Cuphead walks further away with his bag [I would have corrected the sketch in the last page WIP, since I drew him letting it with the others. You’ll know why in a bit.], where he and Chalice were at night in the flashback a few pages ago. Mugman and Puphead join him to check on him.

Mugman: Cuphead ?

Cuphead: I wanna be alone.

Puphead pokes him.

Cuphead: Ugh… What ?!

Puphead: *signing* We’re all happy to get to spend time with you again.

Mugman: They could have done better, true. But you should still enjoy the moment !

Cuphead: Leave me alone...

Puphead follows Mugman as he walks away, mumbling :

Mugman: At least, he’s taking fresh air…

Cuphead hears him and rolls his eyes while getting a cigarette.

Cuphead sits down at the edge of the water and stares at the sea. The night falls, and he’s now writing in a notebook, his bag open, as he got it from it. The moon is surrounded by a few clouds. He then gets up to join the others again. They’re all around a campfire.

Sammy: Aha ! Look who decided to come back~

Cuphead: Sammy, you say one more word and I leave.

Sammy: Geesh, can you stop being a jerk ?!

Baroness von Bonbon: Cut it, you two ! Want a marshmallow, Cuphead ?

Cuphead: No thanks.

He walks to his tent.

Baroness von Bonbon: Okay ! But stay here at least !

Cuphead: Am I allowed to put my stuff in my tent, or what ?!

Baroness von Bonbon: Yes. As well as having manners !

Cala Maria: Is it me, or everyone is in a bad mood since he arrived ?

Mugman looks down next to her, tightening his legs while sitting. He starts coughing. The coughing worsens, making Cuphead hurry out of his tent. Samuel, who’s sitting on Mugman’s other side, puts a worried hand on his shoulder.

Samuel: Mug? Are you okay?

Cuphead reappears and crouches beside him.

Cuphead: Mug ?

Mugman gets up and walks a bit further to isolate himself, as the fit is getting worse, Cala commenting in the background :

Cala Maria: Man, his cough is so nasty…

Baroness von Bonbon: Poor Mug…

Cuphead gets up again to follow him.

Sammy: I thought he wasn’t sick anymore ?

Cuphead: Do you have your inhaler ?

Mugman nods and gets it from his pocket. Cuphead takes it and shakes it for him.

Cuphead: I knew it was a bad idea to come !

Mugman frowns.

Mugman: Shush…

He inhales the medicine, Baroness von Bonbon yelling from out of the panel :

Baroness von Bonbon: Is he okay ?!

Cuphead: UGH, GIVE US SOME SPACE, BONNIE !!!

Mugman retains his breath with a done face.

Baroness von Bonbon: Dammit, what’s wrong with you ?! We barely see you anymore, and when we do, it’s to be yelled at non stop ! You’re ruining our night !

Cala Maria: No wonder. He always goes to the casino. He can’t be surrounded by respectable people.

Mugman is catching up his breath, wheezing.

Cuphead: Mug, let’s just go home ! You’re not well anyway.

Mugman: No ! I’ll be *cough* fine… *wheeze* I won’t let it prevent me from having fun ! *wheeze*

Cuphead: I’m clearly not welcome anyway.

Mugman: Of course you are ! *wheeze* Just try to… Just enjoy, okay ? Puphead brought- *cough* *cough* -cards to play. *wheeze* Maybe you can teach us poker or something ?

Cuphead: You won’t go back home, are you ?

Mugman: No.

Cuphead sighs.

Cuphead: Fine.

They come back.

Baroness von Bonbon: You chill now ?!

Cuphead stays silent, looking at her scornfully. He then asks Puphead :

Cuphead: Hey Pup, Mugman told me you got a card game ?

Puphead nods.

Cuphead: You guys wanna gamble ?

Sammy: To be honest, I’m curious.

Sam: I don’t want to bet money. I don’t even have that much on me right now.

Cuphead: No problem, Sam. We can make it interesting another way.

Sam: Like ?

Cuphead: Loser sniffs cocaine.

Sam: I’m out.

Sammy: ...Why not.

Sam’s eyes widen.

Sam: WHAT ?!

Sammy: For my experience ! It’s just a try !

Sam: Sammy, you know what it implies, right ?

Sammy: Yeah, yeah, dependence, blah blah blah… But it’ll be just once !

Cuphead: Hehe, yeah sure~

Sammy: You don’t think I’m able ?

