Morgana confronts Arthur's army, saying they have no hope of defeating her.
"I am a high priestess of the old religion!" She snarls, casting a spell that sends a wave of destruction at the knights. It's stopped in its tracks against a shimmering wall of energy. Merlin steps forward, eyes glowing gold, hands raised.
"And I am your god."

Do you guys ever imagine what the night after Arthur met Merlin was like for Arthur?
Like, I imagine him going through the normal motions of his night, but constantly thinking about this random guy that dared to insult the prince. And yeah, now that guys in the stocks because he should be… right?
But ever since that encounter Arthur can’t stop thinking about it and it’s not because he hated it. He feels different. It felt different being around him. Why? Why does he feel a small ember of excitement at the idea of seeing him again?
He’s frustrated by all of this. What happened shouldn’t be affecting him this much. It doesn’t matter. And yet it feels like he just met someone he didn’t know he was waiting for.
“There’s something about you, Merlin… I can’t quite put my finger on it”

"No, he'd be a gas station attendant!"

I wonder what Merlin would’ve done if he’d ever been in a situation where Uther threatened Arthur with a hand on the throat like he’d done to Morgana. Throughout the show Arthur was shown to be stronger physically than Uther but what if there was a situation where Uther was being his abusive self and actually hurt Arthur... I think Merlin would’ve made Uther spontaneously combust

I was rewatching sword in the stone pt 1 for shits and giggles (cause I remembered simpleton Arthur and thought the ep would be hilarious. spoiler alert: I WAS WRONG 😭)
and my God, my heart hurts at the look on Arthur's face when they're taking him brainwashed and away from Camelot.
No will, no memories, no sense of "himself" and still he yearns for Camelot 😭 at his core he is king. you can take everything away from him but his love for his kingdom and people is etched in his blood and bone
