Me and the transmac fellas when 🗣️
Me, in high school watching Sekaiichi Hatsukoi vs Me, who hasn't followed the manga for years and doesn't even watch yaoi anymore, seeing this moment
It's a historic day, and the end of an era for little me. Funny that it's also Children's Day because my little me grew up to see this moment

🌸 0 Days Left Until Ritsu Falls in Love Confirmed for Emerald Spring Issue - Releasing April 30th, 2024 🌸
Tumblr media
The real life Emerald, the magazine Sekaiichi Hatsukoi has been serialized in since August 2014, announced the news via their official TikTok account.
🌸 What IS Confirmed 🌸
As of yesterday, we now know Emerald’s next issue release date is April 30th, 2024 as stated above. This was far earlier than the average Emerald release date announcement, as it’s usually another month of waiting for any such info.
The phrasing of the video above pulls from the countdown boxes often found at the end of Onodera Ritsu no Baai chapters, with a few exclusions. It roughly translates to “Finally, there are 0 days left until falling in love.”
This confirms at least one Onodera Ritsu no Baai chapter in the upcoming Emerald.
⚠️ What is NOT Confirmed ⚠️
Weirdly enough it doesn’t confirm a confession, that’s always been a long standing assumption, but there’s a nonzero chance it doesn’t happen.
That the series is ending any time soon. I’ll write more on this below under the cut because it turns into a whole rant.
I will make additional posts as further information comes out leading up to April 30th, such as the full, digitized magazine cover, content updates, and links to purchase this Emerald. Support the official release when possible!
I don’t know where this misconception of Day 0 = the Series Ending started years and years ago, but nowhere in this announcement did it say the series is ending. There would be more than five separate unresolved plot threads that would be left open with Takano and Ritsu if their story got cut here. That’s ignoring anything going on with the other four couples. A good ammount of these threads were just opened in the past three or four years of what will be 18 years of serialization this year. I just don’t see it as a valid argument. Any time a series has ended in Emerald, where SiH is currently serialized, they announce such over a month in advance. I will update this post if such comes to pass and I’m wrong, but I’m highly doubtful I’ll have to.

Day 4 - Stress/Relaxation
Decided to take some inspiration from my real life for the last bit of this entry for @sihjrweek lol enjoy
-
Takano Masamune was trekking back with Onodera Ritsu to his - their apartment after what felt like a particularly long day at work. The two of them were discussing anything work-related that couldn’t wait until tomorrow as they stepped off the elevator. After Ritsu had confessed (and moved in, which had happened pretty soon after due to Masamune’s insistence) there had been a rule set in place about work-talk at home.
Masamune was a bit of a workaholic, but Ritsu was definitely a million times worse and if they were going to be able to function at all - not only as a couple that worked together, but as healthy adults - then they needed to limit work at home as much as possible. They both agreed that sometimes it was unavoidable - or that there were unexpected emergencies due to pop up - but their time together at home should not be overwhelmingly dedicated to stressing over work matters.
“One more thing,” Masamune said as he started to take out his keys. “Your most recent proposal? I’m gonna need you to scrap it and start over.” He unlocked the door and pushed it open, stepping inside.
“What?” Ritsu followed him hurriedly. “Are you insane? I’ve been periodically checking in with you while I was working on it so I could avoid this kind of thing, why do you want me to start over now?!”
“We’re home, which means we only talk about work if it’s an emergency.” Masamune said, effectively infuriating Ritsu as he casually toed off his shoes and started to take off his coat.
“You don’t just get to drop that on me at the front door and then say we can’t talk about it!” Ritsu said, hurriedly taking off his own coat and hanging it up. “Why do I need to start over? Why didn’t you say something sooner?” He asked, his blood pressure rising higher and higher. Ritsu was beginning to consider demoting Masamune from ‘boyfriend’ to simply ‘primary stressor’.
“It’s your fault.” Masamune said. “When I’m talking to you about things it's easy to get on board because you’re so excited and cute and earnest. So it takes me a second to realize when it’s a bad idea.”
“I’m going to kill you.” Ritsu decided. “This is it, this is the final straw for us, I’m going to kill you.”
