bio: the trevelyans, despite originating from antiva, are one of the most prominent noble families of ostwick. because of their strong ties to the chantry, the family does not hesitate to send their children to the circle when they discover the gift of magic. luca felt betrayed when he was sent away at just 12 years old and left on bad terms with his mother, who he was extremely close with. growing up with his father's strong disdain for magic and fearmongering from the templars caused luca to develop a fear of his own magical abilities. luca's mother passes away from illness before luca has a chance to reconcile, intensifying the guilt, fear, and nightmares he already suffered with. before he was even considered to do his harrowing, he begs the templars to make him tranquil so he won't be a threat to anybody, and won't have to further deal with his pain. when kirkwall's circle rebelled, ostwick quickly followed suit, and luca was forced to join the rebels for his own survival. he eventually joins the senior enchanters at the divine conclave as an unbiased voice. when the anchor is accidentally fused with luca's hand, his severed connection with the fade was restored, curing him of his tranquility. after being tranquil for a decade, luca must relearn how to live, how to feel, and how to be a leader, as he's thrust into reverence as the only hope to save thedas.

bio: growing up, lilith had always had an immense and dangerous fascination with magic, and desperately wanted to learn it for herself. but there is not much a lowly street urchin can do when your main focus is surviving the day in a dirty, corrupt city. despite the hardships, lilith will always try to steal magical trinkets and tomes to try to teach herself magic. perhaps if she was strong enough, she would be able to make enough money for her and her mother to have a real home. however, lilith was caught stealing from a powerful noble, and - in a desperate attempt to save her daughter - lilith's mother takes the blame, resulting in her being cut down before lilith's very eyes. months pass and lilith is suddenly approached by a ghostly voice, claiming to be the spirit of her deceased mother. her mother's spirit says that she returned to watch over her daughter, and will be willing to teach her magic if lilith does what she is told. lilith accepts immediately, and is ecstatic that she is getting to two things she wants the most - her mother, and magic. unbeknownst to lilith, however, this apparition is not her mother. it is instead a fiend, taking advantage of a grieving orphan with a strong desire for magic, in order to manipulate her into doing its bidding. the fiend's goal is to feed lilith so much power that she eventually goes berserk, wreaking as much havoc as possible before she inevitably loses herself to the very magic she longed for.

i think. i think it's time to look myself in the eye and acknowledge that i'm not going to finish that anastasia dai run. she was my 4th ever character (after first time with idris, then vaharel and taarshath), but lbr, i already started and completed multiple other runs after her, i just can't make myself complete siding with templar and/or playing as a templar even once. she wasn't like, evil templar, more like belinda, kinda naive and fooled by the system, but i don't think i could even make an attempt at a run with a pro-chantry full on evil templar like erin. with anastasia i'm like, 3/4 through the base game but i just can't. i also can't play as a sword and board inky or a trevelyan that's not a mage, it's just so not my thing. if i can't cheese the dragons by shooting them from afar for 30 minutes what is even the point?
which means i need to put together another character to finally romance josie the proper way, as i never actualy did it, still lying to myself that i'm going to finish with nastia.
what if. what if i romanced josie with my 4th run as idris. i mean i'm so fucking sorry, poor josie and it would 100% not go the way the in game romance does, but 1) i just think that former disgraced noble mage trevelyan x josie is really interesting, 2) i'm finishing my runs as idris the quickest of them all.
still, poor josie, she deserves so much better than dealing with idris. like fr, everyone deserves better than idris, but she especially.

Your choice of Dragon Age OC! (Or feel free to answer for multiple OCs!) Does your OC have a special talent that they like to keep a secret? Are they secretly an excellent singer or dancer, or can they crochet like a boss but would be embarrassed if anyone found out?
Hmmmm...
Haleir is secretly a fantastic seamstress (sewist? sewer? seamster? idk). He grew up needing to know how to fix and make clothes for him and his dad (and also the kids in the hold cause he loves children). He also has a very good understanding of the fashions of Orlais and totally spend his time in Halamshiral judging the poor craftsmanship of some dresses.
and Anastasia is actually a great gardener. But she keeps that to herself because she was taught from a young age that she was not to enjoy things. It becomes less secret from Skyhold onward, particularly into her relationship with Cullen.

