the sge movie was terrible. let me tell you exactly why i think it sucked
i think they messed up sophie and agatha's friendship. they were never lovey-dovey or "besties for life!" kind of friends. sophie was using agatha as her "good deed" to get into the school for good and evil, and agatha knew this. from this toxic relationship emerged a real friendship, but not really until they got to the school for good and evil. also, one of sophie's main character traits is that she's a shallow bitch who uses everyone to get what she wants (and we love her for that!), but they completely removed that trait when they made her "besties!!" with agatha.
wishing tree?? hello?? let sophie be obsessed with fairytales!! i know they had to do it for the exposition and for the people who've never read the books but they're not doing her character justice.
agatha's personality?? where did it go?? where did my frumpy, grumpy, sarcastic, witchy teenage girl go?? they barely gave her any of her original personality - she wasn't even slightly grumpy until she went to the school for good and evil.
tedros and agatha's relationship. it was so DRAB. the enemies to lovers banter was barely there!
i love sofia wylie... and i have literally no problem with agatha being a POC, i have to admit that sofia wylie is conventionally attractive. agatha is not supposed to be conventionally attractive. she is the opposite of the beauty standard, which is one of the contrasting traits between her and sophie. if they chose an actress who definitely does not fit the beauty standard and had agatha's whole self-realization plotline, it would have fit much better with the story. again this has nothing to do with sofia wylie being POC, so please don't take that the wrong way.
what happened to the swan crests??
why was the school master shown. like the biggest mystery of the first book is the school master. they ruined all the fun by introducing him at the very beginning.
where's sader? where's princess uma? WHERE IS CASTOR AND POLLUX????
the beast?? where's the beast at?
why was sophie punished for talking to an ever... when they were literally in the same dining room... they ruined her whole transition into evilness by having Lesso cut off her hair instead of the beast.
THE RANKINGS. THEY GOT RID OF THE RANKINGS. WE NEVER GOT TO SEE SOPHIE'S "F IS FOR..." OUTFITS.
also Lesso's character was fucked up. they took evelyn sader's plotline and meshed it with hers and it makes me so mad because it takes away from her future relationship with Dovey and it strips her of her character!
WHY WAS DOVEY LIKE THAT.
um where was the circus of talents?? like was that not the biggest thing that happened in the whole book... soman i'm so disappointed in you.
i liked how they did the trial by tale in the movie but i wish they kept the original plotline.
they did my boy yuba so dirty.
also the forest groups was so annoying to watch. i wanted to see sophie and agatha mingle with tedros in the forest.
wtf is this blood magic stuff. did we all collectively forget that entire thing happened in book 5 (or was it book 4? i don't even remember)
they could've made this a 10-episode TV show so easily. they didn't have to get lawrence fishburne or kerry washington or michele yeoh. they could've given smaller actors/actresses a big platform. if each episode was an hour long, we would've gotten much more than we got in this shitty movie. each season could be 1 book. catch my drift? netflix, you know i'm onto something.
i wanted a groom room scene.
the ever's ball. ugh. they did agatha so dirty.
HER CIRCUS OF TALENTS GOWN WAS REMOVED BECAUSE THERE WAS NO CIRCUS OF TALENTS
they did hester so dirty. like where was her witchiness? her superiority complex? her intense and undying love for her coven even though she insults and belittles them constantly?
ANADIL!! where were her rats?? also i think i saw someone else point this out that they could've cast an albino person because she is albino in the books. there's already so little albino representation. and that doesn't mean she can't be black, she could be a black albino person. i did love the girl who played her though.
i wanted more coven scenes.
tedros was not annoying like he was in the book and i was mad about it lmao
agatha and tedros felt so forced!!
that's all i can think of right now. im so mad about the movie that im going to go write an entire screenplay for a 10-episode tv series.

I hate when they change like vital plot points of a book to fit in a movie. I mean, first of all the iconic F outfits. The Circus of Talents. We lost Princess Uma, a bad bitch if there ever was one. Anyway thoughts below but I can’t add a read more on mobile so sorry. Spoilers obviously.
Thoughts on the School for Good and Evil movie
Good
- The design and aesthetic of all of it was beautiful. I mean like everything was elegant and stunning and just visually incredibly pleasing.
- Sofia Ann Caruso is a great Sophie, she’s cringey and mean and overdramatic. She is the love child of Megamind and Regina George.
- Also Theron and Washington made great professors.
- The Tedros had a cool sword, iconic dumbassery, was pretty and also had cool fits which is how I like my men personally.
- Sophie and Agatha’s friendship at the start was super natural and well written.
- Soman cameo.
- I loved the little addition of Professor Anemone previously being a history teacher. It was just such a nice little touch to the world building and her character.
- The inherent creepiness of the casting for Rafal. I mean I always imagined him looking like a teenager but him looking like he’s in his twenties and trying to claim Sophie as his child bride really adds that extra layer of ickiness.
- Literally everything with Gregor Charming. An icon, a legend, he is the moment.
Bad
- Sofie Wylie is a good Agatha but they wrote her so blandly. Also like where was the initial awkwardness? We deserved bitchy goth loner Agatha. And like it would’ve been cool if Agatha was more conventionally unattractive. Like no hate to Sofie Wylie she’s absolutely gorgeous but it would’ve been nice if she did have that whole thing of yeah people don’t think she’s pretty but then her personality begins to outweigh that.
- Where the actual everloving fuck where Anadil’s rats? I was promised little rats. I was robbed.
- Why were all the Ever girls such bitches? I mean like passive aggressive? Yeah sure. But they were outright bullies.
- The plot change of Rafal purposefully letting Good grow complacent and vain. I think it’s more interesting when you have Good who genuinely have grown complacent without the manipulation of true evil or whatever. It adds more weight to it.
- The Circus of Talents was iconic and we deserved to have the wolves and fairies reveal.
- The blood magic? I mean like what? You have regular magic, no deus ex machina necessary.
- More development between our girls and Teddy. Like I love him being a pathetic little scrunkly but it felt like everything happened in two days. This may have been better adapted as a show considering it’s meant to be covering a whole year of school.
- We deserved hot pink finger glows.
- Lack of iconic book characters: Princess Uma, Castor and Pollux, the Golden Goose, the little pets they had, Anadil’s rats (yes I’m bitter), the librarian dude whose name I’m forgetting, he has Giles vibes, the seer, you know the dude.
- I wanted to see Hort’s frog pajamas.
- The actual explanation for the nemesis stuff like in the books.
- Where was the witches/Agatha friendship? Sophie betraying Aggie to avoid going home? Dovey caring about Good?
- More mean Sophie. Give the people what they want
- It felt so queer-baity. I know the book three twist but like it was just annoying.
Edit - Also the iconic line ‘I’m worse than my father. Because I still love you.
All in all it was a fun movie but having loved the books as a kid I felt like they didn’t really get done justice. Two and a half hours wasn’t enough to cover the whole story adequately in my opinion.

So. I just watched the school for good and evil movie. As someone who has been a fan of the book series for nearly ten years, here are my thoughts on it:
Pros:
Agatha and Sophie have great chemistry, as do Agatha and Tedros. Sophie and Tedros... Don't! Which is also good!
