You have undoubtedly started learning about gastroparesis and have more questions if your child has recently been diagnosed with it. Here are some further details on the condition:
7 ADDITIONAL FACTS ABOUT GASTROPARESIS IN CHILDREN
1. THE FUNCTIONS OF THE STOMACH
The heart, fundus, body, antrum, and pylorus are the five main components of the stomach. When all of these components are working properly, food can be accommodated, stored, compressed, digested, and pushed into the small
intestine. However, any combination of these five areas may be faulty and result in symptoms in a child with gastroparesis. Additionally, foods or liquids may be to blame for the symptoms.
We now lack a good test that can identify which one or more of the five components is malfunctioning, though we can perform a four-hour gastric emptying scan to see if the stomach empties slowly and can discriminate between liquid and solid emptying. We do, however, have drugs that target certain aspects of the stomach. Therefore, based on which medication helps reduce some of the symptoms, we can figure out which section is the issue after some trial and error. To treat the symptoms, we may occasionally need to take many drugs.
2.AN INCIDENCE
While not particularly prevalent in youngsters, gastroparesis is common in adults. It usually occurs after a viral infection in children. But frequently, the reason is unknown, which is referred to as idiopathic. It does occur when there is diabetes or a neurologic issue present, although it is less common in children. In addition, certain children may experience joint hypermobility, a disorder that can have an impact on various body systems, including the digestive system, and may result in gastroparesis.
3.In children of various ages, IT SEEMS DIFFERENT
Because children can't express their pain, gastroparesis manifests differently in infants and toddlers. They frequently have a feeding issue because they abruptly stop eating and become cranky and vomitous. The diagnosis is simpler in older children because they can express their feelings and report symptoms like bloating, nausea, and feeling full.
4.THE DIFFERENT GRADES OF SERIOUSNESS
Gastroparesis can range from minor to severe. Gastric failure is the term used to describe the severe variant. Children who have it stop eating and constantly throwing up, which causes them to lose weight and get dehydrated. In order to acquire nutrients, they frequently need to be fed through a feeding tube that skips the stomach. Sometimes they can't handle it either, therefore they may need to receive whole parenteral nourishment intravenously (TPN). Thankfully, this is a rare variation of the illness.
5.CONDITION OF LIFE
Many kids might get relief from their symptoms with the correct care. The process of receiving the proper diagnosis and subsequent therapy, however, can be drawn out and have an influence on a child's quality of life. These kids miss a lot of school and extracurricular activities as a result of their stomach pain, nausea, and vomiting symptoms. Most are taught at home. Furthermore, they may improve gradually over a period of several years. Some of them won't get better, and some of them will live with their symptoms for the rest of their lives. In most cases, post-viral gastroparesis gets better in three months to three years. After puberty, gastroparesis typically improves in patients with hypermobility.
6.The best treatment options
Every child will respond differently to treatment for gastroparesis, but alternatives may include prescription drugs, dietary changes, and medical and surgical treatments. A GI-focused psychologist can instruct children in certain methods to lessen the feelings of nausea and abdominal pain and to increase appetite. These methods for coping with pain and nausea can enhance everyday functioning, school attendance, nutrition, and weight growth. Multiple professionals are needed to meet the needs of children with severe forms. We advise patients to work with a team that consists of a neuro gastroenterologist, nutritionist, psychologist, and social services to assist children with their academics.
7.WHEN TO CONSULT A SPECIALIST
I advise having another discussion with your primary care physician if your child has experienced an acute sickness, such as the stomach flu, and if the symptoms, such as bloating, fullness, and pain, have not subsided. Your pediatrician could suggest referring your child to a pediatric gastroenterologist if they have been treating your child's symptoms with medication but they aren't improving.

BNHA AU Idea: Getting what you're due often means you have to lie a little bit.
TL;DR: Izuku can't get into UA without a registered quirk. This is a much simpler problem to fix than he'd let himself think about. A little breaking and entering is fine if its for a good cause - right?
Izuku is in his second last year of middle school when he is attacked by the sludge villain. Endeavor is the hero to save him - burns the sludge until it bubbles and boils and Izuku is so hot he feels like hes dying but growing up around Kacchan has made him good at keeping his mouth shut while he burns - and the villain releases him, unconscious due to the pain.
He asks. "Could I be a hero? Even without a quirk?" He knew the answer before he received it, before Endeavour said a word. It was the malice in his eyes that gave it away.
"Quirkless?" He spat, cold fury and grief tangled up in a way Izuku could only read as anger. "You'd be lucky to get a job picking up trash."
Izuku's heart broke, like usual. A practised kind of heartbreak, one that happens the same way over and over until its not really breaking anymore, because it never healed.
At least the next day, Bakugo corners him, throws the first punch with sparks dancing across his knuckles and Izuku is just Done. He and his mother had been attending self defense classes since Izuku turned four - since his father left, since their family became a quirkless child and a pretty young mother in a rough neighbourhood. Izuku is tired and he is angry and he punches back.
It devolves into a violent scuffle, biting and yelling, both boys furious with the other, beyond words. It ends with them both slumped on the ground, heaving for breath through bloodied noses. When the teacher comes around the corner looking shocked and then angry, Izuku is ready to be expelled. Kacchan doesn't have to say a word for it all to be blamed on him.
"Some fuckin-" Kacchan coughs, choking a little on the blood running down his throat. he coughs, looking disgusted as pink spittle stains his sleeves. "Some fuckin creep was on school grounds. He's gone now."
Izuku was silent, wide eyed, as Kacchan refused to look at him, as the teacher fussed over him for getting in Bakugo's way, but that it was still nice of him to help his friend, but that they should both really get a teacher next time. They didn't question his story. Why would they? Kacchan was their golden child.
"If you weren't quirkless." Kacchan muttered as he left the nurse's office. "You could have been worth a damn."
If he wasn't quirkless.
Well. He could fix that. On paper, anyway.
Ok so! Quirkless kids cant apply to UA. But its worded weirdly - as 'those marked medically quirkless on their files can not apply to UA. So if he gets in, but the letter of the law, he's fine. He just cant be medically quirkless on record.
The only student at aldera with a shot at UA is bakugo. He's the only one who put in the work, and had the inclination. Izuku thinks that maybe - maybe - he might not sell him out. Might let him apply, might keep his mouth shut.
Izuku's ability with computers isn't good enough to hack. Hes pretty sure hacking doesn't even really work like that, and there is no way for him to learn how hacking works in like 2 years - at least well enough to get into a high security government database.
The easiest option would be a pediatricians office - they have the ability to update quirk records. But they show as updated, not original. A quirkless kid gaining a quirk at 13? One he can't show off on command? Very dicey.
The main server for the records is kept at the HPSC offices - they actually advertise it, which. Izuku thinks is pretty silly.
So - how does he get in? His simplest option is also his riskiest - just walk in an hope no one asks any questions. Possible, but the risk is just way too high. So, plan too - have a Reason to be in there.
They could probably use an analyst, right?
featuring :
Izuku befriending Hawks and becoming faintly horrified at the HPSC's treatment of him
Izuku getting access to their dirty little secrets because no one thought the cute kid was a security risk.
Izuku has a fake idenity he was hired through - same name but the son of an I-Island scientist. I-Island will not release their records to any government unless there is a criminal case so Izuku's pretty good there. He did need a personal reference but one of his online friends is a quirkless girl who lives on I-Island, she gets her dad to do it. Izuku is very grateful - she just asks that she get to be his support tech. Izuku cries, just a little.
Izuku keeps working there even after he's at UA, his mum is now in on the plan. She never actually married Hisashi so there are no records contradicting Izuku ab his 'dad'
1A still becoming convinced All Might is his dad, but this time is small might.
All Might considers asking Izuku to become his successor but when asked if he wished he had a quirk, Izuku said 'not any more. im doing good like this, i think'
He topples the whole commission in second year.

A doctors’ organization at the center of the ongoing legal fight over the abortion drug mifepristone has suffered a significant data breach. A link to an unsecured Google Drive published on the group’s website pointed users last week to a large cache of sensitive documents, including financial and tax records, membership rolls, and email exchanges spanning over a decade. The more than 10,000 documents lay bare the outsize influence of a small conservative organization working to lend a veneer of medical science to evangelical beliefs on parenting, sex, procreation, and gender.
The American College of Pediatricians, which has fought to deprive gay couples of their parental rights and encouraged public schools to treat LGBTQ youth as if they were mentally ill, is one of a handful of conservative think tanks leading the charge against abortion in the United States. A federal lawsuit filed by the College and its partners against the US Food and Drug Administration seeks to limit nationwide access to what is now the most common form of abortion. The case is now on a trajectory for the US Supreme Court, which not even a year ago declared abortion the purview of America’s elected state representatives.
The leaked records, first reported by WIRED, offer an unprecedented look at the groups and personnel central to that campaign. They also describe an organization that has benefited greatly by exaggerating its own power, even as it has struggled quietly for two decades to grow in size and gain respect. The records show how the College, which the Southern Poverty Law Center (SPLC) describes as a hate group, managed to introduce fringe beliefs into the mainstream simply by being, as the founder of Fox News once put it, “the loudest voice in the room.”
