Here's a fun thing I feel like sharing: Whenever I read books, I use a notecard as a bookmark, and when I feel a character might be important, I draw them.

Below the cut is the one I used while reading the Red Rising trilogy. Spoilers for books 1-3.

I try to use references, but sometimes it's also fun to freely draw whatever design ideas pops in my head and slapping them onto the guy, so people will have unique face shapes, eye shapes, hair designs, random details, little symbols, the works. It's fun to do so and helps me remember certain characters.

Like for Tactus, I gave his hair two loose strands that look like antennae. Why? I dunno, sounded like a fun idea. Another thing, all of the golds have a bowtie pattern somewhere on them.

Also, what are the crosses for? It's pretty obvious, but it shows that a character is dead. Not sure why, but I like doing this as a sort of grim reminder of who was lost every time I look at the bookmark (definitely not a Danganronpa reference wym).
