Hello everybody, thank you for your support! I thought about opening a patreon page, but my full-time job won't allow me to post there everyday :С Next best thing seems to be redbubble, where I will be able to list prints of my arts. What do you think? Would you support your favourite artist on redbubble? If you've ever used it, what is your feedback as a seller/buyer?

One Direction: Breaking Bad
A fanfic I wrote. A Breaking Bad AU. Jesse and Walter completely live in the van. Walter is evil.
Jesse Pinkman makes a big mistake in the van... So Walter White takes it into his own hands. What happens when 5 boys arrive after seeing an ad in the streets of Albuquerque?
Find out... In One Direction: Breaking Bad.
(Jesse POV)
“BITCH!” I screamed.
Tumblr media
And just like that, all of our test tubes were knocked over. They shattered on the ground, and in that moment, I saw my terrified expression in the shards as they split into smaller pieces.
I felt sick. I wanted to throw up.
“Jesse, you idiot!” My bald mentor scolds me. “That’s the fifth time this has happened! I can’t afford any more test tubes! Jesse, there’s a shortage of those i the country right now, Jesse. They cost so much. Jesse!” He grabs me by my scruff and dangles me above the floor. “We sold all of our meth already. But I don’t have enough money for test tubes. Damn it.”
“Yo! Walter White! I was - I was -”
“I watched Jane die,” Walter White spat at me.
“Ok” I said sadly. More like Walter Freak, I thought to myself. I didn’t continue my sentence. My scruff hurt as he dangled me above the ground.
“I’m sick of this. I’m sick of you! You know, Jesse, you’re expendable. You’re just a company resource. You’re as replacable as the shoes I would stomp on you again and again, if I weren’t holding back.”
“Let go of my scruff, yo!” I frowned.
“Fine” Walter said as he threw me on the ground. He stomped away angrily, leaving me by myself in the van we called home.
(Walter POV, 1 day later)
“That aught to do it.”
Tumblr media
I stapled the advertisement to the tree near the street. I laughed evilly.
“I will sell Jesse to someone, and then I will get enough money to buy new test tubes and materials.” It was a perfect plan. Though, I would be the ultimate judge. I would only sell Jesse to a buyer who is a good singer.
My favorite band is One Direction. I was going to go to a concert next week, but I won’t have enough money unless this twink gets sold, I thought to myself.
Just as I thought about that thought, 5 familiar boys approached me, their eyes locked on the advertisement...
(Jesse POV)
I was dressing for another day of sitting around smoking weed in the van. I put on my favorite Firestar (Warrior Cats) shirt from Redbubble and my baggy jeans. I threw on my Aoba Seragaki cosplay jacket. I looked in the mirror and frowned. My hair had grown out since I began living in the van. I needed a new style, this shit sucked.
I put it in a messy bun. I smiled. I looked like a cute babygirl but a boy. Then, suddenly, the door opened.
“Yo, Mr. White! Are you back with some yaoi, bitch?” I asked. Walter White was also a male fujoshi (not fudanshi it’s different).
“Jesse.” He looked really serious. “I sold you.”
“Bitch?” I began crying.
“Meet your new owners.” Then, 5 boys walked in...
Tumblr media
It was... One Direction!!!!!
“Yo, Mr. White, is this some kinda prank?” I was so confused that I cried even more.
“They paid over the 5,000 I had set for you. They paid me 10 million dollars, in exchange for your cooking skills.” He grinned and shook Harry’s hand.
I was shocked. Liam smiled at me. He had one of those rare smiles with a quality of eternal reassurance in it, that you may come across four or five times in life. It faced, or seemed to face, the whole external world for an instant and then concentrated on you with an irresistible prejudice in your favor. “My cooking skills, bitch?!”
Louis shot me a wicked smile. “The meth cooking skills. We think you could be... of special use, with that.”
Zayn gave me a signature 1D stare. “Yes... Yes. You have a boyish exterior too,” he said, calculating and breathing heavily. “The sort of exterior that makes concert halls bustling. The sort of exterior that brings you to stardom.”
Harry let go of Walter’s hand, and bared his fangs at me. Was... Was Harry Styles a vampire?!?!?!??!
“You see, Harry, um...” Louis looked really serious and began crying. “Harry got bitten by a methpire... Now HE’S a methpire!!!!”
I tilted my head like a cute anime girl. “What’s a methpire?”
“It’s like a vampire, but instead of blood, it’s meth. You don’t snort it or anything, you just put it in your mouth and absorb it into your fangs. It doesn’t get you high or anything, but it’s the only way a methpire can feed.” Harry looked really hungry. “I haven’t had meth to eat in months.”
“He’s starving!” Liam cried. “He’s going to shrivel up into ash and die if we don’t do something! Please, Jesse! You must cook for us!”
I looked at Walter. Then I looked at Liam again.
“Do I have any choice, bitch?” I asked.
Walter White snarled at me like a wolf ready to pounce. “No not really”
“Ok”
And that was the day.... My life changed forever.