“Okay. Take your best shot.” Masamune replied, obviously not at all threatened as he stood and faced his boyfriend, waiting for Ritsu to make a move.
Ritsu got in his face, hands on his hips with a sneer curling on his lip. “You are completely infuriating. I can’t stand you at all.” It’s moments like this that I wished I still had my own apartment! Ritsu thought, but even in his fury he thought that might be a little too mean to say. “And how dare you say it’s my fault?! I was doing what I was supposed to do, I was using you as a resource like you always tell me to do! It is not my fault you can’t look at me for two seconds and maintain any kind of professionalism at the same time. Not to mention you dropping this news on me right before we got inside, as if that was going to save you from me being absolutely pissed for the rest of the night, you can’t possibly be stupid enough to think that was going to work!”
“Are we about to kiss?”
The question stunned Ritsu into a momentary silence, but it did force him to recognize just how close he was standing to Masamune during his entire rant.
“No, we are not about to kiss, you idiot!” Ritsu exclaimed before storming past him.
“Are you really gonna be mad at me all night?” Masamune asked as he followed close behind.
“No, I’m gonna be mad at you all week.” Ritsu corrected. “Now leave me alone, I need to start rethinking my entire proposal.” He added snippily, sitting down on their living room couch and taking his laptop out.
Masamune sat beside him and leaned heavily against him, resting his head on Ritsu’s shoulder.
“Get the hell off me, you’re about to crush me.” Ritsu complained, trying to push him off.
Masamune just became total deadweight against him. “No. Not until you kiss me.”
Ritsu groaned. “Fine, make yourself comfortable I guess.” He said stubbornly, opening his laptop and attempting to get to work even with the extra weight pressing against him.
Masamune shut the lid to the laptop before grabbing it and holding it. “No more work, we’re at home.”
“Masamune,” Ritsu said, exasperated. “You can’t drop a bunch of extra work on me and then expect me not to do it!”
“It can wait until tomorrow.” Masamune insisted, holding Ritsu’s laptop away from him as he attempted to reach for it. “Plus, you can’t say my name like that and then expect me to give this back to you.” He added, smirking suggestively.
“Like what? Angrily?”
“Yeah.”
“There is something wrong with you. Several things, in fact.” Ritsu said.
“And you love me, so what does that say about you?” Masamune asked.
“Give me my laptop back.”
“Give me a kiss.”
“You’re so infuriating.”
“You knew that before you moved in with me.”
“Well, maybe I’ll move back out.” Ritsu said, knowing the threat was totally empty.
“Then who would annoy you every day?”
Ritsu rolled his eyes. “No one, that’s the whole point.”
“Sounds boring.” Masamune sighed. “You’d start missing me right away.”
Ritsu just huffed, not willing to disagree with that statement because he knew it would inevitably end with him admitting that he would in fact start missing Masamune. Ritsu was angry with Masamune right now, he couldn’t go around doing or saying anything that would result in boosting his ego.
“Fine. I’ll wait till tomorrow to work.” Ritsu said through gritted teeth. “But if you know what’s good for your health, you’ll leave me alone and let me relax for a little bit.” He added before retreating into their bedroom. He took a few deep breaths as he looked through their shared bookcase. He decided to grab an easy and reliable read, pulling out a well worn and loved book he had visited several times before sitting on their bed and opening it.
Ritsu flipped through the first few pages, feeling the tension slowly leave his body as he read the opening of the novel. However, this brief moment of relief only lasted so long as Masamune soon stood in the doorway of their bedroom.
He really doesn’t know when to give up, Ritsu thought, holding back the urge to groan. You know what? I’m just going to ignore him. Maybe he’ll get bored and leave me alone if I do, Ritsu thought.
“What are you reading?” Masamune asked.
Ritsu didn’t answer, he just continued to pay attention to his book. Or, at the very least, he gave the appearance of paying attention to his book. It was difficult to actually concentrate on reading with Masamune staring at him and now approaching the bed.
“That book looks like it’s ready to fall apart. I thought you took better care of them than that.” Masamune said as he sat beside Ritsu. Ritsu knew that Masamune was just attempting to get a reaction out of him. Ritsu - for once - wasn’t going to give it to him, he just quietly turned a page.
