Mission: First Date - Reader X Rise!Leonardo

Summary: Leo and Y/N are out on their first date so the rest of the family decides that they better observe them and make sure that this First Date of theirs will be a success

Mikey tapped with a stick against a whiteboard that was at this point covered in a myriad of writing and drawings in all kinds of colors. The turtle mutant wore a serious expression behind his big round glasses. He was trying his best to gather the attention from the group that was sitting on the ground in front of him.

Raph had his typical smile on his face, his attention fully on his youngest brother while Donnie just eyed Mikey with narrowed eyes. He was sure that his younger brother got the whiteboard out of his lab and if he finds out that Mikey erased anything important for this weird little stunt of his, there will be hell to pay. April had her eyes narrowed as well but for a different reason. She just got off shift from her latest job and immediately came over to the lair since Mikey said there was an emergency only to see that whatever this was, was the emergency.

To everyone’s surprise even Splinter was in the room. He had his eyes closed as he stroked his chin deep in thought but if he really was busy thinking or in the middle of falling asleep could be anyone’s guess.

“Come on guys! We gotta make sure that all will go well as his family!” Mikey exclaimed loudly, trying to elicit a reaction from the group this time.

Knowing that Mikey will just keep them all stuck like this if they didn’t go somewhat along Donnie replied “Why, though? I have better things to do than sneak after Leo on his date.” He couldn’t help the sneer when he said the word “date”.

It was almost as if Donnie just insulted Mikey with the way he puffed up his cheek and threw his arms into the air, gesticulating wildly “Well! You know Leo! And you know Y/N!”

Donnie just stared him further down. This did not in fact answer his question in any way.

Raph, sensing that both Donnie and Mikey were slowly becoming more tense and annoyed, tried to mediate somewhat “Uh, how about you just go through all of this again? Maybe in an abridged version, lil’ man?”

Mikey’s hand slapped against his forehead and slowly slid down his face in annoyance “Ugh, fine!” he grabbed the whiteboard and flipped it around. He drew a quick picture of Leo’s smiling face on the board and another one of Y/N’s face.

He coughed to clear his throat as he tapped his stick against the whiteboard once again “Alright, guys! As we all know Leo has recently asked Y/N out on a date in the Hidden City. Not only is it his first date, it’s also Y/N’s first date.” His stick moved towards the Leo picture “Leo here is confident but also when it comes to emotions, he can be stupid at times!”

Now the stick moved over to the picture of Y/N “Now Y/N here is as we all know very nice and funny, but she is also very shy, so should Leo do anything stupid she wouldn’t say anything about it.”

Mikey slapped the stick loudly against his hand, he must have not expected this as well seeing how he had to shake his hand in pain “Now there is not a lot we could do to make sure that the date goes well in that regard, but we can make sure everything else will be fine! They are in the Hidden City and I swear every time we go down there something happens.”

“I mean not always though, Mikey, and I’m sure Leo will be able to handle anything that’ll come their way.” Raph mumbled out, scratching the back of his head.

This just made Mikey roll his eyes “Yeah, sure! But I feel like as his family it is our duty to make sure it’ll go well!” There was a short beat of intense silence before he continued “Also it’s been a while since Leo took time off like this. Ever since the whole Krang thing he’s been mostly concentrating on training and everything, so, I wanna make sure this will go well.”

This answer visibly satisfied Raph as he nodded along “Okay, yeah, you’re right. Let’s make sure it’ll go well.”

“Thank you, Raph!” Mikey sighed out, happy he managed to bring at least one of his family members on his side.

“I mean, I agree with you there Mikey, but also this kind of feels like an invasion of privacy…” April winced.

Mikey took a second to reply “You know Leo and Donnie didn’t really hesitate when you went out on a date with Sunita. “

A frown immediately appeared on April’s face “One! It wasn’t a date! We’re friends! Two! Okay, yeah fair and I am curious not gonna lie.”

Donnie suddenly gasped out in utter outrage “Really? You are just going to go along with whatever this is? Really, April? I thought better of you.” He huffed.

April snickered “Well you thought wrong, Donnie. I’m a journalist, snooping is what I do! Besides, for Y/N’s sake and our sisterhood that we both share, I gotta make sure she’ll be alright! Come on, I know you wanna come along as well!”

“Scoff. I have better things to do, thank you very much.”

“Donnie, even Splinter is coming along.”

“Dad? Really?!”

All eyes were now on the rat that was sitting quietly between his children.

He continued stroking his chin, opened his eyes to speak with a sagely voice “It’s simple. I’m a father. I am worried for my son’s well being and he is the first of my kids that is going out on a proper date. Of course, I want to make sure that he will be alright.”

Donnie did not trust a word his father just said to him. No, he knew there was something else. That’s when it hit him “Oh, Pizza Supreme, your favorite soap opera is on break isn’t it?”

Splinter nodded, somehow still trying his best to keep his wise aura going “And my soap opera is on break.”

“Come on, big bro, you know you wanna come along with us!” Mikey chimed in before Donnie could admonish his father even further. His eyes wide open and glistening. The puppy dog eyes combined with him calling Donnie his big bro was a powerful weapon for the most dire moments.

The purple ninja groaned angrily “Alright, I’ll come along but only because if Leo inevitably embarrasses himself, I want to be there. After all I do record everything.” His angry expression now exchanged for a devious one.

It was quiet for a very awkward moment before Mikey picked up the pace once again “Alright! Glad we’ve got this figured out! That said we should really be going because judging by the time they should have been gone for like half an hour now. I would say this is good enough space to ensure that they won’t suspect a thing. Let’s get going to Hueso’s!”

This is how the group ended up being spread in Hueso’s restaurant. Mikey somehow managed to infiltrate the kitchen, saying something that while he definitely trusts Hueso’s food, he’d make sure it’s extra perfect.

Raph was sitting in a booth, wearing a trenchoat and a hat while holding a huge newspaper to hide behind. April sat in front of him in a similar get up with another newspaper.

Donnie sat at a table with his father in a corner of the restaurant. Both wore their sweater vests combined with a fake mustache and glasses that Mikey insisted the two had to wear just to be sure. Honestly Donnie was just waiting for all of this to backfire horribly.

While all of them were spread around they all head a good view of Leo and Y/N who sat at their own table, munching on some Pizza while they chatted. Both leaning back in their own chair with soft smiles. The blush on Y/N’s face was obvious while the one on Leo’s face was more faint but still very much there.

Suddenly Raph’s voice rang in Donnie’s ear. Right, Mikey begged him that they get to use the little earpieces so they could communicate.

“How’s it looking gang?”

“How’s it supposed to look? They are just talking. It’s fine.” Donnie replied lazily as he grabbed a piece of his own pizza.

Splinter shook his head disappointedly “It is not fine, Purple! Can’t you see in their body language how this is not fine? I knew I should have taught Blue more about how to talk to a lady. They are barely looking at each other!”

“Uh, yeah, sure, that.” The others did not need to see April to know that she must be grimacing, since they were as well. None of them wanting to think about Splinter flirting with anyone. It was already hard enough to know that Big Mama was his ex.

Mikey’s voice appeared again “But yeah, the two look really more like two friends hanging out. I think the two might be too shy to try anything.”

April snorted “Can’t believe that I’m saying this, but I think you are right. Didn’t think I would see Leo being too shy for anything.”

“It’s infuriating to watch. The more I sit here the more I can’t understand how you keep watching shows all about romance.” Donnie muttered towards his father. The disdain clear in his voice.

“Just concentrate on helping Leo out and not the romance bits then.” Raph tried to reason with Donnie “Oh! There is way more sport here in the Hidden City. Boulder pushing? That sounds interesting.” There was a rustling as Raph moved the newspaper closer to properly take a look at the article “They have to balance at some point on a log and carry the boulder across! Guys! Doesn’t that kind of sound like when we do Pizza box balancing?”

More rustling as April flicked Raph on his arm “Sports can wait, Raph!”

He sighed, the edges of his mouth turned downwards “You’re right. Raph is sorry. This is about Leo and Y/N.”

