Bot Buddy the Autobot who’s unexpected Conjux is Soundwave

SFW, mentions of injury but not specified, platonic, romantic, Cybertronian/ Bot reader

Autobot Buddy and Soundwave were Conjux Endura shortly before the war broke out, they never made the relationship public. There was too much at risk, especially when tensions on both sides heightened.

Tension between them both rose when discussing which side was better to side with.

“What will it be then? Its clear we both can’t agree on a side. What do we do?”--Soundwave

“… we join different sides.”--Buddy

“What?”--Soundwave

“We join different sides.”--Buddy

“Yes I heard that but—”--Soundwave

“We do that. We pick a side in the war. We stay alive for each other and when someone win, we vouch for the other to come join peacefully.”--Buddy

“…it sounds like a good plan…but what about Us, Buddy? I’m concern on what will happen to Us in this war.”--Soundwave

“Don’t worry. We will be fine, as long as we have the bond, as long as we have each other alive, we will be fine. Just take care of yourself and the mini’s, can you do that?”--Buddy

“I will and…I trust you Buddy… I love you so much, my Spark.”

“I love you too Soundwave… Now and beyond the Allspark.”—Buddy

Buddy went off and joined the Autobot’s and Soundwave and the minicon’s joined the Decepticon’s. Never once telling anyone of their relationship, they promised each the other their safety and they were going to keep it.

Soundwave had set up a private link between them to keep in contact.

“Hey…”--Buddy

“Hello…”--Soundwave

“How was work today? Are you feeling, okay?”--Buddy

“Work was… adequate… and yours?”--Soundwave

“Things are getting harder I’m not going to lie… I miss you…”--Buddy

“…I miss you too…”--Soundwave

“Tell Buddy I said hi!”--Frenzy

“Frenzy!”--Soundwave

“Tell them we all miss them!”--Lazerbeak

“Lazerbeak enough—”--Soundwave

“…”--Ravage

“…”--Soundwave

“…Frenzy, Lazerbeak and Ravage say hello…”--Soundwave

It got harder to keep contact as the war grew longer, especially when both factions came to Earth. Suddenly it was just radio silence from Soundwave. Buddy was upset and concern at the lack of radio response but there was nothing they could do now without drawing too much attention to the both.

“Hey Soundwave? Are you listening? Things have gotten out of control at HQ… its almost funny…”--Buddy

A few days later…

“Soundwave? Are you here? Listen can you give me some sort of sign that your okay? Are the mini’s okay? Please answer as soon as you can.”--Buddy

A few days later…

“Soundwave… please… any sound would do… please just let me know you’re okay… love you, now and beyond the Allspark…”--Buddy

Buddy meets the Terrans and Maltos and they are both delighted and horrified that there’s literal sparkling’s running around with other children in a sketchy base.

“Buddy these are the Maltos and the Terrans I was talking to you about.”--Optimus

“Hi!”--Terrans and Maltos

“…Prime, Megatron, Elita-One… Mind explaining to me why there are literal Sparklings running around!?--Buddy

“Well—”--Megatron

“You know what I don’t. C’mere kids let me introduce myself.”--Buddy

They don’t trust GHOST at all and refuse to wear a GHOST badge. Buddy wears their Autobot badge proudly. They agree with Megatron in advocating for better treatment of “prisoners”. It’s one of the few things they can agree on.

“This isn’t right. Even if they are Decepticon’s, they don’t deserve to be treated like this.”--Buddy

“I agree. Something needs to be done about this.”--Megatron

“…Can’t believe I just agreed with you on something.”—Buddy

Besides agreeing to protect Dot and her family at all costs. They try to visit the Terrans and Maltos as much as possible. It was such a regular occurrence that they got their own bunk in the Dugout.

“Kids? What’s all this?”--Buddy

“Surprise!”—Terrans and Maltos

“Woah! What’s is this?”--Buddy

“Well, you’ve been coming over so much and staying almost regularly now. We all decided to make you your own place here!”--Robie

Yeah, now you don’t have to go back to the base and we can have even more sleepovers!”--Mo

“…”—Buddy

“Do you not like it?”--Thrash

“…”--Buddy

“Maybe it’s the color?”—Nightshade

“…”--Buddy

“No can’t be that.”--Twitch

“Maybe it needs another pillow?”--Jawbreaker

“…”--Buddy

“How about another family portrait?”--Hashtag

“Wait guys hold it.”--Robie

“Buddy? Are you crying—”--Mo

“THIS HAS TO BE ONE OF THE NICEST THINGS ANYONE HAS DONE IN A LONG TIME! I LOVE YOU ALL!!”—Buddy

Things were going great for Buddy. Enough to occupy their mind from the pain in their spark. One mission got them hurt really bad. They refused to go to GHOST for medical attention.

“I’d rather have Starscream scream in my audials for an hour than set a foot near GHOST.”

