One random funny shipping trope I like occasionally is when the same person ends up dating two members of the same family (either at the same time (dating the parent and their kid) or at different times (dating the parent/ancestor/elder and then dating the child/descendant/younger at a later date)

Some notable examples from my brain:

Urbosa x Botw Zelda's mother + Zelbosa

What can I say? I first saw the former on Twitter and loved the fanart/au ideas of this ship. Frankly, I like it on its own whether as an au where they got married/became partners, or even if it's a homoerotic friendship with unrequited feelings (on Urbosa's end at the very least).

As for the latter, it kind of just struck me when I first watched that memory in base botw where Urbosa is holding Zelda as she sleeps (tuckered out from surveying) and talks to Link about her. This scene really set Urbosa up as a comforting presence to Zelda, and the knowledge that Urbosa displays sets her up as someone just inherently close to her (or at least someone who has been watching her all this time)

Under the framework of this post though, I love to imagine that Urbosa either has/had a secret thing with Zelda's mother, watched over her diligently and tried to position herself as a helpful presence, and then once Zelda properly grew up and started to get older, feelings (on Zelda's side first) started to grow more uncertain. I'd like to think under this framework that once Zelda becomes an adult and comes to terms with these feelings, she becomes embarassed around Urbosa😂

Or, as someone I know once said "Don't you think it's funny? Urbosa had a thing with the mother and the daughter!"

I also can't help but think back to this post I saw on my for you page about how a "MILF" should specifically be a woman old enough to be your mother. So like. It's also funny to imagine like, a sweet childhood friends situation with past!Urbosa/Zelda's mom, but then Zelda being so down bad for a MILF with eventual Zelbosa

Botw Zelimpa + Zelpaya

Now, I've shipped Zelimpa in botw since Age of Calamity released. Real princess and her number one bodyguard kind of situation seemed to be going on there (for the record, I watched the trailer and played chapter 1 of that game). As for Paya/Zelda, I didn't really think much about it until I (1.) got into botw Zelimpa and (2.) went through Paya's diary in botw and it hit me that Paya could very plausibly be into both Zelda as well as Link.

Under the framework of this post, I really can't help but think of them like parallels to the movie Hook (Paralleling Peter/Wendy and Peter/Moira). In this case, it's funny to me to imagine Zelda having this deep bond and relationship between Impa during AoC era, and then 100 years later (post botw) when she finally meets Impa again, Impa introduces her to Paya. And while Zelda sort of slowly falls for Paya as they hang out and get to know each other and talk, the feelings hit Paya like cupid's arrow (I love you bi crisis Paya).

Nanago + Goyuu

This one sorta came about because (in addition to both of these ships) I like those aus where Nanami is Yuji's adoptive parent. And so it's funny to imagine a situation in which Nanago are exes and/or divorced, and then like years later Yuji and Gojo have one of those chance meeting x romcom romances where they both find out after the fact that Gojo was once with Nanami, but it ends up being Nanami who's the most annoyed and bothered about this situation in the end

Nanami really wishes his adoptive son would dump his ex's ass😂

Rigurd/Siguriddle + Hayariddle

This one's a bit different just because Hayato is Sigurd's reincarnation rather than Sigurd being Hayato's ancestor, but it’s close enough. And it's close enough because this is actually arguably pretty close to UR canon?😂

Like Riddle has an entire King and his most devoted servant/secretary thing going on. There is so much implying that Riddle was probably in love with him, if not that they actually were involved as a couple. And then after his lord (Sigurd) dies, he dutifully makes sure that his beloved's soul reincarnates properly. And then he watches over and protects Hayato (said reincarnation) as he grows up, sets his plans in motion and inserts himself into Hayato's life when Hayato turns 17, and then grows attached to him enough that when he finally ressurects his dear lord after centuries, he chooses his reincarnation over him. And if the ending of that manga tells me anything, it’s that Riddle really did get the King and his reincarnation 😂

Vintaker + R!Ciel/Undertaker

I haven't actually read far enough into BB to know a lot of details, but all I need to know is that the Undertaker may have been implied to be involved with generations of phantomhives, that he did canonically hang with Vincent, and that he's like the Sebastian to R!Ciel. Funny to imagine him involved with the father, and so too his precious dead heir that the undertaker went through the trouble of trying to bring back

Lansoni + King Sonic/Galahad

If you follow me you may have already seen me posting about them but regardless

Satbk is the only continuity where a version of Shadow (Lancelot in this case) is arguably Silver's (Galahad's) dad. I will be completely real with you it is so funny to imagine King Arthur "Sonic" Pendragon being involved in a relationship with two of his knights, both of which just so happen to be father and son. Shenanigans abound. It's funny to imagine

When their s/o sitting on their lap in public.

