would young dr stone face look the same as old him or was he an absolute hottie bachelor (not that he isnt hot now we both know i love me an old man) this isnt urgent but i need to know- he just strikes me as the type to have been an absolute heartbreaker back in the day
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
One of these days I might draw a younger version of Dr Stone (iv actually been thinking about it since I first made him LMAO but someday someday smhhh) but his youth? Well he had a shid ton of ex wives NDHHDHD- he’s not very good at keeping relationships smhh but he wasn’t always this bitter (well- still kinda was-)
also bonus doodles both related and not-
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Ok yeah I know I literally just released another character but that’s Robbie’s family so it doesn’t matter too much JDHDHDH-
ANYWAY Harvey Bazaar! The firefly! Not really meant to be a puppet-able muppet, just a old man ya would see occasionally on posters and mentioned on a scrap of a newspaper smhhh (or see him in the faaaaaaar distance in his home riding Shelly to their next destination)
He’s a traveling merchant! Sells lil goods he makes while traveling (from trinkets to food- mans literally got it all, all made by him) however he’s very passionate with his hat making! (Only does custom orders! Last time he made too many hats he lost them all in a river from a really bad storm- was a very sad day for him smhh)
A jolly old passionate man who’s determination and happiness couldn’t be beat,,, even after all these years, he still wants to travel all over the world

Ugh I'm still thinking about that damn tweet so...
2x08 Reaction #6
Ok, so this is not a screed against people posting about or hoping for Izzy's return - whether in joking denial or genuine belief. Like if that's what makes you feel better after the finale, you are entitled to all the posts, fix-it fics, etc.
But.
I really want to push back on this idea that it's this obvious thing canon is supporting.
This is not another Lucius situation. Like. It's just not.
Look, when Lucius was "killed" at the end of S1, it was a joke everyone was in on. He got tossed over the side of the ship with a little "fwoop" and a literal shoe spinning in the air. His "offscreen death" was confirmed by a guy who could not have known what happened after he fell. Of course he was alive.
Lucius's fake-out was so successful because it engaged with the genre of the show in a way that rewarded the audience for buying into the suspension of disbelief.
Izzy's death... doesn't.
Izzy dies from a stray bullet in a shot that you might miss on first watch. He's not doing anything important, or protecting anyone. It's random. They reveal he's injured and then make it back to the ship, only for him to give a dramatic deathbed speech. He dies on screen, and they immediately cut to his funeral.
This isn't the kind of death that fits with OFMD's universe. They tried to borrow a scene from Black Sails or something and just sanded down its edges. Killing a character in the main cast just because "it's a pirate show"? Really? The daring escape plan is real and dangerous and life-threatening in the same episode where Auntie survives an explosion, and we watched Zheng and Edward casually massacre their way through a dozen soldiers each?
I'm buying into the suspension of disbelief that our ragtag crew can escape scott-free because it's a silly romcom about a muppet guy where "things always have a way of working out in the end", and then the show looks me dead in the eye and says "Actually, no, this time the consequences are real. Sorry."
A bird landing on a grave doesn't change that?
Like... in Pirates of the Caribbean they can resurrect Barbossa from the dead like it's nothing because some of the first worldbuilding elements they introduce are a compass that points at what you most desire and gold that curses you into an undead existence. Of course necromancy exists.
OFMD had a guy turn into a seagull behind a tree for plausible deniability, a cursed coat rationalized as a peanut allergy, and the gravy basket which took place wholly in Edward's head. Resurrection would be a hell of a reach. Even if they did open S3 with it, it would be a retcon of Izzy's death, not a reveal that we all could have predicted.
Which does mean that pointing to vague tweets from the crew or likes of Witch!Buttons posts and pushing the idea "Look - they're telling us he'll be back!" leaves a sour taste in my mouth. Like... it's not set up as an inside joke this time. And especially if they don't get renewed - and they certainly seem worried - they should not get credited for leaving this particular beat "open" and just being thwarted by MAX or whatever.
Izzy dying right then, as shown on screen, was unambiguously their final beat.

WIP Wednesday
Turns out holiday with family does not provide as much time for writing as I thought… the lazing around is less focussed, more flitting between crossword and bits of 4 different fics I’m reading and the actual real life physical BOOK. Crikey, it’s been a weirdly long while since I picked up one of those.