The Leak
A WIRED review of the exposed data found that the unsecured Google Drive stored nearly 10,000 files, some of which are compressed zip files containing additional documents. These records detail highly sensitive internal information about the College’s donors and taxes, social security numbers of board members, staff resignation letters, budgetary and fundraising concerns, and the usernames and passwords of more than 100 online accounts. The files include Powerpoint presentations, Quickbooks accounting documents, and at least 388 spreadsheets.
One spreadsheet appears to be an export of an internal database containing information on 1,200 past and current members. It contains intimate personal information about each member, including various contact details, as well as where they were educated, how they heard of the group, and when membership dues were paid. The records show past and current members are mostly male and, on average, over 50 years old. As of spring 2022, the College counted slightly more than 700 members, according to another document reviewed by WIRED.
The breach exposes some material dating back to the group’s origin. It includes mailing lists gathered by the group of thousands of “conservative physicians” across the country. (One document outlining recruitment efforts states in bold, red letters: “TARGET CHRISTIAN MDs.”) The ongoing recruitment of doctors and medical school students seen as holding Christian views has long been its top priority. The leaked records indicate that more than 10,000 mailers were sent to physicians between 2013 and 2017 alone.
While the group’s membership rolls are not public, the leak has outed most if not all of its members. A cursory review of the member lists surfaced one name of note: a recent commissioner of the Texas Department of State Health Services, who after joining in 2019 asked that his membership with the group remain a secret. (WIRED was unable to reach the official for comment in time for publication.)
The SPLC’s “hate group” designation, which the College forcefully disputes, haunted its fundraising efforts, records reveal. A barrage of emails in 2014 show that the label cost the group the chance to benefit from an Amazon program that would eventually distribute $450 million to charities across the globe. Amazon would deny the College’s application, stating that it relied on the SPLC to determine which charities fall into certain ineligible categories.
A strategy document would later refer to a “unified plan” among the College and its allies to “continue discrediting the SPLC,” which included a campaign aimed at lowering its rating at Charity Navigator, one of the web’s most influential nonprofit evaluators. One of the group’s admins noted that despite SPLC’s label, another charity monitor, GuideStar, listed the College as being in “good standing.”
The College’s GuideStar page no longer says this and appears to have been defaced. It now reads, “AMERICAN COLLEGE OF doodoo fartheads,” with a mission statement saying: “we are evil and hate gays :(((”
The Google Drive containing the documents was taken offline soon after WIRED contacted the American College of Pediatricians. The College did not respond to a request for comment.
The Talk
Leaked communications between members of the group and minutes taken at board meetings over the course of several years speak loudly about the challenges the group faced in pursuing its deeply unpopular agenda: returning America to a time when the laws and social mores around family squared neatly with evangelical Christian beliefs.
Many of the College’s most radical views target transgender people, and in particular, transgender youth. The leak, which had been indexed by Google, includes volumes of literature crafted specifically to influence relationships between practicing pediatricians, parents, and their children. It includes reams of marketing material the College aims to distribute widely among public school officials. This includes pushing schools to adopt junk science painting transgender youth as carriers of a pathological disorder, one that’s capable of spontaneously causing others–à la the dancing plague–to adopt similar thoughts and behaviors.
This is one of the group’s most dubious claims. While unsupported by medical science, it is routinely and incuriously propagated through literature targeted at schools and medical offices around the US. The primary source for this claim is a research paper drafted in 2017 by Lisa Littman, a Brown University scholar who, while a medical doctor, had not specialized in mental health. The goal of the paper was to introduce, conceptually, “rapid onset gender dysphoria”—a hypothetical disorder, as was later clarified by the journal that published it. Littman would also clarify personally that her research “does not validate the phenomenon” she’d hypothesized, since no clinicians, nor individuals identifying as trans, had participated in the study.
The paper explains that its subjects were instead all parents who had been recruited from a handful of websites known for opposing gender-affirmative care and “telling parents not to believe their child is transgender.” A review of one of the sites from the period shows parents congregating to foster paranoia about whether there’s a “conspiracy of silence” around “anime culture” that was brainwashing boys into behaving like girls; insights plucked in some cases straight from another, more notorious forum (widely known for reveling in the suicides of the people it has bullied).
A 2021 prospectus describing the group’s focus, ideology, and lobbying efforts encapsulates a wide range of “educational resources destined for the inboxes of physicians and medical school students. The materials include links to a website instructing doctors on how to speak to children in a variety of scenarios about a multitude of topics surrounding sex, including in the absence of their parents. Practice scripts of conversations between doctors and patients advise, among other things, ways to elicit a child’s thoughts on sex with the help of an imaginative metaphor.
While the material is not expressly religious, it is clearly aimed at painting same-sex marriage as aberrant and immoral behavior. Physicians lobbied by the group are also told to urge patients to purchase Christian-based parenting guides, including one designed to help parents broach the topic of sex with their 11- and 12-year-old kids. The College suggests telling parents to plan a “special overnight trip,” a pretext for instilling in their children sexual norms in line with evangelical practice. The group suggests telling parents to buy a tool called a “getaway kit,” a series of workbooks that run around $54 online. The workbooks methodically walk the parents through the process of springing the topic, but only after a day-long charade of impromptu gift-giving and play.
These books are full of games and puzzles for the parent and child to cooperatively take on. Throughout the process, the child slowly digests a concept of “sexual purity,” lessons aided by oversimplified scripture and well-trodden Bible school parables.
Another document the group shared with its members contains a script for appointments with pregnant minors. Its purpose is made evidently clear: The advice is engineered specifically to reduce the odds of minors coming into contact with medical professionals not strictly opposed to abortion. A practice script recommends the doctor inform the minor that they “strongly recommend against” abortion, adding “the procedure not only kills the infant you carry, but is also a danger to you.” (Medically, the term “fetus” and “infant” are not interchangeable, the latter referring to a newborn baby less than one year old.)
The doctors are urged to recommend that the minor visit a website that, like the aforementioned website, is not expressly religious but will only direct visitors to Catholic-run “crisis pregnancy centers,” which strictly reject abortion. The same site is widely promoted by anti-abortion groups such as National Right to Life, which last year held that it should be illegal to terminate the pregnancy of a 10-year-old rape victim.
The Professionals
The effort to ban mifepristone, legislation the Supreme Court paused last month pending further review, faces significant legal hurdles but could ultimately benefit from the appellate court’s disproportionately conservative makeup. Most of the legal power in the fight was supplied by a much older and better funded group, the Alliance Defending Freedom, which has established ties with some of the country’s most elite political figures—former vice president Mike Pence and Supreme Court justice Amy Coney Barrett among them.
A contract in the leaked documents dated April 2021 shows the ADF agreeing to legally represent the College free of charge. It stipulates that ADF’s ability to subsidize expenses incurred during lawsuits would be limited by ethical guidelines; however, it could still forgive any lingering costs simply by declaring the College “indigent.”
In contrast to the College’s some 700 members, the American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP)–the organization from which the College’s founders split 20 years ago–has roughly 67,000. The rupture between the two groups was a direct result of a statement issued by the AAP in 2002. Modern research, the AAP said, had conclusively shown that the sexual orientation of parents had an imperceptible impact on the well-being of children, so long as they were raised in caring, supportive families.
The College would gain notoriety early on by assailing the positions of the AAP. In 2005, a Boston Globe reporter noted how common it had become for the American College of Pediatricians “to be quoted as a counterpoint” to anything said by the AAP. The institution, he wrote, had a rather “august-sounding name” for being run by a “single employee.”
Internal documents show that the group’s directors quickly encountered hurdles operating on the fringe of accepted science. Some claimed to be oppressed. Most of the College’s research had been “written by one person,” according to minutes from a 2006 meeting, which were included in the leak. The College was failing to make a splash. In the future, one director suggested, papers rejected by medical journals “should be published on the web.” The vote to do so was unanimous (though the board decided the term “not published” was nicer than “rejected”).
A second director put forth a motion to create a separate “scientific section” on the group’s website, strictly for linking to articles published in medical journals. The motion was quashed after it dawned on the board that they didn’t “have enough articles” to make the page “look professional.”
The College struggled to identify the root cause of its runtedness. “To get enough clout,” one director said, “it would take substantial numbers, maybe 10,000.” (The College’s recruitment efforts would yield fewer than 7 percent of this goal in the following 17 years.) Yet another said the marketing department advised that “the College needs to pick a fight with the AAP and get on Larry King Live.” Another, the notes say, felt the organization was too busy trying to “walk the fence” by neglecting to acknowledge that “we are conservative and religious.”

We’re back with another part to our A/B/O rec list! You can find part one here, part two here, and part three here. And since there are so many incredible A/B/O fics out there, we plan to do more parts in the future. If you enjoy our rec lists, please be sure to like and reblog this post to help spread the word. Happy reading!
1) Press Into My Bones | Explicit | 2121 words
“What the fuck is wrong with you,” he hisses, half annoyed, half aroused.
Harry only hums in lieu of a reply, his eyes not even open yet.  Bastard. His mate is a bastard.
