Super Paper Peach

After Mario 64, Yoshi’s island, Mario galaxy, Luigi’s mansion, we have now Super Paper Peach!

In this AU, Dimentio switches places with Mimi, and O' Chunks with Nastacia, but only Count Black and Tippi remain the same, we will also have Mrs. D.

And here is the story’s game

Super Paper Peach opens with Count Bleck abducting Bowsetta and Prince Mario and forcing the two to marry. Their union, as foretold by the Dark Prognosticus, summons the Chaos Heart. Bleck takes control of the Chaos Heart and uses it to open the Void, a slowly expanding inter-dimensional rift, in order to destroy the flawed universe and create a perfect one in its place.

Peach is teleported to Flipside by Tippi and is tasked by Merlon to collect the eight Pure Hearts, which are necessary to undo the destruction. Peach, after learning the ability to flip between dimensions, starts his journey with Tippi at his side, traveling to the different worlds to collect them.

During the adventure, Peach reunites with Mario and Bowsetta, who join her in the quest. Bleck sends his minions, Mimi, Dimentio, and Nastacia, as well as a brainwashed Daisy, to attack Peach's group and slow their progress. -

Daisy eventually recovers her memories and is the last to join Peach's group. Peach succeeds in collecting all eight Pure Hearts, but not before the Void grows large enough to obliterate one of the worlds.

In flashbacks, it is revealed that Count Bleck and Tippi were originally lovers Blumiere and Timpani. Blumiere's father, disapproving of their relationship, banished and cursed Timpani to wander between dimensions forever. Blumiere, in despair, took control of the Dark Prognosticus, determined to bring end to the universe. Unbeknownst to him, Merlon found and rescued Timpani by transforming her into a Pixl, but she had lost her memories. The two slowly realize the other's identity over the course of the game.

With all eight Pure Hearts, the heroes travel to Castle Bleck. They encounter each of Bleck's minions but are lost one-by-one: Bowsetta and Nastacia are seemingly crushed by a falling ceiling; Mario and Dimentio fall into a pit; and Mimi appears to kill both himself and Daisy. Peach and Tippi confront Bleck alone; Tippi reveals herself to be Timpani, but Bleck refuses to end his plan.

The other heroes return and defeat Bleck by using up the power of the Pure Hearts. Bleck, returning to his Blumiere identity, urges the heroes to kill him to destroy the Chaos Heart and avert the apocalypse; however, it is seized by Mimi, who seemingly kills Bleck's assistant O’Chunks and brainwashes Daisy into serving as the host of the Chaos Heart. Blumiere and Tippi are teleported away, and the remaining heroes appear overmatched without the power of the Pure Hearts; however, the love between Blumiere, Nastacia and Dimentio restores their power.

Mimi is destroyed but leaves behind a shadow of her power to ensure the Chaos Heart can finish its task. Blumiere and Timpani marry, which banishes the Chaos Heart and reverses its destruction. The heroes, along with Nastacia, Dimentio, and a revived O’Chunks, return to Flipside, but Blumiere and Timpani are missing; Nastacia, Dimentio, and O’ Chunks pledge to create the perfect world Blumiere promised to make.

My dumb stupid “ homework” is done and my job/employment is safe (for now) so why not I give y’all another dimigi idea (dimentio x luigi)

OK this is kind of the same set up as last time in where Luigi, Mario peach and Bowser just finished saving the universe but instead of it being that night he saw dimentio in his dream’s, it took a week for Luigi to hear him in his head

When this first happened, Luigi was scared shitless! at home all alone with Mario not coming back until late in the afternoon the next day!! Which was in hindsight a good thing since it gave him at least a little bit of time to get used to the voice while Mario was not around (that and to make sure he’s not crazy)

That means that once again he doesn’t tell Mario about what’s going on. He doesn’t want to worry him because he saved the universe last week.. (smh) Mario still saw him jump every once in a while, but it’s small enough, in where Luigi can just pass it off as something silly

With that being said if I heard the voice of a villain, that mind controlled me to help him succeed in destroying the universe in my head saying “ how long does it take to style a tiny fuzzy mustache?” I would jump Yelp and spin around, using my comb as a weapon too!

