Hi everybody I’ve posted a new video to my YouTube channel in honour of Valentine’s Day today. It is a tutorial on how to make chocolates for your 18 inch dolls. Please check it out it would mean a lot to me. Image Description: a screenshot of a YouTube video featuring a photo of a Nellie Oleson doll standing in front of a table with a box of chocolates on it. The text reads BC’s Doll Place: 18 Inch Doll Chocolates Tutorial.

Catching up on Laura Ingalls Wilder's Little House books this year, after many years of abscence...
In "These Happy Golden Years", Nellie Oleson actually said "utterly too-too"! 😄

When you learn that the character of Nellie Oleson was a combination of two girls who Laura remembered as rivals, the natural assumption is that there was a mean little girl at Plum Creek and a different mean girl in South Dakota. So it's funny that it's wrong. Real-life Nellie Oleson Owens really did just happen to move from Walnut Grove to De Smet, and the second girl was the romantic rival who went out buggy-riding with Almanzo in These Happy Golden Years. Truth can be just as strange as fiction, it seems.

Purely selfish request- How would you feel about doing a short post on 1800s prairie style icon Nellie Oleson? Source- I'm greedy and evil.
uuuuuuh I never watched Little House on the Prairie so I really couldn't. I'm afraid this is a fanfic situation- you're just gonna have to write it yourself. Send me a link when you do.

Get to know you (tag game)
Tag 9 people you’d like to get to know better. I was tagged by @mega-aulover Thanks dearie!
Last song: Hero by Enrique Iglesias. Gotta love us some awesome guilty pleasure music. 😉
Currently watching: 1899. I know it’s buried in the Netflix graveyard of great cancelled shows but yeah …
Three ships: Haymitch Abernathy x Effie Trinket (too obvious?), Niles Brightmore x C.C Babcock (The Nanny) and Fox Mulder x Dana Scully (The X Files)
Favorite color: Golden and yellow.
Currently consuming: A glass of Troca (Swedish soda)
First ship: Nellie Oleson and Percival Dalton (Little House On The Prairie).
Relationship status: Single and happily married to Hayffie for 12 years. I tell ya, if I invested as much time and effort in a real-life relationship as I do Haymitch and Effie’s I’d be a grandmother by now. 😂
Last movie: The Best Exotic Marigold Hotel.
Currently working on:
A Hayffie AU (not yet published) where Haymitch raises geese for a living and Effie’s an heiress and (to hear her tell it) an up-and-coming fashion icon. Story takes place in a reimagined Panem where the Games never happened. Romcom hurt/comfort.
Taste of Strawberries (obviously! 😂) 40 chapters thus far. My massive Hayffie magnum opus about Haymitch and Effie creating a life together post-mockingjay. It’s a slow burn about love, trauma, addiction and xenophobia.
Thanks for tagging me! I tag (if you haven’t already done it) @ilikeyoubetter-sober @daliceus @greywitchproject @sparklebear11 @dandelion-in-spring @mollywog @violets-and-tea-leaves @tessaservopoulos @jroseley and anyone else who feels the urge to share.

Nellie the doll has always felt like she should be a 1970s character because so many of the child stars of that era had freckles and/or red hair. So, with that, and since I already have my own version of Nellie O’Malley, I would like to introduce Nellie Jennifer Murphy. She’s Nellie O’Malley’s great-granddaughter, and goes by Jen. (Only her grandma calls her Jenny.)
She never tells people her first name because the TV show Little House on the Prairie is very popular and the antagonist is Nellie Oleson, which has lead to a few unfortunate reactions in the past.
I’m planning to make a couple of 70s style outfits for her, definitely a prairie-style dress and maybe a romper.

what was your favorite children’s book growing up?
So I've never read the entire little house series, but the library we used to go to had copies of them that were broken up into individual stories from the books. My favorite, which I read every time we went, was Laura and Nellie, and was about Nellie Oleson's birthday party XD Later on of course it was the Betsy-Tacy series, but I didn't know about those until my aunt gave me the first two books when I was eleven.
