Julio & José "Pepe" Madrigal - identical twin sons of Dolores and Mariano, named for their great-aunt Juieta and...abuela Josefa, great-uncle José, and great-grandmother Josephine, respectively. Gifts are flight and superspeed, also rspectively. They both take after their dad physically; Julio is ironically more grounded and Pepe is a bit of an agent of chaos like his uncle Camilo.

Paloma Alma Madrigal - Dolores and Mariano's first daughter, more shy reserved than her older brothers. Her gift is temperature control.

Pedro Madrigal II - Mirabel and Lupe Herrera's (...you don't know who he is, don't worry about it) son. Charming trainwreck. His gift is mimicking other gifts, up to three at a time. Knocked up an American tourist at age 20 and that's how we got Bruno 2.0.

Januwordy 27 - the flowers of the forest

More wildlife terms now, returning this time to the world of flora. Here let's introduce as well some derivational strategies by which some plant anatomy terms are formed, as we've mostly been talking about root nouns until now.

We've already talked about trees, and so what parts go into a tree? Why the ɬasɣa:p 'roots' and ɬastʃim 'branches' of course. These are transparently compounds of ɬas 'tree' and ɣa:p 'legs' and tʃim 'arms' rspectively, and declension-wise they behave the same, e.g. ɬasɣa:pətʃ 'by the roots', ɬastʃiməm 'in the branches'.

káj, meanwhile, is a root noun meaning both 'trunk' when the tree is alive and 'log' when it has been felled (as opposed to the more generic ɬaɬas 'wood', which also includes wood from other parts of the tree like the branches). It is class IV, with the oblique stem káju and plural kákáj. βok 'leaves' is also a root noun, this time of class V, the mass class, and only has the one stem.

Finally, we have tʃâ:ɬ 'flower' (II, oblique tʃâɬnə~tʃɬân, plural tʃâ:ɬu). This showcases a deverbalising strategy that we actually saw before, with sʲó:m 'eye' from sʲom- 'see'. This strategy historically involved suffixing a high-tone *-á to the verbal root, which in the modern language means combining the lengthening of the progressive and tone shift of the irrealis stem, to make a sort of 'agentive' noun (though note both of these derived nouns are inanimate). In this case the root in question in tʃáɬ- (perfective ɣuttʃáɬ), which can mean 'bloom', but also means 'emerge' more generally. Note that flowers don't generally bloom by themselves. Instead we find the following construction: ɬsun ɣuttʃáɬənn 'the trees caused themselves to bloom'.

cant decide if the darien gap is based or cringe. on the one hand a giant impassable rainforest marsh on an isthmus, separating north and south america is really cool, but on the other hand being able to drive from prudhoe bay to ushaia (the northernmost and southernmost point on the pan american highway rspectively) would be so fucking cool. 70 degree north to 55 degrees south! 70% of the distance from north to south pole! prudhoe bay to panama city is 135 hours and cali to ushaia is 123 hours so the trip would take like at least a week and a half with no sleep

Of course, Steve is terrified of going back and seeing how everyone still considers him a childish loser. Robin proposed the idea of Steve pretending to have a stable romantic life to prove he'd changed and Y/N got cast for the role of fake girlfriend; it's just bad irony that she likes Steve Harrington.

Warnings: there would be characters from the TV show ER (John Carter, Mark Greene and Dough Ross), mentions of typical-period diseases and issues, fake dating, slow-burn, all up until the end of season 4 had happened (Eddie's dead and Max's blind, sadly).

Note: Steve was born in 1966, so he's 28 here. Robin, Nancy, and Jonathan were born in 1967, so they're 27. Dustin and the other kids were born in 1971, so they're 23. As for Y/N, she's 24 here, so she might've been born in 1970 to keep with the story.

My guess as for why the teams are seperated like they are is with Ren and Nora’s issues and their rspective differing resolves (Ren for Mantle, Nora to warn the kingdoms), someone like Jaune or even Ren and Nora themselves decided that it was best to seperate them. Since Nora and Yang are the heavy hitters of their respective teams, they swap them to keep the balance evened out.
