"Babyyy..." Your boyfriend Johnny whined for the 10th time this evening, as you didn't want to take your eyes off your new book.

"Come onnn, please come give me a huggg. I miss youuu." He begged, sitting up on the bed, waiting for you to come cuddle with him. But you didn't seem to listen, your eyes glued to the pages of your new novel.

So Johnny stood up and grabbed you by the waist in a smooth, fast movement, picking you up. He dropped you in your big shared bed, starring at you.

"Heyy!" You squealed, locking eyes with your boyfriend, for what felt like the first time to him that evening.

"Why won't you let me read, Johnny? It's only been-"

"3 hours!" He desperately screamed, because it's been a torture to him, not getting any attention from you for that long. It was like you wanted to ignore him.

"Wow... That long? I didn't even notice... Time passed by so fast." You chuckled and he pouted like a kid whose ice cream fell on the floor.

You smiled at your boyfriend's cuteness, moving closer to his body and holding his face. You kiss the tip of his nose.

At that he began smiling so big, that his eyes started closing. Your heart began skipping beats at how adorable he looked.

"Hug meee." He literally couldn't stop telling you, and you couldn't stop smiling, as your arms finally wrapped around his big shoulders.

"You thought I don't love you anymore?" You joked and kissed his cheeks, nose again, forehead and lastly, softly pecking his lips.

Johnny felt like it was the first time you kissed him, everytime you placed your lips on his skin. He never wanted to let go of you. You made him feel so warm and loved.

"I love you." He whispered in your ear, kissing your forehead.

You made a mental note to read again tomorrow if he was going to be all pouty and needy like this again.

���Uncle! I already gave it to her!” The kid eagerly jumped to Johnny after doing the task he has the kid to do.

“Wow! That’s great! Now, would you want to have some ice cream?” Johnny smiled as the kid jumped in enthusiasm again after hearing about the treat.

Both were sitting by the patio eating a cone of ice cream on their own while watching kids and parents walk out of the gate of the school. I wasn’t packed like earlier so they could see each one going out.

“Uncle, why do you always ask me to give some cookies to my teacher?” the kid asked while licking his ice cream.

Johnny just smiled at the kid and wiped the ice cream off the kid’s face. “Just because,” he answered.

“You always answer me like that! I need another answer!” The kid pouted and acted sulky just because he couldn’t get the answer he wanted, which made Johnny giggle. The kid never fails to make him smile with its whines and antics.

“That’s because you would never understand,” he said to the kid so calmly.

The truth is, Johnny just couldn’t find the right words to explain why he is still doing these things. Why he bribes this kid ice cream just to give her the baked cookies he made and making sure she eats on time. He can’t explain why he is still waiting for her to come out of her work and makes sure she goes home safely. He can’t explain why he is still being concerned with her well-being when they have long been broken up.

“Ah! I know!” the kid shouted that made Johnny out of his trance. “You like her! Uncle! Do you like my teacher?” the kid asked all smiling, thinking he hit the jackpot.

“How could you say that I like her?” he asked the little one. “And who told you about that? You’re too young to know about those things.”

“Mama told me about it,” the younger smiled. “She said that when you like someone, you would do a lot of things for that person. That’s what you are doing to my teacher now.  Also, mama said that when you like someone, you can give half of your snack to that person. But uncle gives more than half to my teacher. So, you like her uncle. You should tell her!” The kid was shaking and pushing him to do it.

The older just laughed at the kid. “Did your mama also said that?” The kid just nodded and continued shaking his shoulders.

“I don’t need to tell her that, kiddo,” Johnny said as he patted the kid’s head to calm him down.

“But why?” the kid asked.

Johnny did not answer but looked in the direction of the gate across him. There goes the woman, he loves, walking so beautifully just like the day he first met her. When she lifted her face, beauty is just eminent in every angle of it. Johnny just melted when her lips lifted into a smile. The smile that bought light to his world. It was used to be his. Now, it belonged to someone else. And that’s why she doesn’t need to know that he still loves her.

"Just because." He said.
