Do you think that Kaz ever mocked Skylar's catchphrase before meeting her and Oliver was constantly defending it. But old habits die hard, so it's like:
Skylar: There's a storm coming
Skylar: Skylar Storm
Kaz: "sKyLaR sToRm" Oh really? I thought it was a SPIDER STORM
Oliver: Hey! That's not nice! And spider storms actually exist, y'know. They're not very pleasant!
Kaz: Spider storms WHAT
Skylar: Wait, huh?
Skylar: I thought you guys liked my catchphrase :(
We are Nour and Nagham, doctors and sisters on the ground in Gaza, who founded and lead the globally supported initiative, PAL Humanity.
Since the beginning of this Genocide, we have been serving our community most notably through field visits and distributing aid (primarily diapers, menstrual/hygiene kits and formula). We have prioritized perinatal needs as well as children with special needs, as well as providing medication distribution en masse at UNWRA Schools where displaced families take refuge.
After a successful fundraiser focused on our aid distribution, as well as partnering with the OOB Perinatal Project, we have reached a point in our initiative where it is imperative to maximize our impact. So we are transitioning our service model from individual delivery focused to a distribution site within a full Medical Caravan model. While we will continue to perform field visits to displaced families who cannot reach us, the creation of our much needed Medical Caravan will allow us to support families at a volume simply impossible at the moment. Services provided will include medical checkups, prescriptions, distribution of medicine, hospital referrals etc. As we both volunteer at our local hospital, we have access to elevating and expediting referrals.
This community has helped us distribute 5,000 packets of diapers, 1000 packets of sanitary pads, 600 packets of milk etc.
We hope you will now help us raise $30,000 for our Medical Carvana and $50,000 for medications.
We post videos of our efforts daily (@Pal.Humanity) on Instagram and TikTok
can I be mean for a sec? I hate how the majority of the fandom cites Joshua Gillespie as someone who ‘won’ against the Fears. he really, really didn’t; in fact, he gives us one of my favourite lines + the most devastating, fundamental truth about the tma world:
Random thought I had- is it common knowledge Skylar has 24 superpowers, or does Oliver know that bc he's a Skylar storm super fan? And if it isn't common knowledge, does he know it bc of a one off line, or bc he went through each of her issues and counted?
Going with the second one because I think it would be really funny if a good portion of them were all the weird, out-of-pocket, only-had-for-one-issue, only-highly-specific-fandom-corners-talk-about-it powers.
This is a bit of a deviation from my standard spam posting - I’m not really active on here, I know - but it has to be done. I don’t get much traffic here, so if you somehow happen to see this, please reblog and/or share.
My friend’s family are still trapped in Gaza. Some of them are still in deir-Al-balah, and some have been corralled into Rafah. They used to have a lot bigger of a family, but obviously, many of them, including the person my friend was named after, were all brutally murdered by the Israeli execution powers.
One of the main reasons so many Palestinians haven’t been able to leave is the fact that the passes to leave can cost thousands of dollars, which given the fact that Gaza is now the most expensive place to live in the world, is no easy task.
Information about the family can be found in the GFM description, but as of right now, they need roughly $20.000USD to get everyone out. Please, if you have ANY spare change or Zakat that you can offer, let this be where it goes. The majority of donations will be exclusively payment for the passes, while the rest will be to help them set up somewhere in Egypt for the time being. Please, if you have any moral compass and anything to spare, don’t let those next $5 go to a shitty lunch at McDonald’s or some overpriced-ass latte at Starbucks. Let it go here.
