I like the idea of the Shezzarines having a completely detached sense of morality due to CHIM and shit.

Like, they can pause the game and reload, which means that not only death is meaningless to them, but everything is like a dream that they can replay over and over.

Think like... Raakdos from Ravnica, the giant demon not his cult. He spends most of his time slumbering, so when he wakes up he does the wildest shit because he believes he's still dreaming.

A Shezzarine would be a terrifying thing to have around honestly, these single minded yet easily distracted monsters who have absolute control over who lives and who dies. You are having a drink in your local tavern when the local racist scumbag starts shit with a newcomer, and you think it's just going to devolve into the usual brawl only for the new comer to just, unblinkingly, tear the guy's neck out with their bare hands, and then head toward someone else with the sword they requested them to fetch.

A self aware NPC reacting to the shit you do as a elder Scrolls Protagonist with the appropriate horror would be insane to see. Like, not even like they tried to do in Frontier when they tried to riff Spec Ops: The Line AND Metal Gear Solid at the same time with their "Maybe you're the real monster given all the people you killed" shit, but more like the Arbiter does in the Forgotten City Mid for Skyrim, where he judges everything you did till you meet him and reacts accordingly, even if as a god not than a mortal.

Like... Psychological horror Dragonborn Story. The protagonist is a now self aware Lydia and is aware that at any given time she could be murdered in cold blood or worse. It ends with the Dragonborn realising she has become self aware and either "modding" her personality out in favour of something more compliant, or the player behind the screen realizes to his extreme horror that the people he has been killing on a whim, even the nameless bandits, are actually self aware and living and deciding to live them alone as a result because one thing is doing it to a videogame the other is doing it to "real" peopke.

It's literally a black mirror episode if you think about it. Or Moggworld realy.

The Gathering Storm, Chapter 3

In my defense, I had to do five 30-minute shifts of carts in 90 degrees (Fahrenheit) heat. We got cold water and gatorade, but it was still exhausting. But enough about that, more actual story! Y’hear that, Greg? An actual story!!!

OH FUCK I JUST REALIZED. Dovin Baan got blinded in War of the Spark: Ravnica. He’s immune to Vraska’s petrification -- he can’t see her!

Spiked fences? I mean it does fit with the the whole uncaring government appeal, but you just know that at least 15 Raakdos cultists have impaled someone on ‘em.

Okay, so the lieutenant is letting her subordinates do all the arguing, but her boss is “Against the rear wall”. Implying that Aurelia is just leaning against the wall and just watching all this go down, and it’s hilarious.

Aurelia’s features are described as androgynous.

Aurelia actually makes a good point. Someone may not be able to sue the government, but that doesn’t mean justice can’t be delivered against said government. Topical!

If Isperia could foresee things like sphinxes sometimes do, it was probably a good idea to only have the representatives enter. Otherwise the guild subordinates would turn upon one another quicker than you can say “petrify”.

Ral Zarek has to convince all the guilds to come to the summit. What could go wrong? No seriously, Bolas has this set up so perfectly, is there any way this can go wrong?

There’s a market in Azorius territory? God, that must be awful to work there... but then again they’d seem like the type to have their own coffee shops in-house.

They said it almost simultaneously, and Tomik smiled a little. --- Tomik's quick mind (and the way he fiddled with his glasses when he was flustered) had intrigued Ral, and he had taken the unusual step of suggesting they meet privately once the negotiations had concluded. After that, one thing had somehow led to another.

As someone who’s planning on moving in with his boyfriend that his Catholic mother doesn’t know about, this makes me so inconceivably happy seeing this, seeing these lovely little interactions between people like me. Just thank you, thank you so much for writing this, Django!

This is actually a good point. Rain mage is seen as mocking here: Ral only ever refers to himself as a storm mage.

Curious line. I’m assuming he means interguild conflict in general, unless (given it’s in a vaguely foreign style) he’s a planeswalker too.

"Excellent," the stranger said. "Then we have much to discuss." He extended a hand, and Ral shook it. "Ral Zarek," Ral said. "Bolas," the stranger said. He grinned, his smile showing very white, slightly pointed teeth. "Nicol Bolas."

The Simic Combine's watery habitat is made up of huge sinkholes filled with the overflow from a subterranean ocean. Zonot Seven is the only zonot within Ravnica City proper, and it contains Zameck, the Simic guildhall. ln contrast to the rest of the precinct, the zonot is a bustling place, with activity at all hours. A huge chamber just below the street surface serves as a gathering place for all the Simic speakers, as well as a place where visitors can meet with Prime Speaker Vannifar or other Simic emissaries.

Tin Street is a well-known business quarter and neighborhood that is considered the longest unbroken thoroughfare in the Tenth District, if not all of Ravnica. A straight, broad and ancient road, Tin Street has become a major byway for those traveling across the district, as it is intersected by several other major streets and has entrances to numerous side-roads and a thousand alleyways. Shops, restaurants, inns and entertainment venues of all sorts can be found along the length of Tin Street, and a steady watch is kept by patrolling wojeks, ledev guardians, Azorius hussars and the occasional Haazda volunteer.

Evenings are given over to communal gatherings, sometimes featuring performances by trained beasts or storytelling.
