Thinkin of my Batman/Digimon Au. Just rotating Bruce curling up in his parents' partners' arms and crying. Rotating them helping raise him and him disappearing to the digital world with Alfred sometimes and getting his own digimon partner. And him also sharing that with his kids when they arrive.

Kudamon is a rookie level digimon, and was Martha's digimon partner. There's two variations and idk which version she'd have

Angemon is a champion level digimon and was Thomas' digimon partner, though may de-digivolve into patamon if he uses too much energy.

Digimon when dragged through a computer to the human realm for the firs time are reverted to training forms, which is pretty much baby forms. However as Alfred is still alive his partner can continue to digivolve, though not stay above champion form for extended periods. So skipping the end mega form, his partner is as follows: Gurimon, Gammamon, Tuskmon, & Triceramon

Similar to Alfred, Bruce is in fact alive, meaning his digimon evolves and can de-digivolve or revert to an egg if too much damage is taken. In order from training to rookie to champion to ultimate his partner is: Tokomon, Tsukaimon, Devidramon & Cyberdramon

If you want to know more about digimon in general, I recommend either watching the series (should be available on YT, used to be on Netflix but who knows if it still is) or reading a wiki or whatever works best for you.

When Tim's pockets dressed Beloved, he's dressed in one of Warning's shirts. The shirt is a red flash shirt with a yellow lightning bolt. I just think this is interesting because I usually draw Billy with a yellow lightning bolt sewn into his red hoodie.

We all know exactly who Alfred's soulmates were and always would/will be in literally any soulmate AU I write, hahaha. I'm not sure I COULD write Alfred with non-Wayne-parent soulmates, who would it even BE? No one! No one is as good as the tragedy of raising your dead soulmates' deeply-traumatized child who can't let go of his own grief!! I ask you, who even COULD be?!

Model Bruce AU

As a kid, Bruce always enjoyed dressing up in Thomas and Martha's clothes. They taught him that clothing isn't specific to a gender so if he wants to wear suits or skirts, tights or trousers, it's all ok. Martha would love taking him shopping and trying on clothes.

One of his fondest memories is of the three of them dressed up as the Three Good Fairies from Sleeping Beauty for a Halloween charity gala. After they died, he framed all of their outfits and hung them up in his study.

He meets Selina in college. He wants to be a doctor and she wants to be a vet. She also has a hobby of sewing and making clothes and he got suckered into being her mannequin. Harley helped with the suckering. To this day, Harley says she got him his first gig cause she introduced the two of them. Bruce never denies it.

The first time he models is for a university fashion show. The winner gets 5 thousand dollars donated to a charity of their choosing and as Selina says "the kitties need their money". It takes a lot of convincing though. Trying on her clothes is one thing but walking a runway? Yeah that's totally different and Bruce definitely panics a little about that. Harley, Bruce and Selina have a whole Model Bootcamp which is basically trying on heels and watching America's Next Top Model.

The theme is 'Red Carpet After-party' and so Selina dresses him in a two piece, floor length dress with a navy lace top and a navy skirt with gold sequins and strappy gold heels. Also gold hair tips and a shimmery navy eye shadow, and his nails match his skirt. (Idk if y'all can tell but I suck at describing clothes)

To cut a long story short, they demolish at that fashion show. Bruce, after a pep talk from Harley and Selina while Harvey was standing there drooling, makes that runway his bitch. He walks like a hooker trying to make her quota. If he wasn't the campus hottie before, he is now. He and Selina eventually go their separate ways but they always look back on that day fondly.

And he gets a lot of offers from big time modelling agencies. They say all the things like he has "potential" and they wanna turn him into "a star" but, while he found it fun, he kinda just wants to do something small. He chooses a small cologne brand that Alfred likes. Alfred tears up at this which makes Bruce tear up and well they're both messes.

They dress him in a smart suit with deep purple eyeshadow to match the bottle of the cologne. His nails get a silver coat like the cover of the bottle. That cologne ad gets so much attention that the business nearly runs out of bottles.

He gets asked if this modelling thing is just a phase, he gets shamed for his clothing and makeup and he generally just gets badgered. He replies the same to all of them "I like doing it so I'm gonna do it"

He kind of a jack of all trades. He models clothes, colognes and perfume, jewellery, shoes, nail polish,(lingerie 😏), he's even appeared in ads for games and toys. He once got all dolled up only to play with Lego but it was so much fun.

Not that Bruce never walks the runway again. He does it for charity, whenever Harley blackmails him into doing it and whenever he feels like. He took Harley with him to every fashion week cause he goes nowhere without his makeup artist.

Nobody could ever connect Batman and Bruce Wayne because while Bruce is a bit shy, he's very graceful while there are too many YouTube compilations of Batman tripping over himself or walking into things.

I will never get over the fact that Joker has once canonically been Martha Wayne and also Alfred (and Tim Joker Jr in the BTAS show, and Jason took on Joker's old Red Hood persona). And that batphobia seems to run in the family, only Thomas Wayne took the idea and shot far beyond the intended target, missing the core of what Batman is supposed to be, entirely.

i think youve talked about something similar before, but do we get to see proof of batman genuinely caring for joker? and not having an excuse of "oh im doing this because i need joker to be fine so i can save other people".

