im so crazy over the tragedy of everything q!bbh does being under a demon pretense even though he's a fallen angel.

do u think he just accepts the demon label because it's easier. do u think he believes it too, and catches himself in his thoughts with "oh, right. im not exactly that". and maybe he believes that he did this to himself? do u think what he did was to protect himself or someone? no matter the fall, he still has so much kindness to give and his brain just isn't wired the way a natural-born demon would be, he can't hold back instincts when time demands it, maybe that's why he fell in the first place.

and when he's finally bad, not good, it's treated like the end of the world, without empathy on why he would act out. do you think this keeps happening? the same scenario, multiple times, every timeline? he has to be used to it. so he has to take it in stride. he's good until he lashes out under extreme pressure, and suddenly he's called demon. and once again he's what heaven made him out to be. what he made himself to be, his brain would ruthlessly provide...

i don't think he wants to be that, though he hides secrets behind secrets of which neither identity is a home... but i don't think he wants to have to change, either. and i don't think that's wrong of him.

Ethnicity in JJBA

I love that Araki decided to use different ethnicities for his characters and I could talk about it all day, to be honest.

Like, it all started with George I, Dario, Jonathan and Erina, and George II and Lisa Lisa as British people and then Joseph decided he likes Italians.

Boom: half-British half-Italian Holly Joestar who married a Japanese musician = half-Japanese, quarter Italian and quarter British Jotaro Kujo.

Jolyne is half-American, quarter Japanese and one eighth Italian and British each.

Josuke: half-Japanese and half-British, just like Giorno.

The only difference is that Giorno’s living in Italy because his mother said “yo I have a thing for European men” and married an Italian who forced Giorno to say goodbye to his Japanese origin.

As for his half brothers, all we know is that their mothers were all American. But I like to think that Rikiel’s mother is/was black, just like I do for the Costello sisters.

I have to admit, I was confused at first when I saw that Gloria didn’t have dark skin or dark hair like Hermes before I realized that they could be mixed, and the same goes for the Pucci children. Plus, it’s canon that Ermes is Mexican (I’m just not sure if half- or fully) and Pucci is Italian or Italo-American, which are also little details that I really love.

One thing that will always have a special place in my heart is Avdol being Egyptian. It has never been mentioned, but I like to think that he’s also muslim. Which is really important to me since I haven’t really seen a piece of media from non-muslim parts of the world that represented muslims accordingly. They’re either shown as terrorists or don’t exist at all. So this was extremely refreshing and he’s also black AND canonically OP af?? I love.

Japanese Noriaki Kakyoin with red hair? Now that’s what I like to see. I think he’s also a part of the Has Been Bullied Club and he was a very lonely child, so being with the Crusaders must’ve been really important to him.

Not to forget our beloved Frenchman Polnareff. I love how he switches to French just to emphasize things or when he’s too frustrated to even think in English. I relate a lot to that, especially because English is my third language of six languages in total.

I’ve also seen the headcanon of Rohan possibly being Indian or having Indian ancestors and while I don’t agree with that, it has actually crossed my mind when I heard his name for the first time (cliché, I know I’m sorry). It could also be that his parents just liked the sound of the name and that’s all to it, which I think was more the case.

Little things like these give me the freedom to headcanon whatever I want.

For example, I love the thought of Holly learning English and Italian from her parents and then teaching those to Jotaro, who then taught Italian and Japanese to Jolyne.

Or a crossover where the other JoJos and GioGio meet Jodio and Hermes starts laughing her ass off because of the Spanish meaning of the word jodio.

Or, on the angsty side of things, Jotaro being bullied by older students because he’s “only” half-Japanese. Just like Giorno was bullied (although I do not remember if it actually was because of his heritage, but I think so).

Not taking Part 7 – Part 9 characters into the equation because I haven’t finished reading Steel Ball Run yet, which means I didn’t even think about JoJolion and The JoJoLands.

