In the celestial realm where gods held sway, A tragic tale unfolded, dark and gray. Ceres, fair goddess of harvest and earth, Met her demise in a fateful rebirth.
Raijin, mighty god of thunder and storm, His heart heavy with duty, an oath to conform. A clash of gods in an honor-bound strife, The battleground, the theater of life.
In the dance of lightning, a tempest brewed, Raijin's remorse, his guilt subdued. For in the name of devotion, duty, and pride, He slew fair Ceres, love cast aside.
The battle raged on in the heavenly skies, As gods clashed with sorrow in their eyes. Ceres, once vibrant, now lay cold and still, Her essence fading, a divine, tragic fill.
Yet Raijin, conflicted, burdened by pain, Gathered Ceres in arms, a love to regain. With regret etched upon his thunderous face, He cradled her form in a tender embrace.
To the dawn-lit sky, he carried her high, Where stars whispered secrets to the moon in the sky. Raijin, torn between love and duty's decree, Raised Ceres to the light, set her spirit free.
The heavens wept tears, a celestial lament, As Ceres departed, her radiance spent. In honor's name, a love was laid to rest, A tragic tale of gods, by destiny blessed.
Raijin, burdened by the weight of his choice, Listened to the wind's remorseful voice. In the canvas of dawn, where day meets night, He released Ceres' spirit to eternal light.
A battle of gods, a sacrifice profound, In the cosmic tapestry, a tale is bound. Ceres' memory lingered in the divine air, A tragic echo of a love so rare.

Gods/Titans x Sick! Reader
Characters: Shinnok, Raiden, Fujin, Liu Kang, Cetrion, Kronika
A/N: Did not have the brainpower to work on my other stories so I drafted up this instead. Influenza is a bitch.
TW: Implied yandere, mentions of drugging, kidnapping, death, SFW
18+ to interact
Shinnok
Can probably detect that you're getting sick before your symptoms show. You know how some people can smell sickness? It's like that with Shinnok. Thankfully, you don't have the waft of death he's so accustomed to being around. He's not worried about you dying from this. Still, he'd rather not his plaything be ill.
He's a bit confused on how you got sick in the first place though. He doesn't exactly take you outside once he's kidnapped you, and it's not like he's affected by any mortal disease so ???. It's especially puzzling if this happens while you're trapped in the amulet. At least in the cell you came into contact with demons who may have carried something.
Regardless, at this point Shinnok realizes his arsenal of healing magic is rather… Lacking. He's much more adept at rending flesh than mending it. But he's a skilled sorcerer so it takes him little time to learn a healing spell. A few test subjects later and he feels confident at curing your cold.
All this takes less than 24 hours for Shinnok to achieve. You're probably bed ridden at this point with all the chills/fever, coughing, and weakness. Speaking of beds, I think this is one of the few times he'll have you sleep in a bed rather than your cell. He wants you to recover after all. The only way you’re dying is by his hands and not some petty mortal disease.
His magic works better than any herbal healing or medicine tbh. One moment you're on death's door and the next you've completely recovered. No sign of illness anywhere in your body. Even though being Shinnok's darling is not desirable, it does come with a few benefits like this.
Raiden
Raiden doesn't know you're sick until the symptoms show. Might not discover your illness until 2-3 days of you being under the weather due to his busy schedule. He likely hears about your condition from a monk he's trusted to watch over you. Man immediately teleports to the Sky Temple to see how you're doing. He finds you laying in the bed barely able to move. Wearily, you greet him only to immediately fall into a coughing fit.
Unfortunately, he can't fry the disease out of you with his electricity. So, herbal healing it is! You drink more tea this week than you have your entire life. Seriously, you have to beg Raiden to stop because your stomach is about to burst. He does, only to immediately pursue some aromatherapy. Your room smells strongly of flowers and eucalyptus afterwards.
Would frequently check on you nearly every hour. If there's an extremely urgent matter that calls for his attention he'll leave his most trusted colleagues to look after you. Right after he's done with business he'll ask the person if your status has improved.
He's super mindful of making sure you don't get bed sores or any other complications from laying around all day. At the same time, he only wants you getting up to bathe or use the restroom. You're essentially stuck in one place until he can 100% guarantee you've recovered.
If your condition worsens he would hire a doctor to come see you. If the doctor suggests you go to a hospital, Raiden will take you there. I imagine the admission process would be a bit awkward though. He has no idea how all this works so you're left doing most of the speaking. You get admitted in though, and no his constant visiting doesn't stop even now. The hospital staff would likely have to kick him out.
Overall, he's praying that you'll make it through this.
Fujin
Well, Fujin actually lives among mortals so he has more knowledge on how to take care of you. Like Raiden, whenever he's on important business he hires someone to watch over you. I could see him having a phone unlike his brother. Definitely more hip with the times. Anyways, because of this he probably gets a worried text from your caretaker that you've fallen ill.
He arrives back home ASAP. Seeing you in this condition pulls at his heartstring the most. Out of everyone he's the most worried, as he's had his most favorite mortals pass away from illness. He wastes no time getting into Dr. Fujin mode.
He has you on a liquid diet until you heal. Tea, soup, broth -that's all you're eating for the next week. He’ll get whatever you need medicine wise. Got a headache or cramps? He'll get some painkillers pronto. Are you coughing with an irritated throat? Have some cough syrup/drops. He's very attentive in giving you a balance of home remedies and prescribed drugs.
It pains him every time you cough or groan in pain. He wants nothing more than to cure you right now. He hates seeing you suffer from illness. You can expect him to keep you company for as long as necessary. He'll also bring whatever entertainment you want, long as it isn't too expensive.
Again, if your conditions worsen he'll take you to a hospital. It's a smoother process getting in with him though. He also understands the concept of visiting hours, but best believe he's taking full advantage of them. He'll only leave your side if he has to and will be back the next morning.
Liu Kang
He doesn't have an ability to detect disease but he does have impeccable intuition. Something just changes about you before you fall ill. He's not even sure how he predicted it, but sure enough you're bedridden a few days after his spidey senses tingle.
He tries not to be too worried about your cold. He hasn't crafted your destiny to be one where you die from disease. But, there are some externalities even he can't control being Keeper of Time. So, it's off to the Wu Shi's medbay with you!
The Fire God checks up on you regularly, but not as often as Raiden or Fujin. It's not that he cares less, but rather he understands boundaries more. You don't need him breathing down your neck while you're recovering or sleeping. He makes an effort to see you every day though, giving you updates of what's going on at the academy.
If you're suffering from chills though at least you're in luck! He'll keep the room more than warm enough with his fire powers. It's like having a heated blanket around whenever he's in the medbay. At the same time, if you have a fever you may find his presence to be a little too warm.
I believe if you don't get better he'd take you to a sorcerer skilled in healing. Luckily, there's a whole multiverse at his disposal so it's extremely easy for him to find someone to cure you. You won't die under his care. You're far too precious for him to lose.
Cetrion
Can detect your sickness way before symptoms show. Honestly, you probably wouldn't even realize you're sick before her magic heals you. With her around you don't have to worry about such mortal afflictions.
If there was an illness that her powers couldn't heal… Well tbh you're probably going to die. But, I think it would leave her spiraling into a pit of worry beforehand. How did you get this disease? What can she do to help you? I think she'd try a lot of home remedies like the other characters here but doesn't have as much faith for it working. After all, no mortal medicine can surpass her powers as an Elder God.
If you pass away from this she'll likely just keep your soul in Heaven with her. If she's Keeper of Time she may just restart the Timeline. Although, I can't imagine it'd be too hard for her to just put your soul in a surrogate or artificial body. Regardless, she's not going to let an illness take you away from her. The consequences be damned.
Also, in a weird way I could see Cetrion getting you sick on purpose. Drugging whatever you eat/drink with just enough poison to make you lethargic and sleepy. Or manipulating the timeline so you're purposefully born with a weak body. It feeds her ego to take over a caregiver role for you. Having you completely dependent on her love and attention gives her a much needed dopamine boost. It's very unfortunate for you.
Overall… Probably the best person to have if you get sick. As long as she decides to heal you immediately of course.
Kronika
Is even more confused than her son about how you got sick. After all, she had you trapped in a pocket outside of time. Even if you caught a pathogen, it wouldn't be able to progress due to time being paused there. And not only that, you've been in there for far longer than the incubation time of any disease. Briefly, she wonders if your safety inside the bubble has been compromised. She dismisses that idea though. No… No one has the ability to tread that space without her permission. Not in her New Era.
Fortunately, she can just reverse the “age” of your body to before you got infected. She's reversed time on your body several times at this point, so she's not the least bit worried about doing so. A wave of her hands later and you're cured. And feeling a bit younger too.
Not much else to really say here. I doubt she would intentionally get you sick. Also with her being a Titan and succeeding against Liu Kang/Raiden in this timeline, the arc of history really does bend to her will. So basically -you're not getting sick on her watch.

