On June 24, 2022, the Supreme Court released their decision in Dobbs v. Jackson Women’s Health Organization — dismantling Roe v. Wade.
But, American voters have not sat idly by.
Michigan voters approved an amendment protecting abortion access in the state constitution.
Similar amendments moved forward in California and Vermont, where abortion rights were already protected.
In Montana and Kentucky, voters rejected measures that would have restricted access to reproductive care.
Together, we have power.

my uterus tried to kill me
Besides being married for nearly 10 years, my only other relationship was 2 years with my high school boyfriend (I do loyalty really well!) who left me for someone who would fuck him.
I think he thought I lied about getting my period more than once a month as an excuse not to fuck, which, if he had asked me AT ALL instead of making an assumption, I could have told him my surprise periods are related to stress, and are quite common in people who menstruate. I got my period twice a month in October-November due to exam stress for exactly 7 years, from Grades 10-12, then 4 years of an undergrad degree + post grad. It MAGICALLY stopped the year after I graduated.
MAGICALLY.
Not to mention that years later I would nearly die from menorrhagia.

with womens rights in regards to reproductive health now in the spotlight, its more than fitting to talk about the fuckery in regards to MY reproductive health. today i was finally, after years of suspecting it, diagnosed with PCOS. i knew something was amiss since 2016 when my periods became abnormal and heavy, to the point i was soaking up super plus tampons in an hour. the cramps were so bad it went to my groin. i did research on what it could possibly be, and when my symptoms matched with pcos, it made sense, especially since i was predisposed. over the corse of the next couple of years i went to two gynecologists in the same practice complaining of my issues. the first one didnt ask me questions and just said here take birth control. the second gynecologist WHO I AM ATONISHED knowing i was predisposed told me the only way to solve this was to put a baby in me. which still trying to figure out MY CAREER and find a relationship is impossible to do at this point in my life. he then said well the next step is birth control. while nexaplanon did relieve my symptoms, making painless and light periods, saturday i started bleeding and cramping EVEN WORSE than before nexaplanon. i had to leave work early due to the pain, the bleeding and the migrane thanks to my anemia made it hard to focus. finally after going to the right gyno i got properly diagnoised with PCOS. while i am relieved that i will finally get the right treatment i needed all along, i am also furious. i am furious i went through over five years of unnecessary suffering because the gyno refused to listen to me because "my biogical purpose is having babies" my story highlights an issue BEYOND abortions. in general women's health issues continue to be ignored when it should not be. we need to do better! we need to listen to women when something is amiss. my pcos should have been dealt with a long time ago and im pretty sure my story is the same as others. we need to do better. #womensrights #womenshealth #womensrightsarehumanrights #reproductivehealth #pcosawareness #pcos https://www.instagram.com/p/CdbzO0sun_S/?igshid=NGJjMDIxMWI=