Re: Redbubble & Alternatives
Redbubble is doing some nonsense and I've deleted my account. I barely bothered with it anyway, was mostly there for people who've asked for specific images as posters.
Anyway in doing that I sacrificed the $4.35 that was still sitting in my earnings. They only let you cash out at $20, so rather than drum up sales and therefore make Redbubble more money, I'm gonna do what I feel is $4.35 in anti-publicity for them. 🥳
tl;dr there are new fees that hurt artist income at all sales levels. Redbubble is either looking to cut costs and raise profits for funsies, or is in serious financial trouble.
About the new fees:
Redbubble offers their services to artists by allowing artists to control their profit margin above a certain baseline manufacturing fee. This was pretty cool! There's now an additional fee that will be charged starting May 1, 2023. It is not an upfront fee that requires you to pay out of pocket, but it does directly cut your profit margin. How badly? Well...
By Redbubble's own example, if in one month you sell $300 in products that you had set at a 25% margin, you'd previously earn $75. Under the new structure, that earnings level means you pay a $28 fee, so you will now be paid $47. That $28 represents a 37% cut off what you were supposed to earn.
There's a full fee table in that link, but other highlights include a $1 fee if you earned $2 (aka 50%!) and big sellers who'd expect to take home $400 will now receive $320 (an $80 fee, 20%).
It also puts you in a weird spot that earning $1 more in a month may bump you to the next tier, causing you to actually take home less money. Make $1 more, end up losing $11. Make it make sense. 🤨
About the new tiers:
Each shop is evaluated and labeled Standard, Premium, or Pro. Premium and Pro shops are not subject to the new fees, but there's no clarity on how to move from one tier to another. Redbubble says it's under your control but it's clearly not. Many artists are reporting that they have accounts with next to no sales that have been labeled Pro, and accounts with thousands of annual sales that are labeled Standard.
Action items:
Look, I'm not gonna tell other artists that they have to close their shops, or tell buyers not to buy from Redbubble if your favorite artists have chosen to stay. What you do with the above info is up to you.
What I will say is that many artists are leaving because the new pay structure sucks. I encourage people who buy from Redbubble to expand their support to other sites.
Attrition is arguably their goal here—they know people will leave over this, and that'll probably lower their costs and lower competition for the remaining accounts. But goodwill is lost easily and they're playing a dangerous game on betting how many stay vs. leave. I'm out.
Feel free to leave your feedback on Redbubble's feedback form here, but it feels slightly like yelling into the void.
Alternatives:
tbh I don't have a good read on things. If you do know of any recommended (or unrecommended) print-on-demand sites, speak up!
I will say that as of now (April 2023), based on my research:
🟢 INPRNT sounds like a winner if your game is art prints and stickers. Does not have any wearable products like t-shirts.
🟡 Etsy + Printify/Printful might be viable? Etsy always had higher profit margins than POD marketplaces, but it's a bit more work and they also do weird things occasionally. Also has a listing fee so if you're the type to upload a ton of designs, pricey.
🔴 Teepublic is owned by Redbubble. Doesn't have the tier/new fee structure as of now but might be imminent. Have also heard their customer service sucks.
🔴 Society6 is going to charge artists shipping costs, and there's going to be a (mandatory?) subscription service launched in the fall, so that's not a winner anymore either.