Heya, folks! Who's ready for a new AU?👀
Welcome to the Hazbin Hotel, founded 5 days ago by Cetrion's ✨️delusional✨️ daughter, Harumi Shirai :D
Now, this is a Scorpion!Harumi AU... AU! So I'll be using the Scorpion!Harumi Crew and their dynamics as reference to parallel the characters. With that in mind, let's meet the hotel staff!👀
THE PRINCESS, HARUMI SHIRAI:
She has a dream! She wishes to tell! It's certainly laughable, but hey kid, what the hell? ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
Harumi is heir to the throne of hell, but she doesn't think much of it. Her focus lately has been solely towards this one thing:
The Hazbin Hotel!✨️🌈🌸💕 Where she will guide Sinner towards a path to salvation and away from Heaven's annual Extermination!
Hopefully...
THE BODYGUARD (AND GF), LISA LIANG:
At first glance, Lisa Liang may seem rather scary, but when you get to know her... she's still pretty scary!
But underneath all that anger (obvious unresolved trauma), mean attitude and secrets beats a lovingly and devoted heart!
Devoted to Harumi and Harumi only!
Seriously, DON'T mess with Harumi!
After being terribly injured during an Extermination, Lisa was rescued by Harumi, and from that day on, Lisa made it her life mission to protect that beautiful soul at all cost, do everything in her power to assure her dreams were fulfilled!
Even the seemingly impossible ones...
THE (ONLY) PATRON, KUAI LIANG:
The Hazbin Hotel's first (and only) guest. Don't mind him. He's only staying here for the free rent!
Or is he?
Kuai may not seem much at first glance, but stick around, and the demon will certainly surprise you!
Take the information as you will...
THE BARTENDER, HANZO HASASHI:
Need to vent? Then talk to the bartender! He may look like he's not interested, but trust me, he is the shoulder to lean on!
But don't push your luck! He's not here because he wants to be. He's here because his damned boss decided to play hotel manager and needed a doll to play with (ugh! Such an insufferable guy)!
But despite his boss's antics, Harumi's incessant singing, Lisa's constant scolding, and Kuai's insistent flirting. They weren't the worst lot to be around.
He could get used to it. Yeah... he could.
THE MAID, FROST:
She kills bugs!
That's all you need to know.
Seriously.
Move on. (ಠ_ಠ)
THE MANAGER, (DARK) RAIDEN:
The damned boss.
He's been here since day... he's been here a week. But is faithful as a nun! Or something...
And he wants to help!
Why, you ask?
SHEER. ABSOLUTE. BOREDOM :D
Probably... ig... who knows? I don't!
And neither do you :)
THE QUEEN OF HELL, CETRION:
Absent awkward, mother. She's trying, but she's usually busy.
She was once an angel, you know? Helped create stars and gardens!
That cool plant you like? She probably made that one!
Nowadays, she makes plants mostly for herself...
She has a garden of her own and all! She grows her very own flowers, unlike anything heaven's limitated ass could ever think of!
I mean, could heaven ever make
✨️The Magi-tastic Backwards Lily Flower?✨️
✨️THAT SPITS F I R E??✨️
Yeah, didn't think so😌
THE FIRST (SECOND) GUEST, BI-HAN:
Pretty sure he once had a big army, maybe he was even a leader or something. But nowadays? He's just a bit silly!
He came to the hotel as a spy, sent to keep an eye on Raiden.
But the "super villain" started to grow a bit too comfortable in the hotel and too accustomed to the compliments.
He got sloppy and was caught embarrassingly fast!
But with a simple sorry spoken straight from his core, he was given a second chance! Not that it will mean much-- H*LY SHIT HE [MAJOR SPOILERS]!!
THE HEAD SERAPHIM, ASHRAH:
Look, she's not evil! Just misguided...
She wants to protect her home and her sister and is willing to do whatever it takes!
But maybe she will calm down once she meets Heaven's newest resident...
THE OTHER SERAPHIM, SAREENA:
You can call her Sareena, Reen, Sa, Ena, whatever!
She's usually very sweet and bubbly, but she's not feeling particularly bubbly at the moment. She's learned some stuff, you know?
Maybe a new friend may help her raise her spirits?
☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆
BONUS CHARACTERS:
THE LEADER OF CANNIBAL TOWN, DELIA:
I want to start including Delia in more on my stories, she seems like an interesting character who totally deserves more attention! Plus, I like the idea of her and Raiden bonding as (not elder) gods!
Plus imagine Delia using a big hat like Rosie's to cover her eyes!👀
THE WEAPONS' DEALER, SINDEL:
Fierce mom of two girls who would do whatever it takes to protect them.
We all know I don't need to elaborate
KUAI LIANG'S TWIN, TOMAS VRBADA:
Congratulations to Tomas for being the only one of Kuai's siblings who managed to remain his sibling on this AU, lol!
THE YET TO BE RESIDENT, CYRAX:
As Kuai's friend, I think she would fit as Cherry Bomb! It's not like Cyrax is not familiar with bombs, am I right?👀
Now, there are a couple characters that I'm still figuring out, Adam and Lute for once, have been particularly tricking!
I'm also still pondering The Vees and Lilith...
Regarding who I already choose, I know some of the choices may seem odd (Raiden, Cetrion and Bi-Han most likely) but I had my reasons for them, if you're interested in hearing them, feel free to ask, I'll gladly elaborate!
Also, please, if you have ideas to who may be the other characters, do share! I'd love to hear your thoughts!
A bit of a disclaimer before I wrap this all up!
Crimson Shadow (Bireena) is one of my main ships and is a thing in here, too! So Angel!Bi-Han will date Seraphim!Sareena. But that DOES NOT mean I ship Emily and Sir Pentious! This ship is for the AU ONLY!
That's all folks! Hope you enjoy my crazy AU!
Tagging the AU Squad:
@mikka-minns @madamealtruist (fellow Hazbin girlies)
@thedragonholder (cause you like AUs)
@running-with-the-feels (my not so discreet way of tempting you into watching Hazbin Hotel, lol)

rite of life
For young minds that know nothing else, immortality is the basis that one's life operates on. When death rips your friend away, your heart is shattered and your world becomes a darker place. Your guardian tries to pick up the pieces in hopes that they can be put back together again.
warnings: death, mild gore, ask to tag
characters: fujin, liu kang, raiden
Tumblr media
Fujin always told you that life is full of comings and goings. To cling to people too strongly when they decide to leave is to hold you both back. As a result of those words, you became somewhat aloof to the lives of others and failed to grow steady attachments with the mortals around you. It wasn't necessarily something that needed fixing, but Fujin began to fret about your ability to form ties with people who weren't gods. Given the solitary nature of gods, your options for socialisation were severely limited.
There was only so much that he could do as one who fell outside of the realm of mortals. Having gone through multiple arguments with Raiden, he knew that being too insistent would turn you away from the point he was trying to make. Living among humans was his greatest joy, but that was your baseline for as long as you could remember. Thinking that you would feel the same way by default, your earliest memories consisted of being carried around and greeted warmly by adults while seated comfortably on your guardian's hip. There was no desire to be rid of that company, so Fujin was mostly optimistic on the matter.
Whenever your gaze lingered on a human, Fujin would offer his hand to you. If you took it, he would lead you over to them, start a conversation, and then slowly fade into the background once he got the ball rolling. When he backed out of the scene, it would usually peter out quickly. Too young to relate much to adults and too otherworldly to easily converse with children who looked the same as you, it was easier to let a stranger slip away than struggle to keep them in place of their own volition. You formed a noncommittal attitude around strangers because of how much of a rush they seemed to be in. They had less time to stand around idly. It was a concept you knew of and tried to understand, but it manifested in that half-hearted way of talking to them.
That's why, when one started to talk to you, it was hard to respond or reciprocate appropriately. The first time it happened, Fujin took notice and jumped in to save the conversation before the stranger got put off and walked away.
Their name was Sonam. They were a nomad on a long pilgrimage, but you didn't really get what that was about. Things like reaching enlightenment and soul-searching were strange concepts to a young immortal who never had to dream of a peaceful forever. Outside of that grand quest, you found out that they were originally the third child of a travelling merchant family. The merchants were en route to Outworld, but after seeing its state of turmoil, they changed course. Sonam's family was taken by the beauty of Edenia, but Sonam alone chose to move beyond it.
You admired Sonam's will. To leave without one's family or even the promise of a better life, was terrifying. When you closed your eyes and tried to think of what it would be like to live without Fujin or Raiden watching out for you, your body grew tense with dread. More than the fighters of Earthrealm, you felt that Sonam was the most formidable human you ever met. Their steadfast will manifested in the way that they always sought you out while passing through the area.
Those interactions spurred you to begin keeping track of the passage of time. When the trees regained their leaves and the grass stood tall and green, Sonam would appear. Along with birdsong in the morning, Sonam returned. Sometimes they looked a little different. Their clothes would change or they'd come back with a small scar. Their face would look a little haggard or they'd carry a different assortment of items. But they always grinned broadly upon seeing you, opened up their arms to invite you for a long hug, and say that they missed you.