The first time you sit on their lap they get extremely nervous and blushing. They look around them to see peoples reactions “What will they think? Is this really ok?” are their thoughts. Poor souls aren’t used to this kind of thing. They probably tell you it is inappropriate but they don’t have the heart to push you away, they love you too much for that. Where are they going to put their hands? On your shoulders? On your thighs? Around your belly? Or should they first ask for your permission to even touch you? Help them s/o!! Try not to do it around too many people or even in front of their friends/leader, they might die of embarrassment!

Even when you have done this a couple of times they are still blushing and are a little nervous, but now they can put their arms around you and be a little more confident.

^ Benimaru, Souka, Geld? ^

These people LOVE it when you sit on their lap! You can do it whenever you want! When they sit and talk with their friends? Yes! While they are working? Of course! During the meetings? No problem! They will basically drag you to their lap and hold you with such pride and happiness. If you decide not to sit on their lap they might even look a little hurt and pout, but it gets over quickly.

If anyone questions it, they will be greatly offended. Like “How DARE you question us?” Is pretty much their reaction. (They might even start a fight, depending on who it is). They will continue to hold you anyway, it’s none of other people's business, they do as they want.

^ Veldora, Milim, Shion, Rimuru, Ranga, Rigurd ^

They get surprised at first and blushing, but they adapt pretty quickly. They don't mind at all, in fact they think it’s cute and nice that their s/o want to sit on their lap. It makes them feel happy that you trust them enough and want to protect you even more. It’s fine anytime, as long as it’s not in the way of work or during meetings. These people are pretty confident so they don't care what people think and say, what are they gonna do? Push you off? Then they must be very brave. However if their leader (if they have one) would tell them it’s inappropriate then they would simply tell s/o so, but if not then they would continue holding their s/o and looking at them with that loving and found smile of theirs.

^ Souei, Diablo, Shuna, Treyni, Guy, Kaijin, Shizu, Rigur, Carrion ^

“No dear s/o! No PDA, all cuddles and lap sitting is only for privacy!” They probably told you already from the start. If you decide to do it anyway, they will push you off and give you a glare that pretty much says “Not now. Later”. Teasing won't work either, sorry. BUT when it is finally just the two of you, they go all out! They hold you while they work, giving you a little peck sometimes. Putting you on their lap and might even feed you little sweets <3. If anyone disturb them while they have their bellowed alone time with s/o they will glare at however disturb them, still holding on tightly around their s/o. “Is it very important? Someone dying or what? No? If so, please leave”.

^ Leon, Gazel, Luminous, Hinata ^

These people are most likely the ones who are sitting on YOUR lap. Don’t get me wrong, they LOVE it when you sit on their lap, but they prefer to be the little spoon and getting ALL their s/o attention. They don’t care if people stare, in fact they get a little cocky and get a confident/ego boost. “Yes this is my s/o, aren’t they amazing?! And only I get their attention. It’s fully understandable if you get jealous”. They would most likely be a little jealous if you pay your attention to someone else but them.

Rimuru met you when he heard a sudden fight happened in the Jura Forest. Gabiru, Ranga, and Rigurd were fighting against you but you kept spitting words that they are a monster and shouldn't be wandering freely in the forest.

He was immediately intrigued by your sword skills! He also notes that you were...well...a 'bit' obsessed with swords.

Well! That's fine! After he has swordsmen and a blacksmith that can make any sword for you!

I'm talking about Benimaru and Hakurou, those two will be also intrigued by your skills, Hakurou would test you and Benimaru would be like asking how is it like controlling floating swords (According to YanQing's boss fight)

Whenever you come into a tensed situation, you somehow know how to cheer them up! Cause after all you were a ray of sunshine despite your aggressive personality when you see a emo guy who has dark blue hair.

You love love LOVEEE Rimuru's slime form because he looked so squishy and cuddly! that you almost suffocated him-

Oh well! He sure slithered out of your grasp but could not escape when Shion and Shuna are fighting over him more like pulling him to oblivion

Of course you still endlessly warn Rimuru about a certain dark blue haired Stellaron Hunter. Rimuru reassured you that Stellarons don't exist in Jura Tempest because it's guarded by Veldora.

