dont get me wrong, I love protective Steve that is very near and dear to me, but where are all the protective Eddie fics? Did everyone forget how unhinged and intimidating he was in his very first scene and throughout his time on the show? Mike and Dustin were literally scared of him. Give me Eddie, who intimidates anyone who tries to hit on Steve and lets Steve use scary metalhead bf privileges, give me Eddie, who just death stares into the soul of anyone who jokes or insults Steve in a way that actually makes his bf feel bad, give me Eddie who would pick a fight with anyone who dares bully Lucas, Dustin, Mike or Max in high school, give me Eddie who watches over Max when she's alone in her trailer and makes sure none of their weird neighbours bother her.

Beautiful Swan
Eddie Munson x reader
(Summary: When Hellfire starts a fun little game of ‘what animal does everyone look like?’ your self-esteem plummets to the floor. But your best friend and crush, Eddie, can tell. And he’s there to not only defend you, but make sure he’s around to help pick you back up <3. Tw: negative body image. Reuploaded from my ao3. 9.4K)
Tumblr media
You’d finally finished today’s session. Eddie decided the cliffhanger he’d brought up was the best place to leave it, the worst for you and the rest of Hellfire unfortunately. But that meant you guys had a few minutes where you could all just chat and hang out.
Eddie waddled up to you, nudging his shoulder against your own to get your attention, and when you looked to him, all he did was smile at you. You chuckled smally back, rubbing your shoulder against his playfully too.
You loved the fact that when Eddie enrolled you in his campaign, he pulled out the seat right next to his for you, on your very first day. Pushing it in with a genuinely charming smile as you sat, and a short bow of his head, as you thanked him. Gareth seemed to get a pencil thrown at his head right after that, although you were too busy starting at Eddie’s pretty smile he was giving just to you. So you guess he’s the one who lost his chair.
It wasn’t just his genuine and effortless charm that made you fall in love with Eddie Munson though, even before he was your best friend, although that certainly added to it. From the moment you saw Eddie, you were completely enamoured. Not just romantically, but he had such an aura around him it just made you want to be someone close to him till the end of time. You’d love, more than anything, for Eddie to ask you out. On a proper date, not just asking his friend to chill at the arcade or smoke weed in his empty trailer. Although you still enjoyed every interaction with him. Him asking you to do those as his girlfriend would be a great day! But it wasn’t going to happen.
Even though Eddie didn’t see much about himself, you tried to talk him up, as much as you could, even if sometimes it fell into the not completely platonic category, you would tell him, because he deserved to know every good thing about himself. You truly saw how amazing Eddie was. And while you two were best friends... you feared there was no way in hell, he would ever even consider thinking about you like that.
Not that you’d hold that against him! Of course not! He didn’t owe you anything, he was perfectly fine being attracted to who he was attracted to. But you sometimes just wished, you looked a little less like yourself, because now and again your gut just whispered to you all the parts of your body that made you unlovable to another person. Especially someone you admired so much, like Eddie Munson.
Eddie nudged you with his hip this time. And a laugh seeped from his bitten smirk as you shoved his arm with your hand, easily regaining his balance but using your shoulders to do so. You giggled back, offering your help by steadying his own shoulders, and letting go once he was on his feet. Eddie however, did not let go of your eyes. Still grinning, his body turned to give you his full attention. “How was today’s session princess?” His hand coyly flipped half over his grin, holding his elbow, like he was rocked with anticipation for your answer.
Your character wasn’t even royalty. And you refused to ever play the damsel in distress role, in a group filled with only boys. But Eddie still called you that pet name. And it made you smitten every damn single time. You at least presumed, it was a dnd reference.
“Was I an... adequate dungeon master?” He leant closer to you but didn’t whisper it. You sucked your lips in even though you made it clear you were smiling, just trying not to giggle, with the way Eddie made you feel. “Well... adequate may be a grand understatement, my noble dungeon master.”
Eddie’s fist skyrocketed to his chest, eyes closed as he let out a grateful sound. “You’re too kind sweet princess! For I surely would’ve been strewn in twain, if you thought any less of me.”
Eddie never gave up the silly voices, and he only peeked open one eye to see if you were amused, teeth gleaming in glee as he saw your cheeks raise as you laughed. He winked that open eye at you, before dropping his hands to his sides.
You went to swat at his chest teasingly again, but Eddie easily brushed away your hand with his own, smirking at his easy victory over you. His smirk soon transitioned into a smile, and his lips opened as if to say something else. Until Mike spoke up loudly.
“This is boring! Let’s play a game.”
Eddie didn’t even take his eyes off you before dramatically rolling them. You giggled, hiding it in your hand, but at the sound Eddie’s slumped shoulders bounced right back up, and he beamed at you proudly.
“Aw. Do the babies all need to play games to stay happy?” Gareth teased, flicking Mike’s forehead, who then bat at the band members hand like an angry cat.
“Dude shut up. You’re making us look like babies!” Dustin smally whacked Mike, Lucas agreeing. You laughed a little into Eddie, who’s shoulder was still close to yours and not going anywhere. The poor freshmen did still have to fight a little bit to get taken seriously sometimes. Although no one would debate that Eddie held the most power in this room.
“Let’s say what animal everyone looks like!” Jeff smoothly input, pivoting immediately around to his friend. “Gareth is naked mole rat.”
“A WHAT?!” All of the boys erupted into laughter, expect for Gareth who was hitting Jeff with a book. Even Eddie’s chorus rang out behind you and you loved that sound. But oh God.
A cold slimy feeling ran down your throat and seemed to climb up your spine in canon. This game would not be for you. You know you struggle with self-esteem issues, you realise that. Sometimes you felt bad even being in Eddie’s Hellfire logo shirt. It could feel too skin tight and suffocating, nothing to do with Eddie’s printing, but your own nauseating feeling like you somehow didn’t deserve to be wearing it.
You would really prefer if you guys could’ve just kept talking instead. If you could be chatting with Eddie right now, instead of standing here with literal goosebumps on your skin from the threat of this conversation. Would there be anyway you could get out of being picked at this that wouldn’t look odd? You weren’t sure.
Eddie crossed his arms, biting back a smile as he looked at his young warriors, Lucas energetically shaking Jeff and Mike who stood beside him. “Who should we do next?”
God you hoped they didn’t pick you. You knew Eddie wouldn’t be cruel, you knew he was a very empathetic guy, who from his own experiences, knew when words could hurt more than most. You loved that about him, and he loved that you could actually see how kind he could be, and not just because he had such kind eyes. Some of the things he told you in private, only you, were things only a genuinely emotionally intelligent person would know. And even though the other guys were your friends too, you dreaded the thought of them all staring at you and judging an animal from that. ...What would they even pick?
‘A slug.’ Is what popped into your mind. But you shudder, hating yourself for thinking that way. And hating yourself because you almost believe that is an animal you could resemble. It’s stupid. You have to clear the thought away immediately, focus on something, Eddie’s smile at liking this new game, just so you didn’t actually think hard about what you could argue might’ve been an intrusive thought. If you think too hard on it, you’ll bring yourself down and you can’t do that around the others, it’ll just bring them down too.
“Dustin... Dustin...” Mike pondered, now realising he got to make fun of his best friends too.
“Oh shit. Yeah, Dustin...?” Lucas piped up, swivelling more to his side as they both, all of you, stared down your cap wearing friend.
Mike continued. “Hmm... Dustin.”
“You guys better be careful.” Dustin warned, holding up a karate chop hand to show he was serious, making you and Eddie giggle into each other.
Into each other! Your giggles shifted your bodies about until Eddie’s shoulder was leaning against yours. And he stayed in that position! Normally you wouldn’t be this excited because you were physically close as friends, it wasn’t unusual, but when your heart’s already going, everything seemed bigger. You tried desperately not to move, self conscious about your own breathing now, was it rubbing Eddie the wrong way, was it loud? Nasally? And oh my god this is an uncomfy position. Did you look unnatural positioned like this? Like you just wanna touch Eddie? Which is ridiculous because you touch him all the time! You literally hugged this morning. And Eddie held your high five after he’d graced you with one, swinging your hands down and wrapping it in his own as he continued his description of the, courtesy of you, slain goblin. Swinging your hand for a few seconds so it was enough to be causal, not enough for someone to call anyone out on, but enough to be long enough to make you question. And have something to giggle over in bed that night when you thought about it.
Mike and Lucas just laughed at Dustin’s display, before the former decided. “An ostrich.”
It seemed to not be anything Dustin was expecting at least, if his whole body leaning back was enough to tell. “An ostrich? Why the shit?”
“I don’t know” Mike fake stroked his chin, Lucas following in suit as all the members now tried to see the relation in the curly haired boy. “It’s something to do with the eyes. Too beady, too... untrustworthy.”
Dustin scoffed. And there was silence, only for a few seconds in the club room, which was still rare. But everyone was busy contemplating Dustin. Until Gareth spoke calmly. “Jeff’s a blobfish.”
“What the hell is a blobfish?!” Jeff double taked, looking at his best friend incredulously.
“The ugliest animal in the world.” Everyone snickered. “We can probably find a pic of it in the library, if you’re okay breaking into the scary adults only section.”
You were part of the ensemble of laughs everyone gave, including Jeff’s cheerfully fake one before he tackled Gareth, noogieing him hard as the other boy cackled in his grip. You were glad everyone could joke around as friends like this. At first the guys were all a little nicer to you. The freshmen of the group were clearly already friends, as were Gareth and Jeff, but Eddie, even being friends with all of them, accepted you into his close circle almost immediately. You were glad when the guys realised they could just treat you like their other friends, they didn’t need to coddle you just because you were a girl. Although you were a little nervous about the rough housing around this topic.
Sure you could take some light teasing, you weren’t a baby, and you hazed the guys right back, but you had a feeling whichever animal they all said looked like you, is something that’s going to be spiralling into the back of your mind quickly. And you were a bit nervous for any disatourous consequences that could come of that.
The two band members were getting a little rougher, still laughing away, but knocking into the table now. The freshmen all eagerly cheering them on. And even though the session was over, the pieces were about to be put away from their strategic positions on the map, Eddie still raised his hand as he watched his beloved hand painted figures topple.
“Hey hey HEY!” Eddie called out, his hand spread out and everyone, you included, falling into silence under your leader, a smile on his face that got you all invested in whatever wise words he’d say. “I’m the dungeon master here!” Eddie threw both his arms wide open dramatically now, smiling fiercely at his little group. “Have you all forgotten who’s God when you’re wearing those shirts?” He scoffed at the guys who were settling down, smiling to you as you watched them all fall in line, his hair bouncing as he rolled his eyes with his whole head. It made you smile. “I’ll decide who’s what!”
Eddie dropped his arms once you all were grinning, eagerly waiting for him to cast his opinions. And firstly, Eddie turned on his heel to you. Both his feet plopped in place firmly, hands swinging behind his back as he hummed to your self, looking you up and down.
Now your heart was truly pounding. You hid the worry on your face easily, just smiling back with such a nice look that it almost was daring him to be mean to someone so loveable, and loyal in your group.
Finally Eddie resigned, with a hand extending to yours, smiling with heart as he finally got the animal he was searching for. “For y/n... a swan.”
Now that hadn’t been what you were expecting. You could feel your head flinch back from the unexpected declaration. For a moment you tried to decipher if there was anything physically about you that was truly swan like that surpassed all the, well, you. But coming up with a blank for that, you felt your heart spike in the good way you’d only felt around Eddie in recent years. A genuine smile crept onto your features and this time you didn’t hold it back.
You and Eddie were still looking right at each other, and he grinned as he saw you spark up at the name. But before you could ask, in a voice you dreadfully knew would be smaller and higher pitched than your usual but you for once didn’t care about, Mike popped up with a question of his own to your dm.
“Soooo, is that because of the ugly duckling thing, orrrr?..”
The rest of the club burst into laughter, Mike more than anyone, looking to you with pride at his jab. You guys did tease each other quite a lot, it helped solidify a lot of friendships early on. The only one who didn’t laugh was Eddie.
You’d laughed at their joke. Not in a large way, but you pointed your finger and stretched out as if to hit their shoulders as they teased, but you laughed along with your friends in their game. Even though as soon as the joke left Mike’s mouth, and the laughter started up, you felt a stabbing pain, starting from your heart, wreaking havoc all over your body. In your life you’d gotten used to laughing after a while, you knew it was easier for everyone else. And it was easier for you if you just played along and didn’t make them uncomfortable. ’Ugly duckling...’ you thought, ’couldn’t have picked better myself. My friends clearly know me so well.’ A glum cloud was moving over you.
Eddie wasn’t too thrilled though. “Hey knock that shit off.” He growled warningly at Mike, who only raised in hands in fake surrender before bringing them to his knees to laugh again. Eddie telling them off almost made it funnier to them. Well, his reactions did really.
With Eddie’s eyes on Mike and Lucas, Gareth raised his hand behind Eddie’s back quickly “Have you turned into the pretty swan yet?”
He yelped and ran as Eddie span around to whack upside his head, hiding behind Jeff with a playfully startled look on his face. Like a dog wanting to play chase.
You didn’t answer his question, and you didn’t even have to laugh as everyone’s attention was on the scene Gareth was making with Eddie. It allowed you to just sink into the background, wishing the shadowy room, a perfect set up by Eddie, the auteur of Hellfire Club, would swallow you whole so you didn’t have to grin till your cheeks hurt, and hide the redness you knew would eventually stain your eyes.
“No I meant swan! Just swan!” Eddie whipped his explanation to the room, frustrated everyone was making such a big deal about what was supposed to be his compliment to you, twisting his words like everyone else in town did. Except this time it made his heart hammer like it hadn’t since he’d accepted the fact nearly everyone hated him, because you were on the receiving end, and not him. “That’s not what I mea- shut up you guys!” His eyes found yours now, and you were just standing exactly where you were before, a neutral look plastered across your expression, minus your upper lip you sucked in.
“You have never been, and are not, an ugly duckling.”
There was a pregnant pause. Your wide eyes were held on Eddie’s soft ones, one hand pressed out to you, the other behind him where the majority of the guys were, like he was trying to forcefully separate you from the bullies, even if they did think it was all joking, and you thought he knew you wouldn’t try and distance those opinions yourself, from the way he kept looking at you. His own lips mirrored yours, the only movement in the room apart from his chest rising and falling as he breathed, sucking it in as he waited for you. He hadn’t meant to start any type of conversation like this, and you knew he didn’t like where it’d gone. With just a few moments of him watching you like that, you felt a small smile start to tug at your lips where they were previously tucked away, heartbeat softening under his gaze and words.
That was until words not spoken by Eddie, broke the graceful moment supposendly only noticed between the two of you.
“Like... so what, is y/n aging backwards, orrrr??” Dustin asked the group, snapping the silence of the room. It was quickly completely shattered as everyone praised Dustin for his comeback. You watched Eddie’s shoulders fall in a sigh, squinting his eyes just a little harder than usual.
Your stomach flipped as the boy you almost felt was a little brother to you cut you deep.
Great, even Dustin was properly joining in now. His words almost stung the most. But even as your brain thought that, your heart thought another thing ’not him too...’
“Seriously, knock it off!“ Eddie growled deeply at his members, more firm than the last time he said it. But the guys just didn’t get it. They weren’t taking him seriously, they didn’t realise they were supposed to. Dustin hadn’t even looked at Eddie, he just kept waiting for you.
And when his big goofy grin was looking to yours, and the others as he got such an uproarious reaction to his joke, Eddie being ignored, your own practice perfect smile reacted too. “Oh not you as well?” You rolled your eyes, thankful it gave you an excuse to blink any wateriness away. “Shit Dustin, I thought at least you’d be on my side?”
“I am.” Dustin nodded, feigning seriousness in a straight pose as he embellished upon his joke. “It’s therapeutic for people to not live in denial after a while.”
You laughed again, giving a small punch to his shoulder as you were half relieved that your serious words came in a light enough tone that no one could decipher them. The other part of you begged them to realise this was too much. That they were hurting you. But you knew you couldn’t handle that. If you started acting like a baby, acting out against their words like a brat who couldn’t take it, they’d all just pause and stare at you, even Eddie. None of them would know what to say and you’d have ruined everything by making it awkward. The ugliest animal thing earlier showed they were all joking as friends, but you couldn’t apparently take a joke. They were all good kids, and your friends. They couldn’t help your uncomfortable truth.
“Has it happened yet in that case?” Mike faux whispered to the other younger boys, slinking away a little with a giggle as Eddie stepped closer, chin out and teeth gritted in frustration.
You couldn’t see that though from your vantage point at the other side of the end of the table. You managed a chuckle at Mike’s add on, it was smaller than your laughs before. You didn’t really know how to react now that Eddie was sticking up for you the way he was, but even that small laugh was enough to bring Eddie physically back to you.
“Y/n you don’t have to laugh,” Eddie told you, eyes twitching downwards in sadness. Why weren’t you discouraging them? “Guys, shut the fuck up already.” He told them off, stepping closer to your side whilst he glared at them.
You felt something in your jaw twitch, a muscle or something, and you hoped Eddie didn’t hear the sound your throat made in response. You leant closer to his warmth, not touching him yet as his slightly widening nostrils made his breathing audible to you, but your jacket material brushed agaisnt his own. “It’s fine Eddie, don’t w-“
“No it’s not y/n.” Eddie quickly interrupted you, looking down at you with a softer glance, even though he’d snapped his disapproving look from the boys in under a second. He still looked disappointed at you though. Although you weren’t sure if he’d had time to control that look aimed at them, or if it was your fault.
You were stunned into silence. You almost felt ashamed, bowing your head as you looked at Eddie’s feet, noticing them shuffling nearer to you. He didn’t solidly touch you yet, but his arm and left side was slightly behind you now, closer like this. You didn’t think the guys were making that much of a big deal, especially since in this case, part of you knew they were truly joking. But the words they spoke still came out. You weren’t expecting Eddie to really defend you, not when you didn’t even try and defend yourself anymore, not even subconsciously. It felt... warm, that he did though.
In the tiniest of movements, you leant your back into his torso.
Your back only grazed against his cotton shirt, but it still felt better than before. Better than most things.
“C’mon, it’s not like she’s gonna start sprouting white feathers any time soon!” Mike retaliated against Eddie in a brave offence.
Your instinct is almost to laugh again. But Eddie’s was to drop his hands onto your shoulders, and that touch completely whirlwinded your thoughts, as well as snapping you out of that learnt behaviour. Things were different when Eddie was behind you. After a few seconds of them still laughing, Eddie began gently rubbing your shoulders. You didn’t think this was because they were still laughing at you. Eddie just naturally fell into it. It felt too good as he rubbed his hands quickly up and down the top of them, the friction buzzing beneath your skin in a way that made you feel heated in your face and chest, not in a way that made you want to itch your skin off, for how disgusting your body felt it was. Eddie was now fully behind you, but his head still leant over yours as he spoke. You felt shrouded by him, including, from your own umbrella of thoughts. “Don’t pay any attention to those shitheads y/n.” He commanded you.
You meant to nod. Really. You meant to show Eddie that you were strong. You were good and could do what he asked. But instead, with the soft weight of Eddie’s palms rolling against your skin, your body gave off more of a defeated shrug. Maybe that’s what your mind intended your body to show anyway. Even with Eddie’s support. Something you didn’t know you needed quite this much, even if you were having somewhat of a hard time properly accepting it.
That seemed to do it for Eddie. He peered down at you, leaning more to the side. You had to look away after a certain point, when his eyes grew scared, it was like he could see right into you. His voice was stable as he moved in front of you, hands still clapsed to your shoulders, and eyes full with hurt. “Stop that y/n, you’re beautiful.”
Loud enough that the club members could hear. Which was in Eddie’s plan. He just wasn’t thinking super far ahead, his chest squeezing for a second too hard, when after a small obvious pause the guys all called out in unison. “Ooooooh!”
They all started teasing him. At a similar level they were doing so to you. And you didn’t miss the sudden panic that hit Eddie’s eyes, especially as his hands dropped from your body, twiddling his own rings instead. “Well you know not beautiful I didn’t mean it like that I just m-me-meant...”
You guessed it wasn’t worth defending you at this point. Now more than ever you had to keep in control of your face, with Eddie looking at you still stumbling over his own words. His confidence quickly fading.
And while it hurt hearing him call you that initially, ’beautiful’, even though you knew something was wrong with you that that did hurt, it hurt even more when he said you weren’t.
And you knew that was stupid. That wasn’t what he meant, he just didn’t want you to think he was hitting on you inappropriately or anything (or at all). He didn’t want the guys teasing you about him having a crush. Especially when he almost definitely didn’t, so Eddie would’ve found it annoying you were sure. That bad part of your brain still took what it could grab at though. Eddie did not mean to say you were beautiful, he didn’t think that was true at all.
Probably only said it to shut up your blabbering for a second. You were that pathetic, just bringing the vibe down for everyone, so much Eddie had to lie. Good job he quickly redacted it you guessed. At least he still had his values there.
Wallowing in your own self-misery, something Eddie was very clealry not missing, he was shook out of his concern for you by Gareth sticking his tongue out at him. “C’mon Eddie, you’re never this nice to us.”
Eddie rolled his eyes back with a dramatic grunt to him. “Yeah well that’s because I actually like y/n! Y/n is actually nice.” He turned back to you, still concerned that you weren’t looking at anyone’s face, not even his as he tried to grab your attention. Only his kept being stolen back by those little pricks.
“Is it because y/n’s the only girl in the group?” Lucas asked, getting a “Yeah Eddie. Is it?” From Dustin as back up.
Eddie grit his teeth, shaking his head in frustration. Talk to you, get them to back off, get you to look at him, talk to his group. “No-“
