you can guess what else i submitted based on the obscurity. sorry.

- preface i have never watched the james bond movies. my friend is obsessed with it and everything i know about these two is osmosis from xem. i cannot express this enough - these literally might be ocs at this point and xey're too stubborn to admit it's not james bond yaoi anymore

- typical soft vs hard but it goes both ways: • externally, bond is hard, he's a secret agent and goes on missions and nearly dies plenty of times. he's scarred, he's fit, he passes medicals. • externally, q is soft. he doesn't go into the field, he's the man behind the desk, directing the missions. he's skinny, he knows bare minimum self defence. he's not a barrier. • internally, bond is always on the move. he never settles down. he can't have a lover, a family, someone who gets him. it's a hazard, a risk. he, at most, has q guiding missions for consistency. • internally, q is so difficult. he has nothing dragging him from life, but he desperately wants the risk outside of work. he wants someone there that knows he's more than the quartermaster, more than someone that stands behind a desk. it's tempting, to flee, but he can't.

- bond and q are perfect foils. they have what each other crave but they can't commit to romance. even now, they don't want it, don't need it. but there's this understanding between them, that they're more than just friends. they're not in love, but they are: they know the ins and outs, how each other work, what drives the other to function. they match. they work.

- they have banter and jokes nobody else gets, but they know they're not meant to get it, it's something for bond and q to understand - they constantly worry over one another and it would physically ache if the other was damaged - they both know there's no love, but there's Love. when bond goes to sleep in the field he thinks of q, waiting there with open arms. when q works late at mi6, he watches bond on missions, silently praying for all to go well

- in fanfiction q always has cats. these cats have no canon name. i think this adds to the appeal of qbond qpr - q is literally named q he is the q in the qpr. if you flip the b in bond a few times you also get the p

- bond still seeks romance outside of the qpr and this is respected and occasionally joked upon when bond is comfortable - bond's romantic and sexual prospects aren't a liability to the relationship, instead q embraces it and encourages bond to do so, to have someone else to feel safe with because he Deserves it

Bond endures two bony stabs of an elbow to his side before he looks up from reading the labels of the yoghurt cups. “What?” He says, not a little miffed when he sees Q craning his neck to look out to the other aisle.

“Bond, did you see?”

“See what?”

Q whirls around and frowns. Eyes burning with a driven intensity that has Bond cued in to the gravitas of the here and now. Grabbing the yoghurts, he shoves them back onto the shelf, tugging Bond along behind him as he scurries across the brightly lit Tesco floor, and round to the cereal section. Bond bites back the long-suffering sigh that bubbles up within him; long since learned that when his lover gets it within his head to do something, there really isn’t any stopping him.

“Do you see him? The young man with the brown hair in the well-tailored coat?” Bond tilts his head for a better look, picking up a box of instant Quaker oats, he nods, keeping tabs on said man. He isn’t sure where Q is going with this, or what he must’ve seen to cause his deep interest, but Bond is willing to ride this one out. Their dinner plans can wait.

The man in question is contemplating jams, pale lashes curtaining his eyes, lips twisted in thought as he rocks the jars in his hands. Bond reckons that he is probably far more athletic in build under that coat - vintage? - but it is the way he turns at the call of a smooth familiar voice that has Bond freezing up.

“Conrad, what about these?”

M strides past them, shoes falling on the floor in rhythmic beats. The top buttons of his shirt is undone, tie gone. There is a relaxed quality to his smile, and when the man looks up from his jams and a smile graces his plush lips, there is a bright and almost fond light in his blue eyes.

Q wraps a deceptively soft hand around his wrist and pulls him to a corner. Together, they pretend to consider the merits between Peaches and Cream, and Blueberries and Cream while unsureptiously spying on what looks like their boss and his… Boyfriend? Lover? The way M rakes his eyes over his Conrad’s face is anything but familial.

