Asahi: So do you want to do this? It’s a tough job but if you are ok then I’m okay with it. And then we planning to go to my country Japan for the work business there.

Matt: Hmm, let me think, but I really want too! I need to confirm back with my wife I am not sure if she would accept me to go Japan. But erm, how long will we stay there?

Asahi: Well, it depends on how we finish the work business. It can take quite long to finish I can say roughly about 5-6 months. But I’m going alone and my wife is okay with it. You know it’s my hometown. You can stay with me so no issue to book hotel there.

Matt: Alright thanks man, 5-6months it’s quite long. But it’s for the work business so I’m okay then. Just need to confirm back with my wife later going back home. Okay then anything I let you know again! Will get back to you later! See you!!

Door bell ring….

Mr Smith: Alright class, make sure you revise back what I thought just now and don’t forget to write an assay too!! Goodbye class see you tomorrow!! Oh and Maria can I see you for awhile?

Everybody in class all already gone off and only left me alone. And I was thinking what Mr Smith wanna talk to me about. I hope it nothing serious. As I pack up my stuffs everything inside my bag and then I push the chair in and walk through to Mr Smith desk.

Mr Smith: Well Maria, so this is your 1st day in school. I will give you another chance for coming late to class. You know, when you see my schedule you cannot be late ok, because I’m type of person very particular. Attendance and come on time is consider you are active in class and you can truly get good grades. But for other lectures, it’s okay to come late abit. But for my class no. Understood?

Maria: I understand, Mr Smith. I promise myself I will come early for the next schedule.

Mr Smith: Okay then I see you tomorrow! Take care!

Maria saying bye to Mr Smith and then I went off the class and I look at my watch it’s 4pm. Where the school ends at 4pm! And Marine ends school at 4:30pm! Probably I should text Marine if I can fetch her back to home or not. I send her the message and waiting for her to reply back. While waiting I walk back to my locker and I try to open up the lock and it’s still locked but then I find a safety pin out of nowhere on the floor I pick it up and adjust the pin and then I try to unlock using the safety pin. And I made it! It’s unlocked!!

Maria: Wow I never thought this is quite easy to do! As I see the life hacks thing at YouTube. lol I should have done it just now when class about to start! Jeez!

As I put everything my books all some at the locker already and I close and locked my locker. I received message from Marine.

Marine: Oh, it’s okay! Me and my friend going out after this to the cafe she ask me to follow her. She told that this cafe is so good the worker at there is really good in making the cafe delicious! I will see you at home later! Bye sis take care!!

I read through what Marine was saying in the text. And I thinking…

Maria: Wow, she on 1st day already makes friends that fast!! If only I find any friends here but… ermmm, oh well it’s just the 1st day. Will see how tomorrow..

Maria: Okay take care and be safe too!! After the cafe please go home if nothing to go anywhere. I will wait for you at home! See you lil sis!!

So I went straight home by taking a bus. I’m thinking what it’s gonna happen for tomorrow school like. I open up my file and see the schedule for tomorrow. Morning session will be Mr Smith again until lunch time and then afternoon session will be Ms Jane. Ohhh Art and craft & music my favourite!! Hope I don’t be late for Mr Smith class tomorrow. As the bus drive all the way, I listening to music and rest my head on my hand at the window and close my eyes for a while. It’s so relaxing and calm.

In Marine and her friend(Danielle)

Marine and Danielle went to the cafe after the school ends. They decided to go to the subway and arrive just 5 stations. And then Danielle show the way to the cafe through.

Marine: So Danielle, what is so good about this cafe? You have been here many times? And how did you know about this cafe?

Danielle: Ok I’m gonna talk about the cafe it’s really famous here! They just opened it this year!! I found out this cafe from the tiktok and they say the food here is so delicious and it’s made by the person itself! And you never know guess what?

Marine: Ohhh, what?

Danielle: The person is a guy and he made this cafe food delicious! And the coffee tastes so good! Of course I have come here many times but I come with my family. Just wanna know he is so handsome and cute!! Heh

Marine: Ohhh, now I get it you ask me to accompany you and then you want to come here just to see that guy? Omg girl you are still young like me and I don’t think that guy will like you or want to be your girlfriend. Ok Danielle stop!

Danielle: Well just come here and flirt or maybe wink at him or say something nice? It won’t be a problem right? Some more what I hear that guy is still single. Heh

Marine: Okay Danielle if you talk again about the guy I’m gonna walk off and go home.

So they went inside the cafe and find a seats. Danielle ask Marine to go to the menu and see what to order. And Marine was so shocked the prices were quite expensive and then I saw chocolate muffins that one is surely my sister favourite food. If I have enough money I would buy for her. Just that it’s quite expensive.

Benjamin: Hello girls, what would you like to order? I’m gonna introduce today’s menu special is Tutti fruitti ice cream with waffles and sprinkles on it and Hazelnut ice blended and also mostly Chocolate muffins!

Danielle: Hi Ben! You know me? I’m a regular customer here. But this time I bring my friend here her name is Marine. Maybe for today can you give us discount since my friend here 1st time coming here so let her try the food and the drinks!