“Well it has to be something.” Jeff suggests, earning a snicker from Gareth.
“Look, you’re all assholes.” Eddie chides. Not in a super serious way, but letting them know he was getting tired of dealing with their bull. He was trying to shut them down, at least get them to talk amongst themselves so he could have you. But as soon as his head snapped back to you, everyone’s went to Gareth, as his digital watch started to beep.
Eddie’s heart sunk, and yours fluttered in relief mixed with discomfort. Time to leave.
Everyone started packing up. Eddie quickly shoving all his things into his bag because leaving them there was a death wish for any figurines or other creations, but he didn’t want to get caught behind by everyone else’s cleaning up.
Dustin hit your arm lightly only to snicker at you when you looked up. You laughed along with the joke. Your head was red because you were bending at an angle under the table to quickly pack your bag. No other reason.
At least with the growing members, no one would notice if you didn’t talk to anyone on the short way out of school. You hoped.
All of you flooded out the theatre rooms door, the club chattering amongst themselves down the empty hallway as you tried to keep your head buried even further now, in less dim light. Although the sudden change of leaving had given you a small spark of rejuvenation, that you were riding out so as not to cry. Eddie was sticking close by you, not talking to the others either, but apart from your mouth breathing you were doing, which you had to keep up to stop from fully cracking, you tried to act normal.
And considering both of you were surrounded by the group walking to the exit doors, Eddie didn’t try and talk to you until you all dispersed there. Even though you were the only thing he looked at the entire walk.
Exiting into the Indiana sun, that was definitely about to start setting with how late the session had gone, the rest of the members started going to their methods of transportation, the parking lot pretty silent as most clubs finished at a reasonable and precise time. Unlike Hellfire.
The kids had their bikes to haul back today, and Gareth’s mom was picking him and Jeff up, so it meant Eddie had a free seat. Not that he wouldn’t be driving you, or anyone, in the back of his van anyways. “Hey, do you need a ride home?” Eddie offered, trying to act causal like he could tell you wanted, but the inside of his mind buzzing with ’Please say yes, please ride with me so we can talk.’
But you quickly shut that down, panic evident on your face, which Eddie hated to see, as you quickly spoke out “My mom’s picking me up.” Too quickly for normal.
Eddie opened his mouth again, just letting it take over what he was next to say without his mind’s involvement, a bit like you clearly were, but as he did, you both spot about the only car rolling outside.
Heart dropping disappointed, Eddie put on a small smile as he waved to your mom through her window, just as you started to run over, not even saying bye to Eddie. Not even hugging him goodbye... which he looked forward to every single day. You hugging him hello and goodbye were the only hugs, the only true physical affection, Eddie really ever got. And he didn’t get it today.
But all he could do was keep waving, not able to see if anyone was waving back thanks to the sun’s reflection on the car window, as he was forced to watch you driving away...
You hated that you had school the next day. You almost wanted to take the day off, you had the very real stomach ache as an excuse. Plus the fatigue from staying up until 2am - it was hard to sleep when all you could do was cry. Scared about what Eddie was thinking right now, knowing he’d be up. How all your friends see you. Would they see you any differently today?
But there came the cost of not showing up, and them possibly figuring out you were hurt by yesterday. Then you holding in your crying the afternoon before was pointless, because they’d all know you’re a baby who makes her friends feel bad. God you hated how anxiety made every decision feel like a crappy one.
But you decided to go to school, prove to yourself that you were brave and not stupid. Even if you still secretly planned to avoid Hellfire as much as possible. Wherever physically, and in places like shared classes with Eddie (in which being the only two to share desks previously always seemed like a blessing), and lunch with all of them, you’d just have to practice avoidance by being quieter.
Unfortunately, none of this was on the table for you.
You got out your moms car and started to walk up to the school doors, busting through the ones closest to your lockers like you did every day, only for your heart to freeze and constrict in your chest, at seeing a pained looking Eddie leaning against your locker.
He was looking every which way, peering over most students heads. And you quickly made the decision to let autopilot run free on your body so you could continue your usual walk up, before Eddie could see you just stood stiff staring at him. Not weird at all. You trudged on.
Eddie’s face lit up when he saw you, but not in the usual happy way. It was more of a relieved look this time. He waved you over though, his curled hand raised above people but not shouting for your attention, which was a bit lower profile for the metal head than usual. You managed a small smile, taking a breath you knew you’d need, as Eddie managed to give a smile that looked all to much like your own as you swanned closer. “Hey princess.” He breathed out, calmer than he looked before.
As much as that nickname made your heart beat faster, you were distracted by the fading smell of smoke on him, and a small frown twisted onto your features, as Eddie only usually smoked right before classes when he was stressed, and needed a cigarette. Oh no, you hoped he was okay.
Eddie pretty much blocked you off from the rest of the school goers, and the world, as you got to your locker. Scooting over because he was literally leaning on yours, his hand moving to rest one to the left, but his entire body leant behind you, a breath as relieved as his smile leaving his lips as he could finally look over you. “I’m so glad you’re in today.”
Your face burned, heart swelling and tingly.
“I mean, I was worried you weren’t gonna show. I was totally gonna ditch and steal your neighbours ladder to check up on you though, if you didn’t.”
You heart was palpitating now, your lips opening into a small fish like shape as you blinked furiously, charmed. Eddie would’ve climbed through your window to check up on you if you’d missed school? How long was he worrying about you? How long had he planned that?
The gesture was so sweet, too sweet to you, electricity stormed through your stomach and your legs, not sure whether to smile or bury everything down deeper because you knew negative feelings were still being held back by a very thin damn. You turned to your locker, keeping a side eye on Eddie as you spoke, organising your books. “I’m fine. I promise. Why wouldn’t I be Eddie?”
It didn’t sound like you were faking. But that’s because it didn’t come out sounding causal at all. Like you weren’t even trying to be convincing. It sounded like you truly didn’t mean any of that and the both of you knew it too well.
’Maybe he just wanted to skip school’ floated briefly through your mind.
Eddie clicked his tongue, unseen to you, running his sweaty palms against the skin and denim of his ripped black jeans. “Well, after yesterday, you seemed a bit upset. Which was fair. I know they were just messing around because you’re their friend, but the guys were being total assholes and losers.”
Fair? Eddie thought you were okay being upset? You knew it was true, realistically. Of course you were allowed to feel upset. But it just felt so... comforting, to have Eddie confirm that for you in his own way, without any prior prodding. It was just a genuine declaration of how he felt.
“O-Oh.”
That wasn’t being hidden from Eddie. The crowd of pupils and teachers was thinning, but Eddie still drew closer, a shield against all those people, the noise of outside the two of you. People could be mean to you guys, mostly him, and he hated the fact people were only mean to you because you were friends with him, so he just wanted a break from that so he could focus on you right now. His face furrowed, already fallen like before he’d even seen you, lips twisting every which way and being bitten on the inside.
“W- uhh, thank you. That’s really nice of you... But yeah, um, I’m fine. No need to worry, honest!”
“Are you being honest though?”
Eddie leant closer and his breath on the nape of your neck drew a loud shudder of a gasp. You turned around quickly, only to be even more intimated at his determined look, now you two were front to front. Your back closed your locker for you, bag dead by your shoes.
“Uhhhh I-“
Eddie put his thumb to your lips, his hand following after and oh so gently cupping your chin. You couldn’t even breathe at this point, too scared to, and Eddie had this geuinine look in his eyes, emotions full in the dark brown, that you didn’t know what to do with. “Y/n please talk to me. You’re my best friend, right? I know you were lying yesterday when you laughed with the guys and I don’t think...” Eddie struggled when he didn’t let his heart run with the words, tongue flicking against his lips as it usually did, while his thumb still graced yours. “I don’t think they were playing along with me.”
In Eddie’s head it made sense. But it had yet to be translated to you. Instead, it was taken as wrong. “Oh? And what game were you playing?” You spoke, lightly unable to avoid brushing against his warm finger.
“No I’m not playing a game I just mean...” Eddie sighed, his brown puppy eyes so sad, as they held yours. Everyone had gone to class now, no one bothering to remind you two of the last bell. “I mean the guys and I... no fuck, hold on.” Eddie inhaled through his teeth, his hand finally leaving your face, which at least allowed you to breathe, but made you feel solemn and hollow at the same time.
Eddie was level with you. Looking like the normal boy you knew he was, who could feel unsure, and scared, and nervous. His ringed hands wrung together, swearing to himself as he tried to hold your eyes in his, desperate for you to stay right now. “I think- I mean I know, I see you differently than them...”
Eddie’s hand braced his chest as he said that, staying splayed there over his white Hellfire shirt. Meanwhile you were overlooking your flustered crush, rolling your shoulders as you exhaled unsurely through your nose. It made you nervous having a one on one conversation with Eddie that was so serious. No distractions. And seeing him so flustered and open was a vulnerable side you’d seen before, but not when you both felt this exposed, with something you were so hesitant to say. You bit your lip, only realising for a split second after that Eddie’s thumb had been on there, but you pushed that thought aside for later as you watched his tongue almost reaching the top of his nose again, sticking out like that nervously. About as on the spot as you felt.
“So... you see me as a swan and they see me as the ugly duckling?” You asked unsure, flinching back and feeling bad when Eddie winced harshly at your words. Shaking his head vigorously. Voice cracking a little through the first few words.
“No! Fuck no, that’s not. That’s not even true what they said y/n! They were just trying to find a joke and they locked onto it, they don’t think anyone looks like what they said, Jesus H Christ none of us look like animals. Least of all you y/n!”
You blinked away the last sentence, pinning it again for later, like your brain couldn’t be split between conflicting emotions, but unfortunately was picking the negative ones to experience now. The negative ones to experience with Eddie, and the positive ones for when you were alone. Christ couldn’t you be positive and happy when you were around people you loved instead today? “Look I’m not mad at them okay Eddie?” You spoke up. “I don’t want you to feel like you have to yell at them or something for me. I mean I really appreciate what you did for me yesterday, it made me feel nice but-“
“What? I’m not mad. Y/n-“ Eddie strode close and took your hands softly in his, flipping them over and grazing them in his own calloused touch, holding them warmly. “I’m not even trying to talk about them right now. They were being little dicks yesterday but they were just messing around. You know I know you’re beautiful don’t you? I mean, I do have eyes.” He chuckled softly only on that last sentence. The first and only time he hadn’t seemed serious apart from when he finally saw you. Almost like you relaxed him, made him feel good, better.
But now your brain was pushing away the positivity, that was becoming more in volume than the negativity, on purpose. Because it stuck onto one part that it could warp, and stab into you like a knife.
“Look Eddie I really appreciate you, and you know I love you.” You squeezed his hands softly, and Eddie looked like he was melting at your touch. His cheeks seemed softer, slightly pinker as they raised in an honest to god smile, medium sized, but perfect to the situation. And you both took a step closer to the other, not knowing each other would do the same. Still a parting, but wrists resting on your own stomachs. “But you don’t have to say that, I know yesterday you got kinda screwed over and tried to take it back and it’s fine. I don’t want you to feel bad or-“
“Y/n stop!!” Eddie snapped, shocking you a little as you jumped. Eddie held your hands closer in apology, pulling your wrists so near your hands were in his stomach now. “I mean Jesus Christ! Y/n. You are beautiful. I meant it yesterday and I mean it now. And I’ve always known it. Maybe I should’ve said it more but...” Eddie used one conjoined hand to shift back his curls in his face, huffing out quickly. You could feel how hot his poor forehead was becoming as he moved so.
“You are beautiful. You’re gorgeous.” His brown eyes looked deeply into yours, open, and face contorted in a mixture of confusion, but being pure, and fully unendingly loving, as he held you close. Hands smoothing down your shoulders, shaking as they tried to keep you from running, tried to soothe you into his words. Like a charm roll a bard would throw for a restless dragon.
“You’re the most beautiful person I’ve ever been graced enough to lay my fucking eyes on.” His tongue darted out, eyes blinking sheepishly as he kept looking right at you. “Why don’t you see that, all the time?” Pain and confusion. That’s what was in his voice. Love and fear mixed into all his touches, hands smoothing over your back and shoulder blades in his need to fidget and be touching you, someone he always wanted to never not be touching, ever since the moment you first lit up when talking to him. That’s the only thing he ever saw when he looked at you, and he just couldn’t fathom a world where you somehow didn’t see the exact same thing, staring blatantly obviously back.
“Because I’m not!” You wriggled harshly out of his grip, the genuine hurt in Eddie’s eyes, only fuelling the burst of passion you were having. “I’m not anything! I’m not anything good, Eddie!” You were yelling, no one had seen you yell before, least of all Eddie. And Eddie teetered on nervous feet, worried about reaching out for you, but scared of what you’d do if he didn’t ground you.
Your breath felt ragged, head pounding. “I look at myself, I think about myself, and all I can feel, is how ugly, and disgusting I am.”
Pure and simple shock was spread across Eddie’s features. The kind of disappointed shock where he couldn’t understand how, or why you’d ever felt this way. Eddie was heartbroken.
“Whenever I remember this body I’m in, I want to cry because I feel like nothing good is deserved for someone as fucked up as this. I feel sick in my own skin. Every cell of me feels wrong, and that’s how I live. Terrified that someone’s going to look at me, someone who’s seen me a thousand times, and suddenly see this me that’s just a monster when you look again.” Your hand was to your heart, and you were crying now. Tears itching that disgusting skin people should wash their hands after touching. God you felt awful getting it out there, this was bullshit.
Anger was about to start seeping into Eddie too, just a little, grief and heartbreak was overtaking him right now. “Is this to do with what the guys said?”
You were hyperventilating now. Very aware of breaking down in front of your crush, and unable to breathe because you were crying so hard. Terror striking you from speaking the truth, because your best friend would see you that way now. Upon his words, a gasp bubbles through the saliva in your throat, but before you could answer Eddie finshed.
“I’m going to knock their teeth in.” Eddie felt hot tears in his eyes. He’d let you go home thinking about this. You were hurting. “I don’t care that they’re stupid, I’m going to tell them all that-“
“No!” You finally got close to Eddie again, your hands the only strong part of either of you as you lightly gripped his forearm. “No it’s not their fault.” You knew Eddie would only drag them somewhere and knock their heads together, but you didn’t want him guilting your friends, you didn’t want them hurt. You didn’t want them to know either. “It’s not them. I’ve always felt like this.”
Eddie felt lost. Eddie was crushed. His whole face collapsing to show it. His tears dripped onto his shirt, defeated by them. The white staining in the hollow hallway as he just looked at you, about as broken as you feel. ”But why?”
Eddie was genuinely confused. And it made your heart skip. To the point it felt so good, it was painful.
This whole conversation was painful. Your head dropped as your tears slunk to the floor, Eddie gripping your wrists in return, before pulling you warmly into a hug. Eddie’s embrace so tight, so scared to break you but needing you to stay, safe, with him, so you wouldn’t. Eddie would never let you break. He promised to himself now to always pick up your pieces before you could fully fall apart. Eddie would never let that happen, not on his watch. Not when you were under his oath. He sniffed, licking up his tears as he nuzzled his cheek into your head. Dreaded mumbles falling from his lips with small cries. Even his hips pressed to yours, his feet entangling thoughtfully, so you couldn’t fall, or retreat, just hugging you.
“I just. I don’t know.” You sobbed once. “I’m sorry.”
“Ssh. Don’t you dare apologise.” Eddie stroked the wetness away from your head, into his hand. “I’ll kick your ass.” He kisses your head instead, heart delighting, but not enough to give a smile, as you laughed at that. Hearing your small purr of a giggle was enough to tell himself to keep going, that he was doing an alright job.
“Sorry.”
Eddie pressed a hard kiss into your temple, growling lightly at you. Clearly still teasing you though. For once you didn’t have a single fear Eddie was mad at you. You could just breathe out laughs, even as you were crying. “I don’t know. Don’t you see that? See that... see an ugly duckling, in me?” You asked genuinely. For once your brain didn’t give you a million versions of the future, you just felt blank as you waited for his answer. It was peaceful.
As Eddie thought, he grazed against your head. Lips nibbling your skin, and your hair caught there, laughing lightly back when he felt another round of your chuckles, vibrating through his own chest, his warm hand smoothing down your back. He loved that feeling. He always wanted to make you laugh, but now he resolved to do so as he had your chest pressed against him, all the time. “I’ve... since the first moment I saw you, I’ve always thought you were jaw-droppingly stunning.” He revealed.
You felt conflicted, your heart pulled, brain just... not able to picture him seeing you like that. But you knew he wasn’t finished, and he held you impossibly closer, always being able to tell what you were feeling, even if it could be irritatingly accurate.
“But... the more I fell in love with you, the more and more I just kept seeing you as someone so perfect, it felt like the sun lit up her hair through every window on purpose. To shine down on her specifically. That the weather was made that day, so she could wear an outfit that made your legs, and stomach, and arms, and hands, look so desirable to hold. Someone who’s smile literally made the people around her smile for the rest of their entire day, and how that kinda magic could only be possible from you. That every day I’d see a different person spin around and do a double take at you with that look on their face, that look because they know they’ve just walked past the most beautiful girl in the entire world, and they’ll never get that chance again to brush past your shoulder, and meet-cute you, ever. And that I’m the luckiest man on this earth, because somehow, through your own kindness, and through the wind and the sun and our peers and the earth beneath our feet and stardust that made everything, I was lucky enough to be someone, who gets to see someone so beautiful, every single day.”
Eddie breathed out. His brown eyes warm in yours. His touch craving. His body glowing after all that.
And there were no words. A white sheet in your mind and a white glow over your body. You only knew you felt light, you felt... right. And your heart was full. And the thing that kept circling over and over in your mind, finally spoke out.
“You love me?”
Eddie’s breath collapsed in his laugh. Full and hearty, and the tears in his eyes were now spilt because of how they crinkled, smile spreading to his cheeks and his warm palms cupped your own cheeks, like he was so grateful to be able to hold you safe like this, like he was so happy to have your face beating in his hands. “Of course I do. I love you y/n. I’m madly in love with you! I love you so much it’s consumed every part of me and it’s the best thing that’s ever happened to me. I love you more than fucking anything! I love you more than anything y/n!”
“I love you too!” The air tasted different when you gasped, Eddie’s heart swelling was something you could see throughout his entire body, as his chest rose and his feet curled, and his eyes warmed, and his lips opened in such a smile. You took Eddie’s face in your own hands and everything fit together perfectly. He was so warm, so full of life, so Eddie, and so full of love for you. Eddie was the love of your life, and you could hold his tear ridden smile in your hands.
Eddie leant in close, using his hands to pull you further as his open lips spread, and your eyes fluttered stickily shut as you just smiled leaning in. Finally having his full, wet lips slotting against yours, and feeling each other’s smiles into the kiss, as you felt him kiss you like it was the best memory he’d ever make.
He pulled you in closer, almost tripping over your own feet as his hands on your cheek coerced you, but only one foot slipping, as you kissed him deeper. Lovingly moulding his lower lip that wanted to live in your mouth, and feeling his thick upper one kiss you back with so much deep adoration. Affection and love oozing out of Eddie as he kissed you happily. Sweet sounds coming from the both of you as your hands curled in his dark hair by his ears, and his cradled your nape and your lower back. Cheeks brushing and noses nuzzling, as you sweetly tasted each other, kissing like it was the only thing that was right in this world.
Finally, after stopping a little, and feeling Eddie’s nose nuzzle and brush at you in return, you pulled back. Eddie having literally stolen your breath away. You both backed up just an inch, just enough to see each other, and you were both beaming smiles through the warm sun rays. Eddie leant in to kiss you again, this time a small peck that you reciprocated, both his lips sweetly pressing against yours, and you could just tell they were Eddie Munson’s lips.
A noise of deep happiness and satisfaction finally broke the air and Eddie couldn’t help but nose at your cheek playfully again. “That was even better than I imagined.” He fondly grinned.
You tilted your head, wrapping both your arms around Eddie’s neck, as you felt a different energy, making a home in your new home. “You imagined kissing me before?”
Eddie went momentarily bright red. Before he remembered it was you he was with, and it was okay to be this vulnerable because you loved him too. “‘F course!” He sang. “Although minus the crying.”
You burst into laughter, Eddie following along as you rubbed at your drying tears, stomach fluttering as Eddie’s calloused fingers went to softly swipe at your cheekbones instead, the warm metal of his rings from how clammy his hands were, actually feeling nice as he brushed them away, “Pretty princess...” Getting at his own tears with his sleeve before you could return the favour. “Yeah.” He took both your cheeks in his hands again, before he leaned in to kiss you once more. Then your two red cheeks, and he leaned back and smiled, then both your eyes, still smiling, as he just had to look at you again “Can’t have my gorgeous girl crying. Never.”
Somehow, that didn’t start it again. Your lip wobbled but no tears came, only as Eddie kissed your nose fondly, was your movement to hold his face back, squeezing those adorable cheeks as you kissed all over his face. Every single inch got covered in your loving kisses, and feeling Eddie’s excited giggles fanning so close on your skin just made you kiss his lips over, and over, and over, and Eddie kiss yours, over, and over again. Your “I love you Eddie”’s being caught in between each and every kiss. Only stopping when Eddie pulled back to look at you, so happy in his hand, so he could smile at the sight of you. “My beautiful y/n.”
You two both skipped school that day eventually anyways. Only this time, as you walked hand in loveable hand down the empty hallways, not looking at each other only and purely because you were too busy kissing to have your eyes open, you were leaving to spend your first moments together as a couple.