Do these thief Redbubble stores even actually SELL the items or do they just steal people's art, set a price for fake items, and make as much cash as they can without sending anyone anything?
Redbubble is a company that handles the production and shipping of the item, but they don't have a good system for artist and design protection on there.
Thieves can literally just: google an image or artwork, save it and upload to Redbubble, set a price and leave it be. Redbubble will sell and advertise for them on their own end and the thieves will make money from stolen designs without doing any work whatsoever.
However because of how the thieves set it up, 99% of the time the product the tricked buyers recieve are going to be low-quality and often blurry images on their products, some of them with the real artist's watermark half-chopped off.

For any fellow artists out there: Redbubble has introduced a new tier system for its sellers. You cannot opt out, nor can you petition to change your tier. Redbubble will have full control over it. The Standard level (that I imagine a lot of fandom individual artists are at) has a “monthly fee” that will be applied whenever you make sales. This fee is up to about 40% (of the roughly 25% you take home anyway)! The example they use is that if you sell $300 with a profit margin of $75, you’ll be given a ~fee~ of $28, and you’ll only take home $47.
They, of course, are saying this is for the good of the entire community, both buyers and sellers. It’s not. It’s just an exploitative cash grab.

Do You Want Invincible Ink Stuff For Decemberween?
Decemberween is coming! Decembeween is oh so near! Decemberween is for giving! Decemberween is almost here! Decemberween, Decemberween, it’s fifty-five days after Halloween!
If you are at all interested in Stuff I’ve Made as products for presents for people in the coming months, I’d like to make this my official opportunity to tell you to go check them out now. It’s November, it’s near the end, if you’re in the Mainland USA or Canada (which my metrics indicate you are), and if you want something to arrive for you over there in order to give it to someone as a gift, now is a good time to set aside some coins and check out the stores for our stuff!
Here, let me show you the kinds of things I make that you may want to spend some money on!
First of all, there’s a bunch of stuff on my most successful store, the Redbubble Store! This is a place where you can buy stickers of the different designs I’ve done, which includes these delightful ones:
And my shirts, which includes these designs that have been popular this year. Well, people have bought them this year. The point is, these are shirt designs I made, and these two designs represent designs people have bought as shirts, and not just as a stickers. I particularly want to shout out the buyer in Germany who bought a Thule Things Infant Onesie.
But hey, you might think ‘Talen? that guy makes games, why is he mentioning t-shirts as his most successful store?’ Well, you can get games too!
Almost all of my games are available at DriveThruCards as print-on-demand. This is a great way for you to grab them, they’re fast and they’re delivered in sometimes as little as a week. I like them a lot, I think they’ll meet your needs really easily again, if you’re in the mainland USA, you can buy them and they’ll arrive in a quick enough time!
If you’re looking for a game in my portfolio to check out, I want to recommend some games that I think hit a certain kind of interest:
Fabricators is a dense, replayable economy game like San Juan, but built out of a single deck of cards, and with a thematic space that doesn’t represent its economy structures as being about Just More Colonial Capitalism.
Good Cop, Bear Cop, is a hidden identity secret role game where players don’t have to talk to each other directly and deal with the ensuing anxiety. It’s meant to be faster and less pure than the games like it, so that players have more room to let the game choices communicate for them.
Dark Signs is a horror-themed strategy game which I’m still incredibly happy with! It’s a strategy game, it works across multiple rounds, and the theme and aesthetic hold together in a way I really like. It’s one of my oldest games now and it’s one I still think is one of the best.
Hook, Line & Sinker, is another small bluffing game about con artists improvising an optimal plan before the snitch in the party outs them all, it’s cheap, and it plays really quick. If your play group wants things to do while other players are rounding out larger, slower games, grab a copy and jam it in the collection!
