“No, maybe not this one… Oh!” You gasp as you read point twenty-four on the piece of paper in your hands, your slightly messy handwriting shining through. “Go to an arcade dressed as one of the Powerpuff Girls.”

You look at Jisung with an enthusiastic grin, lightly bouncing on the cotton couch of your friend’s living room. Your eyes meet his, dead silent, his elbow pushing into one of the dark grey pillows he is propped on.

“Does this bucket list include anything… not embarrassing to do in public?”

Your eyebrows raise at Jisung’s sceptical voice. For a split second, you wonder what’s embarrassing about looking good and having fun, but your mind quickly dismisses the dilemma and you try to remember having any mild ideas during the creation of the bucket list. The lightbulb next to your head doesn’t turn on though. Instead, you realize the said list is the result of the girls’ night you had with your friends last month with too much alcohol involved in the process.

“You have some high expectations…” You mumble more to yourself than him, reading through each sentence carefully, but soon enough give up when you see a little distorted ‘swim with the sharks’ under point five.

You side-eye Jisung. Embarrassing? No, but definitely dangerous and definitely not something he would be down for.

“You know, we can just grab some popcorn and watch One Piece.” Resigned, you put the list right next to Jisung’s half-empty energy drink bottle on the glass coffee table to scratch a specific spot on the back of your head, although nothing’s itchy.

Jisung stares at the bucket list for a moment, bringing his hand to play with his earlobe as he gets lost in his thoughts. After almost two years of knowing him, you already know it’s his unconscious sign that he’s considering the options, so you give him the space and look around his living room to occupy his restless self.

Even though his place is small (as expected with the ridiculously high prices of apartments in Seoul, despite the location being outside the city center), the living room has always felt spacious to you. You assume it’s the work of his friend Renjun, as they live together. You’d noticed his artistic soul and the ‘I’ll do it’ nature right away when you first met him. The green plants in the corner and the delicate decorations reflect Renjun’s personality much more than Jisung’s—the latter is all about unevenly taped posters on the walls and a mix of clothes, shoes, and items scattered all over his room’s floor.

“Give me that list,” Jisung suddenly says, stretching his limb out to take the paper from the coffee table. You flinch forward, your first instinct to stop him. You are comfortable with him, but some of the points are… private, to say the least. He raises a brow at you, the bucket list almost in his hand, waiting for your further reaction. Yes, the list is a bit much, but you shouldn’t be ashamed of your dreams, you think to yourself. You wave your hand at him dismissively and rest your head back on the couch.

Jisung takes the list and repositions himself on the couch. It takes a while, as his legs look uncomfortably long to be squished into a cross-legged position, but you don’t say anything, just watch him read the list after finally getting cozy. His reaction changes from a questioning frown to an agonizing sigh to a blank blink at least five times, and the silence has the blood rushing to your cheeks. You take a minute (long? Short? You don’t know, but definitely painful) to regret bringing the list to him and distract yourself again. The window curtains have never looked better.

Jisung points at the paper, looking at your blushed face, amused. “Kiss all of my friends and rate the experiences from best to worst.”

Yeah, the curtains are so interesting today.

“I don’t remember writing this,” you justify yourself, tapping your knee with your fingers. It is true—after all, it was the alcohol in you making the list. Then again, ‘drunk words, sober thoughts’, they say.

Jisung watches your embarrassed self as a smirk slowly grows on his lips. He chuckles to himself, shaking his head. “You’re a freak.”

Something about the way he says it boosts your confidence and you forget how hot your face feels. Your courage to make eye contact is back, and mirroring his smirk, you catch a new glint in his eyes you have never seen before. You eye him up and down and realize how good he looks in a plain t-shirt and baggy pants. Maybe it’s the simplicity, or the clothes’ shape just flatters his body. Either way, his looks do him justice without much effort. The mischievous sparkle in his eyes when he looks at you also suits him, by the way.

“Let’s do it.”

“Do what?” You tease, although you don’t have to ask to know what he means.

“Kiss,” he gets up from the couch to stand in front of you, resting his hands on the back of the couch as he hovers over your body. “Let’s kiss.”

Jisung’s stare is so intense it sends shivers down your spine, sending you deeper into the couch. He even looks intimidating like that, when he is only centimeters away from your face. His new confidence excites you, your heart pumping the blood into your veins faster. It probably beats louder too, but you don’t hear it. All of your attention is on Jisung and his hot breath brushing against your skin.

You wrap your hands around his neck, fingers immediately feeling the cold metal on his nape. You look at the silver chain hanging on his neck before bringing your eyes almost back to his, stopping a little lower—at his lips.