However I was lying awake at 4am and that is a much more natural time for writing for me (apparently…) so… here’s something I’m working on which started as part of one thing then shifted into its own thing and is the beginning of a belated answer to the fabfivefeb prompt for Scott (because of course I’m trying to use them all because I’m a muppet). It’s super rough and a bit monologuey. And rough. I probably shouldn’t post it really. But might nudge me into writing some more as I’ll want to improve it as soon as I press post…
Anyway… an external POV of our young flyboy… would love your thoughts.
✈️✈️✈️✈️✈️✈️✈️✈️✈️✈️✈️✈️✈️✈️✈️✈️
Ashmore McKellar’s new wingman was a lunatic and was going to get them both killed.
And that wasn’t even the worst thing about him.
He sat at a quiet corner table nursing a single malt and impassively observed the cocky idiot cackling away with the rest of their unit, none of whom seemed to realise how annoying he was. Everything from the ludicrously immovable hair to the stupid blue sneakers via the childish necklace of wooden beads he seemed to never be without and… ugh and that incredibly irritating dimpled grin. Everything about the man set his teeth on edge.
He wasn’t glaring though - his poker face was always on point. The fact he was fantasising about burning a hole in the side of Tracy’s head should be externally invisible and so it was a shock that, when the man in question glanced up and caught his eye, the happy expression faltered slightly and a crinkle of uncertainty marred his perfect brow.
Oops.
Well it would probably do him good to know not everyone thought the sun shone out of his...
He shook himself slightly and dropped his gaze to the melting ice in his glass. This was not normal: laidback Ash was friends with everyone, to the extent it was sometimes bordering on a character flaw. People just didn’t tend to wind him up.
Ok, time to critically examine the unusually intense reaction… why was he being like this? Was he… jealous? Tracy was undeniably a hotshot, although with a reckless approach that was definitely going to cause trouble. He wasn’t the first of those, however and wouldn’t be the last. Ashmore had never been the best and that didn’t bother him. The skills that seemed to have come naturally to the others he had earned with hard work and constant repetition. He built up to things until he could do what was required. He calculated the parameters to the nth degree and approached every flight manoeuvre with scientific precision. His piloting was efficient and reliable and he got the job done. But this was undeniably rare in his profession and certainly this particular unit was chock full of showboating flyboys and flygirls with whom he got on just fine. So the fact Tracy was no different shouldn’t affect him.
Nor was it even the ridiculous antics that were definitely going to get them both killed… if someone didn’t throttle the guy first. No. It wasn’t that. He could deal with that.
He suppressed a sigh and downed the rest of his drink. It numbed his sore throat and the burn brought a temporary relief to the pressure in his sinuses. Maybe this was really just bad temperedness because he was coming down with something.
Perhaps the whisky brought clarity because suddenly he knew exactly what was going on because Ash’s sub-conscious had already figured out this working relationship was going to be deeply uncomfortable.
Earlier, a headache-ridden and slightly feverish Ashmore McKellar had told everyone he was absolutely Fine. And, as always, everyone had believed him… because they always did. His poker face was, as ever, on point.
Everyone except Scott Tracy, who had seen right through him with those freakishly blue eyes and had palmed him two paracetamol with a pointed eyebrow raise and not let him out of his sight all afternoon.
Damn him.
Nobody got past Ash’s “Fine”.
Nobody.
If Tracy could… then what else was he going to see?

How do you think a WarioWare TV show would work? Personally I see it as being a mix of UHF and The Muppet Show. Wario sees dollar signs in the TV industry so he starts his own network and gets all his friends to make their own wacky shows for it. I think it could work.
OK this is actually crazy because i was literally just watching a recorded episode of pee wee's playhouse (as you do) and having to physically restrain myself from assigning pee wee's playhouse characters to the warioware cast. How'd you get in my head
But anyways you kind of are on exactly the same wavelength as me because i legitimately think jim henson and his crew were the greatest artists to walk this planet and i have compared the wario crew to the muppets a frankly embarrassing amount of times. I think a wario show in that vein would work differently from either of those shows though because as I have feverishly explained wario is the anti-kermit. Wario as a TV show host would be a fundamentally different experience because he's not as earnest of a character, or at least not in the same way. I think i'd like a show like that to lean more into the faux-edgy nineties brand of "cool", which is kind of baked into early warioware stuff anyways but it'd be a funny way to get really out there with the wacky aesthetics without losing touch with wario's character. Maybe they can have some slime in there if they're good.