“You must really like this one. How many times have you read it?” Masamune asked. “Do you think I would like it? Should I read it?”
He’s trying to change tactics, Ritsu thought. Since annoying Ritsu hadn’t garnered any desired results, now Masamune was trying to get Ritsu to engage with him by offering to talk about a topic Ritsu was invested in and excited about. It’s not going to work, Ritsu thought stubbornly.
“You’re not really going to ignore me for the rest of the night, are you?” Masamune asked.
The only response was the sound of the pages turning once more.
Masamune let out a sigh and for a second Ritsu thought he might be on the verge of giving up, but then Masamune opened his big mouth once more:
“You wanna fuck me so bad it makes you look stupid.”
Ritsu’s head snapped up at that to look at Masamune, face burning red and his expression contorting into an instinctive scowl. He opened his mouth to yell at Masamune for being such a horny idiot-
“Now are we gonna kiss?” Masamune asked, leaning in just a bit, making Ritsu realize just how close Masamune had sat next to him, their foreheads now touching.
“No!” Ritsu leaned away and bonked him on the head, making Masamune let out a quiet ‘ow’.
“Okay, then when are we gonna kiss?” Masamune huffed.
Ritsu took a deep breath so that he wouldn’t hit Masamune with his book and risk damaging the novel.
“We can kiss when my proposal is finished.” Ritsu said after a moment of careful consideration.
Masamune scowled, not liking that answer at all. “Hell no, I’m not waiting that long.”
“I won’t be able to enjoy kissing you while I’m stressing about it, so it’s just going to have to wait.” Ritsu said simply, attempting to go back to reading his book.
“Then what are you doing laying around here and reading? You should work on it.” Masamune said.
“No. We’re limiting work at home when we can, remember?” Ritsu said, deciding to get even cozier and put his legs under the blanket. “If you’re not going to be quiet and let me read then go away.”
Masamune groaned miserably, laying his head in Ritsu’s lap and trying to stare up at him, but the book blocked his view.
“Don’t do this to me, Ritsu.”
Ritsu went back to not responding.
“It's not like I want you to start the proposal over for my own sick amusement.” Masamune continued.
Ritsu read silently.
“I love you.” Masamune tried.
Ritsu let out a sigh at that before one of his hands reached down to briefly run his fingers through Masamune’s hair, but he still didn’t reply. Masamune thought he might be satisfied with the affectionate touch, but it didn’t even last as Ritsu went back to holding his book with both hands.
“How long do you think redoing the proposal will take you?” Masamune asked.
Ritsu did not answer.
Masamune had a terrible feeling that he’d be going kissless for longer than he could handle.
-
“My laptop! Oh my God, Kisa-san, are you seeing this?!” Ritsu suddenly shouted from his desk.
Masamune looked toward the commotion, in a much worse mood than usual due to the fact that yesterday evening he had gotten zero kisses: no kisses good night before bed, not even a good morning kiss today before they left for work! But, hearing Ritsu so distressed naturally made him put his own grievances aside to make sure he was okay.
“It’s smoking out of the charger port! What the hell?!” Ritsu exclaimed before the screen suddenly went dark.
“That can’t be good…” Kisa said unhelpfully.
“No! No, no, no, no, no, this can’t be happening, my laptop can’t be giving out on me, I need it!” Ritsu desperately tried to turn it back on several times.
“Is that a good idea? It was just smoking…” Kisa said.
Good idea or not, Ritsu failed at getting the computer to power back on, making him drop his head on to his desk in despondency. “I hope it catches on fire, if it burns down the building I won’t have to work anymore.” He said. “My proposal…” He added miserably, moreso to himself than anyone else.
The laptop made a concerning sparking sound, officially becoming Masamune’s competitor as Ritsu’s primary stressor.
“You should probably do something about that before it really does catch on fire.” Hatori said and Ritsu just made a sound of misery.
“...That proposal’s not gonna get done today, is it, Onodera?” Masamune asked.
Ritsu let out another groan of despair.