“Well, what do we do?” Mikey piped up.

Splinter chuckled “Now, kids. All they need to be is in the proper mood. This place isn’t romantic enough in the least! I really need to talk to Blue about his choice of restaurant.”

“Actually, I think this might have been Y/N’s idea, Splints.” April brought up.

But this didn’t deter Splinter “And? Blue should know better! Can’t believe he is related to me.” He grumbled something more out, but it was unintelligible at this point.

“I think dad is right. The right mood could help both of them to finally open up more.” Mikey spoke, trying to move the situation along.

“It is good that you brought me along then, kids. I think it is time for some music. Music shall give both of them the courage to finally show what they each think of each other!”

“Wait, what?” Donnie exclaimed, shocked with what he just had to hear from his father “Oh, please, do not!”

But it was too late, Splinter took a deep sip from his water and began to silently warm up his voice. Raph also seemed to notice that there was no way to stop him now “Okay, I think this just means we have to help him somehow! We gotta move and help! Go!”

“Wait, what can we even do?” April asked.

“No idea but we gotta do something!”

“Please, someone, just kill me here and now.” Donnie muttered as he jumped off his chair to sneak off to meet up with the rest of his family.

At the other side of the room Y/N and Leo were still chatting.

Leo wouldn’t admit it, but he felt like he was sweating bullets. When he asked Y/N out on a date he did not think he would be this nervous but here he was sweating bullets while he bunched up the napkin between his hands.

“Can I admit something?” he made sure to put his typical smug smile on as he tried to look as nonchalant as possible.

“Sure, I’m listening.” Y/N smiled.

Leo couldn’t help but stare at her for a few seconds. One thing he appreciated about humans was how obvious their blush can be. It looked really pretty on Y/N and he secretly loved to make her blush whenever he got the chance.

Sure, he was blushing as well, he could tell with how warm his face felt but it was harder to see because of his green skin. Though he was glad about that fact, it helped as he tried his best to act confident.

He chuckled “Normally when I go out, I’m a bit… accident prone. I was sure that at this point something would happen. Not that I couldn’t handle it and get us through it.” He made sure to puff his chest up a little bit to look as strong and cool as possible.

Y/N’s smile widened, her blush darkening as she said the next words “Then let’s just, uh, take this as a good sign for this date.”

“Yeah. Heh, we are on a date!” He hummed happily as a response which made Y/N chuckle.

That’s when suddenly the lights dimmed. Leo tensed up as he looked around, not expecting this at all. Never has anything like this happened when he has been over at Hueso’s. Though when he saw that the other guests didn’t react much to it, he just assumed that he must be missing something. That said he did notice Y/N slighty raise her eyebrows. Obviously also not expecting this.

Leo shrugged and returned to properly look at Y/N. He had to admit it was a bit easier to look into her beautiful eyes knowing that it must be harder now to see his blush.

“Oh, nice, mood lighting.” He mused, wiggling his eyebrows, hoping that it made Y/N laugh.

It did. She laughed quietly at his antics, hiding her smile behind her hand “Mhm, seems like it. Didn’t know it was a thing here.”

“Me neither but, hey, it’s nice. I think. Right?” Somehow, he got nervous. Was Y/N okay with this? Would she want to leave, was this somehow too intense? Maybe she wants to have proper light to see his handsome face?

Y/N nodded “Yeah. It’s nice. Ro-Romantic even.”

Man, the two were a lost cause, Leo realized. Both were comfortable enough with each other where they didn’t want to flee this situation but somehow this was going nowhere, and Leo couldn’t help but think it was his fault.

And then his ears picked something up. Music? Since when did Hueso play romantic music at his joint? Leo tried asking for some special treatment from Hueso for the date, but he was adamantly declining it, so this was definitely weird. Did he come around after all?

Leo bit into his pizza, trying to wrap his head around it. Maybe the two reminded him of Hueso when he was younger and maybe on his first date and wanted to help? Who knows.

Was this opera music? That definitely didn’t seem like Hueso’s style. The others in the room sighed happily as they listened to the music though, so, once again, maybe he was just missing something. Yet somehow there were some kind of warning bells ringing in the back of his mind.

“Y/N, you hear the music, too, right?” He couldn’t help but be very confused by all of this.

Y/N nodded “Yeah. It’s nice!”

Well, if she liked it might as well just go along with it.

Right, he was on a date. Time to be romantic. The mood was kind of set so he might as well try something cheesy.

Leo grabbed a piece of pizza but instead of biting into it himself he moved it towards Y/N “Do you want some pizza, Y/N?”

Her blush that was slowly getting better darkened once again which in return just egged Leo even more on.

“I could never say no to pizza.” She smiled.

Leo nodded, happy with her answer “If you could I wouldn’t be able to go on a date with you.” He joked. He then moved the piece closer to her, so she was able to bite a piece off.

Somewhere deep inside his own mind he checked off the box for “Feed your crush some food”.

“Thank you, Leon.”

“I’d feed you grapes like how they did in ancient Greece or something.”

“I don’t think that’s necessary.” Y/N laughed. “But I appreciate the sentiment. I would do the same.” Her voice wavered a bit, but Leo couldn’t help but be a bit stunned at that. She is normally so shy, so this was very straightforward for her.

“Actually, here.” She said, grabbing a piece of pizza herself and holding it to Leo’s lips so he could bite off as well, which he did.

Once again deep in his own mind he checked off a box for “Get some food fed by your crush.”

As this was going on Leo had to admit that the dimmed lights and the very, weirdly familiar, romantic opera music did seem to help. He somehow felt more emboldened. Maybe he should have tried going for a more romantic place in the first place but the two loved this restaurant, so it just felt natural to go here.

Taking some of the new courage Leo moved his hand towards Y/N’s holding her soft ones in his battle-hardened ones. Y/N didn’t even flinch. She automatically threaded her fingers between his.

That’s when it suddenly hit him. A cold shower went down his back. There was a reason he knew this singing! But that couldn’t be! No, surely. Why the hell would his dad be here? Just to sing? But something deep in his gut was so sure that this was his father singing and over the years he has learned to listen to his gut.

“God damn it.”

Y/N’s eyebrows bunched together in worry “What’s wrong?”

“You know how I just said that normally things happen when I go out?”

She nodded.

“I think the one singing is dad.”

“… Splinter?” Y/N asked, clearly not being able to believe that his father could belt out something in such a nice and almost angelic voice.

Leo took his free hand to pinch the ridge between his eyes “Years ago me and my brothers made a whole band and dad begged us to join. He just kept singing in front of us to show off his prowess and I swear this is him.” He was now looking around since he was so utterly convinced that this was his father.

“I’m sorry, it was all so nice, and I head to break the moment. It’s just… I have this feeling that somehow my family is up to something.” he apologized but he couldn’t help but look around. If only this huge dude in the weird trench coat and big hat wasn’t in the way, he could get a better look at the back of the place!

Y/N must have noticed that he was at this point really paranoid which probably made her come up with the next idea “It’s fine. Don’t worry. At this point I know that your family can be… quite the bunch. A funny bunch but I can understand your worry. How about we go out on a walk?” A comforting smile every present on her face.

Leo let out a deep breath, happy to hear that she would trust his gut feeling like that “You know what? I know the perfect place for that, and I have an awesome idea how we can ensure that we are for sure alone.”

That purple vest on the yokai in the back looked familiar. Purple vest? Oh, hell no, they gotta go now!

He abruptly stood up and slapped some money on the table. Y/N followed suit, wanting to walk towards the exit of the place but instead Leo held firmly onto her hand that was still in his. He grabbed one of his swords and opened a blue portal. He’ll make sure that they will be left alone. Let’s see if his family can follow him when he just randomly teleports away, ha!

He did have to admit that they did an amazing job of hiding though since he at this point was sure that he only heard Splinter and saw Donnie.

Scratch that, that human over there behind the newspaper, clearly ogling him and Y/N, was April. The shine of the glasses gave her away.

Leo nodded to Y/N and together the two stepped into the portal to the chagrin of his family who immediately began scrambling up trying to figure out where he went.