Dog Bear is a single book, fast-start RPG that I promote as a way to get people into roleplaying games without any challenges making characters. It’s meant to give you the tools you need to tell a short story about Metal Gear Solid style characters completing a mission, told in flashback.
Our most successful and beloved game, LFG: Looking For Group is a simple drafter where you’re trying to build a team of adventurers to go on a quest, and they all beat each other up on the way out the door.
Sector 86 is a big deck, single deck game where you build your own space station, with a push-your-luck mechanism. It’s a game with a lot of dedicated work in building out the flavour and giving players things to do in the course of their day, with a really simple set of mechanisms for playing the game.
Finally, if you like the microgames like Hook, Like & Sinker, you should check out some of our other microgames, like Cat & The Mouse (a two player stealth game), Senpai Notice Me! (a multiplayer trading game about girls kissing girls), The Botch (a game about ruinously complex failed heists and bluffing your way through it), and You Can’t Win (a simple negotiator game about trying to win tricks in a way that mean you can win the last trick).
But if you’re not in the mainland USA, these shipping rates can get pretty hard and you might not be able to afford them. But if you still want some Invincible Ink games, and if you like craft projects, I’d like to recommend you check out our line of games, for the Print and Play options. These are all priced to be compared to numbers we find funny, like the value of a Tumblr Verified Stamp.
If you’re at all interested in making Print-And-Play versions of these games, you’re going to want access to some printable sticker paper and some cardboard. The cardboard can be anything, like a cereal box, if that’s your jam, and then you apply them together. It’s something that you can do a really nice job of if you take some time to do it.
I really recommend checking out print-and-play games as a sort of craft project. They take you away from the keyboard and screen, and when you’re done, you have something you can play with. There are ways to do fancy edging and corners on your cards with little hand tools like a cheap, ~$12 corner cutter kinda device. Consider that the bigger games can be around 120 cards, which can be a lot of time to make. Don’t feel you need to rush!
Anyway, this is hopefully useful advice for you if you’re interested in the kinds of things I make and think ‘Oh I should do that as a present for someone.’ This is a reminder that now is probably the best time to do that!
If you’re just thinking about giving me money for the media I make on the internet, and you don’t want any of these things specifically, then my Patreon exists and has been running on a consistent rule of not paywalling anything.
Check it out on PRESS.exe to see it with images and links!

hang on i need opinions about this. im focusing on sites that offer multiple kinds of products not just art prints which disqualifies a lot of them.
go for whatever you feel is most accurate.

Some Redbubble news!
So Redbubble has announced that, from May, they're going to be taking quite a big cut of creator's earnings, which kind of sucks for artists!
Up till now, Redbubble keeps a base manufacturing cost per item, and then the artist gets a margin on top of that. To give an example, when someone pays £15.79 to buy this shirt, currently I get £2.17:
Tumblr media
From May onwards, the new fees will mean that I actually will get only £1.17 for that shirt (which cost the buyer £15.79!). Or, if I sell enough to make £20 in a particular month, I'll actually make £10.80 instead.
It's nothing new that Redbubble isn't super great for artists, but it's been a fun little thing to do, and I've always been (and still am!) grateful for everyone who buys stuff from my Redbubble store! I'm a disabled guy, and without places like Redbubble I wouldn't be able to offer people the option to buy my art on merch. It always makes me super happy to hear that there are people out there who like my art enough to wear it on a shirt, and in particular who feel represented by my LGBTQ+ art!
So yeah, this is pretty disappointing news for small artists who use Redbubble.
I don't personally have the spoons right now to trade over to a different site, but it's something I'll definitely be thinking about for the future. But in any case, thank you to everyone who buys my merch (both before and after May), I continue to really appreciate the support!