Marine: Danielle it’s fine! You know here the price quite expensive. And then I feel like wanted to give to my sister the chocolate muffins. It’s her favourite food. At least got something to give her then until.

Benjamin: It’s okay girls. You don’t have to worry about the prices. I will give more discount on you both only because your friend is a regular customer and also your sister her favourite food is chocolate muffins too.

Danielle: Omg thank you Ben! Marine what do you want to order? For me I would like to get x1 Strawberry Shortcake cake and x1 hot chocolate .

Marine: Maybe I wanna try the today’s special menu. Also ordering for my sister chocolate muffins x1 .

Benjamin: Alright girls! For your sister chocolate muffins I do it later when you finish eating and want to go home later. If not it will not be nice if it’s already cold. Okay, total will be $30.90 together with your sister chocolate muffins included the price.

Danielle took off her wallet and then she take out $50 money and give it to Ben. I was so shocked how she got that money that a lot.

Benjamin: Okay you both can sit first while I settle the food and drinks.

Danielle: It’s okay Marine this time I will pay cause it’s your first time. You don’t have to worry about.

Marine: Ok Danielle, But I’m making you trouble some and it’s your money I will try my best if I have enough money or soon when I grow up a little I will find a job and treat you back the money too.

Danielle: Marine it’s fine! Don’t have to do that. Relax girl. Actually my parents give me money I don’t always eat at school. I save up to come here always just to get the good food and also Ben!! Review: The Tyrant's Tomb by Rick Riordan

Thoughts on The Cover

Well, if you've seen my previous posts by now you'd know that I'm not a big fan of loud and action-packed covers. I prefer classy, if not always subtle. But you might like it! See, Reyna is owning the bigger portion of it, which is a nice change. :-)

Ok to Low Points

Halfway through the book, I was STILL unable to "get" into the story

Literally, not much was going on for 2/3 of the whole book, which is very surprising considering:

The time between the release dates of The Tyrant's Tomb and The Burning Maze is the longest as of yet. Whereas other books within a series have come out within twelve months of each other, these two books will be released within eighteen months of each other.

.....and that even the most boring books by Uncle Rick had some silver linings here and there to keep you engaged. Even The Dark Prophecy had the gang arrive and settle in Indianapolis, visit the zoo and free Griffins and REVISIT the emperor. Here? Apollo and Co. escorted Jason's hearse into Camp Jupiter in a frankly insulting manner(more about that later), Apollo got sick, we see that the noble prophecies are being tattooed on Tyson's back, Apollo and Co. went on a lil' trial quest and returned, Apollo got more sick.🤷‍♀️ I was so confused I opened the previous books to see how far those stories had progressed by midpoint.

It got slightly better later on, but it doesn't change the fact throughout the 1st half of the book I just kept on turning pages SIMPLY because I wanted it to get it on with and finish the story. Sad.

2. The so-called Tyrant

I didn't see much tyranny, like...only 3 pages were spent in the Tyrant's Tomb and his company, bad old Commodus and Caligula had more appearances than Tarquin who re-appeared in the very last chapters only to get immediately vanquished courtesy of Diana.....yeah. That's that.

3. How Jason's final voyage was depicted

Uncle Rick doesn't write emotional crying scenes well.

People talk about peeing and pop chewing gum bubbles while delivering the hearses of valued, honored characters.

And I seriously wonder in what position and condition poor Jason's body was after all the drama his coffin underwent.

And based on the spoilery lines(which sadly turned out to be not spoilers at all) we saw in the Magnus Chase series I thought we'd at least get a Percy-Annabeth cameo in this, that Jason will have more of his closest comrades mourning and sending him off. Nah. Nada. Not even a mention of Annabeth. Then why did Uncle Rick mention things like Annabeth and Percy being at California and even Magnus joining them at their time of crisis? Utter puzzlement. And we were also robbed of Nico's reaction to Jason's demise, considering how much Nico valued Jason as a brother-in-arms and a friend. Let's not even talk about Thalia. Why, Uncle Rick? :-(

Which brings us to...

4. Plot Inconsistencies

Why do I have to talk about this in each and every book? :-( Seriously, why would you write about Percy and Annabeth going to New Rome to attend college and being broken hearted over Jason DURING the period of Demigod communication malfunction, only to have us know they have YET to travel across the country and when we meet them again it would still be at New York? And now the communication is working, proving that Uncle Rick conveniently forgot about the clues he conveniently dropped.

AT LEAST I'm glad one thing is consistent in the Trials of Apollo series, that when Zeus decided they'll stop meddling too much in demigod affairs at the end of Heroes of Olympus, he meant it and now it's super duper hard to seek a god even for dire needs, no matter how wonderfully (ill)timed that decision was, costing lives of valued heroes.