Lady lesso and Dovey are amazing. 10/10 casting
I actually liked most of the changes to the plot. The second book was never my favorite so I'm sort of glad they skipped over it and completely omitted the Sophie/Tedros. In the movie it's clear Sophie was never really into him besides the idea of him as a prince.
In the same vein, I liked how they changed Rafal. I never liked him very much as a character and making him a whole ass creepy adult instead of a blonde twilight-esque immortal teen was for the better.
The soundtrack and costuming was so campy. I love it. Got Jumpscared by the Eurovision song at the end though
Hort was perfect in every way. He's such a loser I want to study him under a microscope
Cons:
Really could have used more world building. I get it, it's a movie and there's only so much things you can fit into two and a half hours (in fact I'm a bit impressed they fit as much as they did in) but a lot of the charm of the books is from the world outside of the school and the magic system! It's what separates it from stuff like ever after high or Disney's descendants.
The actress they cast for Agatha, while perfect for the role in every other way, was simply not ugly. She could not sell me on her otherness. Visually she fit right in with all the other princesses at the good school.
While I loved a lot about Lesso and Dovey, I don't like that their friendship was removed. They're my Baby's First Lesbian Ship and I love their dynamic in the books, which the movie didn't even try to match.
If I'm remembering the books correctly, it seems like they gave Agatha's mom's backstory to Lesso instead. Bit of an odd choice, but it gives me hope for the retconning of the sisters thing. Speaking of...
The sisters thing
Yes, they're sisters in the books. Disappointing, I know. I've been reading posts of people experiencing what I like to call "sister reveal syndrome" all day.
I've seen a lot of people complain about the movie being queerbaiting. I totally understand where they're coming from. The movie didn't delve into the whole romance vs friendship plotline that the books had, which makes the true love's kiss at the end really seem like it was meant to be romantic.
In the books, one of the biggest themes is that platonic or familial love is just as important, if not more so, than romantic love. My personal feelings about it aside, the kiss at the end of the book made sense and was clearly not intended as romantic. The movie just didn't hit the same mark so it's completely understandable that people would be disappointed in Agatha and Sophie's relationship.
But like I mentioned earlier, it really does seem like the movies are planning on retconning the sisters plotline. Due to the casting Agatha doesn't look a lot like Sophie's dad or her mom (unless when Sophie's mom turned herself prettier for stephen she also... No, they wouldn't.) And they implied Lesso fills the role Agatha's mom is meant to. And no mention was made of Galvadon being related to the fairy tale world in any way.
Overall, I did enjoy the movie a lot. It isn't like the books, but I don't think that's a bad thing.

Lady Lesso x Reader Angst/Fluff/Smut Idea of fic:
Tumblr media
Listen.  And if... Reader, who is a woman, an Ever and the sister of Guenevere, therefore the aunt of Tedros.  And when Guinevere ran away with Lancelot and after Arthur died, Reader had taken care of Tedros by raising him.  Time passes and Tedros begins his first year at school while Reader becomes a faculty member of the School of Good (Obviously, the same events as in the movies happen with some small modifications that I will explain).
Reader is a princess but she never entered the stereotypes dictated to be that, she's not the type to sit there looking pretty and waiting to be rescued, she doesn't have the patience or the inclination  this side.  Reader was also a bookworm and wasn't as popular as Guinevere in their youth and that suited her just fine.
She knows how to fight with two swords simultaneously with as much strength and precision as any Everboy and even much better, she is courageous, determined and above all she really cares about the happiness of the people in whom she cares (and not only  because it was destined to go on the side of Good).  And here is her story with our Dean of Evil.  She went to School for Good and Evil and studied there at the same time as Leonora.  And here's the thing, Tedros wasn't the only one in the family who wanted to fight to love a Never (guess it runs in the family).
During her years at school, Reader fell in love with Leonora of Galvadon from the School of Evil.  Their relationship was secret but Reader was ready to go public and fight for the right to love Lenora, his True Love.  However, nothing went as she hoped and she ended up heartbroken.
Leonora broke up with Reader suddenly and very coldly before they could make their relationship public, then they both went their separate ways until graduation.  The truth is that Leonora didn't want to break up, not for a second, but she found herself trapped and manipulated by Rafal into his grand plan and she didn't want Reader to get hurt through her fault.
In short, a few years later, here they are both teachers in their respective schools and in a way work colleagues who are obliged to interact at meetings and lunches, Leonora and Reader are torn between having their hearts broken and being  happy to interact even if it's cold or awkward.  And since Leonora is Reader's True Love, she couldn't move on after breaking up with another Prince or Princess.
Throughout the events until Tedros makes his circus to have the right to be with Sophie, when Leonora says that "Ever and Never together is repulsive" breaks Reader's heart harder and she can't really hide the hurt glint in his eyes.
Leonora sees it though and she blames herself.  After the meeting, Leonora tries to catch up with Reader to talk to her but it turns into an argument with Reader saying "But you didn't have to come and get me anymore to explain your own word or action! I'm sorry to have you so disgusted that you feel compelled to say this so directly in front of everyone! I don't know what to say to you, Lesso. It was you who broke up with me when I was ready to fight for you! God, I was even ready to face the judgment of my own family and friends for you! So don't act like you care about my feelings and leave me alone!"  Leonora is left to fend for herself and Reader runs away crying.
The events of the film pass, the school and the students are in danger because of Rafal.  Reader protects as many students as she can with her magic and swords but ends up injured in the process.
When the schools have merged and Rafal is defeated, Leonora comes to Reader's bedside and confesses everything to her.  They share a passionate and intense kiss.  Reader saying "I'm all yours Leonora. Every breath, every kiss, they've always been yours and yours alone" and then it goes to with Leonora saying "Let me adore you like I should have for too long".
Long, detailed and intense smut with Leonora at the controls to end in style.
The end.
If there are people interested in writing it in the format they want, you can use this idea as many times as you want, I would be super interested in reading it!  Don't forget to tag me!

Darky lady lesso x wife reader
Part 2
*summary after witnessing what lesso did you said nothing to nobody about what happened in the doom room you thought lesso forgot about your punishment but she didn't.
Warning* mentions of death manipulation*
Tumblr media
I quickly walked across the halls avoiding everyone as i entered Lenora's room with paper works in my arms I sat them on her desk and turned away to leave. She said to me stop I stopped in my track, turning around to face my wife to only have a strong grip around my throat choking me against the wall. L-lesso!! I held her tight hand that was choking me you think I don't know what you did!? She let me go I coughed as I heard her taking something out of the drawer that was next to her desk and it was a knife. I backed away with my back hitting the wall as Lenora pinned me against the wall while still holding the knife. I know you told Sophie about what I did so now I'm going to have a small talk with her darling and to keep you out of the way. She dragged me to our room tying me to the bedpost. Lenora!! No please don't kill her please!! tugging my body towards her she only kissed my forehead before leaving the room with the knife in her hand. Now here trying my hardest to cut this trip with a piece of glass I had found. Yes! The ropes for free off my wrist I opened the door running through the halls in the school of good. Tedros have you seen lesso anywhere I asked the young prince yeah two guards took her away I immediately ran to the doom room because that will be the only place lesso would take her. I made it in front of the room and that's when I heard a loud thud my blood ran cold heart stopping for a second. No?! Sophie she can't be dead!! Then the door opened to reveal Lenora coat off and a chuck of hair in her hand. W-w-what did you do to her you fucking monster what did you do to her!!! I Pound on Lenora's chest tears coming down my face she grabbed my hands stopping me as I pulled away from her. I didn't kill her dove all I did was cut off her hair I mean besides you can't be a never if you look like a princess. I looked in the room to see Sophie crying about her hair not being injured or anything. Then Lenora grabbed my chin making me look at her with a sadistic smile on her face I didn't want to cause you anymore trauma love I wouldn't want your brain to replay those images in your small little head. I stood frozen in my place, not being able to speak as lesso just takes me in her muscular embrace.
