Presenting another Boifang au

Single parent au

Featuring - widowed Boboiboy with his daughter Amaya and Fang with his adopted son Bihir. Where they basically raise these two together due to different reasons until they slowly fall in love and what not.

Allow me to explain the story:

(It's a long post so...)

it's pretty same as this universe except as the friends keep growing up, the less time they spend together and thus become more departed. This happens due to the reason that boboiboy slowly grows more popular and powerful as he slowly keeps upgrading his powers. This makes him more seeked out during missions and more known in the galaxy. And the fact that he is the son of the famous hero Mechamato makes him even more famous in TAPOPS. Yaya, Ying and gopal don't mind this at all but because of this sometimes they also get in trouble which makes their parents worry about them. Not to mention, Yaya and Ying both have ambitions and careers they want to pursue. Gopal is also slowly losing his interest in these superhero business and actually wants to be a chef. So when they finish high school, they resign from TAPOPs. This doesn't mean they leave BBB completely they still keep contact with and meet to him when he returns to earth. Then comes fang... At first fang was obviously jealous of the attention and popularity that BBB was getting but as time passes by he matures up and grows out of that phase. Also after boboiboy finally meets his father( yes they meet and their meeting is not so pleasant but they mend their relationship), fang and kaizo are also able to grow past their rocky relationship and be good siblings again. ( Maybe I'll say how this happens in another post) This is also the time when fang realises that his feelings for BBB may not be so platonic afterall.( That's gay) But he doesn't confess his feelings and hides them because his stay in earth has proven that not many people support this type of relationships especially in BBB's religion. Not to mention the chances of boboiboy actually liking him back also seems pretty less. So he does what he thinks is best, distances himself from them and decides to go with kaizo during missions. They keep talking to each other but as time passes the contact becomes less and less. Kaizo keeps moving from place to place, doing different types of missions that go from disguise to infiltration missions, so this also keeps fang from TAPOPs and when kaizo shifts from TAPOPs to TEMPURA ( to move in with Ramen) fang also leaves TAPOPs and thus in a way lose contact with him completely. He does keep hearing some stories and rumours about the elemental Hero from here and there during his missions though. After many years (fang is now 24 and ramenzo is an established relationship) fang gathers up the courage to go and his see his earth friends. Besides he is pretty sure his feelings about a certain person must have gone by now. However, when he reaches there, a lot of stuff have changed and... The great elemental Hero, Boboiboy is now married... T.B.C

1. Ali and Viktor is a great ship, homies to lovers, yes gimme, gimme the homies being gay and soft and in love

2. Ah, RuLi. I used to absolutely ship this, but now I don't, I see them more as rivals or in a more platonic light. (and in my REBEL AU, they developed into a more brotherly relationship somehow, and this became my most recent reason why I strongly don't ship it anymore.)

3. BoiFang, yes, no questions asked, rivals to lovers, we love them in this house.

5. RamenZo. Idk anything about ramen, but from the small interactions they have, I like to think that they're exes and Kaizo haven't moved on, Ramen seems casual interacting and Kaizo looks bitter

6. SaiBoi, I see the appeal ig. Though I would see Boi sassing and giving shade to Sai after the EASY-A exam before actually dating.

7. Kiki Ta x Ayu Yu. Green, evil women who can ride ships being shipped, idk how this came to be but I like seeing Adu Du as their wingman. Just some dude who used to have a crush on them now dealing with disastrously evil lesbians.

8. FaYi, interesting ship but I see Fang as exclusively mlm so it wouldn't really work out for me.

9. Dos x Cinco, I assume. Idk I don't see Dos in any relationship and I see Cinco as a woman who would emotionally manipulate people regardless of what side they're on, ally or enemy, friends, family or partner.

10. Zass x Jet? That's new, I've never heard of such ship, but this intrigues me. This is probably one of the more functional pair to me, romantically. Tell me more about this ship. The confident and chill vibes this couple radiates is what I strive for.

but yeah, the one specific character who decides not to wear sleeves and shows off his biceps for everyone to see?? yknow, BI-ceps??? is the pun bad enough yet? (okay to be fair i know nothing about muscles so for all i know those are triceps. but i have to do this for the pun okay, i have to.) he is the only teenage character that does this, from what i recall.

also i am by no means an expert in bi and pan culture but isn’t stuff like “wearing sleeveless leather jackets” and “wearing belts” and “the colour purple in general” a bi thing? like, his entire Scheme is purple. i guess this also makes him ace, but maybe that’s me Projecting so for now i’ll shut up about it. just for now though

6. yin-yang

i know what i said about this not being a boifang post. i also fucking lied because how am i supposed to talk about fang being bi/pan without mentioning the fact that he’s basically the Love Interest™ to boboiboy in every possible way EXCEPT for actual canon romance? and the show doesn’t have any official canon romo anyway so that ain’t gonna stop me. i’ll try and be light, i swear.