5. The Haiku-titles weren't amusing at all this time.

6. The whole Apollo-Reyna debacle.

I would say Uncle Rick pulled a clever twist by turning fan theories on their heads here, but it too way more plot space than needed and when he got to the "Gotcha!" part, I was not feeling it. For YEARS now, we heard abut this no-mortal-no-demigod thing over and over, and fans predicted it might mean Apollo's the one for Reyna. And when it initially seemed like it was the route that Uncle Rick was indeed taking, the only thought that circulated inside my head was; "Reyna doesn't need this completely random and unwanted baggage! Give the girl a dam break!!" But then he was like; "Lol nooo. You kids are wrong", but STILL I was not happy...well, for obvious reasons.

What's the point of this whole plotline? So unnecessary. I mean, the fans always wondered WHY exactly would Reyna think she needs a partner in her life, but now I see Reyna might not have had time to contemplate her personal life logically like WE had what's with her dramatic life. Of course the shallow gods would think her heart was something to be "cured" and Reyna never stopped to think that it's quite the opposite till Apollo provided her with a breather and reason. And to answer why din't she choose to join Amazons instead of Hunters is probably that she wanted to be her own person and not be under her sis the Queen once again. She'd indeed have the freedom, calm and few friends so she wouldn't feel lonely and bored with the Hunt. She might even choose to leave Hunters after she found herself in her own time. I get it. But the way it was dragged and executed was meh.

If Uncle Rick intended this plotline of Reyna to be empowering for female readers, in my opinion it was not. Yes, even a badass girl could have weaknesses, not enough self-confidence and wobbly life choices, but Reyna took too much time with her "Eureka!" moment.

It was funny while it lasted, at least.

“Lester.” Reyna sighed. “What in Tartarus are you saying? I’m not in the mood for riddles.”

“That maybe I’m the answer,” I blurted. “To healing your heart. I could…you know, be your boyfriend. As Lester. If you wanted. You and me. You know, like…yeah.”

HAHAHAHA. That Totally came from the left field Lester, even for you.

“Your girlfriend was pregnant when you had her killed?” Reyna launched another kick at my face. I managed to dodge it, since I’d had a lot of practice cowering, but it hurt to know that this time she hadn’t been aiming at an incoming raven. Oh, no. She wanted to knock my teeth in.

“You suck,” Meg agreed.

I shivered. How easy it was to forget that this young woman was also my sister. And Jason was my brother. At one time, I would have discounted that connection. They’re just demigods, I would have said. Not really family.

Overall Conclusion

This is the most bored-outta-my-mind I felt after reading a PJO universe book. Am I finally growing out of the Percy Jackson and the Heroes of Olympus fandom? Oh dear, I hope not. I can't imagine living without it and I'm SO not happy with this new development. Just as I feared, Uncle Rick couldn't keep it up after the excellent Burning Maze and now.....please, for your fans' sake who had been loyal for years, I hope at least the final book delivers. Just so we could at least part ways/go dormant with pleasant sentiments and a content heart.🙆‍♀️

anyway I do actually want to outline my plans, so

Next Saturday I'm moving,

Water company has contacted me already, connected with electricity company and will call them if they don't call me first on Monday. Will ask them about gas, because apparently that's through them? Might ask them about hot water, just to be sure. Not bothering with internet. Not just yet, anyway.

I can take the bedframe in my car, electricity won't connect until Monday, dad offered to buy a fridge (!!), not sure how that needs to be transported - though l will need movers to help with the mattress anyway - then crockery, pots, things to cook with, I'll need a microwave early on because I do intend to cook in batches and reheat servings, I'll need a bin for goodness sake, I will need so much fucking stuff, I'll need dishwashing stuff and spices and sugar and toothpaste and soap and things, working on that list; washing machine would be up next - I could laundromat or take laundry home in interim but look, I think I will just get it in the first or second week - dryer isn't a priority because one CAN air dry but I'm a bit precious especially in winter so YEAH dryer early on, what else: a table, not a priority but it'd be sad to consider a table a "luxury", but unlike most other things on this list I can trust a secondhand table right, also amongst my family tables are apparent abundant in storage. Ok.

That's the overview of moving. Can't express the amount of things I will simply need to acquire. Because I don't own much in terms of practical things. I have a bed, a chair, a desk, 4 bowls, 6 teaspoons with "Bri" engraved on the handle, and towels. I'll also take: Monday (the scythe), my bike, some musical equipment (electric bass, electric guitar, amps; I could go all out and take the electric drum pad, the keyboard, maybe the fucking glockenspiel, because yes I do own a fucking glockenspiel).

Next up in the plans is looking for a second job, immediately, because yeah my income doesn't cover all the expenses I will have and after *points at previous paragraphs* getting everything my savings won't exactly be the reassuring force they are right now. But wait, there's more spending, because I'm suspecting that before I get another job I'll do a barista day course, mostly because despite working AS a barista I'd be embarrassed to rock up to a cafe interview and find that to REAL baristas I'm doing it badly.

(Worth noting here that my buddy who is also my coworker is starting back at uni midyear, and depending on how his schedule works out he may have me covering a bit. I don't want to work more than the current 3 days per week AT my current job, but, until I have other options I will not be so fussy)

Depending on how successful or unsuccessful a job hunt is I may in fact do a few more day courses, because package deals exist for coffee art, RSA, food safety handling 1 courses. A nice boost to a resume and more importantly I do just want to know that stuff. But. This potential course stuff would probably take place in a precarious space between "spending all my money" and "needing the second job" so we'll see.