Masamune started to hope that the laptop would burn down the building too because if there was no more work to be done then that meant he could finally be kissed once he got home.
Of course, neither he or Ritsu could be so lucky.

Tumblr media
Image taken from this Twitter post from Dear+!

The current price is ¥2970 with tax (¥2700 without tax). If you'd like to preorder it on your proxy shopping service, I've found it on the Comi Comi Studios website here! The bonus for purchasing it on this website is a B5 clear file~ I haven't seen it on Animate just yet, so fingers crossed it'll appear on their website soon with another (different) bonus! ❤️💛
Alright, with this amazing news done, let's move onto our takeaways, the long awaited takeaways! Thank you for being so patient with me! 💜
My short life update: currently in week 8 of lockdown and I haven't left my house in a long time other than for exercise or groceries. But I do have my vaccination appointment booked so YAY! 🎉
Here are our takeaways for this chapter:
Oh man, we pick right up from the last page of chapter 13. MINATO, BB, YOU LOOK SO PAINED! 😭
Sensei is the BIGGEST tease... that's all we got of that Minato and Shizuma scene...👀😭
The female staff at the veterinary hospital have really mellowed out! They're not bad, after all. ☺️
Oh dear, Nakajou-sensei, please get better ASAP!
Whoa... did Onodera just...?? I'm starting to think back to that Onodera discussion we had a couple of months ago... 🤔
Poor Shizuma, always roped into Onodera's workplace stuff! IT'S BECAUSE YOU HAVE GREAT PEOPLE SKILLS, SHIZUMA! PROUD OF YOU! 😍🙌
Man, Onodera has a really... blunt way of saying things to her human clients. Wow, brave. 😲
But I will say, Onodera really is good with animals. 🙌
Yet again, I think about that Onodera discussion we had... 🤔🤔
And that’s it for this chapter’s takeaways! For a more detailed breakdown/summary of this chapter, please continue after the cut! There may or may not be a surprise scene (or two) there. Please keep reading if you want to see~  😉✨
Our chapter begins where we left off in chapter 13--Minato pinning Shizuma down on the bed. Shizuma looks up at Minato and reflects on his actions that caused the pained look he is seeing.
Tumblr media
Image taken from this Dear+ Twitter post!
On the next page (title page), the dialogue reads: Shizuma wants to understand what it is about his director (Onodera) that is making Minato uneasy. // However, that beautiful liar hides it well...
(I believe we are taken back to the morning before Shizuma and Minato meet up for their date.)
The title page features Onodera walking back to the clinic, bread in hand, with a cat cozying up on her leg. We are then brought to the clinic's lunchroom, with the female staff and Shizuma on break. The roster in the room shows that Onodera is extremely busy, Nakajou-sensei has afternoon house call appointments, Tatsumi is Nakajou-sensei's support for these appointments, and Shizuma has a half day and finishes in the afternoon in lieu of working on his scheduled day off.
Shizuma asks his coworkers what presents they like from their partners and takes note of their answers. One of the female nurses asks if it's Minato's birthday. Shizuma confesses that their relationship has been affected by the various things happening lately, so he wants to get Minato a gift before seeing him later that day.
Tumblr media
The nurses quickly pick up that the gift is a "tribute" of sorts as this line of work means a lot of missed appointments and dates, and Shizuma confirms their suspicions. While the nurses realise male-male relationships and male-female relationships aren't that different in this aspect, everyone in the lunchroom is alerted to someone shouting Nakajou-sensei's name.
Shizuma and a nurse see Tatsumi with Nakajou-sensei, who has collapsed on the floor. While the staff are concerned about Nakajou's well-being, she brushes it off as a dizzy spell. Before they can help her up, Onodera sweeps her off her feet and carries Nakajou to her (Onodera's) office. While Nakajou asks Onodera to put her down out of sheer embarrassment, Shizuma and Tatsumi are in shock, with Tatsumi commenting on Onodera's manliness in that moment. One of the other nurses gently smacks Shizuma's shoulder and tells the two to grab a blanket and a drink for Nakajou.