You fear Shion's cookings like how you have ptsd from a dark blue haired guy, ever since you saw her cooking—You NEVER ever ate a single dish of Shion even after Rimuru's ascension to a Demon Lord, which caused all the monsters in his genetic system that gave them new skills.

You definitely don't like Diablo. That's what I'm gonna say, although he's kind to you, you are growling like a Chihuahua at him Rimuru or anyone who's there has to hold you back to avoid you pouncing on him

You also love Shuna's ability to make amazing clothes! Ever since then you have been wearing clothes that are made by Shuna, it definitely makes you look pretty while being a literal chihuahua in disguise-

-When an explosion in the middle of the night woke most of the growing village up, most of the warriors were quickly up in arms, thinking it was another attack.

-Rimuru was understandably upset as they had just finished rebuilding from the last attack, where Shizu had been overtaken by Ifrit, and the newcomers that came in the form of the ogres have helped with the process.

-Rimuru just wanted to have a moment of peace once in a while!!

-Rimuru arrived on top of Ranga, seeing Rigurd keeping the others back from a smoking crater, just outside the village, damaging nothing other than some nearby forest plants, “What’s happened Rigurd?”

-The ogres arrived shortly after, Shuna holding onto her brother’s arm, “I sense a tremendous amount of magical energy, but it seems to be fading.”

-The slime bounced over, telling the others to stay back, just in case if there was a threat and he peeked into the crater, finding the crumpled body of the most beautiful woman he had ever seen, even more so than Shion!!

-You had long hair, two toned colored of pink and green, reminded Rimuru of Sakura mochi, some of it pulled into braids, and the rest flying free, wearing a black uniform with long green socks, but many parts were torn, showing off pieces of your beautiful body.

-You were heavily injured, your breathing labored as you were unconscious, a ribbon like sword laying around you, the hilt clutched in your dominate hand.

-Rimuru scanned you and almost instantly received the information about you, *L/N F/N, was sent to this world by powerful demonic magic. Originally from your world where she lived in the Taisho Period. Occupation- Demon Slayer. *

-He hummed quietly before making the decision to take you in, telling the others to prepare a room for you as he hopped down into the crater, enveloping your body into his own body, healing your wounds before he lifted you out of the crater.

-Many were surprised to see a human as Rimuru pulled away from you, taking on his human form as Benimaru kneeled down, sensing your strength, “She’s a human but there’s something… unusual about her. There’s an unnatural strength inside her, but I can sense nothing amiss.”

-Rimuru nodded softly, agreeing with him before telling everyone that you had come from another world, which shocked many of them, as usually those from other worlds are insanely powerful or have been given dangerous abilities.

-Rimuru made the decision to bring you back to his own house, to watch over you just in case if you were going to be a threat. Shion offered to remain as well, to protect her lord but he was able to convince her that he would be able to handle it.

-You woke up a few hours later and almost immediately lunged up, as you had been locked in battle with a powerful demon and you gasped, finding yourself in a simple yukata and your sword was laying nearby.

-You heard a strange sound, one that sounded like water, and you turned, seeing a slime bouncing over to you, “You’re awake!” you squeaked, panicking as you tried to scramble back, “What is- a demon?!”

-Rimuru hopped to sit in front of you, “Nope- I’m just an adorable little slime! My name is Rimuru!” while a bit thrown off to learn that this wasn’t a demon, but a creature known as a slime, you calmed down, “A slime? Where- wait! Where’s the demon?!”

-Rimuru changed into his human form, which shocked you, making you squeak as you fell back again, scared, “Whoa there- you’re safe here! You were transported to this world, just like me! I used to be a salaryman in modern day Japan!”

-His words confused you, not sure about what he meant about modern day Japan, because you didn’t know of an occupation called a salaryman.

-Rimuru was very informative, answering all your questions, curled up in your arms against your large chest, which you weren’t bothered by, seeing it as something harmless as he was only a child, not realizing the truth of the matter, even though he did tell you.

-Rimuru introduced you to Rigurd which was a good idea to do it in his house rather than out in the village, as you punched Rigurd, sending him flying, thinking he was a demon. Rigurd harbored no hard feelings as you groveled before him after Rimuru explained that the demons you knew didn’t exist in this world.

-Rigurd wasn’t bothered, finding your strength impressive for such a delicate looking human, which made you blush cutely from the praise before you told them that your muscles were extremely dense which gave you your unnatural strength but with a drawback being your metabolism was very high.