Fujin didn't always take you with him everywhere, but you were still well-travelled. Even so, Sonam's stories of their own travels made the world seem much vaster than you could imagine. Revisiting the same places every year like a migrating bird, Sonam found something new and spectacular in familiar locations. It was easy to tell that Sonam loved Earthrealm deeply. Though raised by two who took on the mantle of Earthrealm's protectors, you couldn't grasp what they saw in it until Sonam talked to you.
It saddened you when they didn't show up for a couple of years, but figuring that they may have moved on with life, you tried to let it go. In your stead, and without you knowing, Fujin searched for your lost friend. The only result of that search was... A letter. When you held it in your hands, your heart pounded wildly. You knew that opening it up would close a chapter of your life forever, so with a shaking voice, you quietly pleaded for Fujin to read the letter to you instead.
"My dear friend," Fujin sits down and invites you to sit against him as he reads, "I cannot meet you as I wish, but I hope that somehow my words can reach you. We may never talk again, but I would like to tell you one last story."
Sonam's final tale is just like all the others, but it doesn't shed any light on their disappearance. Fujin doesn't tell you anything either, though his face is solemn when you ask. Somehow, the words on the paper make you feel homesick. Ink covers it front and back, wasting zero space. You're afraid to take the letter back when Fujin finishes reading, afraid you might damage it.
It feels like someone drilled a hole through your chest. Longing to see your friend again, no matter what state they appear to you in, you almost want to curse the letter they left to you. Fujin watches your expression change. He sees the balling of your fists, the way you grit your teeth and alternate between pain and anger. Delicately, as if handling a single string of spider thread, Fujin rubs your back. It's a quiet consolation.
He knows that things aren't over yet. Until you can fully accept Sonam's passing, you cannot accept the idea of their death. And until you can do that, Fujin cannot offer any condolences. So instead, he lingers near you until the day you confront it, and he rubs your back when you're looking particularly down.
Tumblr media
Long ago, when you were much younger, the Shaolin who would rock you in his lap and sing you lullabies died of old age. Preoccupied with the first Mortal Kombat tournament, Liu Kang returned from Outworld to find you surrounded by monks, wailing loud enough to pierce the Heavens. Because you were barely able to be considered a toddler, the only thing you knew was that the person you became so comfortable with was suddenly taken away from you. Caught off guard and unsure of whether it was too soon to introduce you to the concept of death, Liu Kang soothed you with a white lie:
"Earthrealmers are born with an incurable disease that makes their bodies to shut down with time."
He regretted that his lie caused you to develop an aversion to Earthrealmers, but he found solace in your friendship with an Edenian royal. To know that you were still willing to make friends smoothed out his growing concerns. Bolstered by the fact that your new friend stayed in good health as the centuries rolled by, you forgot all about the disease that took your first friend away.
In its place, an insidious force stalked your happy, peaceful days. An incredible violence began to sprout in Outworld's peaceful soils. As it rose from the ground, it speared through the bond you created like a force of nature, and you knew nothing of it until that point.
While eating Edenian pies with Lualhati, she fell into an aggressive coughing fit. Thinking that something went down the wrong way, you teased her for eating too fast while rubbing her back. It wasn't until she collapsed onto the table, begging hoarsely for help, that you realised that things were serious. When you ran out to find aid, your voice echoed through empty halls.
Since when did everybody leave? Why wasn't there anybody... Anywhere? No guards, attendants, not even a normal servant could be found.
Lualhati's coughing was reduced to wheezing when you returned to her side. It filled your ears, ragged and miserable. When you tried to help her sit up, streams of red poured from her lips and dribbled onto her beautiful robes. Without the tools to help her, you did your best to comfort her. Keep her clothes as clean as possible, even if you had to use your own to wipe away her blood and spit. Hold her hand and tell her that you called for help, but not that the palace was empty outside of the two of you. The room fell silent after her wheezing stopped. When you held her hand, she didn't squeeze back. The blood between your palms became sticky, unable to dry completely in the sealed pocket you both formed.
A portal opened up after your hundredth muttered plea to the gods, and answering your prayers was the one you depended on most.
"I have received some concerning news. I do not think it is safe for you or—" Liu Kang's heart sinks as soon as he notices the full situation. When you look up at him with a mix of hope and fear, he can barely meet your eyes.
"Help... Help Hati...!" at your weak request, Liu Kang's heart splits. He remembers the lie he told you. He was going to tell you about the inevitable, but he never expected Lualhati's life to be cut so short. That you would encounter death in one of its cruellest forms, all on your own, is something that makes him disappointed in himself as your guardian.
The weight of failing you, alongside your friend, takes him to the ground. He kneels next to you both and places a hand over yours. Your knuckles stick out prominently, fingers clamped down on Lualhati's cold hand. Instead of it leaking directly onto the floor, two napkins used to wipe up your friend's blood are crumpled up and discarded near your feet. Your sleeve and the front of your top is also soaked with it. Because he can't quite find the words for you yet, he pulls your head into his shoulder. The illusion of composure that you've kept up to then is melted away by his warmth. As it breaks down, Liu Kang knows he has to act. The blow has already been dealt. There is no way to soften it, so he has to do something other than just be there.
"You've tried your best, but there is nothing else that can be done," as he says this, he attempts to gently pry your fingers away from Lualhati's corpse. You resist him with strength you'd never displayed before. Any further supplications that he offers to you are drowned out by your wailing denials. When your hand finally lets go, Liu Kang's relief is short-lived. Once holding fast to your friend, it now grapples his shirt.
"You're a God, aren't you!? You have to do something! You have to!" pulling him down, trying to get him to look at Lualhati, you counter his soothing words with desperate begging.
It kills him to do so when you haven't done anything wrong, but he has to raise his voice to get a word in. When you fall into a stunned silence and release him, a bloody smear is left behind.
He rose his voice so authoritatively, yet he still can't find the right words. It's just like the first time: caught off guard, he isn't prepared to say what he needs to, but he doesn't want to leave you with nothing to hold on to. So he closes Lualhati's eyelids, offers a prayer for her to stall for time, and you're still there, crying into your scarlet-stained sleeves.
Liu Kang places a heavy hand on your head. Rubbing back and forth like he always does whenever you were afraid, he musters vague reassurances. They aren't nearly enough. It was something he should have said the first time. But it would have to suffice.
"This is not the end. For as long as you continue to love Lualhati, you will always be friends."
Tumblr media
The Sky Temple was a terribly lonely place to raise a child. Though safe, it provided little else to do but meditate. Raiden knew this well, but it only truly sunk in that it was unfit for you when Fujin pointed out your lethargic behaviour.
"Children should be playing freely. Too much discipline will stunt their growth, brother," he advised. Having such an embarrassing oversight pointed out by his brother left Raiden scrambling for a solution that would leave you under his watchful eye while also granting you more freedom to roam and be a child.
It was no playground, but the Wu Shi Academy was well within Raiden's jurisdiction. Filled with trustworthy people and ample space to wander, his only concern was the altitude sickness that overcame you at the end of your descent. It was the most lively he'd seen you in a while, but that didn't mean much when you were clutching your head and groaning in pain. Before he could move to carry you up the stairs and through the gates, the voice of his closest disciple called his attention.
"Lord Raiden, is this a new initiate?" Kung Lao bowed respectfully, but his knitted brows betrayed his bewilderment. It wasn't unheard of to adopt children into the Order of Light, but given how the Mortal Kombat tournament loomed in the coming decade, bringing a new child into the fold without any warning felt like a bad omen. Such suspicions were not completely unfounded. Before answering, Raiden paused. Looking at his champion he suddenly saw a path forward for your development...
Through a period of time that would have been the blink of an eye if you actively lived more beforehand, Kung Lao became a pillar of your world. A mentor, a friend, an elder sibling, time could change the way that you interacted, but it never changed your attachment to him. He taught you how to fight and went as far as to widdle away at bamboo so you'd have a staff appropriate for your small stature.
"You're looking more like Raiden every year," he'd jest even though you barely aged a day. But whenever you spoke of that thing you'd heard about him, Champion of Earthrealm, he'd always change the subject. When you asked him if you could join him, he chuckled and said, "Those shoes are too big for you right now."
But you were taken under the wing of the Protector of Earthrealm. Sure, you couldn't wield his staff or shoot lightning, but you knew you could become a strong person. Stronger than Kung Lao even, though that would take a few decades more. Decades that the universe refused you.
A new Mortal Kombat tournament was decreed at the expected time. After fighting tooth and nail to be allowed to attend, you stood at the side lines to watch its proceedings. Earthrealm's other champions were impressive, but they could never compare to yours. Kung Lao's face was set into an expression you'd never seen before when it was his time to fight, but he still affectionately squeezed your hand on the way out when you reached out for him.
Thunk. Thud. Crack.
