Peter glanced over his shoulder, wanting to be sure that they were alone in the silence that had filled the room before he turned his head back towards Rocket. “Hey, so...I need to talk to you about something...” If anybody was going to give it to him straight, it was Rocket Raccoon. “I didn’t exactly tell you everything that happened when I got back” In fact, he had left out a pretty important detail, although, Gamora had been right there in Peter’s defence. Or that was the excuse that he was running with, anyways.

When Peter had gotten stuck in the alternate universe, he had began to fear that it was where he would spend the rest of his days. Acceptance eventually followed those fears and before he knew it, Peter had found himself moving on. He thought he’d done the right thing in leaving his son behind and keeping him from all of the darkness that seemed to follow Peter, but now he was doubting that decision. Doubting himself.