Now let's go back to class we have a lot of teaching to do the days and weeks have passed and I wake up with nightmares with Lenora killing people in the doom room. But I have put it behind me since she would never let me leave her side. Me and are in our room quietly grading students and making up paperwork. Y/n darling what do you think about having kids I looked at her as if she was crazy!? There's no way in hell I want my kids'mother to be a murderer. I-i don't know about that Lenora she stood up hovering over me taking her coat off pulling my hair back and stopping my writing. How about we test that love..

WHAT DID THEY DO TO SOPHIE IN THIS NEW MOVIE!!!!!
1. Sophie is NOT an misunderstood Ever turned bad because of bullying, she’s ALWAYS been a Never. From the start, she has traits of narcissism and being extremely selfish. (Ex: treating her father badly, making fun of peoples looks, etc.)
She’s NOT a girly girl turned bad, she refused to recognize those toxic traits of herself because of her dream of becoming a princess. (Because of her mother)
We can see this by how she is compared to Giselle (the actual good person). Giselle is truly giving and unselfish, making Sophie jealous and try to compete with her. That’s because she’s not doing it to be kind, she’s doing it to be the princess her mom wanted her to be. She believes that being an Ever (or good) is a game of who can do the most kind things, instead of doing kind things from a internal want.
In the movie, it really feels like they’re setting up an arc where Sophie gets confidence and takes revenge on her bullies by being evil, and Agatha needs to save her because “you got taken over by the evil, I want my good friend back 😰” It also really feels like they’re making it seem like she’s being directly influenced by the Master to become evil, which IS SO NOT TRUE. She’s evil from the beginning, NOT effected by bad influences. She just doesn’t realize it because of her own self delusion.
2. Sophie and Agatha’s relationship is NOT EQUAL OR HEALTHY at the beginning of the novel.
Sophie uses Agatha as a way to elevate herself to becoming a princess. She doesn’t do it out of the good of her heart at all, and sees her as a sidekick. That’s shown by how she uses Agatha’s friendship to seduce Tedros, by tricking Agatha into thinking that she wants to go with her back to Gavaldon. Agatha only becomes friends with her because she has a low self esteem and has no one else but her mother. She sees Sophie as a savior because of that, making her idealize Sophie and refusing to see her bad traits. Their relationship only TRULY becomes equal at the end, where Agatha builds her confidence and Sophie recognizes her as an equal to her.
In the movie, it really seems like that they’re going for “oh they have a very strong friendship but is divided by circumstances”, which is WRONG. It was incredibly toxic at first, and the girls needed to work towards having a strong friendship.
Idk about the other parts, but I’m really not looking forward what the movies going to do.
*Btw SOPHIE WOULD NEVER WEAR THAT UGLY DRESS. ITS RAGS!!!! MY GIRL IS A FASHIONISTA AND WOULD NEVER SETTLE FOR THAT.

What U Watchin’ #8: The Idol (2023) (lol it sucks)
Tumblr media
While on my hiatus from posting, I’ve had some time to catch up with things in pop culture whether that be music, TV shows, or the recent gossip. The TV shows I’ve caught up on range from children’s shows that I forgot existed and current tv shows that are being heavily talked about on Twitter. The one show that was heavily anticipated by everyone whether they liked it or not was The Idol. The Idol follows the life of Jocelyn, who is recovering from a nervous breakdown that led to the cancellation of her tour. The show follows her life while she tries to reclaim her stardom and become the public’s IT girl. Along the way, she catches the eye of what seems to be a cult leader, and they just can’t seem to be away from each other.
Tumblr media
Sounds interesting, right? I thought so too until I watched the first five minutes of the first episode. I often think of all the things that The Idol could’ve been had it been written properly and not by two porn-obsessed freaks. The idol presented an opportunity to accurately represent idols who have been exploited from their childhood, and confront the feelings of their ever-changing image as they grow up from childhood starts, and now adulthood. Jocelyn was introduced to us as she was making an album cover for her, comeback after having a mental breakdown for the public to see. The first episode progresses with seeing a glimpse into the glamour and some of the darkness that resides in the industry. We are introduced to most characters who play a pivotal role in the storyline and as the show progresses we see why Jocelyn is in this predicament.
Tumblr media
From what I understood from the series, Jocelyn had a breakdown because of her mother's death where she spiral out of control. It seemed like her team comprised of Destiny, Xander, and Leia wanted her to succeed and get her back to the ‘People’s Princess’ they once knew and loved before the breakdown. While that seemed to be the case initially, The Weeknd’s character, Tedros, seemed to upstage Jocelyn’s storyline, and not in a good way. The show progressed and we see Jocelyn’s character slowly unravel upon keeping Tedros in her circle. Things suddenly go wrong, sudden creative direction changes, her team who are closest to her doesn’t even recognize her, opportunities vanish before her eyes, and inconsistencies in her life story. Jocelyn was a victim at the beginning of the series, but then she turns into a villain, in the most unsurprising way possible.
Tumblr media
Without going further into the storyline in case you guys want to watch it yourselves (lol) the show was awful, to say the least. The time when the show was bearable to watch was when The Weeknd’s character wasn’t on screen, anytime his character would appear it would almost immediately decrease the quality of the show. The Weeknd’s character, Tedros, was supposed to be a cult leader and have the ability to command anyone’s attention and use his charm to get you to do anything he wants, frankly, whenever he had my attention I cringed at whatever he had to say or his physical gestures. I watched this show with my friend (brave souls, I know) and we both agreed that The Weeknd lacked the charisma to be a cult leader and relied upon his poor judgment of what a cult leader is in an attempt to pull off the character. When I first heard of the show I thought it’d be easy for him to tap into being someone charming, charismatic, and somewhat sexy due to the music he releases but I found myself looking at The Weeknd differently as an artist. He came off as sleazy, unattractive, and corny for the most part. His portrayal of Tedros kind of reminds me of what Wattpad was like back in 2013, a 16-year-old girl, writing her fantasy about what a dominant man is while not knowing or having experience with a dominant man. He was initially introduced to us as a villain, and at the end of the series, he ended up being somewhat of a victim. It was hard to like him as a villain or a victim because that’s how poorly written his character was.
