This is my latest full body portrait cast bronze sculpture "The Musician". I had wanted to make this sculpture for a long time. Recently a friend of mine, a retired musician who actually worked in Nashville with the likes of Jimmy Buffet, kindly agreed to pose for this sculpture. He later purchased it and honored me with composing a song about the experience. Pinhole shoot from last week, wanted to try some photos of this sculpture before covering it with silicone for moldmaking. Shot on a Holga 120N camera modified with a .2mm pinhole on color slide film (Fujichrome Velvia 50). I thought I had miscalculated the aperture with the smaller pinhole and they’re probably a bit underexposed but I’m pretty happy with them, mainly the balance of bright shade, strong reflected light and dappled direct light. This is a portrait of @augusterik, my co-op roommate during my last year at Berkeley. This Russian sculptor, naturalized French, born in Belarus (Russian Empire) arrived in Paris in 1911 at "La Ruche" and participated in the movement "Ecole de Paris" with his friends ... Alexander Archipenko, Alfred Boucher, Antoine Bourdelle, Constantin Brancusi, Rembrant Bugatti, Marc Chagall, Jean Cocteau, Joseph Csaky, Charles Despiau, Jacob Epstein, Léonard Foujita, Alberto Giacometti, Barbara Hepworth, Alfred Janniot, Henri Matisse, Joan Miro, Amedeo Modigliani, Joan Miro, Chana Orloff, Pablo Picasso, Francois Pompon, Diego Rivera, Chaim Soutine, Ossip Zadkine ... His friends Amedeo Modigliani and Diego Rivera each painted a portrait of Leon Indenbaum. In 1968, Léon Indenbaum received the prestigious "Wildenstein" Award of "Institut de France" for all of his work. One of his sculptures beats the world record 2004 for a decorative artwork of the 20th century at $ 4.6M at Christie's.
