upon noticing your bruises and bumps all over you, mikey gets immediately concerned and harbours a deep frown when he asks you about it.

his alpha instincts command him to make sure you're well and assess the situation to know what's wrong.

when you admit it's because of how clumsy you are, he's relieved it isn't anything more serious and finds it even endearing.

of course, his protective nature doesn't take long to kick in and he's paying even more attention to your surroundings.

rather than being upset about your lack of care, he's understanding and gently inquires why that is, so he can identify the issue behind your clumsiness.

now, when you're together, he offers you his support. whenever you fall and if he hasn't prevented that before, he'll be quick to help you up on your feet, pat your head to assure you it's okay and check your knees to look for any new bruises.

he'll tease you about it, but just to lighten up the mood and show you that he doesn't view your clumsiness as a source of frustration. it is made to make you feel comfortable around him.

ALPHA! MITSUYA

mitsuya is very observing, so he did noticed your tendency to fall and trip early on.

he won't mention it to you though, he'll provide a silent support and watch you carefully.

he'll offer to do certain tasks if he thinks it might harm you. if you need to reach something which is put high in a cupboard, he grabs you by the waist before you even finish climbing and gets it for you.

he tells you to rely on him, he's your alpha and he wants you to trust him and let him act like your partner.

when you're taking a walk, he takes your hand and gently guides you, replacing you so that you don't step into a bump on the road for example.

he does everything so that you don't have to injure yourself, but if it was to happen, his reaction is quick. he'll profusely scent you to prevent any stress or anxiety troubling you and will patch you up.

you'll end up cuddling with him inside your nest!

ALPHA! KAZUTORA

now kazutora is really worried.

what do you mean his omega is getting injured on a daily basis ?

when he first saw your bruised legs during summer, he felt an immense amount of anger.

kazutora is the type to act on impulse and in his head, those were the result of some bad people with malicious intentions towards his sweet omega.

he was furious and checked for more injuries, it was a hard task to calm him down and you thought it wouldn't be possible unless you gave him a couple of innocent names (that had nothing to do with the situation, he was just so sure you were a victim of crazy alphas).

luckily, upon smelling your calm pheromones, he figured you didn't lie to him out of fear and he eventually let his guard down.

now he's even more vigilant. it actually hurts him to know you're this clumsy and it troubles his mind.

he's the type to kiss your bruises though, and act overly reassuring and protective even when you don't actually need it.

ALPHA! CHIFUYU

although stressed at first, chifuyu is quick to approach the situation with a calming demeanor.

he's soo gentle with you, he'll rush to you each time you hurt yourself and shower you with his reassuring pheromones while making sure the cut on your finger isn't too deep.

if the fall was hard he asks you if you're okay, eyes full of care, telling you soothing words to drive away any distress.

chifuyu's touch is tender and he'll softly remind to be more careful whenever he's not here because he can't assist you.

he'll try his best to create a safe space for you : his omega can't get hurt if she's under chifuyu's watchful care!

if it was really serious, he will crack a joke to lighten up your mood and distract you from the pain.

he will offer you a comfortable place to sit afterwards ; if you're out, he's bringing you snacks from the shop next to you and if it was at your place, he's tucking you inside your nest. all the smells make you instantly relax!

ALPHA! ANGRY

angry is concerned.

once he learns you're this prone to injure yourself, it's over for you.

he was already worried sick about you going outside alone, as an omega you're often a target for other alphas and people who might know you're affiliated to him.

but now? now that he knows you don't even need to go outside to be at harm's length, he's constantly trying to check up on you.

now your dates consist of you both staying at your place, watching a movie inside your nest, cuddling and playing games, overall very calming activities.

angry might overdo it, but you need to understand that his instincts are shaking now knowing his omega is jeopardizing herself.

he is prepared and reliable.

yes, you can hurt yourself alone, it happens, but it never does in his presence.

he's careful, even if he looks focused on something else, and will prevent anything from happening to you, from the tiniest cut to the most absurd fall.

if your clumsiness appears because of stress, you can be sure his scent is always enveloping you.

he tenderly kisses your forehead and praises you whenever you successfully stop yourself from falling.

he slowly kisses your bruises and healed scars with sweet patience, you absolutely love his kind nature.

you sometimes feel guilty for the way he seems genuinely upset and apologises for not being able to look after you better.

he's devoted. he offers you his entire support and will do anything to keep you far from harm, even if you're the one bringing it to you.

izana wants to have control over the situation and does his best to react accordingly to ensure your safety.

but he's still gentle and have a careful touch despite his alpha assertiveness.

if he didn't know you often bumped into furniture, you better tell him fast because he won't calm down as easily as kazutora.

izana won't believe you at first, and will definitely not tolerate anybody touching his precious omega. that's why he's a menace.