I’m with the Band (Eddie Munson one shots)
Tumblr media
Hot Mess
Summary: Eddie is on stage performing when he sees a guy getting handsy with you. A fight ensues and then he takes you backstage for some fun. ⚠️explicit sexual content. 18+ minors DNI⚠️
*******
You were front row at Eddie's concert watching him perform. God, he took your breath away.
Every note he sang. Every bit of rasp in his voice. The way he plays his guitar so effortlessly.
Perfection.
Normally you sit backstage or watch from the side but you had missed seeing him from this angle. Seeing the crowd go wild for him. Feeling the excitement all around you.
People loved him. He really had a gift.
He locks eyes with you and gives you a wink as you cheer along with the crowd. He's so beautiful.
His tight leather pants clinging to his body. His shirt was lost long ago. You could see the sweat glistening on his tatted up chest every time the lights hit him.
He sticks the middle finger up proudly with a wild grin on his face. His curly hair is in disarray from his constant head banging.
His eyeliner is smudged from his sweat. He looks a mess. The hottest mess I’ve ever seen.
You suddenly feel a hand grab your ass and spin around to see a tall guy grinning at you.
You give him a shove and a quick fuck you and spin back around.
The guy apparently couldn't take a hint because you feel his hands on you again. This time even tighter.
"What's wrong beautiful? Don't you wanna have some fun?"
You feel yourself being pressed back against him as the crowd begins to jump around wildly.
"Stop touching me!" you shout at the guy and he just smirks as he leans in closer. You can smell the alcohol drifting off of him.
"Why don't we take this somewhere else?" the guy slurs, grabbing your arm tightly.
You try to pull away as you look towards the stage. Eddie is on his knees playing an intricate guitar solo.
Fuck.
You shout but you know he can't hear you over the screaming of the fans. The guy yanks you roughly and you kick behind you.
His grip loosens momentarily and you bolt for the stage. You scream Eddie's name and his eye catches yours just before you feel the guy grip you around the waist, pulling you back.
You're lost in the sea of people as he pulls you deeper into the crowd.
Then you see him.
His brown curls bouncing wildly as he pushes his way through the mob of people. His eyes are dark. His normal playful expression replaced with anger.
Before you know what's happening you're tossed to the side and Eddie is swinging.
He hits the guy hard in the jaw and the guy stumbles but doesn't fall. He swings at Eddie catching him in the side of his lip.
Eddie spits blood out onto the floor before he looks back at you and winks. Blood smears across his teeth as he gives you a wild smile.
Oh, fuck.
He swings again and connects with the guy's nose this time. The crowd is going insane, forming a loose circle around them but no one steps in.
You see fists flying and Eddie takes a punch to the gut. You run over as he doubles over and he lifts up and meets your eyes.
"Baby?!" you try to shout over the noise. He grins wildly before gripping your chin tightly. He pulls your lips to his and you taste blood before he pulls away. He lightly pushes you back before he tackles the dude to the ground.
You hear expletives pouring from his lips as his aggression takes over. You see blood on the guy's face and he throws his hands up in surrender. Eddie stands up leaving the guy on the ground.
Security arrives and Eddie nods at them to take the guy away. You see him shake his entire body out, trying to release some of the adrenaline pumping through his veins.
You quickly take his hand and he pulls you close. He has a busted lip and a cut above his eyebrow. Blood trickling down his beautiful face. You run your finger across it, wiping it away softly.
"Are you okay?" he pants.
You nod quickly.
"Are you okay?" you whisper as you carefully touch the split on his lip.
"Never better, sweetheart." he grins. He turns around and squats down, motioning for you to get on his back.
You giggle and jump on as he makes his way back towards the front. The crowd clears a path for him and he carries you to the steps of the stage.
"After the show. You're mine." he growls, kissing you fiercely before running back onstage.
"I'm back, fuckers!" he yells and the crowd cheers louder than you've ever heard.
Eddie played the rest of the show like nothing happened. His energy even more rambunctious than before. His eyes kept looking to you, making sure you were still where he had left you.
You watched as the band did their last song of the night. And then there he was. Running off the stage. A bloody, sweaty mess.
He quickly scooped you up and tossed you over his shoulder. He makes a beeline for the dressing room and kicks the door shut behind him. As soon as he places you on the ground his lips are on yours.
His hands grip your waist as he backs you into the wall. His mouth tastes metallic from the blood as his tongue swirls wildly with yours.
"Are you.. sure.. you're okay?" you pant in between kisses.
"Mm.. I'll be better once I'm inside you." he mumbles against your lips causing your pussy to throb.
He hooks his hands under your thighs and lifts you up as he presses you against the wall. You tangle your hands in his unruly hair.
He moves to kiss your neck as he speaks. "I need you, baby. Fuck, I need you." he moans before biting down against your shoulder causing you to gasp.
He spins around carrying you to the couch. He lays you down and pushes your dress up above your hips quickly. You reach down, sliding your panties off as he works his way out of his pants.
"You ready, sweetheart?"
You nod as he settles himself in between your legs. He lifts one of your legs hooking it around his waist as he lines himself up.
He takes his tip running it up and down your slit a few times.
"You're fucking soaked." he moans.
"You know I get turned on watching you fight." you breathe as he rubs his tip against your clit.
"Yeah? You like seeing me mad?" he chuckles as he continues to tease you. He enters one inch inside of you and you feel the slight stretch.
"More." you whine.
"You want more baby?" he smirks as he pulls back out and slides in two inches.
"Yes." you try to lift your hips and he smacks your thigh roughly.
"Beg." he burns as his dark eyes bore into yours.
"Please, Eddie."
"Please what?"
"Please fuck me." you plead.
"You want me to fuck that pussy?" he enters you a little more.
"Yes.. I need you, Eddie. I need you inside me." you whimper and he slams into you causing you to cry out.
He grips your thigh tightly as he pumps in and out wildly. You try to cover your mouth as your moans grow louder, knowing everyone can hear you outside.
"You can scream, baby. It's okay." he groans as he continues to thrust forcefully. You let out another cry as he gives you an extra hard thrust.
His hand comes down and grips your throat tightly causing your eyelids to flutter.
"You gonna be a good girl and cum for me?" he hisses as he pounds into you.
You nod and he tightens his grip a little more immediately getting a moan from you.
"Mmm.. you love it like this, don't you?" he hums as he continues ramming into your pussy.
"Yes." you squeak and he grins.
"Touch yourself baby." he says deeply and you reach down and slowly begin rubbing your clit.
"You're gonna cum when I say." he orders, his eyes locked on yours.
You nod again as you feel yourself getting closer and closer.
"Eddie..."
"Not yet." he says sternly.
Your legs begin to shake as he slams into you. You slow down your fingers trying to stop your orgasm from coming so quickly.
"E-Eddie..." you whimper as your legs begin to shake even more.
"Not. Yet." he says as he watches you carefully.
His cock glides in and out at an insane pace.
"Listen baby, fuck.. you hear how wet you are?" Eddie groans deeply as your back begins to arch.
"Eddie... please!" you cry and he chuckles deeply as your eyes fill with tears.
He waits until you feel like you're going to explode, pushing your body to its absolute limit.
"P-please." you barely manage the word.
"Cum." he demands and your body comes undone. Your back arches completely off the couch as you spasm around his cock again and again. Whimpers and cries fall from your lips.
"Fuck.. I love those sounds." Eddie mumbles watching your body jerk beneath him.
You feel almost lightheaded as he releases your throat from his grasp. You close your eyes as your head falls back against the couch.
Eddie leans down pressing his body against yours.
He slows down his thrusts, entering you deep each time. You feel his firm hand come beneath your head lifting it up so you're looking at him.
His eyes meet yours and he kisses you tenderly.
"I love you." he whispers as you feel him deep inside. Your body is tingling all over as he kisses you again.
"I love you." you breathe out.
"You know I'll always protect you." he says seriously.
You nod as you grip him tightly. You press your lips to his, lifting your hips to meet his thrusts. He feels so close. His tongue slips in your mouth and he kisses you passionately.
You move with him, your bodies practically melding together. You hold him close, your nails dig into his back as he keeps himself buried deep inside of you.
You cross your legs around his back pulling him in as close as possible as your head falls back. His lips meet your neck and begin sucking marks. He kisses up to your ear.
"I want you to cum with me, y/n." he whispers in your ear. You feel your second orgasm approaching already, his words bringing you closer. His strokes are deep and slow... passionate.. loving.
"Eddie.. Eddie, I'm so close.." you moan and he picks up his speed just a bit.
"Me too, baby. Me too." he hums.
He rocks into you strongly. His lips find yours once again and he swallows your moans as you reach your peak once again.
You feel Eddie's cock twitch as you cum together. He moans into your mouth as you claw at his back. Your body shudders against his as you soak his cock once again.
Eddie pulls away leaving your lips feeling lonely. You grip his hair and pull him back to you and you feel him smile into your kiss.
"I love you, Eddie Munson." you say against his lips.
"I love you, y/n." he whispers bringing his sweet lips back to yours.

