I did what any other overly emotional person would do - I went shopping. My latest sticker purchase from RedBubble.

People will really order 26 ketchup packets for a 6pc nugget, get 25 and hold a grudge for the next decade.

Why do people feel the need to mess every single item up that they see in a store and not fix it/ pick it up and put it back no matter how little effort it requires. Like you drop something or you fold a shirt in half/ put it upside down you’re just like hm yeah. Actually let me make a minimum wage worker put it back for me like they’re my maid instead of taking 2 seconds to put it back correctly. This applies to grocery stores too! I’d have someone putting fucking frozen items back on a dry shelf!! Like wtf!! Just bring it up to us or we’ll put it back! Take another 2 seconds of effort to make someone’s already difficult job that they don’t get paid enough for a little less difficult! People are so fucking entitled now, and most of the people doing this shit are grown ass adults!! Who claim that we’re the ones who are lazy!!

I can't tell you how many times a week I hear boomers say "no one wants to work anymore!" and then continues to shit on millennials and gen z for being "lazy" and "entitled"
Well Karen the problem isn't that they're lazy it's that they don't want to work at a 9 to 5 job that will slowly eat away at their mental health for pay that isn't even enough to cover the cost of living. Also they want healthy work/life balance and as someone who works in retail, it's really god damn hard to have a personal life when you're working a 9 to 5.
When jobs say they offer "flexible schedules" it's a lie. Once you're hired they'll schedule you up to six days a week (if you allow them) and if you have a day off they call and ask you to come in to cover call off's.
Let's talk about call off's. People don't call off these days because they are sick except when COVID first started. People call off because they are tired, they are over worked and need some time breathe and remind themselves that there's a whole world outside of work. They also call off because they're sleep deprived. There are people that will work a closing shift and will have to come in again in the morning or "clopenings" as we're starting to call them. People need sleep man.
So there you go Karen if you want people to start working again then get people to complain to companies and remind them that thier employees are PEOPLE not just numbers or machines. Human beings need to rest and the cost of living is expensive now. Companies need to start realizing this or pretty soon there will be no workers at all anywhere in the U.S. Thank you for coming to my TED talk.

biggest pet peeve as a cashier
when you have a fuck ton of items and you bring your cart all the way to the front of our belt to unload, that's what the belts fucking for, it's so you can unload while i put it through and there's no delay between placing items and scanning items

Between The Smiles: Challenges Of Employee
Check the link below on managing smiles :)
Today, I went to a mobile network store nearby to get my sim card replaced. When I arrived, the employee named Pooja asked for my identity card and seemed to be having a casual chat among her colleagues about their lunch plans, to order through an online food delivery app. One of the employees, Maya, was very friendly and engaged in conversation with me about my life, asking where I reside and…

I used to be the flavor of autistic that made listening to loud/shrill music painful but I would intentionally overstimulate myself so I could dissociate and now my instinct is to dissociate instead of taking measures to stop being overstimulated.
That's also why I'm so good at retail.

I'm really out sick for a week, decide to try and work, end up getting sent home after an hour just to be informed that the cunt of a manager on service that day wanted to write me up "for showing up sick". At least the manager I spoke to on the phone wasn't actually going to do it. Like sorry for trying to show up??? I wish I were a starfish rn.

Rambling rant ahead. I stg as a retail employee I don't get paid enough for this shit. In my experience I walk into the back room have to clean up other shifts messes before I can even start my job and then when I do I end up doing other people's jobs?? Like yo i don't get paid to do the amount of work it should take 2 people to do lmao not to mention me damaging my body slinging around heavy boxes in a fast paced enviroment. Then when I get to the sales floor I have to deal with customers being complete assholes, risk catching c0vid, spots for items being full of the wrong items, and managers asking "you gonna get it done? Is it done yet? When will this be done?" And essentially if I didn't live at home still my full time paychecks would have me living paycheck to paycheck and I wouldn't be able to save up money. Shits crazyy. Okay rant over lmao

Retail Life Lesson Of The Week #1:
If your cashier looks like he/she is ready to end it all... Please know that it's only because of
1. They just dealt with the most difficult Karen that they've encountered that week and let me tell you from experience, those drain the energy from a person's soul.
2. They didn't get to eat during their lunch break or no one has relieved them for a lunch break. When you work any service job the one thing you look forward to most in the day is your lunch break because that's 30 to 45 minutes you don't have to deal with anyone other than your co-workers. If we have to wait for this break longer than we should or don't get the chance to actually eat, then you will turn into the exact opposite of what a customer service representative is supposed to be.
3. They've been working multiple days in row with only one day off a week. This is the worst because it doesn't matter how many of sleep you get you never feel rested. This comes from an effect that long work weeks have on your brain if you have to be in the same place, seeing the same shit day in and day out it fools your brain into thinking you never leave that place except for that one day off. This effect is real it's not a joke.
4. Working the holiday season and Black Friday. Fuck this shit this will take the most out of any retail worker. This season feels like a hell that will never ever ever ever end and leaves you begging for the sweet embrace of death.
So if your cashier looks like this, if he/she sounds like they are at their breaking point then they probably are. Do them a favor...
If you notice your cashier in this condition please have mercy on him and don't make things more difficult than they already have been for them.
Stay tuned for lesson two!