Ok so you know how the comics take place in the same universe as the justice league and all those guys? And you know how in the comic of 24/7 there's some local, small town superhero on TV, suggesting that any random loser can be a superhero? Do you see where I'm going with this?

Superhob: mild-mannered professor by day, scourge of London's criminal underworld by night. Calls himself The Immortal, doesn't appear to have any superpowers but fights with all kinds of old-timey weapons like maces and crossbows and stuff. He's been shot and stabbed and blown up and all kinds of things that really should have killed him, but he just keeps coming back. Probably has an ongoing rivalry/sexual tension with Johanna.

Could be a fishbowl rescue, and/or maybe he manages to catch the Corinthian? Or like, he somehow manages to cross paths with Dream shortly after he gets out of the fishbowl and they just do the Spiderman pointing meme at each other. Idk, I didn't have any particular plot in mind but I feel like there's a lot of potential there...

This is such a great idea!!! Especially with the whole plot with The Sandman becoming a superhero through Jed's dreams (in the show)

I like the idea of a fishbowl rescue - Hob’s been hearing these rumours about fawney rigg for years, and one day he just happens to be in the area. He figures he'll take a look, since he's already in costume/fully equipped with weapons. Turns out he only has to bonk an old man over the head with the butt of his sword, so it's not very complicated to infiltrate the Manor. But what he finds in the basement in a lot more complicated, that's for sure.

He gets Dream out of the glass, glad that he's got such array of pointy, heavy medieval weapons. He can't get over the fact that he's just rescued his stranger. His stranger apparently can't get over the fact that Hob is trying to be a superhero (Hob resents the word trying - he's a very good superhero thanks very much).

Dream is like "Well thanks very much but now I have to find all my stuff" and Hob is like "cool! I'll help!" So superhob and the sandman join forces, to look for the sand (Hob has a pretty good idea that Jo had some weird magic pouch at one point). Maybe along the way they discuss the whole 1889 misunderstanding. Dream admits that maybe they are friends now. Even if Hob’s superhero identity is kind of cringe.

I quite like the idea of Dream going to hell (and refusing to let Hob come), so while he's gone Hob goes and looks for the Corinthian and a lot of stabbing goes down, but ultimately Hob captures Cori and when Dream comes back, he finds his rogue nightmare bound up with ancient magic while Hob sits on his chest and smiles smugly.

Maybe Superhob is a little more competent than Dream was willing to admit...

UGH a babymoon with aaron 🥰🥰🥰 he'd be so so so sweet and even more attentive if it were possible - making sure you're hydrated, that you're getting your steps in, which is SO easy due to sight seeing and it's so exciting seeing new places!!! but he makes extra sure you're not overexerting yourself, insisting you sit and take a breaks here and there, and again, staying hydrated - the man has an extra water bottle on him at all times. and once you get back to the hotel, he's gently massaging your ankles and feet after a longgg day of walking 😭 and as the baby grows, it becomes a nightly ritual too because of your ankles swelling up, and aaron is more than happy to dote on you 🥺 you're doing all the hard work, so he'll help in any way he can <3

if you're nauseous :( aaron's more than willing to spend the day in the room with you <3 just laying in bed, giving you kisses, rubbing your belly gently and talking to the baby, saying sweet words and sometimes says something like "ease up on your mom please🥺" 😭😭 because you've just been in the bathroom all morning :( BUT you're literally not going to lift a finger on his watch. he fluffs your pillow, makes sure you're comfy in bed, draws the curtains if you need a break from the sun, makes sure the temperature of the hotel room is just right. and if you get nauseous while sight seeing :((( aaron pulls you to the side, finds a shady spot, and gives you some water - his eyes are full of concern and a tad touch of guilt - he feels bad because he wishes there was more he could do :((( because he greatly contributed to the newest member of the hotchner family, but yet you're the one dealing with the not-so-great parts of being pregnant :((( he gives you a second to see if it passes and if you feel alright/want to keep going, or if you prefer to go back to the hotel, that's perfectly okay too <3333

late night cravings? he'll run to the store if room service doesn't have what you want/is closed, regardless if he even knows where a store is due to being in a different county - he will find one 😭 AND!! before you even left for the babymoon, aaron does his research when it comes to restaurants, and makes an itinerary of places to go 😭 so you're getting all your necessary nutrients while away, what food options there are that you can eat while pregnant, etc..