Cuphead: Yanno it’s hard drugs, right ?

Sammy: And what does that mean ?

Cuphead: The kind that are hard to stop.

Sam: Cuphead, don’t do anything that extreme ! Please...

Cuphead: Fine. Marijuana it’ll be.

Sam: How is it not extreme ?!

Cuphead: It’s soft drugs.

Sam: Are you serio-

Sammy: Shut up now, Sam ! I’m tired of you bossing me around ! If I want to give it a try, I’ll just do it !

Sam frowns and grumbles.

Samuel: But I… I don’t want you to die !

Cuphead laughs.

Cuphead: He won’t, don’t worry Samuel. It’ll be more like-

Time skip to Sammy puking at a tree a bit further. Cuphead teases him, while smoking too.

Cuphead: That makes you a double loser, dude !

Mugman is sitting beside Baroness von Bonbon, a hand on his nose.

Baroness von Bonbon: YOU’re the loser ! You don’t even care about your brother who can’t breathe because of you !

Cuphead: He’s far from me enough !

Mugman: No. You know the smoke always comes to me, whatever you do.

Cuphead: Ugh, fine. I’ll extinguish it.

He rubs it on the floor.

Cuphead: There, happy ?

Mugman: No. I’m SO ashamed of you !

Baroness von Bonbon : To be honest, I don’t want you to hang out with us anymore.

Cuphead frowns as she says that and gets up, an empty glass bottle in his hand.

Cuphead: Fine with me !

He throws it violently on the floor.

Cuphead: FUCK Y’ALL !

He lifts his middle finger to them, as he goes to his tent.

[Alternate idea: Try to make him lift the 2 middle fingers, as he has 4 fingers, to see if it works visually, and make him say :

Cuphead: Uuh, which finger is it again... Ok nvm, imagine there's only one - FUCK Y’ALL !]

Cala Maria: Geesh ! How are you dealing with this everyday, Mug ?

Mugman: It’s not that bad, usually. Sometimes with Grandpa. But with me, I feel like he retains himself.

Warrior Cats Rewrites / AUs I Might Do.

Spottedleaf's Survival

Title change: The story reflects Spotted's recovery from Thistleclaw's grooming and how Spotted and Blue have to carve their way out of Thunderclan's toxic insular culture so that Spotted can be recognized as having survived a terrible thing

Changes:

Thistle gets banished

Bluestar actively prevents Spottedpaw from getting taken advantage of

Bluestar is the one to get Thistleclaw banished

Mosskit lives

Spottedleaf and Bluestar becoming leader and medicine cat isn't just out of survival, but out of passion to try and lead Thunderclan into a better future.

Emphasis on Spottedleaf having trauma and how she copes with it

Story is also used to explain how Thunderclan goes from war-mongering to the 'noble' clan

Mapleshade's Era

Title change: In this au Mapleshade doesn't lose her kits, at least not so quickly/all of them and Mapleshade becomes a much, much more influential figure.

Changes:

More emphasis on Maple's kits

I want for Patchkit to survive (might change my mind)

Mapleshade is an abusive parent/partner, neglectful to her kid's physical safety and emotionally neglectful to Appledusk while they were together and emotionally manipulative to her second mate.

Mapleshade gets a second mate after Appledusk

Appledusk gets more characterization other than the basic "chooses clan over mate"

Appledusk still isn't evil but he isn't as enthusiastic about Mapleshade having kits as he is in the actual story

Multiple POVs

Frecklewish is meaner towards Mapleshade (thank you russetfoxfur for putting evil but sympathetic Frecklewish in my head)

