Talk of the Inklings Challenge reminds me that I never mentioned that I set up a monthly newsletter which you can subscribe to over at StarDance Press ...
... AND that signing up gets you a link to download my slightly-edited 2021 Inklings Challenge story, On Winged Feet, in any ebook form you prefer, AND said story now features the most stunning cover ever, created by our very own @lover-of-the-starkindler.
So there you go--no pressure on anyone to sign up, but the opportunity is there if you're interested.

My players have recently found out that the weird red rat in their backpack at the beginning of the campaign that tried to eat all their food turned out to be a very incompetent, shapeshifted Spined Devil. Needless to say, a strange... Friendship? Alliance? has been born.

Speaking of book covers, I've been trying to figure out a way to put together a cover for my Inklings Challenge story On Winged Feet for ages now--I've been thinking about offering it to newsletter subscribers once I get around to starting my newsletter--and I am so stuck, friends. Apparently stock photos of teenage girl + dressed in leggings & tunic + forest + fantasy vibes + braided hair do not exist, and that's not even getting to the wings on her ankles!
Yes, I'll admit, I'm too finicky. But I'm NOT going to slap a generic Medieval-ish Girl in Long Dress with Hair Blowing in the Wind cover on my darling Kenna's story and call it good, even if it IS more for my own satisfaction than anything else.
(There is a tiny part of me that is tempted to expand the story into a novel and try to find a publishing home for it, but that way lies madness. I have TOO MANY stories on hand to add another project to my plate. Even starting a newsletter is a bit ambitious right now.)