Summary; Upset after hearing about Eddie's latest date, you decide to go to a party and let loose just for one night.
Warnings; protective Eddie. Tipsy reader, drinking.
18+ blog. Minors dni.
Read part two here
I don't give anyone permission to copy, reuse or repost my work.
❤️
It shouldn't have bothered you so much. Eddie has been going on dates a lot more than usual thanks to coaching from Steve Harrington.
So it shouldn't have come as a surprise that he had another date with a new girl. This one was called Penny.
If you had to hear about his antics one more time you were sure that Eddie would see right through your fake smile.
It's not like you didn't want Eddie to be happy. Of course you did, it's just crushing on a guy who has zero interest in you and seeing him date beautiful women after beautiful women was a bummer.
After hearing about this date with Penny and no doubt another lady at some point you had made the decision to go to a party tonight.
Parties weren't your thing at all but you were eager to let loose just for one night and forget your unrequited crush for a little while.
By the time you even got to the party, you were a little buzzed. Steve had driven you along with Robin and you and her had already had two beers.
The party was already in full swing once you got there and it took everything for you not to leave at once.
Robin and Steve immediately calmed you down and you nursed a beer, chatting with cute guys and finding yourself growing a little bit more tipsy as the night went on.
It felt like everyone was at the party, all wanting to let loose, hooking up, dancing, laughing and determined to have a good time.
You danced with Robin qnd Steve and eventually, a guy called Eric. He was handsome with black hair and brown eyes.
They aren't Eddie's eyes a traitor voice says in your head and you shake it away.
You needed to forget about your feelings for Eddie and move on.
❤️
Eddie had stopped at yours with pizza in hand. When you didn't answer, it concerned him. What was going on? Were you sick?
Another date had gone by and there was still this empty feeling inside of him. They were fun at first, fooling around and shit but it was growing old fast.
Steve had took Eddie under his wing, a wingman of sorts and Eddie really didn't mind. He liked Steve, which years ago he would have thought to be impossible.
Turns out Dustin was right when he told him Steve was a pretty cool dude.
His thoughts come back around to you and he decides to make a quick drop-off at a party where some guys wanted weed.
It was quick and easy money and he would be out of there in no time to come and check on you.
Of course, when he gets there he doesn't expect you to be there. Parties weren't your thing at all.
Steve comes up to him and pats his shoulder.
"Oh hey man, yn is here by the way" he points over where you are.
He sees you surrounded by some preppy douchebags, eyes sparkling and a beer in your hand as you dance with one of the guys, he's stunned.
The dude is flirting heavily with you and your arms wrap around his neck pulling him closer, he kisses you and Eddie stills.
You giggle and the guy pulls you close to him, his hands run all your body and down to your backside giving it a squeeze.
He doesn't notice you move away, putting space between you and the guy, Eddie doesn't notice much of anything really, he sees red.
He just reacts and yanks him away from you.
"Dude what the fuck?" up close Eddie recognises Eric Harris, he was a complete douche in high school and not much has changed as far as he could tell.
"Watch your hand's asshole" he seethes trying to calm down but he's not very successful.
"Eddie! You grin and hug him before things get heated and his anger melts away at your big grin.
"Hey, princess. You okay?" you nod and his heart rate spikes as you rest your head on his chest and cuddle into him.
"I had three beers, Eddie! Three!" you tell him sounding proud and he holds you upright as you are slightly unsteady on your feet.
"Let's get you home sweetheart" he ignores Eric's groan of disappointment and you beam.
"Kay, my head feels a little fuzzy anyway" you wave to Eric who plants a kiss on your cheek.
"I'll be seeing you around babe" he winks at you and Eddie's mood darkens though he isn't sure why.
"He's cute isn't he?" you sigh as you head outside and the chilly air hits you. It instantly makes you shiver and Eddie places his jacket around you.
"Thank you" You snuggle into it feeling comforted by the familiar scent, it feels like home.
On the way to Eddie's, you chat his ear off about the party, and sing along to the radio and that makes Eddie smile.
You were adorable, tipsy yes but adorable.
He helps you inside and to the bed. You're quiet for a few moments as you settle on the bed.
He fetches you a big glass of water and makes sure you drink it all before sleeping.
You chat to him happily but somewhere along the way your mood changes. You sigh and stare at him with a little pout on your face.
"He's so cute" Eddie is sure you are talking about Eric and that same flash of irritation and tension spikes inside him.
"Eric's a douchebag. You can do so much better" you yawn sleepily.
"Not Eric! I meant Eddie" he freezes and he feels his heart hammer in his chest.
"What?" you cuddle up into his pillow.
"I wish he liked me" See this confused Eddie even more.
"What are you talking about? I adore you" you mumble something then let out a gentle snore as you fall asleep.
Ever so gently he places the blankets over you and watches you just for a second because you look so sweet, curled up on his pillow with a dreamy smile on your face.
His heart skips a beat and there's a feeling inside of him that he can't explain as he looks at you.
If he had to put a finger on it and say what the feeling was?
It felt like home.

Gareth has been watching Steve Harrington.
It was almost surreal the way he fell from the hierarchy everyone put so much importance on. It was like he ruled the school, and as soon as someone stepped up to challenge it, he gave it up like he didn’t want it in the first place. Gareth begins to wonder if he chose it, or if it was thrust upon him.
He finds out how right he was when Eddie gets accused of murder.
He’d been at home watching the news with his mom when Eddie’s face popped up on the screen. “Oh shit,” “Gareth!” His mother scolded. “Oh- Sorry mom, that’s Eddie!” He said, exasperated and a little nervous. He knew Eddie was strange, but what the hell did he do to get accused of murdering a cheerleader? “Your friend Eddie? He’s a sweet boy, he couldn't do that.” His mother soothed. And she was right, but for the next five days Eddie was radio silent while the earth split apart and ash rained from the sky.
He paced every day by the phone waiting for Eddie to call and tell him something. Anything. Waiting for Wayne to call him and tell him the funeral date, or the court date to testify against the charges but it never came. Instead, he got a call from a guy sounding right around his age, and when he listened closer the voice identified itself as one Steve Harrington, who’d gotten his number off Dustin Henderson, one of Eddie’s “Sheep.”
Eddie was in the hospital, he wasn’t okay, but he was alive, and as much as Gareth wanted to see Eddie, ask him what the hell happened, and slap him silly, he couldn’t help the morbid curiosity that came with Steve Harrington being mixed up in all of this. Was he the one who killed Chrissy? No. No way. Steve can’t even throw a punch, he’s seen him try.
He got to the hospital, seeing Steve sitting in the lobby, head in his hands and a bright red ring around his neck. There was a girl next to him, rubbing his back, and when Gareth looked closer, he discovered that it was Robin from band. He snorted, he didn’t think Steve was anywhere near Robin’s type but… Well, he’s been wrong before.
Dustin was sitting across from them, looking a bit more put together, and he wondered how long they’d been sitting in the lobby, and if Steve had gone home. Dustin’s eyes meet his, and he waves him over. “Hey, Gareth. Uh. I had Steve call you. I figured you’d want to see Eddie?” He posed it as if he was unsure, the more kid looked exhausted and wondered what possibly could have happened between the murder acquisition and the earthquake that got this odd group of people strung together. The three here seemed comfortable with each other, and the morbid curiosity returned. What was King Steve doing with these people? Not that there was anything wrong with them, it was just so… Different. Gareth realizes he’d been just kind of idling, so he shook himself from his thoughts, “Uhm, yeah. Is he okay? What happened?” He stuttered out nervously. The two boys made eye contact from their adjacent  plastic chairs, seemingly having a silent conversation.
Steve gave him a sharp nod before standing, “Dust, stay here with Robs. Wayne should be here soon and you can bring him back to Eddie’s room, kay? Rob, feel free to go to Max or Eddie’s room.” He looked at Gareth, studying him, before waving a hand as to say “follow me.”
Gareth followed hesitantly, looking over his shoulder at Robin and Dustin who were watching them right back. Steve led them silently to a room before stopping at the door. “Look, Gareth. We don't…  We don’t know each other and what I’m about to tell you is going to be hard to swallow, but per the request of Eddie, I will explain, please.” Steve’s voice wavered and broke before he continued. “Please, don’t ask any questions until I’m done and I am begging you, don’t share this with anyone who doesn't enter this room, okay?” Gareth swallowed thickly, no matter what, Steve was intimidating, so he nodded, and listened as the other boy launched into the story. Starting with little Will Byers, who came back from the dead.
By the end of it, Gareth was a little more than shell shocked, and the exhausted look on Steve’s face told him that he didn’t really have a choice except to believe him, somehow it made sense. He uttered a simple, “Okay.” And that was that.
“Eddie’s in rough shape but he is okay, just so you know. I’ll… Wait out here til you guys are done…” Steve said before pushing the door open for him. “Gareth, my main man. Thanks for briefing him, Stevie.” Eddie’s voice came out croaking and dry, and out of the corner of his eye he could see a faint blush spreading across Steve’s face at the nickname. Huh. The door shut, “Stevie?”
“Oh, shut up Gareth. That’s what you’re focused on? I'm in a hospital bed.”
Gareth rolled his eyes, “You’re sitting up and calling King Steve ‘Stevie.” He scoffed, to which Eddie rolled his eyes. “He’s… Not that bad anymore, in fact he might be… Really, really good.” The soft voice and the fond look on Eddie’s face made Gareth squeal. But y’know, a manly squeal. “EDDIE OH  MY GOD.” Eddie ducked his head, they both flinched at the door swinging open. “What’s wrong? I heard screaming. Is everything okay?” Steve rambled out, softening when he realized everything was still in order. “S-sorry, I’ll” He stuttered out, shoving his thumb back towards the door. “Stevie, c’mere sweetheart.” Eddie said, patting the side of his bed, scooching over to make room for him.
Steve sat, grabbing Eddie’s hand, eyes flicking over to Gareths occasionally. “It’s okay, Stevie. He’s my best friend, he knows. Well, not about… He knows I like boys, kay?” Eddie raises their clasped hands, planting a soft kiss on Steve’s knuckles. He turns to Gareth, “It’s new. But… It’s good. Really good.” Gareth smiled at this, before fake gagging at the cuteness, they were going to be insufferable weren’t they?
It wasn’t until a few months later that Gareth really found out the backstory behind King Steve. It was a more depressing story than he’d thought it would be.
They’d been playing DnD in Steve’s basement, after he’d allowed them to set up shop there every week for their campaigns claiming “No one ever uses it anyways,” with a shrug. There was a twinkle of something sad in Steve’s eye but he didn’t pay much attention to it. It wasn’t until later in the game that it all came to a front.
Eddie introduced a new NPC, quite obviously based on Steve, and most of them took it well. They were happy for the two and their new found love, but Eric, apparently, had a grudge stronger than a demogorgon.
“Knight Steviengton? Seriously? That lumps not a Knight. What’s he ever done?” Eric scoffed, Eddie began to reply before Eric cut him off, voice coming out sharp. “More like ‘Useless King Steve who’s only worth his parents money.’” Eddie’s head whipped around at the sound of the basement door closing, Steve disappearing from his spot on the couch where he watches the story unfold and takes notes so they remember where they left off.
Eddie might as well have cast Eric out with the look in his eyes, everyone watched as the guy sunk back into his seat as Eddie sauntered over to him, a dark look in his eyes. “Tell me, Eric. Do you like having me as a DM?” Eric spluttered, a weak “yeah,” coming out eventually. “Okay. Good, good. Now tell me. If you like me so much, why would you curse the most important person in my life? The person who saved my life?”
“He’s- He’s just… King Steve…” Was the meak answer that left Eric's lips. “Did he ever do anything to you?” It was silent. Eddie slammed his hands on the table, “No. He didn’t. Because he would NEVER stoop so low as to put his hands on another person. In fact, I explicitly remember him telling Tommy H. to back off, don’t you?” His voice was loud and aggressive.
“You know, he tries so hard, to make up for the asshole he was in high school, and you fucking… TURDS, won’t accept anything! It’s not his fault he was basically bred specifically to be a reincarnation of his god awful father. And now that he’s finally out of their control, because they basically disowned him after the earthquake, leaving nothing but this god forsaken house!” Eddie paused, breathing heavily, “You can’t forgive him? He saved my life.” His voice was soft at that moment, before his eyes returned to their fiery state. “And I am in love with him, and if that’s not good enough for you? You can get the fuck out of HIS house, and find yourself a new goddamn DM.”
There was no response from Eric, “Whatever, session over. Goodbye.” Eddie waved a hand before going upstairs, likely to check on Steve.
Gareth looked at Eric, “Not cool, man. Steve’s a pretty good guy when you get to know him.” He shook his head before standing up, moving to grab his stuff and leave. Jeff nodded in agreement, “I mean, he lets us use his basement, and eat his food, and he keeps it clean for us…  Dick move, Eric.”
“Well. Fine. I’ll just leave then! Since you guys are all up King Steve’s ass for NO REASON.” Gareth watched the outburst with his arms crossed, unimpressed, “Well. Go on then.” He said, motioning to the door.
“This is ridiculous!” Eric threw his arms up and stormed out of the house.
The rest of the group trickled out after that, leaving Gareth alone in the house. He crept up the stairs, finding Steve’s room before knocking gently. “Come in,” He heard Eddie say from the other side. Seeing Steve Harrington cry was something he’d never expected to see, and honestly it was kind of heart breaking. “Hey, Gare.” Eddie said, combing a hand through Steve’s hair.
“I just… Wanted to say that what Eric said wasn’t cool… And the rest of us don’t agree with him at all, we all think you’re like super cool, and good for Eddie. I mean, you’re the only one who can get him to eat vegetables!” Gareth said, voice lifting at the end. This rendered a tearful laugh from Steve. “Thanks Gareth. I really try to be… better than I was.”
“You are,” The assure came from both Eddie and Gareth with such finality that it didn’t give him any room to argue. This rendered another soft laugh from Steve. Wiping his eyes “Feel free to crash here, we’ve got enough rooms, and food, o-or whatever.” It came out awkward, and hopeful. Gareth nodded, letting a smile spread across his face, “Thanks, Steve. I’ll take you up on that. Good night, guys.”
He shut the door softly behind him, venturing to one of the guest rooms that lined the halls.
Steve Harrington could use some more friends, Gareth decided at that moment, he was going to be one of them.