I could also see it working like a more focused version of animaniacs, with a set of story-driven minisodes focused on different characters and a bunch of little standalone skits sprinkled in there. Wario could have deliberately misleading "educational" videos, crygor could have shitty homemade commercials advertising his latest inventions, mike could have some copyright-friendly music video parodies, and so forth. Ideally we wouldn't be reusing the same skit premises every time, but I think those have enough potential to be semi-recurring segments.
All I know is that if they ever want to make an authentic warioware tv show 2) it cannot dwell on the same plot for more than five minutes and 2) i'm very employable and please hire me

PLEASE expand on your thoughts for muppets abc i would love to hear them /nf /gen /pos
Okay for some reason I didn’t get notified for this ask so sorry it’s a bit late!
But YES thx for the opportunity to rant ab this show
Pros
I actually am a big fan of muppets abc. I’ll get into the cons later but I like the style of humor the show has (for the most part), I like when the muppets have more of an adult spin where it’s not like family guy humor but it’s a little more mature than most muppet projects. The modern muppets have been so heavily targeted toward children in many projects that it’s nice to see them recognize that a lot of modern muppets fans are adults (not that adults can’t like children’s humor, I for sure do, but y’know).
Also I really like a lot of the people they chose as guests for the show, and I honestly like the sitcom style following the muppets backstage of a show. I think it’s a good modernization of the original muppet show premise that allows it to focus less on skits and more on characters. Also normally I despise social media plot lines but I actually like the way this show handles pulling the muppets into the digital age, which is crucial for such a timeless property.
Also, as many problems as there are for muppets fans, it’s a really good show to watch with people who casually enjoy the muppets. This show’s style is more to the taste of some of my family members so I like watching it with them. And separate from the muppet’s characterizations the comedy is really good (but that’s subjective so I can see how it rubs some people the wrong way).
Cons
For one the cliffhanger ending kills me. Even if this show was weirdly received it had a really short run, they could’ve used a few more episodes or another season so we didn’t get left on such an annoying cliffhanger (that left Kermit and piggy still officially broken up since the show didn’t continue long enough for them to get back together).
Ok let me get into characters now, because that’s a criticism that I think is 100% valid (though I also think few people other than jerry juhl have properly understood the muppets and not flanderized their characters in some way)(but yeah it’s really bad here).
Scooter!!
How they’ve massacred my boy!
We’ll get to piggy but scooter is the one I’m most upset about. Why? Why change him from nepo baby humor to haha nerd comedy?? It was 2015 man we love making fun of nepo babies and rich people nowadays why would they change the character whose gimmick gets funnier with age?
His characterization feels pulled from the Big Bang theory. All his comedy is just “virgin nerd” comedy. I love that the show tried giving him more screen time than other projects but they fumbled the bag. He was a spoiled teenager who was wild and fun and could get away with anything because his uncle was rich. I get he’s older now but I refuse to think aging did this to him.
Because I’m a nerd I’m gonna pull some quotes about scooter from the new Richard hunt biography bc that man understood his characters.
“Like Hunt, Scooter is a born performer. Scooter also resembles Hunt in his amiable disposition and his almost nonchalant acceptance of the other characters and their quirks.”
“This acceptance stems from his own quiet confidence in himself… happily amusing himself and the people around him.”
“‘Scooter is a perpetual kid and very comfortable with who he is,’ said Hunt.”
HMMMM? CONFIDENCE? A PERFORMER? COMFORTABLE WITH WHO HE IS?
abc scooter just gives off such anxious vibes it really makes him feel like he’s lost the part of himself that made him so much like Richard Hunt.
Piggy
Ughhh she’s just not fun to watch for the most part in this show. I like the idea of her being the star of the show this time around, reminds me of her unexpected rise to fan-favorite muppet soon after Oz took over her character.
I also really like her friendship with deadly. I think miss piggy so often is boiled down to her love for Kermit that I really love the idea of having her explore platonic bonds. Her looking so hard for happiness in romantic relationships but eventually realizing that deadly is the one who’s been by her side, that he’s her friend and that she really loves him for sticking by her is a really sweet arc (for both of them. Love platonic piggy relationships and I like the modern fashion designer vibe they’ve been doing with deadly, I think it’s a fun reimagining of his original character).
But her diva meter really is pushed up to eleven.
Not to pull more from the Richard hunt bio, but Oz describes piggy as “The tough woman underneath the coyness. And the fact that she had to be coy to get things the way she wanted them, like most women at that time.”