In her office, Onodera asks Nakajou why she's been overworking herself to the point of collapsing. The nurse (who gave the gentle smack) very obviously hints to Onodera that it is her fault. As Nakajou calms the nurse by saying that's just how the director is, Tatsumi asks Nakajou about their afternoon appointments. She says she'll be fine to go after a little rest, but the nurse says she mustn't overexert herself.
After a few back and forths about who should go and the clients' needs/personality (picky about the vet, had a pet that doesn't like men, etc), Onodera says she will go. The nurses are shocked and reminisce about all the issues they've had when Onodera interacts with the owners. Tatsumi and Shizuma stand there, and can very clearly imagine those situations happening.
Tumblr media
While Onodera rearranges and informs the nurses of the shift changes to accommodate Nakajou-sensei, Shizuma has a terrible premonition that unfortunately comes true: he is appointed as Onodera's support for the afternoon house calls.
Tumblr media
Wearing a sulky expression, Shizuma packs the necessary equipment in Onodera's car and reminds her that he has a very important engagement that night that he cannot miss, and as such will leave immediately after the house call appointments are done. Onodera bursts his bubble, and tells him to give up on those plans while he can since this is the line of work he's chosen.
As Shizuma reads the client files, he questions Onodera on why he is her support when he's never attended to these clients before. While Onodera tells him that good coordination is important with a physician's support and that he's the only one she can rely on to give her an honest opinion and calm the clients, Shizuma realises that he's basically the mediator between her and the owners. She confirms that this is his strong point, has great expectations for him, and proceeds to drive. Shizuma then reads the patient files at lightning speed, realising there's a threatening 'something' that Minato has sensed, but that's just how the director is. He then vows to make it to their meeting tonight, no matter what.
Tumblr media
The first three house calls, as expected, involve Onodera insulting and angering the owners--Onodera tells the first client that his insistence on seeing Nakajou rather than a 'young' director is having a negative effect on his pet who needs immediate medical care; Onodera offends the second client, inferring from their conversation that her pet's appearance is more important than the need to shave their fur and get an ultrasound done; Onodera accuses the third client of being irresponsible in caring for his exotic animals and asks for more effort on his part. In all three scenarios, Shizuma awkwardly smiles while trying to ease the tension.
The scene skips to Onodera and Shizuma arriving at their fourth and final house call for the day. Just as Onodera explains to Shizuma that she must check a whole host of things at house calls (and indirectly be too blunt about it with the owners), Shizuma asks her to consider the owner's feelings and change when and how she says things. She glares ahead in silence, and Shizuma is just glad that she is now aware of it. He again reminds her to talk with the owner nicely and gently as he probably won't be able to help with the next client as their pet dislikes men. Onodera tells him to just sit in the corner and witness the client become furious while he doesn't help, making him feel slightly guilty for saying that. He is now adament on not helping her.
They reach the owner's home and we meet an elderly woman named Shiratori and her 9-year-old male cat, Tono. Shiratori apologises to Shizuma as her cat doesn't like men. Tono hisses at them as Onodera opens his cage, but is then coaxed into submission by Onodera who covers his vision with a towel and takes him into her lap to calm down. Shiratori and Shizuma are surprised at his sudden docile nature, with Shizuma witnessing how well she deals with animals.
Tumblr media
As Shizuma looks on at Onodera while she completes a check on Tono, he sees she is crumbling at the friendliness and talkative nature of Shiratori, who sings nothing but praise for Onodera and how her family must be proud to have such an amazing daughter. Aiming to ease her troubles and remembering the earlier guilt-trip she gave him, he redirects Shiratori's attention to her broken fly screen and offers to fix that plus everything else that needs repair in her home.
Onodera watches as the two leave the room for a bit before apologising to Tono for ignoring him. Tono looks on at Onodera happily while she asks him how he can live with such a lively human and to tell her his secret to this. She brings him into her arms once more to check his limbs, and as Tono looks up smiling at Onodera, Onodera sees her reflection in Tono's eyes, and both seem to realise something.
Tumblr media
BG Text: Stare...
Suddenly, Shizuma and Shiratori, who are busy fixing the window, hear a loud crash and rush into the room to find Tono atop the cabinet and Onodera on the floor, with her hair in disarray. In the next panel, Tono is shown to be hiding in the bookshelf, looking on irritatingly at the humans. Shiratori apologises to Onodera, who shakes it off and says it's nothing to worry about and no harm's been done.