”Where have you been, young lady?” Steve snapped with his arms on his hips.
Their daughter, Grace, who had just turned sixteen had been out till 2 am and Steve wasn’t having any of it.
He had stayed up the whole night for her. Waiting around nervously and wondering if she’d even show up, but then the front door had opened quietly and he finally let out the breath he was holding as he stood up from their living room’s couch.
It wasn’t like him or Eddie were strict parents, but a girl her age wandering around in the middle of the night wasn’t safe. Anything could be creeping around. Men, women or faceless creatures who’d shred you to pieces…
A loud groan snapped him out of his thoughts.
”Geez, Dad. Don’t ’young lady’ me.” Grace stepped out of her shoes and Steve had to keep back from pouting at her attitude.
”I’ll young lady you all I want, Grace. It’s the middle of the night and I was scared you’d gotten hurt!” Steve hissed while following her around until she got to the fridge and drank the rest of her old coke can.
She sighed before throwing it away and looking up at her dad with her brown eyes.
It was like staring back into a mirror.
”I was at Jess, okay? Do I need to explain myself to you everytime I go and see my friend?”
Steve wrapped his arms around his chest and raised a brow at her.
”With Jessica? You know I’ve told you that she’s not the best influence on you. I heard that she sells drugs, Grace, that's a dangerous business.”
Grace had to hold herself back from rolling her eyes as she made her way to her room, Steve following right behind her tail.
”I don’t need your option on her. And that’s not even true!” She groaned.
”And, why do you even care if she did? Didn’t Dad also sell drugs when he was younger?” She snapped a bit harder and that’s when the door to her parents room opened and Eddie walked out, looking between the two.
”What’s going on?” Eddie murmured, dark hair on a loose ponytail as he stepped closer to the other two, eyes tired but it was clear he hadn’t slept either.
”Dad is freaking out over how I got home late because I was at a friend’s house and is now telling me I cant hang out with Jess!”
Eddie turned to give Steve a look.
”Okay, hey, I didn’t say you can’t hang out with her.” Steve answered, big brown eyes frustrated that his daughter was twisting his words. He was just trying to protect her.
”Well, I’m sure you’d be fucking glad if I didn’t!” She snapped and glared up at him, making his eyes go sad.
”Hey, let’s all calm down now,” Eddie interrupted, stepping between them. He wasn’t liking his daughter’s tone and he knew he had to intervene, especially because Steve’s breathing was getting quicker from his anxiety.
”I’ll talk with your Dad and you go ahead and go to bed, peach.”
The silence stretched for a while before Grace nodded and walked to her room, closing the door with a loud thud behind her.
Eddie let out a sigh and turned to Steve who was hugging himself, nails digging into his forearms painfully.
Steve had been anxious all night because he didn’t know where their daughter was.
He tried to explain it was just the thought of her getting drunk or hurt, but Eddie knew it was the fear of the monsters that lingered in Steve’s mind.
”What if they come back and take her?” Steve had once cried when Grace was only five months old. He had had a bad nightmare about everything that happened back in Hawkins, how Eddie had almost died in his arms and he’d woken up with a cry as he searched for Eddie and Grace.
Eddie had told him they wouldn’t as he rocked Steve back and forth in his arms, Grace sleeping peacefully next to them in her crib.
He’d told him that the upside down was gone, that nothing could hurt them anymore, but he knew it never left the back of Steve’s mind like it never left his either and tonight Eddie could see it coming back to the surface again.
”Sweetheart…” Eddie whispered and slowly took Steve’s hands into his as the other tried to hold back tears.
”I was just worried, I—” Steve tried to say, but Eddie hushed him while wrapping his arms around him and letting the other cry into his shoulder.
”She’s only acting out. She’s okay, she’s just being a teenager.” Eddie reassured him and he felt how Steve nodded, but the other still let out small sobs.
”Dada?” a little voice called from behind them and they turned to look at their five year old son, Tyler.
”Why are you crying?” He asked, small hands coming to hug Steve’s leg and big brown eyes looking straight up at him with worry.
Steve wiped his eyes and crunched down to pet his head softly, ”Nothing’s wrong with me! Dada was just cutting some onions.” Steve gave the other a big smile.
”In the middle of the night?” Tyler asked after a beat.
Steve didn’t know what to really answer, but then he felt Eddie’s hand on his shoulder and he felt the tension leave his body as the other answered for him.
”Dada was making Daddy some food. I got reeeeeally hungry!” Eddie explained while petting his stomach a few times.
”Daddy looks funny!” Tyler giggled, but it soon turned into a big yawn.
Steve smiled as he stood up, but before he could go and take their son to bed, Eddie kissed his cheek and told him he’ll do it.
When Eddie got back after Tyler finally dozed off, he found Steve already laying in their bed, but he knew the other was still up. So, he went to bed too and hugged him before giving his shoulder a soft kiss.
”She loves you, you know that, right?” Eddie said and Steve was quiet for a while before he turned around and faced Eddie, a small frown in his lips that Eddie kissed away.
Steve let out a small laugh and moved closer to Eddie.
”I know.” He answered, ”I just… I hate all the sneaking around and getting home late, y’know? It makes me really worried.”
”It’s not like you didn’t do it, Steve. If I remember right, you were letting me fuck you one night so late that your mother was livid when you got back home because you didn’t join her fancy party—”
”Shut up! The kids could hear you!” Steve panicked and threw a pillow at him.
”I’m just saying!” Eddie chuckled, ”But I get it, baby, I do. I don’t like it either, but she’s a smart kid. She knows how to take care and protect herself.”
Steve gave him a sad smile, which made Eddie caress his husband’s cheek tenderly, ”She has learned that from you. You're an amazing dad, ’kay? The best dad ever.”
Eddie leaned down to kiss the two dots on Steve’s cheek and sucked the spot to make Steve squirm and laugh under him.
”Stop it!” Steve tried to push his face away, but Eddie just leaned closer and attacked Steve’s neck now with hungry kisses. It made Steve pinch his sides as a payback.
They messed around for a while before Eddie finally backed off and cuddled Steve instead. He held him close to his chest, giving his neck small kisses as Steve finally started to relax in his arms.
”You’re an amazing dad too, Eds.”
The next morning when they both woke up, they smelled food and got up to investigate, only to find their kids in the kitchen. Tyler was perched on a chair while Grace was doing some eggs and bacon, laying them down on four different plates with some berries next to them.
She turned around and set them down to the table. When she glanced up, she saw her dad’s staring back at her from the doorway and she smiled nervously.
”Morning… I made some breakfast.”
”Smells amazing, Gracie.” Eddie smiled and came to ruffle her hair as he walked past her to get some coffee from the pot. All black with no hint of sugar or milk.
Grace turned to look at Steve now, nervous about his reaction and clear sadness in her face. She felt guilty.
And Steve knew that. He did, too.
He took a slow step forward, stopping in front of her.
They stared at each other for a while before Steve pulled her into an embrace and she immediately relaxed, hugging her dad tighter while Steve petted her head.
”I’m so sorry, Dad…”
”Oh, sweetie. I’m sorry too.” Steve smiled and kissed his daughter's head, ”I should’ve not acted like I did. I’m sorry.”
”No, I get it, Dad, I do! I promise not to scare you like that anymore. I will tell you where I am the next time, okay?”
”Pinky promise?” Steve asked and it made his daughter giggle as she leaned back, eyes a little wet. She pulled her pinky out and Steve did as well.
”Pinky promise.”
Tyler giggled and Eddie pinched the boy’s cheeks, smiling at the other two once they came to sit at the nicely set table with delicious breakfast in front of them.
Their daughter has wanted to be a cook since she saw her first ever cooking show on TV at the age of four and every food she made was always amazing.
”I added some strawberries since I know those are your favorite, Dad.” Grace said when Steve took in his plate of breakfast with a big smile.
”Where did you get them?”
”Auntie Robin brought them to Gracie this morning!” Tyler said happily with a mouthful of food.
”Ohh, did she?” Eddie laughed and it made Steve grin when Tyler giggled a small ’Yes!’ back.
Steve made sure he'd give a big hug to Robin when he sees her later that evening at their shared shift.
Grace blushed and demanded everyone to dig into their food and shut it. Which they did, but not before Eddie and Steve gave each other a kiss, making their kids gag.
”Dad’s!” Grace groaned.
”Sorryyy!” Eddie wiggled his brows teasingly and wrapped his tattooed arm around Steve’s waist, holding his husband close to him.
Eddie still knew how to make Steve blush even with the smallest little touches. Steve felt so safe with him.
As they all ate their breakfast in happy silence, soft music playing from the morning radio and the sun starting to shine behind the unopened blinds, Steve felt at peace.
He had his family here. Together and safe.
Nothing would be better than this.

Tumblr media Tumblr media
“You need what?” “One of those things that when you cut up watermelon or that green melon what’s that called?” “Son you’re asking the wrong person about fruits…” “right..doesn’t matter what it’s called but I know you have one of those things that makes it into like little balls and shit I need to borrow it.” “Ohh you’re talking about a melon baller?” “Is…that really what it’s called?” “Don’t look at me I didn’t name the damn thing…but yeah it’s in the junk drawer I’ve never used it…you can keep it.” “Thanks Wayne…this is perfect.” “What do you need it for?” “She doesn’t eat enough fruit so I figured if it’s in cute little shapes and shit she’ll eat more of it.” “Cute little shapes huh?” “Don’t start…” “here maybe take those old cookie cutters too? If the balls don’t work maybe the heart and star will?” “Oh that’s a great idea. Thanks Wayne I appreciate it.” “Anytime…let me know how it goes.”
“She won’t like that one.” “What? Why not?” “It’s…scratchy.” “It may be god awful ugly with these green dots all over…but it sure as shit ain’t scratchy…” “to us yeah it’s soft but I know her…she won’t like how it feels and she needs a new blanket for the living room the one she uses now is falling apart.” “Okay what about that pink one with the white hearts? It doesn’t look scratchy?” “Let’s see…this could work…yeah she’ll like this one it’s similar to the one she already has and she typically likes to get the exact same things over and over.” “So this will work?…damn that’s soft…might have to get me one of these.” “Yeah it’ll work the only difference is the one she has now has white and purple hearts.” “And you don’t think she’ll notice?” “Oh she’ll notice but she won’t care…are you really getting one?” “Yeah this is the softest thing I’ve ever felt…she has good taste.” “She’ll love that you two have the same blanket.”
“Now just relax for a moment and tell me what happened.” “Some fucking dude at work asked for her number…even called her sweetheart.” “Okay and I can tell that’s made you upset.” “Well yeah she’s mine why do people think they can talk to her like that?” “Listen..I know you like to keep her wrapped up in this bubble of…safety but you’re not always gonna be around and…well she’s a cute girl so you’ve gotta just learn to deal with people making passes at her.” “I just know people will try to take advantage of her…I can’t fucking stand the thought of something happening to her because I wasn’t there and she doesn’t know how to defend herself.” “Then teach her.” “Teach her? Teach her what?” “How to tell someone to fuck off and defend herself…teach her how to feel confident enough to be able to stand her ground when you’re not there to do it for her.” “I don’t want to freak her out and teaching her how to hit someone will for sure…freak her out…” “don’t teach her to fight Eddie teach her how to say things with enough confidence that creeps and weirdos get the hint and leave her alone.” “I..how do I do that?” “I’ll help you okay? Just maybe bring her over sometime this week.” “She’s…just too nice sometimes…” “and that’s okay we just gotta teach her when to not be nice.” “Okay Roadhouse…”
“I got these for her.” “Oh tye dye socks…she’ll love these.” “Yeah? I wasn’t sure but I figured they were colorful and fuzzy for when she’s in the house and on sale so…I hope they fit.” “It’s socks Wayne they typically always fit but yeah…she needed new fuzzy ones she doesn’t like the flowered ones anymore they’ve gotten all dingy.” “I saw her in slippers the other day…I thought you had gotten rid of them because she kept trying to wear them outside the house?” “I tried…” “you tried?” “She looked like I just told her the tooth fairy wasn’t real when I tried to take them out of her closet…so yeah…she still has them.” “You’re such a softy…” “says the man worried about if she’s gonna like these fuzzy socks…” “i just want her to be comfortable while at home that’s all.” “Mhmm…right…” “listen you spoil her so damn much the least I can do is get her some damn socks okay?” “Okay…don’t worry she’ll love them.”

Casual Dominance - Eddie Munson x Fem!Reader
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Eddie Munson x Fem!Reader
Summary: various instances where your bf Eddie Munson demonstrates dominant behaviors in your relationship.
A/N: I wrote this pretty quickly as all these scenarios of Eddie being soft/dominant came to me all at once. I am such a sucker for casual dominance like this with Eddie in other fics and had to divulge and write some of my own. I must admit I did draw inspo from a writer on here who I can't remember (sorry!) where they wrote something about Eddie pulling the reader's skirt down. Ever since I read that, it has lived in my brain rent free and thus this was created. So, thank you to that writer whoever you are! Also, the format of this fic is a bit wonky but I hope you're still able to enjoy! <3
Word Count: 1,467
Warnings: smoking, creepy men, drinking, protective Eddie, kissing, defensive Eddie, drugs, fluff