Piggy is from humble beginnings and understands how she needs to act to get people to feel a certain way about her. She also won’t take shit from anybody, though. She knows her worth and knows she’s worked hard to get here, but it also was such an uphill battle to stardom for her I just refuse to believe she would become so selfish and act so privileged the way she does in the show.
ABC piggy doesn’t feel like a girl who tries to be coy but knows to be tough when she needs to be. ABC piggy is mean. She has a thin temper and everyone is scared of her and she’s so removed from the non-famous life that she has trouble bonding with people. She only does community service for publicity and can barely manage to do any manual labor. She’s not tough. She’s angry. She’s short-tempered and violent. And she has no trace of her humble roots, that gratefulness for the position of fame she’s in that she holds in so many other roles.
Others
Sam is pretty creepy. I love his gag of being the censorship for the show, him popping up saying “can’t say that” is a nice little nod to him trying to control the chaos of the original show and his little conservative speech sketches. His crush on Janice is kinda odd tho. I like him getting more modern spotlight, I really like his character in most wanted (though a rewatch of that is needed haven’t seen it in a while). But yeah he’s kinda weird here.
Also why were gonzo and Camilla broken up. Disagree. Idc about your relationship drama they’re the muppets otp.
Uhh trying to think off the top of my head, it’s been a few months since my rewatch of the show. I don’t like the mayhem fight. I think teeth and Floyd fighting over Janice is weird and off for them in modern day. Respect Janice rejecting labels, go off Queen.
Conclusion/TLDR
I had more to say than I realized but I don’t want to make too long of a post. Tldr, I really like the show and it’s humor but it does feel divorced from “the muppets” as a pre-established franchise and characters. The characterization is bad, even though I appreciate them trying to give more screen time to some lesser used characters, it didn’t really work. I just think it had a lot of potential, and I like the idea of a more adult but still family oriented muppet show, but the execution was really hit or miss.
Refer to my previous post about it for more condensed thoughts, weird show all around lol
Also stan abc Big Mean Carl. Stole the show, 10/10

The brother in laws 😊
Please have some unfinished sketches :)
Comic 1
Lips : Weird AL came from the clouds to talk to you?
Floyd : Yeah man! It was freaky as shit!
Comic 2
Lips: Actually Floyd the moon is very much real, and there are still astronauts still going there to this day.
Floyd : pfft you really should stop spreading false truth around Lips, if that even is you name. 🤨
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Ok I feel like their relationship with one another would be straight man and jokester in a way. Like I don't want to say that Lips is the "smartest" out of the band;but his page in the muppet wiki book does say that he gives lectures at a college, and we see him reading a lot in the 2015 series. Also in that show where Zoot had asked if the moon was real or not Floyd said "Ain't no real moon. Not since the 70s." And it seemed that Lips was about to say something before Scooter walked in and interrupted.
So this brings me to an aspect of their character dynamic I think they should have. Floyd would say something stupid about conspiracies and Lips would back it up with factual evidence. Just for Floyd to tell him that he's spreading miss information and that its not ok.
And I'm not saying that Lips hates Floyd or dislikes him. No they're good friends. But I do headcanon that Lips does tolerate Floyd and Janice's relationship even if he doesn't think his actions make him a good fit for Janice.

Silly question you don't have to answer but if there was a Brian's house movie night what film would everyone pick. feel free to give answered for characters like HP and Ball Pit Beast also
Oh god I've suddenly forgotten every movie I've ever seen. Hold on.
Kid: Given full control of what to pick from the household's streaming service(s) of choice, ends up putting on a nature documentary. Loves it to bits.
Ashley: I think he'd like John Wick. Shot down for being too violent. Every other idea he has is also too violent.
Brian: Actually likes some older family comedies, surprisingly? Something like that. Think like Elf but not Elf because Elf doesn't exist in this universe.
Chantal: Is about to put on a Satoshi Kon movie when reminded that the content matter may be too intense for Kid. Concedes, and goes back to the drawing board. After much deliberation, puts on Ponyo. She wants everyone to know that she picked Ponyo after a lot of careful consideration and debated the pros and cons of putting on other movies as well and wants Kid to begin developing their own sense of taste in movies early and NOT because it's the most obvious choice, ok???
Bass: Not invited to movie night. Would've picked some like, known-to-be-good-by-common-consensus movie from when he was younger but nothing too "artsy" because he doesn't get those kinda movies and it frustrates him.
