Kingdom Hearts Dream Drop Distance - The World That Never Was

#kingdom hearts dream drop distance #khddd #the world that never was #scenery #my gif #i really love how sora's side of this world is dark and eerie and fully leans into how dreams can distort and twist reality #the city looks mostly normal at first aside from the ghostly fog that seeps down from buildings and drifts along the floor and rises up #but as you keep going the ground beneath you is no longer a street but rather the faces of more buildings that stretch over an abyss #it's no longer the sprawling city you first arrived in but instead an uncanny one way path towards your destination #the buildings now twist and contort and are crooked and grow out of the ground in all kinds of ways that make no logical sense #it's the first time that a sleeping world looks easily distinguishable from the real world. it looks wrong. like a nightmare #meanwhile riku's half contrasts heavily by appearing to be fairly normal #the interior of the real castle never made any practical sense so nothing here feels too out of place compared to how it usually looks #it shows how much more in control riku is in comparison to how sora is losing his grip on reality as he descends further into their trap #cool stuff! love me some environmental storytelling #also i finished giffing every world in this game yippee i'm done (is covered head to toe in blood)

My take on a revived clover AU

I like to think that monsters preserved the human children as a sort of remembrance using similar magic to their food since it doesn’t expire, but since humans have more physical matter it only delays rotting rather than completely stopping it, and since clover had died being much less harmed because they gave up their soul rather than getting murdered they get to be the first to come back with minor changes since they didn’t rot that much and their internal organs stayed in tact.

Also in this au flowey kinda goes MIA on frisk and doesn’t wanna be friends/isn't ready to talk to them juuuuust yet, clover’s kind of an exception though :D which also means frisk doesn't reaaallly know about clover til weeks later cause clover isn't ready to face martlet starlo or anyone else until they feel ready, dying and choosing to be alone as a 12 year old can be not great for the brain

Flowey is technically clovers guide through the underground but is still trying to get the other humans to wake up so he’s kinda busy but will know if clover is near a save like in game.

I might give this clover figerless gloves to hide the more human-lookin' skin

Clover is actually essentially sneaking around places like waterfall and snowdin town, staying places that have small shops and less people that would be able to recognize them

whats the process you go through when making something like hair look flow-ey but still have weight to it?

i don't have a particular process, but jotted some notes on my personal habits that might be useful (or not lol):

i suggest looking at some pictures or videos of long flags/banners, and compare how hair looks under water (when it floats free of gravity) versus something blowing in the wind (when its physical form/weight acts upon itself)

try blocking out shapes and then adding detail a little at a time. of course, these "tips" don't really apply to ALL types of hair, since different kinds of hair have different textures or shapes.

#To Shape A Dragon’s Breath #aroaessidhe 2023 reads #this is really really good i loved it! #the chapter titles are all like snippets of a story. or like sentence fragments that match up. which is cool #it is definitely more about being indigenous in a coloniser institution than Dragon School - not Super dragon heavy if you want that #I suspect the subsequent books will get into that when she gets big enough to ride and stuff #t’s also def YA! i’ve seen a few ppl assume it’s adult and be like its very young :( but like. I mean its perfectly reasonable for a 15yo m #definitely a Lot of racism and colonialism which is not fun to read! though it's still through a YA lens. there was def a part of me that #was imagining consequences of the narrative as if it were an adult novel #on that line of thought - at the end a lot of it is kind of solved by them going to the king and he's is like. oh no racism is happening? #that's bad i'll deal with those people! which felt like. a little simplistic. but maybe the easiest way to end the narrative for book 1 - #I don't think the author ACTUALLY is going to portray the king as a Good Guy throughout the series - it just felt conveniently like - #a simple YA solution to some very big and complex elements? if that makes sense? Have you ever seen the owl house? If so, what are your thoughts on it?

I have watched Owl House and I plan to make a review, but I need to rewatch it at least one more time to gather my thoughts

The Owl House is insanely popular, but I was really disappointed with it, especially season 1. And people are not gonna take kindly to that opinion, so I will probably get a lot of angry comments for it so I've just kinda avoided talking about it. Luz and the show act like Eda is a super powerful witch who is Luz's personal teacher who is gonna show her all the secrets of the witchworld, when that couldn't be further from the truth. Eda is like a parent who tells you you're going on a hike with no supplies, she drops you off in the middle of the woods by yourself and gives you like, a stick, and tells you "good luck!" and runs away. Eda is just the weird lady who lets Luz crash at her house.