Eddie is definitely the type to display various ways of casual dominance. He would never be overbearing but I feel like he’d be very protective of you, wanting to ensure the absolute best for you. He had never loved someone so deeply as love in his own life was scarce. A true romantic at heart, Eddie would vow to protect those who he loves dearly, and my oh my if you were his significant other, you would be at the top of his list.
Sometimes when you’d come home drunk after seeing Corroded Coffin perform at The Hideout, he’d take off your makeup for you, knowing you’d regret it if you didn't because every single time your eyes burned as soon as you cracked them open in the morning. He’d lead your stumbling figure over to sit on the toilet before getting your makeup wipes that he had stashed away in his room.
“Sit, sweetheart.”
“Come on, Edsss,” you drawled out, “ ‘m tired,” punctuating your sentence with a huff and a slight pout to your drawn lips.
He chuckled as he ran his thumb softly over your extended bottom lip, he found you so endearing when you were like this.
“I know, honey, but we got to get your makeup off.” He spoke in a hushed voice despite the trailer being only the two of you as Wayne was working his shift at the plant.
You mumbled incoherently with a slight whine to your now higher-pitched voice.
Eddie had now kneeled to be eye level with you, one of his large jeweled hands expanding over your exposed knee. His warmth seeping into your already heated body.
His other hand worked to wipe at your darkened eyes gently. His face contorted in concentration as he worked. His dark eyebrows pulled in towards each other as his pink tongue made its way to the corner of his lip. The room suddenly grew quiet with only the hum of the overhead fan going and the soft breaths of yours and Eddie’s filled the air.
Finally finishing your eyes, Eddie made haste in wiping off the color on your stained lips. You hummed at this, knowing he’d be finished soon. As that peaceful look came across your face, he couldn't help but stare with pure love and adoration in his eyes. His large brown doe eyes sparkled under the rather dull bathroom light but all could see the adoration that pooled in his eyes.
He could no longer resist before pressing his lips to yours in a soft gentle kiss. You reciprocated it despite not being able to really feel it as the alcohol still coursed heavy through your veins.
“I love you so much, sweetheart, you know that?”
You now opened your eyes to see the face that you were always meant to love.
“Yes, Eds. I love you too.”
The two of you stared, taking the moment to truly let the words sink in. You interrupted the serene moment as the weight of your limbs came back from the floaty feeling Eddie’s love gave you just a moment before.
”Can I cuddle with my Eddie Teddy now?” You asked as your lips pouted again and your eyes turned to puppy ones.
Eddie’s laugh ricocheted off the plastic walls as your smile grew into a giggle.
“Of course, sweetheart, let’s go.”
Another instance would be when you’d be talking energetically about something and he would adjust your clothing or hair. Once you were talking enthusiastically about how great the new song was to the hellfire boys at a band session when the neckline of your shirt began to slip lower. Eddie was quick to spot the top of your bra and moved to smooth out your shirt.
He placed his large hand on your back and slightly tugged the shirt back into place. All the while, the boys made sure to keep direct eye contact with you as they respected Eddie way too much to be disrespecting him in front of him. His eyes met yours briefly as you continued to talk and he gave you an encouraging smile as you continued expressing your excited feelings.
Another time, you both were at a party playing a stupid drinking game that he can’t seem to ever remember where you were standing up and sitting down again. With your constant movement of going up and down, your skirt had begun to ride up. He noticed some of the guys taking quick glances at your receding skirt line and exposed thighs. Eddie would quickly shut down their wandering eyes by yelling a “Hey! Watch it, man,” putting on that intimidating, hard exterior that had been cultivated from years of being the town freak.
It worked every single time as the guys would quickly look away and not dare to spare another curious glance. His large hand would then gently tug down the material of your skirt, all while admiring your beautiful smile and knowing only he could get to see that much of your exposed skin. Thus, tying into my idea of Eddie being a “my girl can wear what she wants, I can fight” kind of guy.
Eddie would constantly carry your purse, backpack, shopping bags, anything. He’d refuse to let you carry things as he wanted you to be as comfortable as possible and enjoy whatever you were doing wholeheartedly. He would often look silly with your frilly, soft-toned purses against his hard, studded outfits of metal band t-shirts, signature leather jacket, battle vest, and ripped jeans. Yet, he never hesitated and always felt pride with you by his side.
One thing he’d always make sure to do was be the driver when you'd two hang out or go to school. He felt a sense of control when he was behind the wheel, knowing he’d be cautious in protecting his beautiful passenger princess.
When he’d catch you trying to smoke one of his cigarettes, he’d give you a stern warning that often led into a lecture on how he does not want a pretty thing like you to get addicted. When you’d ask him why he could do it but not you, he'd reply with a simple, “I’ve got a reputation to maintain, sweetheart.” The response always left you huffing and puffing while he gave you a signature Munson smirk and inhaled the delicious smoke.
He would also put you behind him if someone got in his face or a client would unexpectedly walk up to him. Sometimes when things got a little rowdy at The Hideout, he’d shield you away from the brashness of heightened testosterone and alcohol levels. Whether it’d be someone in the audience or a member from the other acts wanting to pick a fight, he’d slowly put his arm out and guide you behind his tall figure, puffing his chest out and making his stature stoic and hard. You couldn't complain though, as the view of his broad shoulders and stiff back had you swooning and wanting to run your hands over the expanse of his sexy back profile.
Or when you’d be out and about around town, enjoying yourselves and a client would interrupt the two of you. You knew he dealt and was fine with it but he did not want those two aspects of his life crossing. Thus, when a client who was seemingly desperate for goods came up to you and Eddie in the middle of a date, he’d immediately shield you from their sight. He’d tell them that now was not the time in that lower register of his that you’d never hear directed at you.
The client would try and argue with Eddie but he never backed down. Meanwhile, you’d just brush your thumb across his knuckles as he held your hand behind him, assuring him of your calming presence. Once the agitated client left, Eddie would relax his body and apologize softly. You’d always forgive him but the incident would still leave him upset for a while. That is until the next time he spoke to said client and it would be understood that that would never happen again.
Even when he was not around, he had told the boys to look out for you as the target on his back easily transferred to yours. The hellfire boys all agreed as you’d quickly become one of their own. So in the rare moments when he wasn’t with you and one of the boys was there when someone decided to shoot off a mean remark, they’d be ready to defend you.
So yeah, even though this isn’t an ask or really a fic, more like a really long blurb???, I definitely feel like Eddie would be casually dominant with you out of sheer love. Now, in the bedroom, this would transfer in mind-blowing ways that plenty of people here on this site have written about and you should go read!
Thank you for reading, Angel! <3

Casual Dominance Thoughts With Eddie Munson, My Baby! 🖤🖤
— that van of his would ALWAYS be at your front door, waiting to drop you off, or take you to school with him! Eddie would meet you at your porch and then lead you to the car, hand in his. He would always open and close the car door for you! Even if you insisted you could do it yourself.
- Eddie knew you couldn’t drive yet. But that’s okay! “Driving is dangerous, baby! Let me handle that, okay? You just sit there and look pretty for me while I drive,” he’d say to you. You’d agree :)
-You practiced driving with him once, but almost swerved into oncoming traffic. Since then, you were his passenger princess. On especially long car rides he would let you take your shoes off and rest your legs on the dash. “You comfy, sweetheart?” You’d nod back in reply, and then he’d lean over and run his hand on your cheek, and then he’d rest it on your thigh while he drives.
-Even though Eddie did drugs, he wouldn’t want you doing them too much. “Not too healthy for a sweet thing like you! Don’t want you to get addicted, or hurt yourself when you’re high.” Sometimes he’d let you have a little bit of weed, but ONLY under his supervision. He would always keep a close eye on you at parties too, making sure you don’t drink too much.
- If you got too drunk, he’d just sit you in his lap for the rest of the night and make sure you had some water :) He’d be talking to the rest of the group and you’d just be slumped over in his lap, running your fingers over his tattoos. He’d always let you, of course.
-He’d be the type of boyfriend to hold your hair back for you and rub your back gently if you threw up, helping you clean up after.
- He was such a sweet and protective bf ! He always kept an extra water bottle / snacks with him for you! In case you ever got hungry, or forgot to drink water that day 🥰

eddie munson x little sister!reader
Tumblr media
I AM IGNORING VOL 2 BECAUSE I AM MENTALLY NOT OKAY WITH IT.
+_+_+_+_+_+_+_+_+_+_+_+_+_+_+
Since this is his 3rd time doing senior year, it means that you and he are in the same grade this year.
He is fine with that so he can protect you more but then he hates that you might get teased a little for it.
When he sees the popular girls messing with you, he doesn’t know what to do (because he is a respectful man and doesn’t hurt women in any way shape or form).
When he sees Chrissy in the woods, he asks her what he should do while they are talking. And she says she will try to talk to them.
And Eddie makes the decision to talk to you so he can really understand what’s going on.
You say it’s been going on for a while and you got used to it so it’s fine, which he was not fine with (because no one hurts his little sister).
He has to let it happen because he doesn’t know what else to do and if he tries to be weird you will just get made fun of more, but one day he sees them stick gum in your hair. And he gets so upset. Especially because he has gotten gum stuck in his hair and with those precious curls, it causes so much trouble.
He runs over and drags you away from the situation while the girls are teasing you for getting your brother to save you.
Eddie helps you get the gum out of your hair without ruining it, it just looks a little weird.
Eddie makes you stick with him, all day every day. Even walked you to your classes and try to get out of his classes early to get you. You guys have the same class or two.
Eddie makes you sit with him at lunch and one of his friends makes the worst decision and makes a joke about it.
When I say he stopped smiling that moment and threatened to hurt him, I mean it.
He doesn’t care what happens to himself, but anyone brings his sister into anything at all, some shit is going down.
He makes you go to the Hellfire meetings, but you don’t join them in it.
You sit in the corner and read the whole time.
And Eddie has no idea how you finish books so quickly. You might recommend some books to him and make him read a chapter or two every day.
He finds it annoying sometimes.
You guys do the homework together because you make him, and if you figure out he didn’t do it, you hide his guitar.
And it sets him off (his guitar is his baby), you make him do it and then you will give it back to him once all the homework is done and the next day it is turned in. You are one of the only reasons he is passing at the moment.
You help him with papers sometimes, and he doesn’t mind the help sometimes.
And Uncle Wayne didn’t give you a curfew, Eddie did.
He also made sure he always drove you; no one was allowed to pick you up.
Boys were terrified to date you because of the interrogations they heard Eddie gives each individual boy.
And he lets them know they are not good enough for you.
Eddie drives you to the dates and restates the rules he’s made every single time.
One of the times you didn’t go to one of the Hellfire meetings because you said you weren’t feeling well, you brought your boyfriend over.
And it ended earlier than usual cause he wanted to make sure you were fine, and he saw you cuddling with your boyfriend on the couch.
Oh, he got pissed.
He dragged your boyfriend off of you and made him sit outside while he talked to you.
That is one of the main reasons you have to go with Eddie to each Hellfire meeting.
He said no boys, till they’re men.
And he said that doesn’t happen till they are 20.

Tumblr media
Wants to THROTTLE the kids, but chooses a verbal beat down instead.
Give me Eddie that loses his shit to protect Steve.
Give me Steve that finally gets the respect he deserves after babysitting the little shits for so long with absolutely no pay.

After all, you'd caught his attention long before that day.
Pairing: Eddie Munson x (fem) Henderson!Reader
Word count: 6.1 k
Warning/Tags: fluff, angst, animal abuse, mentions of blood and injuries (minor), drug use (marijuana), mutual pining, post season 3, protective Eddie
Author's note: First of all: Thank you again for sending this, because I had so much fun writing it (especially since I'd had that last part in mind for weeks already, so I got the opportunity to finally write it down). I really hope I captured the Henderson-vibe, because I just adore Dustin and his relationship with a sibling and those who act as siblings towards him. 💚