Donnie tapped around on his wrist gadget before he exclaimed “Got him. He’s at one of the ports here.”

That was Leo’s amazing idea. He remembered the port where he had to fight off a bunch of pirates and honestly a romantic boat ride under a literal magical moon in the Hidden City sounded amazing. Plus, it would ensure that the two got some privacy.

“Are you sure it’s okay to take one of these row boats?” Y/N asked as Leo helped her inside a blue little boat.

Leo did a dismissive handwave “Oh, pshaa, I saved the world I think I’m due some sort of repayment! Besides we’ll bring it back. We will just borrow one for an hour or so! So, stop worrying and make yourself comfortable!”

Happy with this answer Y/N sat down and watched as Leo began rowing out onto the sea “You know, you were right. I saw Raph but I didn’t want to say anything.” She chuckled as she remembered spotting Raph as he wrestled with a newspaper.

“Raph is in this as well?!” It was already weird enough that apparently Splinter was involved in this but by the looks of it his whole family had been spying on them. Even if he hadn’t seen Mikey yet he was positive he must have been around somewhere. Not when everyone else was there.

As Leo rowed further out the rest of his family finally managed to reach the port. At this point he was actually pretty far out. So far actually that it was difficult for the other to see what they were doing.

Donnie pulled down his goggles to zoom a bit in so he could take a look. Once again science saves the day.

Mikey jumped on Donnie’s back, clutching on to him “What are they doing? What do you see?”

“Once again. They seem to be just talking.”

Mikey slid down Donnie’s back with a groan “Ugh! The two are the worst!”

Splinter seemed dejected as well “After the performance of my lifetime Blue just flees with her? On to the sea?”

“Well, we know your singing so maybe he recognized it?” Raph tried to reason as a way to cheer his father up, but it didn’t seem to help much.

April crossed her arms “I’m still so positive that he saw you, Donnie.”

Even though April couldn’t see it since Donnie had his goggles down, he rolled his eyes “Yes. Truly. I am devastated as well.” He said clearly not devastated at all. Barely caring, even.

Mikey was at this point laying on the ground sprawled out like a starfish “Why are they only talking? How is this a date?”

April slapped her fist against her open palm “We have to set the mood.”

Raph raised his finger at that “Uh, Apes, we already did that and I’m pretty sure it was the reason the two fled literally on to the sea.”

“Yeah, but now they are on the calm sea, a full moon shining down on them. Perfect basis for a romantic day out.”

Splinter looked up at her with a new spark in his eyes “You have an idea?”

She nodded “Don, you will have to help with that. Your science and machines may save this date yet.”

He wanted to retort that he wouldn’t be doing anything like that but how can he dismiss it immediately when she brought up a valid point. If his inventions would save his dear brother’s date, then he would owe him a lot and who was Donnie to not take the chance to gain a favor from Leo.

“Alright. What do you need?”

“Yes!” April cheered as she got her phone out “I’ve got the perfect song for them to listen to. You think you could somehow make it possible for them to hear it without noticing us immediately?”

Donnie raised one of his drawn-on eyebrows “Nothing more? That’s easy.”

“Actually Purple, didn’t you show me something about like holomographicmajig? Uh the illusion stuff?” Splinter suddenly jumped in.

This surprised Donnie. Splinter remembered one of his inventions he showed off to him? How come that the day Leo had his first date was also slowly turning into his best day yet?

“You mean my Holographic imagery? What’s with it?” It was still in beta, but he was excited to hear what Splinter had to say now. This was a momentous occasion after all!

Splinter nodded “Yes you showed off a holographic version of yourself. You think you could do some mood lighting for Blue and Y/N? Like Fireflies for example?”

He even got the word correct! Donnie was now happy he wore his goggles, or the others would see how glassy his eyes have gotten.

“Oh, that’s a challenge I’ll accept gladly, my dearest father!” His voice trembled in excitement. He couldn’t help laughing as he began tapping on his wrist gadget. He needed his DJ Shell and if he just attached the new holographic gadget on it, it could hover it a bit over the sea so the two would hear music and the holographic imagery would reach them.

It was easy really, but it still made his family members throw praises towards him.

Suddenly he was very glad that he came along after all.

At this point Leo was resting his elbows on his knees and held his face in between his hands as he stared at Y/N who was looking at the sky in awe.

The moonlight lit her face up, showing off the soft blush on her cheeks which made Leo sigh happily. The light almost made her look ethereal, and he swore he could just stare at her like this for hours and he still wouldn’t have enough.

“I’m still wondering how they managed to put up a whole night sky while the city is underground. It’s amazing. They must have their own star signs.”

Leo hummed in agreement. He was listening, he really was! He just felt like he was currently stuck in a beautiful dream and couldn’t help but bask in the moment.

“I’ll find out who makes the stars here and I’ll ask them to make one just for you.” He spoke, a big smile on his face.

This pulled Y/N’s attention from the night sky, her mouth open as she processed the words. She let out a snort, which to Leo was the cutest thing “Alright, you flirt. Next thing you’ll ask me if it hurt when I fell out of heaven.”

As response Leo just grinned “Well, did it?”

Y/N lightly slapped his arm, rolling her eyes but Leo could tell that she got more flustered which just made his grin so much wider.

Then something bright flew in front of his eyes.

“A firefly?” Y/N asked. Her awestruck expression back on her face.

Then even more began surrounding them and Y/N took a big look around. Her smile wide as she noticed how they were at this point surrounded by the small lights.

“This is beautiful.” She whispered.

“Not as beautiful as you.” Leo immediately quipped.

She chuckled “You are the worst.”

“You make it so easy but also it’s the absolute truth.”

“Leo?”

He just nodded to encourage her, his hands searching for hers once again. The boat slowly rocking along on the water.

“You are-“ She bit down on her soft lip “You are quiet handsome as well.”

His breath hitched. Of course, he knew he was handsome but to hear it out of her mouth? Oh, that was magical. It made his heart flutter hard against his chest and the blush on his cheeks so much worse.

She managed to make him speechless. That was a rare feat for anyone to do. Hell, he couldn’t remember anyone doing it to him to begin with.

So, all he could do was lean forward as he stared down into her beautiful eyes. Normally she would have been too embarrassed to keep this up but her she was staring right back into his eyes.

And as they just stared at each other Leo couldn’t suddenly make out someone’s voice being carried over the waves.

It was music. There was the urge to look around where it came from, fearing that somehow his family caught up to him but as Y/N stared into his eyes he couldn’t dare to tear his eyes away from her. Scared that this could ruin the moment.

Normally he would groan that it had to be the Little Mermaid song but once again he didn’t care. He was too caught up in the moment.

Suddenly her eyes darted down to his lips only to jump back to his own eyes. Her blush darkened and Leo was sure so was his.

She don't say a word

And she won't say a word

Until you kiss the girl

He really wanted to be angry at whoever decided to play this stupid song since this was the cheesiest thing for this moment, but he just couldn’t. Not when Y/N shimmied a bit closer to him. Her hands squeezing his hands. Was it encouragement? Was she wondering if he was too deep in his thoughts?

To hell with it.

He slowly untangled one of his hands to tentatively raise up to her face. Cupping her warm cheek in his green hand. Carefully leaning forward but leaving a tiny bit of space so she could move away if she didn’t want this. Yes, the two were very clearly on a romantic date but this wouldn’t mean that she would want to kiss him.

Before his worries could overtake him, she suddenly closed her eyes and pushed forward. Her soft lips softly pressing on his.

He knew this was a possibility, obviously, but as she made contact, he couldn’t help but freeze up. His mind going a mile a minute as he realized that she was kissing him! His eyes wide in happiness, shock, and utter disbelief.

But then she moved away. Softly biting on her lip, looking down into her lap.

He barely processed that she kissed him and there she was leaving his space again. Leo could tell that Y/N was embarrassed, knowing her probably thinking that she did something wrong. He couldn’t have that.

At this point he had completely forgotten the lights around them. The song in the air.

His other hand landed at the side of her face, forcing her to look up into his smiling face. Pizza Supreme he was so happy he could scream.