Now they were at the Dugout fighting to stay conscious. Due to the power of plot convenience, they need a jumpstart their spark, which would be possible if they weren’t bonded. Being bonded meant that the other that was bonded would have to jump them with a shock through their spark bond. Which would be great but Buddy won’t tell.

“Wheeljack what needs to happen? I feel like I’m dying here.”--Buddy

“Dying!?”—Mo/Robie

“Wrong choice of words. My bad kids.”--Buddy

“Well since you’re bonded, that means that your Sparkmate need make the jump with you. So now the only thing we need to know is the Sparkmate.”--Wheeljack

“…Yeah that’s not going to happen.”--Buddy

“What?”--Wheeljack

“Buddy, did you understand what Wheeljack said? You are going to die if your Sparkmate doesn’t come an do the jump. We don’t know who it is, you need to tell us!”--Dot

“…sorry Dot…but like I said, that’s not going to happen.”--Buddy

Buddy made a dumb promise but they are sure going to keep the last thing they had with Soundwave. Optimus, Bumblebee, Arcee, Grimlock, and Elita are trying to remember if Buddy had mentioned their Conjux before in their ranks.

“Lets see… Ironhide?”--Optimus

“Nope.”--Bumblebee

“… Cliffjumper?”—Elita-One

“No.”-- Bumblebee

“Maybe its Jazz.”--Grimlock

“No.”—Bumblebee

“Gears? Ratchet?”—Arcee

“No cant be either of them.”--Bumblebee

“Okay then what’s your idea then?”--Arcee

“…Prowl?”--Bumblebee

“NO!”—Optimus/Elita/Grimlock/Arcee

Wheeljack and Megatron are trying to look through the database of Teletran 1 for any alternative to the medical procedure.

Meanwhile the Terrans are trying to tend to every need Buddy has to the best of their ability.

Robbie and Mo are at both sides of Buddy’s head rubbing it softly as they wince from time to time from the pain.

“C’mon Buddy. Can’t you just tell us?”--Robie

“Please Buddy. Please?”--Mo

“Sorry—urgh—kiddos. No can do.”--Buddy

It’s Alex who brings up the possibility of Buddy’s Conjux not being an Autobot at all.

“I mean what if Buddy’s significant other isn’t an Autobot at all? What if they are human or a Decepticon? Relationship between factions have definitely happened before right?”--Alex

There’s silence and its being considered. Buddy groaning in pain breaks the silence. Megatron heavily considers it, suddenly wondering how many of his own troops entered interfraction relationships.

“No, they—”--Megatron

Suddenly remembers Deadlock and how he would always single out Ratchet in many battles.

“…You know it might be possible…”--Megatron

Megatron asks Hashtag to send a specific message through a cryptic frequency and starts heading out of the Dugout. Dot, Optimus, and Bumblebee follow him, meanwhile the rest stayed to monitor and look for other cures just in case.

Megatron, Dot, Optimus, and Bumblebee reached a clearing a bit far from the house. Not a moment too soon, Soundwave came into view and transformed in front of them deploying Frenzy, Ravage and Lazerbeak standing their ground. The Autobots reach for their weapons, but Megatron tells them to lower them and takes a step forward towards Soundwave.

“Soundwave.”--Megatron

“Megatron. What is the meaning of this traitor?”--Soundwave

“We need your help.”--Megatron

“Give me one good reason to help you.”--Soundwave

“For old time sake, one favor.”--Megatron

“…What is it?”--Soundwave

“We need to know any Decepticon’s who have Conjux Endura’s—”--Megatron

“That is out of the question. You do not have the right to know about their affairs.”--Soundwave

“So, you do know?”—Megaton

“Of course, but I will not tell you.”--Soundwave

“Soundwave—”--Optimus

“Save it Prime!”--Frenzy

Soundwave turns to leave with his minicons, which is when Dot snaps. She wasn’t about to lose a dear friend like this, no not like this.

“Buddy’s dying!”—Dot

This statement stops the Decepticon’s right in their tracks.

“Listen, they don’t have much time. They got hurt real bad last mission. They need their Conjux to help them with the medical procedure.”--Dot

“We don’t know who they are Soundwave. Buddy will not tell us who they are. I will not lose anymore bots when we have a fighting chance. Right now, you are our only way of finding them. Without your help they are going to die.”— Optimus

“Soundwave we wouldn’t be asking you for anything if it weren’t dire. We don’t have the luxury of time because that is something Buddy doesn’t have right now! So, are you going to help or not?”—Bumblebee

The mini’s are looking at their boss in some sort of desperation before Soundwave transforms and agrees to help.

Everyone was ready to move to another location but were surprised when Soundwave asked where Buddy was. That’s when the other realized the shocking truth. Soundwave was Buddy’s Conjux.

They arrive at the Dugout and enter its doors. The Terrans are immediately on guard seeing Soundwave, especially when Buddy yelps in pain squeezing their optics close not knowing who was in the room.