What a strange set of noises to hear a human body make in such quick succession. You know bruises and sprains. The sound of being thwacked on the arm as a punishment for messy defense is familiar to you, but this is a different sound. It's visceral and sickening. It makes the blood in your veins run cold until you're shaking. A four-armed giant looms over Kung Lao, and his shadow makes it look like his head is leaking ink instead of blood. You could write a poem in the sand by dipping a stick into the spreading puddle.
In the moments where you feel frozen in time, something wells up inside of you. What you think is a scream comes out far differently than you expect, tearing up your throat and propelling you forward.
"How could you!"
Kung Lao spares his opponents. Why can't he be spared? Isn't that completely unfair? You've never seen someone die until this tournament, but now you can instantly tell that he's never going to get up again.
"How dare you!"
Raiden can't grab you fast enough to stop your rush, but as Outworld's champion fills up more of your vision, crackling fills your ears. Your vision is overtaken by white strands of electricity and you find yourself striking air. Thin air, not enough to accommodate your angry heaving. Thunder rumbles over your head and lightning flashes in the clouds outside of your familiar living space. Forced to sit down, lest your consciousness fade completely, you try to close your eyes and imagine the arena again.
If Raiden can teleport you back to the Sky Temple and you are cut from a similar cloth as him, surely you can just teleport back. Try as you might, the only thing you can achieve is the image. Whenever you open your eyes, it's the same room that filled the monotonous days before you met Kung Lao. Your surroundings distort around you as tears begin to spill out.
They don't stop, even though it feels like you've been crying forever and your head aches. Raiden finally returns to see you clutching at your scalp, sucking in cold air that hurts your raw throat. You resemble a child having a meltdown at a playground after falling from the monkey bars and scraping open their knee, but he knows it's more than that. He regrets that it is more than that, and that he cannot understand the depth of your pain like he may have when he was younger.
You're angry at him too. He can tell by the way you try to avoid looking at him when he kneels in front of you. It's no way to have a conversation— definitely not the one that you need to have— so he doesn't push. Instead, he gingerly lays at your feet the red headband that Kung Lao always wore. It's completely soiled with blood and dirt, but you take it without reservation and cling to it like a lifeline.
"Why did you let this happen?" you question Raiden as he goes to leave. Between the sniffles and swallowed back sobs, he barely makes out what you're trying to say. His chest tightens and he cannot answer you. And you despise him for that.

Raiden x Cetrion's Child Reader(Copied Pasted from Wattpad)
It's been 5 days since you last seen your mother, or Cetrion, goddess of virtue. She told you she'd return in a short amount of time, but it seemed like an eternity.
You weren't sad or worried, but you were getting lonely by the minute. If you didn't have faith, then you would be freaking out, thinking something happened to her. You thought that she was just abiding her mother's will, just longer than expected, but in reality, Cetrion gave her own life to please her mother, Kronika.
You were young, but at the same time knew your place. For the whole week, you took care of yourself, and did everything you'd usually do with Cetrion. Like growing trees and flowers, or watching birds, or just meditating. But it's just not right without her.
On the sixth day, you went out on your own. You decided to go to Earthrealm since it seemed like an accurate choice. You just made sure you had a proper disguise.
On the walk there, you couldn't help think of Cetrion, and all the precious memories of her. You couldn't even think to yourself questioning her existence. You just wanted her to return home.
Your mind faded away as you notice someone standing in your direction. You looked at their face identifying who it was. Is that Lord Raiden? No. His eyes glow. You shook it off before continuing your path, but the stranger stepped in front of you.
"Y/n." You got startled by your name getting called. You have not heard it in a long time, and the voice was familiar, but something about it wasn't right. "Y/n, it's me, Raiden. I am no longer an elder god." So I was correct. You looked up at him with no expression. You weren't really suppose to be around Raiden. According to Cetrion, he's the reason most of the elder gods and goddesses perished. You know you were suppose to walk away from him, but you just stood there.
"Why are you out here? It's dangerous for you." He asked. Hm. Why does he care? "I'm waiting on my mother, Cetrion. She hasn't return in exactly 144 hours." Your little voice answered. You've been keeping exact track. Raiden didn't know if he should tell you the truth, or just let you figure it out, but thinking about it, you were going to know someday.
"I'm sorry, Y/n. But you won't be seeing her anytime soon." Raiden slightly bowed his head in sympathy. You knew what he could've meant by this, but you refused to believe it until he says so. "What do you mean? She loves me, of course she will see me soon!" You hissed, voice a little shaky. "No, Y/n. She has given Kronika her own life for her success."
Your eyes slightly widen, but quickly referred back to normal. Raiden could've sworn your eyes instantly filled with despair. You weren't crying, but you just simply felt numb. "I see now." You whispered as you turned and walked away. Again, Raiden stepped in front of you. "Whatever you think, just know Cetrion still loves you. And her death does not prevent that." Raiden tried cheering you up, but something about his sentence hit a tiny nerve. "How would you know? Cetrion dislikes you." You asked without any emotion. "Because she is the goddess of virtue after all. Despite her actual deeds, she is a good mother."
You didn't say anything, you just the thought for a moment and walked past Raiden again. He didn't step in front of you, but he grabbed your arm. "Where are you going?" "I don't know." You weren't sure if you wanted to go home, or just to run off someplace, but Raiden had an idea in mind.
The now mortal man kneeled down to your level. "Would you want me to look after you?" He asked. You wondered how Cetrion would feel about this. You wanted to say yes, since you didn't want to be alone. At the same time, it's probably something Cetrion would not appreciate. Forgive me, mother. "Okay."
Raiden gave you a reassuring smile, before standing up and taking your hand. And that's how your new life began.

Mortal Kombat 11 x reader: Chapter 12 End of an era
That person is Liu Kang, but he has drastically changed in appearance. He appears fully human, but his hair is now grey, his eyes glowing electric blue, his tattoos generating electricity and his body generating flames. Raiden's hat is on his back, and his trousers now have a blue shade on them as opposed to red. His bandanna is now metallic and he wears a necklace of beads.
Liu Kang stands to his feet, looking at his outstretched hands, in awe at his new powers. He closes them into fists and puts them back down at his side.
Scorpion, Sub-Zero and Jax all begin to walk forward. Kung Lao teleports onto the deck from his ship and Kitana jumps over from hers, landing next to Kharon. All of them take in the sight of the radically changed Liu Kang.
"Liu Kang?" Asked Sub-Zero "I am..." Liu Kang begins to say before he stops pulsating with electricity and fire, but his eyes are now bright blue, as are his tattoos. "...And I am not" "What happened to Raiden?" Asked Jax "He is part of me. Bound to my soul. He... made me a god. For now, at least" Liu Kang replies
"A god? Incredible" Kitana commented "My revenant counterpart. I have absorbed his knowledge of the Keep, of Kronika's plan. I know where to find the hourglass. We can beat Kronika" Said Liu Kang "Is Lady (Name) and Calithea safe?" Kung Lao asked worried "They both are unharmed. Lady (Name) is chained and cuffed as is Calithea" Liu Kang Replied.
Back in Kronika's Keep, both she and Cetrion look upon the chair that once bound Liu Kang. Kronika is wide-eyed and more perplexed than we have ever seen her before "Out of desperation comes invention. I had not thought it possible for Raiden to surprise me" Says Kronika as she addresses Cetrion without even looking at her "Our success is no longer certain. We must make haste"
They walk back to the hourglass and begin manipulating the sands once again all the while (Name) watches them as she holds Calithea close to her chest.
Back on the shoreline, Kharon's flagships have almost reached land. Waiting for them is the Netherrealm army, and the oni demons roar in anticipation and charge the shoreline. The ships continue forward, not decelerating in the slightest.
"BRACE FOR IMPACT!" yelled Kharon.
The flagship touches down on the shore without issue. A boarding plank is lowered as the Netherrealm army reaches the ships. Before the demons can climb up it, Sub-Zero slides down, using his ice reaches powers to freeze the ground beneath him and the demons below him. He lands on the shoreline and uses an ice axe to chop a frozen demon into shattered remains, then immediately decapitates another one.
Scorpion teleports from the ship deck in a burst of flame, coming out in the midst of the army, sending several onis into the air in flames. He punches down one oni, then rips the heart out of another.
The ship containing the Special Forces crashes into a dock, smashing it into a splintered ruin. With a loud cheer, the vanguard runs down the boarding plank. Three soldiers on deck chuck grenades at the army, which blow up and kill several demons in one go. More demons charge as Cassie, Jacqui and the younger Jax zipline down to the shore. The oni charging them are cut into bloodied strips by the firepower of Jax's assault rifle, Jacqui's wrist cannons and Cassie's pistols.
Another ship crashes onto the shoreline, and Kung Lao and the Shaolin monks all acrobatically leap off the ship, landing expertly on the ship's large oars on its starboard side. They run across the oars and touch down on the ground to face the Netherrealm army. Kung Lao drops an oni with a jumping spin-kick, drops another with a punch and roundhouse kick, and a third with a snap kick.