“You? For yourself?”
“You gonna sell it to me or not, Munson? Otherwise I’ll have to find someone else.”
It had taken you some courage to go up to Eddie and ask him for some mariuana, but you knew that he was at least someone you could trust with this. You’d never even smoked a cigarette before, because your mother would have killed you. All these years, you’d been the good girl, had taken care of your brother, had started working as soon as you could to earn some money - not that your family desperately needed it, but you wanted to, to put some money aside. You still were the good girl, but about a year ago, you’d started cutting loose a bit. On the weekends, at night when nobody was watching you, just to… feel alive, go on adventures. Every now and then you felt like Bilbo in The Hobbit , safe and content in your home, but when the opportunity arose, you grabbed it and left your home. In your case just for a couple of hours, not for months on end, but you certainly felt a connection to the hobbit.
Your brother didn’t know, because even if Dustin was younger than you, he’d give you a piece of his mind. Your mother would probably faint if she knew what you were up to. Then again… she was oblivious to all the things that Dustin had lived through, but he’d confided in you. The two of you were really close, always had been, and Dustin was probably the reason why you were still here even after you’d graduated. After everything that Dustin had been through, you wanted to stay close. In the end, it was the best decision, because you still weren’t sure what you wanted to do, so you spent your time working at Enzo’s.
This week, though, you didn’t have to work at all, because you’d been working overtime for nearly a month. That’s why you were here, meeting Eddie, because you wanted to get high for the first time. Your mother was out of town, your brother was staying with Mike… Nobody who would judge you, if you really did something stupid.
“You know, your brother will kill me, if he finds out, right?” Oh, Dustin would probably get all up in Eddie’s face, and while Eddie was the older, the taller one, he respected and loved Dustin too much to start an argument with him - at least not one that involved someone Dustin loved as much as he loved you.
“Alright, I’ll find someone else.” You pushed yourself off the bench ready to leave when Eddie covered your hand with his.
“Wait!” No way in hell would he let you go to someone else with this, someone who might take advantage of you or sell you some shitty stuff. Not gonna happen. He realised that you knew what you wanted and that you’d get it one way or another.
Slowly, you sat back down, eyes fixed on him, while Eddie pulled his hand back and rubbed it across his face.
“Ever done that before?” He was pretty sure you hadn’t, because then you would have gone to your dealer of choice instead of coming to him. But you were here, so he already knew the answer.
“No.”
And there it was.
“A first time for everything right? And maybe, I’m feeling a little adventurous!” You started grinning at him, before you got up from the bench again to walk over to his side and sit down next to him. God, you’d had a crush on him for well over a year now, even before your brother had become a part of the Hellfire Club. Maybe it was because he was different from the other people. Maybe because he’d always been kind to you whenever you’d crossed paths. Maybe because he’d been nothing short of sweet while you’d been in class together. Maybe because he’d constantly called you princess . Maybe, it was a mix of all of that, but after the first time he’d called you that, you’d lost your heart. Ridiculous maybe, but it hadn’t been something you’d actively chosen, it had just happened.
Thank God, it didn’t hold you back in talking to him. You weren’t that shy anymore, had become more confident, brazen even over the last year or so. Before that, you wouldn’t have sat down next to him, but now? No problem, even if your heart started racing as you felt his upper arm press against yours.
“Oh, I know about you being adventurous,” he said with a smirk, pulled while he started rolling a blunt. Head cocked to the side, he looked at you. “Seen you walk around at night. Guess Dustin doesn’t know about it?”
“No.” Fuck, he knew, but he hadn’t told Dustin. “And he better not find out. He’s already worried enough.” Which… was probably not surprising considering everything that had happened in Hawkins, especially since you’d gotten all the details.
“And he’s right. You shouldn’t be out there at night all by yourself. Do you even know how to defend yourself?” Eddie tried to mask the worry shining in his eyes by pulling his brows together, giving you a stern look. If nobody in your family could tell you off for behaviour like that, he took it upon himself.
“As a matter of fact, I do.” Not exactly a lie, but you knew at least a little bit to fend someone off. “What about you? You must have been out as well, if you saw me walking around…”
“Ahhh yes, but the difference is that people stay away from me, because I’m the freak . You know they say all kinds of things about me. Actually thought you’d be scared of me as well.”
“Of you?” you scoffed, followed that up with a chuckle. “I’d never be afraid of you. You might have a tough exterior and I get it, but deep down…” You tipped your finger against his chest, smile still in place. “Deep down, you’re a really nice guy.”
For a moment, Eddie simply stared at you, his eyes dropping to your lips, before he looked back in your eyes again. Until now - or at least until he’d seen you sneaking around - he’d thought you were such a sweet girl, went out of your way for your family and friends, which was still true, but there was a side to you, that fueled his interest in you even more - and brought out his protective side. He’d seen you in school, had watched you now and then, because he’d been curious about you. He’d found himself looking forward even more when they had their Hellfire Club meetings, because he knew that you’d pick up Dustin, that he’d get to see you. You’d never exchanged more than a couple of words, but every time, he’d found out something new about you. That you were always dangling your keys when you were getting nervous or impatient. That your eyes lit up completely when you got excited about something. That you smiled at your brother with adoration whenever you saw him play. It was truly a deep bond that you shared, which… had made Eddie swallow the feelings that had been bubbling up, because he couldn’t ask Dustin’s sister out, could he?
“Yeah, don’t tell anyone that.” He couldn’t help but smile, because you were right. He’d do anything for his friends just like you, he was passionate about the things he loved, people just didn’t try to look past the rougher exterior.
“Your secret’s safe with me.” You sat up again, breaking the contact of your arms in that movement, but you turned towards him. “So…?”
Eddie held out the blunt for you, but as soon as you reached for it, he pulled his hand back.
“On one condition!” A mischievous smile was on his lips. You narrowed your eyes at him, not sure what was to come. “You won’t smoke alone. You do it right here, right now, and I’ll keep an eye on you.”
“Are you serious?” There were worse things than spending your evening with Eddie, especially when he made that tingling in your stomach increase the longer he looked at you.
“Dead serious. Who knows how you’ll react and I’ll be here to keep you from doing anything stupid.” He owed that much to Dustin, if he wasn’t allowed to tell him.
You agreed, though you were pretty sure that you wouldn’t do anything stupid - well, that depended on what his definition of stupid was.
It wasn’t exactly surprising for you that you enjoyed your time with Eddie out here in the woods. You had your privacy because nobody really came out here, and you had more in common than you’d thought at first. Conversation flowed easily between you, while you felt your head get lighter and lighter and the trees around you suddenly looked all the more beautiful.
“Looks like you like to dance when you get high,” Eddie said with a chuckle, his eyes on you as you walked around the table, did some little spins and turns, a goofy grin on your face.
“Mhhm,” was your only reaction, but when the world started to spin on its own accord, you walked to the table and lay down on it, legs dangling off it. For a moment, you closed your eyes and took a deep breath, until you felt Eddie step between your legs, his thighs brushing against yours.
He leaned forward a little bit, placed his hands next to your hips.
“Feeling good, princess?” he asked, looking down at you.
You opened your eyes and studied his face. His hair cascaded around his face, and he was so close that it nearly touched your cheeks. The guitar pick around his neck was dangling down, catching your eyes for a moment. You hummed your response again, feeling blissfully happy right now.
“You’re so pretty,” you suddenly heard yourself whisper, as you reached up with your right hand to trace your fingertips along his cheeks, his jaw, but then you dropped it again. “Such a pretty boy.”
Eddie’s eyes were fixed on yours. His tongue darted out to wet his lips. He was thinking of all kinds of things now, his hands inching closer to your thighs, but he kept himself from touching you.
“And you’re high.” THAT was the reason why he didn’t do anything, even though he really wanted to find out if your lips tasted as sweet as they looked.
“True.” A giggle escaped your lips and as Eddie took a step back and straightened again, you slowly sat up. “But you’re still pretty when I’m not high.”
Eddie tried to hide the blush creeping to his cheeks behind his hair. He couldn’t help but smile to himself. You’d always been cute, but this right here was something else.
“Time to get you home,” he said all of a sudden, reaching out his hand for you to take it. “I’ll make sure you get home safe and then you can get some sleep.” You wanted to protest, but he shushed you with his words straight away. “Just.. trust me on this, okay? I’m just looking out for you.”
And he did. He drove you home and on the way there, you already felt your eyes falling shut. Eddie even walked you to the door, made sure that you were alright and had everything you needed, before he left you alone - or rather stayed in front of your house until he saw you get into your room and turn off the lights there again, because you went straight to bed.
__________
“She’s been talking about you, you know?” Dustin said about a week later, when he was sitting in front of the school with Eddie waiting for you. They’d finished up earlier than usual and while the others had gone home, Dustin and Eddie enjoyed spending some time together.
“Who?” Oh, he damn well knew who Dustin was talking about, but he had to make sure.
“My sister, who did you think I was talking about?” Dustin scrunched up his nose before he kept on talking. “Anyway, she told me that you two met last week.”
Eddie tensed up, so before Dustin could pick up on that, he got up and crossed his arms over his chest to keep himself from fiddling with his rings.
“What did she tell you?”
“That you bumped into each other and then spent some time talking.” Dustin shrugged his shoulders, but kept his eyes on Eddie. “And that she enjoyed that evening.” Oh, Dustin was watching Eddie intently now, picked up on the way his lips curled up into s smile. He’d seen Eddie look at you, had seen the way he’d smiled to himself every time Dustin had told him that you were picking him up after the club meetings. He was young, but he wasn’t dumb or blind, and now that you’d told him that you’d enjoyed your time with Eddie with that same kind of goofy smile on your lips, he had to say something.
“Yeah, it was nice.” Eddie tried to play it down, because he’d really had a good time with you. The thoughts that had filled his head while you’d laid there on the table had filled his dreams up until today. He wasn’t proud of it, but neither was he ashamed, because he liked you. Really liked you.
“Dude, if you want to ask her out, just do it!”
“What?”
“You heard me. You’re smiling like an idiot whenever I say her name.”
Eddie couldn’t deny that fact, because he’d realised it himself. He’d tried not to smile whenever Dustin mentioned you, but he simply couldn’t, especially not after you’d spent that evening together.
“She’s nice,” Eddie stated, uncrossing his arms again to run a palm over his neck.
“She’s the best,” Dustin corrected him, making Eddie laugh, but he nodded in agreement. There was silence for a moment, while Eddie pondered on what to say next. Dustin adored you, and you adored him as well. He’d never seen such a bond between siblings, which was what concerned him. Not that he was planning on ever doing anything that could hurt you, but he knew that if he did, he’d lose Dustin as well, and he’d grown rather fond of that little butthead.
“You really okay with that?” Eddie asked tentatively, picking at the skin of his bottom lip.
“You’re one of the good guys, Eddie.” Dustin’s smile softened. He’d trust Eddie with everything, so he trusted him with you as well. “And she likes you.”
“She said that?”
“Not exactly. But I know her.” Dustin got up now as well, because he saw your car coming up to where they were standing. “Just ask her.”
Dustin was more confident than Eddie when it came to this, but he’d definitely try his luck. He felt his heart pick up its pace when you stopped in front of them and got out of the car, a warm smile on your lips.
“Hey Eddie!” Your smile widened just a fraction when you looked at him, but that funny feeling in your stomach made you divert your attention to your brother. “Ready to go, Dustin?”
“All set.” He walked straight to the passenger door, only stopping to give you a hug, because he wanted to get in the car first, give Eddie a chance to talk to you, before you drove home.
“Y/n?” Your name from Eddie’s lips caught your attention and you turned towards him again, curious about what he wanted to say. “I thought that maybe… we could watch a movie together on Saturday. Grab something to eat, you choose the movie…” He didn’t care whether you went out or spent the night in his trailer or even your home. Sure, the latter would give you a little more privacy, but as long as he got to spend some time with you, everything was fine for him.
You hesitated for a moment, not really sure what to say. Of course, you wanted to spend time with him, wanted to feel more of that connection that you’d felt the week before. But you were scared. Scared of what this might become, where this would lead, and your desire for adventure was suddenly nowhere to be found.
“Sorry, I have to work on Saturday.” You tried your best to smile at him. You didn’t like lying to him, not at all, but you actually had some plans for Saturday night. Plans that you didn’t want to say out loud, because he’d definitely try to talk you out of it, so it was easier to make him think that you were working.
“Sure.” Eddie simply nodded and took a step back, before he raised his hand to wave at you. “See you ‘round.”
“Yeah…”
Eddie pretty much hurried to his van, or so it seemed to you, leaving you with a feeling of regret. You should have said yes, you’d wanted to say yes, but this was important to you, because you knew that the Wallaces would be out that night, and you didn’t know when they’d be gone the next time.
“So…” Dustin said as soon as you’d started the engine. He turned towards you so that he could watch you. You could see him grin in the corner of your eye. “What did you say?”
“What do you mean?” Keeping your eyes on the road ahead you tried to ignore the heavy beating of your heart when you thought about your brother’s question.
“Eddie asked you out, right? So what did you say?” Dustin inched closer only to be shoved back into the seat by you. An exasperated sigh left his lips when you didn’t answer straight away.
“I said that I have to work on Saturday.”
“You don’t. I know your schedule.”
“Well…” You wet your lips, trying to find an explanation you could give Dustin without telling him the whole truth. Instead, you focused on something else. “Wait, you were talking about me?”
“Just like we talked about Eddie?” His voice got painfully high at the end of his question, making you aware that he was getting frustrated with you. His voice always got higher then, and you knew that you had to calm him down a little bit, before he started rambling on and on until you were home.
“You’re right, sorry.” That usually helped, and it did so as well right now. You took a deep breath before you glanced at your brother. “So… you told him to ask me out or what?”
“Not exactly.”
“What’s that mean?” Because if Dustin had set him up to ask you out, you knew that you’d get way too disappointed about it.
“Look, he smiles when I mention your name. You smile when you talk about him. It’s obvious you like each other, so I just… kinda gave him a little nudge in the right direction.” More than a nudge maybe, but did it really matter in the end? “Guess he just needed my approval.” At least that’s what it had felt like, and Dustin was… kinda proud of it, seeing that he was your younger brother and wouldn’t stand a chance against Eddie, if it really came down to it. But they respected and loved each other, so Eddie would never do anything to upset Dustin, at least not on purpose.
“What now, you’re taking on the role of protective brother?” You couldn’t help but smile.
“What’s so funny about that?”
“Nothing… Really, it’s rather sweet.” And it was. He always wanted what was best for you. You leaned over to ruffle his hair. “Love you, Dustin.”
“Yeah, I love you, too.” He quickly grabbed his cap again and put it on to hide how dishevelled his hair was now. “Will you at least think about it? Eddie is a really great guy.”
“I know.” Nobody had to tell you that, especially not after your last meeting, where he’d been the perfect gentleman, while you’d thought about pulling him close and wrapping your legs around his waist right there on that table. “I’ll think about it.” Well, you’d already made your mind up, knew that you wanted to go out with him, the timing just wasn’t right.
____________
Saturday night, and you were sneaking out of your window. Dustin was staying with Mike again, and your Mum had fallen asleep in front of the TV, so you didn’t want to risk waking her and having to explain why you were leaving the house in the middle of the night. She’d only worry about you, understandably so, but you really didn’t need to answer all of her questions.
Your car stayed where it was due to the same reasons, so instead you walked. The cool nightair made you shiver and wish you’d taken a jacket with you, but there was no turning back now. Too risky, and getting up to the roof of your garage was always a bit difficult, so you really didn’t need to do that twice tonight. After all, walking warmed you up as well.
Determined, you set one foot in front of the other, touching your fingertips to the wire cutter in the back pocket of your jeans. The Wallaces had two little dogs, but they were treating them like shit. They hit them, didn’t feed them enough, so you’d snuck out there to feed them through the fence, always careful that they didn’t see you. But Eddie had seen you around, it must have been there or on the way there, because you always found yourself in the area when you snuck out, making sure to have some food with you.
Dressed in black, you blended in with the shadows. There wasn’t a lot happening on the streets, but you had to be sure, nobody saw you. A party here and there, but usually, these people didn’t pay attention to what was happening apart from the party itself, and when they were on their way home, they were too drunk or high to see what was happening around them.
It was just past eleven when you reached your destination. The dogs were staying out here in the cold, not even a little hut or anything to which they could retreat. Even from the fence you could see that they were freezing. When they saw you, both of the puppies got up and tried to get to you. Their little whines made your heart ache.
“I’m gonna get you out of there,” you said more to yourself than to the puppies. You reached into your bag and threw some food over to them so that they were busy, while you got your wire cutter out and started to work on the fence so that you could crawl through it. It was too high to climb over and you couldn’t get in from the other side.
When you were just about to climb through the fence, you felt a hand on your shoulder.
“What the fuck are you doing here?” The hand remained on your shoulder, as you swirled around, the wire cutter held in front of you as if it was some kind of weapon. When you saw who stood there, though, you relaxed a little, but your heart still kept its rapid pace.
“Eddie! You scared me!”
“Sorry, I didn’t mean to.”
“Did you follow me?”
“No, but you were here the last time I saw you, and it just happens to be my… well kind route when I can’t sleep.” Sometimes he walked, sometimes he drove, but it was most of the time the same route he took, except for when he drove out of town to his spot where he could overlook all of Hawkins.
“Okay…” You believed him, because as far as you knew, Eddie had never lied to you. “Still, you better get going, ‘cause I don’t want to get you involved in this.”
“Too late, princess.” Eddie crossed his arms, giving you a stern look, before he sighed. “I can’t talk you out of this, can I?”
“You see these puppies? I’m not doing this for fun. They can’t stay here. One of them is limping, they have cuts on their bodies, and they hardly get anything to eat. So they have to get out of there.”
“So that’s why you’ve been sneaking out?”
“It’s… one aspect.” You liked the thrill of it, of doing something your mother wouldn’t approve of, but ever since you’d seen these two, you’d made it your mission to get them out of there.
“Alright. You stay here, I get them out.” Eddie brushed past you to raise the cut open fence and get through.
“Eddie, you really don’t have to do this.” It was sweet, really, but you didn’t want to get him involved in your… criminal activity.
“Someone has got to watch out for you if you’re being so reckless. Looks like that someone is me. At least now I know what your real plans for tonight were.”
Before you could say anything, tell him that you were sorry for lying to him, Eddie had gone through the fence. The two puppies ducked away from him at first, too scarred by what had been done to them already. He crouched down and stuck out his hands for them to sniff him, make sure that they knew that he didn’t want to harm them. You were right, they had to be saved.
“Shit,” he heard you from behind and turned just so that he could see you. You’d crawled through the fence after him, but now you were clutching your forearm. He could see the blood on your hand when you pulled it away, which made him curse under his breath.
“Didn’t I tell you to stay back,” he whispered as you came closer, the puppies immediately relaxing when they recognized you.
“And you think you can boss me around?”
“I was just watching out for you! You’re too reckless!” His touch was soft despite his harsh words when he reached for your arm to inspect the wound in the dim light. “Once weÄre out of here, we’ll clean that up.”
At a loss for words, you simply nodded. The dogs were more important right now anyway, so you took off their leashes and scooped them up. This time, Eddie held up the fence for you so that you could get out of there without taking any more damage.
“My van is over there.”
At first, you wanted to protest, but you thought better of it. Actually, you could use the help, and you couldn’t take the dogs home with you. Your Mum would most definitely freak out.
Once you were seated in the van, Eddie turned to you and took off his jacket to give it to you. By now, you were freezing cold as the adrenaline wasn’t keeping you warm anymore, and you felt the sting in your arm again. The puppies were settled in the foot well on your side of the car, cuddling close to each other.
“I will get blood all over it!”
“It’s a jacket, princess, and there are these things called washing machines. Don’t worry. Can’t let you freeze yourself to death.”
“Thanks..” you muttered but pulled his jacket on, which was still warm from his own body heat. His scent filled your nose, a mix of mariuana, the cologne he sometimes wore and something else, and it made you smile.
You drove in silence to Eddie’s trailer, your attention on the two dogs between your feet. They were still shivering a little bit, but they seemed at ease here with you.
The trailer park lay in complete silence when Eddie parked the van. Without a word, he got up and rounded the car to open the passenger door. Handing you his keys, he carefully scooped up the dogs.
“Can you open the door? Before I take a look at your arm, I want you to take it easy, so I’m carrying them.”
You just nodded and got out. It was strange to not do this on your own, to have Eddie suddenly in charge, but it also felt good, because you had someone by your side that you could trust. You dangled the keys in your hand, but had to find the right one once you were in front of the door.
“The green one,” Eddie told you, and so you were able to let the two of you inside. He walked straight past you to put the puppies down on the sofa, wrapped a blanket around them so that they would hopefully warm up a little bit more. “Sorry for the mess.”
“No need to apologise, don’t worry.” He should see Dustin’s room every now and then, before your Mum walked inside and feigned a heart attack upon seeing all the chaos there.
“Come on, let me take a look at your arm.” Eddie put his hand on the small of your back and guided you to a chair in the kitchen area of the trailer. “Take the jacket off, I’ll be right back.”
Before you sat down, you rid yourself of his jacket and placed it on the counter. Your eyes fell on the cut on your arm, that had mostly stopped bleeding, but it still looked a little nasty with all the smudged blood around it. When you touched your fingertips to the wound, you winced.
“Stop that.” Eddie’s stern voice made you pull your hand back immediately. He put everything he needed on the counter before he crouched down in front of you. “It’s gonna hurt, but we need to clean that wound, alright?” After you nodded, Eddie took a wet towel to clean the blood from your arm, eyes fixed on what he was doing. God, he was angry, and he knew that if he looked at you a moment too long, he’d probably snap. Of course, he understood why you’d done that, but you should have at least listened to him when he’d told you to stay back.
“I’ll disinfect it now, and then we’re nearly done, alright?”
“Yeah…” While Eddie wasn’t looking at you, you kept your eyes on him. On the concentration on his face, his ring-clad fingers that were so rough against your skin, but handling you with such care that it made your stomach flip. You inhaled a sharp breath when he disinfected your wounds, causing you to lose focus on his hands.
“Sorry, princess. Nearly done.”
He reached for the bandages to finish patching you up. Once he was finished, he straightened up again, finally looked you in the eyes. He’d never wanted to see you hurt, and while he hadn’t been the one to hurt you, he still felt responsible for it.
“Thank you, Eddie…” You managed as you got up from the chair, not breaking eye contact with him. “For all of this, really.”
“Yeah… You really need to be more careful, y/n. You’re putting yourself in danger! Being adventurous and wanting to try new things is one thing, but that was just so…”
“Reckless, I know.” You sighed, because he’d already told you that.
“Exactly.” Eddie leaned back against the counter, gripping it with his hands so that he wouldn’t reach out and pull you against his chest like he wanted to. “What if they came home early? You know how many guns the Wallaces have?”
For a moment, you were silent. You hadn’t considered that, if you were honest, because they were out at a party, so you’d been sure that they wouldn’t get home anytime soon. But in the end, Eddie was right.
“And going there all by yourself… You really had me worried!” Scared even, but he wouldn’t say that out loud.
“Sorry.”
“Sorry doesn’t cut it, sweetheart.” He pushed away from the counter again, taking a step towards you. “Promise me that you won’t ever do anything that stupid again. At least not alone. Call me if you need a partner in crime.” At least then he’d make sure that she’d come out of these kinds of situations in one piece.
A smile tugged at the corners of your lips for the first time since you’d met this night.
“Alright… Promise!” You held out your hand for him to take, and he did, finally giving you one of those dazzling smiles that made your knees weak. “And sorry about… not telling you the truth about tonight.” You quickly let go of his hand again and bit down on your bottom lip. It wasn’t a nice topic to talk about, but you felt like you had to address it.
“Considering what you’ve been up to tonight, I get why you didn’t tell me the truth.”
“Still doesn’t make it okay.” An apologetic smile appeared on your lips. “Let me make it up to you. Dinner and a movie at my place, and I’ll even cook for you.”
“You’re not trying to poison me, are you?”
“Excuse me, I am an excellent cook! Mum will be out tomorrow night again, so I have the kitchen to myself.”
Eddie took his time to consider your offer, but then he nodded with a grin. “Alright. I’ll have to check up on your arm anyway.”
“It’s a date!” Your smile grew even wider as your heart started beating faster, harder in your chest, the excitement already growing.
“Come on, I’ll take you home.” Eddie held out his hand for you and you took it, even though you’d much rather stay. But you needed to get home, before your Mum woke up and realised that you were gone.”The pups can stay here for now until we figure something out.” You’d probably have to talk to the police about this, tell them that you found them or something, but that was a problem for the future, not for right now.
“That would be great… Mum would probably freak out if I took them home.” Oh, she most definitely would, so it was good that Eddie was taking care of them for now. They were in safe hands.
Eddie got you home safe and stopped two houses down from yours so that your mother wouldn’t hear the car, but he didn’t let you go on your own. No, he walked you to your house once again to make sure that nothing happened on the way or you had another stupid idea.
“Thanks Eddie. I’ll see you tomorrow then,” you said with a grin before you walked up to the garage and tried to climb up there.
“What are you doing?” Eddie watched your unsuccessful attempts with a smirk, before he stepped up to you. It hurt too much to use your injured arm and you needed both to pull yourself up there. “Let me help.”
Eddie carefully manoeuvred you to the side so that he could climb up first. He leaned down and reached out both arms for you so that he could pull you up, careful to put his hands on your upper arm so that he wouldn’t put pressure on your wound.
“You’re really my saviour tonight, Munson,” you said with a quiet laugh.
“I’m at your service, princess.” he bowed low, before he helped you walk up to your window, making sure that nothing else happened and you could climb in through the window without any trouble.
Your bedroom looked nice, Eddie had to admit. No bright pink colours, no ruffles everywhere, instead, you had pale green wallpapers, lots of photos on your walls, a framed movie poster of Back to the Future on one wall, and there was a guitar next to your drawer. He’d have to ask you about that tomorrow.
“Tomorrow at seven?” you said leaning out of the window, getting his attention again.
“Seven it is.” Eddie grinned, happy that you would finally have that first date, though he had to say, even though tonight had been kind of chaotic, it had felt a little bit like a date to him. An accidental date maybe.
“I’m looking forward to it.” You looked at him a moment too long, which was probably what made you more confident right now. So you leaned forward, placed your hand on his cheek and kissed him. A sweet, sensual kiss that made that tingling sensation travel from your lips down to the pit of your stomach. You had to pull back, had to leave it at that, or you would have pulled him inside with you. Not today.
“Good night, Munson,” you whispered against his lips, before you dropped your hand and closed the window between the two of you. Eddie looked a little stunned, dazed even, but then this gave way to a wide grin.
“Good night!” he mouthed to you through the closed window and took a few steps back. He slipped and nearly fell, but was able to stay unharmed. The little wave he gave you along with the grin before he hopped down from the roof made you giggle. Yeah… you were really looking forward to tomorrow night. So much that it was hard to fall asleep that night, but when you did, you were still smiling because of Eddie.