“Freeze!”--Twitch

“Calm down he is here to help Buddy.”--Megatron

“What so is he—”-- Thrash

“Yes.”—Megatron

Soundwave had never felt so much regret of not contacting his Conjux for so long than that moment. He calls to them, this causes Buddy’s optics to snap open in disbelief.

“Buddy…”--Soundwave

“—urgh—Soundwave?”—Buddy

The mini’s came out and started shooing everyone out of the room. Wheeljack gives Soundwave quick instructions on how to do the jump starting before also exiting the room.

Now it’s just Buddy and Soundwave

Soundwave is getting the equipment ready when Buddy calls him over and apologizes for bringing him here where he and the mini’s could get captured. Soundwave finishes setting up the equipment and grabs Buddy’s servo as the process began.

“I’m sorry—”--Buddy

“I apologize—”--Soundwave

“You can go first.”--Soundwave

“I’m sorry for getting you into this mess, you and the mini’s.”--Buddy

“Apology not needed. I should be the one apologizing. If I’d had known… If I had kept in contact…”--Soundwave

“…Can we just forgive each other? I don’t want my last moments here to be just pointless apologizes on childish things we both did.”--Buddy

“You’re not going to die. Not when I have a say in it, my spark. I… I missed you, my spark.”--Soundwave

“I love you too, now and beyond the Allspark.”—Buddy

They both begin talking and catching up on some things. Before they knew it, the procedure had finished, and Buddy was going to make a full recovery.

After the procedure was done, they both walked out servo in servo. The mini’s as it turned out had told the Team a bit about their relationship.

“Yeah, so one time Soundwave thought it was a good idea to fly with Buddy around sunset. But he didn’t know that—”--Lazerbeak

“Lazerbeak.”--Soundwave

“Soundwave! Buddy!”—Frenzy

Everyone there was shocked by the story, but they eventually got over the shock. The longest one to come out of the shock is Megatron. He feels guilty and so blind. How could he not have seen this coming, especially from Soundwave?

Soundwave lets Buddy have one more squeeze before getting the mini’s in his chest compartment. He turns to leave, but he stopped after hearing Dot’s voice.

“You can stay the night here? I think it would be good for Buddy if they knew you were here.”--Dot

“And if you are worried about GHOST, their radar doesn’t come by here. It’s perfectly safe.”—Megatron

He pauses for a minute. Looks back at Buddy and then the setting sun. one night wouldn’t hurt, right? He turns to Megatron stating that if this was a trap, that there would not be a planet he could go to hide from him. With that he swooped in and carried Buddy bridal style and marches into the Dugout as he deployed his mini cons to have fun on the farm.

Meanwhile Soundwave and Buddy cuddled on one of the medical slabs all night long.

Finding out:

I think pptimus would find out when reader invites him to come with her for a check up with ratchet.

He would be confused and worried.

Once there, he will find out reader is sparked (pregnant).

Dude, optimus would freeze and stop working.

Like, this dude has seen some shit from this war but he was NOT prepared for that.

When he finally came down to earth, he was super happy for reader, but also scared, also excided, also worried, also sick, ya he was having mixed emotions.

Once he calmed down he was super happy that he will be a sire(father).

(Even though he raised bumblebee)

Pregnant faze

Optimus would not, and I mean not, send reader out of the base.

Optimus was very protective of reader because a sparkling was a rare sight.

He would not let anything happen to reader.

Even though he was super portecrive, he was good at taking care of reader.

Always getting something they wanted, helped them when there tank got to big from the sparkling, there on there emotion changes, even cuddle them. (Even if the sparkling kicks them.)

Megatron

Finding out

I think megatron would find out when reader finds out.

Like, they where on the battle field and reader got hurt. So they went to the medbay.

Knockout scanned them and congratulate them on their sparkling.

Ya, reader and Megatron stopped working.

After they come back down to earth, megatron is happy.

He has a child!

He will also remmber why they are in the medbay in the first place and yell at reader for putting themselves and their sparkling in danger.

Pregnancy

During the pregnancy, Soundwave is readers new body guard.

Anything reader needs, wants, help, anything. Soundwave helps them if megatron ain't there.

Megatron also forbids reader to leave the battle ship.

Megatron will make every decptiocn on the warship treat reader as a queen.

Porgect reader at all cost.

Megatron has a new reason to win the war.

I can see megatron being really fucking annoyed at night though, like, him trying to sleep next to reader and then gets hit in the grind by the sparkling inside of readers tank.

My God that is the best description of him ever. His armor is 100% to big and his sword is to long at he's at the age where he has started getting voice cracks. My lord- what if instead of the bat kids it's it's JL that summons him because they need magical help with something. They are expecting the big and scary Phara Dark but no. It's this scrawny kid who says, "oh yeah there was a change in management a few months ago. I beat him in single combat because he was threatening to destroy my home-" He pushes up the crown that feel in his eyes, "and by right of conquest I am the new Ghost King. Well, I will be in a few years. CW says I can't fully take the thrown until I turn 18. Anyways why am-" pushes crown up, "I here?"

