Hello my dears!! I would like to let everyone know that I'll be using @changbinlov3r for my writings from now on.

When I created this blog I didn't know a sideblog had so many restrictions when it comes to functionalities so before I get more followers here, I'm going to make my other blog the one I post my writings.

@hyunniesgirl will keep existing as an archive and for reblogs, I won't be reposting my stories on the other blog so I'll just let the already posted stories here and leave the link there so other people can read my "old" stuff.

 Hi.

When tumblr deleted my blog originally it was quite strange, with them suddenly censoring every picture in a  flurry of administrative activity. The last day i would get a notice of adult content literally every 30 seconds before my blog disappeared, It didn’t matter what the picture was, Edward Hopper, some birds, a picture of a butterfly, it was all adult according to them. This happened to others on a level that seemed far more mild. I would google my blog and find tumblrs where the only content that had been censored was mine, Some people said it was the open letter I wrote to tumblr about their polices that afforded me this special treatment, but I have no idea.

I had backed up a lot of stuff but i was unable to repost it here because it was all marked adult. That’s 40K pictures I had but i was unable to reblog.

Since there was still a lot of my content around, I eventually started posting infrequently again. Lots of my gifs and some other stuff was still making the rounds.

This week it’s all gone, purged from tumblr in a move that tumblr will never admit to because they don't mention it. Here’s a link  to my popular and PG gif from La belle Noiseuse. Invisible.

I see pictures 10 years old from other deleted bogs but you wont find things from mine anymore. My very PG gif from the Texas Chainsaw Massacre, gone. My letter to tumblr, gone. The censored stuff in my queue that I mostly can’t post is there but nothing on the tumblr anymore. When tumblr starts deleting your text posts, it’s time to go.

For whatever reason tumblr wants me gone, and that’s fine. People have been writing asking why I deleted stuff that was on their tumblrs, and sorry everyone, it’s not me.

Tumblr should admit to purging blogs selectively, but I suspect they never will. Never have they admitted previous mistakes or fixed them.

I only really came back to make an archive but now 60% of that archive is gone.Tumblr won.  I should have learned my lesson the first time. Better late than never.

I’ve seen so many blogs tagging “this is the original post btw” or “imagine reposting someone’s gifs”

I can asure you 99% of people don’t even notice who posts what and when, we just like and reblog and move on. I don’t even understand this much drama but I think it’s so stupid like maybe if it’s a literal gif you made and then someone uploaded it somewhere else, then ok. But like, photos you didn’t even take?

We’re supposed to be grown people, let’s just enjoy those hot old men in peace please! 🙏

Yeah, also if people see things on Instagram or wherever they’re also allowed to post those things. They’re allowed to make their own gifs of games we’re all watching together. Nobody on this website owns the Pittsburgh Penguins, we are all technically stealing from the people who do when stuff is made. There’s not a special fan level you have to reach to make your own posts—the only reason needs to be, you want it on your blog.

I don’t get it. I don’t know why this started, but I do know it hurts fandom and the community. It makes new people feel like they aren’t allowed to post and share stuff which isn’t the case at all, but if too many people think that it sets up fan hierarchies and that is so not the point of being here and doing this.

I believe very strongly in the community-building aspect of sports and sports fandom, whether that’s here or as a normie fan out at a sports bar. Gatekeepers in both those spaces shrink communities, which is the last thing sports fans should want if they want their chosen fixation to grow and improve.

Nobody owns public Instagram posts made by random people that anyone could find. Nobody owns game footage, or YouTube footage. Nobody has a special claim on posting new stuff, or making gifs, or typing text posts, or live-blogging, or whatever. We’re all here to enjoy this sport and this team and actively seeking out ways to make it less enjoyable for others is something I will never understand.

Like you said, so many of us just hit “reblog” (or “add to queue” in my case). Also to your point, actually stealing—saving down someone’s gifs and posting them either here or to other platforms, or taking someone’s photos that they themselves took and posting them around without even asking—is not okay and is unfortunately too common on Twitter. Don’t ever do that, gifs take time and personal fan photos are not public domain. But making your own gif of something that happened in a game is not even remotely that.

Deviantart Folder for more Team Dark Majesty!

Hey, you may know this already, but on this blog I try to mix in some old Team Dark stuff with the new, and do my best not to repeat reblog stuff - except the teamdarkweek pieces, which I will never shut up about forever and ever.

Filling the queue with old stuff takes quite a bit of time honestly, and one of the ways I do it is searching through deviantart and looking for things that have been crossposted by typing in the usernames into Tumblr or searching for a linked account. This doesn't produce many links, but deviantart is easier for finding old stuff than tumblr is, this site is hell.

Anyway, all to say: on my travels I have been finding loads of gorgeous team dark goodness on there, and I thought I may as well share it with you, too. On principal, I refuse to repost - especially as lots of these are on really old/ abandoned accounts, so they couldn't give consent anyway, but if you browse on there, have a look - there's some real gems!