And then...

Guess I'll live for a bit. I only really need 1 more day of work per week to cover rent and living expenses without using savings. I'd be safer with 2 though. And 3 would be ok. So. I'll live for a bit. Working and living. Learn the bass for real this time because what else am I going to do in my loner house with no internet. Etc.

And, if/when I'm earning enough to save anything again, then, I'll save. Try to not only not die, but in fact also have a nice fucking time, yeah.

I've realised too late that I probably want new sheets and a doona that's not shit, so I won't get those but they'll be a long term goal lol, I can't see it happening though because that's like, a "luxury" and I'll have my longterm band goals to save for and things. Maybe I can ask about a new doona for my birthday way out in September and like for Christmas, lol.

This is all gonna be so much. It's gonna to be a weird time. I'm going to be like, a hermit, I reckon (I mean May I'm considering a "control" month to get an idea of all the base expenses of living so that really will be a hermit month). And then I'm going to live a painfully normal (normie) life and I will still do art lol but any aspirations I have to better the world - aside from brightening people's days with coffee and polite charm ;> - will I guess have to wait and see how I survive and get the fuck through things and what opportunities come my way and so on. I've straight up wasted my time already lol but I feel more hmm capable of doing Good and things if I'm independent and not like, coasting, so anyway dinner time bye

A year in review of the guys I dated this year

First of all, I would like to thank my ex-boyfriend Shaun for ending our relationship because without him this post would not be possible. Hi Shaun wish you well sorry for accidentally changing your name to dickhead on messenger. I don’t have a good enough reason as to why I did that besides the fact I thought it was funny, and I forgot messenger notifies you when people are given nicknames *slowly dies from regret*. I don’t know why I’m doing this but I’m bored as fuck, tipsy and I don’t have any plans for NYE so fuck it. Here we go: 

1. Nathan, you were my first ever date after I broke up with ex so I hope you feel fucking special. I would also like to apologise for sleeping with you on our first date. In all honesty I did not plan that all (maybe just a little bit) but I  thought you would not actually like me at all so I just said to myself “meh, why not”. That hook up wasn’t that bad to be honest, wish it lasted longer (hehe) but I rate it. You were great at the start, and then you kept on making up excuses every fucking time I wanted to do something with you so I got the hint (even though you said you wanted to see me again but ok). I’m still a bit salty after you told me you were so busy one night and you said that you couldn't speak to me at all but as soon as I went online on League of Legends I saw you playing which kind of triggered me a bit. No hard feelings though, I still think I went on a date too early when I was still a few months fresh off a break up. 

2. Ben, BEN…..BEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEENNNNNNNNNNN!!! I honestly fucking think we would’ve been together if you stayed in Swansea after you graduated and if you didn’t leave for China. That coffee date is probably still one of my favourite dates I’ve ever been on. I know we still talk and shit and I tell you some of my problems over Snapchat even though you’re like a million fucking miles away from me but just come back to Swansea for fuck sake. 

3. Okay I’m pretty sure it was George next (I think). Our date was nice, and we sort of clicked because we’re both basic Starbucks bitches. I don’t know who’s idea was it to go and have Jamaican food but that definitely was a good one. I think the highlight of that day was when the waiter thought I was chatting up a girl on my phone when he saw my screen when I was paying (lmao), and both of us just stared at each other like what the fuck is going on. We still talk from time to time, wish we could hang out more but you live in Bay now and I can’t be asked for that (jk). 

4. Jon, I don’t know if we ever classed our date as either romantic or friendly but I’ll talk about you anyway. I miss you! You’re so funny even though you knew I couldn’t understand you sometimes (Birmingham accent for those of you who are wondering). Even though our date wasn’t necessarily going to lead to anything serious I still really had fun! That Mumbles date was 10/10. I can’t remember if we went on more dates  but I know we “met up” a few times after that…..I definitely had a good time during them as well though! Haha. 

5. Wahaca boy, I honestly can’t even remember your name because I only went on a date with you because I really wanted to find an excuse to eat at Wahaca. Sorry m8. You weren’t for me but you were nice just little bit too nice for my liking. (Edit - I REMEMBER HIS NAME WAS SIMEON)

6. For the sake of discretion, and I don’t want to disrespect you because you’re not out; I shall call you Nick. We didn’t really go on dates but we planned to after our fuck sessions. The reason why I placed you on this list is because we had a thing but it was complicated I get it. I just wished you weren’t such an utter fucking twat to me near the end like I should’ve listened when you told me to “stay away” from you every time you drunk texted me. Saying that, I would like to apologise for being a rude to you at the end too. The only reason why I was like that was because I wanted to get back at you. I don’t regret watching Guardian’s of The Galaxy 2 without you if I’m honest, and I know it made you upset after I did that. You kind of deserved that one. You didn’t have to block me on everything though you dickhead (lol). I don’t know if you’ll ever read this but I’d like you to know you’re still my best fuck ayye lmao.

