Nathan Landry: Character you love to hate?

Most of Pedro’s characters are morally grey and that’s pretty juicy, haha. I have avoided watching movies with characters I think I’ll actively hate, although Dave York is a complete arse. There I said it.

I’m not really complex enough of a person to love hating something, I either just love it or just hate it or I don’t care. Dave York is the least favourite of Pedro’s characters I’ve seen so far... Wait, I seem to have answered the wrong question here. Hang on.

Frankie Morales: Scene that makes you cry?

The scene at the end of Chapter 16 of The Mandalorian has me bawling every time I see it. The acting from Pedro here is just phenomenal. The way he closes his eyes when Grogu touches his cheek, the warmth in those brown eyes, the strength he has to tell Grogu it’s alright, he can go. The slight lip wobbles... the watery eyes... I could go on.

And the slow zoom out that leaves Din just standing there with his helmet on the ground at this feet... it hurts.

12 and 15?

12. A movie that holds a special place in my heart: Titanic for sure. ✨ I was 11 when I saw it in theaters and it basically shaped the person I am today. I’m a romantic at heart because of this movie. I am fascinated by the acting craft and the art of storytelling in general because of this movie. I’ve always had a weakness for blond guys with clear eyes because of this movie (and ugh, this has been a problem in my life countless times). I was introduced to someone who’d become my favorite actor of all time thanks to this movie: Leo ♥

15. A film everyone loves but I hate: I’m not sure I have any, I very rarely hate a movie. But maybe I could mention Tarantino’s movies. I do not hate them, but I am not a fan of the extreme violence going on, visually or even in the sound. I still believe he’s a great director though. I could also mention Zack Snyder’s Justice League? I’m sorry, I don’t hate it, but I didn’t quite get the passion around it. I found it extremely long, I have no problem with a movie being 4 hours long, but like not much happened??? And I felt like there was a LOT of slow motion and “epic” shots around the heroes, that imho made them look more ridiculous than epic. Sorry if I’m offending anyone 🤓

12: Pick your favourite creation of yours based on the colour palette

Answered here. Another favourite palette is the one of my Maxwell Lord edit. I tried a bold 80s palette with lots of colours like the movie posters, I tried an orange and blue palette which I just thought suited the character, but in the end I colour picked this gold from Maxwell’s hair and the blue from his jacket and it works so well with the black. A good choice, it makes the edit for me. Before the choosing the palette I was completely stuck with the edit. It all fell into place after that - and hey, Black Gold is the name of his company! So it works on lots of layers.

37: Is there anything you would like to improve from your editing?

Answered here. Beyond that, nothing really? I won’t know what I want to improve until I actually have an idea that I can’t pull off at all. But in general I am content with my skill level, it’s my creativity that I try to push the boundaries with.

41: Do you listen to music while you create?

Answered here. I used to listen to a lot of 8tracks playlists, and a huge YouTube playlist I had. Now I’m using Amazon Prime Music because I have Prime for my mum.