The Netherrealm army also charged the last ship touching on land. On that ship, Kitana lifts a hand containing her bladed fans into the air. With a loud cry, she points with her fan to the army and leaps ashore, joined immediately by Baraka, Sheeva and Jade, and a second later followed by the soldiers, Tarkatan and Shokan they all command. The Outworld army pumps themselves up with chants as the Netherrealm army charges toward them, and with one final cry, they all run forward, joining the battle.
Kitana blocks a blow from a spiked club with her blades, throwing the weapon aside and cutting into the demon who wielded it. She knocks it down with a jumping high kick as Sheeva charges two demons, grabs their heads and bashes them together, knocking them down in a spray of blood, before backhanding another charging demon aside with her two right hands.
Back at the Special Forces boat, Cassie, Jacqui and Jax cut down countless demons approaching them with their gunfire, but it seems like they will soon be overwhelmed. But above them on the boat, the elder Jax stands on the edge of the bow. He leaps off, his fist charging with energy. Just as the Netherrealm army is about to swarm over them, Jax lands on the pier deck and smashes his fist into the ground. The resulting shockwave blasts the entire front ranks backward several feet, clearing the area. Jax looks back toward his daughter.
"This mean you're back?" Jacqui asked hopeful "This means I'm sorry, Jacqui. And hell yeah, I'm back" He replied
Jacqui immediately hugs her dad, to the delight of Cassie and the younger Jax. The moment is quickly broken though as the Netherrealm army finishes regrouping and charges once again. Cassie and Jacqui open fire once again, while both Jax's begin punching and kicking down every demon that steps too close to them. Even so, countless more demons make their way forward.
But all of them fail to notice a disturbance in the clouds above. The clouds swirl in toward what appears to be a red glow in the sky. The light soon becomes bright enough that both Jax's, Jacqui, Cassie and even the Netherrealm army look up to the sky in shock and wonder.
At the center of the red vortex is Liu Kang, charging up with lightning. On a balcony of Kronika's Keep, the revenants Kitana and Kung Lao also watch this spectacle, flanked by two demons. As the clouds turn and swirl around him, Liu Kang gathers his focus, bursts into flames and torpedos down into the center of the Netherrealm army guarding the gates to Kronika's Keep.
The impact he causes on landing is akin to a nuclear explosion, with the entire area surrounded by white for a few moments.
When the smoke clears, Liu Kang stands alone. The Netherrealm army in the field is simply gone, vaporized into nothingness. Only a small defensive force of Netherrealm oni survived to defend the gate, while a large number still waited within the Keep itself. Behind Liu Kang, the gathered army of heroes all cheer the display of power and charge forward toward the gate of the Keep.
With the Earthrealm / Outworld armies approaching behind him, Liu Kang strides toward the gates, his arms crackling with electricity. The remnant of demons roars in defiance and charges, to which Liu Kang responds by blasting lightning from his hand. The electricity catches one demon and then immediately chains the others around it. Within moments, all the demons have been fatally electrocuted.
Liu Kang walks up to the gates, with all the heroes following after.
"Stand back"
They all wait as Liu Kang charges up his hand with fire. He strikes the gate, and the impact is so devastating that on the other side, the frontlines of the Netherrealm army are thrown into the air from the massive explosion that occurs.
The army of heroes charges toward the keep, Liu Kang now taking to the skies once more. As he flies off to deal with the defenders near the back, Kitana stabs a charging demon multiple times with her bladed fans, knocking it down with a roundhouse kick. She slashes another demon several times over, almost completely eviscerating it, then stabs a third demon four times over, finishing with a stab straight through the top of its skull.
Kung Lao palm strikes a demon twice in the chest, then splits it in two vertically with a swipe of his bladed hat.
The younger Jax blocks a demon's punch and punches it twice, leaving it for his elder self to finish off. He swipes at another demon that actually manages to duck his attack and punch him back, but the elder Jax then charges in and hits two shots to the ribs that stun the demon. Younger Jax recovers and the two Jax's both wind up their fists and punch the demon on both sides of its head, completely obliterating it.
The heroes make their way to the Keep's entrance, and we cut to inside where the revenants Kung Lao, Kitana and Jade all run into the room where the hourglass is kept "Is the battle lost?" Asked Kitana "Victory is still at hand. The hourglass is nearly ready" Kronika replied.
She turns to the revenants.
"You will prevent Liu Kang's interference. But you will require more assistance"
Time energy flows from her hands toward the revenants. On the other side of the doorway, Liu Kang, Kitana and Kung Lao approach.
"Whatever happens, I am honored to fight at your side" Said Liu Kang "Likewise, Liu Kang," said Kitana as Kung Lao placed a hand on his shoulder saying "Me too, brother."
"May the Elder Gods protect us" Said Liu Kang.
He charges his hand up with fire and punches the doorway. This time, the door melts away rather than blowing up. The three heroes step through to find Kronika and Cetrion still manipulating the hourglass and (Name) on the floor chained with her daughter, but they are stopped by the appearance of revenant Jade, Kung Lao and Kitana, all wearing new attire in the same white-gold of Kronika's clothing. Kronika looks over to Liu Kang.
"Liu Kang, God of Thunder and Fire. Combined with Raiden has the benefit of novelty. But it is also too little, too late" Said Kronika while (Name) and Calithea looked in shock at Liu Kang.
She turns back to the hourglass and pours her energy into it. The revenants move forward slightly, but don't attack. The sands in the hourglass begin to flow upwards as Liu Kang runs forward to attack, but as he does so, Kung Lao and Kitana come to a frozen halt. As Liu Kang stops and turns around, they begin to move in reverse.
"Kitana! Kung Lao!" he calls out as he tries to Kitana's hand, but is unable to stop her from moving backward. To his dismay, he can only watch as time starts to unwind, and with it, both Kitana and Kung Lao step back through the door, which unmelts and seals itself once again. Liu Kang looks back toward Kronika and the revenants, unaffected by the reversal of time.
(Name) growls and glares up at Kronika "Cheating bitch! What? Can't handle a fair fight!?" she snaps at her but Kronika only glances at her momentarily before returning her attention to the hourglass.
We cut to the scenes from before where the armies of Earthrealm and Outworld collided with the Netherrealm army, only now these scenes are being rewound. The Outworld army jumps back on their ship in reverse, the Shaolin monks leap backward on the oars of their ship, and the pier docks are reformed as Kharon's ships rewind and undo the crash damage they inflicted. Scorpion teleports in reverse back onto his ship, while Sub-Zero undecapitates and unshatters the frozen demons from earlier, sliding backwards to his ship. Kharon's ships sail off in reverse, and the Netherrealm army runs backward from the shoreline.
Back in Kronika's Keep, Liu Kang steels himself. Kronika looks over at him.
"Raiden's gift shields you from the power of the hourglass. Regardless, your allies are gone, while mine remain to defend me" She motions to the revenants.
"Finish him!"
Jade and Kitana charge Liu Kang at the same time. He parries Jade's staff with his hands and ducks under a swipe but walks into a roundhouse kick from Kung Lao. As Liu Kang staggers back, he manages to block an ax kick from Kitana but takes a sidekick to the stomach from her when she counterattacks. Kung Lao immediately strikes him in the face with another roundhouse kick, then Jade hits him in the knee with her staff and twirls around to smash it into his chest.
Liu Kang remains on his feet as the revenants come in again. He catches Kitana's hand before she can swipe him with her bladed fan and blocks Jade's staff with his other arm, but this leaves him open to Kung Lao, who blasts him with a barrage of fists to his sternum. With Liu Kang stunned, Kung Lao steps back and delivers a sidekick to the sternum that knocks Liu Kang backward, sending him crashing hard to the ground.
"Liu!" (Name) calls out worried as she struggles against the chains. Calithea slips out of her and gets up running "Fire man!" she calls out (Name) worried even more "Cali! No!" (Name) yells jumping to her feet, pulling at her chains and cuffs, trying to free herself.
For a moment, Liu Kang writhes on the floor but struggles to his feet. The revenants remain in fighting stances. Liu Kang closes his eyes to focus... and hears the voice of Raiden.
"Earthrealm's Jinsei flows within you. Let it fuel your fire"
He opens his eyes again, and now they sparkle with electricity. His face etched with fierce determination, Liu Kang looks to the heavens and roars with fury. Lightning strikes his body and fire explodes out of it once more. He shifts into a fighting stance, dispelling the fire and electricity as the three revenants charge him again.
Kung Lao attacks first with a barrage of punches, but Liu Kang parries them all, as well as some staff strikes from Jade. He then blocks a high kick from Kitana and another from Kung Lao, dodging between strikes from Kitana's fans. He grabs Kitana's hand as she tries to stab him, then steps forward and judo throws her to the floor. Before she can recover he punches her in the face, knocking her unconscious.
