truly one of the best aspects of the lunter/witteclaw parallels is that the switcheroo of human luz luring "witch" hunter away is just SO on point with the themes of the story and philip's entire motivation as a villain. it's not a matter of humans VS witches, or religion VS paganism, but at the core of it lays the idea that anything that deviates from the norm needs to be extracted and destroyed. and in philip's time, that meant that witches needed to be eliminated.
but! that has changed, overtime. philip's world no longer holds that as the rule. not because the people who think like him no longer exist, but because the people who have been the target of discrimination and hatred have come together as a community and fought for their rights to live their lives to their fullest. and because of these, uh, "modern" ideas, luz fills the role of "evelyn" despite not being a witch herself, because she hits all the important bits: she's also the kind of pest philip would've considered a cancer for society all those years ago. and therefore, she manages to hit all the important story beats for her caleb, aka hunter: she's the one who triggers his first act of defiance against belos; she's the one who introduces flapjack to him; she's the one that takes hunter by the hand and leads him away from belos.
even then, her status as a human is impactful in the way belos treats her: he considers her an "equal", as much as that can mean. he uses this fact to manipulate and guilt-trip her. but that also means that he underestimates her, and that finally allows luz to put this putrid cycle to an end, therefore making luz and hunter effectively the last evelyn and caleb to graze the earth.

really hoping for the last debate to let the international members to be able to talk in their mother language cuz admit it or not, its a HUGE handicap that they're not able to get themselves across as they'd like to cuz of the language barrier. they're trying their best and im glad the team is working to better the translator but my god, even if its more convenient for them to talk english its def affecting some of the candidates
this is mostly directed @ insaneduo cuz holy shit im so tired of people that keep missinterpreting them, they wont start a dictatorship go and actually watch their povs

(this is not about anyone in particular but i have encountered this argument alot too so i wanna say sth about it)
the thing that people like to use as an excuse to why totks story was so lackluster that they think of the gameplay first
but how is that an excuse for bad story and inconsistency with the game its supposedly a sequel too? does good gameplay suddendly mean that the story gotta be bad? they made it work just fine with botw, sure its got its problems and there are things that could have been better like in any game, but they made it work with the themes, it felt harmonical with the rest of it
yeah the story feels like an afterthought in totk, bc it probably was, but it didnt have to be, and not to toot my own horn here but thats what im trying to do with the rewrite, yes im including some wishes i have that would never be canon but this is ultimately wasted work im doing anyway, im restructuring the whole game bc i want it to be in tune with itself, i took the route of most changes bc its my little brainfart were i can make it into something i really want while using the real game as a basis, all that work is in vain anyway so why not go all out, but i have several ideas, some even written out, on how you could have made it better, sometimes with minimal changes even and even then, they dont matter, the game is done and higely successful, im just a random dude on the internet thats part of the 0.01% of fans that dont like it, im just insane enough (or autistic enough lol) to basically do game design and writing for an entire game IP i dont own and never will for a game thats already finished and wont change regardless of how much work i do or how much i yell about it
if you think its 'unfair' to the canon game bc some things are not doable (tho honestly given what they have already been able to do nintedny would absolutely be able to do everything im writing) or bc im changing so much then ok? if you think they had their reasons and thats ok with you then ok?
im not tho, and no i dont think they had a good reason nor good excuse to do it like this, thats my opinion anyway, and my opinion doesnt matter in the grant scheme of things
like you dont have to like anything i do with it, its not a demand of the devs, the games done already anyway and nothign will change that, im literally just making it into the sequel i would have loved, i would have wanted, i would think is better
but thats just me, all of the work im doing for this project is an outlet for my frustration with the game that i cant let go bc i love the franchise, and most importantly botw, so much that i cant let it go
so if you dont like what im doing, thats fine, but move on then pls bc im not demanding anyone to like it and if you choose to engage with it despite not liking it thats not my fault now is it
and if you do like it i want to thank you for your support!! it means alot that maybe, even if its technically wasted work and time, its really not fully useless, if it can bring even one other person a little joy, thats a good engouh reason for me to keep posting it :3

I feel like toxicity in fandom behavior is higher than it's been in a long time thanks to a certain specific game and ugh. Pettiness, competition, 'fanon' being declared as canon, coming after people for having non-conformist takes or OCs, insecurity, inflated sense of superiority, attacks over darker/evil themes and characters, not being able to handle when someone doesn't like your most specialist guy, etc...
Just. Stop.
I bet you 99% of times that person is NOT competing with you. They don't even think about you. That person is NOT posting their opinions or works specifically to target or spite or hurt you, they just aren't. It's probably not even about you! It's okay that that someone has a different take or doesn't like your take or doesn't like your favorite character - it really is! You wouldn't cry because someone doesn't like your favorite ice cream, and you certainly wouldn't send someone hate mail over it either!
If you don't like what someone is doing in their own area of the playground, don't march over there and kick sand in their face or rip the dolls from their hands! Just ignore them! That's what blacklisting and blocking is for! If someone doesn't like your favorite ice cream flavor then that's literally a non-issue, and if someone does and you're somehow jealous or angry about it or feel only you can and you can't share, then maybe you should go to therapy or something I don't know what to tell you. And if you ARE posting hate or targeting people specifically or making fun of them for whatever petty fandom reason, how about you log off and go back to grade school where we all learned how to behave around each other like regular civilized people.
There is a living breathing person on the other side of that post and OC or whatever the fuck, so remember that! Stop letting your anxieties and insecurities speak through their posts and mouth and making it about yourself. Stop letting your inability to be 'wrong' convince you that any part of fandom/'fanon' is actual canon. Stop comparing yourself against other members of fandom and letting it spoil your experience. Stop being a petty little ant and making vague-posts and attacking people online over something that isn't even real!
Somehow this new generation of fandom just missed learning basic fandom etiquette and manners.
