i'll be homnest with you, after the 4th person who got the shit beat out of them by this rogue student (SV) i think it would have been better to just seal off the exit to the tunnel and let him starve rather than continuing to send in every fucking teacher available to also have the shit beat out of them. and probably one at a time was not the best idea

There was a slight miscommunication.
Danny says "Get souped!" or variations of it when he soups a rogue.
In a different dimension, the few recordings that the Justice League was able to get their hands on of the High King of the Infinite Realms didn't really have a lot of sound coming through, just static.
They need to summon him to wrangle a threat from his home dimension, but they can't hear what he wants.
But Batman can read lips.
Clearly, the best offering to summon the Ghost King is soup.
"I'll have Agent A make soup," he says, completely neutrally.
"I think we'll need the best soup, though. How about I go get my Ma to make some?" Says Superman, side eyeing Batman.
"I believe my mother knows of a fantastic recipe only found in Themyscira," says Wonder Woman, checking her nails.
"My dad left me a recipe for the best fish stew I've ever had," says Aquaman, already halfway out the door to get groceries.
"My pop makes a real good chicken noodle; you can't beat the classics," says Static, already texting his father.
"I have managed to make the most accurate approximation that I can to a very widely enjoyed Martian stew," says Martian Manhunter, staring Superman down.
All of the Heroes assembled glare at each other.
"...How about we let the King decide?" Asks Constantine, shrinking in on himself when the attention gets turned on him.
The High King get's summoned to a row of Superheroes glaring at him, with different soups laid before him.
They're all encouraging him to eat the best one, but he knows a trap when he sees it. He's a Midwesterner, and they fight their social battles with recipes.
Daniel Fenton forces himself to eat it all.
When asked which was the best?
"Oh, they were all so good I just can't bring myself to choose one over the other."

one of my favourite memories ever is going swimming in my undies in the dead of winter beneath a waterfall in the middle of a forest (I couldn't feel my legs at ALL) and having a small longfin eel tentatively swim up to me. upon me sticking my hand out for her to explore, she rubbed her head up against my hand and let me pet her like some kind of slippery long cat. wet wriggly beast I miss you so much.. we were best friends for one fleeting moment... I hope you find a cave so deep and comfortable that all the other eels are seething with envy

Hi uhh I really love your Damian and Danny siblings short. I wonder if uhh will you add a more connected story.
Also how did the mirage happen and is it only Bruce and Damian who saw it?
thank you! And honestly I might add a more connected story (i posted a miscellaneous post about the danny from that post because I was still thinking about him). The more I think about it though, yeah probably? I'd like to explore that reunion between Danny and Damian at some point. Plus Danny's experience in Amity Park and his growth from there.
The post was meant to be more of a prompt for other people to take inspiration from and add their own ideas onto, so the mirage was something I kept purposely vague so that people could come up with their own theories about it. But for my take on it? Magic user in Gotham that they got in a fight with. It was a physically visual mirage so anyone who was in the room could've seen it, and it was capable of being picked up on the cameras in their mask/cowls (which i hear is a thing sometimes) so it can be replayed back in the cave.

I don’t know how public-facing this info is, but: the inside-the-industry discourse right now is that Sony wants to move away from games-as-a-service, (imo correctly) perceiving that it’s a totally unsustainable model both on the front end (as players across the board are burnt out on pandemic-era design that incentivized constant play via FOMO) and the back end (since the expectations for the rate of release of such content is completely insane, especially for how little they charge/how out of control the wage:investor profits ratio is right now in the economy generally, and drives off good talent). So, like, good for the long term health of the game, maybe? But what did Sony cite as a major reason for acquiring Bungie in the first place?
Well… it was that they wanted to pivot TO games as a service.
Nobody at Bungie who can remotely be called “working on the game” likes delivering it as a service (source: trust me). And now the people who were most acutely aware what a terrible model it is are the ones out of a job. This whole situation is so, so fucked up.
Yeah, heard something about that too, specifically the stuff about Sony wanting to move away from games-as-a-service. And yeah, agreed, overall I would love for this trend to be phased out eventually, though I'm not sure how realistic that is given that the genre of MMOs has been going on for so long.
But that aside, yeah. It's a fucked up situation. I remember when Sony got Bungie and emphasised how they want to fund Destiny as a live service game and now what... Over night they changed their mind? And this wouldn't be such an issue, except in this case they decided to move in this direction by having so many employees laid off. Like, this could not have happened in a worse time, just as they're set on a schedule and are preparing an expansion and they need those people to deal with the workload. Horrible situation for everyone that was fired and horrible situation for everyone that's staying.
It feels such a tone-deaf decision made by people who sit in offices and have never interacted with a game dev or a video game. I even thought that the way they didn't announce any expansions post-TFS and with how they teased episodes, that those two things were a beginning process of moving away from a live service or at least moving away from the current model that expects so much stuff to be released in such short dev cycles.
But like, this shit can't happen over night. And it most certainly can't happen when you gut the studio and take away talented people who have been working on the game for years and who even agree that live service models are awful. And worst of all, not the first nor the last wave of lay offs recently.