They look on as M steps closer to the man, smiling as they lean into each other, head bent close. Bond can’t help but be charmed by the way M’s hand lingers on the younger man’s waist, body language clear with familairity and ease. Q seems to have come to the same conclusion that this was clearly as private a moment a couple could have in a place like Tescos at three in the morning.

He’s struck by a realisation, in that moment, turning to Q; the way M looks at his Conrad, is more than a little, exactly like the way he looks at Q. Bond has to stifle the urge to laugh then. Feeling like a voyeur, he slides a hand over Q’s shoulder, steering him back to the milk.

“Come on. There’s nothing to see here,” He murmurs, pressing a brief kiss to the side of his head. Q, to his credit, doesn’t disagree.

“Mallory,” Conrad’s eyes twinkle with mischief and teasing. “Your men are horrible at spycraft.”

He sighs, bagging their groceries and loading them back into the trolley. Bond and Q will be too professional to bring this little discovery of theirs up in the office, but he does feel disconcerted that they would be bumping into each other in a Tesco of all places.

“Mallory?”

Conrad’s touch on the back of his hand is light. “Not everyone can be Kingsmen, you know?” He chuckles, slipping their palms together. Conrad smiles, and gives the trolley a push.

“I’m sure that if you talked to Harry, he’d open up a slot for you without question,” Conrad says.

M laughs then, walking in step with him into the rain drenched asphalt of the deserted parking lot. He doesn’t have quite the heart to tell him that Harry has been asking him about it at least once a year over a glass of Whiskey since their trainee days.

00q fic recs: wing fic

i have, interestingly, fallen into a rabbit hole of some sort involving wing fics of all things. (perhaps i just have an interest in seeing winged!q? who knows)

1. Lost or Flown Away by winterhill

Sherlock/Skyfall crossover. Wing shape and colour shouldn't mean anything, not in this enlightened age, but it does. Q had been quite happily passing as a blackbird until Sherlock threw himself off a building and didn't bother to fly.

as you might have guessed, i am also in the sherlock fandom, so this fic was quite a treat for me. i loved the concept to bits.

2. Safeguard This Hallowed Heart by blackidyll (@blackidyll​)

In a world where breaking an angel's heart has dire consequences, James Bond (Double-O agent, consummate flirt and infamous heartbreaker) decides to court MI6's primary and only celestial being in residence – namely, the Quartermaster.

All of MI6, from the newest Q Branch recruit to M himself, takes exception to this.

(Canon fic, with the AU element that Q is an angel in addition to being the Quartermaster).

3. My Demons Play Well With Yours by Only_1_Truth

In the wake of the attack on MI6, M is ordered to clean house and strengthen her organization - so she goes and hires a demon. Demons are territorial, possessive, and this one also has some impressive technological skills. Many people in MI6 are against it. A demon for a Quartermaster?? Those opposed have one hope: James Bond. 007 has killed demons before - even a Duke of Hell. And now he's coming home...

No one is sure what will happen, but one thing is for sure: MI6 is about to become a hellishly interesting place...

ok technically not an obvious wing fic because q’s wings have been cut (voluntarily! i promise! no pitchforks needed!), but this au. BAMF!q is such a vibe and i love it when he holds his own against bond.

also also q and bond getting on immediately is so cute. in this branch we love qbond camaraderie.

Okay, so, the challenge was:

Taking the idea from the amazing Gwendoline Christie, we should be promoting ourselves and not acting like our creative endeavors are worthless. In that vein, I challenge everyone to blog their favorite of their own works, art, fic, meta, manip, doll story, whatever it may be.

I’m going to just keep this multi fandom and in no particular order of preference. Some recent, some not. All of them are on AO3. 

1. Be the Bonnie to my Clyde (00q, Rated E, AU, angst, age difference, character death) This fic marked the first time I tried writing in a non-linear style. One of my personal favourites and sometimes whenever I reread it, I catch some of them feels. Quite possibly the only fic I can say that I cried writing it.