There's plenty of instances of Bruce caring about Joker, and yeah, I've talked about various aspects of it in different asks. There's a more extensive response I posted a while back as part of an interesting Batjokes discussion, in which OP argued that Bruce does not reciprocate, and I disagreed; you can find that here (though fair warning, that whole chain of reblogs is loooong). I also answered some asks about Bruce finding Joker funny here, and about Bruce constantly saving Joker's life here, and made a compilation of some of the best times Bruce got incredibly unhinged over Joker here.

But I'm assuming you mean... Bruce blatantly spelling it out that he cares about Joker, with zero alternative excuse? Since Bruce is so repressed and caring about Joker is something he cannot easily admit to himself, these moments are rare. But if I were to point some of them out, I'd say the ending to Batman: The Killing Joke remains to this day one of the biggest.

No matter how you look at it, Bruce telling Joker "You needn't be out there on the edge anymore. You needn't be alone," right after Joker shot Barbara in the spine... is something that’s difficult to explain away. Not to mention Bruce laughing alongside Joker -- maybe you could argue that Bruce offering to rehabilitate Joker is just something he'd do with all his villains (which isn't actually true, Bruce hasn't had a moment like this with anyone else), but the joined laughter has no possible "excuse" on Bruce's side. It's commiseration, plain and simple.

Then there's Batman: Endgame, and the insanity that is the ending of that comic. And leaving aside the heart-shaped pool of blood, the sheer suggestiveness in the imagery of their fight... Leaving aside Bruce choosing to die alongside Joker, literally pleading with Joker to stay with him as he dies -- there's this:

Batman calls Joker a friend. This cannot be understood as anything else but what it is; Bruce allowing himself to admit he cares about Joker, at the end of the road. Arguing otherwise ignores the context of the story and the writing that came before and after it (besides indicating a worrying lack of media literacy).

And hey, have some Batman and Joker canonically kissing, in Flashpoint: Batman -- Knight of Vengeance:

Yes, it is Thomas Wayne who's Batman, and it's Martha Wayne who's Joker, but I think that's plenty. There's a Universe in which Joker is Batman's wife. The sheer fact this is a thing that exists inevitably implies that Batman and Joker have romantic potential.

But I'll leave you off with the beauty that is Bruce being directly called out on his Joker bullshit in Injustice: Gods Among Us -- Year 1, by his best friend:

Eyy! If you're crazy, Clark (and Alfred, and Tim, and Selina, and Barbara, and many other characters who have explicity remarked on Bruce's unusual attachment to Joker) are too!

I hope this answer helped! <3 But either way, leaving aside the fact Batjokes objectively has plenty of canon support, my advice would be not to stress yourself out by caring too much about evidence. Actually after writing all that out:

Philip potentially COULD be Bette’s dad, but the thing is I don’t think DC has ever bothered to decide either way.

So Martha Wayne had at minimum two, probably at least three brothers.

It’s HILARIOUS that for mythological reasons Bruce must be raised in Wayne Manor by Alfred or Leslie, but Martha quite probably had three brothers who presumably in normal circumstances would have been the people approached to take guardianship of Bruce.

But they didn’t. Because STORIES.

Also now I’m trying to line up Jacob Kane’s backstory with Bruce’s and work out when Kate and Beth were born compared to when the Waynes died.

Because Kate’s approximately, hmmm, 27? or so as of her first appearances in the post-Crisis timeline, if we use the ‘senior year cadet (so 22)’ when Kate was expelled under DADT, then her history after that has approximately 5 years of stuffing around in it training prior to Elegy (I think it’s 5 years because in n52 timelines everything is 5 years, but it’s not like we have better history available).

Which if we line up with post-Crisis Wayne kid ages… Dick is approximately 24-25 at that point.

So Kate’s approximately 2 years older than Dick, so in the current time line she’s 31ish, using Damian’s age as a marker?

But more importantly, the car crash that killed Gabi Kane and where Beth was kidnapped happened when the twins were 12.

Ten year old Dick Grayson is my preferred age for the circus.

The car crash probably happened at almost the same time the Graysons fell.

Which given the traditional time lines for how old Bruce was when he became Batman, means the twins were definitely born several years after Thomas and Martha died (so Jacob was probably deployed overseas somewhere).

Tragic. I was having fun imagining Bruce taken in by Jacob and Gabi RIGHT as they have twin baby girls…

We all know the kids are not as strict as him, ok? Yeah yeah Jason and the duffle bag of severed heads, Damian's entire person, Tim and his general disregard for human life the moment Bruce is not there to act as his moral compass, Dick's anger issues and need for revenge. We all know those.

But IMAGINE the potential of Thomas "what did you say about my family" Wayne, holding a bloodied baseball bat while he calmly cleans his hands, smiling contently at the body at his feet -some creep who decided making inappropriate comments about his infant son was ok- an expression that would reassure people if it weren't for the blood splattered across his lips.