Dr. Zeller: Puts on Finding Nemo for Kid.
Ball Pit Beast: Eye of the Universe - Mandelbrot Fractal Zoom (e1091) (4k 60fps)
AI: Over 70 Sorting Algorithms in Under an Hour - Linked Disparity Dots
HP: The Muppets Take Manhattan

Our Flag Means Death Character Review:
(Except I’ve never seen the show and just know it from memes)
- Ed: wears nice clothes well. This is Important. Epic beard. Disagrees with turtles fighting crabs, but not with drowning a skinned man. Big man, big beard, big tears. Doesn’t understand spoons.
- Stede: dresses like a Candyland native, talks like C-3PO, would set a boat on fire with the crew on board. Is actually in a Muppet Pirate Movie but doesn’t know it.
- Israel “Izzy” Hands: has a hard time adjusting to his Big Scary Pirate Captain suddenly developing Feelings; accidentally forgets to not be homophobic about it.
- Lucius: doesn’t really think he’s cute; decides to behave as if he were anyway, accidentally manages it despite himself.
- Wee Jon: Hodor
General Notes:
- Apparently some members of the crew of this 1717 vessel of naval piracy have seen American cinema classic The Graduate (1967). Lucius has not.
- There’s a floating library. Some people are not impressed by this, like fools.
- the library has books from the future
- I wanna visit the library ok shut up
In summary, although these men sought booty and fortune, what they truly stole was our hearts.

15 people, 15 questions
tagged by @cuoredimuschio 💞
are you named after anyone? My English name comes from a Diana Wynne Jones’ character, like a straight up kid's book. My Chinese name is really embarrassing. It comes from a historical figure. My dad came to the US for his education and his father was resentful that he wanted to immigrate here and would not be able to spend as much time with his family in Hong Kong, so when my grandfather chose my name, he named me after a historical figure who was given away to* barbaric foreigners.* I want to change my name to something else but haven’t and only my relatives in HK call me this but I haven’t been back in so long so it doesn’t matter as much.
when was the last time you cried? About a month and a half ago, my friends put down their dog and Facetimed me so I could say goodbye to him.
do you have kids? Nope and can honestly say I’ve never wanted to have them. I understand from an aging standpoint that it makes sense to spawn a caretaker but I don’t think I’d be able to care for another human being like that, I can barely take care of myself and my dog as it is.
what sports do you play/have played? I dance a lot now, but I don’t compete so I don’t think it qualifies as a sport. In school, I did track and field, volleyball, and tennis.
do you use sarcasm? Frequently, but I’m also embarrassingly earnest about many things as well.
what's the first thing you notice about people? Probably how they dress, groom, and carry themselves and whether they seem comfortable to be in public or not.
what's your eye color? Brown
scary movies or happy endings? I don’t really watch horror, but maybe I do prefer scary movies because I like a lot of movies that are a little uncomfortable to watch, where you don’t know what will happen in the end. When it comes to movies, I think I’m ok with having a bittersweet or even unhappy ending, probably because movies tend to be shorter and less immersive for me. I guess I don't need a happy ending for me to enjoy something but the story's gotta be compelling.
any talents? I can whistle through my teeth, am an adept conversationalist IRL, and am good at interviews and general corporate bullshittery, which I think is how I’ve managed to stay employed but do very little work 🤐
where were you born? The US Midwest! But my parents moved a few months after I was born, so I never really lived there.
what are your hobbies? Reading, dancing, calisthenics, drawing, strategy games, playing with my dog, hiking, and admiring art, zoning out, floortime
do you have any pets? Yes, the love of my life and warmer of my cold feet, a 3.5 yr old muppet-ass looking border collie-poodle mix named Charlie. I couldn't figure out how to put a picture between the numbered list so his pic's at the end.
how tall are you? 164 cm 🥞 my mom's side is short 😔
favorite subject in school? English or history. I loved reading books and stories and talking about them, and still do.
dream job? I don't want to work, and don't dream of labor. The closest thing I can think of working for the US govt's Digital Service, which probably sounds crazy but I think at least that way I'd get to use my skills for something useful. I’d be perfectly content to pursue hobbies the rest of my life. I fantasize about moving to a country with universal benefits and not having to worry about the numbers on my paycheck and do something I actually think is good for the world or just work on art or dance full time. I wanted to be a mail carrier for a long while, walk around the city all day and listen to books or music and deliver people’s letters and meds and stuff, but you also have to deliver shitloads of stupid ads and bills as well. I think if I ever save enough money from my dumb corporate jobs that I still might try to work for the USPS. I don't know 15 people, tag yourself if you want to do it!!! And here's my lovely boy!!