-Rimuru was furious, learning how you had been treated as you walked around the village with him in your arms, introducing you to others, including the ogres who were nice, but Shion was jealous, pouting at you were holding Rimuru.

-You handed him over and she snuggled him hard, cheering her up while Rimuru was scolding you, with no real malice, telling you to save him as he was handed to Shuna.

-Benimaru, Souei, and Hakurou were all intrigued with your sword and skills, as was a dwarf blacksmith, Kaijin, who was in awe of the craftsmanship of the blade, seeing how flexible but so strong the whip like blade was.

-Since there was no way back to your world, Rimuru offered you a place in his village and you were grateful, bowing lowly to him, thanking him for his kindness and you became one of the defenders of the village, alongside the ogres, and Rimuru’s private pillow, as he enjoyed sitting on your lap, switching between you and Shion at random, usually when Shion would get pouty if Shuna didn’t want a turn.

-You found a kinship with Rimuru as you had both been suddenly taken from your lives, thrown into a world you knew nothing about and had to survive in such a dangerous and harsh world. He enjoyed your company as while your looks and strength were a bit odd, you were a sweet and gentle person, one that was calm and soothing for him, and you found Rimuru to be funny but also a good friend and leader to all.

-You were so happy to have made such good friends with such a cute little slime.

Ever since Veldora had been released there was a slight uneasiness deep down inside of him. Like some part was missing if he were to put it in words. While you have never met Veldora and both of you are aware of that fact he feels a strong familiarity with you.

“Rimuru my buddy! I have a small favor to ask of you-!” Veldora bursts into Rimuru’s office as boisterous as ever, however, as confident and self assured Veldora was when it came to you he was a person lost in the middle of the mediterranean sea on a raft.

Rimuru turned to face the storm dragon with an raised as he answers the behemoth of a man, “What is it Veldora? You almost never come to me for help unless it’s super important or intense” Veldora tensed up for a moment before letting out a defeated sigh, throwing himself limply into Rimuru’s couch.

“I know that you’re the only person who actually really knows Y/N…I’ve wanted to ask him to take a walk with me for the longest but I have no clue how to…” The demon lord cackles at Veldora’s immense dread over asking you a simple question. “You ask him just like that Veldora— you don’t need to make it a huge deal im sure Y/N would love to walk with you!” Rimuru explains between laughs, however his explanation was just enough to push the dragon who leaped out the couch and ran out of Rimuru’s office to find you leaving the poor slime.

You were talking to Shuna and Rigurd about who knows what honestly. The conversation was pleasant though, well until the tornado called Veldora came running straight towards you, unable to stop himself in time runs into you practically tackling you to the ground.

“What the hell Veldora??” You yelled looking down at the dragon groaning in your chest. “Well…that wasn’t part of the plan…ow…” Veldora mumbled before quickly getting up and facing you with a determination enough the break the heavens. “Y/N! I would like it very much if you joined me on my walk today, if that’s alright with you of course..” Your sour expression quickly changed to excitement as you stood up facing Veldora with a smile and happily nodding your head in agreement.

The walk was moderately quiet for majority of the time, Veldora would occasionally tell a small story about a certain area he was familiar with but that was about all. Until you reached a beautiful lake, the sky was still moderately bright with a fur warm hues streaking across it. You marveled at the sight as Veldora lead you to a smooth section in the grass and plopped down resting his arms behind his back looking up at the sky. You followed suit and sat down next to his with your legs crossed (A/N: Criss cross apple sauce style)

After a good whole of silence Veldora clears his throat his face slightly flushed possibly with embarrassment as he turns to you. “Say…Y/N…I wonder if we ever knew each other in a past life, you just seem so familiar to me…and I feel comfortable with you, I’m sure this sounds really odd to you—“ Veldora rambles still flustered but also with a look of determination and purpose, he was clearly being sincere and you for sure could tell.

“I don’t think you’re too far off Veldora, I wouldn’t be surprised if we did used to know each other in our past life, but this isn’t our past life. I’m happy that I know you now!” Veldora’s eye brighten as he nods and scoots a little closer to you grabbing your hands in his.

“Forgive me for my boldness but i’ve fallen completely and utterly in love with you Y/N, I feel like a puppy always wanting to follow you around and gain your affection” Veldora blurts out, for how long you two have known each other this honestly shouldn’t have been a huge surprise but it was, to you at least~

And that’s it folks, it’s pretty short ikik and it probably sucks but this is sort of a test for me to see how well I can get used to tumblr’s format