8. Luke, we never went on a date but you clearly have some issues. We were speaking for at least 3 weeks and I felt like I was already going out with an over controlling piece of shit. You threw you’re fucking phone and broke it because you didn’t have signal when you we’re on the phone to me. I’m so fucking glad I confronted you at the end after you got mad at me for “being too tired” and not wanting to speak to you that night. Jesus Christ. 

9. Owain, I know you knew as well that there was something missing during the few weeks we went on dates. I’m glad we managed to talk it out like adults and I’m happy you enjoyed the beach date I planned. Also, I know you told me to plan the same thing for another guy because it was good but you’ll be disappointed to hear I have yet to bring out the beach date after you.

12. Ryan, I really enjoyed our Las Iguanas date not gonna lie! I don’t know why you still spoke to me after I mistaken the jug of water as vodka (I know). Why did we stop speaking? You were great! Ryan if you ever get to read this I’d like you to know you are my type on paper but you said you fell asleep during the first episode of Game of Thrones and that you haven’t seen any Marvel films so you kind of killed yourself there (I’m kidding).

13. Rhys, or was it Rice? Reece? Daddy? Zaddy? I still hate you for moving to Mexico (I’m kidding). I’m sorry, I know I looked really bad going on a date a few weeks after you left. Our dates were great. You’re great. I secretly wished you didn’t find a job for January but well done I’m proud of you senor. Thanks for introducing me to Drag Race. You basically turned me into basic gay queen and I appreciate that. Also, muchisimas gracias por tu tiempo. I haven’t used it on my dissertation supervisor yet but I will one day!

14. Last but not the least, Tom. I legitimately thought you were the one. Clearly I was wrong as I’m sat here during new year’s eve writing this cringe Tumblr post. I really do want you to know I’m not mad at you, and that I understand completely as to why you broke it off. You made made my whole December. We genuinely got along so well. You’re the first person that’s ever convinced me in 9 years to go ice skating again so you were pretty fucking special to me. I still feel bad that you paid for most of our dates but I really really appreciated it when you did. Also, I know you secretly hated when I’d surprise pay for some our dates ;). I just wished you communicated with me more, you know, during that week.I know you said you wanted to keep in touch but it’ll probably take me awhile to talk you again. I’m not going to lie and say I don’t miss you because I do. For some reason, this affected me more than when my ex’s broke up with me (sorry Shaun, and Cory). (Edit - So I’m reading this again on new year’s day, back to my senses, no longer drinking 2 cups of Prosecco every 10 minutes, and I’m clearly noticing a lot of grammatical errors, typos, missing words etc. (SORRY ABOUT THAT). I don’t really know why half-tipsy me addressed the whole thing to them rather than in third person but I guessed I wanted closure since half of you I ghosted, or I got ghosted. Also, for those of you who really know me you guys know I’m an intimate person. 

Anyway, I just wanted to say if you’re going through the same thing as I am and you’re in this cycle of non-stop dating, meeting, sleeping with guys or girls until you find the one and you’re struggling at it. Look I honestly get it. It’s fucking TOUGH AS SHIT. If only everything was as simple as ‘Hang the DJ’ (my favourite ever Black Mirror episode btw I cried a few times because relatable). It’s really not the end of world, and I know its lonely to be alone (unless you like you’re own company like me 90% of the time) but we’ll eventually find that person. It hurts you know that gut sinking feeling you get every time that new person decides to break it off, and you’re just sat there like “here we fucking go again back to square fucking one”. If you guys get me haha. It’s all on time I guess. These guys/girls that you meet or go on dates with that decide to break it off with you after a few weeks. They’re just obstacles that you shouldn’t stress upon. I know everyone has gone through the same cycle of looking at your phone, checking their log in times, last active, snapchat location during or even after they’re dating that person (Hi Tom) but stop you’re doing nothing else besides hurting yourself. If you think that person is toying with you at the end then they’re not worth it. These people who just jump and jump on girls or guys, and just speaking to them just to sleep with them, or because they have nothing else to do besides adding you to their trophies, they’re not worth it. Stay away from dating apps (As I swipe through Tinder) they can be toxic (Grindr). Meet someone in real life. It’s hard but probably its better I don’t know. It’s hard to meet guys irl if you’re gay (lol). So if you’re going through the same thing as I am just hang in there, and be patient. It’s okay to feel shitty because I do but its okay we’ll get through. That anxiety you get of feeling unwanted I get it. Dan Harmon, the guy who made Rick and Morty, said some pretty good advice the past week. He said “Feelings are real, but they’re not reality”.  Focus on YOURSELF. Give yourself the time, effort, and attention you deserve. The best relief to all of this for me was spending time with my friends, and talking to them. So I advice you to do that too or eat. Eating is good.)

“Bruh, I’m so excited for tomorrow we are going to see our boys.” My friend Ellie squealed through the phone on FaceTime. We had been talking for the past 3 hours about our trip to Atlanta for the Monsta X Beautiful in The U.S world tour. It was about 11:40 am. I was browsing my Instagram looking at the shows from the other cities the boys had played in.

