Here today to show off this project i have been collaborating with! This videogame is my best friend's school project for "Basic of Computer Game Developing "
I have offered her a small assistance by drawing the sprites for the characters. This is still just a school project but one day could become an actual project for an indie game!
The story follows Oka, a middle aged village woman that after the disappearance of her son, she ventures into the forest convinced that he has been kidnapped by the creatures inhabiting it. But not all is as it seems....
Here is the trailer
youtube
If you want to show support for the project You can go to Gamejoilt and itch.io to download it!
The game is in Russian so sorry for that, she is working to make an English version.
Here are my designs for the sprites!

Russian Fairytales in pdf download, 1902 edition, illustrated by Ivan Bilibin from the National Children’s Literature Archive.
The first time I came across the whole books, and I’m totally fascinated - even the smallest details tie in so harmoniously. Just love it.

Nastenka and Ivanushka are affectionate forms of the names Anastasia and Ivan in Russian❤️

This film is very popular in Czechia🇨🇿 & Slovakia🇸🇰 as well, known as "Mrazík" over there. All have been traditionally watching this for the past 60 years.
Beautiful ending of the film, including wonderful Russian folk singing, I love all the gorgeous traditional attire and ornaments!
(I'll make another post in the future including other characters, can't forget about Marfushenka/Марфушенка and Morozko/Морозко!)

A scuffle breaks out, and one of the students, Khoma (Leonid Kuravlyov), murders the witch. Only it turns out he really killed a beautiful landowner's daughter (Natalya Varley), and now he must sit with her body in a church for three days, protecting it from evil spirits.