Liu Kang then throws a roundhouse kick that counters a palm strike from Kung Lao, blocks some more punches and lands a straight punch to Lao's face, sending him reeling back. Kang turns to his side as Jade tries to flank him, deflecting her staff attacks with his fists and feet. He jump-kicks her in the face, punches Kung Lao again when he tries to charge in and blasts him in the chest with a fireball, knocking him down.
Jade tries to stab him with her staff, but Liu Kang dodges around it, punches her in the face, then takes her staff with both hands and wrenches it downward. As Jade staggers forward, Liu Kang knees her in the face, knocking off her mask. He then twirls the staff around - taking Jade with it - and forces it against her throat, while he grabs her head from behind and pushes it down against her staff.
It's not long before Jade begins to struggle for breath, and she falls to her knees. As she lets go of her staff, Liu Kang leans downward and springs back with a devastating knee strike to the back of her neck. The blow is so powerful that Jade's staff breaks in two from the impact, and the revenant assassin collapses on the floor, killed instantly by the strike.
Liu Kang throws the broken pieces of Jade's staff to the floor and assumes another fighting stance. He addresses Kitana, who has just begun to pick herself off the floor.
"Now stand down! I have no wish to harm you.
"Harm me?! You already KILLED me! My fate was sealed the moment I joined you at Raiden's side. It's a mistake I won't repeat in the New Era"
They fight. Even with Kitana's Edenian speed and thousands of years of battle experience, Liu Kang had bested her before. And even with the power of Kronika in her revenant form, it proves to be no match for the Fire God that is Liu Kang. Taking advantage of his newfound abilities, he quickly finishes the fight and leaves Kitana down on the ground.
"Our friendship was no mistake"
He looks over to Kung Lao, who has also started to rise from the floor "Your ego knows no bounds!" Said Kung Lao. Liu Kang walks toward the revenant "I did not ask for this. It was thrust upon me" Liu Kang tried to reason with him "It should have been ME, Liu Kang, from the beginning! Thanks to Kronika, it will be"
They fight. While Kung Lao has lost none of the speed and ability that carried him to victory many times in life, and is powered up further by Kronika's machinations, it turns out to be his ego that is too big for him. The Fire God Liu Kang takes the fight to the revenant and defeats him in short order.
With Kung Lao turn, Liu Kang turns to Kronika.
Unknown to him Kitana slowly got back up and prepared to attack him from behind when a large ball of fire slammed into her, knocking her to the floor, head first, and rendering her unconscious, Liu Kang looked at the now unconscious Kitana then to (Name).
But (Name) was still shackled she looked behind him in disbelief "That...wasn't me" she whispered wide-eyed. Liu Kang looks back behind him shocked the fireball still remained in one place but slowly extinguished. All that stood there was Calithea, glaring at the fallen Kitana, without a single injury and a few embers on her skin. She points at Kitana "That was for killing my mommy and trying to hurt mama's friend!" she shouted. Liu Kang walked over to her and petted her hair smiling "Well done, little one" He said making her giggle as he picked her up. Calithea looks at her mother and laughs "Look, mama!" She says waving her hands "I'm just like you!" (Name) tears up and smiles "Yeah baby. Just like me" she says softly. Liu Kang walks to (Name) and unbinds her. Calithea leaps into her mother's awaiting arms happily.
Liu Kang turned again to Kronika "Still, you are alive" She said "Yes, Kronika. You were right to fear mine and Raiden's powers combined" He replied "A demi-god's power cannot rival that of an Elder God. Cetrion!"
Kronika steps aside to reveal Cetrion - who rather than the green outfit she wore earlier, is now decked out in red, with glowing eyes to match. Her new attire makes her look similar in appearance to a succubus "As you wish, Mother" Says Cetrion.
Cetrion throws fireballs at Liu Kang which he dodges and flips over. Liu Kang shoots a fireball of his own which Cetrion blocks. She shoots off a blast of wind that Kang cartwheels to avoid and another which he ducks under. She then throws a roundhouse kick that shoots a spark of ice, which he blocks but sends him back several feet. Liu Kang recovers quickly and jump kicks the air, shooting a fireball from his leg that Cetrion barely ducks under. She shoots another fireball that Kang ducks from, and he launches another roundhouse kick that shoots a fireball that catches her in the face, sending her onto her hands and knees. She stands again quickly "You match me step for step," She says.
She kicks the air again, sending out a fireball and an ice blast. Liu Kang dodges both projectiles and counters with a lightning blast that electrocutes the Elder Goddess, knocking her to the floor. Behind her, Kronika stares on at Liu Kang, eyes wide with fear as Cetrion struggles to rise, still being wracked with electricity.
(Name) and Calithea stands back. (Name) doesn't interfere. Something inside her tells her to stay back just like at the collisium when she let Kitana face off against Shao Kahn. Calithea watches 'fire man' fight Cetrion.
"Because your heart is not in the battle, Cetrion. You fight for your mother's vision. But as a goddess of virtue you know that her desired balance is folly" Liu Kang says
As Cetrion stands up, Kronika walks over to her "Heed me, Cetrion! He lacks our vision and wisdom!" She says. Cetrion turns away from her, clearly conflicted "Please. No virtue is served by condemning the realms to endless war" Liu Kang implores her. Cetrion looks back at Kronika for a moment, then steels herself, facing Liu Kang once again.
"The greatest virtue is abiding my mother's will, Liu Kang. I cannot fail her"
They fight. With her powers over nature and all of its elements, Cetrion should indeed be a match for the Fire God Liu Kang. But the battle does not sway that way, because Liu Kang is also the God of Thunder and he takes full advantage of the internal conflict raging in Cetrion's mind. Slipping past her attacks and into her defenses, Liu Kang manages to do the impossible and overpower the Elder Goddess, knocking her to the floor.
"Your heart betrays you, Cetrion"
Laying on the ground, Cetrion looks over to Kronika "I have failed you" She says pitifully "Dearest Cetrion, you have done admirably" What little forced compassion is in Kronika's voice dispels as Cetrion rises to her feet "Yet there is one final service to perform" She says. Cetrion looks downcast but also resigned to her fate "Yes, Mother. I understand" She said defeatedly.
She raises her hands to the heavens and cries out. Her form disintegrates into a glowing ball of multicolored light that flies into Kronika. The power that Cetrion wielded now flows out of Kronika "You will be exalted in the New Era, Cetrion"
"What is wrong with you?"
Kronika and Liu Kang turn to (Name), who stares at Kronika with disgust "She...she was your daughter...Your child, your creation and you used her to fill the fucking hourglass?" She said her rage slowly building. Calithea gets out of her mother's arms and stands next to her "She did EVERYTHING you asked of her, even if it meant going against everything she stood for, every moral she had, and you didn't even care nor hesitate to use her very life for your selfish desires! have you no shame?!" She yells. Kronika looked indifferent "I am her mother. It was her honor to do this" She replied. (Name) growled as she lit her hands up with fire "You...don't deserve the title of mother!"
Liu Kang and (Name) throw a fireball each, but Kronika effortlessly bats it aside. He looks at his hands in confusion for a moment as does (Name), but puts it aside and charges her. Kronika blasts a storm of sand from her palms, striking Liu Kang and knocking him down "And YOU, Liu Kang, have FAILED!" Kronika said.
She turns to the hourglass and uses her time powers once again. The sand continues to flow upwards, increasing in speed. (Name) picks up Calithea again and clutches her to her chest afraid for her daughter's life as Calithea cries and buries her face in her mother's chest. Liu Kang rises to his feet and Kronika looks over at him again "History rewinds, giving way to the New Era!" Kronika said "NO!" Liu Kang exclaimed. He looks at (Name) and her scared expression and how Calithea is crying in fear. He runs to them and brings them both into his arms to shield them as much as he can as (Name) buries her head in his shoulder.
Around them, Kronika's Keep suddenly fades away, as they and the hourglass are transported through time and through realms, emerging in pre-historic Earthrealm. They appear in a luscious and beautiful forest, with a dead dinosaur in the background. The area surrounding the hourglass is distorted, seemingly opening out into space. Kronika hovers above Liu Kang, slowly coming down to ground level.
Liu Kang lets go of (Name) and Calithea and walks away from them far enough so that they won't be included in the fight. He sends (Name) a confident smile before he faces Kronika.
"The realms as you knew them are undone. Erased. You cannot save a future that no longer exists! There is only the New Era!"
They fight. The battle is truly epic, with neither Liu Kang nor Kronika getting any clear advantage for the majority of it. For what seems like an age, the newly born Fire God and the architect of the Mortal Kombat universe fight with every power they have, but eventually, Liu Kang prevails and knocks Kronika to her knees. She struggles to her feet.
"The realms will not fight your endless wars"
"Fight me further and your friends are lost. They have no future unless I create it" Kronika says getting to her feet
"The future you offer is not worth living! It will NOT come to pass!" Liu Kang exclaims.
They fight. Once again, the battle proves to be a meeting of two unstoppable forces. But this time Liu Kang gets the upper hand and knocks Kronika to her knees.