Or Martha "you better keep your hands to yourself" Wayne, using any and all objects to put an end to the constant harrassment that some girls she just met had to deal with from their superior -someone rich, someone she couldn't touch with money for whatever reason.

The following progressive of My Batman AU resembles some new origin stories and new accomplishments between the DC Universe.

Bio: Dick Grayson was born in Haley’s Circus has come to town and Bruce has decided to attend one of these shows. When the Flying Graysons were on stage making stunts, they were sabotaged by Tony Zucco’s men as they fall to their death, except for their 15 year old son Dick Grayson. Which lead to Bruce adopting Dick has he reminded that the night his parents are killed. Dick Grayson now lived at Wayne Manor, something happened...but sheer accident...he discovered the batcave. After some thinking, Bruce came to realize that with the right guidance, Dick could potentially become a better hero then him someday. After long training to help challenge the emotions and grief. Dawning a colorful costume, Dick has become the Boy Wonder, Robin! Batman and Robin go out as an unstoppable Dynamic Dou and won't be long before Batgirl shows up as the Triple Dou!

The dadliness of COURSE it's the dadliness. The general idea of how loyal to a fault he is, that he dedicated his life to taking care of this boy he cared for so much, and his family growing in turn, I just cry. I have so many emotions about how underrated Alfred's angle in the whole found family thing is - PLUS I think he has so much potential for emotionally resonate backstory and parallels with Bruce because of that. Do not test me I will break into DC and MAKE THEM let me rewrite Alfred's backstory

Predictably from the last thing I hate it when he gets written as too stuck up to the point of fucking Bruce up even more as a child. Generally the idea of not allowing Bruce to be a kid when he's lost so much just makes me really sad, and I hate any timelines that involve Alfred OR Bruce hitting the batkids in any context :( listen I'm just a big baby I'm hear for camp not abusive family dynamics

Oh my god so many. Him and any of the batkids - all of them have excellent dynamics, Dickie literally calling Alfred his best friend is my favorite thing. And of course I love him and Bruce's dynamic, these fuckers have had 1 (one) friend (each other) for going on two decades they are a bizarre little pair. Pure same guy syndrome I love it. Also of course Martha Kent!!!! I <3 want <3 them <3 to <3 be <3 best <3 friends !!! He has a passing interest in fashion, costuming, and sewing. He had a lot of fun helping Martha with her outfits, hair and makeup and it was one of the small things he missed when she passed. He was very excited when girls started joining the batfamily (and when dick had a more adventurous sense of style than Bruce). He wears the same thing every day but his kids will look good dammit

As funny as it can be (That "I raised a man too soft hearted for this world, luckily my mother can't say the same" post always makes me HOWL) , I really hate the whole 'alfred likes guns' thing. IDK, at least to me he'd have similar hang ups about it as Bruce, his best friends and his child's parents were killed my gun violence, I just can't see him staying into them. I like him better with swords

Hmmmmm Happy Days are Here Again, especially with this montage from the Marvelous Mrs. Maisel. The end of this song gives me panic attacks in a good way <3 it's nostalgic and beautiful but also like. Very scary and urgent. Since I associate it with this scene it always gives me those panicked vibes of life getting increasingly more fucked up, like per say, starting as a butler for a loving idealic family, having them get murdered in front of their son, and ending with 9 vigilants on your hands

Crossover Idea 4

 DC & Digimon crossover where the Batfam have digimon partners, and an entrance to the Digiverse via the Batcomputer.   Alfred meeting Thomas and Martha when they were younger via getting dragged into the digital world and staying in touch into their adulthood. Why did Alfred willingly move into Gotham? It honestly couldn’t be much crazier than the rest of the things they went through as kids. 

 Bruce probably learns about the digiverse when he was 8, after his parents’ deaths, via Alfred taking him to meet their partners. He wasn’t expecting to get a friend but honestly he really needs one.   He definitely spent part of his training trip in the digiverse, using the time difference to his advantage and learning how to fight not-human things. Which comes in handy more than a few times. 

 Each child he takes in keeps finding their way into the digital world until he gives up and brings them himself. It wasn’t like he could stop any of them from continuing to be vigilantes, but at least this way they’re not alone.   It’s like an open secret of Gotham that the batclan have some sort of creatures, most think they’re some sort of familiars or something similar. Which I suppose isn’t too far from the truth. Sure is a surprise to outsiders like say the Justice League though.

Just putting it out there, but I’d love to see an origin story of how Alfred met the Wayne’s and became their butler. If not you, anyone is allowed to adopt this idea if they feel inspired to do so.

But I could see a loose timeline of Alfred leaving Britain and coming to America, maybe meeting Thomas in a bar one night and then Thomas offering Alfred a job. He helps Thomas ask out Martha, helps him with their proposal and then their wedding, and when Baby Bruce comes along, all the way to the family we see today.

Could be Omegaverse or just regular verse.

There’s so many amazing possibilities when you try to map out a potential Pennywaynes timeline! I’ve seen a few fics but not as many as I’d like. They’re such a compelling trio.

It’s so interesting to me how deep Alfred’s fingers are in this family line. If it were anyone else, it would be downright sinister.