Let's keep it rolling babes, EP 5 The Lassos
--....why? Would they lower the door to the entrance to the club??? Ted's not insanely tall that's just weird
-- ah yes the appearance of Oklahoma, such a great trope in the show. Also Ted's 'constant optimism' is why we love him. Like yes it means he masks his anxiety with this...veneer of cheer almost. Honestly? Relatable. I can see now why my old boss says I remind her of Ted too much to enjoy the show lmao.
-- Ted literally sees himself as a character in a cartoon. He did the whole sunset run across the field to see his family without any care for how long it actually is. To borrow terms from the Our Flag Means Death fandom, Ted is slowly but surely muppetifying the entire cast one by one. He was the OG muppet and he's infecting them. And Yes Beard is Sam The Eagle why do you even need to ask
-- the fucking. Henry playing darts in the bar just like Ted used to when his dad was drinking ❤️‍🩹
-- y'all just know that Ted insisted against Michelles protests that they didn't need a hotel, that they could bunk with him in his fucking full-sized bed bc hes afraid theyre gonna disappear if he doesn't hold on with both hands and holy hell their whole episode is just. Hurting my heart.
-- Nate's dad was a cartographer. Nate's dad made the map to ask out his mom. ❤️.
-- it really uh. Says something that Michelle and Ted's couples therapist was the one who recommended Ted should give her some space, and then later we learn that when Michelle moves on its with that same therapist which is uh. Not great, actually. Can't blame Ted for getting super upset about that, that's an absolute shit situation actually.
-- Jamie's clearly hurting from Keeley breaking up with him, Ted's hurting from Michelle basically saying it's over, and neither of them are good at processing their emotions so predictably it only gets worse from there. Gotta say that's some star fucking writing there, how the plotlines overlap and impact their emotions and their backgrounds feed into this fundamental...misunderstanding? Butting of heads for sure.
-- Ted really must be in amazing shape. He outran half the footballers - professional runners! - a few episodes ago, he ran half the pitch to see his son without breaking a sweat, climbed an amount of stairs that a seasoned pro footballer called impressive without even getting too out of breath....he's damn fit
-- Ted monologues to himself to work out his problems and no one can convince me otherwise (see: the changes marriage metaphor halftime speech)
-- ok more of a personal note I've never heard English commentators cover football before watching this show (yes i understand this makes everything about me more confusing, esp given the mix of slang and the typing and spelling style, I'm an enigma what can I say?) But they treat it less like a job and more like a podcast than I'm used to. I enjoy it, but it feels weird and made up
-- Michelle finds it so fucking hard to hurt Ted even unintentionally, even to benefit her and her son, which is kinda a theme here. Ted's crafted this persona (which yes had become in a sense his true self but that's a whole other essay) that makes it nearly impossible to get hurt because everyone is so reluctant to do anything mean to him so when people are unfazed by this (see: Jamie) he's so caught off guard? It's almost sad how he's made himself so impervious to hurt by making himself so much more vulnerable to it and vice versa, he's just an exposed nerve that can't be cut and it's almost painful to watch

Top 5 asks you got
My tagging system for asks is abysmal (which is to say I don't have one) so I don't.... remember a lot of specific examples, but here are my favorite genres of asks I receive
5. Those chainmail asks that are like "anonymously send this to 5 people you like being around!" are a nice gesture. I never actually follow through with spreading the chain but it makes me very happy
4. When someone has to follow up on something bananas I said in the tags of a post and it's so important to them that they send a dedicated ask instead of just prev tagging
3. Sometimes anons post randomcore weird shit in my inbox and I don't often know how to respond but it's a fun brain tickler for me like when you put rat treats in a rolled up towel to simulate foraging behavior
2. When people ask me how I made something? You're interested enough in my crafting hobbies to know more about the things I make?? I love you???
1. ASKS ABOUT MY CHARACTERS. I WILL EAT THESE UP EVERY TIME. ASK ME ABOUT THEIR SLEEP HABITS OR THEIR OLIVE GARDEN ORDER OR WHAT DND CHARACTER THEY WOULD PLAY OR LITERALLY ANYTHING

Why Izzy is a compelling character?