so in the og show bbb walks past this rando emo weirdo in the train and there’s some unexplained spark of electricity. the emo weirdo is tsundere af towards him. they have an enemies-to-friends thing going on. the entire s3 finale is about their friendship and combining their powers. and then there’s galaxy, in which fang is consistently set apart from the others. they share so many Held Gazes and Tender Moments that even my brother noticed and he never frickin notices anything.

and there’s this.

yeah look... putting yin-yang symbolism between two characters is one thing. having one be Light, one be Shadow, yeah, one being the Sun, one being the Moon, whatever. having them combine these two things to take down the villain, okay, cool. but if you do that on top of all the possible ship tease then there is no way in hell that i am going to see that and think “ah yes, these two are definitely Hetero”. that being said, it makes a phenomenal brotp too okay i like close friendships so much. buT IN THIS CASE I THINK IT’S GAY

i think one of the reasons boifang works so well as a ship is that fang is such a major character in that he’s one of the few characters who got a dedicated development arc and that arc revolved completely if not exclusively around boboiboy

like he’s too important of a character to ignore especially after all the work they invested in him - so he’s part of the main recurring cast - but he’s unique in that his entire character was basically crafted to center around bbb

take adu du for example; his motives never directly involved bbb but rather bbb filling those roles: adu du needs koko, bbb stops him. adu du wants ochobot, bbb has ochobot. adu du loses probe, bbb helps him get probe back. you could replace boi with anyone else who happened to be in that situation and it would be the same for adu du’s character arcs.

fang is completely different; his whole arc in s3 was about boboiboy. yes, because boboiboy happens to be the one whos more popular than him, yes because boboiboy is the one who he has to steal the watches from, but at the end of the day the obsession he develops is with boboiboy

especially rewatching s3 i notice fang really chasing after bbb because he wants - even if he says the opposite - to be friends with boi. even tho he’s in a class full of people who clearly thinks he’s hot stuff, he’s constantly going after bbb’s friends and seeking bbb’s validation.

so you end up with a character who is the main character and a character who is a major supporting character who is obsessed with him and youre telling me not to notice a connection? not to mention the actual canon focus on the RELATIONSHIP between those two characters that happened in the s3 finale like they really didn’t have to do that and show us just How much bbb cares about fang and how Far hes willing to go for him and vice versa how much fang values bbb bUT THEY DID? and its consistent too like boi still seeks fang out to comfort him in later episodes so like point in case

@apiice​ for context here was the original post but as promised i will elaborate now that i have slept and recovered some braincells and immediately sold them to boifang in exchange for serotonin (dopamine?)

so like as a multishipper it doesn’t take that much for me to ship something like even jsut the Concept of a pairing without any onscreen interaction is enough for me to go ‘omg they could have something’ but that’s all it is. the whole ship exists as an assumed or headcanonned entity in my head and while i have gotten super invested in entire ships solely based on what they ‘could have been’ or ‘would be if they were together’, there’s not necessarily anything in the canon material to indicate that.

if we go to the more popular ships, usually there’s at least some kind of interaction onscreen or some moments of ship fuel or crumbs which for the purpose of this rant i will call Fanservice. fanservice-wise we actually get a heckton of goboi and gofang and ill go so far as to say that yayi in its entirety exists as these ‘fanservice’ moments until m0nsta dares to develop yaya and ying further as characters. of course ramenzo is 100% fanservice based because neither ramen nor kaizo nor anyone whos known them for that matter has ever actually addressed anything to suggest they were Actually a thing.

now is where the linked essay comes in because boifang isn’t just superficially the two most popular separate male characters in the show (i dont know why i included male i dont think the fandom cares much about the girls at all) being fujoshi slammed together (i mean ok yeah there are fujoshis but this essay is kind of the opposite of that perspective) for the sake of gay. its two characters who have CANONICALLY undergone character development in relation to each other in a significant arc ONSCREEN. yes bbb explored his emotions and yes fang stood up to his brother but fang actually went from isolating himself from people to actively trying to be bbb’s friend and bbb went from gatekeeping him from his friend group to literally sobbing when fang betrayed him.

whether monsta wants to acknowledge it or not after all this time, they very much did put boi and fang in a high stakes situation where they had a choice between being together or apart and they very much confirmed that they would go thru torture for each other like these two would die for each other whats not clicking 

so you have this very deep connection that they both have come to share and like you cant just write that development by accident it is Consistent through s3 and while it does get generally forgotten by galaxy (which is inherently a soft reboot) it’s definitely still there when we get scenes like ‘pergi je boboiboy’ (god my heart) so like someone on the monsta writing team really went and did that.

but at the same time someone on the monsta writing team ALSO decided that we are gonna get scenes like tHIS