★ Anastasia
Anastasia really loves cheesy romance novels. She has a whole collection of them that she reads when she’s not destroying Zinyaks simulation. Anastasia tries her best to keep the collection a secret, but Kenzie, Johnny, and Shaundi all find out about it when they find one of them laying around on the ship. The trio all make jokes and tease her about it, annoying Anastasia to death.
★ Magnolia Hawke
Magnolia’s greatest fear is losing those she cares about. Throughout her time in Kirkwall she did whatever she could to protect her family and friends. Magnolia didn’t want Carver to join the Grey Wardens, but since it was the only way her brother could survive, she let him join anyway. Magnolia was devastated when her mother was murdered, but she promised to her that she wouldn’t let anyone else close to her die. When fighting the fearlings in the fade, she is forced to kill her family, friends, and beloved. Magnolia jokes after each fight, “ah, well, it’s only fitting,” when deep down, it hurts her more than anything.
★ Roxanne Trevelyan
Roxanne’s greatest fear is becoming possessed. While she was at the Ostwick Circle, she watched one of her friends get possessed and become an abomination. Ever since then, she has been afraid to dream and interact with spirits in the fade. Her fear became worse when the Circle fell and she saw so many mages give in to demonic possession. When she joins the inquisition, she asks Cassandra and Cullen to do her one favor: if she ever shows signs of possession, kill her without a second thought.
★ Alina Amell
Alina’s greatest fear is death. When she did her harrowing, when she joined the wardens, every fight she gets into, she’s afraid she isn’t going to make it. Her fear of death increased when her and Zevran became an item. Alina began the search for a cure for the calling simply because she didn’t want to die sooner than she needed to.
★ Lynette Rose
Lynette’s biggest fear was losing Shaun. When she found him in the institute she was relieved to find him alive. She spent the majority of her time chatting with her son and getting to know him better. Lynette treasure d the time she spent with him. After he died, Lynette isolated herself in the institute and never contacted anyone in the Commonwealth. People above ground wonder if Lynette is still alive or if she died of grief after her greatest fear came true.