finding out the gender while there too 🥰🥰🥰 hehe the two of you make a lil date night out of it - dressing up, a fancy dinner, and then finding a reallyyyy romantic place at sunset to open up that little card that has the baby's gender on it 🥰 or!!!! you find a local bakery and have them put blue or pink frosting inside 🥹🥹🥹

and after showing the fruit/veggie to show aaron once, just a cute - "hey look! this is the size of our baby :D" he has to download that app himself too for his phone - the one tells you what size fruit the baby is hehe 🤭 he'll consistently report the current size to you over breakfast <33333 he checks it like social media hehe <3

AND every month aaron insists on taking a polaroid of your baby bump progress 🥹🥺 hehe he loves comparing all the pics throughout the months and once the lil baby is a bit older - aka old enough to sit up hehe - he has them on their lap, and is showing them the pictures <3333 and tells them "that's you growing in momma's belly :D" 😭😭😭😭 and he takes sooo many pics of you sight seeing!!! hehe you have that pregnancy glow and he loves it, so he wants as many pics as he can get of you showing off that bump where your little one is growing <3333 so he'll show the baby those too!!! and tells them just look at all the places you've already been!!! while we were celebrating you!!! 🥰💓💞💕💓

Mikey tapped with a stick against a whiteboard that was at this point covered in a myriad of writing and drawings in all kinds of colors. The turtle mutant wore a serious expression behind his big round glasses. He was trying his best to gather the attention from the group that was sitting on the ground in front of him.

Raph had his typical smile on his face, his attention fully on his youngest brother while Donnie just eyed Mikey with narrowed eyes. He was sure that his younger brother got the whiteboard out of his lab and if he finds out that Mikey erased anything important for this weird little stunt of his, there will be hell to pay. April had her eyes narrowed as well but for a different reason. She just got off shift from her latest job and immediately came over to the lair since Mikey said there was an emergency only to see that whatever this was, was the emergency.

To everyone’s surprise even Splinter was in the room. He had his eyes closed as he stroked his chin deep in thought but if he really was busy thinking or in the middle of falling asleep could be anyone’s guess.

“Come on guys! We gotta make sure that all will go well as his family!” Mikey exclaimed loudly, trying to elicit a reaction from the group this time.

Knowing that Mikey will just keep them all stuck like this if they didn’t go somewhat along Donnie replied “Why, though? I have better things to do than sneak after Leo on his date.” He couldn’t help the sneer when he said the word “date”.

It was almost as if Donnie just insulted Mikey with the way he puffed up his cheek and threw his arms into the air, gesticulating wildly “Well! You know Leo! And you know Y/N!”

Donnie just stared him further down. This did not in fact answer his question in any way.

Raph, sensing that both Donnie and Mikey were slowly becoming more tense and annoyed, tried to mediate somewhat “Uh, how about you just go through all of this again? Maybe in an abridged version, lil’ man?”

Mikey’s hand slapped against his forehead and slowly slid down his face in annoyance “Ugh, fine!” he grabbed the whiteboard and flipped it around. He drew a quick picture of Leo’s smiling face on the board and another one of Y/N’s face.

He coughed to clear his throat as he tapped his stick against the whiteboard once again “Alright, guys! As we all know Leo has recently asked Y/N out on a date in the Hidden City. Not only is it his first date, it’s also Y/N’s first date.” His stick moved towards the Leo picture “Leo here is confident but also when it comes to emotions, he can be stupid at times!”

Now the stick moved over to the picture of Y/N “Now Y/N here is as we all know very nice and funny, but she is also very shy, so should Leo do anything stupid she wouldn’t say anything about it.”

Mikey slapped the stick loudly against his hand, he must have not expected this as well seeing how he had to shake his hand in pain “Now there is not a lot we could do to make sure that the date goes well in that regard, but we can make sure everything else will be fine! They are in the Hidden City and I swear every time we go down there something happens.”