Perchpaw gets to be even more of a hero

#poorly drawn mdzs #mdzs #lan xichen #jin guangyao #jiang cheng #wei wuxian #qin su #EDIT: Tumblr published an earlier draft with only half the notes I wrote so: late entry on my JGY thoughts. #Unlike the mystic powers of the stockmarket (what the OG meme is referring to) I think this situation calls for more active investigation. #qin su is such a deeply tragic character to me and I really wish we got a bit more from her. #Love everyone who sent me messages about her after the last time she appeared. #I think she needs a spin off of her being a transmigrator SO badly. #MDZS has so many interesting characters - but it sometimes fails to give them the proper room to really develop past a role in the plot. #That's just the consequence of writing a story like MDZS. Not every character in a book *needs* to have a rich inner life and backstory! #To do so would bog down the story and obliterate any notion of pacing. It's just not possible. #Jin Guangyao (nee Meng Yao) is unfortunately not free from this leeway rule. He is the culprit of this murder mystery plot #and thus NEEDS to encapsulate the themes of the book. And personally he's a 7 out of 10 at best on this front (in the AD). #MDZS is about rumours twisting reality and working towards truth. And about how people & situations are rarely ever black & white #JGY has his motivations. He's well written in regards to his actions making sense for his character. #What started as good traits (drive to succeed & improve his image) became twisted over time (do anything to maintain his image) #and it's a good parallel to WWX! He has the same arc (with different traits)! Bonus points for IGY in that regard. #but man....by the time we confront this guy for murder there's not a lot of grey morality. He's just...deep in the hole *he* dug. #There's a beautiful tragedy to it! More on JGY in later comics - this is getting pretty long already!

love how Solar Opposites started out as a sitcom about two aliens who can't stand each other, stuck with their teenage clones (whom they also can't stand) & a toddler antichrist (whom they view as a sort of self-sufficient free-roaming hamster?) on a stupid planet they can't stand

and 4 seasons later it's a sitcom about a family of genderqueer aliens, headed by a gay couple in a happy & horny open marriage (with a graphic off-screen sex life, despite their canonical lack of genitalia?) teaching themselves to be okay parents to their 3 kids (whose Sci-Fi Antics now slightly-less-frequently revolve around wreaking havoc on human bystanders, and slightly-more-frequently revolve around alien-clone-sibling-bonding*), to the point that the central plot point becomes "We need to provide our toddler antichrist with a stable home environment."

(also the grumpy alien husband is too busy ingratiating his family with their suburban neighbors to even remember whom or what he dislikes. what is this show)

Any au that has Jason willingly working for the government even if it’s as a social worker has automatically kinda lost me because we’re talking about someone who distrusts the system so much that as a child he chose the streets over going into custody of social services. Jason’s lack of faith in institutions continues into adulthood (but also through his original Robin tenure low key), one of the most substantial differences between his and Bruce’s philosophy is the fact that Bruce puts his faith in the law and the criminal justice system while Jason decidedly does not in the slightest

the thing about bad buddy is that calling it enemies to lovers is not entirely wrong and is a very succinct and easy way to indicate the general plot, but also one of the only moments that the two main characters are actually personally in conflict with each other lasts about four minutes and is expressed mainly through upset shirtless xylophone playing contrasted with a montage of happy moments that features a time there was triumphant shirt-wearing xylophone playing. and then they both say sorry at literally the exact same time

#which as it turns out is EXACTLY how i want my enemies to lovers plots by the way. there is literally no way to beat this #if anything it's. enemies (through circumstance. unwillingly) to lovers (by choice. enthusiastically) #* #bad buddy #bad buddy the series #edit. actually ALSO worth noting that even this brief xylophone-expressed conflict only happens because of their differing views #on how to deal with outside influences on their relationship. which is doing just fine except for those pressures from around them #and then it's RESOLVED by pran going yeah i worry about people finding out but i care about you more #essentially already stating the whole final we can't change the world but that doesn't mean we have to let the world change us thing #and fjdkfj. yeah i'll stop adding tags now. ridiculous how wildly rewatchable a show is that at first glance seems so low on plot

the arryn line has died out so many times they always have a backup line ready to be the next arryn, these bitches are just sooooo bad at living. everyone’s always picking on the starks for getting nearly wiped out but damn ned & cat really hunkered down and repopulated the hell out of the family tree, like the starklings aren’t doing that bad, meanwhile you just like, sneeze too hard in the direction of the eyrie and the whole arryn line is on the brink of extinction, but it’s okay, they follow strict osha guidelines in the vale and they have a protocol for this very common scenario

#idk if this makes sense but when im writing taob i take the plot outline i already have in my notes which is usually about 200 words #very briefly saying what the events of the chapter are. and then when im about to start actually cracking on with it #i take that and do a pov by pov outline with MUCHHHH more detail bc alas. my main plot outline was written when i was 17 #so every few months i do the fun game of trying to figure out what the FUCK that bitch was trying to say #me trying to translate my 2020 ramblings: YOU WHO- YOU WHO SEEK AN END TO LOVE- LOVE WILL YIELD TO BUSINESS WHAT THE FUCK IS THAT #taob updates