It's misadvertised, it has tone issues, it has confusing and straight-up unexplained lore issues... and it fell victim to the SU curse of not knowing what they are doing in season 1, just kinda screwing around introducing random concepts Then they finally get their footing in season 2 or 3 only to get cancelled for being gay. Which sucks, like REALLY REALLY SUCKS, because it's the Network producer's homophobic fault for it being rushed, but its also the fault of the creator of the initial debut for the misuse of screen time on characters or plot that has no stake in the rest of the series.

Most of season 1 is just the formula of "our main characters going to school, screwing up and having to fix their mistake for each episode." And then season 2 is like "Oh right, we're a series with an overarching plot, I forgot- whoops! We're out of time, sorry :/ "

A small tool carved from a fruit tree seed. Energy to power the enchantment has seemingly run-out long ago, and the method of recharging is unknown - but, based on the appearance, it's very likely that this was once used for detecting magic. Usually, looking through the glass center would highlight areas of higher magical energy concentration present in the viewer's environment, even if they were otherwise obscured to the naked eye. While this form of enchantment itself is highly advanced, the craftsmanship of the item is far less neat or complex than what might be typically seen in similar devices. It may have been made as part of training/practice, or as a hasty replacement for a previous tool that had broken.

REALLY advanced mages could sense magic around them (to varying degrees of pinpoint accuracy of location #) without even having to use any external device. But for a majority of people there's really no way to know someone is using magic near #you unless you either see visual proof or if it's strong enough to feel effects from it (since magic is kind of like radiation in that the #higher energy/more of it youre exposed to the more it damages you/can make you sick/etc.) and even then most people would just be like #'hmm why do I feel so nauseous and bad out of nowhere?' likely wouldn't directly think to link it to magic. Thus the only really reliable w #way isto just hone your senses over like 500 years as you become an expert mage - OR use enchantments like these. But a 'sense magic' encha #ntment is not as common as a just 'magic is not allowed here' enchantment. If you wanted to prevent magic from being usedin a space #it's easier to just put up a broad barrier enchantment around that space than to have some sort of Magic Sensor to pick out if it's being #done and then handle each individual case of it . etc. etc. These sort of things can have their uses (especially for people investigating #things or trying to be secretive about detecting something etc.) but are less common - especially in this form (where visuals are used. itd #be more likely to jsut have like 'piece of metal that gets warm or cool depending on magic nearby'.) ANWAY so this is why it's a notable #object. Though a majority of the realm is not very magic literate - if you were a researcher or a mage and found this at a pawn shop you'd #definitely be like 'oohhh!! :0 inch resting... ' if not you might just be like 'oh cool necklace!' lol #also love the quick 2min ''costume'' for the image of it being used. literally just 'wrap yourself in scarves from the waist up' and slap o #a wig and ears lol #on this blog I guess since it's worldbuilding related and technically art.. maybe more like crafting? Hello and hi! I made a post about a month ago discussing the idea of making a mod for Pizza Tower which gives Peppino a crop top and I'm happy to say that that mod is a quarter finished! I've edited a bit over 800 sprites so far and as my schedule has recently freed up progress will be speeding up by a TON. I'm feeling optimistic and energized, so expect a finished mod in a little over a month perhaps. Here's a little look at what's been finished so far.

I probably won't be making a lot of progress update posts after this point, but if you want to know how much of the mod is complete then I'll be updating my blog theme's HP bar to show how much is done.

#Pizza Tower #Collie calls #This is my first time modding a game and I'm honestly having quite a bit of fun :] #First time doing sprite edits too #First time actively interacting with a fandom for a game I really enjoy too..... Lot of firsts! #Man. There's no good guides for modding Pizza Tower that I could find though. A lot of them didn't really help me figure out what to do and #I sorta ended up teaching myself as I went. I think when I'm done making this mod I'll create a little guide to help others get into it #I feel a sense of comradery every time I see updates for those cool character mods because wow. I'm just doing a sprite edit and this stuff #is taking MONTHS! The wiki sometimes isn't perfect and I'll spend a bit editing a sprite and importing it only to realize it's not in the #game!