This Kiss
Reader has never been kissed and she's looking for candidates at a party but Eddie rejects them all and scares them off even before they're talking with the reader. After the party, he shyly announces his candidacy for her first kiss @saramelaniemoon 💖
Warnings; Reader is over 18, Fluff, protective Eddie, slightly jealous Eddie, friends to lovers.
I don't give anyone permission to copy my work.
If you enjoyed this then please consider giving it a reblog it is much appreciated 💖
💖
Telling Eddie her biggest secret was nerve-wracking. She knew he would never judge her, and he would be so supportive but she was still anxious.
"Sweetheart? What's the big secret? I'm thinking all sorts here" shit! now he looks worried so she just comes right out with it.
"I've never been kissed and I would like for it to happen" he states at her stunned.
"Never?" he gapes and she nods feeling flustered which he notices straight away.
"Never" she confirms.
"So you want to kiss the right guy, I'll help you find the right guy. He will have to be someone incredible though to be good enough for my princess"
His princess... she tries to ignore the butterflies in her stomach but it's hard because Eddie was so handsome and sweet to her.
They had just recently became really close friends and she didn't want to jeopardize anything by admitting she felt... more than friendly feelings for him.
What if he didn't feel the same and he was just being kind? She didn't want to take that risk, the embarrassment of being rejected, and then trying to pretend that it didn't hurt so she could still have Eddie in her life.
"Well, there's the party that Chrissy is throwing tomorrow. We could go to that? Scope up any candidates" she suggests and he nods.
"It's a date! Uh... I mean not a date like that" she stammers and inwardly curses herself for being so awkward around him.
He smiles though and squeezes her hand to let her know that he gets it.
"Tomorrow it is"
💖💖
Chrissy's party was one of the biggest of the year and since her parents, were away on a business trip everyone was attending.
It was also the party after graduation so it was anticipated by everyone and Chrissy had invited her and Eddie.
It was her first big party and she was excited.
At first, it was a little stifling, so many people crammed inside and out, the loud music blaring in her ears but she was determined to stick it out.
She had a reason for being here after all.
Operation First Kiss, yeah it was a kinda dorky name but this was just between her and Eddie who was staying close to her and handed her a beer.
"Okay, so candidates?" she prompted Eddie and tried to not notice how hot he looked in his leather jacket, black shirt, and black jeans.
Eddie wasn't very forthcoming so she looked around the room while sipping her beer.
"Okay, how about David, cute, nerdy guy? Standing over there beside Nancy. Think he works with her on the school paper" Eddie gives the guy a once over and shakes his head.
"Nope" she stares at him amused.
"Why not?" he shrugs and proceeds to drink his beer. Yeah, valid argument there Eddie.
She grins as she spots Jason and purely to wind Eddie up she points to him.
"I guess Carver is like a definite no then?" he almost chokes on the beer and glares at her and she looks back at him with a perfectly innocent expression.
"Oh ha ha" he murmurs sarcastically and she cuddles into him just for a second.
"I'm only teasing Eddie. I would never, he's a douchenozzle" Eddie snorts and whispers around his breath.
"Douchenozzle" he looks proud, he should be he's the one who taught her it.
They are so lost in their laughter that she doesn't notice one of the basketball players sidle up to her looking very interested.
"Hey?" he gets her attention and she smiles at him. His name was Danny and she knew he was very nice, Lucas liked him a lot.
"Hi"
"Are you enjoying the party?" he asks her and she shrugs.
"I'm not really one for parties but Chrissy invited us and she's really lovely so I thought why not?" at the mention of us he looks over to Eddie and pales.
She isn't sure why until she turns to Eddie and notices that his eyes are flashing dangerously and he does not look happy.
"Oh, I think I hear one of my friends calling me, got to go" Danny scurries off and she rounds on Eddie whose dark expression immediately soften. Now he's the one trying to look innocent.
"Eddie! What was that? We are trying to scope out potential candidates. Not scare them away. Danny is nice, Lucas likes him and says he's not a jerk like Jason"
Eddie gives her one of those heart-melting grins of his-all dimples and she sighs.
"Sorry sweetheart. You know how protective I am of you and I just want you to find a good guy"
Okay, she agrees and it was sweet of him to want her to find the perfect guy. Now it was on to the next one.
💖💖
Out of five other candidates she had found Eddie liked precisely none of them.
"He's far too into himself princess," he said about one of her picks.
The other was "A total butthead"
Even when she mentioned that maybe Gareth could be an option and worth considering as he was Eddie's best friend and all and was a great guy, Eddie swore and shook his head.
"No way, absolutely not princess" she is beyond exasperated by now.
"He's your best friend. You like him, what's wrong with him?"
"Nothing but it's still a no sweetheart" she huffs and Eddie offers to get her another beer when she sees Steve join the party with Robin and she has an eureka moment.
"I've got it," she says excitedly as Eddie comes back. He looks at her wary.
"What?"
"Steve, he is kind, handsome, sweet, and surely you have nothing against him right?" she implores and Eddie swallows and stakes his head.
"No, he's a great dude" he murmurs and fiddles with his rings, something she knows he does when he's anxious.
Almost immediately the idea disapatates quick.
"He's still crazy in love with Nancy though and I adore Nancy so that's not the best idea" is it her imagination or does Eddie relax after she says it?
Considering the party a failure she turns to Eddie and pouts.
"Did you make any more of that amazing mac and cheese Eds? This party is a bust and I'd rather be relaxing at yours" he brightens.
"Lead the way milady"
💖💖
Once they are back at his she is a little put out things never went how she thought they would.
"What a let down the party was. All those guys and every one was a fail" well mostly according to Eddie.
"There's still one guy left," Eddie tells her, and she feels her stomach fill with butterflies as his big brown eyes go all soft and he looks so shy which was a rarity.
"I'd like to put forth my candidacy"
Her jaw drops because she didn't expect this but then it suddenly clicks into place why he was so protective, how no one was good enough.
The only guy he wanted kissing her was himself. The butterflies intensify and she takes his hand.
"Eddie.. why didn't you say before?" she asks softly and he touches her cheek.
"I've always thought your were incredible. Beautiful. I like you a lot sweetheart, I've fallen for you hard"
"Oh, Eddie, I've been falling for you too. I wish you had said something sooner, would have saved us both a lot of pining" he grins.
"Yeah no shit" he teases and then he moves closer as does she and before she knows it they are kissing.
It's slow at first and very gentle. Tender, Eddie wraps his arms around her and holds her close.
They break away both grinning goofily. It was her first kiss and the first of millions more to come with Eddie.

Hold Me Closer, Tiny Dancer
also on ao3
TW// TW// Steve gets drugged in this story, there's attempted rape, nothing explicit but the themes are present. Please protect yourself and do not read if this is going to trigger or upset you in anyway.
Eddie had been sitting at the bar, mindlessly tapping his fingers along with the song that played over the speakers. Robin had told him about the bar a few weeks ago, a safe place y'know? And he finally worked up the courage to go.
He was playing it cool, came alone to check out the scene.
He’d just gotten a refill when he spotted him. There on the dance floor, in all his glory, was Steve Harrington, just, going to town. He was swaying his hips, and he was actually… Good.
Eddie would look like a total idiot if he tried to go out there like that but with Steve, it looked beautiful, natural almost. And the outfit he was wearing just accentuated it all. Short, tight cutoffs and a flowy crop top that looked like it came out of Nancy’s closet. Honestly, he wouldn’t be that surprised if it did come out of her closet.
The song was over almost as quick as it started and the sensual movements were over, Eddie felt disappointed, almost. Based on the cheering from the bartender and the other patrons, this dance moment was a regular occurrence.
“He’s good isn’t he?” The voice startled him out of his trance, “Uh, what?” He said, ever so eloquent. The bartender smirked, “He’s a good dancer, right? He comes almost every Friday night and just… Lets loose. It’s kind of admirable.” She smiled in Steve’s direction. They watched as the patrons surrounded Steve, a few being more aggressive with their grabs and cheers, and Eddie darkened. He turned back to the bartender who also had a sour look on her face, “Yeah. That’s been happening a lot. We’ve had to walk him out to his car on more than one occasion. We’ve even banned a few people for the way they treat him. I feel bad. I don’t even know his name.”
Eddie sighed, “It’s Steve,” The bartender raised her eyebrow, “You’re not some kind of stalker are you?” Eddie laughed, “No, no. We’ve got mutual friends, and we’re… acquaintances.” The bartender laughed, “So, that means you guys are dancing around the feelings y’all have for each other, right?” Eddie blushed at that, she got it just by talking to him for five minutes, was he really that obvious?
Steve caught his eye and waved excitedly, “Eddie! Hey!” He cheered, walking his way towards the bar, “Your usual honey?” The bartender asked to which Steve nodded enthusiastically. Steve got his drink, and they talked for a minute, small talk, nothing of substance. “I’m gonna go mingle, see ya later Eds!”
And then Eddie didn’t see him for a while, but when he did… Something was very, very wrong.
He watched carefully as a guy draped Steve’s languid body over him, as he got closer, Eddie could see the way his pupils were blown wide, and the lazy smile on his face. He tensed as the guy practically carried Steve out the front door. He followed them quickly, making it to the parking lot just as the guy reached his car. Steve seemed to recognize him in his haze, slumped against the car, “Eddieeeee, heyyyy.” It was dragged out and weak. The guy glared at him, “Look pal, I don’t care if you guys talked earlier, he’s mine, so move along.” The guy made a shoo-ing motion, hushing Steve harshly when he let out a whimper. “You’re holding my arm too tight, it hurts,” He weakly pushed the guy's hand away, Eddie got closer, and the guy puffed up at him. “Steve. Do you want to go with this douche?” Steve shook his head, “I don’t feel good, I wanna go home Eds.” The guy shoved at Eddie’s shoulder, making him stumble “I’m taking him home, so back off ‘Eds’.”
Oh, so this guy wanted a fight. He pushed Eddie around, postured up, and obviously slipped something in Steve’s drink, so yeah. He was gonna get a fight. The douchebag released his grip on Steve, causing him to fall against the asphalt, groaning at the impact.
After the upside down, Eddie took it upon himself to learn how to fight, and the guy being drunk off his ass, would go down like a sack of potatoes with one punch. So they postured, Eddie let the guy get comfortable, land a few hits, before he reared back and punched him square in the jaw. The guy hit the ground, knocking his head on the curb as he fell. He was out cold, Eddie couldn’t bring himself to care.
He picked Steve up from his spot on the ground, “You okay, baby?” Steve whimpered but nodded, Eddie pressed a kiss to his temple, and set him in his van. He locked Steve inside, before heading back into the bar to let the bartender know what happened. “He’s out front passed out on the curb so you know who to look for.” The bartender sighed sadly, and nodded, “Looks like another ban, go take care of Stevie, okay?” Eddie nodded curtly and jogged back to his van.
By the time he got there Steve was asleep, leaning against the window, curled up in the seat. Eddie sighed as he got into the van, staring at Steve for a minute before starting it up and making his way home.
He carried Steve bridal style into the trailer, Wayne casting a glance at him before sighing, “Oh, Eddie.” Eddie scoffed, “I didn’t do anything, Wayne, I saved him from some asshole who drugged him, okay?” Wayne shook his head. “I have no doubts that you did, son. Always had a soft spot for the strays.” He hummed, turning back to the flickering TV. “Make sure to keep him on his side, son.” Wayne called as Eddie walked back into his bedroom.
Eddie laughed softly, “And I’m the one with the soft spot, huh, old man?” He asked quietly, more to himself than anyone else.
—--
When Steve woke up, he didn’t know where he was, he thrashed about in the bed before finding his bearings and prepared to sneak out of whoever’s house he was in. He sat up and took in his surroundings, he knows this place, Eddie’s trailer. He remembers seeing Eddie at the bar last night… Did he? No. Eddie wouldn’t do that. Just then Eddie walked into the room, Steve failing to hold back a flinch. “Oh, Stevie.” “Uh, what. How did I get here?” Eddie smiled sadly, “Someone dropped something in your drink last night, baby.” He said softly, watching as Steve’s eyes cast downwards and well up with tears, “Not again,” He whimpered. “This has happened before?” Eddie asked, keeping his tone soft, Steve nodded, “Usually the bartender finds me before anything happens.” Eddie sighed, brushing the hair off Steve’s forehead.
“Thanks for taking care of me last night, Eddie.”
“Always, Stevie. Now that I’m here, I’ll always take care of you.”
And he kept his promise, attending every dance session, walking out with him, arms wrapped around each other's waists, always holding his drink, never letting him out of his sight. They took care of each other, until it involved into something a little bit more, something a little softer. It was good for them, and soon Steve’s solo dance sessions turned into couples dance sessions. Maybe Eddie was a little awkward and floppy, but Steve wouldn’t haven’t any other way. They wouldn’t have it any other way.