Aaaa that's too cute. Danny is just very confused and almost every single JL member unanimously agrees that they are going to protect this kid at all costs.

One of the good things about the oversized clothing is that it makes people underestimate Danny when he still is extremely fucking powerful. Like a bunch of parademons attack earth and Danny just stands, his cloak now floating in a nonexistent wind, his eyes turning fully green, whites and all, and his eyes glowing with a green aura so bright that it's almost blinding. He gently cups his hands around his mouth and whispers "begone" Black Bolt style. The responding soundwaves tear the parademons into shreds.

Yeah the JLA doesn't underestimate him after that.

Some of my Favorite Winx Club ships (cannon and non cannon)

Cannon: 1: Musa/Riven (Rivusa)

#1 Rivusa defender even whilst being 6 feet under in my grave. These two have ALWAYS been my fav couple (even when I was lil kid.) I just love them so much. Sure, they had their bad times but they've also had plenty of good ones too. I'm going to stop myself there because if I type any further about these two I'm going to end up making this post much more longer than it needs to be😭

2: Flora/Helia (Floreila)

If I don't have a relationship like Flora and Helia's then I don't want it. Seriously, these two are so adorable. Helia literally worships the ground Flora walks on. Their relationship is so healthy and just overall green flags everywhere. And back in s2 when they were crushing on each other was the cutest omg, they're both so pure and full of love.

3: Stella/Brandon (Brella)

The trust that these two have for each other in this relationship is so beautiful. Brandon and Stella compliment each other PERFECTLY. They both would sacrifice themselves at any costs for each other. They have such a beautiful and selfless bond, always willing to protect one another.

Non cannon: 1: Musa/Layla/Aisha (Soundwave)

Layla had a big fat crush on Musa during seasons 2-3, and NO ONE will EVER change my mind. I already hc Layla as a lesbian too (don't get me wrong her and Nabu were awesome but I think that they'd be better off as friends/a platonic pairing. )They'd both be such a healthy couple and they had soo much chemistry. They'd both be extremely supportive of each others goals and dreams. They were literally each other's comfort person throughout s2-3. They care about each other so much. Plus, we need more POC wlw representation in media.

2: Lucy/Mirta (Unsure of their ship name)

They're gfs your honor, that's all I have to say.

3: Faragonda/Griffin (Unsure of their ship name)

WIVES.

4: Palladium/Avalon (Unsure of their ship name 😭)

They had more chemistry than Bloom and Sky ever did 🙄(Sorry, not sorry Bloom/Sky shippers) Also, idgaf what the comics say yall.

Any ideas on how Beast Hunters Optimus would act in the sparkling AU?

Would he fly around with Miko or tiptoe around them instead, worried about his now larger frame?

How hard would his disappearance and the destruction of the base hit?

Ah yes, the angst and fluff potential in this is spectacular. Don't mind me, but I am starting with the angst for the sake of the timeline.

Born Anew

The location of the base being given away took the whole team by surprise. Their first instincts were to blame Starscream and Soundwave, but then again, the duo would never harm the sparklings. But as the timer till Megatron launched his attack on the base ticked down, choices had to be made and there was no time to point fingers.

The sparklings didn't understand what was happening when Optimus burst into their play room and grabbed them, making a b-line for the groundbridge. Rafael cried as he was passed off to Ratchet and Bumblebee, the only other mecha Optimus trusted to take care of his youngest son. Miko shrieked in concern as Optimus pressed a kiss to her helm and handed her to Bulkhead to care for. And Jack looked up at Optimus in dawning horror as the Prime caressed his face and handed him over to Arcee. All the while Smokescreen looked distraught beyond words as Optimus took a shaky vent and activated the groundbridge.

No words needed to be said as Optimus took up the star saber and stood still as stone. The team knew what he intended to do and they wept internally. More than one considered trying to stop him, but with their precious charges... they couldn't object to Optimus's choice. The sparklings needed to be protected at all costs. They couldn't lose what could possibly be the last sparklings ever to be brought into creation.

However before the team were sent away, Optimus gave Ratchet the relic that had turned the children into sparklings originally. His only command once he handed it off being one that haunted the whole team.

Optimus: If the worst comes to worst... do not let him have my sparklings... turn them back, destroy the relic, and give them to June.

Ratchet: Optimus, what in the Allspark are you saying?

Optimus: Please Ratchet... he will do unspeakable things to them if he is allowed to have them. I will not stand for it. I would rather they are forced to endure the lives they had previously if it means they will be free of him.

Arcee: Sir, it will kill them!

Bulkhead: Miko almost died the last time she was returned to human form!