You’ve always been a risk-taker. Nothing can ever go wrong in your mind and the aftermath is never your worry. When you saw a ‘Caution! Wet floor’ sign in a shopping mall as a kid, you would purposefully speed up your walk, laughing to the bits if you fell. Skipping class in high school wasn’t scary despite the consequences you had to face, at least you had fun. Moving out of your parents’ house a little too early—it was tough, but you handled it. Kissing your friend?

“Let’s see which place you’ll get,” is what you whisper before smashing your lips into his.

It’s messy at first, the flames in you not knowing if you want to ease each other’s fire or add even more fuel to it. It’s unexpected, the way your lips fit with his just right, but you love it. Your fingers tighten on Jisung’s nape, the other hand moving into his hair as you pull him closer, prompting him into your body. His hand moves to your neck, thumb lifting your chin to deepen the kiss.

He tastes like the cherry chapstick you bought for him after you noticed his once-dry lips that are now tasting your sweet lipgloss. Like a siren call, it’s something you cannot resist no matter how hard you try. Not that you want to, anyway. The adrenaline only grows in you with each touch, making you bolder, leaving you wanting more. But Jisung knows better than to turn into a starving animal. He pulls away, keeping your face at a small enough distance for you to not hunt your prey down.

“So,” he breathes out, thumb brushing over your lip, “what’s the ranking?”

You take a moment to admire the pink blush and satisfied smile on his face, wrapping your finger around his necklace to bring him closer again, foreheads clashing lightly.

“Not sure yet…” You smile, your leg pushing his hip to flip him around, seat him on the couch, and straddle him, “might have to check again.”

“Yeah, let’s make sure,” he loops his arms around your waist, pulling you into a kiss once more.

The best.

Masterfully done music, esp reinvented themes for change

incredible animations, gives each character so much personality

great story telling - best visual novel for length, story, interest, etc

chronicles has its own achievements - encourages replayability

great pacing and saving - east to pick up and set down

amazing foreshadowing - whole series planned together

incredible balance of comedy and tragedy

takes preexisting stories and tropes and masterfully retells them

Summary:

I'm afraid I won't have enough room to describe how much I love this game. I don't even know where to start :'). This game is a masterpiece of masterpieces. Easily comparable to FMAB in terms of incredible storytelling, foreshadowing, mystery, tragedy, comedy, score, design, you name it. I have never genuinely been so shocked by the surprises in this game, but they were all so well made and fit in the story seamlessly. The tragedy and comedy, the two most important aspects of a story to me, were not only very well balanced, but were used as expert emotional devices throughout the game. The character design is incredible. Small details such as Ryuu's arm brace or Enoch's mechanisms or Iris's dolls add such character and personality even if some of these details aren't plot relevant. Each character has a unique body type, face shape, facial features, etc that it is easy to identify each character without their hair or clothes. The deigns are also so brilliant that it even taught me how to not only draw older people and children, but to be able to distinguish between teenagers and 20-30 year olds in my art (instead of all looking the same age). The animations are beautiful and so ridiculous. I always looked forward to interacting with Herlock and the witnesses. These games also have one of my favorite scores, especially the way they are able to turn established themes on their heads. The music does an amazing job at establishing setting, character, tension, emotion, you name it. Now for the story telling. Holy fucking shit. Holy shit. You don't even realize how important every small is until it hits you in the face. This is a story that will rival my 1st place spot of FMAB [in terms of all media]. It is so beautifully designed and thought over that I can only say the writers at Capcom are true geniuses to make this story. It doesn't hold back any punches but also comforts you. It toys with your emotions and is smth almost evil, but it also gives you hope and confidence and lifts you up so that you can scream to the world. The key to this is Ryuu. He's no avatar like Link but you and him share a strong bond through shared experience. It was an ingenious move to have the first story be Ryuu accused of murder, you learn the hardest way possible how to become a defense attorney of true integrity. His relations to others is this game is incredible too. The betrayal, the longing, the tenderness. Him and Susato have an incredible "sibling" bond to where I truly felt anxious without her. Not to mention Kazuma. A human through and through. Once thought to be the righteous angel, he had later fallen from heaven just to learn the truth of who he and his father really are. Even as the game has ended, I still sit and contemplate on these characters. Although it was the right decision for Kazuma to stay, I am still in pain from their separation. I really wish I could say more but it's also hard to put into words all my feelings with so little space. If I could forget this game just to experience it again, I would. An outstanding work of art. I highly recommend. My new favorite game.

I never considered that Aradia could be feeling sincere gratitude towards Equius - that's a good point, and might partially explain her flushed feelings for him. Similarly, I never thought about how difficult and impractical a relationship would be for Equius, given he has this kind of strength paired with this kind of dexterity.