2) You Fit Me Better | Explicit | 3854 words
Louis moves back to Cheshire with no prospects and lacking a laundry machine for his apartment. At the laundromat, he meets Harry, a meddlesome alpha who smells divinely enough to ease his anxiety. When Louis goes back home, he finds out he switched clothing with Harry, meaning he needs to meet him again to give it back.
3) Pits Of Love | Explicit | 3936 words | Sequel
Harry smells Louis' sweat for the first time after they've moved in together. His alpha goes a bit wild.
4) Unfortunate Fortunes | Not Rated | 9793 words
There are three stages of touch deprivation. Stage one is very mild, stage two leads to itchy skin and restless nights, but stage three is the worst. Omegas with stage three touch deprivation, rarely survive because the only cure for it is finding your true mate.
Louis Tomlinson is an omega with stage three touch deprivation and Harry Styles is his new alpha neighbour who also happens to be a famous boxer-not that Louis knows.
5) Don’t Know If I Could Ever Live Without | Explicit | 14140 words
“We’ve come up with a solid solution. You’re not going to like it.”
“What is it?” Louis narrows his eyes suspiciously, glancing at a visibly enthusiastic Liam.
“What if you pretended to be an Alpha?” Zayn suggests.
6) No Lemon Drops No Bubblegum | Explicit | 14797 words
They never interacted in that one semester, in that one class, and never were put in the same group, never sat close to each other.
Then again, it’s not like Louis was hoping it’ll turn to something more. Just a fleeting crush, that he’ll get over once he stops seeing him every week.
Except he hasn’t stopped, he’s still thinking about it once in a while. What’s Harry Styles doing today? Has he cut his hair? Does he still eat scones for breakfast every Wednesday? He got his answers now, at least about the state of his hair. Harry’s hair is a lot shorter than the last he remembers, it curls around his ear, framing his square jaw nicely. He’d have to ask about the scone next time. If there’s ever a next time.
7) Tennis Court | Explicit | 18285 words
Nearly every single Monday, a new wave of gossip about Styles appeared in Louis’ office, like a dysfunctional and very thirsty clockwork. Because nearly every single Monday, a new omega freshly out of their heat had to tell how fantastic their weekend with the alpha was.
And all thanks to Louis' office mating cycle system, which consisted of a database of employees who needed partners for their heat/ruts. It was a practical and very useful system; employees checked the people in it and had to pick three of them from the list of candidates to spend their cycles with—just in case one of the three was unavailable for those days, they still had at least two options secured. His first year working there, Louis made the huge mistake of putting Styles as one of his options. Styles, of course, never made himself available for him, not even once.
8) Butterflies, The Beautiful Kind | Explicit | 18401 words
Prompt 36: Louis is a single parent with a child who is terrified of doctors. However, one day, the kid gets sick. Thankfully the new pediatrician, doctor Styles, has wild curly hair and green eyes and a soothing deep voice that the kid immediately grows attached to.
9) This Love Is Ours | Mature | 21028 words
Farmer Harry got village girl Louis pregnant without mating.
10) Swept Me Off My Feet (Took My Heart And Took Me Down) | Explicit | 25447 words
When Louis had decided to reopen his mother's bakery, he never thought a charming alpha would walk in through the door, let alone fall in love with him over tea, dessert and music.
11) A Kiss From A Rose | Explicit | 26437 words
“What the fuck was that?” Louis screeches, backing himself up against the back wall, ignoring the pain of the hand rail digging into him. The lift isn’t making any noise now, eerie silence filling the space.
The other man looks a lot less panicked than Louis feels, merely frowning at the door like it’ll open if he glares at it hard enough. “I think it’s broken down,” he says. “It’ll probably start back up in a minute. Place like this—probably happens all the time.”
Louis is not comforted by that at all.
12) Worth The Wait | Explicit | 29262 words
In all the words Louis would use to describe a baby shower, the last one he’d ever thought to use was depressing.
13) You Fill My Lungs With Sweetness (Can I Be Close to You?) | Explicit | 29844 words
Busy picturing Harry’s stupid face on the stupid dummy, Louis goes through a series of kicks before returning to a low guard and cycling through punches. Harry’s still talking, gesturing with his hands as he rounds Louis, standing to his back. “You do a few butt-shaping exercises, tighten this up a little bit,” he smacks Louis’ arse and the omega freezes while Harry cheerfully continues, “you could pull this off.”
“You know what?” Louis snaps, lifting on his tiptoes to get the leverage so he can wrap his arm around the alpha’s neck, forcing him to bend in half while Louis locks him in a chokehold. “Pull this off,” he snarls. They stagger over a few steps, Louis gritting his teeth as Harry tries to break free. “Is it because Payne hates me?” he complains, voice edging on an annoyed whine, “Or is it, like, an omega thing?”
Too late, Louis realizes that Harry has got a grip on his leg and this time as he pulls against Louis’ hold, it loosens, the alpha lifting him in the air before slamming his back into the mat, breaking Louis’ grip completely. Harry kneels on the mat, hovering over him with a sneer, “Don’t kid yourself. Nobody thinks of you that way.”
14) You're An Alpha, Harry! | Explicit | 32900 words
Right before Harry goes to university, he presents as an alpha. Struggling with his newfound identity in a completely different environment, he seeks advice from the notorious Louis Tomlinson, an omega whose claim to fame is being the local campus sex expert. Sex Education AU.
15) A Common Place Affliction | Explicit | 36508 words
“You should go home,” Louis muses, and Harry can feel the omega crouch down to become eye level with Harry, poking his cheek with a dainty finger. Harry lifts his arm, taking a peek at Louis’ face. Louis looks tired, he notes, but not exhausted, and there’s an eyelash stuck to his cheek. Harry doesn’t hesitate to lazily reach out and thumb over his cheek.
“Can’t,” Harry croaks, blindly twisting his hand around to grab at Louis’ offending finger and just holding it. “C’mere. Take a nap with me,” he asks after a beat, opening an eye to look at Louis.
Louis raises an eyebrow. “M’not going to nap with you in the middle of the ER, H.”
Sighing, Harry squeezes the young nurse’s finger. “Nobody cares.” He knows they do; they’ll annoy nurses and probably worry patients when they catch sight of a nurse and surgeon sleeping on the job. Let alone in the middle of the emergency ward hallway. Harry can hear the complaints now: ‘these are the people we’re supposed to trust with our lives?’
16) Best Colours For Your Portrait | Explicit | 37717 words
Louis bites his lip in, his eyes leaving Harry's face, they are cast low as he takes a deep breath before sighing, "In solitude, I felt the liberty you spoke of."
"But," The omega glances up, his eyebrows twitching as he brings his face closer to Harry's neck to overpower the alpha's scent with his scent, "I mostly felt your absence."
17) Letters To June | Mature | 41150 words
It's 1915, Europe is in the middle of the Great War. Omega Louis decides to join the Letter Home Project to become someone’s penfriend. Through this he meets a lovely soldier who hasn't got anyone else to send a letter to. Along with his letter, comes a picture of the most handsome alpha Louis has ever seen.’
18) Now I Think That I Could Love You Back | Explicit | 42225 words
“I do not care if she banishes me to my chambers for a month or the rest of the year, you two must see reason,” Louis protests, feeling a minor fit coming on. “He is nothing but an insufferable, cocky, cloddish, pitiful excuse for an Alpha, and he deserves to live the rest of his days in solitary, not me.”
“My, my, what an array of abuse. I surely would loath to be this inadequate excuse of an Alpha you speak of, but alas I cannot relate to possessing such deficiency,” a honey-glazed voice drips out from behind Louis, and the omega can feel the steam pouring over, ready to burst out of his already flushed ears.
19) Untamed Hearts Align | Explicit | 55795 words
For as long as Louis has known her, Lady Margaret Tomlinson has had two aspirations for the remaining years of her life. The first was to out-dress the Duchess of Kent at every soirée and gathering. The second was to marry off her omega nephew to the most honorable – and highly ranked – alpha suitor she could find.
He does not expect for her to arrange a marriage between him and the crown prince, and he certainly does not expect to fall for him.
Everything changes when Harry disappears.
20) It’s Golden, Like Daylight | Explicit | 61496 words
"I actually think you might be onto something.”
Harry’s eyes widened. “You mean…”
Louis nodded. “As crazy and insane as this, this might just solve both of our problems.”
“Are you saying you’re in?” Harry asked.
“I’m in.”
21) I’ve Got You | Explicit | 62988 words
As a reward for saving the king's life, Harry is offered omega Prince Louis' hand in marriage. Neither of them has any interest in the union going forward, and so they concoct a plan to prove to the king that they are far from a perfect match.
22) Heat Wave | Mature | 64000 words
Italy, 2018. Summer in Italy is sticky, especially in Marina di Pietrasanta. Louis Tomlinson, a soft and independent omega, goes to spend his holidays there with his daughter Alice. He has rented a vacation home built on a large estate owned by one Harry Styles, a kind-hearted alpha who is not very fond of children, but he tries.
A lot can happen in fifteen days.
23) Dripping Like Spider Milk | Explicit | 64303 words
When he sees the alpha, his brown hair curling around the top of his neck and his broad back that’s filled out over the past couple of years, Louis freezes for a moment. The alpha turns around, Louis’ surprised expression mirrored on his own for a fraction of a second before he schools it into a big, yet shy grin and a wave of his huge hand. With his nostrils flared, Louis knows that he can smell him, too.