Shiratori asks if Onodera will fix/tie her hair up again, but when Onodera says her hair tie was broken when Tono used her as a launchpad to get on the cabinet, Shiratori runs to get her a new one. As Shiratori gushes over the 3 piece dopey looking character hair tie set she received as a present from her grandchild (and lets Onodera pick one), a greatly displeased look is plastered on Onodera's face. Shizuma, in shock, notices her displeasure and hopes she just thanks Shiratori for it. And Onodera does, bringing a great big smile to Shiratori's face.
As Onodera and Shizuma leave, Shiratori says she's glad to have talked with Onodera and invites her to come over again. As she says this, we see Onodera looking back with a blank look in her eyes.
Tumblr media
And that’s it for this chapter! THANK YOU FOR READING THIS FAR! 💜 While I was surprised at the lack of Minato in this chapter (Sensei legit is such a tease, LOL 🤣), I'm happy we can learn more about Onodera. Ngl, I'm starting to really question if Onodera is male or female now, given what transpired in this chapter. I guess we shall see in the next one!
I also changed the formatting a bit and removed the bullet points. Please let me know which format is better/easier to read! Ahah!
EDIT: Spelling and grammar checks are done! Didn't change a lot, but hope it reads better! 💜

I Still Like It (Sekaiichi Hatsukoi)
Summary: During their first proper date in over a decade, Ritsu timidly asks Takano whether he remembers something he'd confessed to him back in their high school days.
A/N: I really wanted to write this fic for these two - especially after having seen the series finale (for the anime, anyway). I really feel like young Ritsu would have been totally open about all kinds of things before he got older and more reserved. I hope you enjoy reading as much as I loved writing this one! ^^
Word Count: 1,757
~~~
“Takano?”
“Mmm?”
Ritsu clenched his fists in his lap, staring at his empty plate nervously. He hadn’t truly intended to open his mouth and say anything, but it had been a long time since he and Takano had had such a simple evening together – let alone an entire date night – and he supposed part of him was desperate. It had been a long time since they’d done another thing, too.
“What is it?” Takano pressed, finishing off the last of his rice. “Tell me.”
Ritsu hesitated. “It’s just…when we were in high school, ah…d-do you remember…? I mean, after I told you I…liked you…and we started hanging out more…there was something else I told you, too. Do you remember what it was?”
Takano thought for a moment, and truly, that was all the answer Ritsu needed. Still, he waited anxiously for his partner to answer him properly.
“You told me a lot of things,” the older man said at last, reaching for his plate to stack with his own. “Which one are you thinking of?”
“Heh…you’re right, I guess I did spill a lot of stuff back then, didn’t I?” Ritsu chuckled nervously, attempting to brush away the conversation and his disappointment with a smile and wave of his hand. “It doesn’t matter. I was just curious.”
“But which one—?”
“Here, let me help you.” Ritsu suddenly shot to his feet, grabbing up the empty glasses and utensils and eventually taking the plates from Takano’s hands, too.
“Onodera…” Takano trailed off, watching his younger partner hurry away to the kitchen, frowning as he went. He was wracking his brain even harder now, trying to remember what specifically Ritsu was talking about. This was the first time in ages he’d tried to open up about something; Takano would be darned if he’d let his bad memory screw him over now.
“So what do you want to do next?” Ritsu asked, still sounding nervous as he focused hard on cleaning up the dishes as Takano entered the room. “Maybe we could rent a movie? I haven’t had popcorn in a while; I could really go for some popcorn right now.”
He was rambling. Takano frowned. Ritsu only rambled aimlessly like that when he was upset and trying to hide it. He tried one more time. “Onodera, what were you—?”
“Ah!” Ritsu exclaimed as one of the glasses slipped from his hands, crashing onto the floor and shattering into several pieces.
“Ritsu!” Takano cried, rushing to him, grabbing his arms to hold him still. “Are you hurt? Don’t move; I’ll clean up the glass. Are you okay?”
