[...] Pleur et Philosophie . . . . . . . 💻 Article Intégral sur Wordpress: @Afrikidentite https://www.instagram.com/p/B6fNOI5JkuS/?igshid=ut14dqrik706

I’ve had many #teachers in my life, but I keep coming back to three primarily: 1. @brucelee 2. @josephcampbellfoundation 3. @krishnamurtifoundationtrust... I got into #krishnamurti from #brucelee, because in my youth I wanted to reverse engineer what made Bruce Lee, Bruce Lee. Bruce Lee didn’t become Bruce Lee without the teachings of Krishnamurt. His iconography as martial art’s answer to James Dean overshadows that underlying Bruce Lee’s cult status is a philosopher using martial arts as a means to liberate himself from his own ignorance, and he could not accomplish this or even think in this manner without the penetrating philosohpy of Jiddu Krishnamurti. Likewise, I could not even attempt to do the same, and on this #roadtrip, I stopped in Ojai over the weekend just to thank the foundation for Krishnamurti’s inspiration. By accident, what unfolded was beyond my wildest expectations. I met Krishnamurti’s cook while he was still alive, and he gave me his personal information to keep him abreast of my journeys, and I met someone else at the foundation who lived in Japan, who’s going to provide me helpful information when I stay in Japan to witness #skateboarding as an #Olympic event. Improbabilities collapse to singularities... Join the @armyofempaths (at Krishnamurti Foundation of America) https://www.instagram.com/p/B19cr4FFkq4/?igshid=e37f6ho6rusc

Champagne (Luxury ask)
Champagne: what topic could you talk about for hours?
Philosophy. No contest there. Tbh I first thought of fandoms and how I love meta-ing through them but then I remembered a gradutaion party I went to last week where I literally spent the whole time talking about the philosohpy of love in Dostoevsky’s Brothers Karamazov with two guys instead of partying it up with literally twenty other people, so…
But out of all philosophical subjects to debate/discuss, my fav topic is Love. It’s so interesting to hear everyone’s different ideas for its definition and I always enjoy friendly debates about whose definition is closer to the truth. ‘My definition’ is actually not one that I came up with, but one proposed by St. Augustine of Hippo that is held by the Catholic Church (bc I’m Catholic). That definition of Love is “actively willing and pursuing the Good for another”.
Basically that means that when you love someone, you want the best for them and try to give that best to them selflessly. Examples are: giving a present to someone, giving your granola bar to a homeless person, or taking your father’s place in a scary, enchanted castle so that he gets home safe while you stay a prisoner… ;P
Like the question says, I could talk for hours about philosophy, but I’ll cut this short for my poor followers who have better things to do than think about Platonic Ideals XD
but if any of y’all wanna philosophize w/ me, you know where to find me :)
Thanks for sending this ask, @theresadunn! :D