He wouldn’t really be able to pass it off as something silly at such a loud yelp

Ever since that first time dimentio spoke he’s been putting his input on things luigi does in his day to day. At first it was just insults and jabs with an occasional question that isn’t so politely placed. Although, at some point that change to occasional genuine question

And it’s because Luigi always answered his questions, no matter how rudely placed, and when he got his answers, he was fascinated by Luigi’s description of the world and it also got him curious on the green fellow himself

Up the point where he started asking personal questions. When he first did so, it genuinely startled Luigi but for different reasons instead of it just being due to the sudden voice. But just like with any other question, the jester asked Luigi gave him a genuine answer.

“ what is your favorite place in the entirety of the mushroom kingdom?” dimentio asked as Luigi walked down the woodsy path to his and Mario’s house

….. “the casino” Luigi answered hesitantly, his gaze focused on the ground.

It was dimentio’s turn to be surprised causing a laugh out of the jester,leaving luigi feeling warm

at some point, it became less and less questions about the world and more about Luigi

And At some point along Luigis adventure of getting the disembodied voice out of his head, he became well acquainted with said voice although one day they burst out into an argument (Demento said something about his mustache) so when Mario came into the bathroom with a Weegee screaming at his reflection… you can say that he was concerned

And when Luigi explained to him that the split smiled Villain is talking to him in his head…that it didn’t help with his concerns

In fact it did the exact opposite…

Aaand now he’s in peach’s castle with the two worrying over him…then Bowser joined cuz OF COURSE it’s game night so not only Bowser is here but his best friend Daisy, waluigi and wario were there…it was hectic to say the least

So much so that he had to leave the room to get some air

Dimentio was worried in which surprised him because he never thought that he would ever feel worried for the plumber and yet here he is

He didn’t say anything though, not until Luigi’s heart slowed down it was a simple question. “are you ok?”

“Oh Um..ya just not used to being the center of attention hehe”

“Hmm well they were being loud and annoying so I did book it out of there too”

if Luigis Giggle did something to dimentio’s brain that is for him to know and him to know only. “their just concerned… well half of them are” luigi says

“Well I think they should have a bit more faith in you after all you were quite a foe”

Luigi pouts to that yet thanks him nonetheless.

“So what do u plan on doing?” dimentio asked

“Mama Mia I have no clue”

“I think you should march back in there and give them a peace of your mind”

“Hehe….you know what your right!”

“I’m right? I mean obviously but you usually don’t go with my ideas”

“ I am going to kindly give them a piece of my mind”

“Of course” Demento really shouldn’t be surprised but he’s happy nonetheless that Luigi is taking his advice and so with that all being said and done, Luigi stands up and tells the group that they should continue with game night as per usual so he can show them all that he is fine (at least physically)

And so they do

Aaaaaand this post is too long so I’m gonna leave it here and make other posts about these two in this scenario. Sense frankly I have too many ideas

Levels

Below we will analyze each of the worlds and some facts about 'em. Let's start!

Linealand Road

Lineland's Chapter 1-1 is a homage to the original Super Mario Bros. with its level design, which resembled the classic World 1-1 through its positioning of items, ? Blocks, and enemies like Goombas. The music is also remixed from the Super Mario Bros. overworld theme and the Super Mario World overworld theme.

Its skies are full of strange, surreal mathematical formulas, such as (translated into literary form) "Fire Flower is greater than or equal to some kind of Block divided by warp pipe". (As can be seen in the image)

Gloam Valley and Merlee's Mansion

The music of Merlee's Mansion has several interludes full of altered versions of Mimi's theme, however, the theme of Merlee herself is never heard throughout the entirety of Chapter 2.

The password 5963 can be read as 「ご苦労さま」 in Japanese, which means "You've been working very hard". Similarly, 41262816 can be read as「良い風呂に入る」, which means "Take a good bath"

The Bitlands

The Bitlands is a dimension located beyond Flipside Tower's yellow door in Super Paper Mario. It has a unique art style that makes the world look as if it was drawn on a grid, like pixel art. The overworld music in this world is an arrangement of the classic Ground Theme from Super Mario Bros. According to The InterNed, said overworld theme is titled "The Open Plane", while the music in the underground area beneath the two red pipes is titled "Nostalgic Underground", due to it being an arrangement of the Underground Theme from Super Mario Bros.

There is also a reference to the original Mario Bros in chapter 3-1

The Bitlands is also one of only two worlds where there is at least one boss in each section (Bowser in 3-1, who joins Mario's party after being defeated, Big Blooper in 3-2, Dimentio in 3-3, and Francis in 3-4), with Castle Bleck being the other world where this is the case.

Furthermore, including the optional Pixls, Barry and Tiptron, the player gets four Pixls in The Bitlands, which is more than in any other world in Super Paper Mario.

