For men having a rough time right now, my friends and I have put together a couple reminders:

1) You are not a monster. Nothing in your nature predisposes you towards violence. Your presence does not harm others and there are people who love having you in their space. Yes including around women. Yes including around children. You are not inherently dangerous, you are a person just like everyone else. Your body is not a weapon.

2) You don’t have anything to prove. You don’t have to be strong. You don’t have to serve and protect others if you don’t want to. Even women. You don’t deserve to be treated as a punching bag for others’ anger or trauma at the hands of the patriarchy, and it’s not okay for them to take it out on you. You deserve to be protected too.

3) Your emotions matter. All of your emotions. Your anger isn’t dangerous. You can be sad and hurt and jealous and guilty and a million other things and express them in whatever way you need, all without being less of a man or more of a threat. Women’s needs and emotions are equal to yours, not more important. You’re allowed to talk about sexism and other issues you experience as a man—it doesn’t make you anti-feminist and it sure as hell doesn’t make you weak. Being mistreated can hurt, and you can let yourself feel and process it.

4) Manhood can be wonderful—make it your own. You don’t have to be masculine if you don’t want to. You can present and act however femininely you want without being any less of a man. You can also be the most masculine person alive. Masculinity is not toxic by itself. Being masculine does not make you toxic. Being a man does not make you toxic. Nothing about you is inherently toxic. Your attraction is not immoral and being attracted to you isn’t either. Manhood is not a contagion. Be whatever kind of man you want to be, it is completely up to you.

There are people who love and care about you. I care about you deeply and as an intersectional trans feminist I will advocate for you until my last breath. This goes for every single man alive. Cis men, trans men, intersex men, multigender men, straight men, queer men, White men, men of color, disabled men, and more; every single one of you. You deserve care. Let us care for you.

Big TW for pet loss

Hey, clangen tumblr and those who just enjoy the silly cats on this blog. I know it's been a little bit of time since my last update, but unfortunately during the past few months, I have been caring for my closest friend, Comet.

She's been my best friend for 15 whole years, and on February 9th of 2024, I'm sad to say that she has passed. I won't lie when I say that this is one of the hardest posts I've ever made, but I want to continue this blog in her honor. Normally, I have a terrible habit of just letting projects like this slip by me and gather dust; however Comet was meant to play an integral part within the blog to immortalize her, and I refuse to let something meant just for her to go to waste.

I want to thank you all first of all for being such an amazing community. I've genuinely had so much joy come of this blog, and it pains me that I let it go stagnant for as long as I have. There are 568 of you now, which is so extremely wild to me; but I hope that from now on, you can all love Comet as much as I did, even if as a memory.

I hope to return to posting content both here and on my main, @mxssacre , but for now I still need time to grieve and come to terms with the loss of someone that was so incredibly intertwined with everything I've done since I was 9 years old.

Thank you for everything Comet, my heart, my soul, my love.

Don’t be shitty about physical features, and please be *very* careful when relating these to emotional and personal characteristics - I get these can be really communicative and powerful, esp relating to things like gender euphoria, but they do that because they relate to cultural concepts about patriarchy etc that can really easily trip other people’s bad places.

And yes. All dicks are perfectly good dicks. All tits are perfectly good tits. That doesn’t mean you can’t mod them or get rid of them if you want - personally I’d love to get rid of my tits, but that’s very unlikely ever to happen, so I do my best to live with them and try to appreciate them objectively. They’re a body part and they’re fine. Body neutrality is a wonderful thing.

Unpopular opinion: you can enjoy Andor AND the other Star Wars shows at the same time. Stories are great in that they are unique - not everyone will like every story, but every story isn’t meant for everyone. It’s okay to be respectfully critical, but you never know how a story could be impacting someone’s life.

as much as im celebrating the Full Realization that yes, qbbh is recovering rn (he's on such an upswing!!), i am fully expecting there to be a downswing, and im expecting it to hit HARD.

the other day bbh made a very interesting comment- paraphrased: "it's easier when you have no attachments."

in context, he was talking about the bagi-cellbit situation and the hardship of attachments starting to conflict because of gaining so many of them, and trying to figure out what to do about cellbit (especially in regards to the feds and the eggs)

but it just. it Felt a Little Off. like maybe. foreshadowing. because he has so, so many attachments, and they keep causing him pain. how long has it been since he's last seen skeppy. how long has it been since he's seen the eggs. forever. now cellbit... qbbh is full of So Much Love and it keeps hurting him and, while he has recently swung away from hurting himself because his loved ones would be upset by it, what if he just... swung a little too far. and has a brief period of trying to drop those attachments entirely

I love that the bg3 guys are all written to have this intense adoration of karlach and lae’zel’s abilities to absolutely eviscerate their enemies. they’ve all got the same taste in women, which is “she could gut the big scary man chasing me, and then princess carry me to safety in her blood spattered arms.” and I respect and relate to that, as a bisexual man myself.