He's really silly because I don't really have lore for him outside the main Eternal Ashes storyline, and that's a whole can of worms, so no Lore-Dump unfortunately. BUT if u want some Design History lore I'm dropping some beneath the cut!

Okay so, Stereo was one of my first ocs for utmv. Like. I think he was designed right after Ichor (<- my first Sans oc) was. He was part of a Trio, made up of Orchid, Reset, and himself. Currently they're the three longest surviving cast members of Eternal Ashes, but Stereo has gone through very few changes.

Here are his First Reference (left) and Revised Reference (right) from about 2019 and probably 2020 respectively.

The one on the left is so funny to me because, yeag, I used to have an awful style 🫶 but Stereo's design is honestly pretty consistent over the years.

Like the rest of the designs like him, he kinda Grew Up with me as I learned to draw better and as I developed the story he was involved with. He's one of my special blorbos that (while he doesn't have a ton of lore like I usually give my ocs) is always fun for me to draw and revisit!!!

Thanks for the request, Anon!!!! Maybe I can do some more proper scene doodles for him in the near future! (I love drawing him in motion thanks to his clothes/arms)

in the Narrator Speedwagon au, does he narrate part 1 and 2 as well? Because I can only imagine how funny and confusing that could get.

For years Baron Zeppeli had the most annoying voice in his head narrating things, and then he meets Speedwagon and it’s like “YOU!!!” And it’s on sight

meanwhile Suzie Q has no idea who’s voice she’s always hearing until Speedwagon introduces himself to her after Joseph’s funeral. “Oh! The voice in my head!”

Now is not the TIME voice so please for the love of all that is holy please s h u t -

this is the real reason the Baron hits Speedwagon so hard when he explains that he wants to learn Hamon

Some of my JJBA headcanons

Jonathan

• slow dances with Erina a lot and always twirls her

• knows Japanese and Italian because George said it'll be useful in the future, no matter what career paths he and Dio chose

• adores children a lot, he has a big heart with a lot of love to give

• (modern/normal au) leaves George II in Dio's care more than the other would like when he needs to attend somewhere else

• knows that Dio cares but pretends as if he doesn't notice

Dio

• knows Japanese, Italian and Arabic thanks to George's insistence

• Italian roots from Dario's side of the family but he'd rather die than embrace the very thing that ties him to his piece-of-shit father, which is why he didn't want to learn Italian at first. He eventually learned, albeit reluctantly

•(modern au) cares a lot about the Joestars but wouldn't admit it even over his dead body

• became a renowned lawyer and wins every case

• thank his manipulative charisma and good looks for that

Joseph

• always held tea parties with Holy and ended up wearing his pink dress (he kept it of course)

• tends to think about Jonathan, mostly wondering what he had been like

• didn’t know how to feel the first time Erina or Speedwagon told him that he looked like his grandfather

• thought his sweetheart daughter was making fun of him and didn’t like him whenever she would giggle while looking at him when Suzie told her something in Italian, which made him bawl his eyes out

Suzie Q

• spoke Italian with Holy all the time so her little girl could learn it since Joseph was already in charge of English

• ended up “gossiping” about Joseph to Holy which made the girl giggle while Joseph stood there unsure what to do

Holy

• spoke English and Italian to Jotaro so he could understand his grandparents more easily whenever they visited

• understood Sadao’s wish to continue his jazz career but her heart still broke every time when Jotaro asked where his father was

Jotaro

• learned both, English and Italian from Holy so he's fluent in all three languages that he grew up with

• was bullied in elementary school because of being half italo-american -> ended up being reluctant to speak either of the other two languages until his parents sorted everything out at school and reassured him that he was fine

• always ends up getting more to eat by both Joseph and Suzie (grandparents am i right)

• Holy keeps giving him a lot of food too, her boy has to grow after all

• rarely saw his father and didn’t always have the chance to talk to him on the phone

• spoke Japanese with Jolyne when he wasn’t currently traveling around the world