Bumblebee: Please reconsider! We already lost them once!

Optimus: I know. But I would rather death embrace them then have Megatron claim them as his own.

The team were shaken as Optimus sent them off. Arcee held Jack in her arms and saluted with saddened optics and gritted denta as the Prime knelt and pressed a final kiss to Jack's helm. The eldest of his sparklings cried and sniffled as Optimus pulled away muttering reassurances that they would meet again even though the whole team could feel that Optimus himself believed it to be a lie. Bulkhead struggled to maintain his composure and did his best to stand strong as Optimus wrapped his field around Miko, drowning her in his love and affection which only served to make her cry harder. Ratchet didn't even bother to pretend to be strong, shaking and crying out in grief at a pitch too high for the human ear. Optimus wrapped his oldest friend and consequently Rafael up in the most loving hug he could manage before allow Rafael to grab his digit with his small servos. It nearly broke the Prime's spark to pull away and wrap Bumblebee in what was likely to be the last hug he would ever give him.

Smokecreen was the last to leave, rushing into Optimus's arms one last time. Optimus had not raised him, but the Prime was more of a Sire to him than any other had been. His frame shook in sorrow before Optimus pushed him away at the sound of close gunfire. It pained Smokescreen greatly as he gave his commander and father figure one last salute and sped through the ground bridge.

Bumblebee and the sparklings all wailed when the base went up in flames. Rafael screamed, crying out in his small voice and completely inconsolable as Ratchet dragged him and Bumblebee to a scrapyard to hide. Miko shrieked and clawed at Bulkhead, flailing and activating her small thrusters with wild abandon in an attempt to get to Optimus in response to her bond with him feeling like it had snapped. And the moment the bond shut off, Jack went nuts, even being so bad as to have Arcee scruff him and then knock him out even though she hated doing so. At the same time Bumblebee curled up in a ball in the corner of the scrap yard refusing to move for around a day as he wept in the absence of his bond to Optimus.

Unbeknownst to the team, Smokescreen went back for Optimus and hid him away, doing as he asked and sneaking onto the Nemesis to retrieve the forge. All the while the team gathered together, joining Ultra Magnus to discuss what was to be done.

Ratchet wanted to give up and die, only refusing to do so because of Rafael and the solemn duty Optimus had given him should the worst come to worst. Arcee and Bulkhead wanted to fight or go down trying, they couldn't stand idly by while the one who killed their Prime lived on. And Bumblebee... he was practically feral with rage, his grief having been shoved aside in favor of wrath. The sparklings as a general rule wept and made a fuss, refusing fuel and comfort in a vain attempt to get Optimus back. It broke the sparks of all those present to watch Rafael cry, Miko claw at her own plating, and Jack cling protect his siblings so fiercely that he would not accept energon. At that point, Ratchet brought up the possibility of using the relic again, much to the team's overall distaste.

Ultra Magnus: We cannot be hasty with this decision Ratchet. While hope for victory remains, using the relic is pure foolishness.

Ratchet: That might be so, but what if we fall in battle? Optimus made it clear he would rather the sparklings die than be given over.

Bumblebee: We are NOT going to doom them to a living death. Not so long as I still function! I won't lose them too!

Ratchet: Do you think I find joy in this either?! I don't want them to be condemned to such a fate! But I will respect Optimus's dying wish even if it means extinguishing my own spark to see it happen!

Ultra Magnus: That's enough! Ratchet will remain behind to coordinate us during our attack on darkmount... and should we fail... you have leave to do what you must.

With the plans made, the team moved to use the abandoned space bridge left behind by the Decepticons. During that time, Starscream and Soundwave coordinated and made their own plans. They held little love for the Autobots, but the sparklings were a different matter. They knew the sparklings survived, but the issue lay with finding them and waiting for the perfect opportunity to snatch the sparklings away after the Autobots inevitably failed. It was not ideal, not with Megatron's hatred for the sparklings. But together Soundwave and Starscream were confident they could convince the warlord to let them keep the little ones once victory was at hand...

And so they waited while the team moved out and Smokecreen knelt before his dying Prime.

Optimus: There... will be a new Prime

Smokescreen: Optimus, what are you saying? I have the forge, we can get you to Ratchet and have him patch you up.

Optimus: no... my time has ended... the Matrix will choose its new bearer... and I believe that bearer stands before me right now...

Smokescreen: Optimus, I can't! This- I'm not worthy.

Optimus: Nor was I... but with time, you shall grow to endure the burden... all I ask is that you bear it well and protect the little ones in my stead.

Before Smokescreen could fully process all that had been said, Optimus's spark blazed its last and his optics went dark. And in a desperate bid to save his leader, Smokescreen put the forge in Optimus's lax servo. Next every bot knew, Optimus's bond with his sparklings blazed to life, electing whoops and cries of joy from all of them as he flew with newfound wings and used his upgraded frame to aid in the destruction of darkmount.

