Y'all know the score, post if you've got 'em, and if not, just enjoy!
from stars through my fingers like grains of sand
The remains of lunch were scattered across the table. Knowing how even a short dogfight could take it out of someone, Sam had flat refused to let Cait cook. Wasn't like she hadn't already prepared a week's worth of meals already; all he had to do was reheat a few. "I'm telling you," Cora repeated patiently, "we all need secret identities. The sidekick always has a name related to the hero."
"So what are you," Sam teased. "Insectikid?"
"Young Mantis!" Cora countered.
"Too derivative," Sam chuckled. "The Spiderette? The Caterpillar?"
"Da-ad!" Cora gave him an exasperated look while Cait sat back quietly and smiled. "Mantises don't come from caterpillars."
"So what do they come from?" she asked logically.
"Nymphs," Cait offered.
Sam shook his head. "Nope, vetoing that one right now." His daughter was too young to be 'nymph' anything.
Cait tilted her head, thinking, while Sam and Cora tossed even more ridiculous names back and forth—and not just for her. "I don't need a name," he argued. "I'm not the sidekick."
"The fearless partner," Cait murmured, low and amused.
"Auuuugh! Dad, that's not how it works! If you're the partner of the Mantis, you can't be just you! You might blow her cover, or someone could use you to get to her!" Cora got up and was pacing back and forth, throwing her hands around in a twelve-year-old frenzy.
"If I might?" Cait was turning something over in her hands, and she had a wry smile on her face. "I think I can solve both these conundrums." She looked over at Cora. "For you? The Phasmid. Phasmids are related to mantises, but sneakier."
"Ooooh, I know what those are!" Cora enthused. "They're ambush predators that look like other things, like leaves and sticks and flowers!"
"Or in your case, a twelve-year-old girl," Sam teased. "Waiting to strike against any unwary library or bookstore that might pass her way."
"I LOVE IT!" Cora bounced over and gave Cait a hug. Cait, for her part, seemed to be getting used to Cora's adolescent enthusiasm, and returned it less awkwardly than usual. "So what's that?" Cora pointed at the thing Cait was fiddling with.
"Something I found in one of the abandoned bases we were exploring," Cait said, laying it on the table. It was a hand-written card; on yellowing paper, it read:
MERC FOR HIRE HAVE GUN, WILL TRAVEL SSCOM: 1957PDIN
Sam looked down at it, then back up at Cait, raising an eyebrow. "Seriously?" He'd been a fan of the classic vids as a kid, of course, had thrilled to the adventures of Josh Randall, Agents James West and Artemus Gordon, and—of course—Paladin.
She shrugged. "Aren't you always telling me to go big or go home? Besides, we've resurrected one legend today, why not two?"
Sam felt a slow smile cross his face. "I do cut a dashing figure in black…" He slapped the table in sudden decision. "All right. Let's do it. The Mantis and Paladin, partners in anti-crime."
"And me!" Cora piped up.
"And our fearless sidekick the Phasmid," he agreed. Drink packs were awkward for making a toast, but they managed to slosh them together anyway. "May all our victories be as sweet," Sam declared.

YOU 🫵 believe in the dancer emmanellain agenda
Tumblr media
reasons why emmanellain de fortemps should transition to dancer as his primary class [several points about the implications for him and sicard at the end]
CANONICALLY emmanellain is very very good at dancing (normal) is it really that hard for him to start dancing (with blades). he would be so good at it he already knows the moves and the vibes
a lot of emmanellain's struggles come with feeling the pressure of being put into a box he does not fit! he's seen as a failure because people didn't see or didn't care about the things he is good at! the firmament quests show he IS good at making allies, he's friends with the redbills, he helped lighten the mood in broken glass! he's great in a social scene, he's perfect for lightening a mood, and i must stress he is CANONICALLY very good at dancing
he HAS grown as a knight, and i'm very proud of my cringefail baby brother, but i think it would be very healing for him to branch out from ishgard and heavy armor to pick up something more freeing (and also he should come to tural with us emmanellain dt sweep)
i could see him fitting in great with the dancer quests
please god we need more PHYSRANGED CHARACTERS in the msq,,,,, ephemie and aenor cockburne i owe you my life,,,, and they are BOTH bards,,,,,,,,, pls the archer to paladin pipeline is ruining the economy and i need dancer and machinist rep
tangentially related YOU 🫵 want emmanellain and sicard to join the b team scions it would be good enrichment for them
emmanellain in neo-ishgardian top of aiming. emmanellain in the lunar envoy aiming gear. emmanellain with the ivalice hairstyle so he still has that hair popping up but he can wear the pretty endwaker dancer relic gear bow. emmanellain happy and spinning around in thavnairian armlets. consider this
okay time to talk about sicard
CANONICALLY emmanellain steals sicard's clothes. sicard wears aiming gear. they could share aiming outfits and emmanellain could wear his boyfriend's pretty v neck into battle instead of the full coverage fortemps armor are you seeing the image
can you imagine how much worse (better) emmsic would be if they were ranged dps boyfriends
overwriting your boyfriend's tactician with shield samba in front of the whole party to prove you're more useful is a love language
sicard walking into the dungeon ready to tease emm about picking him as his dance partner only for emmanellain to dp the tank
:> what's wrong why are you making that face?
