What makes Shourtney stand out to me (as a possible couple) is that despite all the LA influences and insane talent, they kinda seem like two people you could see hanging out in your neighborhood. They are so special but normal at the same time if that makes sense.

I also feel that neither of them are particularly great at hiding their true feelings about people and things around them - and I love that about them. I'm sure they do a loooooot of self-censoring but at the same time, have hard time maintaining a proper poker face.

Actually, there are some 2019-2020 videos where Courtney and Shayne start acting silly/flirty together, and the other person in the room (usually Ian and Damien) has a slightly amused but uncomfortable "here we go again" expression on their face. The expression is so relatable 'cause I've been in similar situations myself at the workplace and kept thinking "you guys really need to do something about this romantic tension 'cause we have a meeting with the boss in two minutes and she might have some questions". So awkward but hilarious at the same time.

Similarly to the previous anon, I also wish we could hear their own experience at some point since what we discuss here in Tumblr, is mainly just speculation/interpretation. Even if it turns out that Shourtney never happened and we shippers have been living in delulu, I'd still love to hear what their shared journey has been (bts) since it feels like they rarely talk about their friendship/something-else-ship anymore. Ian and Anthony discuss their friendship frequently in videos, Shayne and Damien make references to their shared past experiences from time to time, and I've even heard Amanda and Angela commenting on how close friends they are. But I can not remember the last time Shayne and Courtney had even a brief discussion about them as a duo, despite being one of the more iconic ones.

I actually think that it was the contradiction between their non-verbal language and verbal treatment of each other that led me to speculate (1-2 years ago) that something is going on bts. For me their "heart eyes" alone are not really a proof of anything since they keep looking at half the cast with similar endearment. However, I found it weird that they would look at each other so lovingly (at least in brief moments) but rarely ever say anything friend-like directly to each other or even act politely, like normal coworkers. Some people will explain that with their long friendship but they are close with Damien and Ian as well and rarely act in the same contradictory way with them. I just can't explain that with anything else but "something's going on".

As a background info: I started my Smosh journey with videos from 2022 and 2023, and initially, knew nothing about the Shourtney shipping that happened in late 2010s. Despite this (or because of it?) I sensed something between them and was not surprised to hear that they might be more than just coworkers. However, I def understand why shippers got a bad rep in Defy era because I can not sense the same chemistry between them in older videos and would have needed a fair amount of delulu to convince myself that they are together. Nowadays, it's the other way around: you need to make a lot of mental acrobics to explain why they are most probably just friends.

Btw, sorry for a long, not-so-cohesive ramble on this. I'm writing this in a sleepy mode, and am not sure myself what is the red thread of this anymore. :D

Just watched philosophy tube's video on antisemitism. Abigail is known for doing her due diligence and really giving her all to do proper research, at the beginning of the video she even mentions how grateful she is for the jewish script consultants who helped her with the episode. I was thinking this is what I need rn, an ally putting effort.

In minute 21 she mentions the only reason jews came to Palestine in the early 1900 was because of the "British mandate which started in 1917" (as far as I'm aware it started in 1920), which "supported the zionist project at least in part bc they wanted to get rid of the people in Britain". She then makes it seem like the only reason the mandate ended in 1948 was because of the Arab revolt (its the only reason mentioned). She continues to say at this point in time the Palestinian people basically asked the UN for their land back to which they responded "that's Israel now". This section doesn't have any sources appearing on the screen while she speaks. Her following quote is "its a wonder I'm not invited to teach more history classes" which. Sorry but its not a wonder to me....

I don't blame Abigail, I still like her as a creator and I will continue to watch her videos and support her. I also understand that not all Jewish people will view this as poorly as I have, and the proof is that none of the Jewish script consultants she hired seemed to have said anything (I assume) bc she kept it in.

But I actually mind a lot to see she choose to present a narrative in which the Jewish people are once again passive in the events which came to. My great grandparents in Germany (in early 1900s) did no go to a Jewish youth program which encouraged their participants to support the Jewish yishuv and believed in the right to return to their land (way before the mandate btw) for gentiles to think the only reason we came back is cause it was in Britain's interest. These specific people believed that land is and will always be their holy land.

Why omit one?

So I would say it's inaccurate, to say the least, to present it as the Palestinian people asking the UN for their land back to which the UN said no? That is just. Not what happened at all. And the first and very basic most research (Wikipedia) presents why this is false.

I'm really bothered by how this whole sectioned just went up with no sources. Did no one mind? Sigh.

Jing Yuan in the Sedition - New Proof!

So, most people know that we have basically no idea what Jing Yuan was actually doing during the sedition. Blade has this one ominous voice line about him that reads:

He always... He always understood the price better than any of us, yet he never spoke up — never did anything!

What this means we don't know yet but I found some evidence that Jing Yuan was actually there.

