Harry and Y/N were on their annual winter skiing trip in Geneva - a tradition they had taken up about 3 years into their relationship. They had reached the last day of the trip and decided to go out to a local bar and drown their sorrows - the pair not wanting the trip to end. After getting a few rounds between them they decided to call it a night, with their early flight and lack of packing done, they knew they probably should have ended the night a long time ago.
As they walked out of the bar, snowflakes fell softly from the sky and all the rooftops around them were dusted with a shimmering blanket of white, Harry and Y/N found themselves caught in a playful dance amidst the winter wonderland - the cold had knocked them back and they felt a lot more drunk than they thought they were.
Hand in hand, they ventured out into the cold air, their cheeks flushed red (Harry blamed the 2 bottles of wine they had shared). With each step, they left behind a trail of footprints in the snow, their laughter mingling with the soft crunch of their boots against the frozen ground.
Their destination? A secluded clearing nestled deep within the town—a secret spot they had discovered during their first winter together, a place where the world seemed to stand still and time lost all meaning.
As they arrived at their snowy sanctuary, Harry and Y/N wasted no time in diving headfirst into their wintry adventure. They built snow angels side by side, their bodies creating patterns in the pristine snow as they flapped their arms and legs, laughing at the mess they were creating.
Next came the snowman—a creation that looked a bit insane due to its lack of carrot nose (none of the shops around them were opened) or buttons for eyes (harry protested against the buttons) but nonetheless the snowman was standing proudly in the center of the snow as a testament to their love and creativity. With gloved hands and rosy cheeks, they worked together to shape and mold the perfect snowman, their laughter echoing through the quiet town as they occasionally through handfuls of snow at one another.
Yet amidst the flurry of snow and laughter, there was something else stirring in Harry's heart—a feeling so profound and overwhelming that he couldn't keep it inside any longer. Something that he'd been thinking about for months...years even.
With a nervous flutter in his chest, he turned to Y/N , his blue eyes shining with love and affection. And in that moment, surrounded by the beauty of the winter landscape and the warmth of their shared laughter, struggling through the snow to get down on one knee, he spoke the words he had been longing to say.
"Y/N, will you marry me?," he whispered, his voice barely above a hush and slightly hoarse from all the singing they’d done in the bar but still managing to carry with it all the depth and sincerity of his feelings.
Tears welled in Y/N's eyes as she gasped in astonishment, her hand flying to her mouth in disbelief. Her heart swelled with overwhelming joy, and her stomach felt sick (a mix of shock and booze) and it was as though she might burst with happiness.
It had felt like hours had gone by as the two faced one another, Harry shaking on one knee and Y/N stood in shock.
With a trembling voice, Harry broke the silence rambling in his drunken state, “You know it's okay if you say no, but I'd love it if you said yes - it's just sort of freezing down here and I’m scared if I stay like this any longer I’ll have turned to ice.'' Y/N could barely choke a laugh at his attempt of a joke but his panic shook her slightly and she realized she hadn’t replied to him yet.
Unable to contain her emotions any longer, she threw her arms around him, pulling him into a tight embrace as tears of joy streamed down her cheeks. "Yes! Yes, a thousand times yes!" she exclaimed, her voice filled with pure elation. A sigh of relief passed Harry's lips.
And as they stood there, wrapped in each other's embrace, surrounded by the beauty of the winter landscape, Harry and Y/N knew that their love was as enduring and timeless as the snow that blanketed the earth—a love that would warm their hearts even on the coldest of days, and carry them through all the seasons yet to come.

General Thoughts:
WOW ok it is only one episode and i am invested. they give us great character dynamics, hints of backstory, hints of character dynamic backstory, hints of future plot points -> my cream and butter, my creme de la creme
this show hits all of my weak points. yeah, i can tell this was made early 2000s but that does nothing to hinder it. i am giggling, gasping, and sitting on the edge of my seat.
when mr. uppity shareholder man found out about his room being bugged, i was so worried because the plan was going so well and i really wanted to see this guy fall. AND THEN WHEN THE FBI CAME TO ARREST HIM??? HELLO????
but yes, very great pilot, i will watch episode 2