"With or without you, I will restore the timeline!"
Kronika growls in anger and rises to her feet. She telekinetically hurls another two asteroids at Liu Kang, but he kicks them to pieces.
"Sculpting the Sands of Time requires great power and skill. You have neither, Liu Kang. You may be a god, but I am a Titan!
They fight. Once again, the battle proves to be a meeting of two unstoppable forces. But, with (Name) and Calithea shouting words of encouragement, Liu Kang overpowers Kronika and knocks her to her knees.
As Kronika rises, Liu Kang charges up a fireball and blasts her straight in the chest. He shoots three more, each striking the helpless Kronika, before charging up a final blast that shoots out from his hands like a flamethrower. The blast engulfs Kronika entirely, and when it ends we see that her entire body has molded into what looks like molten organic glass.
Liu Kang approaches the now crystalline form of Kronika. He chops her outstretched hand, shattering her arm to the elbow, then repeats the motion with her other arm, shattering that too. Growling in fury, he roundhouse kicks her across the face, and her entire head explodes into pieces. He then contemptuously pushes down what remains of her body, letting it break apart completely upon impact with the ground.
With the Titan of Time lying dead at his feet, Liu Kang closes his eyes, trying to find focus again when he's engulfed in a hug. He opens his eyes to see, both, (Name) and Calithea hugging him smiling. He smiles back and returns the hug "She is gone. There is nothing to fear anymore" He said pulling back enough to see (Name)'s face "We're just happy you're alive and well, Liu," She said smiling. Calithea smiles up at him "You're ok, Fire man! No more bad lady!" She says showing off her little fangs in her smile. He chuckles and pets her hair "Correct, little one. No more bad lady"
"Our work is finished, Liu Kang.
Liu Kang turns around. Behind him stands Raiden...but something is different. Raiden's attire is the same as before, but his voice no longer reverberates with power.
"Lord Raiden" Liu Kang said surprised as he let go of (Name). Raiden looks up at him. There is no electric blue glow in his eyes. His pupils are brown and look entirely human "I am merely Raiden, now. You have proven worthy to take my place as the new Protector of Earthrealm, once it is restored" Raiden said "You honor me, Raiden" Liu Kang replied as he clasped his hands and bowed "The honor is mine, Lord Liu Kang. The sands of time are yours to shape. It falls upon you to architect a new history" Said Raiden before he turned to (Name) with a remorseful look in his eyes.
"Lady (Name). I know I do not deserve to even ask for your forgiveness for all the harm and pain I have put you through the years" Raiden said with sorrow before a hand was placed on his shoulder "I forgive you Raiden...Yes, it hurt for many years but I grew stronger because of those actions. so please don't beat yourself up over it" S.he said smiling at him as he returned the smile. (Name) looked to Liu Kang "time to give the realms the histories they deserve, Liu" (Name) said smiling
"The fate of all realms... in my hands? Raiden, I cannot do this alone" Liu Kang said slightly nervous "I shall advise you for as long as my mortality allows. But have no doubt, you are up to the task" Raiden replied "As will I. We won't leave you alone while we still exist" (Name) said with a look of determination and Calithea giggled looking up at him.
"Then together, let us begin" Liu Kang said determined
As the four of them turn to the hourglass, the camera pans up into the shining cosmos of space. The future may be uncertain, but it looks hopeful.
Cut to black.
(This isn't the end of the story just yet. I still have to do the Aftermath DLC because its been stated that it's canon and leads into the next game Mortal Kombat 1. It'll Take some time since it's going to be hard to insert the reader and not have her or Calithea cross paths with her past self)

What are your feelings about Fujin x Raiden (this ship actually exists)
To each their own, but not my ship lol. I can kinda see how some might finagle an excuse for Fujin X Raiden because they're gods. And in most media (unless stated otherwise) gods are not often created through procreation (doing the nightly tango, if you will). So, they could just be brothers by name. I mean, look at Cetrion, she may be the "daughter" of Kronika, but Kronika most likely just created her out of thin air or something that didn't involve coupling with another titan or god.
WITH THAT BEING SAID! Many people in fandoms are not comfortable with incest relationships (I often find it that there's a lot of back & forth between incest relationships that I'm not going to go into, and please don't ask me about it), and despite the "possibility" that Raiden and Fujin might not be BLOOD BROTHERS, they still call each other brothers, regardless.
But, that's my take, not my cup of tea

Gods/Titans x Reader: Birthday Gift Headcanons
Characters: Shinnok, Raiden, Fujin, Liu Kang, Shang Tsung, Cetrion, Kronika
A/N: Not me forgetting Shang Tsung was a Titan in the last one I did like this, *cough cough*. This is a lot fluffier than my usual content, enjoy!
TW: Nothing really, aside from maybe an implied yandere with a few characters.
18+ to interact.
Shinnok
Likely doesn't know when your birthday is, nor does he care to ask. He's existed since before the concept of time, so what's another year around the sun supposed to mean to him? You’ll accidentally tell him about your birthday too, thinking out loud while he's around. Like, “oh it's my birthday today” or “I wonder if my birthday's coming up.” To which, he'll scoff and ask why you care about such a thing. Mortals and their customs have always irked him to no end.
For that reason, you shouldn't expect a gift or anything special when your b-day does roll around. If Shinnok wishes to treat you he'll do it any day out of the year. And his treats are rare, so I recommend appreciating them when they come.
If Shinnok was to buy you a gift, he'd consider his tastes more than your own. So that means receiving items he likes and you may not enjoy. This includes: literature in an unknown language, skulls or other trophies from his enemies, overly ornate jewelry or clothing, and even a fresh soul for decoration or consumption. Be sure to smile and thank him even if the present is… Undesirable. It'll save you some pain and maybe he'll get you something better next time.
Raiden
He hasn't asked when your birthday is simply to be polite. But, you'll likely tell Raiden at some point and he'll never forget the day. Like most characters on this list, he doesn't have a birthday himself to celebrate. He understands how important it is to mortals however, and will make an effort to impress you.
Raiden may not get you a gift for your birthday though. It's not because he doesn't care, but because he'd rather not incite rumors or other speculations in his followers. This is especially true if your relationship is secret or even forbidden. It pains him, but he binds himself to a certain standard for good reason. It's only if he became Dark Raiden, or if your relationship was open/public would he offer you a present.
Raiden isn't very much “in-touch” with mortals, so he would also base a gift on his preferences. He enjoys things that enrich the mind and offer more perspective on the world. Some examples are: classical literature/philosophy, historical records or artifacts, spiritual aids such as incense or other herbs, and potentially a jar of Jinsei only if you have max trust with him.
Fujin
He asks you about your birthday, and like his brother he doesn't forget. While he doesn't have a birthday either, he likely adopts a fake one just to connect with humans. So, he knows the importance of your b-day and will ponder what to give you months ahead of time.
He's the first of the characters here to consider your preferences over his own. He'll ask you a lot of probing questions to find out your likes, but he's rather smooth about it so you won't know the intent behind it. He also observes you and learns more about your hobbies, while also doing a little bit of research on them to see what would make a good present.
The type of gift he offers is dependent on you, but he'll aim for something affordable yet memorable. It's worth noting that he may also invest in an experience such as going to a certain city or place. For your birthday Fujin would like to take you to a local restaurant, see a movie or some form of theater, or bring you something you've always wanted.
Also, please give this man a gift for his fake birthday. He will appreciate it.
Liu Kang
He should have an idea of when you were born due to him crafting your destiny. But, he makes sure to ask so you're not surprised about him knowing when your birthday is. His god-like memory won't allow him to forget your birthday, and he plans ahead for it a crisp 11 months in advance. He needs the time, considering all of the duties on his plate.
Like Raiden, offering you a gift on your birthday may cause jealousy in the Wu Shi Academy. The last thing Liu Kang wants is for his subordinates to suspect he has some kind of favoritism towards you. However, he has little problem with your relationship being public if you're dating. So, if you're in a relationship with him you'll get a gift. If not, he'll just say “happy birthday" and recommend you take the day off.
He’s considerate of your tastes when scrounging up a present. At the same time, if he feels that giving you what you want would enable bad habits, (ex: behavioral addictions or an unhealthy lifestyle) then he'll resort to a more generic gift. Some examples include: birthday/gift card, baked goods, potted plant or gardening seeds, and candles.
Shang Tsung
He knows your birth date, home address, and banking information before you've even met him. He enjoys thoroughly researching his prey before acting, so he knows all the little details of your life. And once he's wrapped you around his little thumb, you happily spill to him when your birthday is.
His gift is determined by your relationship with him. If he's in the early stages of wooing you, then he'll get whatever you love. His budget is the most lenient out of anyone here, so if you want something on the more expensive side you'll get it. He can be far too lavish with it as well, easily spending thousands of dollars to get what you desire. Of course, he'll keep reassuring you that such a paltry amount is nothing if it's for you…
If he has you under his control already, then he just gets a gift that will please him. He sees you as a little trophy to show off and tease all the time, so you can imagine what his gifts would be like. Fine silks, opulent jewelry, fancy furniture for you to lay on… If the gift is anything that visually stimulates him and shows off his power then he'll offer it to you.
