THE CHILDREN OF KING GEORGE III & QUEEN CHARLOTTE OF THE UNITED KINGDOM
The royal couple welcomed a total of fifteen children together, but sadly not all of them survived into adulthood. Two, Prince Octavius and Prince Alfred, passed away in infancy, at the ages of 2 and 4, respectively, from smallpox. Later on, Princess Amelia also sadly died young, albeit it at the age of 27, after succumbing to tuberculosis.
As for when their brood started to arrive, it seems George and Charlotte wasted no time in getting to know one another and less than a year into their marriage, on 12 August 1762
Miss Bridgerton seems to have finally grown tired of waiting for him to pose that all-important question. Or, perhaps, the young miss has simply traded up. Surprising? Quite. Unreasonable? Of course not. After all, why settle for a duke when one can have a prince.
Hello, due to changes of work place, and applying to master degree I took a hiatus; while I have returned, I found several plot holes in my draft and things I would like to change, so it will fit to other stories I plan to publish, however it will not affect the main story plot.
I will not take More Than Diamonds down, but at the same time I am currently in the process of re-writing the story. When I have publish the chapters, I will put a note showing when it was re-published.
Thank you very much for supporting this story, and I will try to make it better in the future.
1999: a 16 year old Prince William becomes godfather to Prince Constantine Alexios of Greece and Denmark alongside the Crown Prince of Denmark and King Felipe VI of Spain. London, United Kingdom.
"The young Prince loved Hervey's double entendres and witticisms; his own letters, clumsily imitative of Hervey's style (just as Molly's often were), were full of awkward teasing masquerading as wit. 'I have many little drolleries still to tell you,' Frederick concluded one, 'but the time presses, so to end, but being afraid that this letter should be opened if I sent it directly to you so I make a direction to Mr Fox, as if it was written to you by a lady, to make you be teased a little about it.' Did Frederick realize that making his letter look as if it were a billet-doux would do more than simply fill Stephen with innocent curiosity?"
~ Amphibious Thing by Lucy Moore p134
The fucking balls to send a guy a flirtatious letter via his boyfriend while you're fucking his mistress behind his back.
Welp, I'm doing this. It's my break and I've been a good responsible adult that's done their duty and I deserve a good old ramble.
So here goes:
We have two teenagers.
Frederick- a seventeen year old prince who's abusive family values gave him a cynical view of people. He's judgemental and quick to make sassy or snide comments about others. This has caused him to hurt someone and he's punished for it by being nearly assaulted, gaslit into believing that the abuse he's been suffering is all in his head, and had his worst fears confirmed with his family hating him and thinking him less than. His interest and mannerisms are seen as childish and naive. Readers reactions to Frederick were negative and even applauded the violence and misfortune being done to him. Even some of the characters in story mistreat him and don't think to much of how their treatment effects him.
Tomie- a fifteen year old girl that's know as the most beautiful girl in class. Every boy wants her and all the girls envy her. While she's know to be a knockout, she's also very petty, manipulative, and insults people. Her beauty catches the attention of her teacher and he takes advantage of Tomie. Tomie is smitten with him and decides to get his attention by telling him that she might be pregnant. He is enraged and so is her boyfriend. Their argument ends with Tomie being pushed by her teacher off a cliff and to her death.
In front of her class.
Instead of shock and students calling the police, The students express joy at Tomie being dead. The girls believe she got what she deserved and the boys blamed her for the teacher's murderous behavior. The teacher convinces his students to help him cut up her body and bury it in several different places.
What they have in common: These characters are victims of abuse. Tomie is being abused by her teacher and possibly who knows who else. Her behavior indicates that she isn't unfamiliar with responding to adults sexually desiring her so she acts in accordance with their responses, meaning that Tomie has been SA and is used to it. Frederick has been physically abused by bullies and mentally and emotionally abused by his father and, by extension, his brothers.
Both characters play into and believe the perceptions that people have placed on them. For Frederick, the abuse is so common that he actually now believes his family's perception of him and acts in accordance with that perception, leading to low self esteem and self destructive tendencies. Tomie is seen as just a bratty and selfish girl by most of her peers and a seductress by most of the men she interacts with. After her death, she plays up those perceptions to a thousand and becomes a monstrous force to be reckoned with. Both have their complexities ignored by their peers; people around them seem to show disdain when both these characters show that these characters are more than what they've been dictated by.
Both characters know people's expectations of them and tailor themselves to them as a way of survival. Tomie is a more extreme case. While Frederick has used his people reading skills to hide as a way of survival, Tomie uses her people reading abilities to manipulate and get others to do what she wants.
Since their both young, their handling of their skills is amateur and often leads them to mistakes.
When I realized this, it lead the old angst wheels to turn. If the cards were played right, Frederick could have possibly become Tomie or would have been a survivor of a Tomie encounter. It's interesting that in a more grim Au, we'd see Frederick, who ends up dying in the dungeon, come back as a vengeful yokai who'd most likely end the Plaid kingdom reign by coming after each Plaid family member one by one.
Hooo. Glad that's out.
I got this idea from a deep dive video someone did of Tomie and found it's discussions on victim blaming fascinating. Give it a look and maybe subscribe.
Wait, so, Frederick majored in administrative support, as well as being good at delegating forces and military statistics? This is all literally king stuff! Organizing, information, and coming up with more efficient policies, aka what a good king should be doing, are all part of administrative support, and deligating forces is literally commanding people and being a leader, and military statistics is honestly self explanatory. Frederick literally took classes and majors in king stuff, he just made it sound boring!
Queen Margrethe of Denmark, 83, announced in her annual New Year's Eve speech that she will step down on January 14 - the first abdication in the Nordic state for 500 years.
"In her address the 83-year-old said she had taken stock after undergoing back surgery last year and had decided it was it was time 'to leave the responsibility to the next generation' - namely her eldest son Crown Prince Frederik.
Speculation is mounting that the decision was made to keep Frederik's wife of 19 years Princess Mary, who is extremely popular with the public, on side."