“I mean not always though, Mikey, and I’m sure Leo will be able to handle anything that’ll come their way.” Raph mumbled out, scratching the back of his head.

This just made Mikey roll his eyes “Yeah, sure! But I feel like as his family it is our duty to make sure it’ll go well!” There was a short beat of intense silence before he continued “Also it’s been a while since Leo took time off like this. Ever since the whole Krang thing he’s been mostly concentrating on training and everything, so, I wanna make sure this will go well.”

This answer visibly satisfied Raph as he nodded along “Okay, yeah, you’re right. Let’s make sure it’ll go well.”

“Thank you, Raph!” Mikey sighed out, happy he managed to bring at least one of his family members on his side.

“I mean, I agree with you there Mikey, but also this kind of feels like an invasion of privacy…” April winced.

Mikey took a second to reply “You know Leo and Donnie didn’t really hesitate when you went out on a date with Sunita. “

A frown immediately appeared on April’s face “One! It wasn’t a date! We’re friends! Two! Okay, yeah fair and I am curious not gonna lie.”

Donnie suddenly gasped out in utter outrage “Really? You are just going to go along with whatever this is? Really, April? I thought better of you.” He huffed.

April snickered “Well you thought wrong, Donnie. I’m a journalist, snooping is what I do! Besides, for Y/N’s sake and our sisterhood that we both share, I gotta make sure she’ll be alright! Come on, I know you wanna come along as well!”

“Scoff. I have better things to do, thank you very much.”

“Donnie, even Splinter is coming along.”

“Dad? Really?!”

All eyes were now on the rat that was sitting quietly between his children.

He continued stroking his chin, opened his eyes to speak with a sagely voice “It’s simple. I’m a father. I am worried for my son’s well being and he is the first of my kids that is going out on a proper date. Of course, I want to make sure that he will be alright.”

Donnie did not trust a word his father just said to him. No, he knew there was something else. That’s when it hit him “Oh, Pizza Supreme, your favorite soap opera is on break isn’t it?”

Splinter nodded, somehow still trying his best to keep his wise aura going “And my soap opera is on break.”

“Come on, big bro, you know you wanna come along with us!” Mikey chimed in before Donnie could admonish his father even further. His eyes wide open and glistening. The puppy dog eyes combined with him calling Donnie his big bro was a powerful weapon for the most dire moments.

The purple ninja groaned angrily “Alright, I’ll come along but only because if Leo inevitably embarrasses himself, I want to be there. After all I do record everything.” His angry expression now exchanged for a devious one.

It was quiet for a very awkward moment before Mikey picked up the pace once again “Alright! Glad we’ve got this figured out! That said we should really be going because judging by the time they should have been gone for like half an hour now. I would say this is good enough space to ensure that they won’t suspect a thing. Let’s get going to Hueso’s!”

This is how the group ended up being spread in Hueso’s restaurant. Mikey somehow managed to infiltrate the kitchen, saying something that while he definitely trusts Hueso’s food, he’d make sure it’s extra perfect.

Raph was sitting in a booth, wearing a trenchoat and a hat while holding a huge newspaper to hide behind. April sat in front of him in a similar get up with another newspaper.

Donnie sat at a table with his father in a corner of the restaurant. Both wore their sweater vests combined with a fake mustache and glasses that Mikey insisted the two had to wear just to be sure. Honestly Donnie was just waiting for all of this to backfire horribly.

While all of them were spread around they all head a good view of Leo and Y/N who sat at their own table, munching on some Pizza while they chatted. Both leaning back in their own chair with soft smiles. The blush on Y/N’s face was obvious while the one on Leo’s face was more faint but still very much there.

Suddenly Raph’s voice rang in Donnie’s ear. Right, Mikey begged him that they get to use the little earpieces so they could communicate.

“How’s it looking gang?”

“How’s it supposed to look? They are just talking. It’s fine.” Donnie replied lazily as he grabbed a piece of his own pizza.

Splinter shook his head disappointedly “It is not fine, Purple! Can’t you see in their body language how this is not fine? I knew I should have taught Blue more about how to talk to a lady. They are barely looking at each other!”