Before she could ask anything. Say anything. Pull away or anything else. Leo pushed his lips again against hers. This time closing his eyes to truly bask in the moment. The warmth of her on his lips.

His hand snuck at the back of her head, as he softly pulled her closer to himself. Her own hands traveled along his shoulders behind his own hand. One of them grabbing one of his mask tails.

Both of them slowly moving their lips as they tried their best to get even closer to each other. Goosebumps ran down Leo’s skin as he felt Y/N kissing him back. Their knees hitting each other clumsily but he didn’t care, nor did Y/N seem to care.

Leo had to pull away to breath some much needed oxygen in. He had to gulp as he watched Y/N slowly pull away as well, just as out of breath as he was.

“Wow.” He whispered out, barely loud enough for Y/N to catch it.

Her hands were still behind his head, fiddling with his mask tails “That was… nice.” She said breathlessly.

He nodded, he wanted to dive towards her lips again but that’s when he heard something. He heard cheering over the cheesy music.

Y/N must have caught on as well since both looked towards the port. There were five shadows either jumping around or just high fiving each other.

“I will kill them.” Leo deadpanned.

Realizing that Leo’s family must have watched them Y/N pressed her head embarrassed into Leo’s shoulder. He automatically laid his arm around her protectively.

“Oh, they are so dead. So, so dead.”

When they realice that they are in love

Leo

You are Leo's new best friend. The one person he enjoy to made pranks and watch Captain Jupiter movies; you two just clicked since day one. To the dismay of the other brothers you two were partners of crime (pranks). An instant duo.

So, for him, it was a bummer when you sometime had to cancel plans because of your family or becasue you were sick with a flu. In those cases he would come to your place through one of his portals to keep an eye on you and keep you company, it became an habit of him.

It were his brothers who pointed out that he was acting like a clingy-loving boyfriend. Clingy? Boyfriend? HIM? ... Now, could he? He did enjoy to spend time with you. And you are very fun and kind. You even encourage him and... bust his confidence up, making him feel good... But he brushed out those thoughts.

"Y/N and I are just best friends." "Riiiiight..." "Oh come on, what's the big deal about me checking on Y/N? I just love being with them-" Then it hit him. "LIKE! Like I LIKE being with... Y/N?" Oh... What? WHAT?! WHAT DID HE JUST SAID!? He escaped from his brothers merciless 'we knew it' with a portal, and before his face got set on fire.

Please, don't think that Leo is intentionally avoiding you lately; behind all his unbelivable excuses, like he had to feed Señor Hueso's apperently new pet or something, there's a bubble of anxiety mixed with fear placed in his chest that he is concealing it from you. What if you don't fell the same way?

Raph

Who's the best sparring partner Raph ever had? You. Not to offend Buddy, but practicing with you it's both great training and fun; specially when you both are fans of GhostBear and emulates his special wrestle moves.

One day, you did the impossible: you made Raph fall backward and pinned down him. It was like the time stopped for a moment for him, he was starring you as you where gleefully happy that you managed to have a win for once. Your smile and laugh... That bright in your eyes...

It was like suddenly his heart went-- BOOM!!

Thank heavens you were busy that week after that day, because Raph needed desperatly time to figure out why was he feeling so... So strange around you! It was like he was forgetting how to speak to you, his hand would sweat rivers... His fear stink was oozing out of his skin, and he didn't like it! He needed to talk to someone he could trust his issues, someone he could open up easily and seek for advice. Sadly he couldn't find Ghostbear anywhere, so he went to Splinter.

"... And since then I just feel weird around Y/N. And I don't know what to do." His father was already at the edge of the couch, having his son this naive about his brand new feelings was so much interested than his show. He managed to put his "sensei voice" and ask him calmly. "I see... Tell me, son, normaly how do you feel about Y/N?" "Well, It's my best friend.. And I like them." "Try to repeat that..." "I... Like Y/N." His father gestured him to go on. "I like Y/N... Like, very..." His mind gears rolled at last, his face were blushing as a tomato at the realitation of his brand new feelings toward you.

Donnie

It was perfect friendly relationship between you two: you can get help with your homework and assigments and he had a videogame multiplayer partner. You were in his ranking of people he can stand, right above Leo.

It was one game night, you two were online from your respective homes playing Teenage Mutant Punk Frogs (did you get the cameo?) at the last level. It took weeks of tears, sweats and tons of caffeine to finally reach this moment... And you won together! You both cheered from the mics and out of nowhere from Donnie's throat came a loud "I LOVE YOU SO MUCH!"-- It took a second for Donnie to process what he just said and go out of the game.

Don't get upset if the turtle don't answer your calls, the poor boy was being a wreking mess right now. He couldn't concive what he just said! Of course he would say "I love you" to his family and friends when he feel excited or when he (rarely) wants to express his feelings... But saying it to you... Something in him felt too different.

His first reason of why was because... Something was wrong with him. So he run some test of himself: blood pressure, temperature, brain CAT... He even programated Sheldon to monotorice his vitals and signals, even his brain waves. And by the passing day, everything was apperently normal. He sighed as relief, thinking that maybe it was the rush of the game and the excessive caffeine.

He called you back apologizing about yesterday. Of course you did, and you tell him that you were so happy when you both aced the game together. And that he was great. "Your heart beat as quicked." Suddenly Sheldon voice appeared. You asked what was that. "Huh, NOTHING! I've updated Sheldon and... He is STILL in downlanding process!" He was getting nervous, a mostly because he was indeed felling his heart beat faster than usual. "Your pituitary gland is segreating hormones-" And with a crashing sound he hang out. So... Yep, to his dismay, the diagnosis was this: He's in love.

Mikey

There's nothing more that Mikey loves than making new friends, and you became his brand new friend since minute one. He invite you to skateboard, to walk over the mystic city, the rooftops... And if you have any artist vibe, boy he would excited!

You spend mostly of the time drawing and painting together; trying new techniques and tricks. Also portraits of the rest of the gang and each other. Mikey you paint you colorful, because you always end up with paint stains over your face. He thinks it's a good trait of you. Later at night he would dradle a little more before going to sleep... And somehow, he started to draw you.

It started with a simple emoji of your face with your usual hairstyle. He did nailed it. He also remembers your clothing style. Your accesories. The size of your hands and the color of your fingernails. The color you eyes... Your eyelashes... Your smile... Your lips... "Orange! Lights out and go to sleep!!" His father's voice snapped out of that trance, unconsciously closing his sketch book. He opened it again... Gosh, WHY DID HE DRAW YOU SO MUCH?!

He couldn't get even a blink the whole night! And when you ask him if he was alright, he just tense up and try to hide his tireness. Since when does he feel tense around you?! You're one of his best friends! His most caring and adorable friend... Who has tons of drawing of you all detailed... and hearts around you. Last time you saw him his face were getting red and sweaty. "I GOTTA GO!" And runaway.

He hide inside his shell the whole day in his room. His brothers eventually comes to see what was wrong with their baby brother; Raph would be soflty ask, Leo would be more teasing, Donnie would peek at his phone... And then he noticied the sketch book. "Huh, what do we have here-" Like a thunder beast, Mikey jumped over Donnie and snatched the drawings off his hand. Safe, he thought. But his brother had one page of the drawings... And the other bothers took a peek too. "Ooooooooohhh~" And Mikey kept hidden on his shell for two weeks.

Raph regretted it the second he made the suggestion for you two to swamp numbers.

It was all Leo ever did.

Constant buzzing, beeping, text messages.

Beep!

Raph slowly bit into his breakfast burrito, not moving his eyes from the plate.

Buzz! Buzz!

"Can I be honest with you guys?" Mikey leaned into Raph's side, whispering to him and Donnie.

"When are you not?" Donnie mumbled, have a burrito in his mouth, eyes on his own phone and typing furiously.

"I'm getting kinda upset with Leo's texting, it's all he ever does! I mean, yesterday I asked him if he wanted to skateboard with me and he said no!" Tears welled in his big eyes, almost spilling onto Raphs breakfast.