Went on a voice acting rant last night while watching Poppy Playtime with psys I'm going mildly insane

#[[ramble]] #~ v ~ #okay but SERIOUSLY Mommy Long Legs' voice actor did great I love her voice but she doesn't really sound like she's in pain #that's not a pained scream that's a scared and angry scream but where is the pain?!?! #she's supposed to be in pain and the voice actor didn't sell it right #theres a reaskn it's called voice ACTING!! it's just as much acting as doing a play or being recorded for a movis #if a character is feeling something you have to portray that well and properly otherwise it'll just seem off #this is why I'd say I'm pretty good at voice acting actually. I know how to imitate emotions really cleanly #so I can sound upset or angry or even in pain I actually might practice some to demonstrate to psys that I can #deliver Mommy Long Legs' last dialog really clealy🤔 hmm

#Wow. Okay ♡ #I love this episode. The animation is flawless. The drawings quality is out of the world for real. #I love this episode so much I'm so grateful so much care and dedication went to this sskk centered episode. #(Refraining to talk about what 5x03 could have been) #Sorry for repeating myself but seriously the illustrations this episode are so so pretty. #I rarely appreciate how Akutagawa is drawn in the anime but when it comes with this episode I really like how he looks too. #And Atsushi that I already like a lot in the anime on average‚ this episode is just fabulous. Handsome even. #Seriously I don't know who the animators are but I want to kiss them. This art style is one I dare say I like even more than Dead Apple– #that although is obviously more detailed is just... In comparison too rough for my personal taste? #The art style for this episode is very delicate and soft and I love it tons #And the directing is just great. No weird pacing or awkward ost choice. It's neat. #The reiterated placing ss/kk on opposite sides is neat. The lightening is likeable and especially the purple scene is super pretty. #The “don't compare me to him” scene is neat. The ss/kk final scene is AMAZING. It's gorgeous and stunning and awestriking and every other– #epitome in the world. It's like the only scene I believe turned out better in the anime that it is in the manga which is saying SO MUCH. #But it's really that good!!!!! My favourite anime ss/kk scene ever. #Aaaaaahhh please let me talk about it forever it's sooo pretty and especially poignant... #The heaven-like soft yellow light and how it contrasts with the bleak stormy background. Bdubs watched from a distance as his ex-joked about with his soulmate. He knew there was no changing fate, but he still longed for the days when he had all of Etho’s attention.

Bitterness began to envelope him as they walked off. The mental picture of the two hugging and enjoying each other’s company made him nauseous. He could come to grips with Etho being happy by himself. But seeing his arm wrapped around Joel was a too much for him. He had always understood that his favourite person in the world was beloved by all.

I mean, who could look at the man and not fall head over heels for him. Everything from his hair to the way he walked was eye catching. His voice deep and sweet like whisky. His eyes could stare into yours and you'd feel nothing other than a wave of comfort and love.

He never would admit it to Etho, but he was jealous. Bdubs missed the warmth that Etho brought into his world. The joy that they shared and their bond that felt unbreakable. He wanted to be the only one to see his smile; and he couldn’t stand to see Etho well off without him. He wanted to be Etho’s soulmate. But it wasn’t meant to be.

That didn’t mean that Bdubs wasn’t allowed to make his own happy memories. If anything, he was going to make the most out of his new companionship with Impulse. Even if his heart wasn’t fully invested yet.

Revenant is soooo mid which is disappointing because I was looking forward to it due to the actors and writer (this isn’t a flop like Jirisan, which I gave up on after 2–3 episodes, but it’s not really good). BUT. BUT!!!!!!!!!!!!! I’m suffering from “poor little meow meow middle-aged man” deficiency and Professor Yeom Haesang suffers so much. I can’t believe I was like “Oh...okay” about his casting because I’m planting my palms against his windows, peering at him in his little cage and being fed because he’s had the worst life ever and it keeps getting worse. HAESANG *____*<3