“I know! I’m so excited!” I said matching her enthusiasm. At this time tomorrow, we will be in the air. Just about to land. “Yeah. Dude is it bad that I’m more excited for the plane than the guys.” I mumble under my breath. She gasped “Um. Hell yes, that’s bad.” I chuckled “HOLY SHIT DUDE!! Shownu will be within 100 feet from my body in less than 35 hours.” She gasped. I laughed again “Girl, you are crazy.” “Only for Shownu, Hoe.” “True,” I said laughing again. I was still scrolling when my mother yelled up to me “Mira, get off the phone it’s time to work.”

My parents and I live in a 3 room apartment above my family’s restaurant. Which is really popular and locally known. When I can, I waitress during the summer. “Hey, dude, I have to go text me later yeah?” “Yep,” She says completely distracted. Probably by Tumblr. I mean knowing her. “Coolio. See ya,” “Yeah bye.” She said as she hit the call button I grabbed my apron and ran down stairs. I worked for about 2 hours. When I was done I had a text from El and one other friend. El had said, “AND THE KINGS HAVE LANDED SAFELY IN ATLANTA.” I replied,” yassssss.” I ran back to my room and opened my other text.

“We are in Atlanta.”

I smiled, they’re here. So you’re probably thinking ‘wow that’s a coincidence somebody else is in Atlanta’. Welp, THEY are the reason 900 kpoppers are in Atlanta.

You’re probably also wondering how I know Monsta x. That’s a story for later. Ellie DOES NOT KNOW ABOUT ME KNOWING THEM. It’s my surprise to her tomorrow. But anyway the text was from Changkyun or better know as I.M, the maknae of the group. I texted him back.

“Yay, I missed you guys so much. Can’t wait to see you guys tomorrow. We still meeting before the concert?”

It wasn’t even a minute before he replied: “Missed you too, bubbles and yeah just text me when you are at the hotel.”

“Yes, Kookang Oppa.” (*insert saluting sticker)

“Ok, see you tomorrow.” He replied quickly.

“Bye bye.” I typed back.

It was about 3:30 and I was kind of tired so I took a nap which turned into a full sleep. I was out for the rest of the night.

The next morning I woke up at 8 to a few IMessages from Ellie and a few Line messages from the guys.

ELLIE- 7:58: ”GOOOOOD MORNING THE CLOUDS ARE SHINING AND KIHYUN IS SINGING.” Girl, you don’t know how dead on you are. She must know it’s raining, either that or she is so excited that she’s delusional.

ELLIE- 8:08: “When is Tessa picking you up?”

Tessa is my 37-year-old sister. I was adopted and her father is my adoptive father. Her mother passed away when she was a teen and my adoptive mom is her step.

ELLIE- 8:15: “Have you left yet?”

ELLIE- 8:24: ”I’m leaving now, see you at the airport.”

MY FUTURE HUSBAND (*insert flame, lock and key, ring and purple heart emojis): “Hi future wife safe travels can’t wait to hug you.” OK, I didn’t program his name, he did and by he, I mean Lee Hoseok aka Shin Hoseok Aka Wonho.

CHAEBOT: “If I’m not awake when you visit wake me up.” lol yeah so I’m the only one he will allow to wake him up. Even if it is hard to do.

I replied to them respectively, rushed to collect my chargers, got changed and ran down stairs. Tessa was already here and had packed my backpack.

“Hello,”

“Hi, Tess.”

“Ready?”

“Yep. Bye, Mom. Bye, Dad.”

“Bye, honey. have a fun time take lots of pictures” She said coming over and giving me a hug.

“I will,”

“Tell El I said hi and tell Peanut happy birthday.” Peanut is Ellie’s now 10-year old brother who is cute and tiny hence peanut. He has been Peanut since before he was born. But according to her, his nickname is Peanut because he has a “peanut shaped head” so not true though.

“I will,” I said trying to avoid being sucked into another hug.

“We have to go our flight is taking off at 10:45 and have to get through security and…” Tess says.

“Yeah, yeah I know let’s go,” I say grabbing the rest of my stuff.

“Ok bye guys see you tomorrow” my mom calls.

“Bye be safe girls” yelled my dad from the behind the counter

“Thanks and ok” I open the door and walk out to Tess’ car.

I text El that we are on our way and put my headphones in. So here’s the dealio Tessa isn’t a kpopper but she watches Korean dramas and wants to travel to Korea but that’s it. El and I are 16-year olds so we couldn’t go on our owns. I have been into Kpop for almost 7 years and El 5-6. I stan most group but El, only a few. Monsta x is her main group. I can’t have one (the story is connected to the one for later) anyway this was my gift to El as an early birthday present. So I hope she’s happy with her surprises.