He quickly swallowed the rest and glanced behind him at Leo, leaning against the kitchen counter staring at his phone.

"I'm sure they'll get over it in a few days,"

A few days later....

Leo laughed heartily at your message, you always sended the funniest things. It was one of the reasons you guys were best friends, you had the same sense of humor.

"Leo! We are in the middle of a fight here!" Raph yelled, smashing another paper ninja, the confetti flying away in the breeze.

"Yeah, yeah, hold on, they just sent the funniest cat meme," Leo shoved his sword into the ground, using it as an armrest as he texted back.

"Ooooh, cat meme!" Mikey laughed, rushing over and peering at Leo's phone. "Awe, he's in a boat!'

A paper ninja snuck up behind them, grabbing Mikey by the waist and throwing him over the docs and into the ocean.

Raph smashed him into confetti as well, jaw agape seeing Leo completely unbothered.

"Leo!" He hit his brothers shell, coming to stand beside him. "Did you miss the part where your brother just got thrown into the sea?"

Leo scoffed. "Don't worry he's fine. You're fine, right Mikey!" Not looking away from his phone, Leo yelled over the railing.

"I'm good!" Came Mikeys eager voice.

"Donnie, save Mikey from drowning, I need to have a word with Leo," Raph grumbled.

"We're turtles we can breathe underwater for-" Donnie started, raising a pointed finger.

"Help! SAVE ME! I can't swim!" Mikey flalled about, splashing and screaming.

"And I stand corrected," Donnie groaned, activating the jetpack on his battle shell and grabbing Mikey.

"Leo, you got put your phone away and focus," Raph snatched the phone from his brothers hand.

"Hey, come on, give it back!" Leo tried to pry Raph's hand open but it wouldn't budge.

"Why are you so obsessed with texting them?"

Leo sighed. "It's just... it's nice to have someone else to talk to. Don't get me wrong I love you guys, but they're funny and have been so many fun places and do so many cool things, it's-"

"It's a nice change of pace from everything," Raph smiled down at Leo, who had stopped trying to open his hand. "I'll give this back, but you have to promise me you're gonna put it away when we're on missions, alright? No mission texting,"

Raph held his hand out and opened it, Leo quickly snatched his phone.

"Deal, no mission texting!" Leo saluted him, his classic smirk on his face.

"So anyway, now we're here at an abandoned warehouse fighting these foot jerks again!" Leo laughed into the phone, one hand holding his sword and fighting more paper ninjas and the other holding his phone, video chatting you.

"What idiots, who hides out at a place 5 minutes away from your last spot?" You laugh, relaxing back in your desk chair.

"Right! That's exactly what I said!" Leo sliced another ninja in half.

"Leo, I thought we talked about this!" Raph yelled from a balcony above him. Donnie peered over the railing looking down as well.

"We did, you said no mission texting, were video chatting, it's completely different," Leo waved his hand dismissively at Raph.

"Oh, is it Y/n? Tell them I say 'hi'!" Mikey yelled from across the room, taking out three ninjas with one chain pull, the confetti immediately going into his face causing him to cough.

"Don't encourage him, Mikey!" Raph gripped the railing so tight it left hand imprints. "Leo, hang up, were in the middle of a mission!"

"We're fine!" He dismissed again.

"HANG UP THE PHONE OR YOURE NOT GOING TO THE JUPITER JIM COMIC FESTIVAL THIS WEEKEND!" Raph screamed, the sound echoing off the old metal walls.

Donnie and Mikey collectively gasped, heads moving back and forth between the two like a tennis match.

"You wouldn't dare," Leo finally turned to face Raph, eyes squinted.

"Hang. Up. The. Phone."

"Ugh! Fine!" Leo rolled his eyes. "Alright, Y/n I gotta go but we'll talk later, M'kay?"

"Alrighty, I'll be here," You waved and smiled sweetly before hanging up. Leo tucked his phone into his belt, looking back up at Raph.

"Happy now?"

"It's a start," Raph grumbled, finally letting go of the metal railing.

Leo chewed anxiously on his nails, staring at his phone. Sweat rolled down his brow, he quickly wiped it away, not daring to look away from the screen.

"Leo?" Raph yawned, walking into the kitchen, seeing Leo shaking in the corner. "What're you doing up this late?"

"I can't sleep, I'm worried about Y/n," Leo started to pace around the kitchen.

"Oh no, are they okay? Do they need anything? Should I wake the others?" Raph rambled, feeling worried. While you were best friends with Leo you were all their friend as well. They all cared deeply for you.

Beep!

"Oh, nevermind there it is," Leo chucked, fingers typing rapidly.

"There what is?"

"Their 'good night' text, they were working late tonight." Leo yawned, stretching his arms and heading out of the kitchen toward his room. "Well I'm beat, I'll see you in the morning, Raph,"

Raph's eye twitched. "I'm gonna smash that phone,"

Summary: Leo started to notice that you've been avoiding him, less contact and etc, despite of you two being more close with each-other, he decided to confront you about it and it ended up you having to confess.

He noticed it pretty quickly.

Whenever he goes in and tried talking to you or goes in to hug you like the usual greetings you two always do, he always sees you slowly moving away or having excuses to go off somewhere.

assuming you were busy at the moment so he brushed it off.

But, he's starting to suspect it because it happens all the time whenever he's tries to talk to you.

He can't help and be jealous whenever he sees you and his brothers hang a lot like you guys were so much closer than him.

He overthinks it, ALOT. he thinks that he did something wrong that made you so upset with him!

He even tried talking to one of his brothers or april, asking for an advice or just rant to them.

and of course, they would be sick of him from listening to his rants, since he rants about this to them 24/7.

It was a saturday night, requested by april that they should watch a lou jitsu movie or have a movie marathon.

of course Y/N was invited, thankfully she agreed to come.

so everyone prepared some snacks that they could provide at the table near.

"hey uh april, as much as i wanted to join you guys watch the lou jitsu movie for the hundreds of times, like i really REALLY do. but i still need to read my jupiter jim comics." leo says as he crossed his arm in a lazy stance.

"What! no no, think about it! the only reason i agreed to do this is for you to have the opportunity to go talk to Y/N, confront her about the whole situation!" April quickly stood up from where she's sitting on, leaving the others as she goes to leo.

"what's the point? she'll probably push me away, she HATES me april! and that makes me hate myself." leo frowns, his hands down in defeat.

April then goes and grabs his shoulders firmly. "and do you want her to hate you forever? i don't think so."

then when april saw Y/N's presence in the distance, she pushed leo to go on, as she goes back to the others.

Leo stumbled as he glanced at Y/N, he gulped then he stood straight, taking deep breaths, patting his plastron to keep him calm. "you got this leo.. just.. go talk to her!"

before turning to where Y/N was, as she looked at him, she stood there. completely frozen.

"Ohhh, Y/N it's so great to see you! do you mind talking for a bit?" Leo smiled at you.

"Uhm.. sorry, the movie's about to start and i don't-" She replied, cutting of her sentence while smiling awkwardly.

"I understand! totally. but it will be quick, i promise so please, just listen." Leo sighed, his genuinely looked concerened.

Y/N just stood there, didn't know what to say. she could feel her face heating up, trying to keep as much eye contact as possible to make it less awkward.

"you haven't talked to me, didn't answered all my calls, and we barely hang. what's wrong?"

No reply once again.

"I'm sorry, Y/N for whatever I'm done! but please talk to me, tell me what's wrong?" he says as he held your hands gently with.

Y/N gulped when she felt her hand touched his, soon looking at him. "I- uh.. i just.." she couldn't find the words.

Leo looked at her, as he leaned in closer to her face. "uhh Y/N?? are you okay?"

"Okay! OKAY! fine I'll tell you what's the problem!" Y/N moved her hands off him.

"I have feelings for you! i haven't felt this feeling from anyone else but only from you.. it hurts me to see us hanging less but you always take my breath away whenever you're around and can't help but feel so nervous! god.. i hated to tell you this because i didn't wanna ruin our friendship that we have." Y/N sighs, feeling humiliated with herself.

she noticed leo wasn't replying. assuming he was still processing all of this or something more worse.