“I’m fine,” Ritsu replied, though he clearly wasn’t.
Takano made sure he was going to stay put before rushing off to get the broom and dustpan, urging his brain to think harder. Whatever it was his partner was thinking about, it had been enough to make him shaky and uncoordinated, thus dropping a glass and nearly injuring himself. He had to remember what it was on his own. He wanted to. For Ritsu.
But first, he had to make sure he didn’t step on any glass.
*
It hit him during the movie.
Nothing about the movie itself reminded him of it; he just let his mind wander at one point and that’s when it occurred to him. He glanced at Ritsu, who was curled up against him with a bowl of popcorn in his hands, watching intently. He contemplated acting on it now but decided against it. He’d wait until his partner had calmed down a little more. He didn’t want to make him uncomfortable by attacking when he was still tense.
Takano smiled to himself and hugged Ritsu closer. He finally had his answer…and a couple of ideas about how to use it, too.
*
After the movie, after they’d gone to the bedroom and messed around and relaxed a little more, Takano lay beside Ritsu and pulled him against his chest, assuming the position of the big spoon. Ritsu melted into him, too mellowed out to protest as he usually did.
“Onodera?”
“Mmm?”
Takano grinned, swinging one leg over to trap both of Ritsu’s, lightly dragging his fingers down his bare side (as his shirt had long since been lost to the floor). “I remember~”
Ritsu gasped, but before he could tense up again Takano had struck, scribbling and wiggling his fingers all along his side and across his belly, making light, happy giggles bubble up from somewhere deep within him, filling the darkened room with their brightness.
“T-Takahahahano!” Ritsu squeaked, trying to curl up, trying to fight him off. “Nohohohohoho!”
“This is what you meant, wasn’t it? I remember now,” Takano teased lowly into his ear, only making him giggle harder. “The first night we spent together, I accidentally brushed over this spot right here…” He pinched Ritsu’s hip, earning a squeal for his efforts. “…and you got so red and embarrassed. It was adorable.”
“Shut up!” The brunette pleaded, weakly grasping Takano’s tickling wrist.
“And then you told me something even more adorable.”
“Takano!”
“You told me…” The older man grinned wickedly at his partner, who caught sight of his face for a brief moment in the pause and widened his eyes in nervous excitement. “…you love being tickled!”
Then Takano the tickle monster went into action, swiftly sitting up and straddling Ritsu, going right for his ribs and sides, drawing out startled laughter and frantic but useless flailing.
Ritsu tossed his head against the pillow and shrieked, trying to kick but unable to do so thanks to the blankets covering his lower half and Takano pinning them in place with his weight. He tried to push him away, but his partner merely grabbed his wrists, pinned them together, then held them against his chest, forcing him to feel the vibrations of his own hysterics as they flew from his lips in at increasingly high-pitched rates.
“Well? Do you still love it, Onodera? Is that what you were trying to tell me at dinner?” Takano teased, wiggling his fingers along his upper ribs, just below where his arms were trapped against his chest. Ritsu bucked but couldn’t dislodge him, and he let out a distressed shriek that only made his evil partner smile wider.
“Yehehehehehehehes!” he laughed, unable to hide how elated he was. He could be grumpy and tough and deny it all he wanted under normal circumstances, but here and now? He didn’t stand a chance. “Ahahahahahahahaha! Takahahahahahahano!”
“Let’s see…where was your spot again?” Takano hummed, trying to remember. “Was it your armpits? I feel like I remember them being pretty bad.”
“Ah! No!” Ritsu shrieked when he suddenly found his arms pinned above his head, exposing him for even more tickling. “Nohohohohoho!”
“No? I think you’re lying.” Takano smirked, holding him down firmly while he wiggled a single finger into one of his underarms, making Ritsu laugh in the back of his throat in the most adorable way. Takano even felt himself blushing at the sound; he desperately wanted to hear more of it, so he added another tickling finger. “Now that’s the kind of laughter I like to hear~”
“Takano!” Ritsu gasped between helpless cackles, bucking his hips again, writhing against the mattress as he lost himself to his own hysterics. “Plehehehehehehehease!”