I was re-watching the Jingliu vs Blade fight cinematic and noticed a section that flickers by really quickly.

Basically, it shows these images:

This pic is important because:

It shows Dan Feng's cloudpiercer spear, the broken sword wielded by Jingliu and later by Blade, and Jing Yuan's weapon

The sword being broken at this point tells us it is during the sedition at the earliest

The presence of the sword graveyard, the burned trees, and the mountains also indicates the location of the sedition after the drama

This implies that Jing Yuan was at the sedition event when it was happening! (This is not the fight with Shuhu because the mountains are not the border that Shuhu was attacking btw)

Not sure what resulted in all of them having to leave their weapons behind

So I've included two pictures because the initial assumption is that this must be the scene where Jingliu fought Jing Yuan after she became marastruck but it is not! The surrounding locations are totally different, the new pic has the flags and mountains in the background. It is this location:

This is also after Jing Yuan became the general and acquired Lightning Lord from Tengxiao which was close to the sedition because we know from letters that Dan Feng was his very first case.

We know from this livestream that Jingliu did not become marastruck until after the 10 Lord took her away, which was about 1 year after the sedition. 14:09 is the relevant timestamp.

And we also know from the myriad that Jingliu was leading the cloud knights after she got her magic ice sword during her fight with the abomination:

So yeah...

Since they snuck these frames in on like 0.1 second flickers they're definitely intended to be teasers that Jing Yuan was infact there and that he found Jingliu after she defeated the abomination.

I only noticed them because I'm autistic enough to watch all of the cinematics on the slowest speeds possible lmao.

And also Jing Yuan's fansong contains a picture of Jing Yuan summoning Lightning Lord at the mountains. (This fansong is by the company everyone thinks Hoyo commissioned because of their weird accuracy - infact Hoyo apparently recently added their songs to their spotify playlist or something so it's more or less guaranteed at this point. You can watch all their videos on their bilibili.)

So yeah I don't really know what to do with all this information at the moment. I think it could explain why Jingliu is targeting Jing Yuan in her trailer, though.

It does place this scene as probably during the sedition, especially with the gushing red moon and the flames.

Jing Yuan probably stepped in and stopped her from going a bit too far because she does, of course, need to spend some time post-sedition still a member of the cloud knights before she gets taken by the 10 lords.

You, much to his dismay, disinfected the wound with alcohol and with kurogiris help stitched up the wounds and wrapped them with a compression bandage and made him rest while checking in every so often to change out his gauze and bandages and cleaning the wounds again.

You also checked in quite a bit to make sure he was hydrated (with water because all the idiot drinks are energy drinks and alcohol)

Going back to listening to his interests, you both share some of the same interests so it helps a lot with your bond with the leader of the league. Even political views.

He listens to you too, even if he doesn't understand some of your interests or is very knowledgeable on certain topics you enjoy, he loves listening to you. He actually thinks your way of speaking and the way your voice sounds is very, very cute. But again, he'll never tell you. People will do whatever they can to pretend that 'RT' and 'CRWBY' have absolutely no overlap and that 'RT' and 'RT Higher Ups' has nothing to do with 'RWBY.' Why? Because they personally can't justify supporting RT in any way, they can't justify watching RT made stuff without being critical of it, and they can't justify enjoying something made by and influenced by RT. So they have to pretend that RWBY somewhere is entirely separate and entirely pure and entirely above criticism and that CRWBY is entirely wholly 'Not a part of RT' and that RWBY being on Crunchyroll is proof that watching RWBY doesn't help RT or bad business practices in any way. (btw I personally don't believe that watching or liking RWBY is bad, it's not the exact same thing as Harry Potter, I think talking about and liking RWBY is perfectly fine just so long as you acknowledge that it isn't perfect and are willing to critically analyze it as part of Rooster Teeth.)

Somehow, me calling out Miles Luna or pointing out how he was the head of animation at Rooster Teeth - aka, a RT Higher Up - for literal years, is something that they just never happen to see, so they can go on pretending that RWBY and RT don't overlap at all.