i...... i'm dps........... i thought i was dance partner >:(
dps stands for dance partner sicard i cracked the code
sicard feels slighted by this and suddenly starts eating food and using potions from his hotbar and he has the perfect opener to show off how competent he is because he thrives in competition
imagine this. post island sanctuary conversation about responsibility both of them decide to pick up Jobs [tm]. they have a break between contracts and when they meet it's clear that sicard spent some time in ishgard with ilsabard contingent friend stephanivien and got a machinist starter kit and it's clear that emmanellain went to limsa and almost ran away with a traveling dancer troupe
me and my boyfriend and his new six foot tall robot gun mermaid is this anything
thank you for coming to my ted talk vote emmanellain de fortemps for new job change into dancer

Happy Webcomics Day everyone!!! today's the day where i wildly gesture to my big work in progress project that i am gunning to begin the prologue on by the end of the summer!!! (this is subject to change especially because I am planning on doing artfight this year.) alas, i am trapped in location design hell and have so many places to design before i can properly start, so for now y'all get a pitch, a poster, and some style tests!
i've been reblogging content from the official blog, @mind-or-matter for a while now, and if you haven't already you should totally go follow it for progress updates, concept art and character designs, and an askblog to tide you over if you wanna interact with the cast and get to know them more!!! it's a fun time!
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Now what IS mind or matter all about? glad you asked! Mind or Matter is a DnD-Inspired (and by that I mean it's directly based off of 2 DnD games of mine) fantasy webcomic about 3 college age students, Penny, Zenith, and Chronicle, who end up drifting apart from their once close friendship in high school and get thrown into a multiverse-spanning adventure that calls their dynamic into question!
The comic follows two parallel plots, Mindfarers, and Event Horizon! Mindfarers follows Penny, a dragonborn wizard who's hired as an intern at the Mindfarer headquarters stationed in Nexus, the crossroads city of interconnectivity between the known multiverse - they dive into various people's internal mindscapes, helping them work through their internal struggles through visualized metaphor!
Meanwhile, Event Horizon follows Zenith, a thoughtborn paladin recruited to travel across the astral sea on a small spacefaring ship with their newfound ragtag found family, fighting various space monsters and investigating a wider mystery that may be more intertangled with her friends back home than she'd like to think. Chronicle, the third member of their former friend group, remains at home in college, desperately wishing for a return to what she remembers as normalcy.
Mind or Matter is rated T for cursing, depictions of mental health and various traumatic events, and occasional dips into psychological and surreal horror- this comic is primarily about mental health and it'll visualize it!!
Tumblr media
Follow the official tumblr or my main blog for more updates on concept art and eventual release dates! i'm really hoping the prologue can be started by the end of summer but with Various Life Things and the truly ABSURD amount of locations i need to design for arc 1 (and also being an art student) i gotta take things at my own pace!

Yesterday I had a quick encounter with a melvin stan and wow, they're so sure in their ship being endgame. That was a traveling day for me so I had plenty of time to sit and look out the train window and think about why Byler is gonna be endgame. And I still think it's inevitable.
Tumblr media
I think one of the reasons why Will and Mike are much better compatible than Mike and El is their... archetypes? OK I don't know how to name it correctly but the thing is that Mike is a Protector, the Paladin, the Leader of the party. He used to have that role in the first two seasons and that's where he was in the right place. He was the protagonist and we all loved him for being in the center of the search party and then by Will's side in the lab.