“Uh, yeah, sure, that.” The others did not need to see April to know that she must be grimacing, since they were as well. None of them wanting to think about Splinter flirting with anyone. It was already hard enough to know that Big Mama was his ex.

Mikey’s voice appeared again “But yeah, the two look really more like two friends hanging out. I think the two might be too shy to try anything.”

April snorted “Can’t believe that I’m saying this, but I think you are right. Didn’t think I would see Leo being too shy for anything.”

“It’s infuriating to watch. The more I sit here the more I can’t understand how you keep watching shows all about romance.” Donnie muttered towards his father. The disdain clear in his voice.

“Just concentrate on helping Leo out and not the romance bits then.” Raph tried to reason with Donnie “Oh! There is way more sport here in the Hidden City. Boulder pushing? That sounds interesting.” There was a rustling as Raph moved the newspaper closer to properly take a look at the article “They have to balance at some point on a log and carry the boulder across! Guys! Doesn’t that kind of sound like when we do Pizza box balancing?”

More rustling as April flicked Raph on his arm “Sports can wait, Raph!”

He sighed, the edges of his mouth turned downwards “You’re right. Raph is sorry. This is about Leo and Y/N.”

“Well, what do we do?” Mikey piped up.

Splinter chuckled “Now, kids. All they need to be is in the proper mood. This place isn’t romantic enough in the least! I really need to talk to Blue about his choice of restaurant.”

“Actually, I think this might have been Y/N’s idea, Splints.” April brought up.

But this didn’t deter Splinter “And? Blue should know better! Can’t believe he is related to me.” He grumbled something more out, but it was unintelligible at this point.

“I think dad is right. The right mood could help both of them to finally open up more.” Mikey spoke, trying to move the situation along.

“It is good that you brought me along then, kids. I think it is time for some music. Music shall give both of them the courage to finally show what they each think of each other!”

“Wait, what?” Donnie exclaimed, shocked with what he just had to hear from his father “Oh, please, do not!”

But it was too late, Splinter took a deep sip from his water and began to silently warm up his voice. Raph also seemed to notice that there was no way to stop him now “Okay, I think this just means we have to help him somehow! We gotta move and help! Go!”

“Wait, what can we even do?” April asked.

“No idea but we gotta do something!”

“Please, someone, just kill me here and now.” Donnie muttered as he jumped off his chair to sneak off to meet up with the rest of his family.

At the other side of the room Y/N and Leo were still chatting.

Leo wouldn’t admit it, but he felt like he was sweating bullets. When he asked Y/N out on a date he did not think he would be this nervous but here he was sweating bullets while he bunched up the napkin between his hands.

“Can I admit something?” he made sure to put his typical smug smile on as he tried to look as nonchalant as possible.

“Sure, I’m listening.” Y/N smiled.

Leo couldn’t help but stare at her for a few seconds. One thing he appreciated about humans was how obvious their blush can be. It looked really pretty on Y/N and he secretly loved to make her blush whenever he got the chance.

Sure, he was blushing as well, he could tell with how warm his face felt but it was harder to see because of his green skin. Though he was glad about that fact, it helped as he tried his best to act confident.

He chuckled “Normally when I go out, I’m a bit… accident prone. I was sure that at this point something would happen. Not that I couldn’t handle it and get us through it.” He made sure to puff his chest up a little bit to look as strong and cool as possible.

Y/N’s smile widened, her blush darkening as she said the next words “Then let’s just, uh, take this as a good sign for this date.”

“Yeah. Heh, we are on a date!” He hummed happily as a response which made Y/N chuckle.

That’s when suddenly the lights dimmed. Leo tensed up as he looked around, not expecting this at all. Never has anything like this happened when he has been over at Hueso’s. Though when he saw that the other guests didn’t react much to it, he just assumed that he must be missing something. That said he did notice Y/N slighty raise her eyebrows. Obviously also not expecting this.

Leo shrugged and returned to properly look at Y/N. He had to admit it was a bit easier to look into her beautiful eyes knowing that it must be harder now to see his blush.

Summary: Y/N is helping Donnie with the lights for christmas since the family was so nice to invite them over for the holidays. Unbenkownst to the two the rest of the family is using this to finally set the two up via mistletoe.

Authors Note: I'm sorry this is so late but I've been busier than I thought I would be around this time but I still wanted to finish this request and post it. I know it's like a full month after the holiday season but I hope you will still enjoy this.

