Now we all have an idea in our heads when we say "Grimoire" and "Spellbook" right? Be it an old leatherbound tome, tidy and neatly put together or an aged book with crumpled pages, stained with all manner of things.
So I've made a list of ways to make our books look the way we see them in our heads! Several links ahead with lots of fun ideas!

November 2023, I reached out to a fellow artist, Aisling “Morimyth” Weaver, who was starting up their own business, selling handmade fiber arts as well as etched stone rune sets, tarot readings, and other witchcraft accessories. As branding was low on their priorities in favor of keeping wares in stock, I offered my skills to create a full branding package for their use.
Already being familiar with their works and style after following their art for a few years, I quickly came up with a few sketches that I then presented to Aisling to choose what to develop further. The proposed package included digitizing and cleaning up a sketch of their own runic “signature” as well as watermarks for photography, a handwritten-like logo, and a logotype of crossed crochet hooks over knitting needles in the shape of their runic ‘M’ initial. Finally, I provided a branding standards sheet with all information regarding fonts, colors, and the logotypes for easy access, reference, and use on anything in the future.

Hello! I am currently working on a brand new comic to get published! like, REALLY published. Not self published, I want this being sold at stores, awwww yeah! Here is the first page I did (second page in the comic) because I wanted to see how long it would take me to do a comic page. All together, this took me about 8 hours. Sooo a page a day, it seems!
The comic is about three separate character stories that intertwine every once in awhile. Each focuses on relationships, friendships, and self esteem. Each character has their issues!
Candii: attention seeker
Mandii: needs to humble herself
Queenie: low self esteem

Via Tom Heintjes (@Hoganmag on Twitter), a page in "Nothing Echoes Like an Empty Mailbox," Charles M. Schulz "Peanuts" Centennial Collection book available from the US Post Office.
A page spread in a portfolio book that showcases some shots and work of a poem video I worked on to bring awareness to dissociation/depersonalization disorders.
By using the Rotoscope technique, I was able to create an "invisible" person look of what can convey to those who struggle with these disorders that feel like they aren't there.
It's nearly the end of the semester so you know what that means-- I've remembered that I have social media and should probably use it for something-- Anyways, here are some editorial designs based on (a heavily abridged version of) Brennan Lee Mulligan's article "This Christmas Party Was So Much Fun That Now I'm a Communist"!
With the branding for Morimyth complete and their business progressing forward, additional assets were found to be needed. The Ko-Fi site's header needed an update, so I created one to Ko-Fi's specifications and one for more general usage. Aisling also requested business cards, some for typical usage to leave at businesses where their products were sold, and a few with a care instructions back for inclusion in shipped orders; as well as a standalone 4" x 4" card in other purchases.

Makin' progress on my new zine! I've finished the script (which isn't exciting to look at) and am starting to layout some pages before I start on the illustrations (slightly more exciting to look at). Keep an eye out for more soon :D