On the fortress that requires blowing up on a red X, there are some enemies that aren't normally attackable due to the fortress being too tall to jump on. These enemies don't require items to defeat though, as one can use Thoreau to grab the Bullet Bill Blaster's Bullet Bills and throw them back. One can also use Dashell, if obtained before Chapter 3, to jump off the fortress before it and use Princess Peach's Parasol to get on the fortress. This allows access to the other side of it that is normally otherwise inaccessible, and the ? Block that is normally destroyed with it can be hit (it gives a single coin).

This chapter is one of the ones with the most references, I will put all of these in a future part :)

Outer Space

Chapter 4 may not take place in the outer space above the , but rather that of another dimension. It was once the location of the kingdom.

If on the second visit to the level the player answers "no" to the prompt to use the space helmet, Tippi will personally attempt to convince them otherwise. After that, if the player says "yes" thrice, she will abandon the player in frustration, resulting in a Game Over. Upon further visits, the helmet is equipped automatically once they pass through the door. (If you want me to write all the absurd Game Overs, leave it to me in the comments)

Land of the Cragnons

It is the home of the Cragnons, a prehistoric race of primitive people with televisions and stereo CD players seemingly made of rocks. It is also home to the enemies of the Cragnons, the Floro Sapiens, who live underground with their king, who is the boss of Chapter 5.

The setting of this Chapter is similar to Chapter 5's in the original Paper Mario. In both Chapters, Mario must venture into a mountainous area (in Paper Mario, it was Mt. Lavalava, and here, it was the Gap of Crag), they both featured a comically-incompetent adventurer accompanying him during the Chapter (in Paper Mario, it was Kolorado, while in Super Paper Mario, it was Flint Cragley), and both had a plant boss (in Paper Mario, it was Lava Piranha, while in Super Paper Mario, it was King Croacus IV). Mario also gets a kind of hammer in both areas (in Paper Mario, it was an Ultra Hammer, while in Super Paper Mario, he gets a hammer-like Pixl named Cudge.)

Near the end of the game, during the final battle with Super Dimentio, the Land of the Cragnons is destroyed by The Void, but is restored following the destruction of the Chaos Heart along with all other demolished dimensions.

Sammer's Kingdom

It is destroyed by The Void in the main story, leaving nothing but an empty white space, but is restored after the story's end.

This land is ruled by King Sammer. It is most notable for being the location of the Duel of 100 tournament, in which challengers face off against 100 Sammer Guys. Only the first 25 Sammer Guys are faced in Chapter 6-1, while the rest are encountered in the three other chapters. However, in the main story, only the first 20 Sammer Guys are battled, and only 30 Sammer Guys are encountered.

In addition to the Duel of 100, Tippi and Tiptron's Tattles mention various other events held in the Sammer's Kingdom, such as the Sammer Guy Break Hour, the annual Sammer Guy BBQ, the Sammy Awards, and the annual Sammer Quiz; however, Mario and friends are unable to attend any of these in person.

The kingdom appears to be based on Japan, with "Sammer Guy" being a pun on "samurai".

According to Garson of the Flipside bar, The Underwhere, 1,500 years prior to the events of Super Paper Mario, the younger sister of Merlumina was entrusted with a Pure Heart, to give to the Sammer Kingdom's ruler to protect. Upon meeting however, Merlumina's sister and the Sammer King fell in love and she stayed behind. The two eventually married and had 100 children. Ever since, the number 100 has been sacred to the Sammer Kingdom.

After finishing the game, the gang may start the Duel of 100 over. As before, Chapter 6-1 has Rounds 1-25. After defeating Sunshine Flood, Mario and co. will be able to continue on to 6-2.

If the player returns to Sammer's Kingdom after finishing the Duel of 100, King Sammer will be found on Gate 1. He will say the Age of the Sammer Guys ended and that he sent the Sammer Guys on a tropical vacation. He also jokes that he will replace them with kitty robots. When Tiptron uses Tattle on him, she reveals he is planning to turn the Duel of 100 Battle Gates into a water amusement park.

During the battle, as the players advance to the next sub-chapter, the number of flags seen on the stage will increase by one (i.e. one flag on every stage of Chapter 6-1, two in Chapter 6-2, and so on).

When the player tries to go to Gate 2 after completing the Duel of 100, they will discover that the door leading there cannot be used, as if it has become part of the background. When Tattle is used on the door, Tiptron will say the door is sealed, which might be because the other Gates disappeared, and they are currently working on the water amusement park there. Oddly, when the player uses Tattle on the very same door while in 3-D, Tiptron will say the player can open it by pressing , the same as her Tattle of any door.