Y/N did not have anything planned for this holiday season and she was loving it. Her parents were living a few states over and decided to finally travel around for the holiday season since for their last wedding anniversary the family got together to gift them a vacation. The rest of the family was either too far away or decided to do their own thing as well and seeing how all her roommates were off to visit their own families for their respective holidays, Y/N had the small apartment for herself.

She didn’t need to decorate, she didn’t need to plan out a dinner with her family. No, she was just planning on sitting in her room with some microwavable food and watching one of her favorite shows on her laptop. The most stressful part would just be the phone calls on Christmas day but those would go over fast.

Now when her friends, aka the four turtle mutants and April, heard about this they were absolutely aghast. Some more than others. Apparently, they couldn’t allow Y/N being alone on Christmas Eve and promptly invited her over for the day. They even roped her into coming over every now and again to help with decorating, baking cookies and the like.

And while Y/N tended to get stressed out when it comes to social interaction, she actually enjoyed the time with them.

Everyone seemed to have their own job. Mikey took care of the food for the holidays, Raph and April were the ones looking for a Christmas tree, Splinter went into the Hidden City to deal with any kind of shopping, Leo took care of most of the decoration while Donnie helped him when it came to the lights and even the music. Though the others kept looking over his music choices just to be sure.

Since out of all the people Y/N got along with Donnie the best, he immediately assigned her to lights duty alongside him. He also might have used this as an excuse to start teaching Y/N about simple electronics and the like. Y/N once said that she would love to be able to actually talk with him about his inventions but just didn’t have the knowledge. Now he sometimes took the chance to begin teaching her things.

And Y/N has really been trying her best to follow along which Donnie noticed and appreciated hence why she was allowed to go into his lab with his permission when he wasn’t in the lair. Usually this would only happen when the group needed some technical back up during missions.

This usually ended up with Y/N hurriedly working on Donnie’s computer while Donnie’s AI Shelldon told her what to do. This was also the reason why Y/N and Shelldon were pretty much besties at this point. So much so that Shelldon would sometimes ignore Donnie’s orders to do some fun things with Y/N when she was around. During his rebellious phase he even snuck over to Y/N’s apartment to complain to her about Donnie.

The phrase “Y/N would let me do this.” Was sometimes heard thrown through Donnie’s lab ever since then.

This coupled with the simple fact that the shy Y/N but was the most comfortable with Donnie and since he himself acted more like a father towards Shelldon, the others would joke that the two were divorced and Shelldon was their child. The bot loves playing into it so much so that he was moaning about not having two Christmases when the others invited Y/N over for the holidays.

Y/N laughed as she wrapped the last bit of the lights around the tree that Raph brought in together with April, Shelldon hovered around her head, obscuring her vision “Shell, please, I can’t see where I’m putting the lights down like that. Besides if you get so close some of the pine leaves or the cable might get tangled up in your rotor blades.”

He did indeed fly to the side but not before bumping his little head against Y/N’s cheek “Don’t worry, dude. I, like, totally know what I’m doing.”

“Oh, that is straight up a lie, Shelldon.” Donnie hissed. He was sitting on a beanbag and was currently hastily repairing a cable with electrical tape that Shelldon accidentally ripped by tangling it up in his blades.

“That is in the past, bruh. I know better now.” The bot only replied as he slowly flew over to Y/N’s now free arms. She immediately caught him knowing this behavior of him pretty well by now. Frankly he loved being a bit more rebellious when Y/N was around and hanging around her since he knew that Donnie wouldn’t be outright mad at her.

And Y/N very much knew she was being used as a human shield but didn’t mind it too much. She loved the little guy after all. She might be shy and isn’t one to immediately shoot back a sarcastic comment, but she is content with teasing Donnie a bit by helping Shelldon.

Donnie just sighed “You are lucky that you only destroyed the outer layer and not actually the wire inside and be glad that your rotor blades didn’t get destroyed as well, then again, I would have been more disappointed in myself if a simple flimsy cable would destroy them.”

While Donnie spoke Shelldon leaned more against Y/N, she wasn’t sure if he just did it for show or if he actually enjoyed the contact. She knew he is a sentient AI but how far all of this went she had no idea.

When the robot didn’t respond Donnie turned around to see him snuggled up in Y/N arms. She would have expected a snarky comment from him but instead he looked almost amused. Maybe the holiday season was getting even to very matter-of-factly mutant.

