Nathan and Haley are THE heart of One Tree Hill

Yeah I said it lol. There are many hearts of the show. You have the brotherly bond between Nathan and Lucas. You've got the friendship between Peyton, Brooke, and Haley. And then the romantic relationship between Nathan and Haley. But tell me... which of these is the most consistent throughout all 9 seasons of this show. Nathan and Lucas are the first heart of the show but that really mostly ended when Chad left the show at the end of S6. Brooke and Peyton are the same thing. Yeah, they were a big heart of the show but that mostly ended when Hilarie left the show at the end of S6 with Chad. Brooke and Haley are a huge heart of the show but that really only started in S3 when they became really close while being roommates.

Nathan and Haley on the other hand is a huge part of the show from their first scene together in the third episode of the whole show until the very last episode of the show. They are the heart and soul of this show. Everyone is kinda connected to them. Lucas, Peyton, Quinn, Clay most everyone is so closely knitted to their storylines. Brooke is kind of the exception. She's connected to Haley's story but she also has a lot of characters who are only connected to her like Julian, Victoria, Alex etc

I recently finished One Tree Hill for the first time (That finale was amazing btw!). And I really don't understand why people think liking L*yton more than Naley is unpopular opinion.

A lot of people like L*yton more because of "The drama!" and the exhausting "will they? won't they?"

My unpopular opinion is that Clinn, Brulian, and even Mouth x Millie is better than L*yton!

I will never get over how Lucas drunkenly told Peyton that he hated her then did a 180 and asked her to marry him in Vegas. I will never get over how Peyton's character was ruined by making her entire universe revolve around Lucas. I will never get how forced L*yton is.

Nathan never told Haley he hated her even when he was upset at her. Mouth and Millie didn't have unhealthy obsessions with each other. Brooke and Julian have a much healthier relationship. And even if Clay told Quinn he wanted her gone he gave her an explanation on why he went over the edge.

Even if I ended up tolerating L*yton season 6, I still didn't ship it. I was just happy that I wouldn't have to see L*yton again in seasons 7-9. Which is great because Clinn is god-tier!

For Nathan

The human experience is art. We become a mosaic of every person we have ever met. Existing gives other people's existence purpose; we mold each other like clay.

Death - naturally - is tragic. But I often think part of the tragedy is that when someone passes, everyone that person has ever interacted with will also lose a part of themselves.

In 2021, my childhood best friend passed away. We hadn't spoken to each other since we were kids, and I felt guilty for grieving - like I was somehow milking his death.

But I have realised the grief is really love for him that has never left, and that he shaped me into the person I am today.

I have always been a little girl who has grown up too fast. I always had to be responsible, mature, and wise. When I was with Nathan, I was a kid - what I was meant to be.

We would play on the trampoline for hours, get muddy at the local footy, he taught me about Assassin's Creed, and we took goofy pictures together on our DS's.

He was protective of me, and when other boys teased him for having a girl best friend, he had no qualms about yelling at them and saying how proud he was to call me his best friend. His love for others was relentless, and as we grew apart - I am confident that trait did not change.

Part of the mosaic that is my identity is Nathan. At the local footy, he would drink so much Fanta his mouth would turn orange, and the sugar would make him unstoppable - becoming the king of tiggy and climbing trees quicker than a monkey.

Every time I smell the smell of oranges, like a reflex, my brain conjures an orange toothy smile.

Even in death, he has made me discover so much about the world.

I use the word "freakazoid" because my friend Caty said it once, and once she did, I couldn't stop saying it.

Whenever I see or hear SpongeBob - I think of my friend Annie and her giggles because SpongeBob is her favorite show.

I love to wear the color blue because every time I wear it, I get told I look like my sister - and she is my biggest role model.

If I have to pick a number, I always pick 3 - because it was my brother's first-ever footy number.

I see, think, and do things other people wouldn't because of how others' existences have crossed with mine. We may grow apart later in life - but there will always be an 'X' - an intersection between them and me.

I am a mosaic of experience, and every person you've ever met is one too. You're exchanging, adding, and losing pieces to each other.

Life's purpose is at the intersection.

First Time Watching One Tree Hill

So I’ve watched the first 2 episodes of Season 7. I don’t know what to think yet, obv.

1) Good for Hilarie for getting out of there.

2) Brooke/Julian is fantastic and I want more.

3) I’m a sucker for a love interest defending from a toxic parent. It’ll get me every time.

4) I’m impressed that Quinn’s divorce isn’t about some big scandal. People grow apart. This happens and it’s a valid reason for wanting to get a divorce. I hope this stays the reason.

The rest, idk yet.

I hate the Nathan scandal storyline and I’m wondering if the baby is actually whatshisface Clay’s? But this woman thinks she can idek when all you need is a paternity test.

I don’t know how I feel about Clay.

I don’t like the idea of Nathan drunkenly cheating, it doesn’t make sense. AT ALL.