These people will say I'm being biphobic for pointing out the difference between coding and confirmation despite being a bisexual woman with tons of queer ships who writes queer fanfictions where I make ninety percent of my favorite characters including Blake and Yang openly and unapologetically bisexual and despite the fact that I'm actually actively pushing for more and better queer confirmation... And then when I say "hey by the way remember how Miles Luna told a 'funny' story about how his drunk girlfriend was making out with a friend and he and other guys stood around oogling it because it was just so hot that it made them super turned on and then went on to say that he wasn't threatened by it like he would be if they were men because women didn't have what he had?' These people will say that rwde posters are secretly misogynists for saying we want Jaune to be less involved in the show and then when I'm like "hey, do you guys remember when Miles made tweets calling Tifa Lockhart a prostitute for wearing clothes he said were 'somethin' else' and do you remember when he made a youtube video called 'video games for your girlfriends' where he basically said women were too dumb to play hard video games but if you tricked her into thinking she was doing okay at a simple one, maybe she'd jerk you off? And do you remember when people posted pictures of him happily lounging with a body pillow of a then sixteen year old Ruby with the caption 'careful miles, she's still only sixteen' and I think he liked the tweet instead of being like 'what the fuck?' And also I don't know much about it but he apparently made a podccast called 'Fan Service' with Gray Haddock and that doesn't sound super feminist" And they once again just ignore me completely and pretend they didn't see that part of my post and then turn around and be like "well my latest interaction with RWDE has proven that they DOUBLY hate women because they HATE the guy who made the pixels that are named Ruby Rose look like a woman!"

These people will tell me that I don't care enough about RT's controversies and bigotry despite the fact that I've talked about it over and over and reblogged other blogs talking about it over and over (including a post where I told people to be careful to not harass random voice actors and animators demanding answers because the problem was clearly people who were higher up) because I don't post about it all the time without ever mentioning RWBY again (wonder why they want that -_-) but then when I'm like "Hey guys, remember the fact that Miles Luna the person who helped create RWBY and has been like one of the lead writers since RWBY's creation was also a literal Rooster Teeth higher up who was head of animation for years AKA a Rooster Teeth Higher Up," they again just fucking ignore that. I have nothing against people who take to critiquing art as their primary personality online. Do you, and honestly, k-pop is the perfect place for that kind of hobby because you’ll never run out of things to be critical about. Something that kinda irks me though is that in the last few years, I've noticed an uptick in seeing a certain type of fan (usually a fan of another k-pop group or a multi) that’s all about being hyper-critical of one group (in this case BTS) without actually doing the work to know what the group’s history is: the bad AND the good. Because a lot of what counts for discourse is basically manti talking points recycled every 2 years by people who think they’ve just discovered something new, scandalous or damning about BTS or the fandom, but they’re at least a couple of years late. I say this because back when I was actively engaging in 'discourse’, I received an ask so covered in insults (every two lines this person thought I needed to be reminded to fuck myself), it was only at the end I realized this person was asking (demanding?) my opinion on BTS and diverse representation in their staff, music, and performances.

Lol.

I could’ve answered pointing out BTS's most successful tour before COVID which was the Love Yourself series, and which featured women of all sizes and all races working with BTS; or about how a BIPOC woman was the lead choreographer for BTS's title tracks, or, you know, things anybody who is a fan of BTS or ARMY would know.

But of course I just deleted that ask lmao.

It’s not that I think BTS is above criticism. ARMY is one of their biggest critics and the proof is in the last eight years - all that 'growth’ did not happen out of thin air. But it’s incredibly disingenuous to repeat the same talking points re: BTS and women when every. single. woman. who has worked with BTS has described their conduct, professionalism, cultural awareness, and overall behavior. I’ve lost count at this point how many times this has happened, and this is even with ignoring that a sizable chunk of the fanbase are Black women who of course can think for themselves. (Same goes for Korean women btw). Bibi and Leslie (the Black French women in that video) have been chronicling their stay in Korea since 2018 and they’re candid about their experiences there. They do not sugarcoat shit. Just by the way.

Also, can we just appreciate how beautiful they all look?

I'm dreading tomorrow for so many reasons, I'll list them because maybe you, or someone reading this, might understand my mindset lol

I'm fearful that maybe the media has twisted this thing more than we're aware. Looking at the history of this drama, most of it came from Deuxmoi and Lipstick Alley anons, to which sites like Daily Mail copy and pasted. I know that not everything that has been rumoured is true—but a part of me is (who is a fierce Florence Pugh supporter btw) is like... "Oh f*ck. What if they *O & Flo* admit there has never been any bad blood between them and this whole thing was just rumours". Yesterday I wouldn't of dreamt writing that, but there's this unwelcome ball of anxiety festering inside of me today as the premiere approaches. That dreaded "what if..." (edit: nah, I don't feel that way after typing out this whole message. But I am gonna look like a clown because I've been so vocal about Flo being a victim lol)

Then again I am dreading seeing the 'happy-clappy' photos of them getting off of the water taxi's and doing a brief dock-side photocall before the press conference. I know that Florence isn't obligated to do any press (just show up at the premiere), but just the thought of her having to stand next to them, without someone in-between, is really sickly. The same goes for the premiere. I feel like a lot of O stans are going to use pictures of them being all smiles as "proof" they're not feuding.