“Hmm…didn’t you say something about wanting to be tied up when I tickled you, too?” Takano asked innocently.
Ritsu’s eyes flew wide open. His face became a darker than a cherry. “S-Shuhuhuhuhuhuhut up!”
“Oh? I was mostly joking about that last part,” Takano replied, abandoning his tickling to begin looking for the tie he’d discarded not long ago. “But if you’re not protesting…”
“W-Wait!” Ritsu cried, gasping for breath while he could. When Takano met his gaze he could see a hint of worry there, and it was enough to make him change his mind entirely. “N-Not so fast…”
“I won’t tie you up,” Takano promised, leaning down to kiss him gently, brushing his cheek with his free hand, still pinning him with the other. “Not unless you ask me to.”
“Y-You…actually remembered?” Ritsu asked, his voice quiet but hopeful. “It was such a silly thing, and I only asked you to do it a couple of times…”
“I remember,” Takano affirmed, smiling gently at him. “I never forgot. But you did tell me all kinds of things when we were in high school, so it took me a bit to figure out which one specifically you were talking about tonight.” He chuckled then, shifting his hold on his wrists so he held one in each hand and pinned them beside the pillow supporting Ritsu’s head. “Were you in a mood, Ritsu?”
Ritsu flushed, twisting his head to the side, embarrassed. “Yeah.”
“I really want to tie you up,” Takano murmured against his ribs as he started kissing him gently there, “and tickle you until you’re begging me to stop. But I won’t. Not now, anyway. We can discuss how far you want to go later. For now…” he kissed down his ribs, across his belly, flicking his tongue into Ritsu’s belly button teasingly – all of it drawing soft, gentle, eager giggles from the smaller man. “…I’m happy just to make you happy.”
“Senpai,” Ritsu murmured, drawing Takano’s adoring gaze up to meet his. He smiled at his older, unbearably handsome partner. “Please tickle my feet?”
A spark of recognition lit up Takano’s eyes, followed by a wicked smirk as he leapt off the bed, tossed the blankets protecting Ritsu aside, and descended on his most ticklish spot with a loving vengeance. “That’s right! It was your feet, wasn’t it? You really loved having your feet tickled when we were younger~”
Ritsu exploded with laughter, thrashing on the bed as he tried (but not really) to escape the strong, ticklish feeling, pounding the mattress from the intensity of it, screaming incoherent pleas into the air as he quickly lost all sense of control and dissolved into pure, helpless hysteria, guided gently but ruthlessly along by his first love, who smiled and tickled and soaked in the sound of his partner’s laughter for as long as he knew Ritsu could bear it.
The only thing that could make it better, Ritsu thought, was if Takano would laugh along with him as he was tickled nearly to death for the first time in years. That calm, knowing chuckle of his would be enough to make this so much more unbearable – and so much more fun.
Handcuffs might not be so bad, either…
So with Ritsu no Baai 30 being the most recent act I’d like to take some time to appreciate some good Onodera facial expressions.
Tumblr media
First the face he makes when he tells Nao to take his shit out of his house and leave. He looks angry yet conflicted since Nao has always been his trusted friend but not for too long.
Tumblr media
We have the return of the demon hand from the cursed Ritsu no Baai act 28 this time the demon possessing Ritsu in order to slap Nao back from assaulting him.
Tumblr media
I loved how Ritsu’s first instinct to being kissed by Nao was to punch the shit out of him because that’s what he frankly deserves up to this point.
Tumblr media
I often forget how pretty Sekaiichi Hatsukoi is but reading panels like this really reaffirms this theory that Nakamura purposely draws SIH more beautifully to distract the viewer from the real mess that the story is.
Tumblr media
Ending the act we have Ritsu wanting to meet Takano and honestly Onodera has been through so much shit in these recent acts. He really needs a break from all the madness that is his so-called love life and I really hope that the next acts give him the closure that we need. I predict that it won’t be as neat and tidy as I imagine however I also feel a confession coming up soon. Yes, finally the confession we’ve waited for 10 years should be coming with these next acts and hopefully with that all Takaritsu fans can rejoice that finally Takano and Onodera will have a healthy and functioning relationship.
The art in this act was also really good.