Through all the seasons Will has been a "damsel in distress". He's not a coward though, in the very beginning of the show we see him trying to shoot demogorgon / Vecna / whatever that was with a gun. Despite being bullied his whole life Will was ready to stand up for himself but the events happening to him were just too terrifying for a little boy. And Mike was there for him, never being overprotective.
Tumblr media
In S3 Mike lost his position as a protector. He started to date El and she is not a damsel in distress. She needs some help so she could learn how the society works and how she can fit in, but she doesn't need protection, she's very much the knight of her own. And when Mike tries to get back to his position trying to stop her from searching for the Mindflayer, his efforts are found being annoying. El is her own person Mike, go away. He sees it over and over until in S4 Mike confesses to Will that he doesn't believe El needs him anymore. And when at the end of the season Mike tries to help El by telling her what he thought she wanted to hear, we see him being unconvincing, because sitting there holding her hand saying "baby you can do it" is not his position. He is the one who fights but not this time. Actually Mike will never be a protector or a knight while he's in relationship with El because she is a fighter. And he is a side-kick and that affects his self-confidence.
While it's Will who will always need Mike. It seems so obvious what's the best outcome of this love triangle that I can't imagine the end being different than Byler endgame.

My Fallout OCs !
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Made using [https://picrew.me/ja/image_maker/1473879] and edited on ibispaintx
Alice Truman is my Sole Survivor character. Also known as Sentinel Truman. My headcanon is that she was a soldier in her life before the war instead of Nate, and he was a lawyer. She joined the BoS because it felt the most familiar to her but also helped out the Minutemen quite a lot, but decided it would be best for Preston Garvey to become the general instead of her. After a few years of working with the BoS, she retires and lives out the rest of her days as a happy little family with her husband, the now exiled Paladin Danse and the synth child Shaun.
Nevada Sinclair is a wanderer from the Capital Wasteland who finds herself in the Commonwealth around the time the sole survivor emerges. Her parents worked with caravans her entire childhood so she was used to constantly travelling. Hell, she didn’t even know where she was actually born. Somewhere on the side of some road, probably. When her mother started to become ill, she and Nevada’s father decided to finally settle down somewhere and make a little farm for themselves. They lived a “good” life for a few years until the sickness finally took Nevada’s mother. After that, her dad taught her everything she knew; how to shoot a gun, tend to wounds, cook basic dishes, and everything else you’d have to know to survive out in the wasteland. He even gave her his own jacket, which he tore the arms off of to fit her better. Well, one day, Nevada went out hunting. When she came back, she found her father leaned back in his chair with blood gushing from his forehead. Someone had murdered him. It was precise, calculated. Nothing in the house had been disturbed, it must have been a sniper. But why? Why would someone want to end him, specifically? If it were raiders, the whole house would’ve already been stolen. She buried him out back with her mother then packed her things and left. She wanted to find who did what they did and why, as well as some sense of meaning in her life. She took on many odd jobs, trying to make ends meet but things would change for the better once she meets the sole survivor.

I love Tales of Maj'eyal cause in the main campaign you travel to the east and there's these humans and elves lead by a paladin order fighting orcs all the time and you have to go and get orbs from the different orc prides and you basically end up killing all the orcs yourself but THEN in a dlc campaign you play as part of a hidden group of orcs years later after "the scourge from the west" nearly wiped you all out and the campaign involves killing the paladins and freeing orcs from internment camps (and also the orcs have guns). Like yesss perpetuate the cycle of violence

top 5 glams (for any of ur lil guys)
I'm logged into Surkie rn, so that's all I'm posting lmAO
u h.
1.
Tumblr media
This outfit's fun because in in-game terms, it was originally supposed to be a dragoon glam that I didn't really vibe with but it wound up being an AMAZING paladin glam and just casual tanking thing that became part of Surkie's canon wardrobe. Basically it was her first dark knight look, it became her main look during stb and for anything that didn't involve heavy combat in post stb-post shb (that's where the behemoth king set comes in), and it remains her traveling and often casual clothes. I just really like how the Holy Rainbow shirts look <3
2.