Ok this is probably not well written and a bit rambly and I have no idea if I am right but.
I don’t think anyone actually likes him as a person or wants to minimise his actions (if you do, think about it), he’s just a good character. He is an awful, broken, repressed man. He couldve been a forgettable common villain thug, but Con is a great actor and the writers also did an amazing job.
As someone masterfully put into words, he has the vibe of the only human in a muppet movie or a character from a different genre, where different rules of suspension of belief apply.
He encapsulates toxic masculinity and while he is skilled and competent in some ways, but the way he carries himself shows his insecurity and need to serve an authority figure (that he pushes Ed into) - he tries to push Ed in a direction or ‘manage’ him while also wanting to be managed and commanded by Blackbeard.
Also, because of the genre and the decisions made by writers, he is humiliated (and symbolically, so is toxic masculinity and slutshaming and repression and needless violence) several times during the series. He never really has a moment of true, complete triumph (maybe in a way the last episode?
He “got what he wanted” but I wouldn’t call that a triumph, because what he wanted was based on a really toxic and false assumptions and in my opinion, would eventually backfire, seeing as Ed isn’t really what people and Izzy expect Blackbeard to be).
He is always portrayed with an undertone of patheticness, or at least insecurity. He bases his indentity on serving another man - I don’t think he has ever learned to function in another way. He can’t lead and isn’t feared enough to scare people into following him. Villains that are butt of the joke and pathetic usually aren’t the ones that have profound impact on the main characters and yet, Izzy is.
He is important to Ed’s arc and backstory, because he actively pushes him into toxic behaviours, pushes him into a role that he[Izzy] believes, or wants to be believe that Ed is or should be. He thinks he cares about Ed, he is arrogant to deem what he needs disregarding his actual wants. He’s dependent on Ed in an unhealthy way. He fetishizes violence and cruelty and competence. He is a masochist but not in a healthy way.
And like, the fact that Con is a great actor that people lust after helps probably.

Ok Gamers lets talk about Ace Attorney and the Muppets
Granted we will be hopping around here a bit just because while there are MANY muppets not as many have actual names/personalities and stuff so keep that in mind.
...I dont have a muppet for Phoenix actually one would THINK kermit but no. Also that would make Miles Piggy and that does not work
Gumshoe: Rowlf (admittedly this ones just because Rowlf is my voice headcanon for Gumshoe)
Ini Miney: Janice
Will Powers: Sweetums
Penny Nichols: Scooter
Maya Fey: Gonzo
Larry Butz: Fozzie
I want to say Mia as Piggy? Maybe? Maybe Ema????
Ted Tonate: Crazy Harry
Wocky Kitaki: Rizzo
Klavier Gavin: Dr Teeth
Daryan Crescend: Floyd Pepper
NO WAIT EMA IS DR BUNSEN HONEYDEW
....Apollo Beaker?
I'm having many thoughts about this also Clay DOES work for Gonzo but Maya's a more major character who also fits so sorry Clay
Also The Phantom and Furio Tigre are the Moopets (the band from The Muppets (2011) who were singing with Fozzie at the hotel)
Moe is Lew Zeland

thinking about this post and also all those posts about how Jim is a drama character trying SO hard to be in a comedy and just. ok I have thoughts
in any more serious historical genre, jim would be a “woman dresses up as a man” character, MAYBE with genderweird SUBTEXT (like obviously there can and should be trans characters in historical media there just generally aren’t And in adventure stories specifically the polly oliver is always always a woman. anyway). it’s only in Muppet Comedy World that Jim can be an out nonbinary character in a western-set historical piece of media
as long as they’re in Drama World, jim is LITERALLY not allowed to speak if they want their chosen name to be honored. their chosen name and actual identity are also what’s keeping them alive while they’re on the run. during their time in this genre they are either silent and safe or falsely unmasked as a woman and in danger
I am having BIG emotions about how oluwande is the only person jim can talk to at first, and how olu respects their chosen name even in private from the very beginning. he is their gateway to 1) respect for their gender and therefore the comfort and literal physical safety their identity allows and 2) the Comedy Muppet World that allows them to be out
the REASON jim is fighting so hard to stay in comedy muppet world is that that’s what allows them both to live under their chosen name and to speak and express themselves. also their boyfriend lives in comedy world :)

Jewish character as adoptive parent/patriarch of a found-family that ostensibly contains children from xtian backgrounds?