2. Of Monsters and Beasts (Hannigram, Rated M, Dub Con, mentions of cannibalism) Personally, I feel like I peaked in the Hannibal fandom. Writing for Hannigram was like this intense, heady, kaleidoscopically awesome experience that I have not found in any of the fandoms I have joined since Hannibal. This fic was one that I think is a personal best. Of course, my writing style has changed somewhat since then, but still. There was something about writing this one that was like a strong hit of a high and I adore this one very much.

3. Home (Bagginshield, Rated G, Mpreg, canon divergence) I mean, if you have been reading my works for sometime now, then Mpreg is something you’ll definitely have seen popping up now and again. This one was one I wrote when I was away at Uni and missing home very much, thus deciding to dabble in the idea of a Consort!Bilbo. It was something soft and sweet to counter the pain I was feeling at the time.

4. One More Time (Jonmund, Rated E, PWP, fucked unconscious) Shamelessly fun sexy times. I legit had so much fun writing this, suspending my disbelief, and concocting all the various way to contort Jon. I’m usually very self-conscious when I am writing sex, but this one for me was balls to wall, let it all flow from mind to words. I think I went on a Literotica binge whilst writing this one.

5. perhaps, this (Tcherik, Various ratings on each fic, Arranged Marriage, Not Related AU) Look, I know it may be a cop out to rec a series but goddammit I am proud of this one ok? I’m so proud of this one. I put in so much work into this one; trying to put in all the hints, getting all the plot threads tied up in a satisfactory manner, slipping in all the emotions and shit... I put some part of my soul into this and I regret none of it. My favourite series of fics that I have written so far. 

6. Keep My Cool (SpiderIronFrost, Rated G, Polyamory - Threesome, domestic, fluff) This one was a super, super self-indulgent fic that still warms my heart whenever I look back on it. I forgot what prompted me to write this fic in the first place, but the unexpected reaction of people actually like the idea of Loki x Tony x Peter was just something that made me smile from ear to ear. 

7. On A Thursday Afternoon (Scorbus, Rated G, first kiss, fluff) a.k.a. THE FIC THAT THE SCORPIUS MALFOY UNDERSTUDY FOR THE WEST END RUN OF CURSED CHILD RECCED AS ONE HE READ AND LIKED. Need I say more?

8. loving you is free (Orm x Arthur, Rated E, Underage, incest) Part of the Spite Fics series. I always knew I was ready to throw hands with those idiots who can’t read the tags I put on my fics, but this series proved to me that I was more than capable of getting petty by flooding the tag with more fics in the incestuous, brother fuckers vein just to spite them. This particular one was a favourite because I had seen pictures of a young Patrick Wilson and the thought came to me that he would look good in red. 

9. To Keep (Jonmund, Rated G, Comfort, Post Show, Light Angst) I wrote this within the first hour of me watching the Series finale of GoT. Coincidentally written for @janiedean because she is awesome sauce. I was deeply unhappy and bitterly disappointed - still am, if I’m being honest - with the way the show runners handled things. This fic was written as a sort of balm for myself and others like me. The responses to this fic showed me that I was right to write it.

10. Oh my love, my darling (Valoris, Rated G, Canon Divergence AU, Pining) I wrote this while I was going through a deep heartbreak and I wanted to create something that was soft and beautiful and happy at the end. This is my favourite Valoris fic that I have written so far. I can wax lyrically about every single line of this, but I reckon I should tell you to go read this instead. Pro-tip: read it while listening to the song.

[Bonus] 11. I hold you in my heart (Tony Stark & Nebula, Rated G, Family feels, Kid Fic) Not a shippy fic and yet, still remains something I am so deeply proud to have written. The moment I saw them in the trailer, I was pumped for their interactions in Endgame. I was bummed that we only got that bit in the beginning, but you know what? That was enough to establish the fact that to me, I will love them forever. I wrote this one first out of every fic in that series because I wanted all their moments to flow into this and from this. I am so happy I wrote this one.