Tumblr media
It wouldn’t be a Sam Levinson original if you didn’t sprinkle in misogyny. At the beginning of the show, I stated that Jocelyn was being photographed for her new comeback album after having a mental breakdown. The album featured her with just a robe on and she has an intimacy coach on sat with her to make sure she doesn’t push any boundaries that she doesn’t want to. As this episode progresses, the intimacy coach is trying his best to get Jocelyn to cover up and not possibly ruin her image by making her album cover trashy, she was just a child star, and now to possibly see her naked on an album cover may not be the right move for her. In response to that they hide the intimacy coach in the closet and proceed to make Jocelyn take her clothes off in front of everyone. I would’ve just written that off as weird, but knowing the history of Sam Levinson, and how everyone is naked on euphoria unprovoked, it didn’t sit well with me. In the same episode, a picture of Jocelyn has been leaked of her with cum on her face during an intimate moment with whoever. They’re panicked and they don’t necessarily know what to do or how to stop his picture from going viral. This again showed the reoccurring theme with Sam Levinson with the unnecessary lewdness of his writing. While I know, children aren’t watching the show, it was unnecessary to put a cum shot of a woman where it didn’t necessarily need to be. He could’ve leaned into how revenge porn can affect a female celebrity but of course, he wouldn’t go that far, because this picture becomes a reoccurring theme in the show where they want to use a picture where Jocelyn is vulnerable as her album cover. Between wanting to use the picture of Her having a cum shot on her and her naked it was a bit careless, to say the least, especially knowing how much power men have over women in this industry. I don’t expect much from Sam Levinson, but I immediately need him away from portraying women's stories.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
The biggest misconception about the show was the fact that it was labeled a r*pe fantasy. I remember the reviews coming out before the show came out and the biggest story was the cum shot. Picture of Lily Rose Depp. While I found the show tacky and distasteful. It was not a r*pe fantasy. The show is not too far off from the storylines and concept of Euphoria, poorly written with some glimpses of hope due to side characters. The sex scenes were non-consensual, just unnecessary. Whenever it was initiated, it will automatically be an eye roll as the sex scenes had no place in that particular storyline. It led me to believe that Sam Levinson doesn’t know how to write a proper drama without including unnecessary sex scenes that make everyone uncomfortable. I kind of imagine it like a weird teenage boy, who just discovered sex, and now is looking at life through an over-sexualized lens. And because of this, this is why The Idol and even Euphoria will never reach their true potential.
Tumblr media
The Idol is a direct result when you let men take over to tell women stories. The idol had amazing potential to portray the actual behind-the-scenes story of a child star navigating her way through adulthood and the obstacles that come with changing your image and finding yourself after being told who you were for your entire life. A positive thing I can say about the series was the characters that I was introduced to aside from Tedros. Jocelyn, Xander, Leia, Chloe, etc. we’re all redeeming characters that could have possibly been an amazing showcase of the support system that you have in Hollywood how ever their characters were reduced due to poor writing. The shining light that was supposed to be the idol dimmed as soon as the Weeknd and Sam Levinson fired the original writer. Looking at the behind-the-scenes pictures of the original plot of the show you could tell it was supposed to be so much more, but was unfortunately, reduced to a six-episode series without direction or a proper end. Take this as a lesson to not speak over women and tell them what their experiences are, or you’ll end up with the failure that is now known as The Idol.
Tumblr media
The Idol is available for streaming on Max!
What do you guys think? Was The Idol worth the watch? Are you interested in watching? What could have been done to make the show better? What direction could the show have gone if the direction was still under Amy Seimetz?
Tumblr media
Ugh I’m finally back to my roots (writing) I needed to get this off my chest and what better way to break my hiatus! So excited to be back and writing about pop culture! More coming soon💓
I’ll see you guys next post✨

Hiding
Agatha x reader
A/n another venting fic, as well as my first agatha fic
I want to hide. I want to cry and hide and sink into the ground never to be seen again. I want the world to go away. I want it to stop. I want my brain to shut down again. I like it better when i’m numb. It’s easier to fake it. Easier to smile and pretend to be okay. I want to stop feeling. I hate this feeling. I hate how I feel all the time. Numb or sad, numb or sad, nothing else. I can’t even remember the last time I was just happy, with nothing else going on. That’s not to say I can’t feel happiness, it’s just always accompanied by the feeling of bittersweetness and sadness. God i wish I could just be happy.
My depression comes in waves. Sometimes I’m okay, sometimes I can forget that things were ever as bad as they were, even just for a moment. But then it comes back, it always fucking comes back. And suddenly I’m struggling to eat again, I’m not even trying to not eat, I just completely lose my appetite. And I get sad, so sad that anything remotely going wrong makes me want to curl up into a ball and sob. I forget things. Not like, where I left something or little things like that. I forget what’s normal, what I’m allowed to say, I forget how to behave. That’s what’s the most obvious, though people don’t put the 2 things together. Maybe that’s why people can’t deal with me anymore. I stop talking and when I do talk I mess it up.
I should talk to someone about it but I can’t bring myself to. I don’t want to talk, don’t want to take up space. So I hide. I shut myself in my room and hide under the blankets. I try to sleep but I can’t. I tell myself that I don’t want anyone to notice, that I don’t want to be seen and I want to be left alone. But god, do I wish someone would notice. Would tell me it’s okay. Would just lie with me quietly without a word. I wish I wish I wish. Maybe it’s too much, maybe the universe knows I don’t deserve it.
Truthfully I was stupid to think no one would notice. She would notice me not going to school. Why wouldn’t she? I’m in her classes and we meet up before school. I hope she didn’t wait too long before going in.
I know school’s over because there’s a knock on my door. It’s gentle, like she doesn’t want to alert me. I think she knows because she gets like this. Maybe not the same but she gets sad. When I don’t respond she comes in slowly. She calls my name gently before walking over to my bed. She puts her hand on my shoulder over the blankets, a reassuring grip. It makes me want to burst into tears. “I’m going to get changed and then we can just lie down together okay?” I don’t respond but I feel as she withdraws her hand, making me ache somewhere inside, and I hear her change.
She lifts the blankets and crawls inside, our faces practically nose-to-nose. I open my eyes to look at her. She was pretty, she never thought so but she was. She smiles at me gently, that smile she so rarely shows anyone, even me. I almost feel something other than sadness. Almost. “Do you wanna talk or do you just want to lie quietly together?” She asks, and my heart aches at her kindness.
“Tell me about your day?” I manage to croak out, despite myself. She does, complaining about Tedros and Sophie and all the other snotty princesses who can’t control themselves around the princess. Tedros is a friend of mine, our families having been close, but I find him a pain as well, at least when he’s around other people.
I watch her every movement, I struggle to keep listening but I find her voice soothing. I think she notices I’ve stopped listening because she stops talking and tucks some of my hair behind my ear. “What are you looking at?” She asks, whispering like I’m about to share some deep secret.
“Your face. It’s so pretty, I know you don’t think so but it is. You’re beautiful. I wish you knew that.” I whisper back. It’s true. I wish she could see herself how I did.
Her hands move to cup my face, “As much as I appreciate it, please darling, stop trying to take care of me for 1 minute. Just relax please, I’m okay, and it’s okay for you not to be.”
This time I actually do burst into tears. Ugly, snotty, tears. I feel ashamed, embarrassed. But she pulls me in tight, letting me cry into her chest, stroking my hair softly and holding me tight, as if to say that she’s not letting me go and she’s not going anywhere.
I don’t know how long we stay there, it felt for a while like I would never stop crying, then I couldn’t keep going, so exhausted, and I fell asleep on top of her. I woke up to her still holding me, I felt safe. I curled further into her, not wanting to move.
