Summary: Zelda is taking over the fabric store from her mother and struggles to balance traditions, new ideas, and financial problems. The last thing she needs in her sewing class is a guy who disagrees with her every word and threatens to ruin her favorite time of the year: Christmas.

One Stitch at a Time - Chapter 1

Zelda blinked some moisture into her screen-dried eyes and glanced through the big shop windows onto the street. The motion that had caught her attention was a businessman rushing past, his black leather suitcase raised above his head to shield himself from the downpour.

A mixture of mushy snowflakes and big raindrops splashed against the windows and Zelda sighed, mindlessly clicking a few times on the two big screens in front of her. Sleet, which would probably last until she closed the shop.

Bad weather was bad news. It meant no one came in to shop for Christmas-themed fabrics to sew Santa stockings, placemats, or Christmas dresses. Nobody would come to buy wool for scratchy Christmas sweaters either. Bad weather meant people ordered their things online instead of buying them in the small, lovely fabric store in Ruto's Road.

Who knew, maybe even the attendants of the sewing class that started today might drop out if they had to come here soaked through with wet feet… Goodbye extra income, hello debts.

seriously though, this turned out to be harder to answer than I thought! I did actually manage to pull Stitch Lilia (THANK YOU TWSTFEST for the free bonus keys!) and he's absolutely adorable, I've literally been doing random battles just to watch him surf around and high-five Stitch. a fine addition to the Lilia collection!

in terms of proudest/most unbelievable achievement, that is 100% when I somehow managed to pull every single Scary Monsters card except one (only missing Rook!). I think I used up all my luck on that one, but at least it was for the Halloween cards! (after Scary Monsters and Glorious Masquerade, I'm so afraid of what this year's Halloween event is going to be, what if they look amazing how am I supposed to save my keys nooooo)

if I REALLY have to pick one, though...there is actually one card that I think I would call my favorite! he just makes me happy every time I look at him. :>

Eddie post a TikTok that’s like ‘How my husband greets me when I come home from tour’ and it’s a video of Steve looking at Eddie really confused and then saying “what are you doing here?” and then ‘How my husband looks when his platonic soulmate who he saw last week visits’ and it’s Steve picking Robin up in a hug and spinning her around.

This video gets stitched by Dustin fully calling Eddie out because he was there when Eddie came home from tour a whole five hours before Steve was supposed to pick him up from the airport. Steve’s confusion was because he thought that maybe he forgot to get him or messed up the times (because, you know, head trauma) so Eddie had to find his own ride. Dustin included video of Eddie explaining that he took an early flight to surprise him, “so are you surprised?” and Steve full-body tackling him to the ground in a bear hug and kissing him. Dustin captions it something like, “Don’t call Mom a liar.”

"Okay, so…" Link leaned closer to her, whispering in Zelda's ear while they walked up the stairs to Castle Town's old town hall. "Am I expected to follow all the silly rules, too? Or is it just a funny dress up?"

"It's obviously not historically accurate or we wouldn't come together as an unmarried couple," Zelda answered, her tone light.

"Scandalous!" he interjected, a grin playing on his lips.

She rolled her eyes but the snippets of the juvenile song the band played inside coaxed her to grin despite his always underlying teasing. With a light squeeze, she let go of his arm so that he could show their tickets. "Most people like to hold up as much of the original atmosphere as possible, even if everyone knows it's fake. So you will have period typical dancing and games, and a lot of people have fun assuming the roles that come with the period, too."

"Huh." His gaze flickered to the right and left, then to Aryll and her partner who entered the ballroom in front of them. "I might need your help so that I don't make a fool of myself." His head then tipped up to the row of chandeliers at the ceiling. "I think I've underestimated this whole thing a bit."