Ship-a-thon meme
I was tagged by the amazing @ladynorbert a while ago and, due to my terrible time management skills, am showing up a day late and a dollar short as usual. But I am very grateful for the tag! <3 I won’t tag anyone in return, since I figure most people did this already, but if you haven’t and would like to, consider this your chance!Answers below the cut due to length.
First ship you ever read fic for: I believe it was Anthony/Johanna from the film version of Sweeney Todd, but I could be wrong about that.
First ship you ever wrote fic for: I wrote fanfic before I even really knew what fanfic was, but the first fanfic I wrote knowingly was for the Johnlock ship - John Watson/Sherlock Holmes in Sherlock. Those early fics are truly dreadful by my standards today, but it helped get me on the path to fanfiction and Tumblr, so I can't complain.
Ship you write the most now: Oh my gosh, Cullevelyan, without a doubt - that is, Cullen Rutherford/Female Trevelyan OCs from the game Dragon Age: Inquisition. Cullen is my darling, so I love writing him and I most often get to write him opposite the brilliant @ladynorbert and her OC Evangeline Trevelyan. But I also love shipping him with my Trevelyan Inquisitor Rowan and with ladynorbert's Inquisitor, Victoria, who appears in the wonderful "All This Sh*t Is Twice As Weird". In pretty much all incarnations, I adore Cullevelyan.
Ship you read the most now: I've been doing so much writing and editing and posting of my own fic that I haven't had too much of a chance to actually read a lot. But a few months ago I did binge read a whole bunch of stuff for Morse/Joan from the tv series Endeavour. God, I love those two (plus they remind me of Cullen/Evvy, so it's like double shipping).
Newest ship: Hmm. Probably the aforementioned Morse/Joan.
Rare ship you want to read more of: Ooh, an oldie but a goodie that I quite nearly forgot about - Switzerland/Belarus from Hetalia. Most of the fanfics about them are crackfics or fics people wrote as part of contests that spat the pairing out at random, but I want more of them as actual pairing.
Your taboo ship: I am the most vanilla person you could ever meet, so I don't really think I have too terribly many taboo anythings in my life, LOL.
"They never met in canon" ship: Switzerland/Belarus definitely fit that. Another one of my favs is Rosalie Rutherford/Cremisius Aclassi from Dragon Age. Rosalie doesn't appear in canon at all (only in mention), but when ladynorbert and I wrote our longfic "The Lady and the Lion," we thought it would be an adorable pairing and boy, were we right. A lot of the ships in that story fall into that category, come to think of it, like Josephine Montilyet/Branson Rutherford. That was fabulous too.
Your unexpected ship: The ones I just mentioned above, plus Nygmobblepot (Ed Nygma/Oswald Cobblepot) from the show Gotham. I hate superheroes, so the fact that I willingly watch Gotham is still wild to me, but add into that shipping Riddler and Penguin? Yeah, didn’t expect any of it.
The ship you always forget to love: I tend to write and ship as the wind blows, so a lot of my ships do get lost in the shuffle. Some that I adore and have ideas for but haven't had a chance to write include Mulder/Scully from The X-Files, Howl/Sophie from Howl's Moving Castle, and Haymitch/Effie from The Hunger Games. Also, until I started doing this meme, I forgot a bit about the spectacular Will/Anastasia from Once Upon a Time in Wonderland. They were fabulous.
Ship your OC with a canon character: Probably the best example I have of this is my OC (and admitted author insert) Rory Norbertson from the “Skyhold Academy Yearbook” series whom I accidentally started shipping with Cremisius Aclassi. And I have loved every single second of it.
A ship you're embarrassed to ship: Nygmobblepot. Just to be clear, I have made some awesome friends through this ship, so it’s not that I’m embarrassed about that. I’m just a little embarrassed about how obsessed I was for those few months, LOL.
Your most romantic ship: Oh, Cullevelyan. Without a doubt. The romance practically writes itself.
Your sexiest ship: Cullevelyan again. I mean, ladynorbert and I are the queens of the “fade to black” so nothing is ever shown, but the implication is there. And, in some cases, it’s there frequently. Have you read “The Lady and the Lion”? Yeah.
Your most tragic ship: You may notice that my blog description reads "Fangirl, Aspiring Author, Shipper of Tragic Ships". I have QUITE a few ships that are extremely tragic (*sighs*) so it's hard to pick just one. Pretty much any of my ships in Downton Abbey or Merlin come to mind. (*sighs again*) (*sighs forever*)

Sort of new-ish OC!
This is Anastasia, aka Kitten. She’s been around for a while in my head and occasionally introduced to other people, but now she’s in game, too! She exists for exactly three reasons, and that is 1) to look cute, 2) to get into trouble, and 3) to be a viewpoint character for all the kinky smut that isn’t Kelandris’s jam. She was originally a self-insert, but she’s since blossomed into her own fully-fledged character.
She’s a Spunky Rogue™ with a fondness for knives (and also rope, which makes for a very fitting few screenshots early on). She’s definitively not a Trevelyan, or indeed a noble of any kind, but rather a street urchin, a pickpocket, and an occasional, *ahem,* courtesan. The universe in which she’s at the Conclave and becomes Herald is a very unlikely one – she was just there to look around and steal trinkets! – and probably not a very successful one, but she’s cannier and smarter than she lets on, so it’s not a complete disaster.