After a while she asked me if I could try to eat, she’d brought a snack with her, knowing I couldn’t handle much. She brought her own food, much more than she brought for me, it was nice that she ate with me, so I wasn’t alone. I nibbled on it slowly, it took me a while (she had almost finished her pile by the time I did) but I did manage to eat it. She gave me a warm smile and cuddled up close to me again. She put a TV show on, one of my favourites and held me tight for the rest of the night.
I was still sad, nothing she did would fix that. But it did make me feel cared for, like maybe there was a reason to get past the sadness, made me think about having a future. That maybe, hopefully, it would one day be worth every moment of wanting to hide, if it meant we would be together.

“They’re sisters it’s not queer baiting”
my siblings from this hell site, nobody knew they were sisters until book 3. Before the reveal there was like 2 hints to the possibility of them being sisters. They are so heavily queer baited throughout the books before that- people used to go crazy over the idea of them being endgame. The idea of Sophie and Agatha being together was pivotal to a lot of our childhoods and it was all crushed in like ten sentences two years after we were introduced to them. Nobody is actually shipping them, this isn’t fucking house of the dragon? But we are allowed to be upset about it!
There are so many moments in the books before the “sisters” reveal that made us think they would be together. Here’s some examples:
“Nearby, Tedros managed to reach his head from under boys and saw Sophie spring past. “Help!” he yelled— Sophie stepped on his head as she ran to help Agatha, who was being pelted with pebbles by Beatrix.” Chapter 13, book #1 this was almost directly after Sophie declared that Tedros was The One for her, and she immediately chose to protect Agatha over him.
“Tedros dove beside them. “Let me help,” he said, taking Sophie in his arms. “No—” Sophie wheezed—“Agatha.” Speechless, Tedros left her to his princess’s arms. Agatha pressed Sophie to her chest, hands soaked with her blood.” Chapter 30, book #1. Chooses her best friend over the prince she’d been vying for in her last moments.
“‘Who needs princes in our fairy tale?’ Sun exploded through fog, coating the two castles in gold. As the grass around it greened, the Storian blazed with new life and soared back to its tower in the sky. Across the shores, children’s robes, black, pink, blue, melted to the same silver, dissolving their division once and for all.” Chapter 30, just after Agatha kisses Sophie and saves her life with true loves kiss. The blatant queer symbolism in the description of the rainbow of colours which are then described as dissolving and erasing division is symbolism for the idea of finding acceptance and love, even with those previously thought of as “enemies” or “off-limits.”
“‘You make me happy, Agatha,’ said Sophie, ‘It just took me too long to see it”… “But Sophie had revised the prince with her sewing kit. Now he had boxy dark hair, goonish bug eyes… and a black dress.” Chapter 2, Book #2. Sophie had a pillow she previously stitched with a prince and princess, and had now stitched likeness of Agatha over the prince, symbolising Agatha as her Prince Charming and HEA.
“And Sophie and Agatha lived happy ever after, for girls don’t need princes for love to call. . . . No, they don’t need princes in their fairy tales at all.” Chapter 5, Book #2. Technically this is part of the manipulations from Dean Slader but it is a good reminder of queer undertones in the books overall.
Various quotes from book 2 that just stand out from a queer perspective:
“Agatha reviving her with love’s kiss,” “I won’t intervene in your lovers quarrel,” Chapter 5. ““Despite the storm in her heart, Sophie managed a smile. She had never seen something so beautiful. Then again, she’d never seen girls dance without boys.” Chapter 6. “happy together . .. without a boy in sight. ‘How can Agatha not want this?’” Chapter 7. “‘Just want to make sure she’s safe.’ Sophie peered down at the two armored knights, one short, one tall, standing in the blue pumpkin patch near the Woods Gate. ‘You sound . . . like . . . a . . . prince . . .’ Chapter 11. “Kissed a girl to life like all the best princes,” Chapter 11.
“‘I need more than a friend,’ Agatha had said. But what if she could make Agatha happy again? What if she showed Agatha she didn’t need Tedros? That their friendship was greater than any Ever After with a prince.” Chapter 13
And some quotes from book 3 before the reveal that made it all the more surprising to us when they were revealed as sisters
“Sophie. This time no anger came at the name. Only an echo, like the password to her heart’s cave.” Chapter 2.
“Strange, wasn’t it, Sophie thought, moving closer. She’d kissed Agatha . . . Agatha had kissed Tedros . . . and yet, she’d never kissed Tedros” Chapter 13, symbolising kissing a boy would be exactly the same as kissing Agatha
Honestly there’s more but I am so tired of typing already sorry.
As someone who was in the 9th grade when the first book came out, and who was first questioning my own sexuality at that time, I latched onto these books because of the queer coding between Agatha and Sophie. I was stoked when the books came out each year because I honestly hoped they would end up together. For them to be revealed at the last moment as sisters? It was crushing to me and many others, and it came out of nowhere. It was my very first experience being queer baited.
Many of you might not be of the opinion that it is queer baiting, since apparently in the later books the girls are revealed to be bisexual (which is awesome! I never read past the 3rd book sorry!) but it doesn’t change the interpretation of queer baiting that many of us growing up with the books had. Being excited about a possible relationship only to have that ripped away and made impossible so suddenly is crushing for anybody. Nobody is shipping them, because gross, but we are upset about the narrative of it. And it is exhausting being continuously told that “it’s not queer baiting, they’re sisters!” when we literally had THREE YEARS to develop a ship for them before having that reveal. Nobody is shipping them, but we are allowed to continue calling it queer baiting because it literally was, and with the movie it is a revival of that feeling.
And for people who didn’t read the books? Imagine what watching that on screen felt like for them.

SPOILER first thoughts on SGE film pt 1
this will be in bullet point but will be quite wordy, and it's just part 1. also not proofread so fair warning! first time giving Actual Opinions and it's just me spitballing but anyone can take it as they wish
listened to the first 4 songs on the OST when it was released, and after watching the movie, the OST still SLAPS
brutal, however, does not slap. as much as I love olivia rodrigo, brutal did not need to be there. and when the ending was okay, the accompanying modern music definitely ruined the okayness. couldn’t stand the credits and I watched all of it hshshsjks
costumes overall are so good. some were questionable (that initial theory that Agatha's poofy pink-purple dress in the trial by tale was early on in the movie and that it represented her not fitting into good that well yet? I believed that, and yea I don’t think it's symbolising anything now), choices in the makeup department are also questionable (hello Sophie nude lip, cannot get over you + never!Tedros facial scars??) - but overall, loved them I swear. Beatrix and Millicent were my favourites
somehow the characters were more… underdeveloped in the movie than they were in the books. a typical and forgivable choice yes, but why add new *characters* for certain one-liners when you could’ve just given them to the existing, underdeveloped ones?? (Chaddick, hi, I’m so sorry. you too Reena, Anadil)
uhhhh story progression. or rather, story fragments they chose to take away that I find are actually important to understand the twist later on? i.e. the whole nemesis thing and the Good and Evil rules. - like yes I totally get that they wanted to be subtle, that they wanted the viewers to be like “oh wow I totally forgot about that” but MAN. people will not remember smth that just seems like ordinary Dovey Being Good. and the nemesis dreams & symptoms weren’t even mentioned! from a non-fan’s perspective, that one wart was nothing. I dunno I dunno but the impact just wasn’t there
speaking of important lines. actually so disappointed “you were beautiful all along” didn’t make it. I understand why they didn’t dwell on it as it would make the [already 2.5hr long] movie dragging but there probably was some other way that I cannot cite right now
that said, I guess they really wanted to shift the message of the books? from messages about inner beauty and breaking standards, it’s really now focused on their friendship and that gray area between good and evil. which is nice in its own way
hahaaaa I did expect that a lot of class scenes would be cut, but erm. we literally only get 3 classes, and one wasn’t that useful. really thought they’d change the coffin scene into smth else that conveyed the message but guess not. again, dragging movie concerns
how could I forget the point of Sophie being Evil. or was she really? Gavaldon Sophie wasn’t that bad. in fact, she seemed like every other teenage girl until she came to the school. her Evil started to show there at least, esp in Room 66 - but that full 180 with Hester. I did not like that. how did they go from Sophie almost killing both Hester and her demon to Hester suddenly being okay with a truce through facials?? just because Sophie got a haircut?? and started being… less princess-looking? please
I’m aware I’m being too critical and nitpicky now so here are some things I liked
I've mentioned the OST and the costumes BUT OH the set! we've seen it all in stills and trailers but it really is as magical <3 kudos to the set design & production team!!!