"Y/N, is that really the problem because you couldn't handle my charm this much?" Leo chuckled, soon he cupped your face with his hands.

"but in serious thought, i also love you too, and i would hate to see us being apart ever again." he said this as he slowly leaned in to kiss you.

Y/N was so happy and is also glad to hear that it didn't end so badly, as she closed her eyes waiting for the kiss.

"Awwwww, this is so adorable!" mikey says from the distance, wiping a fake tear.

"Mikey!"

Leo soon glanced at his brothers, shocked. "you guys were watching us!?" he blushed

"we're still here, remember?" donnie rolled his eyes with a small smile on his face.

"This is better than watching the movie!" April Cheered.

Leo's hands didn't let go of Y/N's face, who was also blushing as hard ever, stunned at the situation.

"Well, might as well enjoy the show" leo smirked, as he looked at Y/N again as he leans in to finally kiss her.

Which Y/N returned happily, wrapping her arms around his neck.

The One-liner War

Summary: The greatest, and grossest, war began the day April brought you to the lair. Will there be carnage? Or will there be love?

P.S. I wasn't supposed to write this till later, but rewatching the movie made me want to give our darling blue-clad turtle some well-deserved love! Here is some Rise!Leo x Reader and I hope you enjoy (≧∇≦). Also, thank you so much for all the love on my last story!!

“Did it hurt when you fell from heaven?”

Those were the first words he had said to you when you met. He thought he could pull on his face man attitude and charm you. But little did he know, that you had a pocket of those one-liners yourself.

“No, but you wouldn’t happen to have a bandaid on you, would you? Because I just scrapped my hands falling for you.”

He was STUNNED, to say the least. Cue Donnie audibly gagging in the background. May or may not have been the worst day of his life. Mikey, being the supportive brother that he is, was trying not to combust with this cuteness. And Raph, as the leader and eldest brother of the team, had no idea what was happening. From then on, this was the normal interaction between the two of you. Every time April brought you over, Leo would lay on the charm. THICK. And you, in turn, would lay yours. EVEN THICKER.

“Do you need a loan? Cuz you got my interest.”

“Well, it seems to me that YOU missed your payment. Because here’s your fine.”

The smug look on your face as you passed him a mirror. You definitely had the moves. Leo wouldn’t admit it, but you were smoother than Donnie’s purple satin jacket. But Leo wasn’t gonna back down. No one. And he means NO ONE! Out faces the face man. The war is ON. It was as gross as it was cute. One-liners were thrown and post-it notes were shared. The rest of the mad dogs found themselves trapped in the crossfire. One time, Raph cracked open a fortune cookie meant for Leo.

“I don’t know which looks sharper. You or your ōdachi.”

Raph didn’t get it. But he was kind enough to relay your message. Let’s just say that Leo’s ego went through the roof. The ‘I might die today, but at least I’ll die looking super fly’ attitude he’s known for, but increased tenfold. The team did not have a fun mission that day.

“When will this gross show of affection end?!”

“Come on Donnie! Feel the love in the air.”

“I do. And it’s disgusting. RAPH! For the love of SCIENCE! Make them stop.”

Squaring up, looking big and gruff, Raph walks up to Leo. With a deep breath in...

“So...Leo...buddy, ya know...about this thing that’s happening between the two of you...can't you...I dunno...tone it down? Maybe?”

That high pitch squee you hear in the background? That’s the sound of Donnie dying. And Leo, being the sass that he is, only gave his brother a shrug before going back to his Jupiter Jim comic. But little did the team know, Leo had the perfect one-liner in store for you. The line that will set his title as the TRUE face man in stone. One that he was sure was going to blow your mind with his sweet, delicious, smoothness.

The next day, April came by for movie night with you in tow. You coming down the stairs was like a star descending from above. He might say it jokingly, with all his sass and attitude. But Leo really did find you mesmerizing. That first line you threw at him a year before, left him falling for you since. And he has been falling HARD. But now was not the time to feel giddy. Now was the time to pull out the big guns.

“Hey, Leo~”

“Hey, you~. Are you ready to get one-lined?”

“You know it Leo. Your game has been getting rough lately.”

RUDE! How dare you say he was rough. Leo? LEO?! He was smooth with ten o’s.

“Well, you might not be lovin this smoothness, but I’m definitely lovin you.”

...

Silence. Just like he planned. But what he didn’t plan was you, glowing as red as the bandana that covered Raph’s face. It spread from your shoulders up to the tips of your ears. And Leo swears he can see the smoke wheezing out of your ears.

“Are you ok-“

“Do you mean it?”

“Wuh?”

...

“Do you love me?”

Letting the words sink in, it was now Leo’s turn to become bright red. So he might not have thought about that one thoroughly as he thought he did. It sounded less cringe in his head. He tried to sass out a reply. Tried to stutter out whatever charm he could from the interaction. But every second he couldn’t utter a proper word made your face paler and paler. Till the flustered expression that you cutely had slowly faded to one of hurt and disappointment.

“Of course, you don’t. It’s just a pick-up line, right? Sorry for...being...stupid.”

“No wai-“

“I’ll catch up with the other guys.”

Pushing past Leo, you run towards the group already seated in front of the projector. You keep your face ducked down to hide your shame and embarrassment. So maybe you found the blue-clad turtle charming, witty, and funny. So maybe you had an itty-bitty crush on the said turtle. THIS wasn’t how you planned on getting rejected. Heck, there wasn’t even a plan to say anything at all. But this, THIS, was the worst way possible for him to know. And the WORST way to be let down. Leo, who was close on your tail was about to call for you when he was shushed, very harshly by a very leathery pink tail that belonged to his dad. Ten minutes in, he tries again only to be met with Mikey’s pizza oily hand slapped to his face. Gross. Thirty minutes in, he tries again. Whispering this time in hopes of not being heard. Only to be shushed by April.

An hour in and he was getting fidgety. You barely looked up from your ducked posture. The hurt was still so apparently seen from your expression. Leo just couldn’t stand it anymore. He called your name and glared at Donnie for shushing him. You, of course, refused to acknowledge him. So, in a last-ditch effort, he shakily reaches for your hand. That caught your attention and you whipped your head towards him. Happy to have you finally look at him, he motioned to his room with his head. You frowned at the idea but relented when he gently took your hand in his. His eyes begging you.

You both stood up, much to everyone’s irritation, and made your way towards his room hand in hand. Once inside, instead of letting you go, Leo instead pulls you into a hug.

“Look, what I said earlier, I might not have meant it...”

The crease between your eyebrows immediately furrows.

“But it doesn’t mean that it was a lie. I do love you. But pick-up lines weren’t exactly how I planned on letting you know.“

Letting you go, Leo moves his hands from your back to your face to lift it to him. And like before, it was bright red from your neck to the tips of your ears. But unlike before, you had a cute pout on your soft lips. Softly whispering your name, the next words that came out of his beak made your heart hammer more than any of his one-liners ever could.

“I love you.”

- the first time you bite him, he jumps and lets out a loud yelp, “ah! ow! what in the name of-“ then just stares at you in disbelief. absolutely incredulous. and has to take a while to process. why? why- HOW could you do this to him? after all he’s done for you?

- don’t play with him he HAS and WILL bite you back and NOT in a loving way

- he is ALWAYS on his guard

- you go in for a hug? you lean in to kiss him? you turn your head ever so slightly in his direction? his whole body tenses up. you’re giving this boy trust issues. he will physically, STILL GENTLY, push you away with his mechanical spider arm thingies…heaven forbid you bite those too….

- “Do. NOT. Bite me. Y/N.” “…”

- “Yes, Y/N. You’re very ferocious and vicious. Now STOP biting me.”

- The first time you bite him, “AHH!” he is confused. he does not understand. are you trying to attack him??? do you wanna throw hands??? what did he do to deserve that??? he does not want to throw hands with you

- he really does not see how biting is supposed to be showing your affection but whatever you say 😭

- his skin is pretty thick and rough. I mean you’d really have to sink your teeth in to hurt him so he just lets you. it actually lowkey tickles to him.