It was a time of celebration and tearful reunions once Optimus returned to his team. Bumblebee was the first to embrace him, his door wings shaking in emotion as he clung to his Sire as if there would be no tomorrow. Jack threw himself forward next, crashing into Optimus's legs, knowing that despite the changes, this was his Sire. Miko was next as she flew out of Bulkhead's arms and straight into Optimus's chirping in joy as she nuzzled against his face and held onto him for dear life. And lastly came Rafael who was carried by Ratchet. The minicon squirmed and cooed until he too was in his Sire's arms and able to wrap his cables around them as tightly as he could manage.

The team managed to get a few hugs of their own in, rather emotional ones on Ratchet's part, but for the most part, Optimus's attention was for his young that day and for several after.

Rafael refused to leave his Sire's hold, leading Optimus to let Rafael rest on the back of his jetpack where the sparkling happily curled up, content to remain with his Sire forever. Miko grew clingy, desperate to reaffirm her bonds with Optimus after his near death. Every moment she had with him she preened his new wings, showing him how to do so as best she was able or begging him to fly with her. At the same time Jack grew hyper protective, attacking anything that could be a threat to his Sire. He even went ballistic when Bulkhead dropped a tool a little too close to Optimus for comfort, earning the warbuild sparkling several hours of cuddling to calm down. And Bumblebee, while mostly grown, joined Optimus during recharge, cuddling up against him like a newspark just to remind himself that Optimus lived.

Optimus for his part struggled to adapt to his new frame. He even grew fearful of handling his own sparklings, especially Rafael in light of his sudden boost in strength. He tip-toed around every bot, especially his little ones. He always kept the sparklings in his arms or far away so that he wouldn't harm them unknowingly and it took him several weeks to even begin to grow comfortable with his frame. It took just as long for the sparklings to calm and realize that Optimus was not going anywhere again, although the mental scars still lingered. Optimus had to spend many long nights soothing his sparklings, even Bumblebee in response to nightmares that plagued them. It hurt him to see them so distressed, but the chance to be together again was not one he threw away or took lightly.

Every moment was cherished, and even with his new frame, Optimus took care to spend as much time with his little ones as possible. They deserved his love after all the hurt they went through. And he would never deny them that affection.

Back on this beloved OptiTarn TtSG AU now.

This is a major timeskip with lots of things in between but; eventually the Autobots with Tarn in co-command begin to be much more proactive about hunting Decepticons and what's more, looking to the stars. Optimus and he are firmly on each other's side and have settled into a formal relationship and romantic one at this point having done most of the four acts.

Tarn has brought Optimus a new interest. The Colonies.

The SG!Decepticons are disturbed and horrified. They cannot let the Autobots destroy more worlds after what has been done to their own. Megatron has been incredibly guilty over the damages done by Tarn and listened to the stories told by Soundwave as a warning to not let himself fall. They all have nightmares about what Tarn, the Prime's Hunting Hound is his nickname now, did that day and continues to do.

Even formally sympathetic populations are falling under the "New Reforms" and an understandable exhaustion from war.

Starscream laughs that he almost could like Tarn for some of those laws they are implementing in his little takeover if it didn't come hand in hand for his philosophy of peace through tyranny and absolute control.

Soundwave is worried about all of them.

Starscream has been quiet, their Voice not silenced but occasionally whispering with the loss of Thundercracker to one such hunt. He and Megatron have both been focusing on the other but not their own trauma which had made Soundwave sigh in fond worry. They'd propped each other up though and Starscream had accepted the young Nova Storm, newly alone herself, into his and Skywarp’s Trine.

Skywarp is the worst concern. Flamewar for all her lashing out and screaming is voicing her feelings. Skywarp has gone quiet and distant and worrisomely focused on reading every report and studying and picture they get of Tarn.

Even worse are the rumors of the newborns disappearing from hotspots or newly onlined Cold Constructed specially chosen by the Prime and Tarn to form an elite squad. Soundwave suspects he knows exactly who they are and exactly who is missing that Tarn wants to find in the stars and in the places they search.

He evacuated Forestock as soon as he made the connection to the small bot in between the Prime and Tarn in the official photos as "Kaon". He cannot let Tarn get a hold of more people, innocent people, to replay Tarn's own traumas on and mold them like he was.

Any Decepticon he knows Tarn had a special connection to is sent as far away and as securely hidden as Soundwave can make them. He only wishes his spy would leave as well or he could hide away Megatron, perhaps one of the biggest targets.

Soundwave though protects those he can and Lockdown is always willing to help smuggle high value targets off planets to what small havens Soundwave is forming. His goal is to keep escape routes and one day evacuation routes for their entire faction to flee, but he won't leave, none of them will, while there is still hope.

Something Tarn is helping the Prime surgically crush and the Waves blame themselves for entirely.