Tumblr media
THE ZONURESKIN LOOK okay so technically i made this in post shadowbringers, but it kind of backdated itself and became her Look through post-stormblood and shadowbringers if she dared to do stuff with dragoon, and tbh even into endwalker and now dawntrail. Obviously given the look's inspiration since it's a reprint of the Ala Mhigan set (fending but swapped to maiming), it's definitely something she got in Ala Mhigo and honestly probably something Lyse helped her get to better reinforce her side after the numerous injuries that threatened her ability to be a dragoon. Weapon for this is Dreizack Recollection, which was restored by her sister, Altan, and given to her and she Will Not abandon that spear because of that sentimentality. It continues the trend of maiming being white for her since it started as dragoon so it was just better for muddying up her silhouette when in the air (but also white to her is more the Death Color than black is because of her upbringing) but it's just become her Thing as the "Azure Dragoon Cloaked in Ivory".
3.
Tumblr media
The Troian set >:3c This is Surkie's new heavy combat look as of post-endwalker when UT completely destroyed her old armor (not pictured at all). Admittedly, this has been in rotation the shortest but I got super attached to it. It's still on my WAR glam, but it just feels more in place with "active excursion in the void" versus "low stakes jaunt around Tural", hence the swap to the Edenmorn gear (also not pictured). I'm pvp pilled, so ofc the archfiend gauntlets are actually on the glamour plate. Love Cylva, so ofc we have the Deepshadow axe (modded somewhat), and it's just...a really fun look that I'm obsessed with since I could never wear something like this in other MMOs as a fem player. Lots of gender euphoria, you see.
4.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Ala Mhigan Striking my beloved. YEAH I love the Ala Mhigan/Zonure/Ovim set A LOT and I've used it quite a bit, and frankly the Ala Mhigan striking is SUCH a good piece for this. Also really love the Crystarium knuckles for this (the sam side is fine, just not as good without the knuckles but at least you can see the gloves), and the Moonward boots. Sorry, Edge, Surkie just wears your boots better 🤷 Also love how her arm and scars appear through the one sleeve, just TASTY. (yes the sword is modded, leave me be). Another thing Surkie likely got in Ala Mhigo that I'm probably gonna canonize, this time through W'khittri. It also continues maiming's trend of white relating to death, but it's got that balance of white And black (which she's always seen as more noble and benevolent due to Nhaaman influence)
5.
Tumblr media
Deepshadow and Troian just the other way around now. Hat's modded, leave me alone, but yeah so uh. This is a modified form of one of Lillith's glams, it just wound up working better for Surkie. You could argue it's still the black = Nhaama stuff, but this honestly leans more into the conscious edginess she picked up from Eorzean influence around the colors. Also the most brown I use in any glam. IDC if the Shiva gun conflicts, it took me Way Too Fucking Long to get the damn thing (before enw came out and the coffers eased that process Considerably). Also she summons it, so it's not like she has it visible at all times. ...Yeah, anyways it's like an Amano cowboy and I'm here for it.
Also a sprout called the vanilla form of the outfit (which isn't too different) cool so I Win.

posting rhis bcs @first-base-ace asked for more - ~1750 words..
again this is something cross posted fom ao3 and this js a separate work in a different world w a rouge reader
Two Warriors. Two Paladins. One Warlock. You, a Rogue. Your party should have been enough for the Dungeon, but what none of you planned on was the boss not being one. Sunrise and Moondrop – the six of you had heard of them, of course in your extensive research you’d read plenty about them.
They are supposed to share a body, and it's a roll of dice as to which one you battle. It’s not. You aren’t sure who, why, or how they’d managed to split bodies, but they had been split, and with that their power doubled.
The party scattered after one Paladin fell at the hands of Sunrise, it was clear the remaining five of you were dead meat. The fate of your comrades eludes you to this day, and you could only hope they are safe, wherever they are.
In the panic, you slipped into the shadows and crept back the way you entered. It was sealed shut, rocks and stones and boulders locking you in. You were doomed. Trapped with bosses and other various demons that would soon revive and be out for blood. Without much more to do, you had crept back into the boss fight room. Sunrise and Moondrop had returned to rest, no longer argoed on anyone. The cripled body of your friend was nowhere to be seen.
Days turned into waking nightmares, nothing happened. Neither Sunrise nor Moondrop had sensed your presence, and they lived their stupid lives unaware of you cloaked in plain sight.
A group of travelers wandered into the cave, you were weak and hungry, but you didn’t approach them. The travelers fought their way to the center of the cave, where Sunrise and Moondrop dwell. It was obvious these humans were underprepared for this fight, and their ends came quickly in a blur of red.
You watch as Sunrise riffles through the clothes on the bodies, plucking out shiny coins, he takes his handful of money and returns to Moondrop. The two rest on the highest part of the cave, a little plateau they share.