Y/N couldn’t help but blush as he just kept staring at her and Shelldon with a raised drawn-on eyebrow and a soft smile.

He seemed to catch on himself that he was staring, he cleared his throat and walked towards the nearest wall to hang the recently repaired cable with the lights up.

“Okay, lazy bones, these are the last of the lights.”

Y/N might be shy, but she was at this point good friends with Donnie which meant she couldn’t let the insult stand like this “Lazy bones? Shell and I put on all the lights on the tree. We were the ones working while you were sitting comfortably on the beanbag.”

He let out an annoyed, yet clearly sarcastic, huff “Scoff! Backtalk from you? Shelldon is a bad influence on you, Y/N.”

Of course, Shelldon had to immediately roll his eyes “Sure. Anyway, if all the lights are up, do you want me to get the others to take a look?”

Donnie nodded as he took another look at the cables, checking if everything was connected correctly “Yes, that would be very much appreciated. I’m sure they want to see how this all turned on as well.”

Y/N let go of the little drone so he could fly off and call the others to the living room where the three have been working. It didn’t take long for the rest of the family to come sauntering into the room and take a look around to see the, turned off, lights all around them.

Mikey was carrying a plate with some decorated cookies, he walked around and happily pressed one into everyone’s hands. Y/N had to giggle when she saw that the cookie that she was holding was decorated with her own face. The cookie had blushing cheeks to properly show off how she tended to be around everyone. Looking over at Donnie’s cookie she could see his had pulled down thick eyebrows while still sporting a big smile. It made him look like some kind of evil scientist and honestly that tracked.

“May someone turn off the lights!” Donnie pointed into the air theatrically before biting into his cookie. Y/N just shily begun nibbling on her cookie. It was a good cookie! It was! She just felt a bit on edge seeing how everyone filed in to see what Donnie, Shelldon and, of course, she herself worked on.

Speaking of Shelldon, he was nowhere to be seen. Weird, Y/N was sure he would have loved to see the lights. Then again he has been up for a while maybe he took the time since the job was done to recharge?

“Turning the lights off!” Raphael exclaimed happily and did just that. Y/N instinctively stepped a bit closer to Donnie even though she knew there would be light in a few seconds anyway.

There was a soft click as suddenly the room was bathed in a soft festive light. Multicolored lights shone bright and illuminated the room. There were a few oohs and aahs as the family spun around to take a look how all the lights wrapped around the room and filled the room with its lights.

The tree, albeit without any decoration besides the lights yet, looked especially nice. It was then that Y/N realized that she was beginning to get into the whole festive mood as well. Her eyes wide open as she took everything in. She was excited. Excited to hang out with her second family.

“Now that’s what I’m talking about! Good job you guys!” April complimented their work.

Mikey was practically bouncing “Oh! I’m so excited! This looks already great if we add more decoration this will look fantastic!”

“And I already have plenty of ideas!” Leo added proudly.

“Yeah, you three did an awesome job.” Raph smiled as he took another moment to stare at the tree he worked so hard with April to bring into the sewers.

Donnie softly laid his hand on Y/N’s shoulder, which spooked her for a second, and addressed his family “Of course we did! After all Y/N and I here have fantastic eyes for aesthetics!”

Leo couldn’t help himself as he let out a snort “Y/N, maybe. You? Eh.”

This earned him a hard stare from Donnie and surprisingly Leo backed down, maybe he felt more charitable due to the season “Alright, alright. You do know what you are doing… sometimes. Good job, Don. You too, Y/N, of course.”

Y/N could only nod to that, happy that the family didn’t hate the work she put into all of this. Almost if Donnie could read her mind or sense her worries he squeezed her shoulder once more before letting go. Almost as if to say “See? All good.” But maybe she was reading too much into this simple interaction.

Suddenly Mikey began to giggle for no apparent reason but when Leo, Raph and April also sported mischievous grins suddenly Y/N thought that she must be missing something vital. Or they were laughing because of her, for some reason. Did she have something on her face?

Donnie turned around but saw nothing, looking confused at his family “Okay, why are you all looking like that?”

Mikey pointed up towards the ceiling “Someone already started with the decorations. Look, a mistletoe.”