Soundwave is the one who realizes that something is going give when Shockwave, loud bright and so hopeful, proposes a weapon. They are all shocked and Megatron says, very quietly, "You are not a weapons designer." Shockwave says he is now and they are all concerned and reports come in and after hearing the casualties and atrocities Megatron with a heavy heart agrees they have to attack first and stop this escalation and destroy the space bridge no matter the cost.

He accepts the fusion cannon that Shockwave has presented him with and requests an upgrade.

Ohhh the poor sg Decepticons.

The panther didn't respond, but he looked thoughtful.

The following day he said, "I'd like to be called Ravage."

There were bots all around you, self-proclaimed Decepticons, who did not truly believe in Megatron's cause. A bot could not be a bringer of freedom while simultaneously throwing a mech to his doom merely because he was shaped like a beast.

Fortunately you had all Megatron's speeches recorded. You began playing snippets of them whenever you saw mecha stepping out of line. There was a correlation between inebriation and mecha slipping back into old habits—denigrating each other, using slurs—and so you began visiting the taverns. Sitting. Recording. Watching.

"You aren't going to make any friends this way," Ravage said, pulling his drink towards himself with his paw. The bartender had given him a side-eye but said nothing.

"Ravage: still friend?"

"For life."

"Then Soundwave: does not care."

Let them resent you, let them glare at you. If their own words damned them, let them be damned.

The Cause was too important, too beautiful, to be allowed to go rotten. You would protect Megatron's vision. No matter the cost.

Going to add some warnings to this one.

Warnings: Manipulation, loss of sanity.

Autobots:

Optimus feels awful that such a thing happened to them. He hopes maybe he can convince them to join the Autobots, that way he can keep an eye on them and try to keep them safe. Even if they stay Neutral he will still keep his optics on them.

Ratchet would like to give them a medical look-over if they allow. Perhaps he could help them in some way to reverse the damage, or just do something to help them. Though he can understand that they may be wary of him.

Bulkhead is appalled that their friend manipulated them. He couldn't imagine doing that to one of his friends. He feels sorry for them. If there was something he could do, he would. For now, he will just be nice to them and offer help when they need it.

Arcee would like to find their 'friend' and make them pay a price. She hates that their life was turned upside down. She feels bad for the bot and would like to try and give them some support.

Bumblebee would like for them to become an Autobot, he's worried them being a neutral means they could get swept up by the Decepticons or hunted down for it. And for all they have already been through, Bee thinks they deserve a safe protected life that can be given to them by the Autobots.

Decepticons:

Megatron doesn't have time for Neutrals. Either they are an Autobot or Decepticon, anyone else is not important to him. This means he has no time for this bot, no matter what ails they have.

Starscream feels it is a pity that a normal bot was changed so drastically. If they were sane he would have tried to recruit them. But he doesn't need damaged or broken bots on his team. So he leaves them be.

Knockout is interested to know if he could work on them and fix them. Maybe he couldn't make them normal again, but perhaps he could make them somewhat useful for the Decepticons. Though he thinks it would be difficult trying to convince them to let him work on them. Perhaps he would have to do it inconspicuously.

Breakdown doesn't have much thought for them. They aren't a con or bot, which means they aren't someone he should focus on. He does feel sorry for them, that they went through such an ordeal. He wouldn't wish that on anyone. But if they continue to be Neutral then he won't have much contact with them.

Soundwave can find a use for anyone. He doesn't care about their sanity, everyone has their usefulness. The only problem is their Neutral alliance. If they side with the cons then he would have an opinion on them. But if they stay Neutral, then like Megatron he won't throw much thought towards them.

You mean this old girl here? :> I'm always happy to talk about her! Her old designation was Nocturne, but I am thinking about giving her a different name eventually.

Nocturne's alt-mode is a Trabant, which is an old German car that does not get build any more, hence the chipping paint & rust on her.

important side note: since she originated in the TFA universe, her rust is not equal to the illness that it is in other Transformer media.

That being said, it is a sign of her not taking care of herself that well, or refusing to get parts replaced.

During the war, she used to be part of a taskforce forged by request of Ultra Magnus (as many other unfortunate bots) to rush and tear away at the big Decepticon warframes (think Lugnut, Seekers, etc).

Her team got absolutely crushed nearing the end of the war, only leaving Nocturne barely alive on the battlefield, many of her parts not functioning. The only option she has was putting herself back together with the few functioning parts scattered around her… since she and her team all came from the same mould.

Post-war, she avoids Autobots at all cost (since no one cared to look for her and her team, plus she eventually learned about what kind of "project" she was the result of), same with Decepticons, due to her war-related trauma.

That being said, she has a soft-spot for any and all Cybertronians who had similar experiences to hers - just being an experiment to further someone's goals. The Jet twins, Arcee, Wasp, the Dinobots, Soundwave and Blitzwing are very much that - (with Blitzwing also being the one to gift her the visor she has) - and she is rather aggressively protective of them too, to the point that she would attack several people who harmed them in the past on right.