Someone on twitter posted earlier today that Warner Brothers are just to blame as Olivia, and I can't unsee that tweet, although they didn't say it outright—Warner Brothers is using Florence's own contract against by forcing her to be there. They're forcing a victim to be with someone she clearly despises for the sake of greed and publicity. I actually hope she doesn't go and just pays a fine or something. If they sue her she has the receipts. However, Dune is owned by WB so I presume she'll most likely go to keep them in her good books for now. Maybe 10+ years down the line Ryan Murphy will create FEUD season 69 based on the drama 😂

This is more advice for anyone reading—please don't post photos of O and Flo together. While the photos are gonna be real, even red carpet instagram stories videos, them being friendly is not real, even if they say they are besties or whatever. Also, lesser known gossip websites steal pictures from tumblr. Don't post pictures that you think are gonna make negative headlines for Flo! (Please do with O lol, she needs her comeuppance)

I just... I don't know. I love Florence and the idea of her, right now, probably being anxious about tomorrow doesn't sit right with me. She's avoided this film for so long... That suddenly she's thrown into the deep end by a production company who sides with people like Ezra Miller and Olivia Wilde. She's kinda being taken advantage of publicity wise. THIS FEELS GROSS.

We'll see how it goes. I understand the anxiety but nothing that happens this weekend negates what has already happened:

Florence has BARELY posted about DWD. She promoted other films that weren't hers and she was the only cast member (besides Harry I think) to repost the DWD teaser trailer from an account other than Olivia's. She also spoke about how the film's promotion of sex has made her uncomfortable. She pulled out of press besides the red carpet event. She never responded to Olivia's gushy instagram post praising her.

Olivia was also caught in a major lie. Either Florence felt uncomfortable on set and Olivia didn't stick up for her OR Olivia created this whole narrative of her being a knight in shining armor (this last one happened regardless). Plus Olivia keeps marketing this movie as something sexual when Florence spoke up.

Regardless of how the media spins their "friendship", there's still evidence of some sort of quarrel between the two. They'll be professional this weekend but it doesn't mean shit in terms of what's going on behind the scenes/personally.

I’m going anon cause I don’t want to get harassed on my main blog for what I’m gonna ask here. Why is it so important to know if two celebrities are dating? I love Shayne and Courtney but I don’t ship them or any other real people cause to me it feels invasive, but I kinda would like to know what goes through fans who do need this kind of go out of their way to confirm that they are right. At the end of the day, it doesn’t really affect us and it probably makes the cast be overly cautious of what they post in fear of being misinterpreted or getting their actual relationship outed when they aren’t ready for it to go fully public.

So I'm super recently know Smosh and both Courtney & Shayne. (I'll called them C & S) My first exposure to Smosh is on TNTL#106 (Released on Oct 26th 2022) because of Funhaus collab. Which I watched them regularly.

After that, I start watching others Funhaus collab and saw both C & S and instantly found that they have a very unique chemistry. So I decided to explore further more and start falling in love with them. At first, I thought that they're already couple until I found "Sucks At Dating" video series that make me realized they're singles back then. lmao

Then, I start follow C & S on their social to get to know them better and saw that C has YouTube channel and just restart posting vlog after 3 years hiatus. Of course I jump in and watch. After watching S's TikTok and C's vlog, I start seeing the same room all over their video. That's when I first realized that Shourtney might be real.

Let's explain the origin of proof post. I'm mostly using Tumblr as my fandom expression. When I arrived here, Shourtney tag is basically a graveyard. Not a lot of people rarely using it anymore. So I decided to create the post after I saw that Tumblr post:

Also, they start to don't give a fuck about sharing now. Like last 2-3 weeks. She started posting their selfie like 2-3 photos in the photo dump and another double date selfie with Shelby and her boyfriend. If you look back to last year. You will NEVER see this kind of content from them ever.

Finally, If you watch her community Q&A. There's a question about if she's willing to share her dating life or not. She answered that she's mostly an open book but right now she's on her own pace and everything that she post is for the reason. So you can get that she start to get comfortable to share with us now.

Some of that is original work, and the gap in September was when I submitted my MSc thesis. 120k is a good number, I'm proud ^^ although, I will try and be more rigorous next year, and actually do the 2 nanowrimo events.

30. Biggest surprise while writing this year?

That one of my fics is now linked on the TV tropes for one of my secondary fandoms. When I got a comment about it on AO3, I didn't think it was real (like a troll or something), but then I had a look and sure, there it was.

It's a really old fic that I didn't really plan out properly, and abandoned because i struggled with its pacing. But getting it linked on TV tropes motivated me to have another look at it. I've uploaded my word doc to drive, and I might start sporadically updating it, like I do with my DX x DBH crossover.

As if that’s any better🙄😆 Then you said that Johanne has posted her bed before and that you are certain Alex had just gotten up from the bed🙄 As more “proof” you said that you read a comment on Johanne’s post that mentioned how her apartment was decorated and that she is taking “good care of her apartment”.