When they get caught up in themselves you creep to the bodies of the travelers. Sundrop hadn’t looted any food or drink from them and for that you sent a prayer to whichever god would listen.
A couple packs of dried fruits and meat, along with six bottles of water. This could last you a week.
Time passes linearly, as it does in your realm. You’ve yet to escape your confines, parties come and go through an entrance you can’t find and an exit you don’t wish to cross.
Sunrise and Moondrop get attacked by the week, and yet they reign supreme everytime. You almost grow desensitized to being with them. Sure, they're almost twice your size, but they’re quiet and gentle with each other. When Moondrop speaks with Sunrise, in what you think is Gutterspeak, he does it softly, and with love and admiration. You feel like a voyeur at times, just looking at their love. While you know very little Gutterspeak (a language reserved for demons and the wicked) some words make it through your mind, none with any true meaning, mostly prepositions.
Their fighting truly amazes you. If you ever make it out of this vile cave you're trapped in, you would put to use some methods you’ve seen them perform.
You lose track of time quickly here, but you think it might be around midnight when the most recent party of fighters run into the cave, guns blazing.
Instead of staying to watch the fight, you, as you always do, desperately try and see where they could have come from. Still, an impenetrable wall of stone. You shouldn’t be disappointed, it happens everytime, but you are.
Being confined and cloaked all the time makes you feel like you’re going mad.
You make your way back into the main room, where a Shaman has already fallen and a Warrior looks to be on his last line. A hunter and his wolf seem to be doing on the better side, along with a Priest who is desperately trying to keep their Warrior alive.
Eventually the wolf and Hunter are the only ones left standing, they’re shooting arrows so quickly their hands are a blur of motion. The wolf snarls and whines as his movements slow.
Then the unexpected happens, you’re struck. An arrow peires you right in the center of your abdomen, breaking your invisibility. You gasp, hands moving to the arrow. What the fuck.
This, obviously was unexpected from all parties, Sunrise and Moondrop paused their fighting to stare at you for a second while the hunter was hastily attempting to heal their pet. Once the wolf’s health was above halfway healed, Sunrise and Moondrop fell out of their stupor and resumed their battle.
You back up onto the rough cave walls and slide to the floor. You’re pretty sure that you’ll survive the shot, but what's to say Sunrise and Moondrop won’t take you out after their fight. The energy in you is drained and strained from your wound.
You can’t disappear from this, you can’t cloak yourself with your energy this low.
All too quickly the fight ends and Sunrise and Moondrop are slowly making their way over to you. Their stances aren’t hostile, which is a mild relief.
Moondrop reaches you first, kneeling cautiously in front of you. His face tilts to the side curiously.
Sunrise looms behind him, and you can hear him take in a deep breath.
“Who are you?” Moondrop asks as his hands wander to your wound.
You wince as his large hands touch the area around the arrow.
“Y/n.”
“You live here?” Sunrise questioned. “I didn’t notice at first, but your scent is all over this place.”
“Always assumed it was buildup from others of your kind.” Moondrop backed Sunrise up.
“Yeah, but I can leave if you just show me the way. The entrance is sealed shut and I can’t find an exit—.” You’re speaking rapidly, panicky.
Moondrop merely hummed, and gripped the arrow firmly. He looked over his shoulder at Sunrise and spoke in Gutterspeak, and Sunrise nodded and walked off with a purpose.
You hiss in pain as Moondrop yanks the arrow from your gut. He throws it to the side as Sunrise comes back with a medkit.
The two of them patch you up, only communicating with each other.
You’re confused, but not complaining as you get lifted into Moondrop’s arms and are taken up to their bed. Sunrise shadows the two of you, sitting on the edge of the bed as Moondrop tucks you in.
Eventually the silence lulls you to sleep, and you only stir when Moondrop offers you a satchel of water.
The next day passes in a confusing blur of Moondrop taking care of you and Sunrise simply observing you interact with his lover. His gaze is unnerving, and you’re a bit uncomfortable, but you’re alive and beggars can’t be choosers.
It’s obvious Sunrise is apprehensive of you. Moondrop clearly cares for you in some way, with his nervous hovering. The two of them refrain from speaking Common around you.
Bedrest is nice, but you’re getting hungry, and your stash of food is hidden in a creavese on the other side of the cavern. You slid off the bed tiredly and Sunrise’s eyes follow you as you do. You climb down from their platform and onto the hard rock floor.