Cetrion
She knows when your birthday is because she is nigh omnipresent. However, unlike everyone else in this list, she likely won't be able to spend time with you on your birthday. Cetrion would observe you from afar, in Heaven, unless you've already died or she's gained her freedom from Kronika. Still, that doesn't mean she won't do something special for your birthday.
Cetrion has to be a bit sneaky when giving you a gift. While other Gods have to worry about their mortal followers getting angry, she has to worry about the wrath of Elder Gods and a Titan. But, she's been playing this game for a long, long time. She has her methods of getting one or two things past without their notice.
Cetrion's gift involves her powers. She may grow a large and beautiful tree in your yard overnight. Or (especially if you garden) find all of your plants blooming and thriving. If there's a particular animal you've really wanted as a pet, it'll show up practically on your doorstep -begging you to adopt it. Alternatively, you may just wake up with a power you've never had, wondering when in the hell were you able to talk to animals or had a green thumb.
Kronika
She probably cares the least about a birthday, second to only her son Shinnok maybe. But unlike him, she's far more considerate of you once you're in a relationship. If you want to celebrate the passage of time, so be it.
She sees herself as an artisan in a way, and would likely craft you a gift utilizing her powers. By the end of it, you may end up with a powerful artifact on the levels of Shinnok's Amulet or a Kamidogu. Naturally, whatever object she creates will be imbued with the power of time. Speeding up time, stopping time, reversing time -as long as it relates to chronokinesis she'll create it.
And although she'll put time (literally) and effort into a present, her most important gift to you would be her presence. She'll want to hang out with you like normal, simply enjoying each other's company and voice. Kronika makes for a surprisingly good partner on your b-day. She's swayed many people to her side and for good reason -she considers other people's thoughts and desires. Of course, this is all assuming you didn't break her heart.

One of the many reasons I really hate the Sindel Retcon in MK11. I have half the mind to say that Sindel became the way she was in MK11 because of Kronika's interference and it was a different Sindel all along.
Better yet
MK11 is a different timeline than MK9 because of the inconsistencies it had with 2011 (9) and even with X.
In MK9, Sindel supposedly placed a protection spell on Earthrealm before offing herself so that her conquering husband, who killed her king, wouldn't be able to conquer Earthrealm... and now 11 would have us believe that she was the one who killed her king?
What about the protection spell she cast on Earthrealm then?
The Elder gods certainly do not care if one realm slaughters another, looking at you Cetrion, the supposed goddess of virtue and goodness.
Both Raiden and Fujin.... wait...
Wait...
Raiden and Fujin are idiots. for gods, they are idiots. If Sindel can cast such a spell, why can't both Raiden and Fujin cast one to protect Earthrealm, not unless the Elder gods forbade it...
Gah the MK lore is headache-inducing.
Point is, I hate the MK11 Retcon they did for Sindel.

Here’s how I would change the rooster + with some other stuff. (Related to Kahn Coin Au)
MKX
Add Revenant Jade to the rooster but kill her off in the story
Have Skarlet as a npc fighter that get killed off in story.
Have Moroban (New Character and Leader of the Shadow Priest) be an npc fighter with a fighting style similar to Ermac then have killed off in story.
Have Shao Kahn on the rooster but only playable through one of Kotal’s variations. Give him unique voice lines, a new kombat style, his own unique x rays and fatalities as while as his own arcade ending.
Have Onaga as an npc fighter (In Flashback and/or mindscape battle)
Bonus: Have a stage set in Armageddon, on top of the pyramid of Argus. (In story this will take place in a mindscape battle while the stage itself can unlock through DLC)
MK11
Add Ermac to the Rooster
Turn Sonya Blade into a Revenant and give her new kombat skills with her revenant skin.
Keep Jade but remove her Revenant from the story (Since she’s dead)
Age up Ferra and make her an npc fighter
No Past Scorpion
Have present Scorpion be killed off by Noob Saibot
Then have Noob Saibot be redeemed by his brother Kuai Liang. The two brothers return back to the fire garden only to have Raiden attack Bi-han for not believing he has changed. Similar to Scorpion in the original game.
Keep D’Vorah on the rooster but kill her off.
Reptile will get some relevancy in the story although unsure if he’ll make the rooster. If not give his move sets to Sub Zero with reptile skin.
Maybe add Cyborg Sub Zero and past Bi-han into the story.
Remove Kollector from the rooster he serves no purpose. Although keep him in the story but don’t make him playable. He could still serve a purpose by being a npc fighter.
Bring Mileena back through her clone army ending from mkx. She can be release as a DLC similar to Tanya in mkx.
Remove Rain. Save him for Mk12.
Add Bo’Rai Cho on the rooster and give him a chapter
Give Dark Raiden some relevancy in the story instead of killing him off one chapter later.
Make Fire God Liu Kang playable after beating the story.
Give Kai, Kenshi and Kung Jin a cameo scene.
Bring Shang Tsung and Quan Chi from the past into the present. Add Shang Tsung to the main rooster but have only Quan Chi as non fight-able character.
Add Cyrax and Sekktor to main ropster, but to save room on the rooster have a cyborg character on the rooster that shares the cyborg variations. Just bring Triborg into the game.
Bonus: Have a stage set in the heavens. In story there will be (Raiden vs Dark Raiden and Raiden vs Cetrion) Although this stage will only be playable through story.
Also we will be going on the assumption that the chapter system is gone.

Her clothes:
Tumblr media
Her aesthetic (created by me):
Tumblr media
Her story (sorry if this English is terrible, I made this from the google translator)
WARNING: abuse since childhood and a lot of violence (if you don’t like it, please skip it! Thanks)
In a small city, there was a house where a woman and three children lived. A mother named Hana Saito, and her three children, Sophia (older sister), Mitsuko (the middle sister) and Shiro (the younger brother).
They were very happy, even living inside a forest, Hana never let her children go out into the forest, and they never understood.
One day, Hana met a man, in whom Mitsuko did not have a good impression. His name was Josh, in Mitsuko's view he was never a good man.
Josh always acted strangely, until one day, Hana disappeared. And after that, Mitsuko's life began to become hell. Josh began to give her orders such as cleaning the house, being used to hurt her siblings, etc. He always asked her to do bad things... She felt so much pain and she couldn't take it anymore.
She wanted to know where her mother was, and why he always treated her badly. Always scratching her back, as if he were looking for something, until one day, Josh kicked out Mitsuko. All hurt and hopeless.
She ran into a forest near the city and took off her life, finally in peace...
Or
So was what she thought…
Mitsuko heard a sweet and feminine voice
Cetrion- poor child, that wasn't my plan for you. I'll give you a second chance to live, just like I did with Shiro. My name is Cetrion, goddess of Virtue and mother of all angels. I'll see you soon, child of the Light.
Mitsuko woke up near a Mortal Kombat tournament, she met Raiden and Liu Kang. They treated her very well. She always saw Liu Kang as her older brother.
In the middle of the tournament, she met a boy named Arien, he was a student of Shang Tsung. He didn't have a good first impression with Raiden, and he didn't have a very good reputation. But he changed sides and decided to fight with Mitsuko (if you want I can show him his story) And also, she saw that her older sister, Sophia, was working for Shao Khan, and that disappointed her a lot. I’m
In the end, she saw several champions die in front of her eyes, Raiden invited her to participate in the White Lotus. She accepted.
There she met Bo Rai'Cho and Fujin, she had a great relationship with the two. She saw Fujin as a real father to her, unlike Josh, the God of the wind said he knew her past life, of an angel named Miguel, he was an angel just like her, white hair, kind personality.
Fujin- he always helped people and also their enemies. The poor boy died as a child...
At MK10, she began doing research on her clan of angels, along with her husband Arien. She discovered that there were several species of angels on earth and Outworld. When she managed to gather the species, she became their new leader.
And also, she teamed up with Sophia to get revenge on Josh.
At Mk11, Mitsuko disappeared, leaving Arien and his daughter, Cheryl. When Kronika stopped time, she brought the child Mitsuko to the present.
To gather an army of angels against Kronika, only one angel could lead them, and the only one was Mitsuko. Then at the age of 10, she led a huge army of angels.
In the aftermath, current Mitsuko was in the void along with Fujin, Nightwolf and Shang Tsung. She found out that Shiro worked for Kronika, it infuriated her. She saw her best friend become a God of thunder and fire, and embraced him after so many years without seeing him.
She had to use her healing power to resurrect Sindel, and the rest you know. But when Mitsuko was on the boat of the Outworld champions, she was defeated by Shao Kahn and had her wings torn off and died.
When Liu Kang restarted time, she had a more peaceful life, with no deaths, no violence and no betrayals.