Gregor Charming. cute. when I saw/heard his name, I remembered seeing it on the OST but I hadn’t listened to it yet. I liked the short character buildup, comedic timings and all, and actually showing the viewers how messed up the school can be with his “expulsion”. also it makes the whole Tedros killing the just-mogrified stymph even more jarring for Agatha
Tagatha! adorable babies. I liked their friendship. definitely the same, if not a little more than what was shown in the books. you can really see how Agatha gets comfortable with him, as does Tedros - cute inside jokes. love that. AND A KISS - I cackled when Tedros said he loved Agatha at the ball. It was a very book!Tedros move and I approve
Trial by Tale was fair. it’s made more minor and more swift but the point was taken across
Anemone's more complex personality and background BIG YES! You go Michelle Yeoh
I also liiiiked The Never Ball! Sophie turning up as a hag, the whole Nevers become Evers and vice versa, and the fight that broke out between the schools. Very nice, very good, and the modern music here was g
the whole cast really, but Sofia Wylie and Kerry Washington in particular. I love them. The way they portrayed Agatha and Dovey was straight out of the book imo, but they made it their own at the same time. Obsessed.
can't think of anything else atm bc I went out and am tired as heck but would rate 7/10! enjoyed it well minus the qualms I mentioned that's it for now? will make a pt 2 when I've really processed everything tomorrow

The Color Wheel vs. Good and Evil
In my fanfiction, Ever Never After, the Color Wheel, the system that will be replacing Good and Evil, is based on souls/fingerglows. The prequels suggest that fingerglows reflect the color of the soul, as evidenced by the twin School Masters. Even if this is contradicted somewhere in the main series, the idea is too interesting to dismiss.
Good and Evil seem to squeeze a lot of free will out of people. Although a Never can make the Good choice, for instance, Evil puts an unfair amount of pressure on their soul. This is especially true for characters such as Rhian (School Master), Sophie, Japeth, and Aric. Rhian II also pointed this out, specifically in regards to how his brother's soul "skews to the worst kind of wickedness." But a world without Evil wouldn't necessarily be better because Good is also a problem. We've seen that too much Good results in vanity, arrogance, shallowness, and stagnation. Bottom line, Good and Evil limit souls and keep them in an endless war—with each other as well as themselves.
Now, with the Color Wheel, souls embody both the positive and negative traits of their colors, and they aren't spiritually pressured to make the Good or Evil choice. Note that Good and Evil remain capitalized here because, in the Woods, they are significant forces with long-established meanings and rules. The Color Wheel, however, paints the Woods in a spectrum of morals and values. One example is the color gold. There are quite a few characters in the series with gold fingerglows: Agatha, Tedros, Rhian II, Rafal (from the prequels), and even Aladdin. Gold is a noble color that shines with positive qualities such as charisma and altruism, but it has its dark side: arrogance and self-righteousness. Interestingly, Agatha seems to be the only gold soul of the aforementioned who leans the most into the color's positive traits, which include loyalty and wisdom, though Rafal is a close second.
Obviously, people with the same color won't be the same people, especially if they have different shades. Plus, there are external factors (e.g., culture and environment) that nourish certain traits more than others. The difference here is that the soul has much more leeway, unlike with the narrow and tricky Good and Evil system.
What about the balance? Well, a new balance will emerge from the Color Wheel, one that doesn't favor princes, princesses, witches, and other famous (or infamous) medieval archetypes, but embraces all kinds of people. This is similar to what Rhian II wanted to achieve—giving everyone a chance to have their story told.
But what kind of stories will be told? Let's take one of my fanfic's (future) fairy tales, for example, The Cyan Reaper. It's about a man who lives in a society that has conquered biological death, where people have the choice to either extend their lives in exchange for staying biologically childfree, or have biological children in exchange for life extension. The man, wanting both immortality and descendants, tries to game the system. Of course, he loses in the end, and the Reaper woman takes his immortality away.
The moral of the story is: you can't have your cake and eat it, too! A classic, right? ;)

🏳️‍🌈Tedros is GAY 🏳️‍🌈
I am a huge SGE fan, and a bisexual teen, and I have had this thought on my mind for a very long time (ever since I read book 2), that Tedros is very obviously gay!
and I have seen some people on here saying Tedros is bi, but I disagree. and it’s not because I'm biphobic or don’t think it exists because i.am.bi.
but here's why I think he is a shut in the closet gay,
I believe that Tedros didn’t love Agatha or Sophie (because they’re lesbians). he just felt the need to fall in love with a princess like fairytales say. so he first found Sophie and was “in love” with her, but it didn’t work out because they’re both kinda fruity.
but he did like Sophie’s personality and they would have been compatable if she was a boy!
so when Agatha got pretty all of a sudden he forced himself to be with her, but in my opinion they just don’t work. and it is proven in book 2 when he doesn't kiss Agatha in the tower. it is because it feels wrong to kiss girls.
and then Sophie becomes Philip! and up to this point Tedros hasn’t kissed anyone because he always backs out last minute. but when Philip shows up and he quite obviously falls head over heals for him, Tedros for the first time tries to initiate the kiss!
later in book three Tedros gives Sophie another chance, and I think this is because of his love for Philip. he knows Philip is the only person he actually loved and so he gives Sophie another chance because they are technically the same person, right? but he changes his mind and goes back to Agatha very abruptly because he realizes he can’t love Sophie because she’s a girl and to stay with her would hurt to much as he would constantly be wishing she’s a boy.
and that is why Tedros is gay and not bi. because if he was bi he would have ended up with Sophie since his love for Philip would not have been ruined by gender preference.
he is a gay icon, and I stand by it!