You reblog/queue/save so much of it and yet I wonder how you keep finding new stuff. Do you just have a super deep scroll on a tag permanently open? Did you queue it all in one like 48 hour scroll? Some secret third option? I gotta know

a few options, theyre all at least partially true!!

there are a bunch of active yoi blogs!! harocat, jewishvitya, neutronice, cecebeanie, vityascielo, and blended-ice of course all come to mind, but theres plenty more i havent mentioned that i can get all sorts of yoi art from. i have a fairly consistent stream of art to queue/draft/reblog/etc which keeps me queue goin

a lot of (anime) blogs active around the 2016/2017 era of tumblr will have smth yoi related on it. this includes my own old blog for instance, but plenty of ppl have tags taht stretch back years with plenty of new stuff for me to explore. or even just stuff i havent seen in awhile

theres blogs from back in the day, for instance, that got permission to repost art from other sites like pixiv onto tumblr, like story-kat!! story-kat posted fairly consistently up until this past year, and they have SUPER extensive tags with plenty of stuff to look thru

when my drafts were in the 4k range, most of that was done in a few concentrated bursts. id find blogs w yoi tags, like story-kat or neutronice, and look thru people THEY reblogged from, look thru their tags, look thru Their reblogs, so on and so forth. sometimes if someone didnt have tags but they did reblog lots of stuff at that time, id go thru their archive to see if there was anything new or fun or exciting.

yoi was super popular when it came out!!! theres nearly endless art and writings and meta, and lots of it is still being made now!! i follow the tag as well, so i see meta posts from people such as thegirlwhorideslikeasamurai, neutronice regularly gets art commissioned for their fics, blended makes fantastic art with so much heart and love. theres a lot to sift through, and all of it is great

5 Short Fic Recs for Friday

going through some family medical nightmare so didn't really have time to check out a lot of new fic. also blog is on queue sorry if i missed any mentions and stuff. hope to be back when life gets better! anyway this week's recs! mostly old fic rereads.

The Concentration of Salt in Fresh Water (After the Deluge) by Jay Tryfanstone. Ginny/Giant Squid. 100 words. Drabble. The writing feels so atmospheric and evocative. I am really on a Tryfanstone binge at the moment and loving it. Especially love the prose and the storytelling creativity. Definitely on the LJ fandom prose style side.Which can be pretty different from modern styles. YMMV. Wishes unwritten rise like bubbles to the surface. Some – don’t burst.

2. October by ashesasheshackles. 3 Drabbles. 300 words. The first drabble is a super sharp character study of Barty Crouch Jr. Really precise and powerful. Even without the costume of another's flesh, even if it was his own bones that propped him up, his father would have failed to see him.  

3. Devotion by Anonymous. 26000 words. Complete. Snarry a thon 2023 fest collection. Snarry fic. Intense/dirty bad/hot/wrong. Exactly what I want from my Snarry! Though the worst crime of all is Potter’s. "Did you want to die?" Also The boy knows — he knows — he can take anything he wants. That bitter surrender is surrender all the same. That the force of Severus’ loathing is fed by his longing.

4. Ouroboros by eldritcher. 26500 words. Complete. One of their older fics which got reposted on AO3. Omg. The level of whoa! in this fic. Dysfunctional John Wick Voldemort wins, gets his revenge and ofc victory is totally pointless. When he understands that he gets depressed. Like really depressed. Like Kafka levels of depressed. Voldemort seducing Narcissa ftw. Voldemort pimping out Narcissa to get Snape's loyalty even more ftw. Honestly this fic was a total feverdream. Its not really a pairing fic. More of a Voldemort character study. It was a gentle game from then. I saw to Narcissa every day, cocooned her in pleasure and safety, and softly snuffed out her devotion to her husband. Lucius, poor Lucius, was too proper to pleasure his wife as she desired. I, on the other hand, had spent my childhood in the alleys of London’s East End.

5. charitable explorations by oh_gilderory. This is a Wolfstar comic with Trans Sirius Black. Complete. From the HP Trans fest 2023 collection. Short and sweet. Modern AU. Streamer Sirius. Kind of blurry and i had to zoom a lot on my kindle. but idk maybe that's just my kindle. But definitely wanted to share it because I loved it.

I love Guilty Gear and fighting games and drawing fanart, but I have no community to share or talk to people about any of these things. Do you have any recommendations?

The community's a lot bigger over on Twitter than here so you might have better luck over there tbh... But that also means that posts in the tags here will be visible for MUCH longer than they are on Twitter or Reddit. There are a couple public Discords where you could post your art too:

Tbh just throwing messages at people asking them about characters n stuff's a pretty good way to form a little community of your own too. Or posting about your headcanons/character interpretations. Sometimes people will dig 'em and add on to it or ask for your thoughts on other aspects of a character. Especially for some of the less popular/lesser known characters

Don't be afraid to repost/reblog your art a whole bunch too. Tumblr's great in that it's amazingly easy to get eyes on old posts by queueing them or reblogging them. Most of my queue at any given moment is old posts haha