After 30 mins or so we reach the airport El is already here with her mom and little brother waiting for us. I text her letting her know we are parking and will be there in a few minutes. Tess and I walk from our parking level the elevators to go to the ground. We walked a bit and get to the door of the main building. I scanned the room quickly and saw my best friend. We spotted each other at the same time then rushed each other for a hug. We crashed almost falling. We hadn’t hung out in a month. We were best friend deprived. I separated from her when I saw Peanut.  “Hi Peanut happy birthday,” I said giving him a hug and kiss on his head. “Thank you,” he said blushing. Oh yeah, he has a crush on me and it’s so cute. I said hello and gave their mom a hug. She’s like a 3rd mom to me. After a few mins, I felt my phone vibrate. It was Wonho. He asked if we at our airport yet. I quickly replied. The notification reminded me of why we were at the airport. “Dude, we have to get going.” Tess looked at her watch. “Yeah we do,” She said. We said our goodbyes with the fam and went to go through TSA. Once we got through security we grabbed Starbucks and went to our gate. By the time we reached the gate they had just started to board. We waited till our zone was called. El and I were eager to get on but Tess, not so much. We boarded the plane. El was in the window on my left I was in the middle and Tessa on the aisle to my right. The three of us put in our headphones and relaxed. At 10:56 we were off.

When we were landing, El had a mini freakout because the plane hit turbulence. Let’s just say I’m cutting her claws when we get to the hotel. Cause that shit hurt. Excuse my language.

It’s 3am and I’m awake because a perfect storm of shitty events and biological factors and very specific circumstances have brought me back again to the point I enevitably find myself at a few times a year. Does its relative infrequency diminish its legitimacy? Or is it its circumstantial nature that makes it less clinically significant? Either way it makes me feel like everything up to this point has been a lie and that the only way out is either never sleeping, or going to sleep forever.  And you know what else? Alright it’s September already. Haha Aug was probably the most happening month after my hiatus from excitement since i think Feb???

But anyway I really didn’t intend to fly two times to the same country within the same month lol. The first one was a genuine holiday trip already in place months ago, the second one popped out only one month before. Er I don’t know what made me decide to go for the second one, probably cos I was captivated by the thought of visiting Xitou, or ok lah maybe I was just being a senseless infatuated fangirl.

The holiday trip was good and all (well it is a holiday after all), i think travel companions matter a lot. So thankfully the friends were all easy-going suibian people who dont mind sleeping in on trips, doing nothing on various days, eating lame food etc etc. On the first day we got our hair done at in%, then I dumped the friends to get a photo with Kent Tsai my new obsession!!! He’s a very very cute derpy little boy. HAHAHA I missed one hour of Peici’s concert as a result of that but ok it wasnt too bad. Did i mention peici’s concert was the reason this trip existed in the first place - as weird as it sounds to have arose from jt LOL. Then I met tph’s tw fan to pass her some i-weekly magazines (lolol) and we spent the night roaming around raohe. LOL i think one memorable moment was getting a leg cramp the moment I sat down in the taxi after walking ages at the night market, I was trying to control myself from screaming in pain and attempting to give directions to the cabby at the same time lmao.

On the 2nd day we concurred to sleep in. Jalan-jalan around XMD, random shops and the arcade, went to my favourite GUANG NAN!, I found the camera streets to buy the battery which I very smartly forgot to bring, more jalan jalan and spent the night early at our accom stocked with beer and food. Shiok! Actually this is the perfect holiday itinerary.

3rd-4th was packed with the tour itinerary up to shei-pa. Ok this was suggested by me because I am a sucker for mountainous areas, I am going to conquer all the national parks in taiwan. Not too bad with nice chilly air, although not as chio as i expected hmms. Jt and I attempted one of the forest trekking paths ourselves and shit that was one scary 40mins of our lives HAHAHA. There was freaking not a single soul in the whole forest and the path was much longer than we expected. There was a point when I wondered if I would ever get out of that place. Then we missed some star-gazing guide at night because idk who remembered the timing wrongly wtf hahahahah then we forced the provision shop to sell us beer and cup noodles even though they were already closed.

Oh yeah I forgot to mention that the bendy roads up were one of the worst..even I felt a bit bad upon reaching the top (I am usually the one enjoying being thrown around the vehicle). Went up further to the national park area - more mountain views, and trekking paths!!! Ok lah my stamina still survivable. Wasted time visiting some boring museum-ish place along the way down and I was late for my Kent Tsai bubble tea shop event. Sucks! Hahaha literally opened my luggage along the streets of xmd to change my camera lens. We did supermarket shopping that night, the loots were a considerable lot hahaha. I remember sleeping around 3am trying to watch xmj’s live after all the packing and watching tv.

Last day was the epic shit having breakfast at the hotel and getting caught in a rat attack. LOL it was damn amusing cos people were screaming and some auntie was trembling in fear just because of one rat. But the rat ended up getting killed right beside our table (VIP zone for us) and I was recording it and we were screaming and laughing so hysterically HAHAHAHA. Shit the singaporean spirit, I was one of the only few whipping out my phone to record the commotion lolololol. We wanted to visit maokong for the last few hours but I think we ended up just roaming the taipei main station underground shops and spending money on arcade and gachapons.