The Underwhere

It is also called World -1 by one of the residents, a reference to the famous "Minus World" glitch from the original Super Mario Bros. Ruled by Queen Jaydes, The Underwhere makes up one half of the "afterlife" dimensions, and is where people who have been neither good nor bad from "all worlds" go when they die. Once there, the people become ghost-like creatures known as Shaydes (a corruption of the word "Shades").

The Underwhere can be compared to the Asphodel Meadows of the ancient Greek underworld, hence its name, which is a humorous play on the words "underworld" and "underwear". Queen Jaydes herself was named for the Greek god of the underworld, Hades, and there are numerous other aspects of The Underwhere taken from Greek mythology (listed below). However, the Underwhere's counterpart, The Overthere, where the sinless can spend eternity as angelic Nimbis, is more heavily based on Heaven than the Greek Elysian Fields. Bonechill's prison, the place where people go when they have been very bad in life, is equivalent to Tartarus, also from Greek mythology, although the fact that he was a fallen Nimbi and his association with ice does bear resemblance to the story of Lucifer, who, according to Dante's Inferno, is trapped in ice in the deepest circle of Hell.

In The Underwhere and its counterpart, The Overthere, many characters or places that are encountered are references to other things, in most cases the names are specifically based off of Greek Mythology.

Shayde, a corruption of Shade

Jaydes, a corruption of Hades

The Underwhere itself, a corruption of The Underworld

The River Twygz (twigs), a corruption of the River Styx

D-Man

Charold, the man who runs the ferry across the River Twygz, is a corruption of Charon

Underchomp, a reference to Cerberus (both act as three-headed dogs who guard the gates to the underworld

The three hags reference the three Moirai, or the Fates, in Greek mythology.

The Underwhere and The Overthere are comparable to Flipside and Flopside

A "beveragarium" that serves milk beneath Flipside is named "The Underwhere"; another one in Flopside is named "The Overthere."

This is the only chapter where none of Count Bleck's minions are fought.

Antics AU

So im currently editing episode 1 of my Luigi Antics Au. As I mentioned in an earlier post it will have all his villains including Mr. L in it. I kind of wanted to go for a comedy relief like thing but also just Luigi being caught in a tug a war match between his villians XD

Luigi X kidnapping

random scene where luigi wakes up tired and just goes “dang it” cause its been like the tenth time this week he’s been kidnapped just leave him alone already XD

Cuts to scene where Mario is like “where is luigi, havent seen him all day” and toad goes “Not again, this is the tenth time this week”

its like more often than Peaches kidnappings and they’re not even worried just sick of it at this point

King boo finding out that if he marries or adopts a star child he will become all powerful

equates to him kidnapping Luigi and trying to force a magical adoption spell on him so he becomes the prince XD (plus if Luigi is his kid he has to listen to him so no more Luigi ruining his plans)

Dimentio being a creepy jerk 24/7

L just being L

Antamsa boarding the “adopt Luigi” bandwagon after realizing that King Boo’s all powerful spell will work for him as well

Luigi’s powers under his forced adoption would make him unstoppable

Luigi is not even scared by episode 12

baby luigi’s yells to go away are just the cutest to them. like, look at this child Luigi thinking he can fight them. he’s like 3 feet tall, adorable.

We're Young and Then We Grow: Part 3

Fic Summary: When she was five, Timpani found a young Tribe of Darkness crying.

[AU where Timpani and Blumiere meet as kids]

A/N: Part 3, otherwise known as just some small events that take place during the game to wrap things up.

She was gone.

She would always be gone.

He would never see her again.

Those were the facts that Count Bleck had to constantly repeat in his mind, from the moment that pixl had spoken to him in Sammer's Kingdom. It was everything about her that had brought the truths he had been so sure of into question, from her voice, to her feel, to her beliefs that everybody in the world had worth and meaning that had led her to come and try to help him again and again.

Even now, he could imagine her coming to him again, a rainbow butterfly filled with little more than righteous justice and a belief that everybody could be helped, everybody could be saved. If that was really her, she would come, and she would do everything in her power to free him from the darkness that had consumed him in the wake of her game's end.

That couldn't be Timpani.

His hands hovered over the Dark Prognosticus. Even in his meeting with the heroes, the dark book was never to leave his side. Just as it had shown him how to destroy the worlds, the book would be able to answer if it was possible that his love, that his childhood friend may have come back to life.