Both Donnie and Y/N followed Mikey’s finger and looked up. What they saw was Shelldon who had a mistletoe strapped to his body.

Donnie let out a surprised squawk and jumped to the left, pulling Y/N along but Shelldon just followed along.

It was quiet but Y/N could hear how Leo sputtered out a silent “Wow, rude.” Towards his twin’s action.

No one dared to say anything. Y/N just kept staring at her hands as she kneaded them nervously. Her face felt like it was on fire, and she did not want to look at Donnie. Or rather she wished Donnie wouldn’t see her while her face was probably a good few shade darker.

A mistletoe. A tradition she hadn’t even thought about. Was this planned? Surely someone must have put it on Shelldon to begin with but why would anyone do that? Oh god they were all just looking at them. Can she run away? It’s not like the thought of kissing Donnie is gross or anything, in fact maybe her mind had wandered to this here and there, but this was a lot right now.

Did they somehow find out she had a crush on the purple genius? Was she too obvious? Hey wouldn’t it be funny if right now Hypnoptamus decided to pull something stupid and activate the brothers villain alarm thing? Honestly, if that would happen right now Y/N would personally thank him.

Finally, Y/N dared to look towards her best friend. He stood stock still. His eyes also downcast towards his hands. He was blushing? Y/N could tell he tried his best to scowl but hanging around him for so long she could tell it was more to save his bad boy persona than anything.

The way he mirrored the pose Y/N was just in she had to think that he must be going through something similar in his mind, like she just had. But that would mean that he might actually-

He suddenly turned to look at her. The way he looked so unsure. So self-conscious. It didn’t fit him.

It’s rare she saw him like this. Usually only when the two hung out late into the night and the two began talking about their personal issues.

“So, uh, a mistle-mistletoe. It’s a, uh, you kn-know what th-that means?” In that moment Y/N could have kicked herself. Of course, he would know! She wanted to lighten up the mood but then said this for some reason. Stupid! Stupid, stupid, stupid!

When Donnie didn’t react. Not even a flinch, a bat of his eyes, Y/N wanted to apologize. Maybe just give his cheek a peck and the family would have to be satisfied with this. The peck alone would be agonizing for Y/N but if it would mean the two could get out of this awkward standstill, she was ready to sacrifice herself like that. Donnie really looked like he was about to pass out.

Just as she made her mind up to do just that, to apologize Donnie finally moved. In a blink of an eye, he surged forward and pressed his lips against hers.

It felt like Y/N’s heart exploded in her chest. Donnie held onto Y/N’s arms tentatively more to probably ground himself rather than to hold her in place. She was sure that if she wanted, she could get out of his hold easily. But she didn’t.

The kiss probably only lasted a few seconds but it felt ten times more than that. She could feel the tremble in Donnie’s hands on her arms, his eyes pressed close and eyebrows pulled together while Y/N couldn’t help but stare.

When he let go and moved a step back, he turned to his dumbstruck family, apparently they didn’t think this would happen even if they might have set this up, and in a very shaky voice he turned to Shelldon “I will have a word with you later, mister.”

Y/N couldn’t help but move her fingers up to ghost over her own lips where Donnie just was moments before. Did that just happen? This wasn’t some weird dream, right? It happened all so fast.

Donnie returned his attention to his family “Happy now? Shoo you all. You have things to do, no?”

Thank Mikey for having the emotional intelligence of the family, he was the one who indeed shooed everyone away even while April and Leo had their mouths wide open and tried to fight against him. Raph simply picked the two up though and they left the room. Shelldon left as well, probably thought that if he stayed Donnie would start reprimanding him then and there.

Donnie turned to Y/N who was still standing around as if she was in a daze “Are you- Um, I just, my brothers were and uh, I just wanted them to- I’m sorry.”

But Y/N shook her head “It’s…” she tried to look for a more eloquent word that might calm him down but couldn’t land on anything better besides “fine.”

Donnie looked incredulously at her “It… is?” He was still blushing and in that moment the word cute popped inside Y/N’s head.

She nodded “I’m happy.” She said while letting out a deep breath of air. As if trying to release any tension she had in her body. She couldn’t help to chuckle out of pure euphoria, her crush just kissed her “I’m happy.” She exclaimed more confidently.

Donnie was just as nervous, but the tension seemed to slowly leave his body as well and he released a hearty chuckle “I am too.”