As for her job - I think she was something of a medic for her original taskforce (which is also the reason she could repair herself the way she did) & will still treat folks if they need it, no questions asked. Especially if you're someone like her who does not want to be part of either side of the war.

Personality and Relations

Demon Sword really seems to be someone who doesn’t like to be around others. She avoids conversation, and avoids even meeting other people’s eyes. If someone walks towards her, she tends to walk away, or scoot away from people. It’s. . .really sad to watch, actually. I wonder why she’s like that. I bring her meals a lot too, and she seems to um. . .not really like my cooking. I want her to eat healthy though, so I make sure to avoid as much meat as I can, and get her plenty of salad!

Um, oh, right! She seems to be different around Saria, and Ifrit, and Silence and Ptilopsis, though! I saw when peeking in from the doorway that she smiled at Ifrit, even HUGGED her! That was so cute, they were like two sisters reunited! I wonder why they are like that. And Saria feeds her candy. . .is there history between them all?

Out in the field, Operator Demon Sword is. . .terrifying. She says nothing, she doesn’t question the objective, and her. . .lethality is unrestrained. She doesn’t hold back, and she tears her foes down with no remorse. I question if she. . .realizes these are people she is killing. The Infected. . .are still people. But I can’t deny that she’s amazing to watch. She really deserves the title ‘Demon’ Sword.

okay i just woke up but im still reeling from kenobi and all i can think about is bail organa and owen lars.

both of them having agreed to raise these children that mean so much to the galaxy. for bail, raising the daughter of one of his closest friends. owen, the son the brother he hardly knew, but knew was dangerous. both of them raising these children with such a fierce protectiveness.

owen, how when we see him with luke, the second that he’s not where he was supposed to be, owen is off shouting his name. how owen goes and tells obi wan to leave luke alone, leave him out of the jedi business because he’s seen what it can bring, can see luke is already too much like anakin. how then he literally stares down revas lightsaber, not speaking a word of his nephew. like not for a second there i thought owen would break.

bail, so overwhelmingly proud of leia already, of her free spirit. of how she can already stand up to those who treat others (and her) poorly. how he never tells her to change, only pinky swear to apologize after. how we won’t take no as an answer when it comes to getting her back. how in perfect contrast to owen who wants to keep obi from luke as much as possible, bail wastes no time travelling all the way to tatooine to make him help save her.

seeing them be character foils for each other while at the same time we get to see how similar luke and leia are and how they both handle raising them differently but with the same dedication and love is fucking beautiful.

i love to think that sometimes luke will just casually drop the wildest, most unhinged pieces of lore about his upbringing on tatooine around the others and they'll all just look at him in slight fear like,

'oh yeah! that reminds me of when the kids from my school would all go jump into the womp-rat pit!'

and everyone is just like 'the fucking what pit?'

'the womp-rat pit! all the kids would go out to this outcrop in the dunes where there's this pit full of angry womp-rats and try to push each other in!'

or he'd go off about how pod-racing is fun, but pod-racing at night was even better cause it makes it harder to actually pilot- and oh that one time he even flipped but it was okay cause landing in the sand is mostly soft- and din would just be looking at him like 'how are you still living?'

i think what made the last episode of kenobi, and the kenobi show as a whole, so special is because it really just reminded us that the heart of star wars is love.

we see it full force with beru and owen. both willing to do anything to protect luke. put their lives on the line for him. we see it in beru immediately jumping into action. we see it in owen's claiming of luke as his own. his son. their son. in the looks on their faces when they see luke again, the utter fear that he may be gone. because while obi-wan could most likely feel him in the force, for one gut wrenching moment owen and beru thought their boy was gone.

we see it in breha and bail. their odd, funny little girl finally home and you can just feel their joy. their pride when leia is unapologetically herself. and how when obi-wan talks to leia about her birth parents, she instead looks to them. those who have raised her with a fierce love and kindness. how when she looks to them, they look back with so much love.

we see it in obi-wan and anakin. obi-wan apologizing to anakin, and we have to wonder how long those words have been building inside him? and then the tragic acceptance that there is no longer that person there to love. that his ten years of grief, maybe longer, was over something that was not his fault, that he could have never succeeded in preventing. but at the same time, we know that obi-wan still holds his love for anakin. it's just that darth vader isn't him.

and don't even get me started on obi-wan and his love for luke and leia. how leia was the one to pull him from his isolation. become the man he was again. how watching over luke is his motivation to stay that way. how thinking about them literally is what gives him the strength to pull himself up from the ground. honestly obi-wan and the twins deserve their own post.

star wars has always been a story about love. it can, after all, ignite the stars. and the kenobi finale has captured that fully, making it feel like the most truly star wars show in ages.