- “Careful. Ya don’t wanna bite my spikes.”

- it’s definitely not his favorite thing in the world but he doesn’t mind terribly if it really makes you happy and as long as it’s just you trying to show him love

- chooses to just take it as a sign that you want attention and/or some kind of affection

- would never bite you back tho

- however, I don’t suggest catching him off guard with a nibble cause he might start swingin 🤺 and would feel absolutely horrible abt it

Mikey

- the first time you bite him he’s offended. you’re gonna bite HIM? 🤨 yeah, ok buddy. he just squeaks in surprise and rubs where you bit him, looking at you like ‘😟’ before biting you back. he is taking it personally until you tell him you’re just showing affection cuz you love him soooooo much

- he’s perfectly ok with it then as long as you don’t bite him too hard

- LOVES to give and receive affection anyways so he makes it really easy to bite him when he’s clinging onto you all the time

- always giggles and squirms when you bite him

- returns your bites with kisses all over your face

Leo

- the fucking most dramatic ever

- the first time you bite him he acts like you just shot him

- “OWW!! OWIE! Ugh! Y/N! How COULD you?! BETRAYAL” while gripping where you bit his shoulder and whining like a toddler even though it did not hurt at all and you didn’t leave any sort of mark whatsoever.

- ^ drops the act completely when you tell him it was out of love

- now every time you do it he thinks you’re trying to flirt with him 🤞😔 and I mean I guess he’s sort of-ish right

- honestly he doesn’t really care but definitely teases you about it /ns

You let out a sigh of contentment as you snuggled further into Leonardo.

It was your anual movie date, and the two of you were cuddling on his bed while you watched, "Jurassic Park" on your laptop.

You sat in Leo's lap, the laptop sitting in yours, while Leo had his arms wrapped around your waist, his head resting on your shoulder.

The room was silent other than the film, and the occasional backround noise that was made by his brothers.

...At least untill-

"(Name)!"

Mikey shouted from the kitchen. He often asked you for help since you enjoyed cooking as a hobby.

With a sigh, you paused the movie, then moved to get up. However, Leo wrapped his arms tighter around you, whining when you tried to remove them.

"Leo, I have to go help your brother."

"Nuh uh." He said, burying his head in your neck.

You giggled as his breath tickled your collar bone, "Yes huh. Now let go you big baby."

"Noooooo..." Leo pouted, pulling you closer to his plastron, "Stay."

"(Name)?" Mikey called again.

"Hold on, Mikey, I'm kinda stuck at the moment! just gimme a second!"

"What do you mean stuck?"

You heard the sound of footsteps approaching, looking up you saw Mikey in the doorway to Leo's room.

You watched as his demenor changed from confusion to laughter. Mikey started laughing so hard that he doubled over, hands on his knees as he struggled to breath.

You sighed through your own giggles as you tried once again to pry Leo off of you. You failed.

Mikey's laughter died down, "Never mind then, I'll ask, Raph for help. You two have fun." He then pulled out his phone, snapped a picture then walked away.

You groaned, "Leo, what are you gonna do when I have to pee?"

"You can hold it." he said, simply, moving so his chin was resting on your shoulder, a tired smirk on his face.

"Leo-"

"Nuh uh. It's bedtime." Leo reached out to close your laptop, then fell back so that you two were laying on your sides. He pulled a blanket up to tuck you both in, then, once again snuggled into your back.

"It's only 4:00pm!"

"Shhhh, sh sh sh. Shush, babe. I'm sleeping."

You let out a frustrated sigh, the small smile on your face betraying how you actually felt about the situation.

"You're lucky you're adorable." You said, leaning your head back against his plastron.

Leo just hummed in agreement, and that's how the two of you stayed. Snuggled up together, one of you refusing to let the other go.

Rise!Leo x male!reader. Lemme set the scene: Starts with a domestic scene, sitting on Leo's bed. Leo's reading comics, reader can be scrolling on his phone. Keynote: reader is shirtless. Leo starts rubbing reader's back absentmindedly, but paused when he realizes there's hair on readers back. ("Y/N, is there's supposed to be hair on your back??" Kinda freaks out)

Reader is unaffected and just says, "Yea, that's my peach fuzz. It's not just on my back." Leo's still flabbergasted and just continues petting the fuzz, all the way down to the small of his back where it's longer, but still super soft. I imagine Leo would just faceplant into the soft patch of hair there lmao. Y/N could get flustered or not be bothered in the slightest (though flustered has so much potential). That's all I got on there, just something that popped into my head. Hope you enjoy writing, if you choose to accept! ~🌺👸

Being a ninja superhero in New York was great. You get to pull of some crazy and amazing stunts while simultaneously saving people’s life. Not only that, ever since Leo and his brothers started doing this whole superhero thing, they have also learned so many new things and uncovered so many mysteries! How could he not enjoy being himself? There was always something interesting going on and when you are a mutant that is forced to hide away from unsuspecting humans, who could fault him for jumping at the next best chance to beat up some bad guys?

That said being a superhero also meant training which was annoying yet a necessary evil. Besides it gave something to do and training with his brothers, and sometimes even their dad, was fun. They tended to invent some games that was basically just training in disguise.

What Leo lately really enjoyed though was that Y/N sometimes joined their little training sessions. Seeing how the family met Y/N while he was in the middle of getting robbed it made sense that he wanted to at least learn some self-defense techniques. And the oh so gracious, amazing, and talented Leo offered to teach him a few things to beat up the next weirdo who would dare to approach him.

Either way things led to another and soon Y/N got regularly evolved with the turtles and their missions. And after an incident the group only called the “Human Bait Incident” Leo and Y/N were forced and set up by their friends to work together to work through the tension between the two which in return ended with a pizza date.

Which leads to another small thing that Leo enjoyed about training. Often after training when Y/N joined them the two would just chill together in Leo’s room, giving their weary muscles the break they desperately needed. Even if Leo liked to joke that when Y/N joins them their training was definitely babied down and that Leo could easily handle it.

Leo was laying on his back, a comic raised above his head that he was lazily looking through. It was an alright issue but frankly Leo was a bit too exhausted to really concentrate on the action. That was when Y/N finally entered his room. A borrowed blue towel was covering his head. He was only in his sweatpants that he wore for training before. His upper body was bare, showing off a few freckles as well as a few scars that he gathered over the time fighting.

With a satisfied sigh Y/N let himself fall down next to Leo on his bed. Still slowly drying his hair. He moved the towel away from his face to take a look at the turtle mutant with a soft chuckle “You know seeing the things you go through on almost the daily you would think that reading comics about superheroes would be boring for you. After all, you kind of live that life.”

Leo just snorted “Oh? Next time I’m on the moon you need to tell me that because I must have missed that.”

In return Y/N just nodded, realizing what he meant “Okay, fair.” He still threw his used towel on Leo once he noticed his smug expression.

Of course, Leo caught the towel expertly to move it away from them. Dropping it to the side, immediately forgetting it was there to begin with.

“Somehow everything is a competition to you, Lee.”

“Well, I just keep winning.”

With a roll of his eyes Y/N moved towards Leo, tracing with his thumb across one of his red markings on his face that are partially hidden beneath his blue mask only to give him a quick peck on the lips “You really need to learn how to shut up.”

Leo moved back up to give Y/N another peck only to return his gaze back on his comic book “You really need to come up with better reasons if you want me to shut up because this is doing quite the contrary.”

Y/N just answered him with an affirmative hum. When Leo took a look over at the human, he saw that he was sitting on the edge of his bed hunched over his phone. He was just absentmindedly scrolling through social media while sometimes switching to apps to play a few levels of some simple puzzle games.

Taking his chance Leo laid his head on Y/N’s shoulder, basking in the warmth and the fresh smell of soap. With a sigh he moved his head around so the side of his face was smushed against the back of Y/N’s shoulder, this way he could still read the comic on the left.

It wasn’t the first time they cuddled, obviously. Leo was a very affectionate person, and his love language was touch but it was the first time Y/N was shirtless. He couldn’t help but grin a bit when he realized that Y/N must feel comfortable enough around him that he didn’t even bother to put his sweaty shirt back on.