Sunrise trails behind you as you locate some dried meats. You look up at him and offer a piece of stag meat. He takes it cautiously and gives it a sniff.
You nibble on your piece as you watch Sunrise take a small bite. You’ve sat down on the floor, still weak from your wound. He sits across from you.
“Why are you here, Y/n?” It’s the first time he’s spoken to you.
“I can’t find a way out.” It's a simple answer, but there isn’t much more to it.
Sunrise hums and leans forward, “not that. Why haven’t you made a move against us? We’ve been exposed for months without realizing it. You probably could have taken us if you wanted to.”
You tilt your head as you think of what to say to that. “I don’t think I could have taken you for one, but being here is a nice change of pace. I’ve started feeling safe.”
“That’s not smart. Not around us.”
“Moondrop had been tending to me.” Petulance bleeds into your tone.
“Moon is moved by his heart… he likes tiny things like you.”
You nod.
It’s deafeningly silent as you continue to eat. Soft footsteps let you know that Moondrop is coming back into the room. He spots the two of you, and makes his way over.
“What’s going on?”
Sunrise glances up at Moondrop, “just talking.”
Moondrop merely makes a noise of acknowledgement as he walks over to pluck you up from the ground. You make a small squeak as you are taken into his arms. He drops you back into his bed.
“You should be resting.”
“Moondrop,” he stills at his name and his eyes focus on you. “What are you doing?”
“Taking care of you.” It’s a calculated answer, but not what you’re looking for.
“Why?” You prod.
“You’re a good one,” he says after a minute. “You didn’t deserve to be injured. And,” he pauses in embarrassment, “you’re cute.”
You reel back a little, blood filling your cheeks, painting them a rosy pink.
Moondrop puts a hand up to your face and cups it gently.
“Sunny will come around soon. He likes you, but ego won’t let him admit it.” Moondrop snickers to himself.
You reach out and grip his baggy pants with one hand, feeling a bit drowsy by his presence. His eyes squint into a smile and he brushes a kiss along your forehead.
“Sleep tight, little Rouge.”
Sunrise does come around by the fourth day, he approaches you with a fresh apple, holding it out to you. You had accepted the proffered fruit with a small ‘thank you.’ From that day forward Sunrise was open with you, in affection and with words. He’s nice, as nice to you as he is to Moondrop.
Speaking of Moondrop, he’s grown infinitely more protective of you. He always makes sure you know he can help you with whatever you need; whatever you want.
You’re still stuck in the blasted cave, but it's so much better having Sunrise and Moondrop with you. Just talking to them helps you feel a bit more sane.
Being around them fills you with something you didn’t know you were searching for. A warm, fluttery feeling in your entire body.
Love.

Stiff! Okay so, after seeing your posts about gw2 I’m kinda curious about the game and wanna try it so uh,,,
What’s a good starting point? Any tips with classes? Also, is it smart to bite the bullet and get the expansions or nah?
ANXNDJSKSJ LITERALLY NADE MY DAY WITH THIS QUESTION.
Okay so the starting point exactly where you start the game. Depending on the race you pick you will start in a different starting zone, but you can travel to the other ones as well! You can explore it all! Try to walk around the maps, complete the hearts (quests), find vistas and points of interest and collect hero points. Just explore.
Also, every 10th level you will unlock a part of your personal story. I would personally do that because not only is the story pretty good, it also gives you some nice rewards and you learn more about the world you're exploring.
I would definitely not buy the expansions right off the bat. Play the game and see if you actually like the combat style and how this game works.
When you hit the max level -80- you can get the expansions and do much more stuff than when leveling.
The expansions however don't include the living world seasons which you have to be buy separately.
However, if you don't care about going chronologically with the story, I'd definitely recommend playing the first instance of Path of Fire (PoF, the second expansion) as you get a raptor right at the end of that instance.
Then you can go back and do Heart of thorns (HoT, the first expansion) where you get a glider.
Now a bit more about the classes under the cut:
Each class has 3 different specializations for each of the expansions and they give you a new way to play the class!
In gw2 most of the classes can do basically any role - healers, boon support, dps or some combination of those!
Warrior - pretty standard, mostly close range weapons, heavy hitting.
Guardian - something like a paladin! Has great support abilities, close range and long range weapons and can do some serious damage.
Revenant (my personal fave) - another heavy hitting class, mostly close range, uses the powers of dead heroes from the world.