Anyway, I half-agree with your thesis. I can imagine a hypothetical kismesissitude between an older, more mature Equius and Aradia, and I think that relationship could potentially be healthy, for the reasons you describe.

But the one we're getting is doomed from the start - Equius's mind-control shenanigans have pretty much torpedoed the whole thing. I don't think he can have a healthy relationship until he figures out why that was wrong.

I'll give you a freebie right now - most of the Jojo villains would fit right in with the Felt!

Yeah, it's not like romantic rivalry is a new idea. Really, the more I think about it, the more I think Hussie's riffing on real relationship tropes with all the quadrants.

Hell, I could probably list some fictional characters that work pretty well as Moirails - and I'm not just talking about The Locked Tomb!

We have two opposing views here, and they both make good arguments. Aristocrats do tend to be egotistical by nature - but Alternia would expect him to act that way, even if it wasn't his natural tendency.

I personally don't think Eridan ever intended to exterminate the land-dwellers, but I'm not sure he ever realized that himself.

The Newtonverse is a corruption of Homestuck, but Homestuck is already a parody of a million other things. It's one layer too deep, and feels 'wrong' as a result.

Unless Cool and New Webcomic is a similar style of parody, in which case, who knows? Maybe the Newtonverse is simply real, and trying to break into our reality.

Eridan's beliefs don't really make sense - but it makes sense that they don't. It's bigotry, after all.

He knows trolls like Kanaya, and can clearly see that there's nothing inferior about her - but he can't let go of what he's been taught, so he just doesn't address it, and continues on as normal.

This comic is damn long, so it's a fun reference to make.

ayy thank you so much!! <3 here I go..! I couldn't come up with a proper name for him since he's also Daud.. so I call him "Bosskur Daud", "Demon Daud", or just Bosskur for short. Bosskur (or Bossku) actually means "my boss" for Malay and It can also be used for calling someone who is a good friend. I use this silly name for him because it used to be nickname we call our former prime minister of Malaysia some years back, it's funny I know. But ANYWAYS! Yes, he's kind of a bossy character. He's actually a demon version of Daud, so I guess we can call him the alternative version of Daud. there's other versions of him (P:Redux, P:Brain Damaged, P:3) but P:3 is his main design, which is this! :-

This is actually his disguise as a human whenever he visits the Earth. There are few little details of the demon features on him from the image above. (his ears, little fangs, sharp fingernails even tho they're not shown in this because it's cropped lol) While THIS is his actual demon form. (Postal Redux version of him), he's taller than his human form. So basically he's the one that caused the mass murder incident by taking control of Daud. (possession)

As I mentioned already, he's inspired by Shark, BUT ALSO by Jai, another character from KL Gangster movie franchise! (Jai from KL Gangster part 1 & 2)

Yes, his pins/nametag has meanings too! (Black hibiscus flower, "LAWAN" black flag pin, Bosskur nametag)

Black hibiscus flower - "no peace" LAWAN black flag pin - "FIGHT", or "WE FIGHT BACK!". Black flag was used to protest on Malaysia's government failure (PN) that happened back in 2021. Bosskur's nametag - "Bosskur" spelled with Arabic letters, or we just call it Jawi/Javanese.

Ayy thank you! I have a wide cast of OCs I've been neglecting to post about for a while, so I'm going to answer these repeatedly for a lot of characters lol.

How do they put themselves to bed at night (reading, singing, thinking?)

JJ: Just enveloping himself in layer upon layer of blankets until the pressure relaxes him to the point he falls asleep

Trin: If she's particularly struggling to sleep, she'll sometimes sing to herself in her head, or start mentally reciting formulas or similar. Anything to distract her mind from 'aaaa it's 4am why am I awake-'

Charlie: After she finally accepts that it's an insomnia night, will start reading whatever she has to hand. A lot of the time she ends up getting too invested in what she's reading to even think about sleep or her lack thereof

Brutus or Tibbs: Lies down on any suitable surface, closes eyes, will fall asleep instantly and sleep like a log for hours

How do they cope with confusion (seek clarification, pretend they understand, etc)?

Trin: Would absolutely nod along and pretend to understand perfectly, then once all information has been passed on to her, if possible she'd subtly ask a witness whether she's the only one who didn't understand a word of what was just said

Lara: Would let the speaker finish a detailed, lengthy explanation, then just blink and go 'HUH?'

Vari: Would ask for clarification, indirectly by repeating what he believes has been asked of him if possible

What is their preferred mode of transportation?

