Guess what everyone, I've finally published a book! ^.^ This is one that I've been working on for a good few years now, and I'd finally felt like it could be put out there.

I feel like one thing we can take away from this kickstarter is that Cassandra Clare will never be done with the Shadowhunters universe. like literally all these new short stories come from the fact she took a six month "break" from writing shadowhunters lmao

#I do think she might move away from larger series announced years ahead of time #because I think the expectations she created for tlh was something she struggled with #like it was announced nearly a decade before it was published that's insane!! midnight heir came out in 2013 and chain of thorns in 2023!! #but I don't think we'll ever be free from her just randomly writing new books and releasing them #the eldest curses. secrets of blackthorn hall. seasons of shadowhunters. #all three short story collections #like I'm sure in a couple years there will be something new she wrote for funnies #although I imagine she'll write non shadowhunter stuff too (like sword catcher) #bella talks #the shadowhunter chronicles #tsc #cassandra clare

It's out!

After many months of work, I can now plonk the next book in Heralds of Rhimn down in front of you guys!

The previous two books have also gone through some updates now. If you've already bought them, then you should be able to download the new versions from itch.io if you'd like. Mostly, they just look prettier, but there's also some changes to the text.

You won't have to reread them to understand the new book, but it might make the lore a little more coherent, and it'll definitely make certain sideplots hit harder!

You can snag a copy from Amazon today if you want. There are 22 stories in this collection, most are fantasy but there are a few other genres (I'm really fond of the SF horror one about humans adopting an alien species). Some of the stories you might have already seen around Tumblr (like Siren Screech) but jazzed up a bit, others are brand new!

Give her a few months, and you'll find her in library systems too.

#man i am really going through it today #yesterday almost everyone i know got tickets to a festival with so many of the bands i grew up #and they'll be playing their entire albums from that era #i wanted to go so badly but couldn't justify ~$400 for one day #and flying to vegas next october esp i'm not sure where i'll be living at that time #then my book club of 3 years announced it is ending after next month bc the leader doesn't have time for meetings #also the author of a cozy mystery series i enjoy said her publisher wants her to branch out so there won't be any more books #moreover my amazon package got lost so now i might not get what i need by thansgiving #right now i'm stuck in bumper to bumper traffic trying to get home for thanksgiving #my drive is already 50% longer than it should have been #currently eating chips at a highway rest stop to cope with the horrors before i force myself back into the car #wwwy #personal

My IDW Sonic Retirement: This Garbage is Old

Just wanted to say this quick.

I am officially retired from the discussion of IDW Publishing's Sonic the Hedgehog comic books. Whether it being talking about it's positives or negatives, adding issues to my collection, making fun of it, editing dialogue in certain panels to preferred choices of words, suggesting storytelling alternatives or buying into the idea that it's supposed to be canon to the Sonic video games, there is no part of this subsection of the franchise that's the least bit fun or worth the investment anymore. Regardless of the side, it's the most hateable and exhausting thing to be (sadly) attached to the series today.

I'm not going to pretend I didn't make some good memories with those comics, but recently it hasn't been worth saying anything about, especially in the circle on Tumblr I've placed myself in, where the criticism, at this point in time, is a hyperreactive broken record falling on deaf ears. It's gotten boring. Tangle, Whisper and Lanolin are good character who deserve a happier home, away from this cesspool of printed content and everything that drearily surrounds it.

Surge, Kitsunami, Clutch, Mimic, Starline, Rough, Tumble, Jewel and Belle can get buried and forgotten. I would despise seeing any of them in games that aren't mobile exclusive.

Help there were people on twitter who thought the twitter update mods actually leaked a Wilbur project without permission. Like... they'd never intentionally ruin something. That's so silly to even think.

Please. That's not even their style. Imagine finding a Wilbur thing that hasn't formally been announced yet and sharing it and then getting him yelled at because of it.