They never hired alphas, except for—
“Harry.”
24) Billow And Breeze (Islands And Seas) | Explicit | 102506 words
It was bright; that was the first thing Louis could recall. With a groan, he winced at the throbbing behind the sockets of his eyes and rubbed his temples in an effort to soothe the pain. Maybe he really did hit his head when he took his tumble. The omega squinted as he looked at the surrounding rolling hills and fog hanging over the countryside. As strange as it was, the world felt different, though it looked practically the same.
Disoriented and confused, Louis padded through the moss and listened for his husband. “Liam?” he croaked shakily.
Nothing but a symphony of woodland creatures met his ears. His footsteps were muted by mossy green grass beneath his feet and soil fragrant as he neared the crest of the hill. At the top, he froze, lips parted in horror and eyes widening at the expanse of empty farmland—not a soul in sight. It had only been less than ten minutes prior that he could see Inverness from the crest, but now there was nothing.
“Impossible,” he whispered to himself, shaking his head in disbelief—his mind not quite able to make sense of it.
25) You've Got A Higher Power, You're Once In Any Lifetime | Explicit | 113444 words
Giving up and letting them think they're right were never valid options in Louis Tomlinson's mind.
In a society full of prejudices, finding a family and being accepted, also seemed like an unrealistic utopia.
Louis sets out to do what no other of his kind ever has before and in doing so, he finds love, friendship and more about himself than he thought he would.

Persistent Identifier (P_ID) and Social Security Numbers
heard COPPA{Children's Online Privacy Protection} talking some shit about Database construction...
In 2013, the FTC ruled that P_IDs may not longer be used in respect to children. HOWEVER, functionally; they made any and all databases illegal.
See, databases work by breaking down information into multiple tables (excel spreadsheets) they link those tables by what programmers call the p_id. Or an id that links tables together, supplying only the information needed for a certain function call, increasing performance, and decreasing wasted cycles and energy.
Every type of spreadsheet-like system uses a persistent I'd of some kind.
From your hospital, to your schools, to your federal databases. And COPPA, makes them illegal. Which means if you can tie a child to a P_ID, you have legal grounds to sue, or to be sued and imprisoned.
In short... They made Social Security numbers illegal for children under 18.
Yes, a SOCSEC number is a P_ID. It is a persistent I'd that follows a U.S. citizens for their entire life. It also makes most, if not all ID containing databases illegal. And makes it illegal for there to be any identifying information collected on any child in the U.S.
Which means; children are no longer allowed to be U.S. citizens.
At which point do they become U.S..citizens then?
Now you may be saying; "but Melin. That's only digitally for like YouTube and stuff"
This sets a legal precedent for any service that is targeted to children. Any, service. Including the Social Security Service.
Or any service that is "Directed or used by children in anyway". Which either bans Children from the internet, or bans every service from children.
This includes your local pediatrician.
To pull a conservative argument; it's a slippery slope and people aren't particularly paying attention to how the part fits in the whole. Or how it will eventually be used to affect the whole by malicious actors.

Thinking about how rogue has no legal existence. She was born in a commune, she’s raised in the boonies first by her shitty bio family then by her loving evil mothers who have an incentive not to have paperwork on her. Any they have is forged and for practical reasons only like for the pediatrician and dentist. Everything on it is fake. Legally in the eyes of the state there is no “anna marie” and there never was.
She only becomes “real” when she attacks the avengers at 17. She was already working with the brotherhood by then let’s be clear but she only gets a file in come government database when she has what is essentially this villain/mutant rite-of-passage. Now she’s “real”.
To the world at large there’s never been anyone but rogue. It’s even implied in places that rogue is a name she got given extremely young, like single digits. young enough that it would quickly feel less like a nickname and more just like her name with how often she got called it. She’s always been rogue.
This is part of why I don’t like when they use Anna Marie in comics or have too many people use it casually. Storm cannot call her Anna Marie. They aren’t friends. Not like that at least. Rogue isn’t a code name. It’s her name. You can flip between them like scott and cyclops or Kurt and nightcrawler. It’s her identity.
I don’t like using the term dead name in regards to her birth name bc I feel it’s misusing and appropriating a term that’s not even fully accurate to the situation— but what’s going on with rogue and “Anna Marie” is a sibling of that concept. There is no Anna Marie. That girl is a long dead concept. She died when her mother died. When she ran away from home at an impossibly young age. You just can’t call her that. No one really has the right to. It’s barely okay when her mothers do it.
Rogue is a constructed person. She is manmade and artificial. But that doesn’t mean that “Anna Marie” is the real true Valid her. She’s not. She doesn’t exist. She never did. It’s fine that rogue is manufactured. Good even. If rogue didn’t carefully map out all her edges, didn’t carefully create the shape of herself, didn’t constantly measure and remeasure her dimensions and sure up her foundations then she wouldn’t know who she is. She’d be eaten alive by every touch she’d ever had. She wouldn’t even be rogue, she’d be a convention center filled with nothing but everyone she isn’t.
She’s not Anna Marie. She’s Rogue. She’s only real when she’s Rogue.

Solutions to Senate Hearing with Tech Execs
(UPDATE: 2/25/2024 7:17 PM - added 2 images, an Excel formula, and the starred sections at bottom, particularly last starred section)
So,
I need to establish a couple of thoughts before getting into addressing the alleged harm coming from social media.
One: One of the things I realized from my teenage interest in being a doctor, compared to my actual attempt at engineering, is that both fields require different methodologies to studying, and producing results, in a career. I believe, to a large extent, you can make a Doctor Robot. But you can't necessarily create an Engineer Robot, at least not until AI becomes more advanced. Why do I say this? A Doctor or pre-med student internalizes a database of medical knowledge. They go through documented possible scenarios in procedure/surgeries. They are essential well trained. Engineering is different because you're not trained for all possible scenarios. You have to come up with something new. You learn a subset of knowledge, to build on that, and create solutions, to be innovative. This contrasts with the medical database a Doctor/Pharmacist internalizes. Not to belittle a high paying respected profession, but if you have a gifted memory, you can match patients cases, with your internalized medical database, and output a list of possible solutions, based on what your internalized textbooks and practices say. You're almost, at least from the perspective of a Pediatrician, always coming up and treating problems that have happened before. Not the case with engineers.
Two:
In my last job, I held a job where direction was so limited, the managers turned it around to "success with navigating through ambiguity" on our yearly evaluations. One one project, what they called a SKU mapping project, I was presented with a task. Ultimately, I had to map columns from two different files to non matching text in a third file. The result had to have a SKU code and a Product Description, determined by a Brand, Flavor, what kind of pack it was (6 pack/12 pack), its weight in grams, from two other files. To add to the difficulty or the vagueness of the task, it was based on a file of 1000 rows. Because, again, the criteria was vague and the rows didn't exactly match, I couldn't use a VLookUp formula or Index/Match in Excel. I didn't want to check every row manually, and then guess, if it matched the vague text in a third file, and then jot down the corresponding SKU code. It didn't make sense to do something if "I thought" it matched. I realized in the process of implementing my solution that Excel ended up spending hours processing my spreadsheets, stating that it's "calculating" in the status bar with a percentage. I don't think, at least me, have ever seen Excel spend hours calculating how much of a spreadsheet it processed. Now the problem may sound poorly described or the task may sound poorly described, but my solution, simple as it may be was:
I copied the data from the multiple files into Excel tabs, kind of like a figurative or symbolic database. I took the columns that needed to be "seen" and "determined" (based on vague criteria), in this case: Brand, Flavor, Pack size, and Weight in grams (which may need to be converted to grams)
I took the text from those aforementioned columns and put them in rows with wild card searchable characters like the asterisk or question mark.
Every column in the top half of the file (with the exception of the first two columns: A+B), from C onwards, listed the various products at my company, with its text broken into the rows below.
Columns A+B listed the mapping output data that I needed to produce. I formed a list form the aforementioned third file and I listed it out. It contained a Product Description that I was going to search the keywords for, and the corresponding mapping SKU Codes.
Now based on the search criteria in columns C and onwards, if the descriptions in Columns A+B contained keywords, from Columns C and onwards, the intersecting row or cell would add a 1. If no match was detected, it would assign a 0.
Whichever cell had the highest value, based on again, the vague criteria preventing a simple VLookup, was assigned the SKU code to the product description not worded perfectly, but matched closely enough.
Tumblr media
-the image shows creating count of searchable terms (listed topRight) in Microsoft Excel & adding aCount ofHits 2 description, on leftHandSide.Along w/help of Name Manager in Excel, I calculated&checked everything in2 1 cell w/formula: =SUM(COUNTIFS($C28,INDIRECT(G$1)))
- with regards to last two tweets, I'm talking about doing this with images on a bigger scale. need a lot of computational power though.
---
So I mentioned points 1 and 2 above. Now, I read the articles on Google News and followed the Senate Hearing of the Tech Execs on CNN on January 31 up until 3 PM.
But how much is the tech execs fault?