But if the book knew that she was alive, then the book would also know that he would do everything in his power to stop the prophecy to remain so, even if the cost was his own life.

The Light Prognosticus might have the answers. The Pixl herself would have the answers, but to learn from those would mean to face her. Would mean to own up to her judgment and hatred that he couldn't face if she was Timpani.

That couldn't be Timpani.

He had waved it off in front of his minions and Nastasia. For them to see him so shaken up wouldn't matter, but now that he was alone…

"I am so sorry…" he whispered.

"I can't not help somebody who's sad!"

"Anyone with a heart would not ignore an injured soul."

"All living things have a heart. They're all priceless! You can't just erase them."

Her value of the lives of others no matter how different they were was the thing that had allowed the two of them to meet, to become friends, to become more. Now it would be the very thing that would tear them apart.

That could not be Timpani.

"Count!" Count Bleck's spiraling was interrupted by Mimi behind him. Her arms were tucked behind her back, and she was looking down to avoid meeting his gaze. It was clear she was aware of the rules she had broken by choosing to challenge the heroes in Sammer's Kingdom. "Nastasia said you'd want to see me."

He closed his eyes, abandoning his true self once more to regain the mask and confidence that Count Bleck provided as he began to lecture Mimi on what she had done.

The heroes were gone.

Tippi had fallen to the ground. There was no trace left of any of them left behind after Dimentio's cruel attack. Without Mario, Peach, Bowser, or the Pure Heart, there was nothing they could do to stop the Void. There was nothing they could do to stop Count Bleck.

Count Bleck was another matter. With no hope left for all worlds, then there was no reason for her to ignore the aching familiarity she'd felt when he had arrived. Even with the intense hatred she felt towards anything he'd done, she couldn't feel any malice. All she could feel was sadness and loss and a void that she had always known, but only felt stronger than she ever had before.

Had she…known Blumiere before?

Merlon picked her up, putting her on top of the Light Prognosticus. "Are you alright, Tippi?"

"I…" Perhaps it was still simply fatigue from her earlier fainting spell, but something told Tippi that wasn't the case, that it was a stronger unknown that had her so beat. Though whether it was the grief over the heroes or her strange connection to Count Bleck, she was less certain. "I don't know what to do."

"We have done all that we can," Merlon answered her. His gaze briefly lingered to the book beneath her, as though he had hoped that it might hold the answers to bringing the heroes back. "All we can do is hope that the heroes will return."

Tippi had known that was the answer, but she had hoped there was more they could do. "I understand…"

"Is something else bothering you, Tippi?" She hesitated to answer his question, but his concern over her well being had her confiding.

"Is it…is it possible that I knew Count Bleck from before?" she asked. It had just meant to be a question, but saying it out loud, she was confirming it to herself. It wasn't a question of if she knew him, it was only a question of how.

Merlon didn't answer, but she hadn't expected him to. He knew as much about who she'd been before she became a Pixl as she did, only the scattered memories of two children playing in a treehouse to try to guide her.

Those two children…

No, it couldn't be possible. That kind young boy couldn't be Count Bleck.

She wouldn't let it be.

Blumiere was Count Bleck.

The return of her memories just before arriving into Castle Bleck meant she now had to face one single possibility. Her closest childhood friend, her best friend, the love of her life, was trying to destroy the worlds.

And she knew there was no way for her to save him and the worlds themselves.

He'd known it too.

When the heroes had all come back, he'd thrown the battle for them to survive too, and now he was on the floor, injured and tied to the Chaos Heart, and with only one way to make it all end.

Count Bleck looked up at all of them, looked up at her, and finally spoke, "Now…finish Count Bleck. Dispatch me and the Chaos Heart will disappear. The prophecy will be undone."

"Blumiere…" Tippi flew over, and his hand reached out for her, giving her a place to land as he gave her smile, a truer smile than any he had given in all his madness given speeches about the destruction of all worlds. "We've fought so hard…it can't…it can't end like this."

"We were fools to fight against fate." He let out a weak laugh, making her unsure if fate was against the prejudice they'd both faced or the call of the dark book of prophecies besides him. "No matter how many times we'd try, we were always destined to be on opposite sides…to stand apart."