so i watched the School for Good and Evil
ya’ll should know that i’ve never once touched the books, i am going into this blind and just wanna see how the movie does, as a prolific movie watcher and just that
right off the bat, i see we got JESPER FROM SHADOW AND BONE I LOVE THIS DUDE;
so they’re brothers, vv cool, oh is the Red one the evil one? yep i was right
it’s weird bc they’re brothers played by the same guy yet he just has great chemistry with himself
also, the mood just flipped from 0 to a 100 real quick, what just happened
i feel like they should’ve shown us them being brotherly and having arguments and maybe see Rafal slowly get angrier at his side always losing, bc really there was no way to see it coming. i could’ve done with a quick montage of them running the school and him growing angrier
“i prefer chaos” me too but could we get more reasons as to this whole thing other than just ‘evil’ ?
oh damn, the bad one died, i thought it would’ve been the opposite way
(but he aint really dead right? i mean)
so both girls are just hated on by the town, i can see them taking revenge together, lets all choose evil hm?
Aggie and Sophie Forever? *cough* gay
love that they just dont give a shit about what the peoples say; like insults thrown they just fly past them
Sophie just Rapunzeled this creep with a frying pan, im loving her, if i could i would choose violence too babe
“I seriously doubt there are any decent people in Gavaldon.” me too babe
so Sophie wants to get out and doesnt wanna settle for an ordinary life, why not just move in with Aggie and live out your happy lives together?
i wonder if we’ll see what happened to Leonora
so everyone ends up in the water when they get to their school? that’s a way to arrive
WOW i love the werewolf guard
“God I hate move-in day.” why do i vibe with this canine dude so much
i love that there’s a tower between the two schools, wonder what happens there
oh so Hort is Captain Hook’s kid. huh.
Tedros has got nothing on Eugene Fitzherbert
Tedros is King Arthurs kid? hm. better luck next time.
OH HE LOST HIS ARM I LOVE IT
THERE’S SOME ACTUAL DISMEMBERMENT HERE
oh hey its older Rhain, i love the actor’s work on Blackish
i mean hey look on the brightside, you got your own room to yourself
oh those bitches locked you up come on guys
if i were you i would’ve switched clothes, scaling a balcony in a dress cant be easy
whats with the creepy Cupid
WHY WOULD YOU SHOOT YOUR STUDENTS WITH ARROWS IF THEY WERE ON THE LEDGE
SOPHIE TURNING THE KNIFE ON HER WAS SO FUN
IS THAT OLIVIA RODRIGO’S BRUTAL YES
so if you can’t get a prince then you’re destined to end up as an anthropomorphic kitchen object or an animal?
what the actual fuck.
please tell me this entire school structure gets redone in the end
Hort has the makings of a good henchmen once Sophie gets more of a handle on her boss side
Gregor is a guy i can vibe with
idk who that random guy was with Sophie kissing him but he just made me laugh
Sophie growing into her evil side is showing and im liking it
Tedros and Aggie have a fun dynamic, hopefully he doesnt disappointment
again, i’d love it if both girls go for Evil
they talked about how Good and Evil are not really balanced, haven’t been for 200 years, so it’d be interesting if both of them go for Evil (even thou im pretty sure thats not where its gonna go)
imagine hearing your son got killed in school, damn, bye Gregor
how is this side of the school truly good if this is what you do to kids that fail?
OH MY FUCK ITS THE MONSTROUS NIGHTMARE FROM HTTYD I LOVE IT
not Rafal coming in and telling everyone Sophie’s a badass
ugh, Lesso had a thing with Rafal? i was counting on her and Dovey having a secret thing
oh fuck, that’s so sad, oh she let this little girl be free, holy shit that’s epic and sad and just damn, i loved it
whats with the big bird, what’s his problem now??
i like that Dovey is very aware of how fucked up the other princesses are about being ‘good’ and recognizes that Agatha actually is good, paralleling how Sophie is actually evil
the Nevers are some sadistic little freaks huh? i get it
Sophie’s in her villain era and im not sorry about it
Sophie said villains can be hot too
i miss Gregor
why do i kinda ship them? Tedros and Sophie? like they’re not exactly in it for like the deep stuff, you can tell it was more of an appearance based relationship with Sophie having him think she’s truly Good, etc. and considering how he’s been so far tells you what kinda prince he is so really they’re kinda perfect for each other.
ya’ll really wanna risk death outside the gates for each other? i mean Sophie, he’s pretty and Tedros, you talked to her like twice, one time she shot correctly so i mean, how well do you know her that you wanna be together?
Anemone was demoted to beautification? so legit EVERYONE here knows how badly the Good School has fallen, hot damn
OH Lesso was Leonora, fun
YO SOPHIE FLIPPING THE SCHOOLS WAS GENIUS I LOVE THAT
while i dont vibe with the whole thing that this immortal who knows how old man seeks out his true love in Sophie, who im pretty sure is liks 16 or 17 or smth, i love how he corrupted good
BC IT MAKES SENSE
HAVING THE GOOD SIDE BE ABOUT GIRLS PRACTICING THEIR SMILES, REWARDING THEM FOR THEIR REVENGE IN THE END, STUDENTS WHO FAIL THREE TIMES GET BOOTED, GOOD BECAME JUST AS BAD IT’S SO SUBTLE AND IT WORKS
ok but i kinda love that the girls parallel the brothers from the beginning

Wait they did *what* in the School for good and evil movie???
Assuming this is about my tags on a different previous post (because I can't tell what else it could be),
in the books, Sophie and Agatha are pretty much on equal ground as main characters, both of them have arcs that wrap around each other, both are flawed and both work to overcome those flaws. Sophie believes she is meant to be princess because she is beautiful and works to be perfect, ignoring that she is mean-hearted and literally only befriended Agatha, the "ugly" and lonely outcast girl, as a "good deed." Agatha is humble to the point of self-deprecating, not believing that it's possible for her to be a hero, and spends most of the book wanting only to go home (and working towards that goal), while Sophie's only goal is to switch schools so she can attend the School for Good and become a princess, and get a kiss from Prince Tedros, and ends up blaming Agatha for them landing in the "wrong schools" taking all this chance away from her.
That's not what happens in the movie.
The movie... racebent Agatha (casted Sofia Wylie, a biracial actress), left Sophie white, erased all of Sophie's flaws, even gave her a mean stepmother character (who was not mean in the books) and pretty much the movie all about Sophie??? Like she actually is a sweet and lovely princess put in the wrong school, only turning "evil" by the work of Lady Lesso (also got her personality axed) and Rafal (who is. something else entirely, but I'm not going to get into that now.) The movie pretty much erases Agatha's wish-granting powers AND a key scene from the books (where Agatha, who believes she's ugly, is comforted by Professor Dovey to see that she was always beautiful).
This movie also screwed up the timeline harshly (so no hope of adapting the two other books in the trilogy.)
I'm sorry for rambling but there is. SO MUCH. That is weird in this adaptation. I'm not even one of those "adaptations must stick as closely as possible to the books!!!!!" people, I can enjoy adaptations as separate from the movies, but by the sheer fact that Agatha is biracial and had her character reduced in favor of Sophie's story... does not look good.

132 Thoughts I Had While Watching: The School For Good and Evil (2022)
Tumblr media
Jesper, what are you doing here, and why is there two of you?
And where is your accent?
One of you is evil and one is goo - oh, the title makes sense now.
“I prefer chaos.” I mean we all love a bit, buddy, but you’re going too far.
And bad guy fell off a cliff and died a tragic death, the end.
Look at this ballroom.