On kids spending time on these apps. Things like Likes and immediate results can increase dopamine and continued interest on the platforms. After writing these things, I noticed my mind is active and I need to wait for it to reach a quiet level. That's the onus of the children and their parents, not the tech execs.
On self image, increases in anorexia/bulemia, kids killing themselves over their kids envy of their peers...that again is the onus of users of social media. There is a bigger problem. Kids are now impulsive and have no restraint. If your friend is prettier than your own self perception, that's something that person needs to work on, by changing themselves or adjust their perception.
On drugs, you probably shouldn't buy any kind of medication, whatever you're trying to treat-pain killer or not-from social media, in place of CVS or Rite Aid or even Amazon. That's education that needs to come from parents, common wisdom. Everyone knows you don't walk in front of a moving car. Likewise, it should be common knowledge not to buy any drug (medicinal/recreational) from social media. Does it even make sense? It like people knowing they need to be careful when operating off "Craigs List" - common accepted knowledge. THIS IS THE BIG ONE WHERE SOLUTIONS NEED TO BE IMPLEMENTED. NUMBER FOUR.
On child predators, disinformation about Bin L*den and such, Revenge porn, or children posting salacious pictures of themselves of their peers, companies like Facebook already have troves of data. That existing data and pictures of what counts as genitals and other inappropriate things should fed into a private Facebook server like a dictionary for the machine. Image recognition, not to be funny or inappropriate, should know which curves or spaces are - I'm sorry has to be said - breasts or cleavage. And the detections, kind of like my Excel detection, should keep a count of the number of "Flags" raised on posted content, and it should be matched with different age groups. It really boils down to if/else logic statements and some for loops for checking. If the total count for a particular age group is too high, the content should be removed, and if their parents are listed, they need to be emailed about the matter. "The total count of flags raised" for what's appropriate should be different for different age groups. Little girls shouldn't show off their chests, and if skin is detected in a "particular region" of a picture, that needs to be automatically removed through AI, and their parents contacted. It can all be automated.
iphoneImageDetection/Arkose Challenge IDverify showItsPossible
Tumblr media
iphoneImageDetection/Arkose Challenge IDverify showItsPossible Conversely, and not to express one view or another on this, college woman or woman at a party dressed in skimpy dress, posting themselves on Facebook, should also have pictures scanned by Facebook with Image Recognition, but ALLOWED if their age defined is that of a consenting adult. For people basically saying on social media, "Hey man, you want to buy Fentanyl from me?!", that kind of text should be matched with all the forms and slang of Fentayl, all the ways that question can be asked, and removed from Facebook postings if their is a match or if the total flag count raised is too high. On questionable people contacting your kids for whatever ill intent, parents need to educate their kids. My parents told me, growing up, go Trick or Treating, but don't eat the candy. You never know what people might put in it or do to it or how old it is. Parents need to make clear, don't talk to strangers in reality and in virtual reality. The high flag count search result method should also be used with a Facebook user's postings and photo uploads. Once it crosses a threshold of indecency, that account should be notified as per a REVIEW. High LIKED OR VISITED content should also be REVIEWED. Creates jobs. As per the dopamine high, where the mind is over active, that comes down to limiting your time on social media, knowing yourself and how much is too much for you, and learning mind quieting techniques like the secular Relaxation Response from Dr. Herbert at Harvard. Think about your inhale when inhaling, think about your exhale as exhaling, and when you exhale, say "ONE" in your head or some meaningless monosyllable word. It's that simple. Do it for 5 min after social media use. A less aggravated mind is less likely to compound that agitation with pot/cocaine. Social Media Companies: you don't need 40,000 employees things. Just do some coding and stock up on the data that needs to be stocked up.
I mentioned point one at the top of this post about doctors because you could automate intelligent psychological advice in response to troublesome content posted. It's just taking the postings and images, interpreting the data, matching it to a database of psychological knowledge, and outputting advice. You can even make it comical. "Eat healthy, and you can look just as good as you're friend..." Free speech can still be preserved. *** Updated separately with below
When people say to social media Execs, that "your products are killing people," I'm reminded of Oxycontin from Purdue Pharma. People say that Purdue Pharma knew their drug was addictive and killing people. And they did, and in this context, their argument that people have to make responsible choices doesn't count. The drug is addicting by nature. It's a pain killer. Social media and gaming is a luxury, not a necessity. It is not a drug. Whether you watch too much tv or post, that's a choice under the supervision of individuals and people in their lives.
***
Encourage social media timeouts with a notification and meditate!
Overactive after going through Facebook, X, Instagram? Try doing the Relaxation Response from Dr. Herbert- Harvard. Set aside 5 min, do a conscious inhale, hold breath for 2 secs, do a conscious exhale, followed with saying a meaningless word like "One" in your head. Repeat.
Tumblr media
*** Social Media companies need to have 800 numbers to report users and posts for parents and children. It's not enough with just an email or chat. Opportunity for jobs.
******* Can take computation load of calculating threshold with a mix of server side and client side programming or a browser plugin or some framework like old Java framework download or .net installer for c# programming. Someone logins into something like Facebook, they’re asked to download plugin or can’t login. Or, just pure server side/client side programming where before contentious pic or video clip uploaded, image recognition threshold counter scans and verifies upload of post. Should be easy with racey text.

It's Rest I Want Chapter 2
Dean rolled over, glaring at the red numbers on the radio clock. 5:32 AM. He should just accept that he wasn’t sleeping tonight and get up, but that sounded like too much work. Sam’s apparition had thrown him badly, even though it had only lasted a few seconds. Not even long enough for Sam to say anything. Still. So much for whatever he’d been trying to tell himself. Sam had obviously been haunting him for weeks now.
He flipped onto his back, kicking at the comforter that was now twisting around his legs. Sam was here. Sam had, presumably, been at Bobby’s and in the woods by the pyre too. The last one made some sense, but the others didn’t. Dean rolled the problem around his mind, not really trying to figure out the answer but unable to stop thinking about the fact that Sam was a ghost and all the implications of that. Sam was attached to something, and it was something that had come with Dean from Bobby’s. The car, maybe. Dean winced at the thought. Not that he planned to, but if it came to it, he wasn’t sure he could stand to burn the Impala to lay Sam to rest for good. No. He could. He would, if he had to. But maybe he wouldn’t have to. Sam hadn’t been acting like a vengeful spirit so far. Maybe it would stay that way.
Tossing his arm over his eyes to block out the light from the parking lot, Dean groaned in frustration. He wasn’t going to dig into it, but he knew he was lying to himself. No ghost stayed peaceful indefinitely.
Sam didn’t make any more appearances that day, and Dean was both relieved and bothered by it. Did it mean he couldn’t? Or could he just appear at night? That was common enough.  What about other ghost stuff, like moving things or EVP? He tried not to think about it, with limited success.
He was here to do a job, though, and he needed to focus. Andy Gallagher was an unknown quantity, but people had been killed. Maybe he was dangerous like Max Miller had been, or maybe he was unlucky like Sam, but either way Dean needed to watch himself.
The first thing he did was hit the police station. All the news articles Dean had managed to dig up surrounding the deaths had conspicuously avoided mentioning Andy, even James Gallagher’s obituary. The other people, ok maybe. Dean could see no one making the connection between an old coworker and the guy’s pediatrician. But when he was omitted from his own dad’s obit, Dean’s spidey senses tingled.
Luckily, the police reports were more useful. Dean had to dig through them for an hour before he found what he was looking for, though. The finished reports had been scrubbed clean too, but the files still contained some of the preliminary notes. From there, he headed to county records and between the two managed to discover links between Andy and every victim. Tracy had been more than a coworker, she was his ex. The doctor who shot up the gun store had arranged Andy’s adoption. The woman who torched herself was his birth mother. And the guy who had been stabbed breaking and entering James Gallagher’s house had been Andy’s twin, separated at birth. This guy was bad news, no doubt about it.
Dean pulled Andy’s plates and registration information from the police database and did his best to prepare for a confrontation.
Andy's van was parked just two blocks from the police station. It was a hell of a sight, with a polar bear and a barbarian queen painted on the side. He watched it for a couple hours with no activity, which just served to remind him why he hated stakeouts. If there wasn’t a good chance Andy had killed half a dozen people, he would have gone over and pounded on the back door. Anything to get this moving along. But he wasn’t looking to die today.
That realization alone surprised him, because it had been weeks since he felt that way. His first reaction was horror that he was coming to terms with Sam being dead. Moving on, or whatever. But no, when he probed the aching pit in his soul he realized he wasn’t moving on at all. Sam’s loss hurt every bit as badly as it had the day he died, and if Dean was spending more time marginally functional that was just his liver adapting. The thing that had changed, really, was that Sam wasn’t gone anymore. Not in the same way. It wasn’t enough, not nearly enough, and he wasn’t dumb enough to think there wouldn’t be any consequences down the road. But for now, looking at the empty passenger seat didn’t make him want to leap into moving traffic because it maybe wasn’t empty. Maybe, just now, it was filled by an invisible little brother.
