Sadly, it's no joke. Commentators on Russia's state-run TV really are delighted with Republicans.
This is from journalist Julia Davis's Russia Media Monitor. Ms. Davis watches and translates Russian media so that we don't have to.
youtube
Ronald Reagan would be sad that his party has become the biggest cheerleader of the Evil Empire in the US.
Republicans hate freedom and they see a friend in Putin.
Republicans helping Russia by denying Ukraine aid, Biden says
One thing Putin's TV marionettes aren't reporting is the price that Russia is paying so that he can think of himself as the 21st century Peter the Great.
Russia has lost 87% of troops it had prior to start of Ukraine war, according to US intelligence assessment
If you don't have a VPN or even an old shortwave radio in Russia than all the news you get is from Putin's lickspittles on state TV and internet.
The bottom line is that Putin's four day (or was it three day?) "special operation" is now in Day 659. Russia has lost more troops in Ukraine than in all its wars from 1946 to 2021. Snowflake Republicans want to betray Ukraine and throw Putin a lifeline when we should be throwing him a large anchor.

The discussion about whether the United States was ‘struggling’ or not was an old one, but there was an unspoken feeling that this one was especially charged. The Russian state television guest looked like a maverick in his finely tailored suit, while the host seemed to be straight out of the Ministry of Truth. The exchange between the two went on as though scripted, as though the two anticipated what the other would say before they’d had the chance to say it. When challenged on the idea that the US was ‘struggling’, the guest seemed to brush aside any notion that the country was in any way suffering, instead offering up a view that was almost blindingly optimistic. This was, of course, met with the host’s incredulous counterarguments. It seemed certain that no agreement would be reached, and yet it was impossible to deny the strange sense of muffled tension that hung in the air. The two remained locked in the debate until the host, feeling unsurprisingly flummoxed, announced the broadcast’s end.

Meanwhile, on russian TV they enjoy their recent terrorist attack on Dnipro city, and promise some more.
On January 14, 2023, five X-22 cruise missiles were launched over the territory of Ukraine. One of the missiles hit a residential building in the city of Dnipro.
The Armed Forces of Ukraine still have no weapons capable of shooting down this type of missile. (!!!) Since the beginning of russia's military aggression, more than 210 missiles of this type have been launched on the territory of Ukraine [ On June 27, 2022, one of the X-22 missiles hit the Amstor shopping center in Kremenchuk ]. Not one was shot down by means of anti-aircraft defense.

Well Done:
Being weary at work I went out for a snack and some sunshine.
I was polite with my coworkers
To better:
For some unfathomable reason I was physically exhausted at work, and I felt sad about it. Then when some mistakes were made I started to feel shame and guilt. As if I have no right to mistakes and tiredness at work without proper reasons. There is nothing wrong with being exhausted, I don’t stop being a worthy person by being human.
Oftentimes I get bored at work and stop paying attention to the details, I grow arrogant, dismissive. Well, even if I’m bored at the moment of a workday I still have to focus and fix this problem on a bigger level.
Delights:
Evening sky and “The Last Shadow Puppets” songs.
Shortbread Qurabiya biscuits. 😋
Last season of “The Good Fight”

Too bad we can’t put Putin and Trump on trial at the same time.
On Russia’s state-run TV there are blatant calls for war crimes. Using religion as justification for genocide is nothing new in Russia. Pogroms were a trademark of the tsars.
These folks don’t seem to care that they can be seen and heard by anybody with an internet connection.

Vladimir Solovyov, the host in that clip who dresses like a James Bond villain, says he wants to “secure justice”. I’m sure that the International Criminal Court in The Hague would be delighted to oblige him and his sponsors in the Kremlin. 🙂

The host and the guest on Russian state TV could not have been more different in their opinions on the current state of the United States. The guest, a representative of the Russian Foreign Ministry, was confident and articulate, while the host was fidgety and uncertain. The discussion turned to the current struggle of the United States, which the guest insisted was only a temporary setback. The host was not convinced. "The United States is a powerful country," he said, "it's not going to just stumble and fall." The guest was not persuaded. "The United States is in decline," he said. "It is only a matter of time before it falls."

I really really REALLY need to see more people makimg the connection between trump and his russian handlers tbh.......like i know we've somehow gone through the looking glass of putin apologia but that piece abt the NYT you just posted, the bots, the interference: in the bag for trump? Yes. But i dont believe its due to his or even republican power or popularity or forcefulness.......this is a man with so much debt and kompromat thats only getting worse!! Not to sound kwazy BUT WE ARE BEING FULLY INFLITRATED and at the risk of conspiracizing i think the russians are ALSO behind the Times's demise along with so many other information centers etc. Like i KNOW these leftists love him but like. Wouldnt they care a LITTLE abt being manipulated like this???
Trump is 100% an active, willing, and eager Russian agent. That's not even paranoid conspiracy theory, that's just the only reasonable interpretation of the facts:
NOT TO MENTION that in the next two years after the Helsinki conference where Trump kowtowed to Putin in every way, the CIA admitted to losing huge and unusually high numbers of classified informants around the world (not CIA agents, but people secretly working for the American government in often-hostile countries):
Once again, this all happened when Trump was in office, when he was actively handing over CIA intel to the Kremlin against the wishes of the entire national security establishment, and which other experts have suggested was directly as a result of Trump handing over the identities of American informants to Russia, including those stationed in Russia itself:
Now, I could go on, but you get the point. Not to mention that Trump just lost a major UK-based lawsuit against Christopher Steele, the former MI6 agent who was the first to provide documents linking Trump to Russia in the controversial "Steele dossier":
And now: Trump is deeply in hock for hundreds of millions in legal fees and punitive judgments that are only increasing by the day, he somehow just came up with $90 million to appeal the judgment against E. Jean Carroll (nobody knows where he got this money either), and Russian state TV spends all their time openly salivating for Trump's return to the presidency (so he can hand over Ukraine and the rest of NATO and, as he literally said, "let Russia do whatever the hell they want.") I know we're largely numb to all the awful treasonous shit that Trump does, but like. This isn't a conspiracy theory, this is just what's going on in plain sight, and while the Online Leftists have recently become so stupid that I honestly can't tell if it's just terminal brainworms or active Russian psyops, it's strongly indicated that it is in fact a mix of both:
So, like. Just some food for thought.