Ranger - pretty self explanatory, has a pet! Mostly long range weapons, traps and spirits.
Thief- lots of mobility, long range and short range, very stealthy
Engineer - has a lot of gadgets, uses turrets, guns and rifles and shields
Necromancer - relies on Magic, mostly long range weapons, can summon undead minions, corrupts their enemies.
Elementalist - can switch between the 4 elements, mostly long range weapons, probably the hardest class but fun if you learn how to play it!
Mesmer - relies on magic and illusions of themselves to confuse enemies. Mostly long range weapons again.
All of the classes can be super fun to play and it just takes a bit to find which one you like playing the most.
Enjoy playing and exploring the world of tyria!!!

Happy Art Monday! 🎨✨
Remember when I mentioned having pictures of Aya Ueto on my phone last month?
Well, here's the drawing I mentioned: "Moonlit Rōnin" 🌙🌸🗡️
It's my character from our occasional "Girls Only" D&D game. Meet my second Erel'Vrae, the Drow Samurai (a Fighter Archetype unlocked at level 3). We play with D&D 5e rules in a homebrew world.
In this universe, Drow society mirrors Japanese feudal culture. The idea sparked when I chose the Samurai class. The DM loved the concept and aligned Drow culture accordingly.
Why a Samurai? Simply for the novelty. I've played various classes—rangers, divine paladins, druids, even a mage gun—but never touched the fighter class. The finesse of a dexterous fighter intrigued me, plus the rich imagery and culture behind the samurai.
Unlike my other Erel'Vrae, this one doesn't have a tragic backstory. She hailed from a loving family and excelled in the fighting academy. When her training was finally done, she sought a Lady to serve but, unfortunately, found none deemed worthy, prompting her to explore the surface world in search of a fitting Daimyo. Along her travels, she vowed to protect a young bard until finding the right match for her talent.
Proud and principled, she defends her people and profession fiercely. Yet, she restrains herself if her opponent proves overpowering.
Traveling as a group, they pass as entertainers—Erel'Vrae's protege plays music while others dance, fight for coin, or perform acrobatics. The group's name, "Métal Brûlant," originates from the D&D spell "Heat Metal," suggesting "Burning Metal."
Her attire mirrors her academy days. Spider Lilies on her Aïkidogi and katana hilt's Kamon (family's crest) pay homage to Lolth, the Spider Queen, whom her family reveres. The Baldur's Gate 3-inspired hairstyle suits her, and her tattoo, albeit intricate, accentuates her allure, especially with white ink on dark skin.
The signature 月冠, read Gekkan, means Moon crown, which is the closest to Isilrina that I could get with only kanji.
Stay tuned for more of her adventures—I'll likely illustrate her future exploits. 🌟🖌️
Until next week! 🌸✨

WIP Intro | Music of the Spheres

The Paladin Order exists to fight the evils no one else can, with all of time and space as their battleground. But their artificial magic will only work for a few. It's a dream and a dreadful fate that it works for Shay Finnegan. Shay, a smart-mouthed teen with a penchant for leaping into situations before considering the consequences, is excited to leave his old life behind and be a part of something bigger than himself. As a Paladin, he can protect innocent lives and discover the identity of the crazed man who showed up on his doorstep and claimed that Shay would one day bring things to ruin. When an influential ally is abducted, the Paladins are sent to investigate and find that it's the doing of a sinister cult dabbling in psychic experimentation at the behest of an alien force in the form of Music that drives listeners to lethal euphoria. Armed with his new magic and a guitar, and accompanied by fellow Paladin-in-training, Kri, Shay tracks them across time in his quest for answers. But time grows short and the influence of the Music is spreading. The deeper Shay goes, the more he realizes that this has all happened before. Time is a circle and one's ability to see the end does not mean the power to stop it. Shay should have just stayed home. But that wouldn't be much of a story, would it?
This story has been with me for so long and it's miles away from the seed of an idea where this all began, a rather unoriginal tale I worked on as a teenager. The character of Shay Finnegan has been with me since 2015 and I knew right away that his story was one I desperately needed to tell. This is a time travel story, a tragedy, the futility of trying to change fate. But it's also a beginning. This is where the Starfish Saga officially opens. This is the precursor to everything else.
These are a couple of Shay's songs that encompass the overall vibes of his story:
This I Love - Guns N Roses
Darkest Dreams - Dhalif Ali (improv cover)