After too many hours spent in a car, the back of the van cracked open and a dweeby looking guy poked his head out. He looked like shit. His beard was overgrown; his eyes were red. Dean thought Andy maybe looked like himself lately. Andy disappeared into the convenience store he had parked in front of, then reappeared not five minutes later with a bag of food. The guy didn’t look like a killer, at least not one who felt good about what he’d done and knew he’d gotten away with it. Dean decided it was worth the risk to talk to him, and he went and knocked on the back door. A breath of cold air on the back of his neck made him think Sam might disapprove, but he pounded the door again anyway.
It cracked open, and Dean was slammed with the smell of weed. Beyond the weed smell there was the scent of unwashed dude and alcohol. Andy blinked at Dean in his fed suit, looked like he thought of doing something for about half a second then thought better of it. “You here to arrest me?” he said, resigned.
“You done something worth getting arrested?” Dean replied.
Andy shrugged, clearly tired and depressed to the point where emoting was too much work.
“Why do you think I’m here to arrest you?” He hoped playing dumb would work. Something had made the police and reporters omit Andy from their stories, and Dean didn’t want to find out firsthand what that was.
Andy fiddled with his sleeve.
“Andy?” Dean pressed.
He fidgeted some more, but Dean saw him check out the surrounding area surreptitiously. Looking for witnesses, he thought. “I only killed Weber.”
Confession out of the gate. That was surprising, but it made Dean want to believe him. The guy just looked so broken up over it. Dean mentally ran down the list of victims. “The guy that broke into your dad's place? What happened to the others?”
Andy winced. “He was insane. Said we were brothers, that we were chosen. He said he'd killed everyone that had come between us.” He shook his head in disbelief. “Who does that? Who finds out they have a twin brother and starts killing people?”
“You did,” Dean said pointedly.
“He wanted me to go with him. To, to... I don't even know. To hurt people.” Andy's voice cracked. “He killed everyone. I couldn't— He had to be stopped.”
Dean clenched his jaw, let that statement stew for a bit.
Andy continued, “He killed my dad. He killed Tracy. He wasn't going to accept no for an answer.”
“The police report said those people killed themselves.”
Andy looked away, fidgeting. “I know.”
“And the reports don't mention you at all, Andy.” Dean ducked his head to meet the guy's eyes. “Care to explain?”
Andy rubbed a hand down his face. “You wouldn’t believe me.”
“I’d believe a lot of things. Try me.”
Andy tugged at his sleeves then shoved a finger in his mouth, gnawing a ragged cuticle. All his nails were bitten down and raw. “I told them to.”
Dean didn’t follow. “Told them to what?”
“To forget about me. To write me out of their stories, out of the police reports.”
Dean frowned. “And they just did it?”
Andy narrowed his eyes to slits and looked from Dean to the Impala behind him. “That your car?” When Dean nodded, Andy said, voice distorted, “Give me your keys.”
It was like the words were heavy in his brain. Without thinking why it was a bad idea, Dean pulled out his keys and handed them over. As soon as they left his hand, the fog lifted and he stared at his car keys in horror.
Andy grimaced and held them out to Dean, palm flat. “Easier than explaining.”
“Mind control? Seriously?” Son of a bitch. He was so in over his head on this one. Andy could do whatever he wanted, and Dean wouldn’t be able to do a damn thing about it. The only bright spot in this shithole assignment was that the guy was still talking. “That guy, Weber, he could do that too? That how he killed those people?”
Andy slumped against the door, nodding forlornly. “It didn’t work on me.”
“He tried?”
“Yeah. And I did too, on him. I, uh, I was there when—”
Oh. Shit. He thought back a couple months to that night in the cabin, watching Sam aim the Colt at John. Dean had begged him not to do it. He regretted that, now, but only because of how things played out. If Sam had gone through with it, Dean would have never forgiven Sam. Briefly, he tried to imagine how that would have felt, watching Sam kill John. “I'm sorry,” he said. It didn't sound right, too stiff, too... something. Too broken, maybe. He tried to get back to the reason he was there in the first place. “You think it didn't work because you were brothers? Or because you were both psychics?”
“I don't know. I don't have any other brothers. Who are you, anyway? You aren’t a cop.”
“If I’m not a cop, why did you think I was here to arrest you?” Dean pointed out the obvious. With luck, Andy would make the assumption that Dean was, in fact, a cop and not use his power to get at the truth.
Andy sized him up. “I figure you’re something like the Men in Black. Or X-Files. Special cops. Except you’re just talking to me and not arresting me for killing Weber. So what gives?” Dean hesitated a moment too long so Andy added, “Dude, you might as well be honest. If I think you’re lying then I’ll just use the Voice.”
Dean swallowed hard and grit his teeth. Spilling his guts under a truth compulsion was not his idea of a good time. So he talked. He told Andy the truth about who he was and why he was there, at least in broad terms. Honest enough but hopefully less overwhelming.
The kid still looked shell-shocked when he was done. “Demons killed my mom?”
“One demon. But, yeah, I think so. Do you know if Weber—?” Dean suspected no, both to whether or not there had been a nursery fire and to the question of if Andy knew. Ansem Weems should have come up in Ash’s search, and he hadn’t. There had been a surprisingly small number of kids that matched Sam’s profile.
It was no surprise, then, when Andy shook his head no. “What happens next?” he asked. “What are you going to do to me?”
That was the question. He made Andy tell the whole story, beginning to end, and Dean had to admit that Weber/Weems had needed stopping. Andy seemed like a good guy, overall, and he admitted that the experience had been a…disincentive to using his powers much.
“Be good, Andy. If you go dark, I’ll be back. But, uh, call if you need anything. Help. I’ll come for that, too.” He hoped it would be enough.
The Roadhouse was largely how John remembered it, and Ellen looked exactly the same. Jo, on the other hand, he barely recognized. She was a woman now, though still so small compared to his boys. She gave him a wary glance from behind the bar while Ellen cracked open a beer and set it in front of him.
“Let me go grab Ash,” Ellen said, then disappeared into the back rooms.
Jo wandered closer.
He didn't say anything, just quirked an eyebrow.
“I remember you,” she said. “You used to come by a lot.”
He nodded, took a pull from the beer. Ellen had given it to him without asking. She'd remembered his favorite back in the day and assumed it was the same now. He still liked the beer, just wished it was something stronger.
Growing bolder, Jo leaned on the bar near him. “Why'd you stop?”
“Things change,” he said. If she didn't know, he wasn't going to tell her. That could be Ellen's job.
She grinned, suddenly reminding him of Dean's swaggering charm, and he wondered why she'd seemed shy earlier. “Mom told me you're hunting a demon.”
“Jo, go grab another case of beer for me, will you?” Ellen cut in.
Jo rolled her eyes and huffed, but she obliged her mom.
“Hard to believe she's all grown up,” John said.
“You stay away from her,” Ellen said, voice harsher than he'd expected. He hadn't planned on— Oh. This was about Bill.
He studied his beer. “She hunts?”
“No, and I intend to keep it that way.” Ellen sighed. “Ash'll be out in a minute.”
He looked at her, noted her tense posture, her folded arms. “She doesn’t hunt, and you don’t want her to, but you’ve got her working in a hunter’s bar? She doesn’t get curious?”
Ellen shook her head. She murmured, “Of course she does. Thinks of hunting as a way to connect to her dad. But I can’t lose her too, John. So don’t go putting any ideas into her head.”
“I wouldn’t dream of it.”
Ash emerged from the back wearing a sleeveless denim shirt and combing his fingers through his mullet, and John tried to understand how this person could possibly help him. The man was obviously still a little drunk from the night before—or had gotten a very early start today—and was one of the strangest people he’d ever met. That was saying something, considering he saw an awful lot of strange in his job. Once they got into the research John had brought, though, he got it. Ash was a genius who hadn’t fit the traditional molds of society, so he found himself on the fringes, just like a hunter. John didn’t have to explain anything twice, barely had to explain some of it once. Ash took the pile of notes and observations and started drawing conclusions that had taken John years to make.
“This is brilliant,” Ash said. “You’ve been tracking the demon like this?”
John nodded, surprisingly gratified to get the compliment. “It’s slow going, and I’m not usually in time to do anything but clean up the mess. Couple months ago I got lucky and saw the signs early enough.”
“But it got away. Dean told me about that.” Ash was dismissive, as though that botched job hardly mattered. “This is good work.” He looked up, earnest. “I can make a program that’ll ping me anytime these signs crop up. It’s not as much lead time as being able to predict where it’ll go next and who it’ll target, but it’s better than nothing. I’ll look into the data going back too, see if I can find a pattern with its appearances and targets. Not all the families had nursery fires, and finding out how many others are out there is going to be like finding stars with Goldilocks planets.”
That was news to him. “What do you mean, about the fires?”
Ash grunted, flipping through pieces of paper. “Dean found that one. There was a psychic out in Oklahoma, turned out to be two people. Twin boys, separated at birth. One had a fire, the other didn’t.” He pulled his computer into typing range. “Both had the same ability, and the one without the fire definitely had contact with Yellow Eyes.”
“That breaks the pattern,” John said, confused and a little angry. “Why would it do that?”
“No idea. That’s what we’re trying to figure out. Your data is going to help, though.” Ash continued typing, mostly ignoring John now. “I’ll call you when I get something.”
John was two states away when Ellen called. “I thought Ash was going to be the one calling me,” he said.