i feel like when people say idles 'old sound' they just mean lion, oh my god and hwaa and they've probably never listened to the bsides of those albums either. its so funny cause idle is known for never sticking to one sound, they don't want to, it doesn't excited them, it doesn't fulfill them. its always think pieces on top of think pieces whenever idle (and itzy to some extent) have a comeback.
and they never look at the numbers either. why would they go back to their 'old sound' (whatever that means) when their last 3 comebacks got them the most sales, attention and exposure than the pre-hiatus ones.
I do have such a hard time tracing what “gidle’s old sound” even means exactly for the reasons you said it. I got a very similar question around queencard era that is literally just repetition of what we’re saying today. Gidle has never stuck with one style and I cannot for the life of me understand what their old music would even be like. When people say they miss their more poetry-like work then I also do assume they refer to Lion, Hwaa and Oh My God, but again, as I have said before, it was not their pattern. Oh my god will always be my favorite song of theirs, and I know they will never replicate it. I don’t want them too.
And I agree with you there’s no reason to go back to the “old sound”. I miss the old days (gidle ot6 until the day I leave this earth) but not the old ways. They needed a miracle after the hiatus and it was not Lion, Hwaa or OMG 2.0 that would have saved them.*** It had to be something popular (as in liked en masse) and more palatable, such as dumdi dumdi (recognizably one of their biggest hits prior hiatus, to this day one of their most streamed mvs in the first 24 hrs). I resent the idea that gidle were flops before but their popularity now is insane. They’re tied with aespa for biggest pre-sale of an album at second place. They’re the only girl group outside of big 4. It’s undeniable the success and power they have now. They keep the hype and they keep being relevant perhaps exactly because of what makes them them: queens of concept and versatility.
Also even if there wasn’t implied social criticism behind their songs, which soyeon has been going harder on ever since the hiatus, there’s nothing wrong with fun and silly songs, kpop is in dire need for it 😭
***special mention and correlation with Soojin coming back to the industry doing the exact opposite! A fully Korean song filled with symbolisms and patterns directly linked to Hwaa, her last era. They were both (gidle with 5 and Soojin) reborn on contrasted ways. Very romantic in my delulu mind.

sooo funny thing happened with my personal trainer. you know how i said i could’ve sworn we were scheduled for 10:30 session on thursday? we were actually scheduled for 3:30 and i had no idea until she emailed me about it at 3:15….. a 3:30 appointment and i was several hours early lol 😭😭 i asked if she was willing to go through with our 3:30 session but she said she’d rather have a fresh start on monday, so we’re doing just that :> can’t wait to get back into the swing of things!!
i went to the grocery store with my mom to pick up stuff for pancake day tomorrow! :3 i bought some honey (for me since i loove honey on my pancakes) and i wanted to get strawberries but i guess they’re out of season now :( i’m thinking about using agave syrup on my pancakes since i have a lot left over from when i had girlfriend toast (that’s what i’m calling toast made the way you have it in the morning~ 🥺) oh and i found fudge covered oreos at the store today i can’t wait to try them!! (whenever i buy snacks for myself my dad looks at me in disgust like i’m gonna eat everything i bought in one sitting -_-)
we were able to find some beef bacon at the store and my dad was so jazzed about it that he decided we should have……. baked potatoes… with bacon bits for dinner 😐 yeah so needless to say i’m making my own dinner! it’s chicken salad since i’m craving something cold and summery :D

It's that time of the year where I randomly start obsessing over your Twilight re-imagining again. It's insane how much your art has improved seeing as it was already brilliant to begin with! You've kept such a distinct "you" style while also developing upon it and creating beautiful linework and rendering. I was wondering if there's any more you can share about your Twilight AU. IIRC you mentioned that Carlisle is an antagonist in this project? Would love to hear more!
aw gosh thank you omg yeah I definitely think about it from time to time and play around with different ideas still. One of the big departures I've made from the original is setting it in Alaska, considering it's is still very much a "final frontier" sort of location with a lot of the same aesthetics as the pacific northwest but with the threat of long periods of darkness looming over the characters, and a much more intense feeling of isolation, seeing how rural most communities there are. Another is that it'll be happening in the 90's; partially just because I don't like writing anything contemporary, but also because it would solve some of the plot holes created by the characters having easy access to cell phones and the internet.
I'm not really the queen of plot, so most of my musings have been on characters and worldbuilding. The main goal with the former is giving them 3 dimensionality: hobbies, goals, fears, flaws, histories, etc. There have been some big character name changes, for one. Isabella Swan > Winona Hawk ; Edward Cullen > Caleb Tynan. Also, Charlie isn't a cop anymore because acab lol he's a park ranger now--that way he'd still have ready access to things like flares, bear spray, and guns, and possess an obvious motivation for getting to the bottom of the mysterious murders that have been taking place in and around the small town of Nadir (a town that doesn't exist irl, but is based off the town Hyder, Alaska).
The most thought I've put in the Carlisle plot would be that it would be interesting to feature an antagonist who genuinely meant well in the beginning, but gets so swept up in his noble, lofty goals that he becomes monstrous along the way. With the desire to isolate the cause of vampire "immortality", Carlisle transforms "undesirable" patients (ie marginalized or isolated individuals who can go missing without causing an uproar) into vampires before subjecting them to all sorts of inhumane tests and experiments. Not sure where this would lead, but it would be an interesting thing to explore.

Most of my ideas are super loose and floaty, as I'm better at prose, character development, and elements of world-building than coming up with cool plots and twists and such. I imagine that if I ever were to write a story like this, it would have to be with a co-author who's better at the technical and plotting elements than I am lol. I also have a pinterest board if you just like the pacific northwest gothic aesthetic haha
