The more I think about Ovelia and her childhood in Echo Creek, the more I realize how much of the cast she probably knows-ish

Like, Jackie and Janna clearly have a history of a long-standing childhood friendship. And Marco’s had a crush on Jackie since kindergarten.

With how much Ovelia and Jackie hung out, she’s bound to have known Janna long before Mewni Creek happened. They probably had sleepovers. (Though Janna and Lia would be the type to stop talking to each other when Jackie left the room 💀 that is until they both discovered they both love collecting oddities)

As for Marco, I’m almost positive they’ve seen each other before. Ovelia may not have noticed him but Marco might’ve written off Ovelia as “the one space brunette girl who Jackie hangs out with” and not payed attention. They probably don’t recognize each other when confronted and it’s only after they talk about their relationships with Jackie that they go “OHHH I REMEMBER YOU!” (even if it’s very basic level stuff they know about each other.)

I wonder if Marco ever bothered to question the cheekmarks after he found out about Star and Mewni. Maybe he forgot about them after a while, so probably not. Maybe he feels like something’s off about Lia when he meets her again and wouldn’t ever put the dots together unless he sees a picture and goes “OH that’s what’s missing!”

Maybe that’s when he questions it…

I don't think Giorno harbored any grudge against Fugo for staying at the docks tbh.

Bucciarati wanted to leave all of them there in the first place, until Giorno convinced him to explain the situation so that *maybe* the others would join them. At worst, Giorno might've been disappointed after Fugo's "i super respect you now" speech, but I don't think anyone in that boat was angry at a 15 year old for wanting to not die.

By the way, Fugo's "You have my respect" speech from Pompeii? It's echoed by Giorno when Narancia joined the boat.

Giorno didn't have to risk himself to save Fugo in Pompeii, yet was determined to against all odds anyway. And now Narancia, who's Reasonably Very Scared, decided to risk his life as well. Like Fugo did, Giorno respects the hell out of Narancia's resolve.

Fugo wouldn't have blamed Giorno for running. I don't think Giorno would blame Fugo or Narancia for running either.

Not everyone can go out on a limb. Giorno understood this, which was why he put himself in danger in front of everyone else. He stayed in Pompeii to get them all out alive, he volunteered only himself to scout Capri, he sacrificed arm and limb literally constantly. Giorno understands he can't control the choices of others, so he takes initiative himself instead and welcomes those who join him.

We contrast him with Diavolo, someone who threw people under the bus in front of him constantly. People who chose otherwise were traitors and earned his wrath. Even Doppio, who he shared a body with, wasn't safe from being exploited. I think Araki was trying to show that Diavolo's willingness to sacrifice others ultimately harms him. Giorno's willingness to sacrifice himself for others aids him-- it's a paradox, and Giorno and Diavolo are on opposite ends of it.

It plays again into the theme of fate in Part 5. Diavolo claims to be the king of fate, that all are destined to bend to him. Giorno respects the choices of others, and takes on the responsibilities of his ambitions himself. He admires those who willingly choose the hard road of good, and yet I believe he is compassionate towards those who do not as long as they don't harm.

This is why Giorno is so ruthless towards his enemies. No one can escape fate. And yet no one is fated to make any one choice. No one is fated to do good or evil. And if someone so willfully chooses to perpetuate harm, then Giorno has nothing but contempt for them. "I was fated to be this way" was never an excuse.

My biggest beef with the PJO series so far is that CRESTED GECKOS ARE NOT NATIVE TO NEW YORK!!!!

VERY CUTE SCENE BUT CRESTED GECKOS WOULD NOT SURVIVE NEW YORK CLIMATE!!!!

THEY NEED WARMER HUMIDITY!! Even aesthetically the lil guy looks out of place. I know they're filming in Canada but there had to have been easily accessible NATIVE species! They may have been a little jumpier to deal with, but they could have also used a salamander!! Get a good handler or 1 (one) autistic individual on set and there you go!!!!!!

There’s something about the fact that the majority of Percy fanfics I’m made aware of is him and a blond.

Like. Annabeth, obviously. Jason, for starter. Luke, classic. Apollo - which I very much indulge.

The exceptions are Nico and Leo. So that’s like. 4 out of 6. And I know for a fact that Percy/Leo is practically a rarepair.

District Manager found out that I've been keeping a log of incidents with General Manager since end of July. I started keeping them mostly for my own sanity, bc he tends to gaslight and bc sometimes he goes through periods of being genuinely helpful and reasonable and then it's hard to remember why we hate this guy and wish he would please leave. It also helps me to keep my temper in check in the moment, and sometimes I look back at them and go "oh that one wasn't a big deal; I was just hangry" and remove stuff from the list.

District Manager has been receiving a lot of complaints about General Manager, and the all-hands meeting we had about the state of things in the store earlier this month turned into an all-hands meeting about how uncomfortable General Manager is making the team and how ineffective he is at actually doing his job. HR was present. The CEO was present. District Manager asked me to please send her the list of incidents I have been keeping, since they're dated, and will help her keep track of how things are going.

Gentle reader, I still hesitated to send the list. She *asked* me to send it. The *entire team* reported to the *CEO* that this person is bad at his job, committing microaggressions on the daily, and making this a hostile and uncomfortable place to work. But I was still hesitant to share the list because I was afraid of looking petty, or hysterical, or aggressive. Isn't that wild? Brains are wild. The conditioning we receive - especially as female presenting people - is wild. All this to say, y'all it is okay to speak up and it is okay to talk to the person responsible for someone's development if that person is not receiving your feedback or respecting your boundaries and their performance is actively hindering your work. Be respectful, but don't let anyone convince you that respect and silence are the same thing (even and especially if the anyone in question is you).