“Have you seen Jo?” she barked.
He saw Jo in his mind’s eye, young and pretty, surrounded day after day by hardened, miserable, lonely hunters. He went a little cold. “No, I haven’t. What happened?”
“She’s just gone.” He could hear her cursing under her breath. “Her credit cards say she’s in Vegas.”
“But?”
“There was a case she was researching, some missing girls in Philadelphia. I—”
“I can be there in twelve hours,” he said.
“John, you don’t have to do that. Ash can watch the bar for a while.”
John thought of Ash running the Roadhouse for any length of time and shuddered. “The man may be smart, but he’d drink you bankrupt before you got back. If you think she’s in Philadelphia, then I’ll head there. I’m closer than you are.”
“I can get a flight out, be there in the same amount of time. I ain’t some damsel in distress needing you to rescue me.”
He grinned. For all that she sounded pissed off, she sounded fond, too, and he knew she was glad he’d offered. “Let me. Watch the bar, keep Ash in line. Hell, see if he knows something. No offense to your girl, but he seems like the one more capable of faking a credit trail. I’ll bring her home.” He swallowed, hoping to hell he would be able to keep that promise.
She called again a few hours later, letting him know Ash had caved. He had, in fact, helped Jo fake a trail to Vegas and confirmed she’d been headed to Philly instead. John had her put Ash on the phone and proceeded to grill him for information on the case. It took a while; Jo had apparently done her homework.
He was impressed by the case that she’d put together, even though all she’d really done was eliminate options. He was less impressed by the fact that she’d set out without backup or any real clue about what she was hunting. When he caught up to her, she was squatting in one of the victim’s apartments waiting for the thing to appear. He arrived in time to blast the ghost with rock salt as it tried to drag her unconscious form into the air ducts.
“I’m taking you home,” he growled as soon as she woke up.
She was still groggy but aware enough that her voice carried venom. “The hell you are! You aren’t my boss, and you aren’t my mom. I don’t have to—”
“Stow it, kid,” he grumbled. “Your mom is worried sick, and you nearly got yourself killed playing bait with no backup.” Without waiting for her response he gathered her bags and headed for the door. He didn’t much care if she followed or not, but either way she was done with this hunt without her gear.
“I’m not a kid!” she said, whining creeping into her voice as she stomped after him. It made her sound even younger than she was. “Besides, Dean was hunting when he was 16.”
He rolled his eyes before slowing down enough that she could catch up and walk beside him. “He was trained. If you want to hunt, then learn how to do it right. Otherwise you’re just going to be upping the body count of whatever you’re hunting.”
Her shoulders slumped. “That would be a lot easier if my mom didn’t shut down the conversation every time I brought it up.”
John considered his response. Ellen didn’t want her hunting, which he understood. Just because his instinct was to train his sons for their own protection didn’t mean Ellen’s feelings were so different from his own. “Maybe someday you’ll have kids of your own, and then you’ll understand that every parent just wants their kid to be safe. What we do to achieve that may be different, but that’s all. She doesn’t want you hunting because she doesn’t want you hurt.”
She slowed down to walk beside him. “And you trained Sam and Dean in the life because?”
“Because I wanted them to be able to protect themselves from whatever might hurt them.”
They walked in silence for a few minutes, finally reaching his truck. “I heard what happened to Sam.” He didn’t answer, and she continued. “I’m sorry.”
He grunted.
“So, what do I do? I get that she wants me to be safe, but I can’t just know what’s out there and not do anything about it. You understand that, right?” She looked up at him, hopeful. He remembered being that young, seeing the world with the optimism that good people just needed to take a stand and eventually bad things wouldn’t happen anymore.
He knew better now. “I get that hunting does a lot of good for a lot of people. But that’s not why I hunt. That’s not why most people hunt. Most of us, we lost someone to one of the things that crawls in the dark. And we hunt to get rid of that thing. Some of them get their revenge and keep going, damned determined that no one else is going to get hurt if they can help it. I respect that. Maybe someday I’ll be one of them, but I don’t think so. This was never supposed to be forever. I want to get the demon, and then I’ll be done.”
“You’d really walk away from the life?” she asked, incredulous. “After everything you’ve seen.”
“I would. This fight has already cost me too much. Once it’s done, I’m done.” He didn’t care to elaborate. She wouldn’t understand anyway. “If you’re going to live this life anyway, at least find yourself a partner willing to show you the ropes. Someone to have your back until you know how to stay alive.”
Dean wasn't sure what he was doing in Indiana. Ash had sent him there, saying it was the last person to match the original search criteria. Of course, thanks to Andy they knew that there were more psychics out there who didn't fit the pattern. An unknown, unknowable number. It fucking sucked. But he was here, chasing his last lead while Ash searched for a pattern. Anything to link Weber, aka Ansem Weems, to Andy, Sam and the others. He hoped there was enough data, not that he really understood what it was Ash did. Tracking, he understood. All hunters did. But Ash worked magic on his computer, and Dean wondered, not for the first time, if Sam would have been like that someday. So, technically, he knew what he was doing here. He was gathering data for Ash. It was just that neither of them knew what data he needed.
In truth, it wasn't that different from a regular hunt. They never knew what was relevant until they saw the pattern, heard the keywords. This was just learning new keywords. He'd talk to this Scott guy and see what came up.
He'd considered going to the guy's house, posing as a reporter or new neighbor, but he couldn't quite settle on a ruse that felt right. They all itched under the skin, felt one size too small. He still wasn't used to doing this alone again. Instead, he tracked the guy to a bar, waiting a few minutes before following him in.
It was busy but not crowded. Dean snagged a seat a few down the bar from Scott and ordered a beer. There was music playing off to his right, and he could hear the crack of someone breaking a game of pool. This was his kind of bar, and he felt himself relaxing in spite of himself. He made casual small talk with the bartender for a bit, watching Scott order a double Scotch and then refuse to touch it. He sat silent, staring at his full drink, and Dean figured this was his opening.
“Change your mind?” he said, gesturing at the full glass.
Scott shrugged, pushing the glass an inch further away. “I'm not really supposed to drink.”
Dean eyed the double, almost said it would have been cheaper to stare at a beer, but didn't. “So, bad day?”
Scott huffed a quiet laugh. “Bad year. Feels like it's coming to a head though, and I don't know what to do about that.”
Nodding seriously, he said, “What do you want to do about it?”
“Drink myself stupid and hope that it shuts up the voice inside my head screaming that I'm special. That there's a, a plan for me.” Scott growled and took a big swallow of his drink, wincing as he set it down.
“Plans, huh?” Dean played dumb. “Overbearing parents on you about college?”
“I wish.” Scott rubbed the rim of his glass aimlessly. He glanced at Dean, obviously considering the anonymity of strangers. “I- I have dreams.”
“What kind of dreams?” He kept his voice neutral. Sam's visions had started as dreams.
“Dreams about yellow eyes. Stupid shit, mostly. But the eyes—” Scott shuddered.
“The eyes have plans for you?” Dean said, hoping he sounded curious. Interested, but not too much. Didn't want to scare the guy off.
Scott laughed. “It sounds so stupid when you put it like that.”
“Hey, people dream about weird shit all the time. Doesn't mean they aren't true.”
The guy looked at him then. “True?” He stared a moment, then went back to studying his drink. “I hope they aren't. The eyes want me to fight a war.”
They drank in silence for a bit, then Dean said, “My brother—” He hadn’t talked this way about Sam yet. Telling Ash was different. That guy didn’t give two shits about who Sam had been, just how his data fit the patterns. Scott seemed like the sort of guy to get overly invested in someone else’s dead brother.
He paused so long that Scott prompted, “Your brother?”
Dean coughed, surprised he felt awkward, more surprised that he wanted to share. “He had dreams too. Dreams that came true.”
“Had? Did they stop?” No disbelief in his voice, only curiosity. Like Sam's dreams might hold answers about himself.
Dean shook his head, throat feeling thick with the words he needed to say. “He died. Couple months ago.”
“Oh.” And Dean couldn't blame the guy for the awkward silence that followed. How was he supposed to respond to that? “I'm sorry.”
The whiskey burned, and Dean focused on that. He didn't want this guy's pity. Hadn't brought Sam up to talk about how he was gone. “It wasn't because of the dreams,” he offered. It hadn't not been, either, but he couldn't explain the mess of visions and demons and how they caused a semi to wreck the car. How they made John decide to give up on Sam.
“Oh. Ok.” Scott didn't know what to say, and Dean didn't care.
The silence stretched on a while longer, and the bar around them started filling up in earnest. Dean wanted to get Scott talking. He didn't want to talk about the disaster of his life, but he knew too well that showing his soft underbelly helped. It made others trust him. “He hated the dreams. Visions. They'd happen during the day, sometimes. He thought—” Dean exhaled sharply. “He thought he was cursed. That anything bad that happened was his fault. All because our mom died in his nursery.” He glanced at Scott, saw the awkwardness of a stranger oversharing had turned to rapt attention. So, he added, “Faulty wiring. It sparked a fire. How could that be his fault, right? He was just a baby.”
Scott put the pieces together almost as fast as Sam had back when they'd met Max Miller. “But that's— No. How?”