Hahaha definitely an enjoyable trip. We hit 600 for our basketball machine!! and the stupid fruit vinegar drink I bought for kent tsai but had to use it as forfeit to finish the not-so-nice drink XD

Back to work for another two weeks and I was off again. This time for jaydaone only jaydaone. Haha another set of easy-going travel companions, so everything was gooddddd! We checked-in early to get some last minute buys for him (lol the TWG tea smelled funny honestly) and we thought we had much time to jalan jalan and ended up being the last few at the boarding gate.  Took our time to fly there, eat breakfast at the airport, slowly made our way to taichung, and after much walking around finally reached xitou. Shit the bus from taichung to xitou was damn awesome for catching up on sleep. Our minsu owners didnt let us go back to the accom and insisted we toured the monster village first before returning. Oh well never give laoniang here chance to put makeup.... haha we finished the whole village i think by 6+pm. Its not as big as I thought.... but there were some amusing things which we are still laughing over now LOL just some very vulgar packaging boxes useful for scolding people. Cant stop using the phrases after that. Hahahaha bought convenience store food (my mayday limited edition taiwan beer!!) and we were back in the accomm by early night. Idk how we still dragged until past 12midnight to sleep lol . Ate our food (without utensils!!! how can family mart do this to us), drank beer watch TV listened to jaydaone’s radio (and off-ed it halfway cos it was damn noisy) wrote some cards and nuasaied in the room. Shiok.

Up earlyyyyyyyyyyyy as planned but took longer than expected to get ready. So we were behind our own schedule hahaha sucks! We panicked when the minsu person told us it would require around 40mins to reach the event location from the main entrance. Had to forgo the minsu breakfast :c and we made our way direct to the event location. That was quite a climb, and wtf lyc reached even before us. We choped a good spot and yeah of course everybody else just conveniently slotted in without expressing any form of gratitude, ohwells hahahaha but doesnt matter la there is no fierce competition there and then. Lyc appears and sang 4 songs, I wasnt watching him most of the time cos I was busy taking photos. Errrrrr like lol I flew over there just to watch him but end up looking at the camera screen. But I think he was in a good mood c: Haha at the end of the performance we had a mini gathering nearby, it was longer than the performance time. I remember he emerged and was walking down the slope and we went up to say hi. MY PRINCE ON A WHITE HORSE *v* ahhhh hahaha please pardon me while I switch to xmm fangirl mode. I think the rest I should just leave it because I have already recorded it down somewhere and it is not easy to put into words without sounding like a freak. But he is nice nice nice very very nice and I am very very grateful he is who he is. I think I’ve seen him for >15 times but this is the first time(?) i held his hand properly HAHAHA shit this is going to sound erxin but when he was leaving he was saying thanks and he held out his hand so I reached out for it and at that moment I just had this thought that, Oh dear I don’t want to let go yet so I held on and he didnt let go too (!!) I think I had his right and stephy had his left. Hahahahahahaha. Then he gave the kind of look that goes through your eyes and said xiexie. Walao please please kill me please 为什么就是一股温暖满满的温暖我感觉支持你快10年了我青春有你什么都值得了

Lol okay enough hahahaha i think its hard for people to understand. Anyway right after he left we walked back to attempt some last minute sightseeing before rushing for the bus. I remember us scolding some shit while walking HAHAHAHA so much for putting on a fake demure front when the idol’s around. Back to taichung and met with mans the siao last-minute-decided-to-come girl, we created a tiny hoo-ha at uriko’s art exhibition cos they got to know that there were a few singaporeans there lol. But she is very pretty and talented. Now I understand why tintin went crazy over her hahahahaha. Our schedule for the night had two deleted items, one pan wei bo event and one dimdimsum trip, we ended up having dinner at yizhong and trying out the random 100dollar item vending machine. Watched kent tsai and the chi qing nan zi han at night. Freaking 3rd row in a huge cinema i think my neck is very unwell. Walked fengchia at night and found out our flight was delayed by freaking 8 hours!! Ded. Made plans to cancel our HSR tix.

Last day was spent on Kent Tsai at kaohsiung. Haha shit his face was sooooo grumpy that day. We had another round of the movie for the after-show qna and he actually asked us to shhh cos our cameras were so loud. Wtf hahaha this kid. But he is still very cute lah. Then we went to the adidas exhibits thingy and ruifeng night market (extra time cos of the flight delay zzz) and then we slowly took the bus back to taoyuan. Reached airport at 4+am I think. Haha last minute buys at 7-11 and beer. I think I was close to k.o. already, i need sleep!!!! Horrors of further flight delay by 2hrs. Lol kept thinking of how to kaopei the flight carrier. Ended up we didnt use the meal vouchers cos we thought they were for in-flight when they were actually for airport shops zzzzzzzzzzzz. But at the end they gave us flight vouchers and insurance is claimable so Ok lor I dont mind. Luckily I took extra day leave for work beforehand, if not jialat only.

Hahaha awesome awesome trips. Shit once the flying starts I think it is hard to stop. Oh dear. Sigh its back to reality for now... dont know how long I can survive without anymore excitement....... Argh I think i sound like a kid. But whatever lah gimme a break from all these adult life and societal cruelty (and SHITASS people) for once or twice. Bye back to the mundane mundane shitty life.