CATE BLANCHETT IS THE NARRATOR? I LOVE THIS ALREADY.
Hey, it’s Lydia from Beetlejuice!
That cottage is so pretty, I wanna live there so bad.
Agatha makes me feel so much more confident with my Merida hair.
She has a cat named Reaper, and lives by a graveyard? That’s adorable.
“Hey, Ugly.” Dude, have you looked in a mirror?
Deville’s? Like Cruella Deville?
I love how people can call this girl a witch while she pets a baby goat.
It’s spelt Deuville? Why does that look prettier?
Wait, Cinderella exists in this universe?
“It’s a place that cannot be found, except by those who know where it is.”
“I want much more than this provincial life,” ~ Sophie, definitely.
You’re going out into the woods late at night? Are you crazy?!
Yep, girl is delulu. (That’s apparently a word now.)
That bird kinda gives me Alice in Wonderland vibes.
Wait, they got the schools mixed up? Princess and the Pauper, anyone?
How To Lose a Girl in Five Seconds: Tell her her hair looks like cake.
So this is basically Descendants?
“It’s cleaner than my own hand, trust me.” ~ an actual quote.
Okay, but why does the Never school look cooler?
The Groom Room? Oh, I get it you groom yourself to look pretty.
AHH, THEY’RE PLAYING SLEEPING BEAUTY MUSIC!!!!!
You know, I don’t blame Agatha, some clothes can be itchy.
I thought Hort would be Diaval’s son. Not Captain Hook’s.
If you don’t know who that is, go watch Maleficent, please.
Sword and dance routine? Get it? Instead of song and -- nevermind.
“The brave prince charming approaches!” ~ Sophie, maybe
Actually, he’s King Arthur’s son.
Yep, this is basically Descendants.
Fire for the fire god.
Agatha, you need some confidence.
Laurence Fishburne? I swear you’re EVERYWHERE.
“Cool, I get a whole room to myself.” ~ Agatha, maybe.
We even have the daughter of the Sheriff of Nottingham??
Agatha, you should have known the statues would come to life.
Wait, I thought Evil Jesper was dead?
Oh, it’s some weird hallucination thingy.
There’s evil and there’s threatening to drop someone from a building.
Learn to tell the difference.
Find the school master and plead their case, yup sounds SUPER easy.
“You know we can hear you narrating, you weirdo!” ~ An actual quote.
The narrator is a pen?
True love’s kiss can break the spell.
I LOVE THE SONGS IN THIS!!!
There’s an ugly class and beauty class?
You fail if no one asks you to the ball? Guess that counts me out.
Hold on, is that Michelle Yeoh? THIS CAST IS AWESOME!
Gregor Charming is kinda cute.
Poor guy is queasy around blood? I mean.... same.
Why’s Sophie’s vanity kind of annoying?
There’re people living in the trees!
See? Tedros loves to hear her talk about cats?
Did he say “open the effing door?” or am I going crazy.
Gregor, you need a dash of good luck.
Gnome humour is funny, guys, admit it!
Gregor, NO!!!!!!!!!!! You were the only character I liked in this movie.
Hort grew one chest hair in magic class. Good for you, buddy.
HOLY -- THIS GIRL CAN MAKE HER DRAGON TATTOO COME ALIVE!
IT’S ACTUALLY COMING OUT OF HER SHOULDER!
Girl is wacko!
Oh, but Evil Jesper comes in surrounded by bees to save the day.
“Sophie, you’re not allowed to kill anyone until after graduation.”
Bees are my greatest fear, so uh, I’d be outta there in ten milleseconds.
This centuries old guy is weirdly into Sophie and I’m not sure I like that.
Wish Fish? It sounds cool, but I don’t trust it for some reason.
I kinda want the mean girls to fail. I know that’s not nice, but.....
Agatha wishes for hope and a person comes out of the lake?
It’s because of a girl that all the wishes are granted?
IT’S GREGOR, EVERYONE! HE’S THE BIRD -- AND HE’S DEAD.
Professor, she just saw her friend die, that’s what’s wrong with her!
Bad professor cut Sophie’s hair? I mean, not the worst that could happen.
Girl, calm down. At least you aren’t dead.
Rafal, dude, you gotta chill, friend. (Yeah, that’s Evil Jesper’s name)
She wants to kiss Tedros, but I think he likes Agatha.
Gonna admit, that dip was smooth.
A finger glow? A finger prick? LIKE SLEEPING BEAUTY!
Looks like it hurts. I’ll skip, thanks.
Sophie looks good with the glow up not gonna lie
YOU SHOULD SEE ME IN A CROWN!?
GUYS, GO LISTEN TO THIS SOUNDTRACK RIGHT NOW!
Sophie, Tedros is Aggie’s man. You’ve got golden retriever boy.
DARK HAIR, WHITE SHIRT, BLACK PANTS? THE DEADLY COMBO!
Aggie used her power to help her friend. She deserves better.
Everybody Loves Tedros, except for the other Nevers.
An Ever and a Never together? OH, THE HORROR!
Hold on, why are they all mad? Wouldn’t this unite the schools?
Never heard of a trial by tail before, or is it tale?
The trial begins at sundown instead of midnight? Nice switch.
Sending them into the forbidden forest? M’kay.
DO NOT THE FLOWERS!
“With the power of the finger glow, I save you!” ~ Tedros, maybe.
Is that a mace-wielding pumpkin-headed grim reaper?
The princess is going to save the prince? Interesting twist!
Pumpkin man just exploded. That’s gonna be messy!
Agatha saved them and this is the thanks she gets?
Agatha is the only one with any sense around here.
She wrote Sophie a letter, too. :’(
PLEASE TELL ME RAFAL DOESN’T KISS SOPHIE!
He’s centuries old and she’s seventeen at the oldest.
Rafal and the Evil Professor were a thing?
Agatha is the most devoted friend in the world.
I turned my back for one second and Sophie’s a witch???
Honey, we’ve all experienced heartbreak, but this is too much.
The Never Ball looks cool, to be honest.
I’m sorry, Sophie, I can’t take you seriously right now.
Okay, she changed back, but now she’s crazy.
You attacked them first.
A COVER OF TOXIC DURING A BATTLE SCENE??
Have I mentioned this soundtrack is freaking epic?!
This is the best scene in the whole movie.
Since when does Sophie have shape-shifting powers?
LAURENCE FISHBURN IS RAFAL?
Oh, he just shapeshifted into him after murdering him.
That’s where you’re wrong, my guy. I’m chaos!
Wait, he kissed Sophie?? I should have seen it coming but...
“My love?” Dude, what? SHE’S LIKE.... Seventeen, right??
AGATHA’S HERE TO SAVE THE DAY!
I TURNED AWAY FOR FIVE MINUTES AND SOPHIE’S INJURED.
THEY SAID THEY LOVE EACH OTHER!!!!!
TRUE LOVE’S KISS.
I’M NOT CRYING, YOU ARE!!!!
THE PROFESSORS ARE SO IN LOVE AND I’M HERE FOR IT!
Tedros and Aggie are separating??? Nooooo!
Well at least she and Sophie will be together.
It says they’re siblings in the book. DARN IT!!!!!
THERE ARE GONNA BE MORE MOVIES, THOUGH!!!
Staying for the ending credits visual and songs.