Tibbs: Corvega babey. He did once briefly have a motorbike which he absolutely adored, but his level of physical coordination and tendency to lose his balance/trip over air/otherwise get injured is not suited to that lol

Sid: Strongly prefers getting around on his own two legs. Most of my Fallout OCs are used to hoofing it, but I think Sid is the only one who'd reject the offer of a ride on principle

Have they always had the same physical appearance, or have you had to edit how they look?

Violet and Trin: Both of these characters have acquired distinctive scars and changed their typical hairstyles as their storylines have played out

Red: An anti-answer for this one! I did once consider switching up her appearance and personality somewhat to distinguish her a bit from the FO3 NPC Red (context: I created OC Red before I'd ever encountered NPC Red, and their appearances and occupations ended up being almost identical). Ultimately decided that nah, great minds think alike

Sigrid: When I added some shiny new prequel backstory to her, I had to design how she looked as a young adult, which was pretty fun and ended up contrasting a lot with her older self

When I listen to rap music the first thing I do is dissect the instrumental mentally and imagine how it looks separately and how it would be laid out on a Digital Audio workstation.

3. What is the best compliment you have ever received?

The best compliment I ever received was when someone complimented my skin, I think that was a first for me and it actually stuck with me.

4. If your life was a movie what genre would it be (comedy, horror, drama, etc.) and what actor would play you?

Honestly I would say the genre it would be is an action movie, realistically I have a really calm lifestyle I have but when there's action, THERE'S ACTION.

5. What is something on your college bucket list?

Something on my bucket list would have to be meeting lifelong friends and connections during my time in college. And looking at it from here, I would check it off.

6. What’s your guilty pleasure? (song, movie, food etc.)

I refuse to absorb new media, I’ll listen to the same music, watch the same shows, eat the same food, I’m currently in a comfortable and stagnant phase that I’m hoping to get out of soon.

My take is that Kanye West made Taylor Swift famous, if we really think about it. Taylor Swift was popular but after the VMA incident she sky-rocketed in popularity because of Kanye West calling her out. I'm just saying to all the swifties, Kanye made y’all.

10. Describe a time where you had to step up and be a leader?

A time where I had to step up and be a leader is when I’m playing League of Legends and my team is feeding and saying how we should forfeit and move on to the next game, but me with a decent score and an attack damage carry, I tell my team to stop talking and listen to my callouts and we’ll win. I simply say in the chat with all the commotion “don’t worry we scale” after I typed this I proceeded to peep game and lock in playing like I was on an esports level. Showcasing A-class performance and making the most strategic calls to lead our team to victory. We had some bad fights and my team would complain saying I was wasting their time and saying how we should have given up a long time ago. But I would ensure their victory was closer to us than the opposite team. With the game now being an hour long the deciding fight was soon to approach. In the last fight I gave instructions on who to target, who to protect and what to secure. As the fight conclude we wiped their whole team and as we rushed down the lanes destroying the their base into shambles I proceeded to lay down the the ultimatum to the enemy team that was talking smack all game “GGEZ” as the game ended I talked so much mess in the post - game lobby and told my teammates how I ensured victory was in our hands.

Answer: i’ve sometimes done lil art streams for friends before! i could use the same capture software to make speedpaints sometime.... i’ve been considering it for a while actually! 

my process can be a lil sloppy when i try to break it down into steps for tutorials so i think the best way to show + explain is through art streams (& video process)... 

i was thinking of starting art streams on twitch in the near future too... it’s just when i’ll finally be able to get setup finally that i’d be able to set a streaming schedule

The Spice Girls met at the hospital by accident of former member Mel B

Melanie Brown, a former member of the Spice Girls, underwent an emergency operation last Monday that lasted more than three hours due to an accident, the Spanish portal elpais.com reported.

The ex-singer, better known as Mel B, posted a photo on her Instagram account with her right arm in a cast. "Many thanks to the wonderful nurses, doctors and my amazing surgeon for the care they gave me during my hospital stay after suffering a fracture of two ribs and a cut in my right hand," the message said.

Due to the seriousness of her injuries, the artist had to cancel the presentation of her recent biography that was scheduled to take place in New York City.

“Thankyou to all the wonderful nurses dr's and my amazing surgeon for the care and expertise given to the hospital I've been staying at, suffering 2 broken ribs to severed right hand need emergancy care, to having had to have over 3 hr surgery to repair the damage then the purple sling, I've had to cancel my book signing today in NY, I appolagise to each and every one of you who bought there tickets to meet me today I'm absolutely gutted but I can assure you it WILL happen at a later date, I promise, but for now My right arm / hand is all stitched up and I'm trying to keep still to heal my broken ribs, ohhh the pain, but I'm in super safe hands with the care of everyone here at the hospital !!!!! thank you for understanding, I love you all #accidentshappen #needtimetoheal #hospital”