Tippi remained silent, ignoring the quiet whispers of the heroes behind her. "We don't…"

"Timpani…When you vanished…I searched long for you… I searched…and searched…" Count Bleck shook his head, acknowledging his own mistake. "But I never found you. Without you, the world held no meaning or joy. I used the prophecy to destroy old worlds because I wanted to destroy the world that had taken you from me."

She couldn't accept that. She wouldn't accept that. "There's nobody left to keep us apart anymore. We fought so many times, you can't give up now, you can't!"

Count Bleck simply pressed a kiss to her wings. "Count Bleck has done so much evil…it must end. Above all else, the fact that you are still alive despite all of my father's attempts…it gives me peace." He turned away from her, finally giving acknowledgement to the heroes. "I do not have long to live. You must destroy the Chaos Heart before the Void consumes all."

"You're…but…we're finally together again." Blumiere had never given up before now. Even if he was right, even if he was the thing powering the Chaos Heart, it wasn't fair. Hearing him finally give up, Tippi could barely hear it.

Count Bleck smiled. "I want you to live, Timpani. Live the life you would have met if you had never met me, if my father hadn't come after you. It's the life you deserve to live."

The life she deserved to live maybe, but not the life she wanted to live. She wanted to plead with him, to tell him that they'd find another way, that he should want to live, but she didn't have a chance.

"Count, look out!"

They were trapped in Dimension D. They were useless.

They were worse than useless hiding here. Count Bleck was injured, the Pure Hearts were gone…

Tippi refused to give up. "We have to get out of here, there has to be some way…"

Count Bleck sat down on the floor of the dimension, his head buried between his legs. Despite the change in circumstances, the different reason why, when she saw him so hopeless, so consumed by despair, it reminded her of their first meeting so long ago. "We no longer have the Pure Hearts, and without them, we cannot defeat the Chaos Heart. There's nothing we can do…"

Deep down, Tippi knew that, and yet hearing Count Bleck share that realization, she felt more determined than ever before to hold onto that hope. "You're the one who's always been convinced we could defeat the odds! You're the one who's held onto hope even when I gave up." He didn't look up, he barely even acknowledged her. "You promised we'd find happiness together! Was that all just a lie?"

It was that question that startled him out of his hopeless daze. Count Bleck looked over to Tippi, startled. "It was no lie, but…without the Pure Heart, there's nothing we can do."

"You have to snap out of this, Blumiere!" Tippi rammed into him, keeping him from falling back into his despair as he continued to look at her, almost stunned. "How can you think it would end here, after everything we've been through? After every attempt to keep us apart. We found each other because we stayed alive… How can you admit defeat!?"

He'd been the one to keep hope after she'd forgotten all about him. He'd been the one to hold on when she'd pushed him away. The Prognosticus may have changed him, but she knew, somewhere in him was the same man who had fought tooth and nail for them, and would do so again if he remembered just who he was. "I will not give up. You promised we'd find happiness together. You promised!"

Before she could say anything more, or he reply, his minions had arrived, and with them, the answer to their question on how to take down Dimentio.

They had found hope.

"Will you come with me to that place now?"

"Blumiere…of course… I will always be with you…"

Their wedding had been a small affair, but quite possibly the most important wedding in all of existence, given its power to destroy the Chaos Heart. They had woken up in a place far away from everyone who had ever tried hurting them, and yet closer to home than they'd been in far too long.

It was different from how their fort had been in Timpani's last memories. The floors which had been barren for years matched the memories of her childhood, with blankets and pillows strewn about it in every which way, creating a soft, rainbow spread across the treehouse floor.

They sat down on the floor, leaning into each other as their hands held each other, neither quite willing to let go for fear that they would never see each other again.

"It feels so strange to be back here after so long." Timpani smiled. Blumiere nuzzled into her, burying his face in her hair to plant a quick kiss on the top of her head. "When your father sent me away, I never thought I'd see it again."

"I didn't think I would either," he said, his voice soft and muffled by her hair. "Even when I'd return to take breaks from my search, I couldn't come back here. Not without you."

"You don't have to come back here without me again."

"I know," he said. She could feel him smile in her hairline. "So long as you'll have me, so long as you forgive me, I'll always be by your side."

Timpani didn't say anything, just leaned back into him further. She caught him off guard, and the shifting of her weight caused them both to fall back into all of the blankets with a laugh.

Years ago, the treehouse had been a fort because Blumiere built it to be the only place they could be together.

With his father gone and the world saved, at least for now, it would finally fulfill its purpose as being not just a hideaway, but as the place where they would start their new lives together.

It had taken so many years for them to get there, but now, the future finally looked bright.