@lymanjosh asked:
tl;dr: how to approach Jewish character as adoptive parent/patriarch of a family that ostensibly contains children from xtian backgrounds?
(this is about fandom but i take it fairly seriously and want to do it right!)
so i’m not jewish, and i portray/hc a (relatively important/main) character A as a Jewish man. character A is at the center of a large found-family network, and he has a number of children adopted + otherwise who come from a variety of backgrounds and who are variously headcanoned by other fandom members.
a lot of the time (mostly in a roleplay context, where other people have equal control over the storyline) i’ll be faced with the assumption that the family would operate by the xtian norms dominant in a us context (particularly regarding xmas.)
id like to push back against this, but i hesitate to portray character A as asking his children to share in his own customs; i don’t think it would be in character, since he is very very reserved + rarely speaks about his birth family in the source material, but even if that were something he did i don’t have much interest in writing about it, nor do i think it would be my place.
what’s a realistic way for this kind of family to navigate the holidays? i’ve done some reading about adoption of children from oppressed groups by white/gentile families, in which it’s generally best to preserve the child’s connection with their culture, but i’m not sure if it would be different in this context? i worry about implying that A has to let xtian norms into his home to some degree in order to properly parent his children.
Hi! OK, so when I first read this ask I completely read it as Magneto and was all set to give a complex and thorough Magneto answer, and then I realized I was jumping to conclusions and asked and I was VERY wrong – this is Batman! Which is also awesome. I’m not as familiar with DC but I still enjoy this premise.
So the question becomes: how does Jewish Batman handle the holidays if Robin and whoever those other found-family kids are, are Christian. How do we give them a Christmas without having to “do” Christmas ourselves? If I were in Batman’s Bat Shoes here, I’d ask the kids what it was they wanted. In other words, what part of Christmas would they need in order to feel like they weren’t missing out. And then I’d find a way to make sure they were getting to experience it. If they wanted to go to Midnight Mass, I’d ask if (Christian?) Alfred was okay taking them, or Commissioner Gordon, or some other gentile character. If all they wanted was Christmas cookies and everyone baking as a family, I’d orchestrate that without feeling uncomfortable. If they wanted to watch a movie it would depend on how overtly Christian it was vs. something like A Muppet Christmas Carol. (Note: this is going to be a big “your mileage may vary” here because of our varying discomfort with having to participate in Christmas, so I am definitely not saying all of us are comfy with secular Christmas movies.) If they wanted a Christmas tree, remember this is Wayne Manor so there’s gonna be room for there to be a Christmas tree or even a whole Christmas room that doesn’t have to be my space or my room. If I’m Batman. (Did I really just type that sentence?
Batman is so Alone TM that this post makes me lonely for him to have other Jewish characters to do his own holidays with. But. The whole time I was in grad school I was in a situation where I was celebrating all my holidays with all gentiles, and I basically did my own thing and taught them what I was doing and why, and then had movie parties. Like for Passover we had a “deconstructed seder” where I made all the seder foods as party foods and watched Ten Commandments. That way I got to feel like I wasn’t missing out. That would be a sort of secular way that the BatFam could participate in stuff like Passover without having to actually sign up to practice a different religion.
–Shira
I only have a couple minor things to add. Firstly OP, definitely pay attention to the ‘mileage may vary’ point and, as we’ve mentioned before, listen  to many Jewish experiences of Christmas from those who engage to those who are neutral to people who have negative associations and memories about Christmas. The examples Shira gave all work, as long as they fit with Batman’s wider Jewish identity and you’re aware that whatever option you go with, many Jews will feel completely differently to your character and that’s OK too.
Similarly, Shira’s suggestions for Jewish holidays like Passover are great, but this would again depend on Batman’s denomination and personal preferences. An Orthodox seder still has plenty of room to make it your own, but with a lot more do’s and don'ts. For example, (this obviously didn’t happen in 2020 but) my dad usually heads down to the local Jewish retirement home on first night Passover and leads a kind of 'highlights of the seder’ for the residents. All the songs they will remember from childhood, but shorter; all the food, but made a bit more palatable, as Shira also said; and all condensed into about 45 minutes. Your Batman might do something similar for his kids if they show interest in Passover. However, when my dad gets home he will still make sure he does seder night, even if he is by himself if the rest of the family are with my mum. It will depend on Batman’s denomination and beliefs as to whether he sees a condensed or modified seder as having fulfilled his religious obligation.