And Leo really did try to concentrate on the comic book he was basically holding only inches away from his face, but his eyes just began darting back to Y/N and his back. His eyes falling on the freckles and scars.

Human skin did look a bit different to that of his turtle mutant skin. If you took a closer look at his skin, you could almost make out a scale like pattern while the skin of Y/N was close to smooth. Sure, there was a structure and pattern to it as well but compared to his it was still smoother.

He noticed too late when his hand suddenly darted over to Y/N’s back and a scar. His hand didn’t connect with it, but he slowly traced along it in the air. It was a scar he got back from the fight against Shredder. Leo wanted to frown as the memories caught up with him but instead, he noticed something interesting.

Honestly, he was a bit surprised how he only noticed it now but there on his skin was a soft layer of hair. It was hard to see but still clearly there. Hair? But Y/N is a human and as far as he knows humans are very much not hairy. Head? Yeah. But the back?

Leo moved his head away from Y/N’s back to take a better look at it with both his eyes.

“Uh, Y/N?”

“Yeah, Nardo?”

“Is there supposed to be hair on your back?!” Okay, maybe he sounded more alarmed than he wanted to, but he was worried. Maybe an irrational part in him was suddenly scared that Y/N was stung by an Oozquito, even though they were dealt with and as far as he knew the effects were immediate, but he couldn’t help as confusion with a side of panic settled down in him.

But when Y/N just answered nonchalantly “Oh, that? That’s what we call peach fuzz. It’s not only on my back. We humans have it on other places on our body as well.”

“Oh… Really?”

Y/N just nodded, too engrossed with whatever he was doing on his phone.

Yeah, no he was suddenly feeling really dumb and thankfully Y/N had his back turned towards him or he would probably take the chance to tease him but who could fault Leo? It’s not like he had a ton of contact with other humans like that! The only time he had contact with human hair was as kids when he once tried helping April with her pigtails, but it ended badly hence why he was banned from helping.

Leo cleared his throat which he regretted immediately, thinking it was giving away his embarrassment to Y/N but he didn’t seem to notice. Or he acted like it for Leo’s sake.

Softly Leo moved his hand up to Y/N’s shoulder blades. The pads of his fingers softly running along his back as he took a better look at the so-called peach fuzz. Well, the name kind of made sense. It did remind him of the fuzz that you saw on peaches.

Almost in awe his hands traveled along down Y/N’s skin. His green hands contrasting the soft little hair. While Y/N made no move or noise as to what he was thinking of Leo’s hand running along his back he did notice soft goosebumps appearing along his skin. He almost wanted to laugh at that, but he bit the outburst back. He shouldn’t tease him when he was just moments ago almost sure that something was wrong with Y/N because he had hair on his body.

What he did notice was that the hair down his lower back was a bit longer than the fuzz on his upper back. He ran his fingers along said fuzz which made Y/N shiver for a second.

“… tickles.” Was all he said.

Normally Leo would have used this to bully Y/N and tickle him but right now he was too fascinated and too curious to throw away the chance to take a closer look. He laid down on his side, one of his hands still resting on Y/N’s side, his thumb on his back.

How Leo didn’t immediately notice the hair as he smushed his face into Y/N’s shoulder, he wasn’t sure. Well, the hair there were shorter up there, so it did make sense.

Then suddenly he pressed his cheek against the small of Y/N’s back, slightly moving his head to see if it did feel different. What went through his head that made him decide to press his face into his boyfriend’s lower back? Honestly nothing went through his head. It was an impulsive decision spurred on by pure curiosity.

Just for the record in his own mind, it did indeed feel different. He could feel a few of the hair tickle his skin as he softly moved his face.

This move did finally elicit a reaction from Y/N though. He gasped in surprised and arched his back away from Leo, almost throwing his phone across the room.

“Leo! You’re cold!”

With an embarrassed laugh Leo sat back up “Yeah, uh, cold-blooded! You know me!”

Nice save, Leo. The wit in this statement is amazing. Face man of the Mad Dogs who? Why is it whenever he needs his face man persona the most it leaves him hanging? And why was it always with Y/N? Life or death? No bother but with Y/N? He was a bumbling idiot at best.

He cleared his throat once again “Ah, um, sorry Y/N… I was just, uh, curious and I just… sorry.”

To his horror Y/N finally looked back to see the very embarrassed Leo twiddling his fingers.

Y/N’s face himself was ablaze yet he still had a cocky smile on his face “It’s fine! I was just… surprised?”

Oh, how Leo would have loved to laugh at his reaction, but he was not in the mood. Instead, he wanted to hide behind his hands and vanish from this planet.

In fact, he did slap his hands against his face and pulled them slowly down in a groan, expressing his embarrassment now freely. It was just Y/N, sure embarrassment was never nice but at least with Y/N he knew that it was alright, and they could stumble through this. Guess this is just what happens when you fall in love with someone, or it was just Y/N in specific. It’s not like Leo had a lot of experience in that department.

“Honestly I just want to lie down and let the earth reclaim me.” He finally groaned out.

“Aw, don’t say that! Who else can I ask at 3am to portal me to the closest shop to buy some snacks.”

“Give Mikey enough time and I’m sure he could do it with his mystic powers.” Leo made sure to say the last past with jazz hands. His eyes still didn’t dare to land back on Y/N. Only now did he fully realize what just happened.

Not only did he see Y/N for the first time without his shirt on, but he also basically took the chance to faceplant his face into his back. Let’s also forget that for a moment he seriously thought that Y/N was about to turn into a mutant. Which by the way would have resulted in Leo walking up to Draxum himself and beating him up with a stick even after the whole redemption thing.

Oh, Leo was a catch alright. How did Y/N get so lucky?

Seeing the distress on Leo’s face, Y/N finally moved around and put his hands on both sides of Leo’s bright and warm cheeks. He pressed a bit down so Leo was forced into smushed together expression. At first Leo wanted to get out of his hold since this felt more like Y/N was making fun of him but when he saw Y/N’s serious expression he stopped wriggling.

And for a moment they just sat there like that. Both sitting with crossed legs on Leo’s bed, Y/N was smushing Leo’s blushing face together while Y/N was looking with serious but loving eyes and a furious blush into his face.

“It’s alright, Leo. There is nothing to be embarrassed for! Don’t you think I was incredibly curious about your shell? And when I finally could I took my time to look and trace your shell as well, so this is basically the same, right? Besides I think it’s only natural that I as a human am curious about, uh, your, uhm, body and you as a mutant about mine? It sounds so weird, but I just want you to know that it’s alright! I love you, Leo and I trust you.”

Leo was forced to look at Y/N while he rambled. His worries slowly subsiding.

Suddenly Y/N moved his head to the side as he muttered the last part just barely audible for the turtle “And like, it didn’t feel bad and all. It tickles sometimes but nothing more. You just caught me by surprise.”

Another beat of silence.

“I would weally wike to giwe youw a kwiss wight now but you awe kind ow holding me hwoastash.” The words came out muffled as Leo tried to smush these words out through his squished face.

Y/N immediately let go of Leo’s face “Ah, yeah sorry about that. Didn’t mean to take you hostage.” He laughed.

As his only answer Leo just begun peppering Y/N in kisses. Along his warm cheeks, his forehead, his jaw, and mouth. This was his way to let out this embarrassed energy that he was collecting. Y/N begun chuckling at some point, trying to chase after Leo’s mouth to land a few soft kisses of his own.

“Just for the record. I did enjoy it when you took a closer look at my shell. It was nice.”

“See? That means we are even!” Y/N smiled.

But Leo shook his head “Nuh-uh, lemme take another look. I barely had a good look.”

“Even when you basically threw your head against my back?”

With that Leo pressed Y/N down on his stomach so Leo could lay on the lower half of his body between his legs. This time tracing his fingers with more confidence along his back. Either tracing along the natural patterns in his skin or tracing shapes only to ask Y/N what he was drawing on his back.

Training can be a bore but spending time with Y/N after training was always nice.