Dean raised an eyebrow. He knew, but he needed Scott to start sharing.
“That's how my mom died.”
Bingo. “Really? What happened?”
“Fire, in my nursery. Dad said—well. He said a lot of things that didn't make sense, but. He said there was someone else there. Someone with yellow eyes, like in my dreams.”
Dean was surprised. Not that the demon had been there—it had been standing over that baby’s crib in Salvation, after all, and they already knew it was causing the nursery fires. No, he was surprised that Scott’s dad had seen the demon. Seen it and lived to talk about it. “They get the guy?”
Scott shook his head. “He vanished. Dad said into thin air, but I guess he took off. No evidence of arson, so they ruled it an accident.”
“He let your dad go?” That was the piece Dean needed an answer to. If both parents were there, then why only kill the mother?
But Scott just shrugged. “I guess. He doesn't talk much about that night.”
Dean grunted. “Neither does my dad.”
Scott swallowed hard, then looked over at Dean. “Did yours— Did your mom—” He sighed, frustrated with himself. “Was it weird, too?”
“Weird how?” They were close, Dean could tell. There was something more here, and Scott wanted to tell him. Wanted someone else to know. Dean recognized the look from countless victims and witnesses. People desperate to be believed, needing to share with someone who wouldn't brush them off.
“He said she knew the guy. That she was mad, and yelling, but— But not like she was surprised.” He threw back the last of his drink. “I never believed him.”
A cold shiver ran down Dean's spine. If the pattern held—if they were really all linked, all chosen— If they were the same— No. Oh fuck no. She wouldn't have— Except the demon was there, in their house. Coming for his brother. Psychic ability ran in families and there were no psychic Winchesters. Not Campbells either that he knew of. Pieces of the puzzle were fucking launching themselves together, and he needed to get out of here. He needed to talk to Bobby, to Ash. Maybe that lady he and Sam had saved in Iowa. He wanted to talk to John, even, for the first time since Sam.
If the mothers knew the demon, then it wasn't about the babies at all.

The Ultimate Guide To Medicare Insurance
Medicare insurance is the health insurance program that covers most Americans who have a qualifying health condition. The government subsidizes this plan for those who are lucky enough to live in advanced economies with low or no income. In the U.S., everyone who has a valid Medicare card gets a free copy of the national drug guide, and those with private insurance can get a free pack of pediatrician visits as long as they spend at least $1,200 each year. We’ll take you through everything you need to know about medicare insurance and its benefits before deciding whether it’s right for you. Read on to learn more about this awesome program and how you can participate in it.
What is Medicare Insurance?
Medicare insurance is a federal program that provides coverage for people with high-cost health conditions. The program is managed by the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services, which oversees a variety of other major health programs like the Food and Drug Administration, which regulates the industry as the “medicare” program, and the Alcohol, Tobacco, and Otherheim Supply chain. The basic idea of Medicare is that all Americans, regardless of income, have one free copy of the same health manual, which is called the Medicare eligibles list. This list contains everyone in the Medicare program who meets certain eligibility criteria, like being a member of a certain race, or sex, or having a certain income level. People who don’t meet these criteria cannot buy coverage, but can only opt out at any time. This list is updated monthly, and people can check if they’re eligible by clicking a button on their Medicare dashboard.
How Does Medicare Insurance Work?
The first step to earning access to Medicare is buying coverage. The federal government subsidy for Medicare is paid out of taxes, so people buy insurance on the government’s behalf. The government also maintains a database of everyone who is currently on Medicare, and updates this database as new programs are created. If you have a low income, low or no income, or an extreme multiple of $1,200 a year (or more), you can also call your doctor and ask for an extra “free” test. You could get an insurance coverage reimbursement, or “insure” your doctor, saving him or her money. For individuals who don’t have a high enough income to buy coverage, a government-run marketplace is the only option. This online marketplace is where people can buy insurance. Company representatives are not doctors, and there’s no doctor-to-doctor (MD/D) competition.
Benefits of Medicare Insurance
The impact of a low income on health insurance coverage is vast. A study found that individuals with a low income and no high-risk exposures are more likely to have an accident or experience a serious illness. This can be due to a number of things, like being involved in an accident or having a medical condition that requires medical attention. If you have no access to insurance currently, or you don’t qualify for Medicare, you can apply for “limited” coverage through the marketplace. These are not health insurance policies, but “Employee First” insurance policies, which are good for only $95 a month. You can also apply for Medicare coverage on the VA healthcare website.
Pros and Cons of Each Type of Medicare Insurance
There are a few types of Medicare insurance that are more popular than the others, though they all have their advantages and disadvantages. There are also various other types of Medicare coverage that are not discussed here. Some of the major benefits of Medicare insurance include: Eligibility for certain benefits depends on your income and your level of health. The morewang you make, the more likely you are to qualify for benefits. No minimum monthly payment is required to join the program. This means that people can join the program and pay nothing until they give birth. The program is easy to use. You just select which insurance plan you want, and how much coverage you want, and the system will automatically pay your premiums. There are no co-pays or co-insurance requirements for services like eye exams or surgery.
Final Words: Which Option Is Right for You?
There are many different options for people who want to access Medicare Insurance. The best option for everyone is a thoughtful and well-planned comparison order. It’s best to get all of your questions answered before deciding which option is right for you. In addition to the benefits above, there are a few disadvantages of each type of insurance you pick: Coverage for Vision and Hearing Impaired: The plan you choose for your beneficiaries will determine how much coverage they will have. If you have a vision or hearing impairment, your beneficiaries will not have the same coverage you have. Coverage for Spouses or Children with Disabilities: A spouse or child with a disability may not be able to participate in any benefits at all. This applies even if the individual with the disability is working and contributing toward the plan. Coverage for Children: The plan you choose for your beneficiaries will depend on their age. Some types of insurance will only cover children under the age of 5, while others will allow you to select between paying for coverage or opting out.

Child Neurology Doctor - Your Guide to Finding a Quality Neurologist
Finding a good neurologist is not easy, but fortunately one of the best ways to find the right doctor is through physician reviews. This article will be your guide to finding a quality neurologist near you. Child Neurology Doctor
There are many factors that go into finding the best and most convenient place for your child's neurology. For instance, where they practice, whether they take insurance, and what their fees are like.
When looking for a good pediatrician, it should be noted that pediatricians tend to see more children than adult patients as well as work in smaller groups and/or clinics rather than hospitals or even larger medical centers.
What is a Neurologist doctor?
A neurologist is a doctor who specializes in the diagnosis and treatment of disorders affecting the nervous system.
A neurologist is a doctor who specializes in the diagnosis and treatment of disorders affecting the nervous system. A neurologist finds, diagnoses and treats conditions that affect movement, sensation, muscle control, cognitive function or emotional expression such as epilepsy, paralysis or stroke. Neurologists often work with other specialties including neurosurgeons, neuropsychologists, neuropharmacologists and pediatricians to provide this care.
Finding the Right Neurosurgeon for You
Neurosurgeons usually perform complex operations, so finding the one that is right for you might take a while. KidsCare Paediatric Neurology Centre has made it easier and faster to connect with pediatric neurosurgeons in Melbourne by providing their patients with a list of them.
While finding the best pediatric neurosurgeon for your child is difficult and time-consuming, KidsCare Paediatric Neurology Centre has found a way to make it easier. They provide a database of pediatric neurosurgeons in Melbourne so parents can find the right doctor for their child. This saves time and hassle as they don't have to contact doctors individually or wait for referrals when they are not available.
The team at KidsCare Paediatric Neurology Centre have designed this website to provide up-to-date information on pediatric neurologists in Melbourne so parents can find the right doctor with ease.
Choosing the Right Pediatrician for Your Child with Speech Delay or Speech Problems
When children are born with speech delay or speech problems, the family faces a tough decision - do they accept the situation and wait for the child to grow up with their speech problem? Or do they take legal action against the doctor for malpractice?
When your child is born, you have no control over their future. You have no idea how much progress with time can make. The family may also be faced with a decision about which pediatrician to trust and go to for advice on their baby's condition after learning that one doctor misdiagnosed them.
There are many considerations that need to be taken into account when choosing your pediatrician. These include location, cost, availability of specialists and reputation among other things.
Finding the Best Speech Language Pathologist in your Area
Sometimes, it is easy to find a good pediatrician for your child. However, the same cannot apply for speech language pathologist. If you are going to find a speech language pathologist, it can be very hard to determine the best speech language pathologist from the many available choices.
In order to properly choose a speech language pathologist in your area, you will want to search and compare every part of their profile that lists information about their education and experience. You will also want to read testimonials written by parents who were satisfied with the work they did with their children as well as any professional awards they have received.
Types of Assistive Devices to Assist with Communication or Sensory Impairment
Speech delay and speech problems are two common types of diseases. Speech delay is diagnosed when a child's language skills do not develop at the same rate as his or her cognitive skills, while speech problems are recognized when a child's communication skills are impaired.
There are many types of assistive devices that may help children who have these difficulties. Some of the most common ones include AAC devices, speech-to-text machines, voice assistants, and sign language technologies.
The specific type of assistive device that you should buy for your children depends on their needs and what resources they have available to them.
